The iPad cover is very functional. I stays together well and is very easy to use. I like to watch tv on my iPad in bed, and the stand works well for that. I am worried about the longevity of the magnet and the leather, however for now it is great.I mainly got this for my 4 year old son so he can watch movies on his iPad. The kickstand is made out of cardboard and bends really quick very poorly made would not recommend this case if your looking to use the kick stand.Want eForCity Compatible with Magnetic Apple® iPad® 1 Leather Case Cover w/stand Black Discount?
Protects your iPad, but it's not very functional. When you want to use it on a table, it only reclines at a certain angle. It almost sits at a 90 degree angle. The quality is better than expected. Only negative is the flap magnet seems a little weak, we'll see how it hold upTuesday, September 16, 2014
Targus PA830U Stowaway Portable Keyboard
- No More Lost Data Now Do More Anytime, Anywhere with The Full Size Portable Sony Clie Keyboard
- Folds to Fit In Your Pocket or Purse
- Built In Dock Eliminates The Fuss of Cables
- Special Keys Directly Link You to Calendar, to Do List, Address Book, Memo, & Many Command Buttons,Such As Done, New, Details, and Cancel
- Short-Cut and Function Keys Allow Maximum Efficiency
After installing and syncing the necessary (included) software, which took about two minutes (tops!), the keyboard worked great -just as it did for my Palm.
I now use it to input data wherever words are required; such as in my address book, calendar, memo, and Task List (using Franklin's Dayplanner software, version 7.3). I can also print (any of the above) from my Clie (just as I did on my Palm) to almost any IR (infrared) capable printer using Docs To Print (available from ISComplete.com).
I take the keyboard to meetings (where everyone is blown away by the unit's small size when folded -and full-size keyboard when unfolded); and when I use my phone or computer to check voice mail or e-mail, respectively (to more quickly enter notes or items upon which to follow-up).
Other's scoff at the idea of using a PDA for word processing. With the Clie's high-resolution color screen -and with Targus' full-size fold-out keyboard -I'm the one getting the last laugh when I arrive at meetings empty-handed (and without a laptop), with both my Clie and Targus keyboard in my pockets -and no pieces of paper to transcribe or file afterwards.
The only time I need paper is when my Clie is unavailable -while syncing!
The Clie is great! But the Targus Stowaway Portable Keyboard makes it even better!

Don't make assumptions. I was referred to this keyboard after buying a Clie PEG-SJ22u. It doesn't work with this model. I've since come back and taken the time to read the full product description, which is accurate. I'm sure that this keyboard works fine with the models it is designed for, but be sure that you confirm that it works with your model before you buy. Amazon doesn't always direct you to accessories that work with your PDA. I assumed otherwise, and found out the hard way that I was wrong.Read Best Reviews of Targus PA830U Stowaway Portable Keyboard Here
This is simply the best addition I've bought for my Sony Clie. The drivers installed quickly and flawlessly. The keyboard is a trifle thin but is of the perfect size even for my large hands. The typing response is quick and with the various function key combinations, you'll never need a stylus again.Arrived Tuesday and installed without any problem. No surprises as the Keyboard has been on the market for other devices for some time. I won't travel without it!Requires a rather spacey flat surfact to work on, so you might have to carry a hardcover book with you if the room doesn't have a foldout table. Other than that, this product, along with my clie 760 has really made note taking a breeze in college, and having all the files saved on my computer makes indexing that much easier. Overall, I would highly recommend this product, along with a small PDA over any laptop.Thursday, September 11, 2014
PDair Leather Case for Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989 - Book Type (Black)
It has some card slots on the inside so that is nice if you only need your ID and phone. The belt clip is swivel and removeable (but I have not used it). It had a weird smell but that has gone away and I feel it is real leather. This is a quick ship considering it came from overseas. I searched and searched for alternatives and a better price, but no luck. But the price is reasonable. I did find this brand has a flip up version versus opening like a book. You do look goofy putting it to your ear. You could slide it out but it is a snug fit so that would get old. I just use my bluetooth or speaker. If you order this, make sure you acutally have a Galaxy II from T-mobile.Couldn't be happier with this buy. From the protection of the phone to the card holder, you've gotta love this case from end to end! Great buy!

