Seiko Thumboard Keyboard for Handspring Visor Deluxe, Neo, Pro & Platinum

Seiko Thumboard Keyboard for Handspring Visor Deluxe, Neo, Pro & Platinum
  • Perfect input alternative to stylus pen
  • Light and small
  • QWERTY key layout
  • Connects directly onto handheld
  • Compatible with Handspring Visor, Visor Deluxe, Visor Platinum, Visor Neo, and Visor Pro handhelds

Alright, I have to admit that straight out of the box I thought I was never going to be able to use this thing! The keys seemed terribly small and my fingers aren't the most delicate things on this planet.

After a couple of days, I'm falling in love. This keyboard has a lot of advantages over other 'portable' keyboards.

Size: Truly portable. Comparing it my friend's Stowaway, this thing just takes the cake.

Location: If you don't know yet, you slip this over the bottom of your handheld (in my case Visor). It stays in place remarkably well. It's rounded sides and larger profile, makes typing easy because the handheld is easier to hold.

Construction: Yes, it's plastic, but it's well made plastic. Everything has clean finished edges. I flexed my in my hand and it creaked a little bit, but not like it was going to fall apart suddenly.

In conclusion, I give this tiny but powerful keyboard four stars. It would have earned the coveted five star rating if it's keys were just a smudge bigger, or spaced out a bit more. If you have small fingers and great fine motor skills, you'll be typing out page-long emails in no time.

I have been using my thumboard with my visor delux for about a week now, and am getting pretty good at typing on it, but the software has one major drawback. It automaticaly boots to the application screen when you turn it on. I would like it to go to the last application I was working on like the visor does without the thumbboard. It is a pain to have to keep restarting the application just because I turned the device off or let it time out while taking notes. Other than that, it works great!

Read Best Reviews of Seiko Thumboard Keyboard for Handspring Visor Deluxe, Neo, Pro & Platinum Here

1)When trying to install the software found it conflicts with the Targus Keyboard and hangs the Visor. Disable the Targus Keyboard driver before installing and the install will work ok.

2)The Thumboard program interferes with the working of the alarm function. The alarm will sound but the alarm display is suppressed and you won't be able to deactivate the alarm. The only way to deactivate the alarm is to disable the Thumboard and reset the alarmed item to activate again. Then both the original alarm and the reset alarm will display and can then be cancelled.

Out side of these 2 items it works as advertised. The Manual is Tiwanglesh but is still understandable.

The thumboard I just received it today. You won't be able to type as fast as a fast touch typist, but you can do quite well enough.

The keys are responsive and quick no lag time at all.

The portability is the biggest plus for me, as I walk everywhere, and am always trying to write things on my Visor using Graffitti.. I've gotten good at it, but it's still too slow.

But with the Thumboard, I can walk and type with my thumbs, plus just pop it off, and stick it in my pocket when I'm not using it.

That's the main thing I like about this: mobility. It also has an excellent balance to it.

Save 42% Off

There's an annoying glitch when powering off my Visor Deluxe via the Thumboard half the time the unit goes into Hotsynch mode...I then have to physically pullout the Thumboard unit and turn the power off...no doubt this is probably not good for my Visor. I've contacted Seiko-Austin via email and they have yet to reply. Very frustrating!!! If I wasnt in Japan I would have returned this product back to Amazon. A friend of mine also had the same problem with his Thumboard...so be careful. If it wasnt for this pesky problem I would easily give the unit 5 stars as its works well otherwise.

Acer Aspire V5-171-9661 11.6-Inch Laptop (Silky Silver)

Acer Aspire V5-171-9661 11.6-Inch Laptop
  • Intel Core i7-3517U 1.9 GHz (4 MB Cache)
  • 8 GB SDRAM
  • 500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
  • 11.6-Inch Screen, Intel HD Graphics 4000
  • Windows 8, 5-hour battery life

To start, I own a lot of Acer products. Every year or so, I tend to inch along in my needs and feelings for laptops. Prior to purchasing this, I had an 10" Acer Aspire One netbook which I was thrilled about and a 14" Acer Aspire Timeline. I was hoping that this machine would sort of be the bridge between the things that I really liked about a Netbook (light, good battery life, very portable, and low heat) and the performance of my more beefy laptop (higher resolution, better video performance, etc).

