PalmOne Portable Keyboard for Palm m100/m105, III Series, and VII Series Handhelds

PalmOne Portable Keyboard for Palm m100/m105, III Series, and VII Series Handhelds
  • Collapsible keyboard for typing on the go
  • Folds down small enough to fit into a pocket or purse
  • 9 programmable quick keys
  • No battery required
  • Compatible with Palm m100/m105, Palm III series, and Palm VII series handhelds

I love my battered old Palm III (with no suffixes!). With PocketMirror's latest synch program on my PC, I have no trouble synching with Outlook 2000. To be sure, I'm almost out of memory, but I muddle by. There is only one fly in my Palm ointment I have never mastered Graffiti. After years of using the Palm III, I'm still barely at 90%+ accuracy. Consequently, I was an early adopter of the Palm keyboard. One of the great moments was a conference I attended at which everybody around me was using lap tops. I zipped out my Palm keyboard, whipped it open, snapped on my Palm and was the envy of everyone in sight. Palm probably owes me hundreds of dollars in finders fees for that one event.

The Palm keyboard is really a remarkable device. It folds down to next to nothing smaller than a paperback novel. It slips easily into a jacket pocket. Yet, it unfolds into a near full-size keyboard with remarkably accurate and 'life-like" action. It is actually easier to type on the Palm keyboard than on my Dell laptop. Taking notes or entering multiple contact data, let alone writing e-mails of any length, is now a breeze.

Why did I subtract one star? First, several friends who bought the Palm keyboard have had hardware and/or software problems. One has had to return the keyboard 3 times. I have had NO dififculties, but your mileage may vary. Second, the keyboard cannot be used on your laptop. Unless you have it on a hard surface, it tends to sag in the middle. Third, I had to fiddle with the settings a long time to get the keyboard delay right. Those quibbles aside, however, I highly recommend it to any power Palm user.

I work as a writer for a software design company. I do a moderate amount of travelling, and tons of moving around the company campus to various meeting locations.

Before I bought the keyboard, I used a notepad and pen to take notes. This meant that everywhere I went I had to remember to take my Palm, notebook, and pen. Then I would type my handwritten notes into my PC. It was time consuming, and less than ideal.

Now, I just plunck down my IIIc and keyboard and type away. Then I hotsync, and presto my notes are on my PC. No muss, no fuss. The keyboard is quiet enough to use during meetings, and small enough to fit on an airline tray-table. I love this thing!

Highly recommended for those who do a lot of writing on-the-go. Much better than the Go-Type keyboard (which I investigated, but didn't buy), as I can put my IIIc in one coat pocket, and the keyboard in the other, and never notice that they're there.

I've had none of the problems indicated in other reviews the software installation was a breeze, the keyboard itself has worked flawlessly, and it has withstood heavy use quite well. One caveat the keyboard must rest on a solid surface other than your lap, as the center hinge will allow it to "sag" slightly in the center if it is not supported.

A great gizmo for gadget-heads.

Palm insists that the curved bottom of the M100 means that the folding keyboards already available for the III and VII series will NOT work. Palm actually lists two different keyboards for these two sets of Palms and claims that the M100 version is not yet available. Just a warning to be a bit careful...

I have owned 2 of these now. They are an excellent idea, very slick and put together solidly. The only problem is I can't seem to get one that has all keys working on it. Good luck with the quality of yours if you plan on purchasing one, if mine worked, I would give it 6 stars. As I have had multiple problems with multiple keyboards, I say buyer beware.

I bought this keyboard for my Palm IIIc as an alternative to buying a lightweight laptop for writing on the go. It's extremely handy and well-built, and when it's unfolded it's the same size as a standard keyboard, so there's no awkwardness trying to get used to typing on it.

I was considering a laptop only because I wanted to have something I could take with me to write while I travel, so for my purposes the Palm keyboard works very well. It's also very handy for updating calendar and address information, rather than using stylus to write each letter one at a time or tap on the virtual keyboard Palm displays on its screen.

The keyboard folds compactly into a nice size that fits in its own little zippered case, only a little larger than a standard men's wallet. It's durable enough that I can toss it in my bag with my Palm and I carry it around with me everywhere.

