I bought this remote to make PowerPoint presentations and I have to say I am pretty satisfied with the purchase. It does what it claims, installation was painless, just insert the transmitter into USB port and WinXP can recognize the device. I haven't tested the maximum operating distance, but I never experienced a problem with the laptop not responding to my actions. Just a couple things I would like to mention that I feel need improvement.

First, it's difficult to turn on the laser pointer. You need to press one button and then hold two buttons together and wait for 10 seconds. And the same you would like to turn it off. I cannot really understand if such complexity is really necessary.

Second, the battery used is the round flat one, like the one in the watches, just bigger. You can find it online, but not in the convenience store. I would rather them use a standard one.

Otherwise, I think for the money that is the best you can do. Comparable Logitech model is probably better, but costs $100 more at the time of this review.

I do presentations all the time. Tired of my old remote, I bought one of each of the major brands to compare them: Interlink, Atek, Logitech, Gyro, ...

By far this is my favorite remote. The key features are

1. Size: small enough to fit easily in your pocket

2. Built in laser pointer

3. Mouse controls: thumb pad, plus 2 buttons

4. Scroll wheel.

The last feature -the scroll wheel -is hard to find in many remotes. I really like using the scroll wheel to flip rapidly through a presentation. That feature sets this remote apart for me.

All in all, a very nice product for a very reasonable price.

I've tried a number of remotes, some of which are more expensive. This one has worked the best for me. For a point of reference, the last one I used (and returned) was the Logitech Multimedia Presenter w/ trackball; unconventional start procedure and sloooooowwwww trackball that didn't move all that freely.

Anyway, back to the point(er). I think the Keyspan is laid out quite well. Advancing slides can be done using either the wheel or the advance button. The mouse is very responsive w/ good speed and has an automatic slow-down next to buttons (nice for those w/o much dexterity or new to the one-finger operation).

The laser wasn't as tough for me as some of the other reviewers. Just depress one button while depressing another one for 3-4 seconds and voila. The laser option is kinda moot for me though since using a laser on something like a powerpoint presentation will generally not yield good results anyway; the laser will always get overpowered by the slide. If you use a laser on something like a big powerpoint on a screen, you can imagine just how ineffective it would be. That is why I use the mouse pointer when highlighting things I'm talking about on a particular slide. And that is why the nice speed and responsiveness of the mouse pad is a plus.

Bottom line: No complaints from me, has worked like a charm so far, and is a good buy imo.

UPDATE: The remote continues to work w/o problems. Used it for the entire school year (teach at a university and use powerpoint incessantly). The only add-on that you might want to get is an extension for the receiver if line-of-sight is an issue; I suggest a retractable cord so that you can stay as portable as possible. Besides that, the remote itself has proven to be solidly constructed and has held up quite well.

UPDATE #2: A couple years later and things are still hunky-dory w/ the remote. Works like a charm. Use it about 10 hours a week, so got some good mileage on it, and still everything is just fine. If you do get one, I still would suggest a USB extension cord; easier to hook up to a computer, especially if the port is on the back or it's one of those tight ones at an angle and you might want to use the other usb port (like on many of the Dell's).

UPDATE #3: Well, we're now looking at nearly 5 years since I wrote my initial review. Nothing has changed. This thing is still working lights out and hasn't given me any problems. I still look at new stuff out there (gadget guy), but still nothing compares yet. Even bought a Swiss Gear one 'cause it was dirt cheap and had the dongle that fit into the remote when not in use. But, couldn't compare. This thing is one of those 'classic' input devices that you'll keep forever if you try it (kinda like the logitech trackman wheel is for me as a mouse).

I've given up using this product because it is just not consistent enough. It will work well for short periods, but then I have to click the button repeatedly for a slide to move forward. Sometimes only every third click will work, which is very annoying when you are standing in front of an audience and talking about what is about to appear. This has happened in several talks, so I doubt it is anything to do with RF fields in particular environments. Obviously, the product is not designed with a high-reliability wireless protocol.