I use this case to protect my phone from scratches & rough handling. It works fine. I do not use the attached (rotating) clip. I have had a bad experience with rotating clips as my prior phone (an old, but venerable Palm Treo 650) would fall out when the clip rotated without warning.---
What would I like to see? (And, yes, I know that this would cost extra. I'd be willing to pay.) A nice, heavy, brown leather case with a fixed clip. I haven't found one yet.

This case is a nice leather protector. Quality stitching, magnetic snap/closure. Screen cover has two pockets for ID, Credit cards, etc. Padded, leather covered, and proper sizing. It comes with a belt clip that was less than satisfactory. Broke the first day of use. Was able to disassemble and repair. Free swinging, will not lock in a particular place. Was able to use an existing clip from a Body Glove protector that has a built-in stand and did not swing freely. All together it was well worth the money. Shipped from Hong Kong but arrived early. Very happy since I have dropped it several times with no harm.Looks good, expensive.

Pro's:
Low profile, light weight very little added bulk
Easy to install just clicks in
All ports and speakers exposed for ease of use
Rubber edge protects screen when put face down
Stylish without being over the top
Con's:
Not as much rubber less impact absorption
Not a high-gloss finish as described
Green is more yellowish/neon
High Price Point
Mostly happy with my purchase so far. We'll see how it holds out.The colors on the case are beautiful! Better than how it looks online. The case is great. For me, I think I should have gotten something that protects and covers the screen when I am not using it. Recently while traveling I was worried the screen might get bumped and scratched in my purse. Overall this is a really great case.

I gave this case as a gift to my daughter for her Kindle. She seemed pleased with it and it served its purpose. This case makes your Kindle look really nice. It has a rubbery feel, so the Kindle doesn't slide in your hands. It fits super snug so it won't fall off. Full access to all ports. Great corner protection if you drop it, but no screen protection. Doesn't add bulk to the Kindle, which is already pretty heavy in my opinion.Want Hard Candy Cases Print Series Case for Kindle Fire, "O" (does not fit Kindle Fire HD) Discount?

BoxWave Garmin Nuvi 350 ClearTouch Anti-Glare Screen Protector (Single Pack)
My GPS unit WOULD NOT WORK with the screen protector in place. I applied it carefully according to directions. So, I cannot recommend the product.
Boxwave's customer support was great--They sent me a prepaid return label and cheerfully gave me a prompt refund.
Great idea if it would work! The item as delivered simply does not fit properly. It is larger than the Nuvi 350 screen. I had to cut both the width and height slightly to make it fit. Since the advertisement is clearly for a "Nuvi 350" protector, I found this ridiculous.
I e-mailed the company and they said I received the proper item, it wasn't the wrong one. Instead of modifying it, they said I should have asked for an exchange, even though I received the right thing to begin with. What would be the point?? Waste a couple weeks of my time with shipping back and forth to get the exact same thing?
Buy BoxWave Garmin Nuvi 350 ClearTouch Anti-Glare Screen Protector (Single Pack) Now
I ordered this item when I purchased my Garmin Nuvi a year and a half ago. It has been extremely reliable and has saved my Nuvi from a host of potential screen-scratches (the Nuvi fell off of the dash and fell between the seats of the car, wedged between two metal pieces -NO SCRATCH). I highly recommend this item, but be prepared to throw a fit or two when applying it to the screen! To reply to other reviews, it doesn't get rid of glare altogether, but it certainly helps reduce it. I have no functional problems with my Nuvi -it is extremely sensitive even with this protective cover on.For an anti glare screen, it does nothing, repeat nothing. The only thing it does is add a layer of protection to the expensive screen of your NUVI, maybe it will make it last longer, but it sure won't help the glare.

these clear screen savers are worth every penny, you may not think that your finger tips will scratch the screen, but when you have to replace the screen down the road because of the fine scratches you will wish you had taken my word for it.Thursday, June 19, 2014

- Modem-On-Hold: allows you to answer an incoming call without losing an Internet connection on the same line.

One side note: It needs to be plugged into the actual USB port vs. a USB hub as the hub isn't going to have enough power for it.

