Kodak 4x6 P461 Personal Photo, Slide and Negative Scanner
- Scans any printed photo, from wallet size to 4x6 inch, delivering high resolution digital files for sharing or archiving
- Easily scans photographic negatives and mounted slides and delivers a crisp, clear positive image, ready for upload, printing or emailing
- Includes 2GB Micro SD card and SD adapter
- Includes Kodak Easyshare software to help you organize, share, and print your scanned photos
- Scans printed photos at high resolution 600 DPI and negatives at 1200 DPI
1. Odd color shifts appearing in the resulting scans.
2. Very noticeable noise in resulting scans at both 300 dpi and 600 dpi.
3. It is very difficult to obtain a properly cropped photo. The auto-cropping function is particularly annoying and there are no user settings to adjust how it acts. The whole point of having a scanner like this one is minimize the post production work necessary.
4. The instructions provided leave a lot to be desired.
Some redeeming qualities include the speed at which the unit scans, which is fairly fast. The size and weight also is very appealing. Most of the descriptions of this product fail to mention that it will also work on battery power which is a great selling point if only the quality of the output was acceptable.
In conclusion, while no scanner in this class and size is going to produce the kind of scans available from a flatbed scanner, this scanner leaves of lot to be desired with the scan quality. I expected better from Kodak. I will be returning the unit and spending my money on a different option.

This scans photos okay, although after about 300 photos there are significant streaks even though I cleaned the scanner like it said. The negative scanner works well and converts the image to a positive, color photo quite well. The slide scanner is the worst of the three, the images came out very grainy if the slides were even a little on the dark side. Kodak does not make this product, they have licensed their name to another company which makes it. I contacted customer support about the streaking issue, and even though they said they would get back with me, they have not in three weeks. This product does what it says it will, but just not very well.Read Best Reviews of Kodak 4x6 P461 Personal Photo, Slide and Negative Scanner Here
I love the Kodak P461 for scanning our old mounted slides! It is easy and doesn't take too long to scan. We had lots of trays of slides but it was such a pain to set up the projector and screen every time you wanted to see your pictures of the past. Now I can just put them through the scanner and they download effortlessly to my PC and I can make DVD's if I choose. It can also scan up to a 4X6 picture too! They come out just as clear as the actual picture or slide too. Love it and I am having a ball looking at our childhood pictures! The scanner is also very small and easy to store which is another good feature!I would definately recommend purchasing one.Want Kodak 4x6 P461 Personal Photo, Slide and Negative Scanner Discount?
This is the best portable scanner in the market so far. I have been looking for quite a long time and finally found this one. The picture quality is great.I decided to embark on a journey by digitalizing my family's photos. As it turns out, my grandmother horded tons of pictures (10 unorganized file boxes worth). I was using my 3 in 1 printer/scanner which worked fine except for the time it took. I came home from work to find it waiting for me on my doorstep. All you have to do is plug it in and put the sd card that comes with it in and scan. The picture quality is just as good as I was getting (all at 600dpi), so I'm pleased with that. Also, in the time that I can scan one picture with my 3-1, save it to my comp, etc, I've done about 10 with this! Maybe I have a really slow scanner, I don't know, but considering how many pictures I still have left to scan, this already seems worth it!Tuesday, July 29, 2014

"Clear See Through Snap on Hard Skin Shell Protector Cover Case for Lg Optimus S (Sprint) LS670 + Mi
Anyways, the case fits very snug on my phone, it's just a little bit confusing when it came to taking off the case. However I figured out that you just insert the pick, which pops off one side of the case and then you life the phone off in order to take off the case and you don't have to "pick around" to open the case . Anyways, my only concern is that I took it off a few time and I don't think I'll do that anymore out of fear of the case breaking. I get the feeling that the case was not meant for frequent removal.
I would say the case does help a lot, I can see some minor buff and wear on it, which means my phone is being protected.
The pouch on the other hand is a different issue. It's quite big and thin so I haven't used it, and just use the one my mom made which is much thicker, which I feel protects the phone further since screen protectors can only do so much against keys and other random crap in my bag/pockets.

