I got the item defectve, took it to sprint and the tech showed me a "RED" sticker on the inside of the phone, this means the phone was water damaged. Also the material isnt "NEW" rather refabricated, and it wasnt blackberry qualifed material. The phone had a huge gap on the back on both sides, like they took different parts and put them together? Anyhue it isnt made of blackberry, dont fit my phone and I hope Amazon looks into this as it said "NEW" when they are clearly selling KNOCK OFFS.

This battery was fairly easy to install. (You'll need a small torx screwdriver to take off the back cover. I found one at Lowe's as part of a set of small screwdrivers. In addition, I found instructions on the web on how to remove and instalol this battery.) Once the back cover is off, it's straightforward to find and replace the battery. This replacement battery worked well; and, it lasted alot longer than the original battery between charges.

I have only had it for a few days but it works really nice. It is easy to press the numbers(keys are not too small) and it functions quickly. It also comes with a nice cover.

It has an automatic shut off after a few minutes which should save the battery when it is not being powered by light.

The only drawback is the display is not as bright as I would like it.....buy hey!!!

She Who Must be Obeyed bought it for me a couple of weeks ago. It booted up with no problems, there are minimal installation requirements such as choosing a language, choosing a name for the computer, setting a password, etc. and the Windows 7 installation did the rest. Absolutely "painless".

It requires 4 blank DVDs to create your recovery disks. Have them on hand when you boot up and make your recovery and driver disks immediately. No need to take a chance.

It is preloaded with installation options for McAfee antivirus, Norton backup, Microsoft Works and a 60 day trial of Microsoft Office.

I didn't want any of them so I installed Avast antivirus and Revo Uninstaller from a thumb drive, then deleted the software that I didn't want using Revo Uninstaller. No problems.

If you are using a non-Motorola protective case, see note below. Unlike some reviews I've read, I found this mount to be well designed and sturdy enough even for rough roads. If the base is mounted on a near vertical surface, then the holder will be, a minimum of 6 inches away from the mounting surface due to the way the articulating joints are designed. There's more latitude when mounting on a near horizontal surface like the top of the dash. There's an included stick-on smooth disk so the suction cup will work on textured surfaces. If you are not using a protective case, no problems. If you are using a Motorola case, then you will need to remove the spacer insert that comes pre-installed lift two clips and it comes off.

If using an aftermarket protective case, you may need to make some adjustments with a Dremel tool in order to get the micro USB connector in the mount to go into the phone far enough to charge the phone. I'm using this case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VSICYY/ref=oss_product (excellent, btw) and had to remove material from the holder along it's bottom edge and along the inside surface of the bottom corners. Just take your time with the Dremel and keep checking to see if the phone charging indicator comes on without having to press the phone down hard into the mount holder. When you've removed enough material to allow the phone to sit down in the holder, it will do so easily and the charge indicator will come on.

This dock works great. Made specifically for the Verizon Droid X so it is expected that it would work great for that phone. One note. The dock I received came with the car charger plug in the kit. It is not listed or shown on this page but that is the package I received. Unfortunately for me I also purchased a car charger cable because everywhere I had seen online sold them separately. It even shows it as a combo purchase here on Amazon. Don't know if that was by mistake or not but don't buy both because you may end up with double.

Shipped by Amazon very quickly as usual, but the unit itself is just so so. The fit of the phone in the unit is extremely good as is the range of adjustments, however I find the frame to be excessively large blocking more than the average amount of visibility for a Nav system through the windshield. Most annoying though, is that the support arm simply isnt stiff enough and at lowish vehicle speeds on anything other than the smoothest roads, the unit vibrates / resonates.

I love everything about this car mount. You can mount it on your dashboard or on your windshield. It adjusts in 100 different directions and then you can lock it into place so it doesn't move. The other really nice feature is that the charger plugs into the mount, not your phone, so all you have to do is pop your phone in and out. Most mounts for GPS units require you to plug the charger into the unit, and then mount the unit separately, so this way makes a lot more sense.