Other problems are the complex method for turning on the laser pointer, the rather low brightness of the laser pointer, and the non-standard choice of battery. Some things are very nice, such as the small travel size and weight and the fact that absolutely no setup is required (one of the only true plug-and-play products I've seen). Its too bad that this was taken to market without getting all the details right.

I first heard about this product from another instructor at the school that I work at. After trying it once, I immediately went out and bought it.

I used it for one semester and experienced some of the same problems that others have; draining the battery in the carrying case and difficulty with the laser pointer. Now, after only one semester (16 weeks) the back button on the front and side is not working at all.

I sent an e-mail to Keyspan, but have yet to hear a response. If this is the type of service and performance we can expect from them, then who is their competitor? My initial thought was to buy another one, but I don't want to give money to a company that isn't going to back up their product.

I love the product and the idea, it was great when it worked, but I don't think that I will be buying any future Keyspan products because of the lack of customer support and the short life span of a workable product.

Ok...I just finished reading all the reviews between the Palm m500 and the Palm m505 (color). This is my first Palm so this review is coming from a novice point of view. I decided to go with the m500. I made a wise choice! I really don't need a color screen. I don't play games or anything like that. So I decided to go with the m500 and save almost a hundred bucks. I bought it for the address book, the memo feature, the to do list, and the additional memory you can buy. I really don't need to see these things in color. Many people complain about the screen clarity, size etc..etc..I really don't have a problem with it. It is nice and clear. I can see the fonts no problem, and the palm icons are nice and clear. The screen is a good size too. The illuminated light is nice and bright. The screen is dark while the fonts and all the graphics nicely light up. It comes with alot of extra software too. It was also very easy to operate. I started to feel confident within 5 minutes after I pulled it out of the box. It's navigation is very straight forward and easy to understand. I just installed software that allows you to view and edit Microsoft Word and Excel files right on your Palm!

All in all I am very satisfied with the m500. I would highly recommend it to beginners who want basic Palm functions, but also want the option of exploring and using the other great features that puts the m500 at the top of the line of Palm handhelds. You also save some money too!

I really liked this machine when I got it, and I like it now-when it works. The m500 is runs the programs I need it to run, is light and fits in my pocket, has a long battery life, and is expandable with SD memory cards.

Unfortunately the m500 is so unreliable that I am selling it and buying another brand. My screen developed problems 2 months after buying the machine. That machine was replaced with a machine that developed a screen problem before I had the chance to ship the first one back. The next replacement worked for 4 months with a screen that worked moderately well, then completely died. It was replaced by a machine with a defective screen, which has been replaced yet again with a machine that will last who knows how long. All Palm can do is continue to send me bad replacements, which I do have to admit I get quickly. That's about all Palm can do-replace bad machines with more bad machines, as quickly and politely as possible without addressing the real problem.

Please do yourself a favor and investigate the product further before buying an m500. I have read reviews on other web sites and am definitely not the only one with this problem. One site shows the m500 with a 52% negative rating for this machine based on 222 opinions, far worse than ratings any other PDA I've seen. Many people who comment on problems seem to be having very similar problems to mine.

The Palm m500 is very similar to the very versatile Palm Vx in many ways. Palm has added some features that make this model even better. The interface with the PC and hotsync tasking is flawless.

The response time and speed of this unit is very much improved as is it's overall functionality given the software package. Coming with Documents to go, AOL and Power One, the software just keeps getting better. Now I can take my important documents and spreadsheets with me.

It has a nice greyscale screen and is much lighter than the Vx model. Eight MB of RAM might not be enough, but it can be expanded through the use of memory cards. I've backed up all of my data, e-books, databses and applications on one card which [are fairly inexpensive].

I highly recommend the Palm m500 for professional uses. It's wide variety of supplementary accessories also makes this model a plus. My only criticism is that the power button does protrude more than the Vx model. In the Palm hard case, the power button does turn on inadvertently at times. Hopefully better hard cases will become available for those, who like me insist on such accessories. Overall, a very responsive, high quality unit.