I bought this modem to use on my Mac Mini running OS X Snow Leopard. This Mac Mini computer does not have a built-in modem. I wanted to fax from my computer.
The modem came with software, but it is not needed. Just hook it up to the computer's USB port and plug in the phone line, and you're good to go. The computer automatically recognized it as a USB modem, and I was able to fax successfully with no problems. Highly recommended!
====
One foible noted as time passes: I am using FaxStf Pro software to fax. Virtually every time I update my Mac OS Snow Leopard software, then Faxstf can't find a modem. Experience has taught me to unplug the modem from the USB port, leave it off a couple minutes, then re-plug it. Then check system prefs for print/fax (be sure you're not set to receive faxes in the system prefs), check network prefs under "advanced" to be sure you have selected the "Universal 115k" driver, then re-boot--and then re-open the Faxstf software and try again to reset the modem. This usually will enable Faxstf to get back up and running.
====
2nd update: I now read that this modem also works with Lion OS because it is 64 bit, unlike the Apple modem which is 32-bit.

I'm using this on 2 different Win XP computers. I have sent and received faxes through a Vonage (VoIP) telephone line and a regular tele. line. No special settings were needed. I'm using the windows faxing tool (printer) that is part of XP.BTW I opted to only install the modem's driver and did NOT install the optional software that allows "call waiting" calls to be answered when dialed into the internet.
When I used it for a dial-up internet connection, it got a 44kpbs connection right off the bat...which was great for the place from which I was dialing.
When the line rings at my place, a little box pops up saying to click here to answer this call if it is a fax. (too bad no caller ID info appears...) but it does receive the faxes just fine.
Limitation I've discovered... if a receiving fax machine is an answering machine that says to "push * to send a fax"... you can't send it that way very easily. It is better to have the person answer the call at their fax machine then they push the send/receive button for the fax to start going. Then fax goes fine.
Also, I was hoping that my DELL All-in-one 942 would see this external modem and thereby enable my AIO to send faxes like it is supposed to do. So far, I've not been able to get the AIO to see this modem and activate the AIO's faxing feature... I'll keep trying. (I get a "no modem detected" message from the AIO.)
Other info:
the two lights are OH (Off Hook) and Data (blinks as sending/receiving data)
The modem has no built in speaker. It uses the computer's speaker to play the classic modem beeps.
Sending of faxes is silent.
The box also contained a two wire phone cord.

After installing the new Mac OS Lion, I lost the function of the Apple USB modem that I was using. I ordered the Zoom 3095 USB modem and replaced the Apple product. Of importance: pay no attention to the installation instructions included by Zoom; they include copying a modem script file to your computer which is not necessary. Go to the support section for their modem and there you will find easy to follow installation setup instructions in PDF format.Once installed, the Zoom modem works great. Zoom needs to update their installation and setup instructions with an insert for OS Lion users.I had purchased this Zoom USB modem for use with my new 2011 13.3" Macbook pro as emergency backup for when my broadband internet is down. Install is as easy as plugging it in, going to network preferences, and entering your information. When I first set up the modem, I was getting extremely slow connection speeds, frequent disconnects, and was about to return the modem. Before doing this however, I decided to do a little research on the net. I discovered that other people were also having problems, due to the Apple magnetic power plug that is standard on this laptop. My solution was to use a 3 foot M/F usb extension cable that I had lying around to get the modem away from the power plug, and the modem now works like it should. I hope this helps someone else if they have this same problem.
Update: To increase speed, select generic, then dialup device, under modem name in network preferences. I was still getting random disconnects when I selected Zoom as the modem type, which the manufacturer suggests in their instructions. Zoom needs to update their instructions to reflect this

