This device has become absolutely ESSENTIAL for me. This is a laptop without the bulk, and although there are limitations in surfing the web via mobile, the portability can't be beat. I can whip this out while I'm shopping, which I certainly can't do with a laptop or a netbook.

With some very good 3rd party apps, I am able to keep my finances straight, make as many custom lists I want, make handwritten notes, make type written notes. I jot things on the fly, whereas before I'd do it on scraps of paper, and then lose them, I can also make typrewritten notes and organize tham any way I please.

I can also modify photos, type letters in Word, open up spreadsheets.

The native WM apps, with exception of Office, like Notes, Media Player, IE, Calendar/Contacts, File manager aren't very useful to me, everything I do is mostly with third party sw like ListPro, Phatnotes, Phatpad, ewallet, NF Browser,Rescoe Explorer, etc.

I'm a Palm owner from 1996, but after trying the Palm TX for 5 days, I decided I had enough of Palm, which was a good decision since they've abndoned their PDA line.

Now, I'm an affirmed WM user, which despite its bugs and lockups, BLOWS the Palm out of the water, IMO. And unlike the Apple iTouch, it offers a number of ways to enter data beside the virtual keyboard. Also, it offers more apps than the Apple.

I hope (REALLY HOPE)HP continues with the PDA line, and with improvements to the 200 series. The screen on the 200 series is to die for. I can read electronic docs without any trouble, and scale the fonts larger or smaller to increase the space utilization.

The unit is large, but so what, it makes the smartphones look like toys with their tiny screens. Oh, the battery life. Using mostly Word, and other text based apps with occasional views of photos, playing lo level games like bubble breaker, and moderate access to SD card, I got anywhere from 8-10 hours. Not bad, considering this thing has to power the VGA screen.

The power utilization is better than with the 110 unit which I had prior to my getting the 210.

Minor quibbles:

1.Unlike the Ipaq 110, on this you need to put the stylus ALL THE WAY into the well. Otherwise it'll come flying out. With the 110, which I had also owned at one time, you could put the stylus in part of the way, and it would stay. I've gotten in the habit of doing this with my 210, because it's annoying to dig in to get the stylus out every time. I wish they'd designed the stylus and well like they did on the 110

2.The cable is a MESS. One part of it is the AC adapter with it's own cable. To that, you have to hook up the cable that actually connects to the bottom of the device for charging. The end result, the cables NEVER fail to get tangled up with each other and with other cables I may have on the power strip

3. Windows has its usual problems with lockups,etc. Nice to know things don't change.

4. As with Windows on the desktop, I'd LOVE to be able to UNinstall the junky apps like clearvue pdf reader, media player, IE, File manager, and free up some memory, but alas.

Major problem:

1. There's a process called gwes that seems to balloon in size everytime you surf the web, and eventually will cause an out of memory error. It's a pain, and then you have to reboot. There are definitely limitations in web surfing on this, and I use another browser, since IE is so bad. GWES controls the gui. The longer you have the browser open, and the longer you surf, gwes (along with my third party browser) gobbles up more and more memory.

Even after you shut the browser, gwes may not necessarily release the memory. Definitely frustrating, esp when you're waiting for a webpage to load, to get the out of memory error, and then you have to soft reset.

Nothing's perfect I guess.

Also, a generic problem with mobile web surfing, sites like Amazon don't load up like they would with all the bells and whistles on a regular browser. For example, you won't be able to access your Amazon account on the mobile browser.

However, this is a problem inherent in mobile browsing in general, and not a problem with the 210

UPDATE 6/21/10 Lack of memory. MAJOR drawback.

I alluded to this before, about certain processes being a memory hog. HP should have added a LOT more memory than they did, esp since it's a an Enterprise model. I have a WM phone which has more memory than this, but the screen is like a blackberry. Be warned, you will get lockups because of inadequate memory as you surf the web.

I have to put it down to 3 stars for this.

The Ipaq 210 was a nice upgrade from my Ipaq 3950. It is very fast and very stable. The biggest selling point for me was the bright 4" screen and the tons of freeware available. I considered the Ipod touch but I needed the Microsoft Office apps. The ability to create and edit Office docs make this a small computer. Transcriber and Word make a great team. The WiFi is strong and fast. I can stream WebTv, and YouTube fairly well. I took one star away because HP has not updated the software to Win Mobile 6.1 or 6.5. Also the touch screen can be "touchy". Make sure to get a screen protector!!!