I have to say that in many ways this meets my needs and in some others it didn't quite live up to my expectations. To start with, though, I will first say that I am pleased with this notebook, overall. I am not going to blame the product for having Windows 8 which is at times obnoxious and counter-intuitive because the product description clearly says it comes with windows 8. Some people are not going to like it though. I'd suggest you try to navigate around Windows 8 sometime with a mouse in a store if you want a feel for the experience. Everyone's going to differ on whether they think this is one step forward and two back, or the other way around. What I will say is, for what Windows 8 is, this thing flies through it and it displays everything in a slick manner.

This has had no problems running Netflix, not that you would expect it to. It can do all your normal computing, and the easy app stuff they seem to be trying to turn windows into. On top of that, this isn't a great system to play games on, but it can run the games that I have played with respectable stability. I routinely play World of Tanks on mine with middle-of-the-road type graphics, and I'm very satisfied with the mid-20's to mid-30's frames per second. If you pump it as high as it goes (or as high as it lets you) you will see the frame rate drop though to a humanly noticeable level. The same can be said for Skyrim.

Some of the things that aren't measured in the specs that you might want to be aware of. This can get rather hot. If you are doing anything complicated, this could be come a 'not-on-my-lap laptop.' If you're just playing with the internet, it usually seems to be fine. If, like I mentioned above, you're playing a game, definitely set it down somewhere else. Also, this is the first Acer that I've purchased where the sound that comes with the computer is noticeably bad. The speakers that are in this sound tinny and hollow. If you are planning on playing music, this would probably force you to headphones or a separate speaker system. I carry around an 'X-Mini II Capsule Speaker,' which is quite nice for what it is, so I can plug that in if I need pretty or more noises for whatever reason.

No question...great performance. The VGA and HDMI ports support two monitors very well on this and all the other notebooks. The NEW Acer site allows a very smooth compare of the complex mix of features. Fortunately Amazon has the right stock.

I needed to replace my work notebook; I had previously purchased an Acer Timeline X series in the same 11.6" form factor and it has done fairly well throughout its two-year run with me around the world (literally) other than a few niggling problems.

I had a budget of about $1,500, so I was considering the Asus Zenbook Prime in the same form factor, but I couldn't find one with the 256GB SSD. Moreover, it didn't have a full-sized SD card slot and didn't come with the old-school VGA port (this was important because many of the customers I visit do not have projectors with HDMI inputs). I finally decided that for the price, I would buy the Acer V5 because it had the same processor (Ivy bridge Core i7) and double the RAM of the Asus (8GB vs. 4GB).

It seems that the minor problems with the last notebook have been addressed and it is exceedingly fast. The only complaint is that I'm still adapting to the touchpad with integrated buttons as my last one had dedicated buttons. However, with the money I saved, I decided to buy a 256GB SSD for the computer (be sure to get one that is 7mm high most of them are 9mm and will not fit inside the chassis) and used Acronis True Image to clone the drive...wow. Screaming fast performance that takes about 15 seconds to go from completely powered off to booted and about 4 seconds to go from sleep to booted. Apps open almost instantaneously...and I still have about $500 left in the budget to buy more stuff!

A quick word to those of you that put an SSD in the device using Acronis: I used a USB enclosure to turn the SSD drive into a flash drive in order to do the cloning. I spent a couple of hours trying to clone and the only way it worked for me was when I created a bootable flash drive with Acronis and then changed the BIOS's settings from UEFI to LegacyBoot (otherwise the BIOS won't let you boot to Acronis' Linux image). The cloning takes about an hour and then you can swap the HDD and SSD. Once you swap the drives, you need to change the BIOS back to UEFI or it won't boot Windows 8. Good luck!

As the owner of an 11.6" Acer Aspire One AO722, this looks the same but with a much faster CPU, a better graphics processor, a lot more memory and a USB 3.0 port, all of which the One could use I added RAM and an SSD to mine and makes this laptop of potential interest. OTOH, given that it comes with Windows 8 I was wondering about the screen, i.e., whether it is a touchscreen. Although reaching out to a touchscreen is not very functional when the laptop is more than about a half an arm's length away (elbow-to-fingers), in closer, such as on one's lap, it could work well.