Small Fan & Mini-Air Conditioner: The Original Handy Cooler, Blue
- Small fan cools air up to 30F. Runs on 4x batteries or USB power (adapter included). Adjustable analog speed control.
- The original Handy Cooler as featured in the Technology Review magazine (M.I.T.) 2010.
- Our cooling fan utilizes a 30db whisper-soft turbine system. The perfect desk fan for the office.
- 90 degree vertical airflow control. Flat bottom surfaces allows easy transformation from a hand held fan to a desk fan.
- This mini fan produces a 15 knots sensational breeze *measured at outlet vent.
- Simply add water to activate patent-pending cooling feature.
I've had the handy cooler for just over a year now and so far I really like it. It's been lying under my bed for the whole winter, but now the heat is back and I've brought it back in action.
What I liked:
The design. Looks good. Feels good. I like the swivel vent head too.
Portability. I bring it around to classes, work and around home.
Performance. Cools like a charm.
Size and weight.
What I would like to see improved:
Rechargeable lithium battery option. The unit is not capable of recharging batteries. However, I recommend getting 4 rechargeable batteries, and charge them with battery docks. It'll cost you $40+ but will save you on the long run.
Longer cooling duration.
a longer USB cord!
It's a nice little fan with a twist, but be sure to stock up on batteries.

Yes, this little puppy really does work as advertised. Just wet the sponge, turn the unit on, and point the air stream at your face.Ahhhhhh...
The Handy Cooler appears to be well built. The fan is very quiet. You can put the unit on a desk or tabletop, and it will blow a nice stream of cool air at you.
I like the way you can rotate the air head ninety degrees, giving you greater flexibility in positioning the unit. I also like the little water bottle they give you, which holds two "recharges". Yes, they have figured out how much water you can add to keep cool without water dribbling from the unit. They figure you can go from thirty minutes to three hours on a "full" sponge, depending on your environment.
I have told the company that makes the Handy Cooler that they need to introduce a shoulder holster, so you can wear it around and use it hands-free. In the meantime, I am going to see if I can rig up some sort of shoulder sling or something that will suit this purpose.
At any rate, if you hate the heat, the Handy Cooler is the real deal -cool relief to go. HIGHLY recommended.
My only gripe, as another customer commented, is the high UPS shipping charge. A lower-cost USPS shipping option would be welcome...
And yes, I use NiMH rechargeable batteries, and they last for hours on a charge. Ahhhh...

I'm in the Navy, therefore I sleep in a tiny, tiny, often hot space with no air circulation. I ordered this because there is only so much night-sweat and dude-funk one can take in this sort of environment. It just came in the other day, but it appears sufficient to cool a cramped, curtained, coffin-like enclosure! The noise at high-speed is a total non-issue; trust me, the engines drown it out completely. If you're ordering one of these for your sailor, I recommend the pink one. The guys who've seen it all want one, but nobody is going to steal something in pink.Honestly, I wish it were less expensive, but the build quality is solid enough that I think it'll survive until I get back, and that's really all that counts.
Want Small Fan & Mini-Air Conditioner: The Original Handy Cooler, Blue Discount?
I suffer from Hot Flashes induced by Cancer medications and HRT withdrawals; I found this product to be exactly what I need. I spent a ton of money on small personal fans, all endorsed or made by major retailers like Coleman, Brookstone, Target and many more. I should have invested in this product first. My hot flashes come on about every 45 minutes, 24/7. I have been told by my doctors this can be expected for the next three years. My daughter found the Handy Cooler online and sent me the link. I found the product to be very intriguing, opposed to the pile of personal fans that were cluttering my desktop, end tables, car, purse and trash can. I ordered it immediately. This little cooler provided immediate relief within seconds of adding batteries and water to the sponge. Now when I start feeling warm I turn on my Handy cooler and the cool air starts flowing. I use it everywhere. It prevents me from turning into a giant mess. I'm on the go and very active indoors and out, this product has been fantastic, for me personally a life and sanity saver. I would recommend this product to anyone. I think it is fairly priced for a personal fan that provides more than a breeze but an actual Cooling effect. Thank you, Handy Cooler.I don't tolerate heat well at all and when I made plans to attend an all-day outdoor event in Eastern NC a few weeks ago, I knew I had to bring something other than just a sweatband. Stumbled across this on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It is terrific! It fit in my normal-sized fanny pack with an extra set of batteries and the little water bottle, along with a small still camera and a Flip video camera. By midmorning my t-shirt was soaked and I had already wrung out my headband twice, so I found a little shade and fired this guy up. It is just amazing the fan alone would be great, but the air blowing out of it is genuinely cool! Not like your car A/C blasting on max, but still unbelievable. I ran into several people throughout the day who looked and looked and finally said "what IS that?" and I explained and let them try it. I think I made a few sales. Within 20 minutes I had wrung out my headband and stashed it away for the last time that day.
If you're going to be out and using it consistently all day, load up with new batteries in the morning and take an extra set.
I like this so much that I decided to order a replacement sponge (the one the comes with it advertised to last about a year). They come in a two-pack for $10. I thought that was a little pricey for pieces of sponge, but OK. When I saw that the shipping was an additional $12 for two lightweight slices of sponge, I wrote a nastygram to the manufacturer. They wrote back. They are embarrassed by that and are working to develop an alternative that won't cost so much (UPS is going to charge something to deliver a box, no matter what's in it). I work in IT in an order fulfillment/shipping operation and I know it takes a while to put a system in place, so bear with 'em they are trying to get the shipping costs down to a reasonable level. And no, I have no interest of any kind in this company! I'm usually pretty cynical but got the impression these folks are trying to get it right.
All that said, this product is worth every dime I paid, shipping included. I would buy again, and I would recommend to a friend.