I bought my iPAQ in May 2008. I was excited when I bought this product, however things soon changed. I noticed that the touch screen was not very sensitive. I contacted HP Customer Service and they said they would send a box to me that I could return the iPAQ for repairs; it never came. I contacted HP Customer Service two more times with the same result. Finally, HP escalated the issue to a higher priority and promised to have a Customer Service Agent contact me to resolve this problem. I gave them three phone numbers so they could reach me at any time. I have never been contacted. HP's CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTANT. I will never buy another HP product and I intend to tell all of my friends about what has happened to me. If you buy an HP product, you better hope that nothing is wrong with it.

I've had several Pocket PCs with the Del x50v & 51v being the most recent. This is a solid device in that it has an incredible screen and about much ram memory as you could use plus it's one of the few devices out that offers SD & CF card slots (may seem unimportant but you can upgrade this to over 40GB of memory for a little over $100 and soon over 70GB). The only two draw back I have is that one of the buttons can't be reconfigured and the ROM is a bit weak. However, other roms are becoming available which pull out it's potential. The battery life is very good. Without the new rom, I'd give it a four star, with it five.

I recently purchased the IPAQ 210 and switched over from my Palm TX that I had been using for several years. The 210 has the latest Windows Mobile 6 operating system, which seems to be pretty stable and also very wifi aware. I have been pleased with it so far. The available apps are good and it is very fast and responsive with an incredible 4" display. I would recommend it highly.

With large fingers, I kept hitting the wrong parts of the display, but everything operates very speedily now.

Checking at BestBuy, this stylus is better for my use than the ones they had on display and about half the price.

Sent this back. The rubber tip wiggled so is very imprecise. Unusable. I prefer the Griffin or Rocketfisf brands. This model looks great and is slim and long but works very poorly

I know some folks like to fool around with the high tech aspect of 'mousing' and 'entering' with fingers, and thats OK if you have slim fingers, and with good aim. it does what it says. it charges your phone while you use the headphones.

i use it primarily to stream internet radio while charging the phone.

even though the price i paid for it, $10 seemed steep for me, it was worth the investment.

the length overall is about 4 inches.

the only reason i give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the wires are quite thin and i am afraid that they will break. i have purchased Y cables of different types before where the cable per strand is as thick as a charging cable.

for this one, think of the charging cable split in two. thats about a good approximation of the diameter of each of the strands.

The case is very light weight and very thin. Outside is a semi hard plastic shell and inside is a fabric lining. Not quite as soft as I had antipated based on the description, but does just fine. Case would only provide mild protection against a drop but is well suited to protect against scratches from banging around in a bag. Case clasps closed with a friction latch. Doesn't hold it closed all that tightly, but enough so that it doesn't just randomly flop open. Only real down side is that the friction latch sits at a 90 degree angle from the cover so when you open it and flip it around to the back (like a book cover), it sticks out in your hand. I find if I rotate the kindle 180 so its upside down that minimizes the interference while holding it.

I purchased this cash register for my son's Little League concession stand. It seemed like overkill for a concession stand, but they've had issues with volunteers charging different amounts and/or giving the wrong change. (and the president of the league really wanted a barcode scanner.)

You want to be very careful to follow the quick start guide to set it up correctly. Fortunately, I'd read someone else's comment on an older model Sharp cash register, so I was prepared. IMPORTANT: If you put in the batteries and paper, plug in the power cord THEN reach for the quick start guide (which I probably would have done), you would have already messed up the initialization. Then, I learned from another comment that in the main manual, it says something about setting up a clerk #, which I did. After that, everything worked well.

Setting up prices is pretty slick. You can go into programming mode, scan a barcode and it will ask you the price and the department number. I also went in and set up the name of the item at that point. (That part is kind of a hassle, since you're doing it on a number pad, so for the letter "C", you're hitting #2 three times.) You're other choice is to download the free program and input the data in the program. The challenge with the program is figuring out at that point which SKU # to put an item name with. To me, it just seemed easier to go about it using the number pad. One idea would be to put in a short name using the number pad, then go back & correct it in the program. I also setup a button for some of the common things like Soda/Pop, Popcorn, Hot Dogs, etc. (by setting up a "Popcorn department")

After trying it out, I purchased a second one for another window and found that transferring the data was extremely easy. I saved everything to an SD Card (like you'd have in your digital camera) on the register I had already programmed, put the card in the 2nd cash register and uploaded it. It took about 3 minutes and all of the prices/ SKU's / product names were in the 2nd register.

As far as using it, last Saturday was our first day of having the stand open. People were able to figure it out pretty quickly. Everyone that's used it thinks it's pretty cool and easy to use.

I'll start with the few positives first. The PC Link software is pretty archaic but its simplicity is actually a plus and for the most part gets the job done. It's much easier and quicker than programming on the register itself. The hand-held bar code scanner is basic entry-level, you have to scan real close to the UPC to get it to register, but it does the trick accurately. I got used to that real quick.