I don't think I had the dock for more than a week before I realized I needed a new charger. I plugged the charger into the back of the dock the first time I used it in my car, and my phone did not immediately begin charging. I had to push the connector head extremely hard into the back of the dock in order to create a strong enough electrical connection for my phone to begin charging. I tried to charge my phone afterwards just by plugging the charger directly into the phone, and depending on how I held my phone, there was an unstable connection that showed only intermittent charging. I tried to push the connector head harder into the socket, and deformed the terminal so now it doesn't charge at all. It looks to me like the casing around the connector is too thick so that it does not allow for a good connection with the phone or back of the dock.

The dock itself is great. It is the perfect fit for the Droid X and you are able to put it practically anywhere on your dashboard or windshield.

I just installed the Lexerd protector for my 900, and I'm glad its a "peel and stick" version. It came pre-cut for the earpice, camera, sensors, etc., and also came with "finger gloves" to prevent finger prints. The material feels like the OEM screen and there is no change in sensitivity. Fingers/stylus swipe just as smoothly as before. I was going to opt for the "ZAGG", as I'd installed on another "non-touch" screen phone, and while it offers great protection, I was worried about the rubbery feel. Not an issue with the Lexerd. I performed a mild key-scratch test and while the keys made indentations in the material, a few rubs with the finger gets most of the scratches out. Phone is still fine.

My only concern is that out of the package, the protector is curled/concaved such that the sides of the non-adhesive face point upwards. I'm not sure if this was intentional, in order to make installation easy, but once applied, all along the borders, there doesn't seem to be a solid contact between the film and the screen (eg air bubbles). Again, this is limited to the edges, and not the main part of the screen. I'm not able to pull the protector off with finger/fingernails, along what seems to be the loosely contacting edge, so again, I'm not sure if this is intentional or not. I think it will survive for a while, sliding in and out of pockets however. Either way, I think its better than the versions that require "liquids" for installation.

Just be careful to not get "ANY" dust, lint, etc. on the screen or it will show as a tiny air bubble. It may not matter for some people but for the OCD types, it will probably be an issue. I reapplied mine to clean off (1) small piece of lint. Even after re-applying, there were no other air bubbles. I'd recommend getting the (2) pack if you're not sure you can get it right on the first shot. My first protector got too much lint/dust on somehow (my mistake, not mfg.).

I was trying to decide between the Metro Vac ED-500 duster or this all-in-one duster / vacuum. I really wanted something that did both so I decided to give the DataVac Pro a try. I saw some great reviews, and some not-so-great reviews so I was a little worried. I have to say, I love this product! The vacuum part is what you would expect, and does as good of a job as a regular upright vacuum with a hose. The vacuum comes with a hose, regular sized brush, crevice tool, pinpoint cleaner, and a micro cleaning kit consisting of a micro bursh, crevice tool, and flexible (somewhat) straw attachment. Everything seems to be of good quality and is made in the U.S.A. the canister is metal and the vacuum comes with 5 extra bags + the one already installed. There is no set-up out of the box, just plug it in and go.

This product seems to be geared towards people in the computer or electronics repair field. As a computer technician here are my thoughts: First , the kind of dust you find in a computer cannot be easily vacuumed up by any vacuum cleaner (except for dust bunnies). the dust is so fine and almost seems electro-statically charged to the surfaces. That said, I like to vacuum up as much as I can before I blow the rest out. the blower works by attaching the hose to the opposite end of the vacuum. I would say the blower is probably more powerful than a can of air but maybe not as powerful as the ED-500 although I don't know for sure because I've never tried the ED-500. What I can say is that the blower is *MORE* than powerful enough to get the job done. I saw some impressive videos with the ED-500 blowing literally "clouds" of dust from computers. This blower does the same. I blew out a computer I thought was pretty clean and I got the same "clouds" of dust out of it (don't do this indoors)

One thing I wanted to mention: I see a lot of videos where people blow out power supplies CPU fans, etc. In these videos you can always hear the fan spinning as air is blown at it. Yes, it sounds really cool, but this is very bad for the fan. What happens is the air is strong enough to over-rev the bearings in the fan and it will lead to premature failure of the fan or even immediate failure (i.e. your fan will start making strange noises right after you are done cleaning it) The proper way to clean a cpu fan, power supply fan, or anything else with a fan is to stick a plastic zip-tie, straw, or any other straight piece of plastic in the blades to block them from spinning while you blow the fan clean. Just don't forget to remove the zip-tie when you are done and don't use any metal objects, especially in the power supply. Even with the computer unplugged there are still dangerous voltages in power supplies.

