I have found using the mouse pad is mostly what I use this for. I have used the keyboard section from time to time but I use it in the living room as a remote control to watch movies and check and see if I got email. If responding to an email is warranted I get up and use a normal keyboard. The back light is a great feature BUT you have to find the one button on the board to get the back light going and its not easy. The space bar is easy to find so you can pause and play videos using it. When it falls asleep I just mash down on the keyboard a few times to wake it up. It blinks a light when its on as it 24/7 making it easier to find. The charge lasts a long time I think its a couple of months between charges and I found that when the mouse pad is slow to react and the pointer gets jittery its letting you know a needed charging is coming. takes about an hour. The most annoying thing is you have to hold the pad very delicately from below the keypad to get your finder input on the touch pad to respond. Its still working just as it did when I got it, no reliability issues at all.

This one doesn't work out so well. Each time it goes to sleep, it can't see the connection when it comes back. Moving on the touchpad produces intermittent movement on the screen. In order for the device to be useful, you have to reset the USB connection. This means you have to unplug the USB radio, wait a moment, and plug it back in. You must do this every time you don't use the device for more than 5 or so minutes.

While it is working, it works well enough. The key layout is illogical (left and right arrows are opposite the space bar, and opposite their expected sides, for example). The key presses don't always register, and the tactile feedback is like the buttons are filled with sand, rather than making a solid contact.

Overall, it is only barely functional. Great form factor, though. If my experience is to be expected, i would not recommend.

Kudos to Royal on their new line of PDA's (DV1,DV2,and DV3). Small, portable, easy to use. While there is no graffiti language input, I found the on-screen keyboard quick and easy to use. This unit is excellent as an organizer, but lacks the ability to download software....

All units come with a docking station, external keyboard, and leather case (case is sent free from Royal when the registration card is submitted), and software for organizing and syncing.

I think Royal has done an excellent job of providing a quality unit. .... I found this an outstanding value....

I also was able to sync with my computer with no problem....

Bottom line... most people never use the "extra" features of the more expensive models, so why waste your money? My advice...go buy one, try it out....I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

It has the essential PDA features -touch screen input, hot synchs with the computer, 1 MB of memory, planner, memo, to do lists, time, currency converter, attaches to a keyboard... I got mine as a gift just before I was about to buy a popular brand and I am so greatful I got this for free because now I know the popular brand is hyped. There are some problems though. The unit hangs once in a while. The screen is smaller than the popular brand by about an inch. And the backlighting is not as clear as the one on the cellphones. In fact, it is hard to read in the dark. It also has no internet capabilities. But somebody graduating from the pocket planner should be okay with that. The only other major hitch is the 1 MB memory. But I think that shouldn't be a cause to worry if you regularly hot synch with your computer like I do.

If you own a 15-20 year old car, you will like this thing. Like an old car, the DV1 is quirky, but because I am more focused on cost (and I have never used a more expensive PDA or owned a new car), I am willing to put up with the shortcomings. It is only an organizer, you can not add software, but that is all I need. My DV1 has never died the big death (though you can see others have), but I can tell it is cheaply made (poor fitting parts). I have had some troubles with syncing with Outlook. I have leared, you have to pay attention to the settings on both DVsync and Companion Link, and still I am not sure why it does what it does. But on the whole I feel ok about syncing now. Outlook is the main reason I got this thing (I am finally using Outlook's calender in a shared setting). And the DV1 is ok for Outlook (maybe only Outlook), it transfers todo items, calender and contacts from (only) your main or root contacts folder. I have tried Royal's PIM for a different organizer, and I prefer Outlook. The DV1's form factor is pretty good, it is small enough to carry comfortably in a coat pocket, but just large enough to be easy to use. I never use the detachable keyboard, and while I see where it might make some data entry tasks easier, it makes others harder, so I feel no great desire to learn how to use it. If you need to take your Outlook information with you and even add a bit to it from the field, but you don't want to pay for anything else, this could be a good organizer for you.

After reading the description before buying, I thought that this might be just what I wanted. Not so. Instructions are not too clear, and the display sucks. You have to hold it a certain position to be able to see the display to do anything. It is supposed to have a backlit display, and it does, but what a joke. You can hardly tell the difference between backlit and not backlit. I have had other Royal electronics before and was very satisified. Not so with this . I really expected a whole lot more from Royal.

This is a very good pda. I actually got it at circuit city, not on amazon.com, but still they are the same product. anyways this is a really good pda. it doesn't have internet and software connections, so if your looking for a pda with that you should look for something else. otherwise, this is a good product for if you want to be organized. for instance it has a phone book, even with the tabs so you can skip to a certain letter. Also it has a to do list, and you can check them off once you have done it. also it has a memo area where you can just write down quick memos. Also it has a planner where it gives you the whole month view. Another thing i like about this is that it lets you view what you have written. you don't even have to click on it. it shows you the first line that you have written, on the bottom of the screen. Also it has an area where you can set up things like when you want the week to start, sound on or off, when the auto shut off should kick in, and the format that you want the date set in. I received the Wilson Sleek in good order and faster then I usually receive items. I looked over the Wilson Sleek and realized the antenna connector on the Wilson Sleek and the connector on the Wilson 800/1900mhz antenna were the same.

