I was really excited to buy the product but have run into a few problems. Videos will not convert correctly or play on the device. Also, the directions were awfull. I was told that the device was faulty and to return it. I will, but hope that the next one will perform better. Good things about it are that the pictures are nice, i was able to easily put pictures on it, although some must be converted. I was able to figure out how to add music after some time but it definately takes patience on account of the misleading directions. Overall i say it was ok because for the most part they helped me through a lot of the problems i was having with the device, It is a good product for the money.Monday, June 16, 2014

HP iPAQ hx2495 Pocket PC
- 3.5" TFT Active Maxtrix screen with 16-bit color
- Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11b data link protocols
- Includes touch-screen, five-way navigation button and stylus input sources
- Operates on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Premium Edition
- One-year warranty
the bluetooth widcomm software is pleasant to use. I recommend over the updated WM5 microsoft built-in version that comes with the OS.
this PDA is favorably comparable to the dell axim x50 or dell x50v, but with some models of those having no built-in wi-fi or a full VGA display (vs. the QVGA display on this iPAQ).
I decided for myself that the QVGA display was good enough for me and it is a really excellent display on the hx2495! i plan on using this PDA for GPS car navigation (already own a bluetooth GPS receiver). Media support (videos, MP3s) is excellent. The wifi makes it easy to update software and web surf. The wi-fi was absolutely required for some other applications I use, and so it was good to have it built-in. I would also rate the battery life to be fair to good.
the overall performance is snappy especially on media playing.
the bluetooth and wifi in a small lightweight form, with slightly rugged looks, great performance, windows mobile 5, and a low price make this PDA an excellent value.

This is my first PDA/ Handheld/ Portable Entertainment Device purchased to replace my 14 year old paper daytimer. I choose this unit after much research. My choices narrowed down to the Dell Axim v51 & this. I choose the iPAQ because of the voice recorder and mostly because of the removable battery. Not only does this allow you to replace it should the battery wear out or malfunction but I purchased a larger battery for travel.I am very pleased with product after several months. After an initial problem with getting it to sync, I discovered the problem was with the firewall & virus programs installed on my PC. I had to uninstall the firewall & virus & uninstall AutoSync 4.1. The units synchronized, then I reinstalled the virus program, upgraded to 4.1 & switched to Windows firewall. Now, its fun, fun, fun. I have a 1 GB card. I listen to music while I play games, watch videos, get my birthday cards out on time, make voice reminders while driving and more.
I only need to recharge the battery every other day. I have loaded at least 7 other programs and it still works great. I use an aluminum, neoprene lined case for protection in my purse.
Everyday I find more uses for it. I also recommend iPAQ for Dummies also sold on Amazon. Although the book doesn't address Windows Mobile 5, there are still additional hints I found very useful.