At the Acer site, the graphic shows someone touching the screen and the text below, under a "Touch to go" headline, reads "The Aspire V5 Series features slimmed-down mobile convenience in your choice of 11.6", 14.0" and 15.6" display sizes -including models with 10-point touchscreens!" Since that's a little ambiguous and Amazon doesn't indicate a touchscreen, I called Acer support. According to the rep (India) who went and checked to be sure, this model does *not* come with a touchscreen. He also mentioned something about some consistency problems between the touchpad and Win 8, but I didn't pursue it. The other thing to note is the advertised 5-hour battery life. As laptops go, I suppose that's borderline acceptable and in the range of the Aspire One. But realistically, manufacturer battery specs are usually inflated, thus something in the 4-hour range seems more reasonable to expect. A review of the 15.6" 6869 model found 4h12m. That wouldn't be so good.

  • Conveniently designed to attach to your NOOKcolor via the 3.5mm headset jack
  • Perfect for cold days when you don't want to remove your gloves
  • Available in: Jet Black, Metallic Silver, Crimson Red, or Lunar Blue color

The stylus is great. I am notorious for touching the wrong place on my screen...I guess my fingers are too big! Now I have complete control. I use the stylus with my Nook. I tied it to the hook on the left bottom corner of my Nook so it is always available. I left the cord long enough to reach the top of the Nook. It will also lay in the crease of my Nook cover when I close it. So convenient!

Both stylus and tether are too short to be really useful. That said, the thing works fine but waaay overpriced. Am using a stylus that I bought for a buck that is much handier.

I was a bit concerned while ordering it, but it really does work well. It doesn't drag very well, but it clicks on most any spot perfectly. The cord is a bit short, but I plan to replace it with elastic. A great size, very compact and fits in my Nook Color case.

Bulky: it doubles the thickness of the phone. It's a tradeoff between protection and bulkiness. I have also ordered a back resin cover for when I want a thinner phone to carry.

My wife loves the Leather case goes with all her purses. Provides all around protection and easy access to the phone .

Woul be nice to have had maybe 1-2 slots for drivers license, credit card or whatever. I really like the swivel attachment so I can clip to clothes or pocketbook. Priced a little high but I would still buy it, it's worth it.

CellBlaster Universal UV Sanitizer

CellBlaster Universal UV Sanitizer
  • World's First UNIVERSAL Sanitizer
  • Sanitizes in 30 seconds!! Eight times faster and far more germ-killing power than competitive units
  • Tested and proven at a major US University to kill 99.9% of all microorganisms in 30 seconds flat!
  • Accepts virtually ALL cell phone and smart phones, smaller tablets, ear buds, bluetooth headsets, personal hygiene items...if it fits in the UV chamber, it is sanitized in 30 seconds!
  • Allows charging and sanitizing at the same time.

When I read all the news articles about how most cell phones are covered with germs (pretty disgusting, I know!), I realized I had to do something since I'm on my phone all the time. I researched a few different products and ended up buying the Cellblaster, since it was the only one that works with my type of cell phone (a flip phone). Anyway, it works great. I actually just bought another one for my mother (who's really germ phobic). The device is well built and attractive, and it's really easy to use. Plus, it only takes 30 seconds to kill all the germs, so I can just pop in my phone when I go to bed or wake up in the morning and I'm all set. The Cellblaster is worth every penny for the peace of mind it gives you.

This adapter seems to be the real thing as it came in the original Nokia packaging. So far it works great with all my microUSB powered devices.

Do note that the adapter does get a bit warm and should be unplugged once your device is charged to prevent damage. I previously had a fake one from china that overheated and melted because I had left it plugged in.

When I bought a new Nokia phone (N900) I thought it would bring its own travel charger to use in my car. The previous phone had it but both phones have different types of chargers. Since I gave my old phone to my wife, I still needed the charger. Instead of buying a new one, I got this charger adapter which has been very useful, not only for the phones but also for my bluetooth headset. It's great!