Now the bad news. The User Guide is just plain awful. Even the Quick Start Guide was incorrect, you had to complete Step 4 before you started Step 2. I got past that after more than a few minutes of...huh? While the bar code scanner is accurate and allows easy entry who knows where it is stored and why. If you're scanning a bar code with PLU 00001 showing, it dumps the information into PLU 00020. In fact, it dumped all the product bar codes into that PLU. So, it works and recalls them on subsequent scans but without a unique PLU. The PC Link software accepted my receipt logo graphic after much defiance but it does not show up on my receipts. The logo must be exactly 360(W) x 130(H), in pixels, and be a black and white monochrome bitmap. Anything else and you get a software error message. When it did not print on my receipts it became painfully apparent that Sharp got their pixels backward. 130(W) x 360(H) would fit perfectly on the receipt but the software will not accept that. Hence, no printed receipt graphic logo. The receipt text message does work fine though. Manufacturer support for this product is non-existent. They tell you to contact your re-seller who knows less than you about the product at this point.

Perhaps I was expecting it to perform like a computer so shame on me. But, the reality is this register supposedly offers some similar capabilities but does not perform as advertised, period. I'd be willing to stand on 1 leg while rubbing my stomach and pressing a register key with my head to get it to work properly if it would resolve these issues, if that's what it took. Unfortunately, these nuances are not documented and not known by any tech support personnel I've talked with thus far.

Who knows if a Z report will actually work either. I haven't even gotten that far yet.

Not being a text-er, I was worried when told I needed to type in people's credit card numbers on my phone. Sure enough the typing was taking waaaay too much time to do so correctly for a time based delivery job. When I mentioned that I needed a stylus, my boss showed me how the phone could be turned sideways to make the keys bigger, but this still was not working well enough for me. Once this stylus arrived in the mail I had no problem hitting the correct icon or key. I also like the little chord and knob at end of stylus that attaches to the phone so it is not lost. HP iPAQ 100/110/111/112/114 Stylus

From the beginning was thinking that it was 3 pieces in 1 package as title for the product is "3x Stylus for HP iPAQ 100/110/111/112/114 Series" I've ordered 3 packages hoping for 9 pieces but received only 3 pieces. Quality of the product is OK, but shipment is too long, I wouldn't order it If new that it takes so long.

It replaced the original stylus perfectly. I thought it was overpriced but seemed to be the only option I could find. The product description claimed it has a pen but it was not there or not accessible not really an issue since the whole purpose of having an iPAQ is to eliminate the need for pen & paper.

I was havin problems finding a replacement stylus. HP does not carry them. I needed one that fit the configuration of my HP iPAQ 110. After a lot of searching I found one on Amazon and am so thankful for that. The stylus took longer to receive than I expected. It shipped direct from a supplier in China. I finally got it and am thankful. It is just the same as my original and it works as I had hoped it would.

I have had two Iomega (my two oldest, still working very well) and two Seagate (one malfunctioned about one year after purchase and had to be discarded, the other still works well, being newer with a lager capacity, but slower, that the Iomega) USB 2.0 portable drives. It is OKAY. It worked well for a few months, if that, and then the USB contact in the hard drive started to become loose from the internal circuit card, causing it to be intermittent whenever I plugged it into my computer. It's quite annoying when I'm in the middle of a show, and when I move the hard drive, the show cuts out.

Tuff-Luv Enhanced Polycarb Crystal Case for (Sony PSP-3000)

I had my doubts about this when I bought it, but it's turned out to be very useful.

It fits over the psp like a glove (and it doesn't scratch the psp!) and after about three months all the scratches that could have ruined my PSP were evident, so it obviously works.

Pros:

1. Slim; so it doesn't look ridiculous.

2. Little door in the back makes it so you don't have to take the whole case off to load a game in the cartridge.

3. It covers the screen!

Cons:

1. The latch that keeps the door in the back closed broke on one side after a while, but it still closes.

2. It truly does take damage, which is the whole point, but I'm sure in four more months I'll have to buy a new one.

If you're an adult and you don't drop expensive electronics and handle them with care, this is a good case for you. Putting this in a jacket, pants pocket, suitcase, etc really doesn't take up much more room than the PSP3000 itself. I've dropped it out of a bag onto a counter and it made a horrible sound but no damage to case or PSP. It does scratch like all cases, but that is the point, so you don't scratch the real thing. Lid that flips open to put games in is durable but does look like a kid could easily break it. So far it's the best case I've used for my little do it all toy.