Just thought I'd add this bit for people who suffer the battery drain problem. This happens when you have an SD card inserted and a working Activesynch connection. It has something to do with constantly monitoring the card's output.Anyway, HP now have a ROM update that fixes this problem, although they should make more of point in telling people!
It's a simple matter of downloading the ROM update and applying it to your Ipaq. Make sure you have the correct Ipaq though, coz there is a 'b' version which has a different ROM update!
Hope this helps people.
Want HP iPAQ hx2495 Pocket PC Discount?
This review is of the hx2495b which I believe has more built in flash memory than the earlier model. I will describe my impressions based upon my previous experience with other pda's (as this is the first Windows Mobile device I have owned) and also based upon the fears I had prior to receiving my new iPAQ.1. I have owned several Palm OS devices and 1 Linux based device. Overall, I think the Palm OS is the most integrated of all as far as its contacts, calendar, and ToDo list. The calendar on the Windows Mobile device seems somewhat poorly organized, but I am getting used to how it functions.
2. It is also a little harder to navigate a Windows Mobile device using only hard buttons, but this iPAQ allows you to map hardware buttons for various functions so I can do most simple tasks without taking out my stylus.
3. Windows Mobile does not shut down programs when you "X" out of them. Normally this is not an issue with 56Mb of memory...but when running a memory intensive program (usually when surfing for me) I find that I need to manually free up some memory by going into the task manager and shutting down previously opened programs. This is a quirk that is a little annoying but something I can easily live with. There are many free and non-free utilities which can change this behavior.
4. The built in WiFi for this device seems rock solid. I get a better connection than I did with my Linux based Zaurus pda. I would prefer a slightly richer WiFi interface when setting up a connection, but then I am used to working with a laptop where I have more options available. I am sure there are some utilities you can install to beef up the interface.
5. Many of the functions on a Windows Mobile device are accessed by holding down the stylus on the screen (i.e. instead of just a tap). This is the equivalent of a right click in the desktop world and the functionality seems to be logically laid out.
6. Windows Mobile supports both portrait and landscape modes and you can map this functionality to a hard key.
7. My previous pda had a VGA display. I was worried about the loss of resolution when switching to the QVGA display of this device. However, I am now pretty much convinced that a VGA display is nearly a waste with screen sizes this small as I don't even notice a difference for most functionality.
8. There are a crap ton of free applications that exist for Windows Mobile. I was blown away. I thought the Linux world dominated the market for freeware, but I guess that Microsoft is on so many devices that there is a lot of software written for them.
9. I think the battery drain issue must have been fixed for this model. I have not loaded any updates to the OS, I have an SD card installed, and my battery life is excellent. I can easily read for over 4 hours on this device before recharging (I keep my backlight at 1/2 power when in doors).
10. This version of Windows Mobile has persistent memory storage so if you lose all the power in your pda your applications will still remain. All the applications I have installed so far have given me the option of storing them on my SD card...although I haven't even come close to filling up the built in storage.
11. My desktop machine has WinXP and Microsoft Office. Synchronization is painless. I'm sure it is not so painless with a Linux or Mac OS.
12. The suite of applications that comes with the iPAQ impressed me. It already has a built in terminal services client to remotely connect to a Windows machine (this is fairly impractical given the screen size but is good for shear geek factor). Excel and Word are included but I haven't played with them much. Out of the box you are ready to play mp3's and wmv's on the built in media player.
Overall, this is the best pda I have owned. There are some quirks with the OS (every OS has some), but this iPAQ delivers a lot of power for such a small device. I am a very happy owner. To put everyone's mind at ease, BATTERY DRAIN PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED (you simply have to do a few steps to fix it). BATTERY LIFE IS EXCELLENT once you complete the fix(I can go several days on standby and still have well over 80% battery power left).
The unit is suberb for typical PDA functions and a GREAT feature is not losing your data if you happen to drain the battery (resident memory). Works great as an MP3 player too (I just bought a 2 GB card for about $50; uses SD and CF cards).
I sync at work and at home...to me a PDA isn't too useful (other than music, books, etc.) unless you really put all your organizational info on it (contacts, appointments, notes, shopping lists, etc.).

3Com Audrey Web Appliance
- Stand-alone Web browser works with your Internet service provider; get instant access to up to 12 preset Web channels and e-mail
- Features a color touch screen and wireless keyboard
- Organizer functions include datebook, memo pad, and address book
- Synchronize date with 2 Palm OS-compatible devices
- Includes internal 56 Kbps modem; broadband ready with optional 3Com USB Ethernet adapter
Installation is very easy and fast. Audrey was connected and running in a matter of minutes. User's guide is large and easy to follow. It is very non-technical. User's who have any technical questions beyond how to plug it in and set up a custome ISP will have to look elsewhere.
Browsing We did not purchase the Audrey for the purpose of browsing the internet. We thought this was a job better left to the computer in the upstairs office. Our reason for Audrey was to have quick access to email, a common shceduler, and a common address book. As it turns out we use it to surf a lot more than we ever thought. It really pales in comparison to using a PC for browsing, but the ease and speed of getting on the net, and the location in a central family place has caused a lot more use in this fashion than we ever expected.
EmailThis is where Audrey really pays off. Email that is simple, quick, and accessible. We have begun to really use email a lot more because of this. Audrey lets you know if you have email waiting by flashing. It has become second nature to look for the flashing light on Audrey just as we would our telephone answering machine. Email program is very simple and stripped down compared to outlook, but it serves its purpose and gets the job done efficiently.
Address and DatebookOnce again, simple and effective. Pick an email address from the address book, tap it, and up pops the email program addressed and ready to go. We find it very useful to have all this information located in one central area for the whole family to use. Audrey will sync to two different palms, but we haven't had a chance to try this feature yet.
Nothing is perfect. We have had a few problems with our unit. Twice it has locked up after an automatic download and left the modem connected until we arrived home in the evening. We only have one phone line in our home, so this could present quite a problem if someone is trying to call and leave a message. There are also channels that are updated online and then you are able to view these without connecting back to the internet. It is only fully successful here about half of the time. We are able to get the weather channel on all occasions, but things like ABC News, ESPN, and CBS Marketwatch are very unreliable.
Overall we are very pleased with our purchase. It serves our needs well when we want it to, and fits nicely in the background of the kithen when not in use. We purchased Audrey over the other choices of web appliance because it was smaller and you are able to choose your own access/email provider. No regrets at all. The only caveat that we would add is that we didn't buy this appliance as our only source to surf the net. If that had been the case our choice may have been different.