The best thing about it is that it doesn't require its own power, has no special accessories, and saps very little from the Palm's battery. In fact, I've never noticed any significant drain on the Palm's battery due to using the keyboard. I think the time I save by typing instead of writing with the stylus makes up for any extra drain it causes.

The keyboard is fairly stable, but it needs to be used on a flat surface so you can't type with it in your lap. I find that the Palm sometimes bounces a little due to the keyboard not lying completely flat, but this is easily remedied by putting a thin magazine or a few sheets of newspaper underneath while using them on a hard surface.

Overall, a great investment for its usefulness, I've been able to avoid spending lots of money on a laptop, at least for the time being.

Samsung Galaxy NoteII 2 Leather Case - GT-N7100 - Ultra Thin Flip Top Type - PDair (Black)

Samsung Galaxy NoteII 2 Leather Case - GT-N7100 - Ultra Thin Flip Top Type - PDairThis is the case I am using. I ordered a couple of others (one by mistake), but this is the case of choice for now. Good leather, good feel, good fit. It is a little wider than the other cases,by a fraction of an inch (not bulky though), but the extra width keeps me from hitting the side buttons by accident. Case flips open, holds open by magnetism; flips closed, holds closed by magnetism. One of the other cases (Evecase--see review) has a slightly more compactness to it, looks less bulky, is made of good leather, but the perfect fit of the case leaves the side buttons of the Galaxy Note II more exposed, causes frequent hitting of the volume level and on/off button.

I am pleased with this PDair case.

BoxWave Leather Clutch Apple iPhone 5 Case - Synthetic Leather Fashion Wallet Case with Detachable H

BoxWave Leather Clutch Apple iPhone 5 Case - Synthetic Leather Fashion Wallet Case with Detachable Hand Strap Wristlet and Card Slot Holder - Apple iPhone 5 Cases and CoversI bought this for my daughter to use on her vacation cruise. The magnetic clasp erased her room card and credit card. Kind of defeats the purpose of the clutch. It might be ok if you just used your drivers license phone and cash but people don't really carry cash and to have to have a credit or bank card reissued is problematic.

The price was so good that I wondered if they would work well, but I was pleasantly surprised! My Kindle Fire reacts beautifully to the stylus, and having 3 of them on hand is great, in case I wear one out or lose one.

The barrel is a bit larger then the previous slim stylus I had bought and the increased size makes it easier for my fingers to hang onto.

Would buy them again in a heartbeat!

i try to keep these on hand as i find it easier to type with them on a virtual keyboard. it would be nice if they only sold just the rubber tips so u don't have to buy the whole pen part over again. the tips become too smooth after a while and the tablet won't respond to it anymore. but so far i've found that true for all of them regardless of price and these are very reasonable.

I am updating my earlier review of this product. I am still very please with them and will order another set due to my 2 year old grandbaby pulling off the clip of one. No, they are not indestructible but very good quality. The price is excellent so I am ordering another set as a back up in case life happens. The stylus works great with the Fire, is comfortable in your hand, and until the "incident" no problems at all. Seller sent item quickly.

The variety of colors of the Stylus was an attractive match to the cases I have for our Kindle Touch's. The bad news is that 2 of the 3 of them were unusable because the rubber tip was not supported and sunk in if they were used. The result was the round metal border pressing on and scratching on the screen protector. I was also promised free shipping for my products but because they cam from different vendors, I ended up paying more in shipping than the price of the product.

The stylus works great on my Kindle fire.It is much easier to click on the small place for ordering books from Amazon.

Handy Portable Document and Photo Scanner

Handy Portable Document and Photo Scanner
  • Just glide the scanner over any document or photo to capture it in 600 x 600 dpi resolution. Scanning doesn't get any easier than this

Overview and Scan Quality:

This little scanner is lightweight, easily portable, doesn't take up much space, and is super easy to use. It takes a little getting used to to get scans straight (if you shift even slightly while scanning, table lines and rows of text will not be precisely straight). The scanned image is pretty clear and I have had no problems with bleeding, blurring, fuzzing, dulling, or anything of the like. It does sometimes pick up a bit of noise that adds a slight color in the background of monotone scans. This may confuse a printer to add that coloring should you need to print the scanned page. This scanner can scan color or monotone items and the resolution can be set to either 300dpi or 600dpi.