I bought this vacuum to keep the dust out of my two computers.

The vacuum gets hot quickly when using the smaller tip, but it doesn't vacuum that well without the smaller tip. Even with the smaller tip I found that it worked better as a blower than as a vacuum.

However, after using it to maintain only two computers for approximately five cleanings it is beginning to lose its power, and to heat up more quickly.

I would have chosen a different product had I known this previous to purchase, so I'm rating this to help others.

I've seen the other reviews here recently, and I'm not sure what folks are complaining about. Yes, there's an AC motor in here, so things will tend to get a little warm when moving that much air. We have a Hoover upright at home, and while the sucking power of this little thing doesn't approach that Vacuum, it does admirably enough that I no longer need to use the Hoover. The attachment you see in the photo representing the vacuum is great for getting those dust bunnies out from the bottom of the case, and even better for cleaning off exhaust grates and fan assemblies. If you've got a fine layer of dust on something, this, and my Hoover, aren't very good at this. To make this vacuum the one-two punch you need for dust, you need either compressed air, or a hose from a compressor to help loosen things up. That's how I did it with the upright, and that's how I do it with this thing.

As for the heat, I've had it on for extended periods of time, 5-7 minutes a stretch and while it does get warm, as long as you aren't blocking the exhaust port, you won't get any trouble. Every vacuum/blower I've ever used got as warm as this one does, so I don't see what people are complaining about. It's all online sensationalism as far as I can tell. Sorry guys.

The extra included filters are a nice touch, but I usually just empty mine out until I need to switch to another one no loss of sucking power or excess heat. It is a little unweildy though, I wish the hose was a little longer or the tube was shaped differently, but it sits in my lap just fine all the same.

In order to get any results from this vacuum you must use the small straw attachments. Even then it is not very good. With the large attachments it will not pick up anything. I got this vacuum cleaner for small and quick cleanups on my electric test bench, where I did not want to haul in a larger vacuum cleaner.

I was surprised to see that the vacuum is 'Made in the USA'; seems like not many things are anymore. On the other hand, it might have been a nicer unit in some ways if it came from China.

The body of the vacuum is actually metal with a black painted finish. The handle, hoses and accessories are plastic. But the whole thing seems rather crudely manufactured, with some hardware going in at odd angles and the paint job spotty and with runs.

The vacuum works well and produces a goodly amount of suction, quite respectable for its size (about 16" long not counting the hose, and about 4" diameter). I would guess that its vacuum is about the same as smaller shop vacs. It is not overly noisy, certainly a lot quieter than most full sized vacuums. It would not be too disruptive in an office environment, for example.

The vacuum comes with a short hose and the usual crevas tool and dusting brush, plus an adapter for much smaller fittings for work in small spaces and on equipment such as copiers, printers, computers, and such. I also got a micro vacuum attachment kit from Amazon (which is listed as a recommended accessory, but the kit is by a different manufacturer), in order to get a hose extension and even smaller fittings and brushes. Note that this vacuum's normal hose and basic fittings are sized to be compatible with most household type vacuum cleaners (and the smaller shop vacs), so their fittings would probably be interchangable.

Some others have complained about the vacuum getting hot. I ran it for a few minutes without a load and it got just a bit warm to the touch. With the hose partly blocked, it got rather warmer to the touch, but never hot. I suppose if you ran it under load for a long time it might even get low-level hot, but not uncomfortably or dangerously hot. But then, so do my shop vacs and Hoovers.

The vacuum comes with a generously long power cord.

The bags are proprietary for this vacuum, but they seem inexpensive and easy enough to obtain online. One end cap unscrews to access the bag compartment.

Both ends of the vacuum unit have the same kind of hose fitting, so it can be used as a vacuum and as a blower, with or without a hose.

As a heavy Palm user, I've found PalmOne's Power To Go quite handy. When its attached, it 1) charges my Palm and 2) is still usable on any Palm keyboard. It can 3) also be charged in a cradle and 4) be synced while its linked. (Hey, that rhymes!) Its use is thus totally transparent.

The only thing that it won't do while attached is fit in my T3's hard case, which isn't a very big deal.