My family purchased an Audrey for the holidays. We plugged it in and got it set up. Set up, by the way, couldn't have been easier. We just hooked up th broadband adapter and turned it on. Set up took roughly 15 minutes. After that, we set up all the porgrams. Thge internet works great with one problem; NO JAVA SUPPORT! The other problem we had was that our Palm V's wouldn't sync. We had to reboot to get it to work. It's a good product for what it does. Now some of the less "techy" people can acsess the net with ease. However, 3com shouldn't have rushed it, cuz she has her quirks.Read Best Reviews of 3Com Audrey Web Appliance Here
For some unknown reason, 3COM discontinued this web appliance only 5 months after it was released... so forget about getting support from 3COM... they no longer support this device and have even pulled support information from their website. The good news is that there is an entire on-line community devoted to customizing, tweaking and personalizing this web appliance.I originally got this for my mother as an easy intro to the Internet. There is a wireless keyboard which works well, but it's a bit too small for adult human hands to type quickly with accuracy.
The stylus (when not in use) sticks in the top of the Audrey like a single antenna and it blinks green when a new e-mail has arrived.
You can surf the web and even view Flash movies as long as they are reverse complaint to 3.0 Flash viewers. To protect itself from malicious programs, the Audrey does not read Java, but it will read JavaScript. The underlying OS (operating system) is QNX which is like a mini flavor if Unix. Because it isn't some proprietary OS just for this one appliance, there are many support forums for QNX which allow you to further update this appliance.
My less than perfect rating comes from the fact that Audrey prefers to be on a LAN connection, whether it's DSL, Cable Modem or a company LAN... as long as the connection is on at all times. If you disconnect from your ISP and turn Audrey off, she'll turn herself back on in an hour or so (whenever she feels like waking up) and start calling your ISP.
There have been a number of times I've been talking to my mother on the phone when Audrey suddenly decided to wake up and send modem screeches on the phone while we were talking.
I currently have the Audrey in my home as I try to customize it by hacking into the shell and keep Audrey from behaving this way. In order to customize Audrey, you need to have a router (like the Linksys 4 port available here on Amazon.com) so you can spoof an IP address to make Audrey think she's connecting to 3COM when in fact she's connecting to another address to update her OS so that the shell can be accessed.
Without the hacking, Audrey can still serve as a great appliance. The touch screen isn't really meant for human fingers, but the stylus with it's soft rubber tip. You can connect to most "normal" ISPs with the exception of AOL, which uses a proprietary browser and can't be loaded into the Audrey. Currently, my Audrey is connected through Earthlink. If you're already a wiz at the Internet, this appliance will probably drive you nuts, but if you have a parent or another friend who is totally clueless and scared of computers, this is a fantastic intro to e-mail and the web.
The Audrey boasts 2 speakers and a microphone built-in as well as a note pad and calendar.
For the money, this is a very sophisticated device... and the fact that you can synch up your palm pilot to it is remarkable.
The Audrey has an internal modem and has a jack for your phone line as well as for an Ethernet connection and a single USB port so you can connect a printer.
The Audrey is light weight and takes up a very small footprint on a desk.