Ace Skull Rubberized Snap on Hard Protective Cover Case for Samsung Vibrant T959 + Microfiber Pouch Bag

My first thoughts when purchasing this protective case for my smartphone was "It's cheap enough and should work until I find a good one" Well I have had this case for quite a few weeks and it's still in great shape! I have dropped my phone and this cover has saved me the cost of a replacement phone. The rubber like feel gives you a great grip and it's not too bulky to prevent it from slipping in to a holster case.

Thanks.

DYMO LabelManager 160 Hand Held Label Maker

DYMO LabelManager 160 Hand Held Label Maker
  • Logical button flow makes labeling faster and easier, from start to print
  • 195 symbols and clipart
  • Auto-off power saver
  • AC adapter compatible (sold separately)
  • Uses DYMO D1 labels in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" widths

Most of the handheld label printers are built using ABC keybaords vs. the QWERTY keyboard, and that was a key factor in my decision to buy this scanner. Some people have claimed that using DYMO label makers vs. Brother label makers will save money as the DYMO does waste less label when printing, this is both true and false --I will explain more further down in this review.

I would like to add to this review a comment about batteries, there has been multiple comments about this label maker "eating batteries"; I have used up trial cartridge and many labels into my second cartridge and have not changed the batteries in this unit. I am using Eneloop Rechargeable batteries and they have performed flawlessly. Keep in mind that this would be a higher drain type of device when printing and cheap "Super Duty" (Non-alkaline or cheap Rechargeable) batteries are probably not going to work well. As always, I recommend the investment in Eneloop batteries with a good charger (LaCrosse BC-700)

PROs:

Handheld form factor

Easy to use

Prints nice looking labels

QWERTY Keyboard

CONs:

NO access to any special charactors except via menus (i.e. if you need a "-" or a "." on your label, there is NO button for this and you have to go into the symbol menu to find the symbol you want) ... This is annoying and is the reason that this label maker looses one star (most of my labels include "-" or "." in them)

****************************************************************************************

*** The truth about actual label costs (Pictures will be attached to this review) ***

****************************************************************************************

I printed out labels using a Brother P-Touch PT-2030 and the DYMO LabelManager 160 and these were the results of my findings:

As of the time of this writing, the DYMO 1/2" D-1 label roll is selling for $14 and includes 23 feet (276 inches) of label

As of the time of this writing, the Brother 1/2" P-Touch label roll is selling for $11 and includes 26.2 feet (314 inches) of label

I printed two labels that had this text in 24pt BOLD "TEST-XX-01"

The DYMO label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 2.75" in length which would allow 100 labels to be printed on a $14 roll

*** $0.14 per label

The Brother label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 4" in length which would allow 78 labels to be printed on the $11 roll

*** $0.14 per label

*** TIE ***

I printed two labels that had this text in 24pt BOLD "255.255.255.255"

The DYMO label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 3.375" (3 3/8") in length which would allow 81 labels on $14 roll

*** $0.17 per label

The Brother label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 4.5" in length which would allow 69 labels on a $11 roll

*** $0.16 per label

*** BROTHER WINS ***

The DYMO would win with smaller labels, it seems that my first label tested is about the tie breaker in size.

Bottom line:

If you print SMALL labels, you will get more for your money using a DYMO label printer with less waste per label

If you print larger labels, you will get more for your money using a BROTHER label printer even though it waste more per label

The DYMO generally prints more labels per roll than the brother, even though there is less label per cart, however the Brother label is cheaper at this time.

There is also the consideration that you might be ok with the extra tape used by the dymo, and that you might hate how much extra tape is used with the brother, ... How much time might you spend trimming brother labels because they are huge?

They are both great label makers ... I hope this review helps someone make an informed decision!

Buy DYMO LabelManager 160 Hand Held Label Maker Now

I am a professional organizer, so I have used a few different label makers. This one is by far the simplest to use and gives great results! It does not waste tape (like the P-Touch by Brother which spits out huge margins so you keep having to buy more tape constantly!) The buttons on this Dymo are very intuitive. I didn't even have to read the directions to figure out how to use it. The font sizes are adjustable with the push of one button and they are called "8 point," "10 point," "12 point," etc. just like on a computer, so you know generally how big they are instead of just calling them "small," "medium," and "large." You can also underline, bold and change the orientation of the label with the touch of one simple button. Same with making the label have multiple lines of text. I am so happy to have finally found a simple, economical label maker! The last label maker I liked was also a Dymo and I used it happily for years. Then I had a P-touch that ate both tape and batteries like crazy! This Dymo is brand new, so I can't speak to its longevity yet, but so far, I'm very impressed!