This is fine for quicky scans of receipts, reference material, and the like, but if you are scanning important records or anything that requires a high quality scan, you may want to practice with this thing until you get everything straight or just use a flatbed scanner for that sort of thing. You will want to scan on a white surface unless you don't mind bits of table or more significant noise showing up in your scan.

Included Software:

The software is not required in order to use the scanner and I don't like that it has no pdf option. The software takes whatever screenshot you select and will send the text to Word, a table to Excel, either to a file or the clipboard, or an image to a file, clipboard, or email. I did not bother with it since I use pdf files almost exclusively and I cannot tell you if any of the transfers are accurate. Whether you use the software or not, the scanner is recognized as a storage device and your scan opens as an image in Windows Image Viewer. If you have a pdf printer driver (such as CutePDF, which is a free download at the CutePDF website), you can simply select "print" in the image viewer and set it to full page to print the image to a pdf file. I have to admit that the scans look a lot better than I expected them to.

MicroSD Card:

The description on Amazon currently seems to indicate that the microSD card is optional. It is not, so make sure you have one when you get this scanner. It scans wirelessly and only gets plugged in via USB cable to transfer saved scans to your computer.

Batteries, Cables, Etc.:

I use mine for occasional quick scans I don't want to turn the flatbed on for, such as receipts and notes. I have not had a problem with batteries running out, but that may be an issue if you are using the scanner more heavily. I use eneloop rechargeable batteries in mine without problem. The cable is a standard USB, so if you lose it, you probably have a dozen or so lying around you can use and, if you don't, it is not expensive to replace. It also comes with a microfiber cloth for cleaning the scan window. Make sure not to use anything other than microfiber! If you lose it, the Walmart eye care center carries inexpensive microfiber cloths that will work just fine and other stores that sell glasses also carry them.

Scanning:

FYI, the image on Amazon shows the scanner going across a book page horizontally. If you will look closely, there are white lines at either end of the scanner and those indicate the scan area. For best results, start at the top of the page and move the scanner down toward you, making sure the image you want scanned stays in between those white lines. It is not picky and didn't have a problem with me being a little jerky. Any side-to-side movement will result in slightly jagged lines, but the direction it scans came out just fine even though I am not very good at keeping an even pace.

Conclusion:

This scanner is great for quick scans or on-the-go scanning. The results are crisp and clear with minimal effort and retrieving scans from it is very simple.

After purchasing my own mini SD card and my own batteries, I was ready to do some scanning.

It is a good as it claims to be! For storing good printable scans of Black and White and colour documents, the 300 dpi is more than adequate. 600 dpi tends to produce bulky documents (more than 2 MB). Unless you have a picture with some fine details that need magnification later on, the 500 900 kb file size produced by 300 dpi is sufficient. The maximum time it will take to scan an 8.5 x 11 inch paper is 12 seconds (colour, 600 dpi) but since I use the 300 dpi all the time, the recommended time is less than 5 seconds. Very quick!

It takes a little practice getting to know which side to orient the scanner not to produce an upside down image or a laterally inverse one. Unless you have Parkinson's disease, most people's hands will be steady enough to scan wonderfully crisp images. The problem is that some documents/book pages have staples, dog ears and other impediments that make it difficult to roll over a flat surface evenly. As far as surfaces go; I recommend laying the document on top of a pane of glass, which allows for a frictionless gliding motion. I tried to press the document page flat onto the reverse side of the glass pane and scan from the other side of the glass but unfortunately, unlike flatbed scanners, this results in a blurred image. It seems the thickness (1/4 inch) of the glass was too much to get a good scan.

I really have fun with this scanner but of course wouldn't recommend using it to scan entire books. I only use it to grab magazine articles and to scan receipts and the like, but it would also be excellent for pictures.

A 1 GB SD card is more than sufficient memory. I have been scanning non stop for weeks now and must have hundreds of documents and still haven't used half of the memory. The autoshutoff after 2 minutes saves on battery life, which has only needed replacing once since the 4 weeks I've used it daily. A caveat since human hands are unsteady by nature, chances are that after doing many scans, some will end up with characters on the page which are stretched or compressed a bit (portions where your hand glided too quickly or got stuck on a dog ear). So don't buy this if you have to produce large numbers of flawlessly reproduced documents or else you'll be disappointed or find you have to strive too hard for perfection.