But if I'm going to a meeting which I know will put unusually high demands on my Palm then I'll take the Power To Go unit with me so I never need to worry that my T3 will ever run out of gas.

The Power To Go unit also has a light which, when lit, tells you that its charging your Palm. So, if it should ever go out then you'll know that you're running on your Palm's battery alone and that its time to recharge the sled.

Everyone seems to overlook the fact that these ALSO work with Palm Tungsten C's.

I have a Tungsten C and 2 of these units. I keep one Power To Go in my charger cradle at all times and carry the other with me everywhere I go. I swap them with each other and that way I always have the capacity to fully charge my Tungsten C at any time. The only reasons I don't leave it attached at all times is that the Tungsten C won't fit in my case with the unit attached and the user manual says not to.

I rely heavily on my Tungsten C for reference applications and journals at work as well as pleasure (game playing and LOTS of reading) and video, so it would spend a LOT of time on the charger cradle if not for these clever little buggers. I can get 1 full charge and another half to 3/4 charge out of one fully charged Power To Go unit with my Tungsten C. You can Hot Sync even while the Power To Go is attached (and even fully charge both Palm AND POwer To Go at the same time in the cradle).

My sister who doesn't use her Zire 31 nearly as much is frustrated that Power To Go won't work with her handheld and she has to either carry her charger cord with her or recharge her unit almost daily.

This unit is SO worth it if you rely on a fully charged handheld on a daily basis. I was just looking for these on the Palm site and they are no longer listed there, so I wonder if they will continue to manufacture them.

I've tried many shoulder braces, and this is easily the most comfortable to use, and also one of the most versatile. I must admit that most of the time I travel light, and so I will often configure it without all of the parts, but even so, it is a great piece of equipment, whether used in part or whole. You can feel it's quality no matter the use.

It is solid and well made. When you tighten the thumb screws they stay tight and hold the 15mm rods in position. When using matt boxes or follow focus on the rails it is easy to adjust your camera up or down as needed. Having the twin rails supporting the camera makes it hard for the camera's weight to cause it to roll on you. The hand grip is comfortable. Best of all though is the where the shoulder brace itself makes contact with your shoulder. The rubber cover makes it very comfortable (so much nicer for long stretches than the zacuto alternative), and the narrowness of it makes it so that it can pivot against your body, allowing you to easily adjust the angle from which you are viewing it. (So many other manufacturers have this piece being a couple inches wideredrock for example-, and the versatility goes way down.) This is key for me, since most of my photography and videography is of wildlife and done on a kayak, which means I can't pivot my body as much. In this case it becomes necessary for my camera to pivot, and when I use this brace it can. It is also very handy when standing on dry land, and you want to be able to pivot, without taking a step (and risking bounce).

All in all very well made and very versatile, one of my key pieces of camera equipment that travels with me, no matter where in the world I go (although I will usually only take the parts of it I need depending on the type of shooting I will be doing).

I was in the market to find a shoulder rig for my DSLR for steady video , When searching outside of Amazon most of the High end units retail 500-900 dollars . Introduction

This is my review on the Asus MyPal A626 Pocket PC PDA. It is a pure PDA, not a phone, though does have WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities.

The basic specs are as follows:

-Intel/Marvell XScale PXA270 312Mhz

-64MB RAM

-256MB Flash

-Windows Mobile Edition 6 with mobile office

-3.5" 320x240 16k color touch screen

-802.11g and bluetooth

-3.7V 1200mAh L-ion Battery

-3.5mm headphone jack, SDIO slot, speaker, microphone, Ir

Build and first impression

First off, the build quality appears and feels quite good. The front Is a brushed steel or chrome with shiny chrome on the edges. The backside of the PDA is a soft gray plastic. The buttons are solid and have a nice feel, but the 4 task buttons are positioned to high to really make good controls if you plan on using emulators or some games on it. Also, the PDA is designed to be held either portrait or landscape, but assume I am holding it portrait when I am referring to it.

The top of the PDA has the centered power button and and offset SD slot. The right side has the 3.5mm headphone jack, hold slider, and stylus. The left side has the USB port. The bottom side has the Ir and reset button. The microphone is above the screen on the front, and the speaker and indicator lights are below the buttons.