Read Best Reviews of DYMO LabelManager 160 Hand Held Label Maker Here

It print labels. That's what it's supposed to do. But my ten year old Ptouch is easier to use. I didn't think the user interface was that big a deal but this one made me realize I'm wrong. And the biggest knock is six AAA batteries. My old PTouch lasts for a few years of use and sitting around with four AA's. I burned through the AAA's in the DYMO quickly. I liked the full-sized QWERTY keyboard. That's nice. I didn't have the feeding issues others have had. I don't like the setup. I have to tell it what size tape I am using. Maybe a sensor would have driven the price to high. I don't like manuals so I liked that it didn't come with one...just a small "start-up" sheet. But if you need a manual, there's not one. I doubt you will need one though. But I knocked it down a star for AAA's that don't last as long and the fact the user interface is clunky

Pros

1) Full-sized QWERTY keyboard

2) Prints with less waste than my PTouch

3) Prints quickly with little noise

Cons

1) Six AAA's

2) Not enough special characters on keyboard. Have to use menu

3) Expensive replacement labels

I hate it worse than almost anything to have to give a thumbs down to a product I got for free through the vine program. Feels ungrateful. But it's worse to not be honest about my experience with the product. I was really looking forward to using the Dymo LabelManager 160 to label about 100 file folders I have just created to organize my file cabinet. And to label a bunch of bottles of spices. I kept thinking of things I could use it for, and of course after finding out it didn't work, I thought of so many more.

It came with a trial-size cartridge of label tape and a warranty book that I thought was instructions because it was many pages thick. Turns out each page was the same warranty information, each in a different language. The "instructions" consisted of one sheet with pictures showing what the labelmaker looks like open and highlighting things like the battery compartment and the various buttons. I pretty much had to guess what each was for if I didn't recognize the symbol on the button. Nice big keyboard. The screen is big enough to clearly see what you are writing. But, again, I had to make too many guesses and fool around a lot until I went to the Dymo website to read up on it. At first I searched for the adapter that should have come with it, then realized you'd have to buy one if you wanted to avoid using 6 AAA batteries. Hey, that's sorta cheap of them.

Once I had everything figured out and loaded, I tried to print labels. Every time I hit print, the label maker hummed...and died. Over and over. The power just kept shutting off. I tried all the trouble-shooting tips I could find, without success. So, I guess I am forced to say I would not waste my money buying this model.

UPDATE: YAY! I can now get it to work with a universal AC adapter I happened to have. I think the surge of power that was pulling at the batteries when I hit "Print" (even though they were brand new) was knocking the power out. So I am having fun labeling my folders. Wish I could change my initial rating, but Dymo does need to address this problem since others have had it too.

Save 27% Off

I've been using the cheapest Brother label makers for years. Never had a problem with them. Brother replacement label tapes are widely available and pretty cheap.

This Dymo labeler is very comparable to the cheap Brother label makers. The product is shaped a little differently, but about the same general size. Dymo uses 6 AAA batteries instead of the 6 AA in the Brother, but the Dymo is still a little heavier. Features are about the same and print quality is about the same. Price for the label maker is about the same.

Of the two, I have to recommend Brother because the replacement labeling tapes are much cheaper. Here on Amazon, Dymo tapes are $11.36 (list price $19.99) for 1/2" x 23' tapes. Brother tapes are $6.89 (list price $12.99) for 1/2" x 26' tapes. That's double the price for the tapes. If you use a lot of tapes, that adds up pretty quickly.

4 stars because this product works as advertised. Knocking off one star because of the cost of the replacement tapes compared to the competition.