I opened the box a scant few hours ago and I'm already in love. Sure, the keyboard takes some getting used to (it's kinda small) but the stylus and touch screen more than make up for it. It comes in five yummy colors (I opted for the creamy green). As for storing you data and syncing with your Palm ... top notch. And since Audrey updates herself daily I can only hope for more cool add ons.The Audrey mainly worked, but Java and Realplayer pages don't work. Realaudio is OK, so it makes a great web radio. Email is OK but some attachments don't get through. Audrey is a great prototype, but it's not ready for prime time. After many calls to 3com support I still couldn't get a Palm V to sync with it and so they decided that the serial port was faulty and asked me to return it for a replacement. That was four weeks ago! Calling their customer service is an adventure it's patchy at best. I'd wait for them to get their act together. Leon

BoxWave Samsung Acclaim Sketching Capacitive Stylus - Pencil-Shaped Samsung Acclaim Capacitive Touch
- Works on all capacitive touch screen devices
- Pencil-shaped design for optimal pen-like functionality
- Durable and solid aluminum construction
- Available in Gold, Jet Black, Metallic Silver, Olive Green, Scarlet Red, and Super Blue color
The Not-So-Good -The rubber strip that guards the buttons just below the screen and provides a hole for accessing the trackball is rather flimsy and really just gets in the way. I don't know what else they could have done to make it work, but it's a tad expensive for the inconvenience. I ended up cutting that part away.

This little recorder is an absolute gem. I have had two Dictaphones before and both did a reasonable job, but this one has very ergonomic buttons and controls that are so straight forward that I didn't really need to refer to the huge instruction manual. When you put the batteries in it asks you to input the date and time, like a mobile phone and then you can start using it.It actually comes with two batteries so you can start using it straight away, and I did. It copes well with all noise even background sound and there is no hiss or rumbling that you often get with a single microphone unit. It also has a headphone socket (headphones not included) which means you can listen to it on the train etc, without arousing the wrath of other passengers.
The thing I really like is the weight, and size, it fits nicely into the `lighter' pocket of most jeans and is smaller than most mobiles whilst weighing a few grams. It has a massive memory but no USB connection to save files onto your computer. It does have a filing system in the machine, but a USB portal would have made this perfect, still it is not fatal. East to use, easy to carry and easy to understand as the screen is very user friendly. If like me your work means you need a Dictaphone, then I think you would be hard pressed to find one as compact , light weight and user friendly as this.
Edit: I have just had my batteries run out and did not replace for two days, and found that when I did all of my files were wiped, so a bit gutted. It did give warning bleep so i should have paid attention, but thought I ought to post an edit to let users know.

I have no experience with digital recorders, but needed something to record meetings at which I am recording secretary. The sound quality was very good much to my surprise. My only complaint is the ease of directions for things like erasing after finished. Also since I was looking for a very simple recorder, this one is a little more complicated in that is has folders, etc. Overall, a very good product for the price. You don't need a USB to transfer your recordings, you just need a cord with mini-plugs on both ends. Plug one end into the headphone jack on the recorder and the other end into the microphone jack on your computer. You can also use the "line in" jack on the computer. Then use your own recording software or Windows Sound Recorder (Start, All Programs, Accessories, Sound Recorder) to record to your computer. I'm using Sound Recorder. Find the audio file you want to record, press "Play" on the recorder and press "Start Recording" (red button) on Sound Recorder. Press "stop recording" when you're done and the software asks for a file name. It's true that the Sony recorder files are MP3's but Sound Recorder saves the sound file as a windows media audio file. You can convert this to another type of audio file with any audio editing software--I use Nero Wave Editor. I bought this recorder instead of the more expensive model because I was positive I could transfer the files to my computer without a USB or additional software...as long as the recorder has a headphone jack, one simple cord makes it possible! I'm sure Amazon sells the mini-plug cable but I bought mine at the local Radio Shack.I personally was looking for something to assist me in rehearsing lines for Theatre..Not wishing to spend a small fortune out the onset, I tried this little Sony and was very surprised at the sound quality (very good for annuciation/vocalization which is very important to an actor) and simplicity of use. I really like the headphone and mike imputs......Of course, this is an entry level digital recorder--don't expect all kinds of "bells and whistles", usb ports or ability to connect to your computer. Just the basics....Wish I had one of these years ago. Would have made memorizing lines a lot easier!!!Thursday, October 24, 2013
Dark Blue 360 Degree Rotating Leather Case Cover with Swivel Stand for Amazon Kindle Fire with Scree
- Duel Layer hard interior cover and premium synthetic leather exterior.
- Rotate 360 degree between horizontal and vertical position.
- View Kindle Fire in multiple viewing or typing angles for both horizontal and vertical position.
- This case is for 2011 Kindle Fire ONLY, does not fit 2012 Kindle Fire HD 7" or 8.9".
- Combo include: one Kindle Fire case, screen guard(1 piece) and capacitive stylus pen(1 piece). Accessory ONLY Kindle Fire not included.
and still has the stylus..he is teenager and I am impressed.chose this rating because I expected to be able to actually use the Kindle while it's in the case. The cover is too flimsy and keeps falling when you put any pressure on it while using your Kindle----this is when I use it, being careful, and also it's worse for the 5 year old as I'm sure he isn't that careful. I was disappointed in the cover's use as a 'stand' for the Kindle but the price was okay and it's still works fine as just a cover.I like this case cover because it is easy to use. My Kindle does not slip in the case and you can adjust the angle with no problem. I have the green leather case and the color is beautiful with enough padding to protect your Kindle in case of the occassional drop. If your looking for a simple cover that can reverse into a stand, this is the one to get.