I definitely believe this is a good buy, though some may be put off by having to buy your own sd card and batteries (which is a significant cost). But most phones have micro sd cards now, so that could be substituted and there are always some old batteries lying round the house right? (in the remote control maybe?).

The scanner works basically as advertised. We will keep it. It is not difficult to use. My only complaint is that I wanted it to convert text into Word. I just could not get the included software to give me anything but gibberish when converting from optical to a Word formagt. But the device is easy to use and does a fine job of scanning and downloading optical files so I can save scanned documents but I cannot edit them.

All I expect in a sub $100 scanner is here. Works reliably and clearly on flat documents. No required install of bloatware on a Macintosh. After you install batteries and a micro SD card (not supplied!) you format the card, set the time, calibrate with a piece of white paper and go. There are two options, low/high (300 or 600 DPI), and mono/color. These settings are not persistent between restarts. The device always scans full-width, about 8", and is quite tolerant of jerky scans. When you plug in to a computer using the included USB cable the scanner appears as a digital camera device and all of the jpeg's are in a single folder. There is no OCR software included for Macs so you have to use your own solution here.

HP iPAQ Leather Belt Case for 1900 and 4100 series Pocket PC

HP iPAQ Leather Belt Case for 1900 and 4100 series Pocket PC

  • Attach to your belt clip
  • Store business cards, credit cards, and other small items
  • Compatibility: HP h1900, h2200, h4100 series
  • One-year limited warranty

I decided to buy this case because it was made by HP. You would figure who would know better than the manufacturer itself on how to make a case for it's own products. This case fits my IPAQ 1935 (1900 series) snugly and perfectly. It's very secure and I don't worry about the Ipaq ever falling out. It also leaves space open at tops to plug in earphones while the case is closed. The leather is sturdy and soft looks very elegant and professional. However unless you are buying form over function, my biggest complaint is that I constantly have to remove the IPAQ from the case to use it. The trifold does not allow you to access the IPAQ while it is within the case, you have to take it out to use it which is annoying because what do you do with the case when you are holding the IPAQ?

The case feels sturdy and for my use, I think it will last. The little stand is a bit flimsy but I didn't expect much. I suspect that the high end 50$ cases are better. But I don't need more. It doesn't look cheap either. So unless you plan on really throwing your ipad on the floor, you should get that one..., it would handle and accidental reasonable drop. • Camera lens protection
  • 3 position viewing stand designed to integrate smartly into the case
  • Magnet free design means all compass related navigation features will still work accurately!

This case features everything that I was looking for (especially the attachment for storing the scribe pen). The cutouts are in all the right places. It has 3 different positions for viewing. The elastic band provides extra closure and covers the camera lense for added resistance to scratches. Inside, the frame around the tablet allows access to the menu and scribe button from either landscape or portrait mode. All this and stylish in leather!

The built in stand works great, the leather is high quality and I love the color since it makes it easy to spot my tablet. All the openings are in the right place and it was a great buy. My only complaint is that the stylus holder is too small. I have the same stylus as in the photo, but there's no way it will fit. Aside from that, this is great.

I am so very delighted with my iGadgitz Pink 'Guardian' PU Leather Case Cover for HTC Flyer Android Tablet it is everything I had hoped for. It holds the tablet very securely and is comfortable to hold. Whoever designed this case put a lot of thought into it all the openings for the cameras speakers etc are in exactly the right place. Amazing value for the price.

  • Includes removable cable

I guess I have to be the first to give this product a negative review. I have to take some of the blame, though, since I only now noticed the "USB 1.1" part of the name. I didn't know anybody made USB in any version other than 2.0 these days, so I was surprised when my 4-gig card claimed it would take 70 minutes to load onto my laptop. Heck, the cheapie card reader I've been using for 3 years goes much, MUCH faster than that. I had hoped to replace that relatively bulky reader with this slim little product, but I'll be passing the Delkin along to my wife's camera bag and keeping the old one for my pro work. Look for another product if speedy downloads are a priority.