My wife bought me the m500 for Christmas to replace my Palm V (she was sick of me telling her I had to delete Frogger to make more room for Datebk4). I am very happy to have the additional memory and room for expansion. Color would've been a nice upgrade, but it wasn't my choice.

On the down side, my first disappointment was the new diameter of the case-holder, or whatever they call it. I'm talking about the slot along the left side that is used to keep the palm attached to a protective case. With my Palm V, I used the Metallic Blue, Special Edition Hard case from Palm. Seeing as the overall dimensions of the m500 are just slightly smaller than the V, I figured I could reuse this case on my new toy. Apparently Palm saw this coming, and shrunk the diameter of the slot so that the old Palm V cases will not fit in the m500 series. I read an explanation somewhere that said this was due to some design change in the internal circuitry, but I don't buy that. It's a marketing change to get upgraders to shell out [more] for a new hard case.

Also, I'm on my second m500 now. The cradle on the first one stopped working after 2.5 months because of a pin that bent when I was putting it in the cradle. I called the customer support line, and they offered to replace it even though it was my fault. Great! Problem was, they had to replace the entire system cradle and handheld. I was even more upset when I found out the replacement I got was a refurbished unit. The service rep didn't mention this on the phone I had to learn about it from a message board. Palm's replacement policy could use some improvement.

All-in-all, it's been a worthwhile upgrade for me. The added flexibility of the expansion slot, USB HotSyncs, and the same dependability of the Palm V (excluding the bad cradle) continue to earn my respect. The design changes and replacement policy, on the other hand...

I am a fan of smaller laptops if you plan to actually carry them around. This is a pretty good sized machine, but I wanted it to use in place of a Desktop system, so it will seldom move from the top of my computer table. The screen is great -very, very clear at 1920x1080 native resolution. I actually run it with a second, 24" monitor connected, and it has no problem with the dual monitor setup.

While not a barn-burner, it is pretty fast. The experience index numbers are: Processor, 7.8, Memory. 7.8, Desktop Graphics, 5.8, Gaming Graphics, 6.7, and Primary HDD, 5.9. It also doesn't get hot at all -very cool running. The reason for two graphics scores is because it has two graphics controllers. It uses the IBM controller for most applications, and switches to the Nvidia for games and other more graphics intensive software.

We actually bought two of these. My wife uses here for Photoshop, Lightroom, Office, and also plays World of Warcraft. She says it is plenty fast for WOW, and the graphics are very smooth. When not playing games, we both tend to have a lot of programs open at once. We both teach college, and when we are working on class stuff it is common to have Word and several browser windows open at once. If I am doing research, I may have as many as a dozen sources open in browser windows. It handles this with no issues. I teach photography, and do professional work as well, so it would be common for me to have Adobe Lightroom open and also have a dozen or so photos open in Photoshop at the same time. These are 18 MP photos, so they aren't small files. Again, it keeps up with no issues.

All in all, we are very happy with these Laptops. To make it better, we bought them before the price went up a couple of hundred dollars, but they are still an excellent computer at the current price.

My last laptop was an Acer Aspire 7741G-7017. I loved it! We were burglarized and my laptop was stolen. Despite having the Serial number and everything, we never recovered my previous laptop. I was debating between this model and the 1199 model. After a lot of thought, we purchased this one. I love the screen. It's got great viewing angles, full 1080 HD, and is a vast improvement from the last one I had. The laptop comes with 8 GB RAM and can be upgraded to 16 GB. It also has Dual Hard Drive support. I don't regret my decision at all.

It seems like a great buy, but Amazon needs to fix the specs for screen resolution. In the Item Description, it lists screen resolution as 1920 x 1080 pixels. But in the Product Description it mentions Max Screen Resolution 1600 x 900 pixels.

This makes it difficult to purchase a computer because there is another item that is cheaper than this one but also lists 1600 x 900 pixels as the Resolution. I do not know if amazon made a mistake, or if it really is only 1600 x 900 pixels.