Everything is well placed and convenient. My only complaint here is the bright LED indicator lights being right under the buttons, as they are bright and blink instead of staying on steady. I would have preferred them be on top or something less intrusive to the eye.

Basic Usage

Well, coming originally from Pocket PC 2002, I was interested in seeing what was added/changed in Windows Mobile Edition 6. (WME6)

For one thing, it's more Vista like in it's loading bars and in it's resource management. On initial boot, it is already using half of the available RAM, leaving only about 34MB for your programs to run in. Conversely, my PPC2002 device had 64MB, and the left about 42-48MB for program storage and usage. Also, with this device, Windows and your programs are actually stored in the built in flash, Although it has 256MB (probably 248MB or so once converted), only 174MB is available to the user. However, it does come with a lot more, which justifies the OS becoming much larger.

My PCC2002 was a light version to save on memory, so word didn't even have spell check. Well that is there now, excel now does graphics, and there is a power point viewer. Additionally, there are built in drivers and settings for WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. They have also added Transcriber, a new way to write, which I'll give more detail on later.

Other notable new features for people comming from older PPCs are the CPU management, which is adjustable, portrait and landscape rotation, and quick tasks in the bottom right of the "Today" screen. The device is pretty responsive under default settings, but if you put the CPU to "Maximum", it is very responsive, though you sacrifice battery life. I keep it on "auto" most of the time, which is sufficient for most tasks.

The device is comfortable to hold, thought the telescoping stylus is overly light and short, primarily because it comes out of the short side of the device. However, the stylus and screen work well together and are pretty accurate and easy to use. The screen requires just the right amount of effort IMHO.

Audio

Many people like the idea of the iPhone because it is a phone, PDA, and Music player all in one. However, a PPC device can play audio as well, and some do quite a good job of it. The sound of the ASUS through it's headphone jack is just above average. If anything, it's a little flat at it's default settings, so I go to the audio settings, where you get a bass and treble slider, each from -2 to +2, starting at 0. I found +2 for treble and +1 for bass works well for my music and headphones, but I'm sure this varies between headphones used. It also has a 3D setting for sound, which is a slider with about 18 stops, with 0 as the default. I liked it on about 5. With these settings on my headphones, most of my music sounded quite good, with good detail and minimal distortion. However, on songs with heavy deep bass, it didn't distort or quiet, but it could be a little sloppy with some of those notes. Nothing major. Volume levels will go high enough for most, and unless you have the bass on +2 and max the volume with some heavy bass music, you won't get distortion. I used the included Windows Mobile 10 for music, as well as TCPMP for music and AV.

Overall, sound quality is on a similar level to an iPod, but there are some portable music devices out there with better sound. Definitely usable!

Video Playback

With TCPMP, this device is excellent at playing AV. I actually found a patch for TCPMP that allows the device to play flash videos, so I can get on youtube or a similar service and watch the videos full screen on my PDA. They are as smooth as a regular PC is with the high compression video. I have also done a quick test with Divx files on an SD card, but it was a lower bit rate one, which played fine. I have yet to try a higher bitrate Divx video yet, but I don't think it will have trouble. I update this once I give that a go.

The screen is a pleasure to watch video on. While it won't be that bright in direct sunlight, the backlight is even and color seems fairly accurate an pleasing. I give this device props over video iPods because of it's larger screen and ability to play more formats, though will have less space unless you stock up on SD cards.

Battey Life

This is actually a strong point of this PDA. Even with it's modest 1200mAh battery, it's usage life is about 4-24 hours. If you set your playist up, and just let it play at moderate volume with the device on hold so the screen is off, you should easily get over 20 hours. Playing a high bit rate video with the backlight turned up should yield about 4-6 hours. Internet usage with the WiFi on isn't a whole lot better than palying video, but all things considering, I think this is excellent battery life. My HP iPaq 1910 only got 3-6 hours for all tasks, even in it's prime, and had difficulty playing anything but video tailored to it, and that was overclocked.

Software Issues

My only real complaint about this PDA is that Windows Mobile Edition 6, and reported 5 as well, have problems running older PPC software properly. The emulators made for ARM processors and PPC2000-2003 run significantly slower on this device thant hey did on my older, slower PPC2002 iPaq 1910. I am having a hard time finding newer emulators that were made for the newer OS, so I am kind of stuck for now. So if you have specific older software you want to run on it, try the software on a WME5 or 6 device first to see if it has any issues.