It is very easy to use, I just plugged it in and inserted two different memory cards, both of which worked without problems. It is a great product and I recomend it to anyone that needs a convenient way to get their pictures on their computer. (It is a smart alternative to buying a cable to hook your camara up to your computer.)

I've only used it to read a CompactFlash card, it worked without any problems. I haven't used it to write data to the memory card. It is definitely worth the price!

I got this knowing that it was silicon, but it was the only reasonably priced case for my flip video camera. The case was fine for a while, but slowly started to loosen up. The case is EXTREMELY hard to put in your pocket, but if you are putting it in a purse or something it will work perfectly fine. Dust was also a problem with this case if you are as OCD as I am. I was constantly rubbing the dust off whenever I grabbed the thing. The only upside, which was pretty important was that the case really does protect your camera. I have had a couple drops and falls and the camera looks brand new. So looking at the pros and cons, you decide if this product is right for you. Hope this helped.. :)

Problem was that after putting it on, it wasn't tight fitting and it felt like it could easily come off.

I'd say it's okay but not the best because of the loose fit.

I love my Flip cover. It is perfect for keeping your flip from getting scratched up because it covers it well but doesn't add bulk.

Want Flip Mino & Flip Mino HD Silicone Protective Cover Skin Case (Black) Discount?

Compared to the silicone protective cover for my iPod, this feels rough and kind of unpleasant. It's also a looser fit, at least for the Flip Mino HD. Adequate but if I could have felt the material before I bought it, I might have chosen something else. The checkered texture on the more closed side, for a better grip, is also unattractive to me and seems to collect dust.

Fit is good and it allows all controls to be operated well. Definately adds a level of protection for falls, and a little adheasion when in a shirt pocket.

It only costs about [money]/month for email service on your PDA which is a pretty good deal, considering I can use my email service pretty much where ever I like.

The Glenayre @ctiveLink is supposed to be a great wireless module, but has been unavailable as a standalone for weeks! I see no reason why the module should be unavailable while the Visor Deluxe bundle is always available.

BoxWave mini Capacitive iPhone Stylus (Lunar Blue)

BoxWave mini Capacitive iPhone Stylus
  • Works on all capacitive touch screens
  • Conveniently designed to attach to your iPhone via the 3.5mm headset jack
  • Perfect for cold days when you don't want to remove your gloves
  • Available in: Jet Black, Metallic Silver, Crimson Red, or Lunar Blue color

Keeps your touchscreen from getting fingerprints all over it, also is good to use when you don't want to take your gloves off just to answer/use your phone. I liked it better than the stylus because you don't have to keep up with it, just stick it in the headphone jack and it will be there next time you need it. FYI: the little black bands do not come off easily but could come off and get lost if you have it in your pocket and try to pull it out since they are like little rubber bands, but they are pretty securely on there.

Polaroid P-500IR Digital Photo Printer

Polaroid P-500IR Digital Photo Printer
  • Portable digital photo printer
  • Compatible with all digital cameras using CompactFlash and SmartMedia cards
  • Lightweight and compact
  • Print one image at a time or multiple copies
  • Automatically resizes JPEG files from any digital camera

What's not on the web site, and which I discovered only after buying it and opening it and some paper: while any size Compact Flash card will apparently work, this printer will accept only 32 meg Smart Media cards and smaller. Since I have (and need!) a 128 meg card for my Fuji 4700, the printer is useless to me--all I get is a card error message. It's a pity, because the price is right & it seems like a delightful toy.

For the price, size and quality its more novelty than serious printer, but its a good sort of novelty.

Pictures are small, but are on par with any other polaroid style camera. Good for scrapbooking, or checking images off LCD for digicams etc.

I bought mine in the hope it'd work with my P800 cell phones infrared, it didn't. Works fine with my nikon coolpix though.

The manual in mine says shoulderstrap included, however on the box it says it isn't,and it wasn't, not really a big deal though.

Haven't had a chance to see how easy it is to pickup film yet, but given its compatible with the joycam it should be reasonable easy.

The interface is ok, its a little terse but once you see where they were going its perfectly acceptable.

Prints come out fast, take a little while to appear.

Counting the rebate, and the included 10-photo film pack, you can't beat the price!

Keep in mind:

Actual picture size is approx. 2.8 x 2.1 inches (tiny)

Printing cost is around 90 cents per little photo. Typical of Polaroid.