This screen protector was the 2nd (type) 4th, 5th and the last kind I'll buy for my device. The first was an HP branded 3 pack. The first 2 of witch sacrificed themselves showing me how not to put them on the 210s raised edge screen. After a few months I did notice the screen was showing signs of wear. Originally I was gong to by another "some brand" 5 pack and didn't notice till I had the package open looking at only one anti-glare film. After 6ish months there were still no signs of wear like the other one, then I crushed the screen itself and had to send the unit back for repair. When it came back I did get one of the multi packs and was frankly very unhappy with the softer cheaper films. They showed wear very quickly and even affected the way the touch screen responded. I didn't even get halfway thro the pack before buying another ClearTouch Crystal that lasted for along time... I was working on a project at my desk and dropped a hook scribe maybe 6~8" skewering my screen at an angle leaving an 1/8" open gouge. I was pretty disgusted and sure I killed another screen. Luckily the unit kept working but I left the film on not wanting to see what damage I had done to the actual screen. Around a month later I got tired of looking at the torn screen and decided to just put on one of the remaining cheap'Os left from the multi pack. When I finally pulled back the ClearTouch the hook scribe didn't make it all the way thro the film; there wasn't a mark on the screen. The harder film took the hit and left the softer Digitizer unharmed. I've been using the current film from ClearTouch for about 8 months and yes it does have some signs of were but not enough that I would bother replacing even if using the cheaper ones.Just to put some of this into perspective. I am a Tech and use the 210 as a quick reference tool and to pull tons of log/error files from the machines I service. I use the hell out of the touch screen transferring files and scrolling across expanded parts views or wiring schematics. In my off time I've used it for everything from an MP3 player to picture viewer. Cheaper film may work ok for most but these cant be beat in my book for there longevity and the sheer amount of protection they do give. As far as putting the screens on theirs not really much difference. Their all a pain and the best way I've found is to wait until my wife takes one of her lava showers and steams up the bathroom. The steam clears the air and makes putting them on much easier.

Good points: Obviously far longer wearing than softer screen protectorsAnnoying points: Harder to install/curl off backing paper, No chance to practice with the first protector and live with the second, Too expensive to replace if you DO get a mar on the surface.
Replaced this brand with a different kind from a 15 pack of softer protectors (i.e., 15 protectors for almost the same price as 1 protector), and the end effect was much the same, as far as bubbles and ease of use were concerned.
BTW, I've also installed a hard protector like this on a cell phone, however the phone did not have a raised case framing the screen so installation was FAR easier even with a stiff protector. Also, on the phone there is no stylus wear that will make me replace the protector.
However, I haven't felt any reluctance to replace the softer kind I now use whenever I feel like it, as opposed to when it would be absolutely necessary.
They fooled me once, shame on them; fool me twice,...

Palm Centro 690 Crystal Clear Hard Plastic Snap-on Protective Faceplate Carrying Case with Removable
- Plastic Snap-on Protective Faceplate
- Crystal Clear Hard Case
I bought this primarily because of the price.
I needed a case and I also liked the idea of a belt clip and the advertised free lanyard would be great for carrying the phone while working out, riding my bike etc.
First, the item did arrive very quickly via USPS. However, I ordered two items from them, they combined the items into one envelope, but charged me two shipping fees!
There are no instructions but it is pretty self explanatory. That is until you go to try and take the cover off. Unlike how the other reviewer described it, the plastic is NOT heavy duty. It does however fit snugly and is a custom fit with all the right curves and holes.
The belt clip is a joke. The screw that is supposed to hold the belt clip keeps coming unscrewed which causes the phone to fall to the ground!
Also, I was hoping that when not using the belt clip I could just use the plastic cover and keep the phone in my pocket no dice, as the phone has this big uncomfortable nob on the back (the one that keeps falling off, leaving a screw exposed).
Lastly, the advertised free lanyard/neck strap was NOT included. I was hoping to use this when wearing shorts with no pockets.
There are plenty of low priced covers on Amazon I recommend you look elsewhere.
I give it two stars because you could use it as a cover only without the belt clip and it would probably provide some protection.this phone cover was cheap and came fast. However, the design was good, and it protected well. The only downfall was that one of my friends really really liked it-she wanted to see what it would look like on her phone....so i let her. well, turns out it didnt wanna come back off, but at least it was good. I let her keep it, and we laughed. But i dont even have service on the phone anymore, but it was good while i had it.I like this case for my phone. It is a heavy duty plastic which it great because I drop my phone a lot. It did break in one spot (after I dropped it for the 100th time!!) but it still fits together and works fine. I recomend this to anyone with a palm.