rooCASE Executive Portfolio (Black) Leather Case Cover with Landscape / Portrait View for HP TouchPa
Very nice fit and finish as expected from reading the reviews on this case for other tablets. If you pull zippers all the way back you can get the case nearly flat if that is an issue. Most of the time I use just the sleeve at home, and then put it on the Touchstone to charge at night. It will charge in both landscape and portrait mode and have had no problems with the velcro reacting to the slight warming of the touchstone that does occur during the charging process. Nice to be able to have the zippered case for travel and it does protect the unit well but does add some bulk.I clearly must have the wrong item but the labels read for hp touchpad, and i have to say it does not fit at all (inner piece), I have looked at the pictures and it looks like the holes on mine are flipped....I purchased my HP Touchpad two days after they came onto the market. Along with my new Touchpad, I purchased the case sold on HP's web site. It was simply OK. I didn't care for the way the front cover (flap) would always fall open if you held it the wrong way. I discovered this rooCase Executive Portfolio on Amazon, and took a chance in ordering it. This turned out to be a good move. This case fits the Touchpad like a glove and the case zips closed so no more opening unexpectedly. The rooCase feels rich and will protect the Touchpad from exposure. The detachable inner sleeve is great for popping out of the case to watch a video or surf the net and still retain a little protection."I ordered a case for an Hp Touchpad and received a case for a Toshiba Thrive. I have seen where this has happened a number of times. Im not sure why it is so hard for amazon warehouse deals to see the front cover of the case where it reads "Toshiba Thrive". Now because of a mistake made by them, I have to send it back and pay return shipping. Does not seem justified. "

GTMax 11 pieces Accessories Bundle Kit for Amazon Kindle Fire 7 inch Multi-touch Display Wi-Fi Table
The entire package is useful and nothings going to be wasted. Its nothing Fancy but very practical basic essential accessories.
For the correct application of the protector film, they didnt include the instructions, just 2 stickers denoting which one to be peeled first and second.(minus half star!)so like a true geek, I found my answers on Internet.Just go to you tube and type How to apply Kindle Screen Protector Film. Watch it before you put yours on. Once applied, its really thin, and didnt diminish any touch pressure.
I love the set of stylus, but wish they came with lanyards. They are about the 3/4 length of a ball point clicker pen, and can be tucked away if you have a leather sleeve or something with pockets, for your kindle. I wrote, drew and clicked with it, and dont have anything to complain about.
Overall, I say again, this is a value kit, and if I needed more kits for the kids, I would definitely order the same kit.Purchased 2 Accessory Kits for an extremely low price for our children who received Kindle Fires for Christmas; Believe this product to be priced well below market and is great for children who have portable electronics. Only issue is the headset that the kids say don't stay in their ears very well. May just have to work on it. Outside of that, the case is nice and it's great having the extra 3 stylus' as kids can lose them quickly.Stylus: They are small, light and work really well. I like them a lot better than the $15 $20 styluses because they are compact enough to fit in your pocket if you need or slide right inside your case without taking up much room.
Ear bud: Good sound. Nice fit. I have those ears that ear buds don't typically like to stay in, but these fit nicely and don't fall out. Not much bass to them, but you can't expect to be getting Beats at this price range.
Aux Cable: Great for in the car. The wind up get stuck sometimes, but it's not a deal breaker for me.
Fishbone: Probably the most under rated thing in this kit. You can wrap the USB charger and earbuds around this and slide them conveniently in your pocket. Keeps cables safe and doesn't put a lot of stress on connectors.
Splitter: Works.
Wrist strap: I actually put this on my sons 3DS. But it's pretty solid.Kit has all that you need but seems there packaging could use some protection from bending. They shipped all pieces in 1 bag which I am sure got thrown around by UPS and bent the protective covers. I was not able to use them by the time they made it to me had to throw them away. So until they ship this in a different manner I would not recomend this kit if you need the screen protectors.