I was very happy to find the ASUS to come with an extra stylus and a simple soft case for the device. It also came with a USB cable, a wall charger, 3 CDs. and the booklets. The package was very good, and made me feel that ASUS really cares what their customer think.

[b]Conclusion and Who it's for[/b]

The ASUS MyPal A626 is an excellent PDA overall. It has no significant weaknesses, it comes well equipped for the price, and if you know what you are getting, you should be very happy with it.

So who is the Asus A626 for? It is for someone who wants a PDA that can do more than schedule, but you don't need it as a GPS or Cell Phone. The built in flash is ALOT of space for a PPC, as most programs are only 500KB to a few MB, so you can fill it up with programs, and still have the SD slot available. Personally, I don't want my PDA and phone to be the same device, because I don't want to have to not use my PDA so my phone doesn't die, or vice versa. I like having the two devices separately, though you can communicate the two with bluetooth. I would like to see the ability to bluetooth your contacts to your phone, too.

This device has a huge list of things it can do. Scheduling, Music, Video, Voice Recording, Notes, Typing, Games, Internet, and much more with appropriate software or addons. No, it's not also a cell phone, but it doesn't claim to be, so if you're not expecting it, it is a great device, all for about $300.

I lost my Palm TX and because I was having so many problems with it, I decided to search for a new, more reliable PDA. It was difficult to find because everything else with the same capability came with phone service. The new Asus was not given much attention by reviewers because it wasn't a phone. (Not everyone wants to rely on an all-in-one product). Fortunately I decided to take a chance on the Asus and it is the best PDA I have owned. I have had my ASUS for two months now. Battery life is great and I have never had to reset it--both constant problems with the TX). The screen is clear and easy to read. It comes with a very nice slip holder--not the cheap kind you get with other PDA's. It has a very nice solid feel to it and is easy to hold. The bundled software is Windows Mobile and I was able to adapt to the change from a Palm OS system. I have found that there is a wide choice of outside vendor programs to download on Handango.com. Enough to meet my needs. (Reviewers of PDA's often promote the Palm because it has more software available) If you want a great PDA without a phone get the ASUS. You won't regret it.

I spent a great deal of time checking out all PDAs that came with wireless connections. I checked out HP, Dell and Palm and was leaning toward the Palm TX till I came across the ASUS MyPal A626. What caught my eye was the Wireless 802.11b/g connection. The other devices only came with Wireless 802.11b which is approximately five times slower that 802.11g.

This device says it comes with 64MB RAM, 128MB ROM and Microsoft Windows 5.0, but it actually comes as an upgrade (it says so on the box) and has 128MB, 256MB ROM and Windows Mobile 6.0. It also comes with a mini USB cable for syncing, an AC adapter for recharging, and an extra stylus (very nice, it is resizable) and three CDs that include extra software and Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5.

The installed software includes Office Mobile with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Media Player, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Windows Live, Messenger and many others. The programs all run well and fast.

I tried the Wireless 802.11g connection at my local library. I simply clicked on the small icon on the Today screen and selected Enable WiFi. The device quickly connected to the library's WiFi network and I launched IE and was online. The browser loads pages the same as on a desktop/laptop. The speed was suprisingly good. Faster than dialup--comparable to a slow DSL connection (as opposed to the faster 768k DSL). I would recommend downloading the Opera Mobile browser from Opera's website as it includes multiple tabbed browsing which IE does not.

Only two minor drawbacks to this whole package. First, the case it comes with is ok, but hardly strong enough to protect the screen very well. So be careful with it. I would suggest buying a solid metal case to carry your MyPal around in. Second, ActiveSync 4.5 would not install on my computer from the CD. Big problem since you need it to transfer files. The CD kept saying I needed to install Flash 8.0 or later--but it was installed and both my browsers (IE and Mozilla Firefox) were running Flash fine. What to do? Just go to Microsoft's website, type Mobile in the search box and then download ActiveSync 4.5 from their site. It will install easily without using Flash.

This is a great device. The best on the market and the only one with Wireless 802.11 g. I highly recommend it.