While I fully take the blame for this, I would prefer if Amazon did not mention this monitor is frequently purchased with HDMI cables as this monitor cannot use HDMI cables. Only now do I realize this after I got them. Other than that I am happy with my purchase of this monitor.Bought this for my wife who is a technical writer and needs to see 2 pages side by side in Open Office. Even without an HDMI input, the text is sharp and really pops out at you, probably due to the LED lighting. She can look at text on this monitor all day without eye strain. Before I gave it up to my wife, I "broke in" this monitor on a gaming rig for a week, and it performed very well there, too. The power supply is a brick but the cable going from the brick to the monitor is long enough to let you put the brick away somewhere it won't be noticed. The monitor itself is surprisingly light, but is very stable on the desk. Overall, this is a very nice monitor, especially if you don't have HDMI and already have speakers.I purchased this monitor as a second monitor for my MacBook, and it is fantastic. It is super clear and changing the settings are very easy. Pictures and videos look great!!! Everything you view is very sharp. This is an excellant buy for the money!!1Tuesday, April 1, 2014

1) the zipper can slightly obscure the charging port.
and
2) the zipper pulls are a bit larger than needed, occassionally getting in the way.
Other than that, the price is good, the build quality seems very good and it does everything I wanted.
I'm glad I found this case.I wanted to try the product for several days before I left any review on it. After several days, I feel confident that I can give an accurate assessment of the product. The product is labelled as being made from leather. It does have thick and strong texture like the full grain leather but the backing of the leather leaves me wondering whether it is imitation or synthetic. Leather also has a distinctive leather smell (from the tanning process) and this one is more chemical like. The inside of the cover is lined with synthetic suede. The cover core seems to be made from cardboard and so it is quite stiff. Some people may not mind it but I find I could not fold the front cover to the back of the Nook like I normally do with paperback book covers. The cardboard core stiffness did not give me confidence that it was a high quality product.
The way the color Nook is placed in this product is to slide it in from the top. It does have the appropriate openings for the volume controls, the off switch and the jack for the microUSB. The challenge for me was the zipper part sort of blocks the clean entry of the microUSB plug into the Nook and also pushing the microUSB into the Nook would make the Nook slide out this "leather" cover. Since it was so easy to slide the Nook in and out, I thought that this could present the danger if I had the cover unzipped and I had it upside down that the Nook could fall out the cover and into the ground (HORROR!!). So I am making the habit to at least zip the top part of this cover so it will not happen.
It is my opinion that the price I paid for is a little high for this product. It is stylish and protective for the Nook and OK for utility. The stand is only for horizontal landscape mode and if I was reading email, I would have to turn the Nook in vertical mode and this cover does not seem to have the facility and so I have to hold it in my hands.
ADDENDUM:
I had this cover on my Nook for a while and it is when I am reading the Nook that I notice strongly that I cannot set the Nook on its stand to read a book because of the horizontal stand. Nook Books are only for the vertical direction. So I have to hold it in my hand all the time or lay it flat on the table.
ADDENDUM 2:
There was a second Nook at home and despite the shortcomings of its inability for this cover to stand vertically, the positives outweighed the negative and so I purchased a SECOND ONE. And I realized why one commenter mentioned the velcro thing for this cover. The second one had a small case within the cover that was attached with Velcro. This model was more stable than the one I have as it did have Velcro on top to keep the Nook from sliding out. I purchased this from pcmicro store on a well known auction site as it was being charged for less than here and this same seller is selling here too.i looked at cases for my Nook between 19 and 80 dollars. I wanted good protection and most of all, I wanted it to zipper completely closed. This is the case I found that zippered close completely, and the Nook could not fall out. I read some reviews of the nook falling out of covers. I though that was unacceptable. I got the red case. I think it is classy. I asked my wife if it looked feminine, she said not at all. The Nook fits tight in this case in the the straps it goes into and I can not make it fall out even if I turned it upside down. Now I am not saying to bang it up against a wall either when you have it upside down. You can get to all controls. The only one is alittle funky to get to is the USB charge connection...You have to move the zipper away from the opening to push the USB connector into the Nook. Not a big deal for me. The only drawback is the tilt stand. Its nice for PDF documents. But you can not use it for reading books. The Nook will not orient that way for books, unless I am missing something. But I tried it and the Nook will orient for pictures but not for my books. It will for the net. So you can read the net or PDF while having a cup of coffee. I don't use the net to much. I don't think that is a strong point of the Nook. When you read books, you have to hold the left cover open. So its just like holding a book. I have a place for a nice stylus that has the soft bottom boot for using on the screen. It fits in the binding space inside. There is a small loop for it. I don't use the cover for credit cards. You have to watch what you put in there because that inside rests up against the Nook screen. So thats why I give it a four star. If it had a way to use it on the stand with my books, it would be perfect. and there is a magnet that holds the tilt stand up against the back cover, very nice touch. Those expensive good looking covers that are rich looking, I wonder if they have as much protection as this cover that I am reviewing, probably not. I value my possessions, so that is why I look for protection. I do not want a mistake to take my Nook out. I even would say you probably could drop the Nook from 3 feet and this cover would protect it from being smashed, but thats just my opinion. I am especially pleased with the purchase of this cover.I love the color, and it's quite sturdy. It fits my NC perfectly. I also like that you can remove the portion that houses the actual Nook Color and place it back into the case itself with velcro. That part is pretty handy. However, it isn't for those who want to fit your NC into a standard sized purse -granted, you can fit it into a huge purse. This is more of a standalone case.I have been looking for a protective case for my nook color, after some research I found this one, I bought it, and here are my comments:
Fits perfectly to Nook color
Once that is closed, the nook is protected from dust or any other environmental particles
the nook is really protected since the internally the case cover all the sides and corners of the nook
It is complete designed for Nook color, every button fits perfectly and you will access to On/off, volume and USB port
The leather feels good on hand and you really get a feeling of protection on your nook
Once on it, you can carry your nook just like a book.
I hope this will be helpful.