BoxWave Swivel Belt Clip - Model D
- High quality, simple-to-use, and detachable belt clip
- Spring belt clip that rotates 360 degrees
- Includes a durable plastic screw that fits perfectly into your belt clip placeholder
- Available in black color
- Only compatible with selected Armor Cases
two suggestions for boxwave:
1 move the retaining nub on the clip from the center of the stud to above it so you can remove the dimple in the stud, giving a little more structural integrity to the arrangement.
2 the ONLY reason i even gave your case a try is the fact it was made of something (relatively) durable, why handicap the entire device by throwing in cheap plastic as one of the most critical parts? Use a metal stud instead.
Oh, while I'm commenting, I'm going back and looking up reviews for your metal cases as well, marking them as a do not buy. In less than a year, the aluminum they use in the case body will flex enough that it will finally fail. In an expensive case like this one, this is NOT acceptable. you have removed so much extra material for the side cutouts (power and volume) and vent holes on the back that there's not even 1/2 inch of material there across the back to resist flexing and eventual failure.Exactly as described. Came in new condition. Worked great on my android case as the old mount that screws into the back broke off. The threads fit exactly.

I lap swim a few times a week and was getting bored. I purchased this because it was on clearance for my old ipod mini. I wasnt sure how well it would work but would not be as upset if I ruined my old ipod than if I ruined my iphone. I am soooo amazed at how great it works. I have never had any issues with water inside the ipod and have no complaints about the sound. I purchased H20 Audio headphones from another site. The box is interchangable with whatever type of headphones you buy. It is also very easy to open and close when I need to charge it or am walking and dont want to carry the case.My only complaint is the size/weight of the case. It took a little getting used to having it clipped on my suit. It caused a bit of an uncomfortable drag. It would be better with an armband but could easily be clipped onto an armband.
I will definately trust my Iphone in a case made for the it (when they make one)! I have already purchased a water resistant case by otter box for my phone and cant wait to buy the waterproof one when it comes out.

1) super-functional hinged design, perfected from years of making camera boxes and related gear allows you to quickly load, unpload your 'Pod
2) smooth & effortless AppleWheel / touchpad control and "read through" screen visibility which makes it [IMHO] easier to control the 'mini when in the Otterbox than out !
3) the simple yet SUPER effective waterproof headphone seal lets you use any 3.5mm plug for your earphone needs unlike some other waterproof boxes that have twitchy seals that only work with their 'phones
4) rugged clip that lets your 'pod hang out wherever you are or onto whatever your into puts the Apple style clippy thing to serious shame; as in throw it out type of shame
5) the polycarb material and [nearly] bulletproof nature of the Otterbox's basic construction make this the box you should keep your 'Pod in ALL THE TIME; not just when you are splashing about, although this item can't be beat with a stick for water based adventures...
Now if I could only find a set of waterproof headphones that measured up like this SuperBox does...
DownSide; if you can call it that I'm reaching here... the "Hold" slider switch is not accessible when your 'pod is in the O'box so it IS possible to skip tracks, etc. while your mini is in this perfect little safe. That's really the only limitation that has come up through several months of heavy use both in and out of the water; including a hurricane evacuation [Ike !] and heavy reliance on the O'box to keep my little green meany safe safe safe.

Thank you for having a smooth transaction. Couldn't ask for better service. Smiles all around.Fortunately, I tested my Otter Box before using it on my Ipod for swimming, which was why I purchased it in the first place. After following the instructions, I put some tissue paper in the Otter Box, closed it per the instructions, and then placed in a small pot of water. After an hour or so, I removed the Otter Box to check the contents, careful to dry the exterior thoroughly. The tissue inside was damp!Unfortunately, I was out of the country when I discovered this problem and could not return the Otter Box during the time required to comply with Amazon's return policy.
My recommendation = try another product if you want to make sure you're iPod is safe for wet use like swimming.