The colors on mine are a little red-shifted

Other than that, it is a great little photo printer. Perfect for kids.

Didn't experience any paper jams (yet).

After a day of taking digital photos, I always have to rush home and print them. Now that slight problem is being solved with instant printers! With Polaroid's brand name and cheap price on this printer, I had to get it and try it.

And wow, I'm impressed. This package comes with everything you need to get started! Even an extra adapter and film so you can print right out of the box. The setup is easy and the instructions are made so you can stick it on the printer if you forget. What's great is that the printer accepts BOTH CF and SM cards. Now you can give photos away to people and they will be surprised at how you printed them so fast and because the picture source is from a digital camera you can select what photos you wanted printed and how many times.

The quality of the photos are superb just like those instant Polaroids everyone used to have, this prints a smaller rectangular verison with the photo about the size of a credit card; great wallet prints! The coloring of the film however seems to be a bit more on the magenta side if you dont have long-distance flash. Other than that, the printer itself requires no batteries and has a convenient strap so you can carry it everywhere you go. The printer is shaped nicely you can hold in your hand and the weight is light enough to carry with your digital camera.

I would definitely recommend getting this product! You can't find a better deal with the rebate offer!

The P-500IR is a stand-alone printer that outputs digital images onto P-500 Joycam instant film. It's "stand-alone" in that it doesn't have any direct connectivity to a computer, and it takes images from CompactFlash or SmartMedia cards (the latter requiring an included adapter). Since there is no preview screen on the unit (the thing runs on the embedded P500 film pack battery, so you only need to feed the thing film), you have to kinda guess which photo you're about to print. I've been taking the somewhat roundabout route of dumping the files from my digital camera onto the hard drive, tweaking and cropping with Photoshop, and then copying select files onto a CF card, which then is inserted into the P-500IR to be printed.

Output quality is pretty good, considering that it's instant film. The image size is pretty small, but it does create some unique "hard" artefacts of digital images. I think this printer would have been a questionable investment at its original price; however, with the discount, I suspect the folks at Polaroid are going to get their money back (and then some) on the film! The five stars are given specifically for the discounted price. This printer is a "must have" gadget at that price!

JAVOedge Ergonomic Grip Mini Stylus (White)

JAVOedge Ergonomic Grip Mini Stylus
  • Triangle shape of the stylus helps you find a firm grip so that there's no risk of the stylus slipping out of your fingers when you're using
  • The stylus helps you interact with your screen without leaving behind fingerprints or smudges
  • The Triangle Stylus is made to be portable with a keychain that fits into the headphone jack of the iPhone
  • The Gem on the removable keychain adds some sparkle and shine to your device

I have purchased other types of stylus because I can't seem to make my fingers touch the right letters on both my iPhone & iPad. But hey, I thought ergonomic would be more comfortable between my fingers. So for the ergonomic design I give this 2 stars. It is a good design and feels comfortable but the pad that touches the screen won't hold it shape and therefore becomes ineffectual. Don't bother with this brand. Maybe not as stylish but better quality go with Acase, elago or BoxWave if you want a mini-stylus that will last.

I initially bought this stylus for my HP Touchpad 32GB, but found that it works well, not only on that device but on my phone and my friend's iPad as well! It is very responsive on the phone and Touchpad (without anti-fingerprint screen cover). But even with the anti-fingerprint screen, the stylus still works, you just have to find the right pressure or repeat strokes. For the price, I HIGHLY recommend the rooCASE and would buy it again in a heartbeat!

very good unit which I use on my tablet and kindle fire. Question how long will it last, or can the tip be replaced?

I have tried several types of stylus with several apps on HP Touchpad running CyanogenMod 9 (Android ICS). The other stylus captured 80% of what I was writing (i.e. y wouldn't have loops, part of words missing despite writing whole word, etc.) This stylus captures 100%. I also like the fact that the stylus has a plastic piece that goes in the headphone jack; thus, this connects the stylus to the Touchpad for easy retrieval. My notes are now more reliable with this stylus. I only wish I found this stylus first so I didn't waste money buying the other stylus. You would be very happy with this purchase.

The stylus works great and contributes to the touchpad being even taht much handier. Pick one up, you won't regret it.