I called Wilson Electronics and spoke with technical support and explained to him that all 4 of my Wilson antenna's had the same connectors (one for each vehicle and my big rig). He said he would send me the adapter immediately and at no charge!

I received the adapter in just a few days and it fit all my antenna's to the sleek. I mounted the 800/900mhz antenna and the Wilson Sleek to my car and plugged it in. Placed my phone (Commando)in the cradle with the supplied phone holders.

I live in SW Wyoming where it is difficult to get cell service (no bars). Just putting the phone in the cradle I had 2 bars and when I made a call to California the phone jumped to 4 bars.

Major issue is the return policy. I didn't even get to try the product since I would have had to order another $20 worth of stuff or so to make it work at home which is why I ordered it in the first place, thus I returned it. I was only given about $54 on the $78 product. Also it cost me about $8 to return it. Total amount lost was about $35. If I had known that it was to be used in a car, and that I needed additional parts to use it at home, and that I would be out the $35, I would at least have ordered the additional parts to try it at home. Amazon is shipping the wrong antenna with this Booster. Wilson Electronics has told them many times that the antenna they are shipping with this Booster will not work. Hence the whole package is worthless. This is the first time Amazon has not done the right thing and I am a very big customer of Amazon.

I believe it's one of the better cases out there for the Nokia E7 phone. Previously owned a "flip" case where the phone snapped into the holder and you just flipped open the cover to reveal the phone. However, these added to the already big size of the phone and made it difficult to hold when you slid open the keypad to text. This case held the phone quite nice and when you tool out the phone you had access to all the features of the phone without being hampered by the case.

I was simply looking for a slim but durable case to protect my 211 and this case exceeded my expectations. It fits my device well and adds little additional bulk. The clear cover is a nice bonus in that it allows me to view the screen and button navigate without having to open the cover. I did not expect to be able to use the touch screen through the clear cover since that would defeat the purpose of the case. If I could touch the screen through the cover then I could also break the screen through the cover as well.

The only down side in my opinion is that the finish is relatively slick to the touch increasing the possibility of it slipping out of hand. I may have to add some sort of "non-skid" material of my own.

If you purchase this case be sure not to discard the clip post by accident. I found mine wrapped up in a bubble wrap pouch that was apparently used to protect the inside front cover during shipping it was more than just packing material. The item was shipped the same day that I placed the order and it was easily tracked through Amazon while it was in transit.

I bought one three months ago and use it almost everyday. Not that it is so great I can't put it down only that there is no other device I could find that is any better. I read the reviews so I knew what I was buying poorly documented hard to learn difficult to use same basic technology used 5 years ago for scanning and speech generation. However it did have one very strong feature a good vocabulary which was a must for the application I had in mind. Reading German books and helping me translate the 27 letter words that I hadn't learned in 15 years of learning 26 letter words.

The pros: scanner so no need to type. Fast. Light. Stand-alone. Extensive vocabulary. Good audible pronunciation almost human to understand.

The cons: Instructions impossible to understand have to figure it out yourself ended up calling their technical support (which was very good). Hard to use. Scan must be exact or it won't recognize the word. They provide a plastic guide "training wheels" for first time users which gives a pretty good idea how fussy it is VERY!! I have to scan a word sometimes 5-6 times before it will finally recognize it. Program does not have any kind of approximation software the slightest overlap or underlap or missing a character or hesistation when scanning and it comes up with garbage. It comes up with garbage often. A real problem I had no idea about when I bought it is it won't work with rechargeable batteries. When I replaced the original alkaline AAA batteries with my own NiMH batteries it wouldn't work because the voltage of alkaline batteries is slightly higher and it is EXTREMELY sensitive to low voltage. Meaning you have to buy new batteries every 10 hours. BUMMER !!!

Conclusion: it works. It is using an incredible amount of technology unfortunately it is 5 year old technology. Is it worth buying? NO if there was something better. For the price it is probably worth it I'd gladly pay twice the amount if there was.

Got my Wingstand today and I already love it. It was just a tad tight getting it on the keyboard the first time but I've got this sliding action that works perfect. Supports my iPad perfectly for typing and works as great stand. My only one issue is that the legs should have rubberized grips so it does not slide around when you tap on the screen, but I also have a very slick desk. I'll pick up some grips at Target or something and everything will be perfect. Can't wait to use it in class. Great price for an simple but very useful product.