Great product and great quality. I would give 3 stars because the parts can be hard to snap together, for umd door especially. But other than having to occasionally having to clean inside the case for dust its a cool case.

I have had this case for over a year, and recently brought a second one. The first one has "bumps" but has protected my PSP in my bag, falling out of my pocket onto concrete, and from day to day wear. I'm not a "gamer" and I don't watch a lot of movies or entertainment on this computer. The reason I bought it was so I could have a small, portable computer that I could use to log on to my hospital's electronic health system. I had a tablet in the past and it wasn't usable for this purpose.

After several months, I can say I am 100% satisfied with this little device. It works almost perfectly with my hospital's system (known as EPIC for those interested). I've logged in numerous times, from different locations, and have been able to put orders in and even look at CT's/MRI's. The device functions just as I need it too. The basic web stuff (checking sports scores, Google searches, managing my fantasy team, e-mail, etc.) is acceptable on this computer. Also, the Wi-Fi works flawlessly.

If faced with the decision, I'd buy it again.

Most 10.1 netbooks now are stripped down with the minimum memory, Windows 7 starter, no bluetooth, etc. I found that this one was recently released by HP for schools and offices (they don't list it in their home on line catalog). I have had it for less than a week and the set up went very well. The printed instructions we very basic and the on-line manuals (two--start up and reference) are general for many models and don't have some of the details I would like to have. I found that going from XP to Windows 7 wasn't as hard as I thought. There were a few things it took some time to find, but for the most part Windows 7 is more logical than earlier verisons. I am still trying to figure out which programs to remove that were added. However, it didn't seem HP put that many extra programs as compared with some companies. I did remove the Norton Antivirus and put my copy of Norton 360 which I had with 3 computer license. I plan to install the Apache Open Office and not the inclosed (to buy) Microsoft Office....I might use the Office Starter version (vs. purchase or activate an existing license).

Once I got it set up I did make a Repair Disk with my external DVD Drive and then did a System Image (mirror) backup on my external hard drive. I like the LED screen and the slightly (93%) smaller keyboard seems to be no problem. I bought my first netbook almost four years ago and got a Toshiba because it had a full key board. Unfortunately, the Toshiba netbook died....the motherboard and it was better to get a new one rather than the expense of reparing. There were some other mini computers which looked good and had good specs, but they were 11.6 inch which will not fit cross wise in my briefcase, so I needed to stay with the 10.1 inch. This one seems to be a professional version of the 10.1 netbooks. So far, I am very happy with it.

Small enough to carry around and fully functional. After a bad experience with an HP computer years ago, I was hesitant, but the little beauty reassured me with its performance. An extra was the Professional version that was included.

Purchased the HP Mini 1104 netbook from Universal Mania through Amazon. Upon receipt I discovered that the netbook screen flickered erratically with the movement of the mouse or any other operation. After contacting Amazon with my concern I was directed to the company which informed me that they did not handle repairs or returns for replacement or refund for netbook computers. I was informed that I should know not to request such support for items such as this and then told to contact the manufacturer. I guess I thought when you purchase something from a company, it would function properly... and if it didn't they would make good on the purchase. As for the product, I suppose if it worked, I might consider writing a positive review. Thanks, Universal Mania, for showing me how a terrible company operates and helping me learn the hard way which netbook NOT to buy!

this is about 30% thinner then the rubber cover I've been using and provides a snugger fit. So it makes for a better feel in your hand and feels smaller in your pocket. No problem using volume toggle or accessing inputs. And yes, this is a review for the soft gel skin, don't let your mind wander.

This case has a nice finish, good fit, and texture. It is easy to take in and out of your pocket as it is not as sticky or as thick as the silicone cases, and it doesn't attract lint like the silicone cases do.

There are two issues I have with this case. The first is that it required a lot of effort to press the buttons, especially the power button. The second issue is that the cutouts for the micro USB and headphone are on the small side, which causes problems with them popping out because they have the case between them and the phone.

The skin fits nicely over a Kindle 2 and protects it well. It's translucent enough to see the keys on the sides that it covers and adds a nice, non-slippery, grippy texture to the device making it even more pleasurable to hold for long periods of time. Don't bother with the screen cover. Not that there is really anything wrong with it, but it does reduce the sharpness of the text somewhat, and after awhile, I took mine back off. Just be careful with the screen and use a slightly damp microfiber cleaning cloth to clean the screen and keep your Kindle in a zippable CaseCrown carrying case designed for Kindle and you'll enjoy reading it a lot more than looking through the screen cover.

This case is sturdy, yet CUTE! The color is as vibrant as it appears online. Also, you cannot beat the price. I am very pleased with the transaction.