Price comparison for the tapes:

GTMax 11 pieces Accessories Bundle Kit for Amazon Kindle Fire 7 inch Multi-touch Display Wi-Fi Table

GTMax 11 pieces Accessories Bundle Kit for Amazon Kindle Fire 7 inch Multi-touch Display Wi-Fi TabletThis is such a cool bundle of things for you kindle, and I must say, there originally was a piece missing from the kit (specifically the USB connection wire) but after an e-mail informing the seller, it was shipped right to me (they even offered me a refund, but I declined since I just wanted that one wire)... excellent, well worth it, and so many of the things in this bundle come in handy! I say, get it!!!

I really like the bundle. It got to me the 5th day I ordered, including the Weekend. Everything was individually wrapped. I tested out all the stuff. Except for the headphones, (I'm still wondering which part is gel!) which looks like one of those Delta Airlines free headphones, everything looks good. (Minus half star!)

The entire package is useful and nothings going to be wasted. Its nothing Fancy but very practical basic essential accessories.

For the correct application of the protector film, they didnt include the instructions, just 2 stickers denoting which one to be peeled first and second.(minus half star!)so like a true geek, I found my answers on Internet.Just go to you tube and type How to apply Kindle Screen Protector Film. Watch it before you put yours on. Once applied, its really thin, and didnt diminish any touch pressure.

I love the set of stylus, but wish they came with lanyards. They are about the 3/4 length of a ball point clicker pen, and can be tucked away if you have a leather sleeve or something with pockets, for your kindle. I wrote, drew and clicked with it, and dont have anything to complain about.

Overall, I say again, this is a value kit, and if I needed more kits for the kids, I would definitely order the same kit.

Purchased 2 Accessory Kits for an extremely low price for our children who received Kindle Fires for Christmas; Believe this product to be priced well below market and is great for children who have portable electronics. Only issue is the headset that the kids say don't stay in their ears very well. May just have to work on it. Outside of that, the case is nice and it's great having the extra 3 stylus' as kids can lose them quickly.

Stylus: They are small, light and work really well. I like them a lot better than the $15 $20 styluses because they are compact enough to fit in your pocket if you need or slide right inside your case without taking up much room.

Ear bud: Good sound. Nice fit. I have those ears that ear buds don't typically like to stay in, but these fit nicely and don't fall out. Not much bass to them, but you can't expect to be getting Beats at this price range.

Aux Cable: Great for in the car. The wind up get stuck sometimes, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Fishbone: Probably the most under rated thing in this kit. You can wrap the USB charger and earbuds around this and slide them conveniently in your pocket. Keeps cables safe and doesn't put a lot of stress on connectors.

Splitter: Works.

Wrist strap: I actually put this on my sons 3DS. But it's pretty solid.

Kit has all that you need but seems there packaging could use some protection from bending. They shipped all pieces in 1 bag which I am sure got thrown around by UPS and bent the protective covers. I was not able to use them by the time they made it to me had to throw them away. So until they ship this in a different manner I would not recomend this kit if you need the screen protectors.

rooCASE Dual-View Multi Angle Folio Case for Apple iPad Mini and iPad 4 4th Generation Tablet (Built

rooCASE Dual-View Multi Angle Folio Case for Apple iPad Mini 7.9-Inch TabletI really like this case. The red color is vibrant and the material is nice quality. Some have commented on the magnetic on/off function not working, but mine works fine so far. I love the multiple positions it allows for viewing and the velcro keeps the iPad sturdy. I also like how it has a protective case surrounding the iPad if you want to use it alone without the stand function. Now for my complaint... I received this case January 4, 2012 and on January 6, 2012 (only 2 days later) I noticed cracking/splitting along the spine of the case on the inside and outside unfortunately. Perhaps I received a defective case. I'll contact the seller PC Microstore and Amazon customer service to see what can be done about this.

Update:

I emailed the seller PC Microstore about the splitting in the spine of the case, they immediately emailed me back. They promptly sent me a new replacement case in perfect condition along with a prepaid mailing label to return the first case. Great case & great customer service from a great seller !

I do not recommend this product. First of all it does NOT do the wake, sleep thing. That doesn't even work some of the time. Also, the "leather" is very vinyl like. Not really even leather like. Also this is a very bulky cover. I am really not happy with this cover and will probably send it back.

I wanted a case that would work in both portrait and landscape views. That function does work, but the magnets appear to be nonexistent as nothing ever turns the unit off and the cover doesn't stay closed.