My first problem was getting the SuperPen Professional to link to my computer using the included Serial connector cable so I could upload scanned text to my computer. Although I loaded the software from the included CD-ROM on to my new Windows XP computer which had very few other applications or devices loaded on it, the computer could not connect to the pen. I followed the instructions to set both the pen and computer's baud rate to 115200, but this didn't resolve the problem. The Wizcom website suggested downloading the latest software version, but I couldn't find a link to download the applicable software. An email to Tech Support explained that the lastest software version is available at:
http://www.wizcomtech.com/Wizcom/support/updates.asp?fid=139&pfid=177&mid=10
and scroll down to Install or upgrade your Desktop by downloading and running the QuickLink Desktop installation program (4.9 Mb). Click on the link and save the file to your hard drive.
Once the file is saved to your hard drive, double-click it's icon and follow the instructions.
A call to Tech Support resolved my connection problem. It turned out that I needed to have the flow control on my computer's serial port set to hardware flow control. This was easy enough to do. I just wish that this advice had been published in the manual or on the web site. Ultimately, I did get the computer connection to work with the included serial port.
When connecting, I got an error in the Quicklink Desktop software until I disabled an option for Microsoft Outlook on the QuickLink Desktop application.
I'm having difficulty getting accurate scans with this pen when scanning articles in trade magazines. The articles have fairly small text that is divided into three narrow columns. Since I have to scan each short line separately, it is quite time-consuming to scan selections from an article. I often have to scan three lines to capture a complete sentence. When I couple the slowness of the scanning process with the effort needed to correct mis-spelled or incorrectly read scans, it becomes faster to use a computer to re-type my notes than it is to scan them. The user interface on the pen for making corrections on this device is awkward.
The dictionary feature is nice, but it was more of a hassle to properly scan the word in question than what I wanted to go to to get a definition. Perhaps a separate electronic dictionary where you could type in the word would be easier.
I got the best results when holding the SuperPen at a 90 degree angle to the text.
I used the scanner to scan content from a book, and found that the scanner was more efficient when scanning pages with longer lines of text than it did when I scanned magazine articles.
The SuperPen Professional is a great concept, but I prefer that it was easier to operate.

Been working with mine for about a week, and am disappointed to report that the negative reviews are spot on.I too had trouble linking it to the PC. Ran into the hardware flow thing. Easy enough to solve after an email to customer support, but they were vague enough that someone less experienced with the windows device manager might have trouble.
But the main reason I don't like it is that scanning is slow and not accurate enough. Really, you're better off with dragon speaking naturally, or just typing.
The whole thing feels like it's 15 years behind the times. The interface is horrible. The PC connection is deadly slow. The software is junk. (Can we at least import notes into a text file? WTF is a .qnt file? Now I've got to screw around getting that into a program I actually can use!) One really has the sense that these guys aren't putting any effort into keeping up with technology. These guys should look at an iPod. Given how much they skimped on everything else (program, connectivity, interface, screen, memory, chip, etc) I have no reason to think that this is a particularly good scanner.
A friend of mine has a C-Pen 20. That scans much faster, but has to be plugged in. C-pen used to sell portable versions, but I emailed their American distributer and found that they only have the wired one.
Total disappointment. As a graduate student, this device could have changed my life. Instead, it'll sit in a drawer, reminding me of the money I blew on it.
Bottom line: useless