I've two of these for a few years now. Always relible. The red light is helpful in maintaining night vision when flying, sailing at night or just walking the dog. Due to Hurricane Sandy we were without power for 11 days. The two lensers quickly became the preferred lights, from a choice of mini maglights and stinger rechargeable. We used the lensers for everything, including reading for quite a while in the evening. I replaced the batteries on the day we lost power, and they are still going strong 11 days later. There are two minor flaws, they are not comfortable to hold in your mouth when you need both hands, and the buttons can be easily pushed accidently. I keep one in my brief case, and on a few occasions have found the batteries dieing when the light was accidently turned on. Easy enough to carry spare batteries, or check the light every now and then. A great light to keep in your briefcase, on the night table or glove box. Mine have been dropped several times, gotten wet in my boat bag and are still working great.LouI bought this light to use primarily when we're camping. It is small, light and very bright. The beam is not as tight as some, but for what I needed, a bit of a wider spread of light is good. I like the fact it has a red beam option but that is more of a novelty for me. To be more useful, the red beam could be about 10-15% brighter.
For general purpose, this is a great value and I would recommend it!I have a strange obsession with flashlights. I volunteer as a camp counselor during the summers and having a good, durable, quality light is invaluable. A bright white light is necessary for keeping track of campers at night, and a red light is necessary for being able to see at night in a cabin without disturbing others.
Normally I buy 90% of my camping gear from Amazon, but in this case I found these lights for DIRT cheap on a popular clearance website and bought three of them. The upside here is I have a good feel for the quality of these lights after opening and using three of them.
Pros:
The white light is very bright.
The red light is fairly bright. (You don't want this to be blinding as it would defeat the purpose of a red light...)
The light is small and easy to carry in a pocket without feeling obtrusive.
Water resistant so I don't have to fear rain / broken hydration bladders / drooling campers.
The case, lanyard, and carabiner they come with are a really awesome touch. I wish more flashlights had that.
Cons:
-1/3 of the lights I opened had a pretty "broken" feeling white light button which I fully expect will eventually fail me.
-The buttons don't feel very sturdy in general. Really loose and insubstantial.
-The textured/smooth button design idea was a great IDEA but very poorly executed. If you can feel the difference between the buttons you have much more sensitive fingers than I do. I have to scrape the buttons with my fingernail to figure out if it's textured. But even then it'd be easier to just click the button and find out by trial and error.
Summary:
Overall this is a great light. Certainly overpriced if you bought it at it's original $30. At the Amazon $22 I don't think you'll be disappointed. The cons regarding the "feeling" of the buttons are just about the feeling that they will break. They haven't, and still work fine, so I may just be paranoid.
I don't believe you'll be disappointed with this purchase.Needed both RED & WHITE LED lights for astronomical and household purposes. Works as advertised well constructed. Also, functions fine with NiMH AAA batteries, though have not measured operational times. WHITE light is BLINDING when viewed directly;: the beam is visible bouncing off of near evening clouds. The single red & multiple white LEDs are not mutually exclusive; i.e they can be energized simultaneously.

I tried 3 different SD card readers, none can read it although all 3 can read a Kingston 2GB card, and one card reader can read my other 8GB SDHC card. This is the first SD card I have problem with.Though my ASUS netbook (which has a built-in reader) is able to read it, it is still inconvenient.
Anyway, go with other brand like Kingston, Sandisk, Transcend, A-Data etc. This card works great and stores alot of pictures and video on my digital camera. The only con is that the card reader on our computer won't read a class 2 card. But that was easily fixed. I got a card reader with a usb cable that hooks up to the computer for about 1 4. No big deal. And now I can use that to upload photos on my laptop which doesn't have a card reader but does have a usb connection.
Just note that you may need a card reader especially if your computer's a couple years old.