Pros: nice built, nice screen, decent touch surface, good wi-fi, decent battery life, etc... all is as spec'd.

Cons:

does not reconnect the SD card after resuming from standby. You cannot really use it like an MP3 player keeping your music on the card. Every time you power it on/resume you have to remove and reinsert the card to reconnect it.

very annoying and distracting bright LED blinking under the ASUS logo (under the mask) when connected to wi-fi (which is all the time, for me).

As most electronics these days, a product rushed to market without proper usability testing.

Follow up:

Installed the firmware update from the Asus site, SD card issue solved.

I also had an issue with some full screen applications not displaying properly. Installed the (older) LCD display update patch and this issue was solved also.

They could have included this older display patch in the newer firmware patch.

Also, they could have notified me of these updates, as I had registered the product. What is the point of registering then?

Since starting to use bluetooth, I notice the similarly annoying blue blinking LED.

There is also an issue with reconnecting my bluetooth device after resuming from sleep.

I feel I should up my rating to 3.5 stars.

I don't care much for the material this is made out of. It is a sticky type of silicone that will attract lint and hair, which does not come off easily. I don't know what the strap is for, because there isn't a spot to put it! The best part of this deal is the screen protector, which is the only thing I still use.

We got this pen and are absolutely amazed at what it can do. Our daughter was so excited that she was going to be able to read now without the help of others, now she just needs the pen for the words she doesn't know. The only down fall would be that it does take some practice learning to scroll it across the words. Our daughter has some fine motor issues which makes it more difficult for her to get the pen to read the words correctly as she needs to learn to scroll across slow and steady.

It took 30 days and the registered parcel had a Hong Kong address, not a real issue, just wasn't ready for that when I ordered it. But it was delivered in the time frame as promised. The case smells like real leather and looks really nice. Stitching seems to be well done, but hard to tell after a few days, but so far so good. All of the ports line up and the only drawback is in order to have the power / micro usb plugged in the case must be open. There are no holes for the usb port when the case is closed. Not usually a big deal, but would have liked to have it charge with the case closed. There is an opening for the usb port when the case is open, it's just not accessible when it's closed.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but the keyboard fits into a plastic sleeve that holds the phone to the bottom part of the case. It a plastic film over your keyboard when you type. It's protective, functional and doesn't interfere with typing. The snap is metal and slightly magnetic and also snaps in place.

There are no pictures of the back, but I was hoping for a belt loop or small belt clip instead of the regular black plastic clip. I have used body glove cases forever, but the g2 hinge isn't as tight as the g1 and opens if it's at the wrong angle especially clipped on a belt walking around and unless the screen is locked with a pin or pattern, the phone unlocks when the keyboard opens and all sorts of strange things can occur on their own. So I wanted a full case that closed and kept everything inside.

If you use the included clip it comes with a piece that is screwed into the back, then if worn on the belt, it sticks out further than I would like. I'm trying to get away from the phone on the belt clip geek look. If it's going to be on my belt I want it close to the body, horizontal and not able to rotate freely. This clip isn't it. This case is better without the clip and should be used in a jacket or coat pocket.

It's not really what I had in mind, but those are my personal requirements and I felt the only way to tell for sure was to see it for real. I still gave it 4 stars because of the case itself. It looks good, appears to be sturdy and good quality and keeps everything closed. Just don't use the clip and don't be in a hurry to receive it.

I waited for some 20 days for delivery which is in accordance to the announcement.

I got exactly what I expected and there is no deviance from the description on the web site.

The product is of an excellent quality, the leather is smooth and uniform all over its area.

The stitches are neat and strong.

Dimensions are perfect for HTC Desire Z phoneit fits perfectly and there is no danger the phone falls out.

Belt clip is something I do not use, as I do not like the phone hanging like a cowboy colt.

However, it is obvious that the clip provided with this leather case is very strong and qualitative.

The packing is very nice, everything is put into a strong box, with a color manual which explains in four images how to fit the phone into the case.

As a drawback I would mention that the case must be opened if you want to charge your phone. Did the producer forget about the hole for the charger, or they deliberately did not make oneI do not know. But it does not bother me, as I usually charge the phone during the night.

In conclusion, I recommend this casing to all who use HTC Desire Z phone.