My overall objective of buying this product was to utilize my iPaq 3900 series (which was laying in my draw from last 3 years and doing nothing) by converting it into GPS receiver display. I bought BT-359W GPS receiver (which is also very impressive) and attached that to my iPaq using Bekin product. The connectivity was so smooth. Never drop the signals. It (Belkin F8T006 Bluetooth Wireless CompactFlash CF and PCMCIA type II PDA and PC Adapter Combo Card) worked very efficiently, not only with my GPS receiver, but other BT supported devices as well. The only problem, I had so far, is that my iPaq gets hang if I turned it off and on back again. Could not figure out why is it doing this? The interim solution of this problem is to perform a soft reset in my iPaq and then every thing works great.

Overall this product, really worked great. I am happy that I utilized some thing from my old stock. Now my iPaq is out of my old stock draw and that space is empty for some thing else º

The battery came very quickly. I simply pulled the one old out and put the new one in. My Axim came to life once again, I charge up the battery and sync'd it up. All is well again with this device.

UPDATE: After using this for awhile I now realize this is not a CHARGER but a battery EXTENDER, it allows you to use the mifi on AA battery power.....without actually recharging the mifi battery. I decided to order a different charger. If anyone asked, I would not recommend this.....I would buy a REAL charger instead.

I have been looking forward to a unit like this, and I was excited to get one when I found it, but...

POOR PLACEMENT OF USB SOCKETS

After ordering it, I began wondering why it was arranged the way it was. For starters, what is that odd grey thing at the bottom? Well, that's for managing cords. Unfortunately, if I arrange the cords to wrap around it, they will end up being in the way of the USB sockets, making them hard to access. Similarly, they put two special sockets at that end that have extra space around them for plugging in transformers ("wall warts"), but using them often covers the USB sockets. And yet the USB charging sockets are the unique feature that you're paying the extra money for!

If they had put the USB sockets up near the switch, they would have been away from all the sockets and the cord management device, and never blocked by the larger AC plugs and cords. Too bad they did not make locating the USB sockets the priority in the design.

DIFFICULT WALL MOUNTING AND OTHER DESIGN ISSUES

The unit has a curvy shape instead of rectangular like most others. That might even be attractive if it was not so bulbous, but it makes it difficult to mount on a wall and be level. They provide no drilling template for the holes on the back, so you need reference points, and the curves of the unit make it very difficult to measure. In the end, I was not satisfied that it was solidly mounted, so I drilled a hole right right through the thin plastic just past the cord management device, and put a screw through that. That probably voided the warranty, but at least it is solidly mounted.

If you mount this device on the wall, it appears to be intended to be mounted vertically, at least, it would be natural to have the letters oriented to be read that way, and the switch on top. But why then is the cord on top, when sockets are usually close to the floor? Form over function, I guess.

INADEQUATE USB POWER

Here's the real problem with this device. The box says that each USB socket provides 750mA. That isn't very much power. The USB 2.0 specification call for 500 mA per port, so that's ok, but the USB 3.0 specification requires 900 mA, so it is not up to spec. It is enough for many telephones and mp3 players, but not some Apple products. Example: an iPad requires 2000 mA to charge, so you will NOT be able to charge your iPad from a USB socket with this power strip. There does not seem to be a fuse; unless there is some auto shutoff circuit, there is some risk of damage to the power strip electronics if you try.

CAUTIONS IN USE

You should always plug a power strip directly into a correctly wired and grounded (three-wire) wall outlet, and not another power strip or extension cord, for fire safety reasons.

You should NEVER see the "Not-grounded" light lit up. If you do, it could mean faulty electrical wiring that could lead to a fatal shock (call an electrician and get it fixed), or it could be a faulty unit. Similarly, you should always have the "protected" light on; if you don't, contact the manufacturer and ask why not (probably a faulty unit, or not plugged in/turned on).

One review said their unit buzzed or hummed when they used the USB socket to charge a device. That would indicate a faulty device which should be replaced; mine is totally silent in operation.

BOTTOM LINE

USB charging sockets is a great idea, but this unit has a poor arrangement of only two of them, and they are relatively low power. Yes, it works, but it is inconvenient to use, it is expensive for what it is, and it does not provide enough charging power. Given the price, design, inadequate power, and difficulty to mount, it rates three stars: "It's OK".

Soon there will be imitators, and some that will have much better designs and features. A simple power strip that includes USB outlets placed in a convenient location and can be mounted easily would be better than this.

Until then, if you want to mount things to a wall to tie things down and control clutter, my suggestion is to simply buy a regular power strip and a cheap powered USB 2.0 hub. Even if you don't connect the hub to a computer, it will still charge your devices, and the combination will cost you less than this overpriced and oversized thing.

I liked the design. It makes bigger plugs fit well without blocking sockets. I have an ASUS Eee pad and the usb charger doesnt work if plugged directly to the usb port of this adapter. hence i have to use the factory supplied power adapter.

Bought this since I planned on using a long 15 foot USB cable in my front room for phone charging. However, the USB ports on this thing are marginal at best. It wouldn't even charge my phone. I swapped that cable out for a 6 ft one, and it now barely charges. If you are thinking of purchasing this for the USB ports, just buy a surge protector and an external USB port charger. It's works better that way.