My wife purchased this because she is studying for the GRE and GMAT and spending a lot of time looking up words in a dictionary while reading. The amount of time she saves using this pen is amazing. We haven't used any of the software that comes with it and don't really plan to, but for scanning words in books, even relatively small print, it works pretty quickly and has about a 95% correct scan and definition rate. The pronunciation tool works very well too. We were nervous of the price tag, but after using it for a week, I'd say the price is pretty reasonable. It also comes with a convenient carrying case (similar to a cd faceplate case for a car cd player). The only time it doesn't work on a scan is if you don't scan evenly, or if a word is split between two lines with a hyphen. If you use the proper method of scanning, which is pretty self-explanatory, you shouldn't have any trouble. If you're looking for a product to speed up your studying, this is it.Want WizCom SuperPen Professional, Portable Business Library Discount?
I read mixed reviews about Superpen Professional, but decided to take the chance and buy one at last christmas. I am so glad that I bought it and that too with a rebate (although it took 5 months before I got the rebate $$$).The product works great, I have tried scanning at various speeds, and in reverse direction too ! It almost never fails to scan (works 98% of the time with great accuracy). I guess they could use a bit faster processor, but not a big deal. I am happy with the product and use it frequently. I have tried using it on books, magazines, newspaper articles. I have tried various standard fonts. It fails to work when the background is dark colored (white/off-white background works like a charm). It also fails when trying to read italic text. The scanning accuracy increased as I used it more often, AND much more after I read the manual to understand the correct style of holding and using it. I recommend to read the manual before using it, and be patient for 1st few hours. Once you get the hang of it, using it will be very easy and useful.I've had it for a day and have not even attempted to connect via cable to the PC. BTW, the unit came with serial cable, and Wizcom is sending a USB cable for free. I am hapy with IR. I beam scanned text to my PDA and the PC. I can also receive text files from the PDA and the PC.
It has two main functions Dictionary/Thesaurus and scanning text to be trasfered. I bought it primarily for the first option and i order to hear pronunciation of and meaning of words I do not recongize. Its speaker is not too loud, so you need to bring it closer to the ear, but it has regular L/R earbuds with volume. I set the options to automatically pronounce a word after I scan it and show definitions. Medical, Computer, Wall Street, etc dictionaries are alredy pre-loaded. You can select in which order they interpret the word. It can scan and pronounce entire sentences.
The text scanning feature is good too, and accuracy is decent. Great for the road/airplane, particularly with a PDA.
It has "information" option where you can check remaining memory and battery life (in volts).
Before buying, I read the manual online at www.wizcomtech.com

This case is very well made with nice details and a beautiful pattern. I think the pattern is being discontinued so that makes it even more special. We're very glad we got it.great case, love the inside divider that you can move around. very sturdy. it is a little expensive but its worth it if you want to keep your electronics safeI gave this to my mother for Christmas. Although it is meant for a laptop, she uses it for her Ipad. She absolutely loves it!Thursday, January 2, 2014
August MS310B MP3 Portable Mini Speaker with LED Flashing Light and Built-In Rechargeable Batteries.
If you're looking for a speaker for your phone, mp3, ipod, etc, I extremely recommend this product in any variety of colors!I purchased 3 egg speakers within the last year (all different brands). Two of them were 10 USD. This one is cheap but the quality is very bad. It lasted only a week using about an hour or so a day..Within 2 days of use the top detached and exposed the very thin speake wires. Now it can only be used in the closed position, since we don't want to risk breaking the wires also.If i were ordering a $20 speaker, i would expect this quality. for $7, it blew me away. i got mine today and tried it out, when i took it out of the box it felt sturdily built, and when i opened it up and turned it on, the sound seemed to be coming from a larger speaker than this. i may seem to be over-gratifying it, but what else can i say for a $7 speaker? i would happily buy more to keep them in different places, but this one being portable means it is the only one i need. This speaker is amazing..I say very good in sound as compare to X-mini which is 3 times more price than this.
Sound quality is nice & i prefer to buy this item.