This is by far the best ipad case that I have ever bought and it was great bang for the buck. This item looks exactly like the other dual-view for the new ipad but the only difference is that the ipad doesn't automatically shut off when the cover is closed. There is a misplacement of the magnet on the cover which is why the on/off function doesn't work. Honestly, I never cared for that feature and in return I was able to get a quality case for a much cheaper price.

What I love about the case is that you can pull the case apart so that you can separate the outer cover from the ipad sleeve. This means that holding the ipad alone is much lighter and if you want to put the ipad in portrait or landscape mode standing up you could just stick it back onto the velcro on the outer cover.

For the price, this is definitely a quality item.

Two months spent looking for the "perfect case"; I can finally say the search is over. This case is spectacular. So far I have no negative aspects. The ability to rotate between portrait and landscape, to completely remove the sleeve containing the iPad 2 and the wake/sleep function (which does work for iPad 2)...it is almost everything I have been looking for in a case. The only thing "missing" in my opinion is a strap on the back of the sleeve to assist with holding while giving a presentation, etc. Furthermore, I am convinced that my iPad is completely protected with the cover closed. I am very pleased with my purchase, and I am convinced most other users will be as well. I highly recommend this case to anyone with an iPad 2.

After about 6 months of use, including frequent removal and rotation, the velcro no ceased to adhere to the inner sleeve, particularly in the horizontal (typical) position. This, I'm afraid, is a natural side-effect of frequent detachment of the velcro hooks and the felt fabric used on the sleeve. After trying a couple techniques to revitalize the grip, I finally resorted to removing the fabric from the area that contacts the velcro hooks, and I replaced it with Sticky-back Velcro, directly onto the inner wood backing of the sleeve. So far, this seems to work flawlessly, however, if you are not willing to make a repair such as what I've mentioned, you should be prepared for the failure of this velcro system. I will upload an "After" photo to illustrate the modifications I made.

Amazon refunded my money including shipping and offered a credit towards future purchases which was a plus. Unfortunately I did not have what I needed for my trip.

This case adds very little thickness to the iPad2. The fit is perfect, the magnetic switch works well, and the cover provides a useful horizontal tilting stand when open. I have used it for two months and there is no sign of wear. I also love the stylus. It helps keep the screen clean and makes accurate cursor positioning easier than using a finger.

This cover works perfectly with my iPad 2. I like that it is an integrated front and back cover. The Apple Smart Cover only protects the front, and the magnetic attachment gets stuck to things. The rooCASE cover has a magnetic closure that works with the iPad 2 cover open/close detection. My only complaint was the cover feels a bit on the cheap side. Other than that, it does a great job of protecting my investment, and I'm no longer worried about getting scratches/etc. on the back.

I liked the fact that the roocase is leather, it provides very good protection for your IPad. The only thing that I'm not crazy about, is when the cover is closed, it doesn't close tight enough to make the screen shut off automatically, I would have to turn the iPad off after I closed the cover. If not the IPad would stay on until I turned it off. Oh and the description says that this is the ultra slim Roocase, but it's not! This one is just the regular roocase because, when I ordered the ultra slim, it was going to be on back order for two weeks so they offered me this regular one instead.

I had pre-ordered this projector for almost a month before it was shipped, which gave me time to contemplate my purchase decision. I went around to the shops and checked the PK 201, 102 models and other brands like the 3M pico projector and the Samsung palm sized LED projector. Especially that I have a full size DLP HD projector that i bough last year. The inconvenience of having to setup the screen and the speakers in the garden to watch a nice cinematic experience on giant screen reduced these occasions to just a handful through a year. I had high hopes for the portable battery operated projector but I was aware of the fact that its power was low and can only be used in dimmed rooms.

It finally arrived, and much to my surprise it beat my expectations just out of the box. it looks and feels better than any of the other ones i have examined first hand. The casing is sturdy and compact although the zoom swivel looks fragile.

The picture quality is very good and can certainly beat the quality of a regular TV. i used it with a nokia micro SD card from my old mobile and i ran a slide show on the ceiling with short videos it took my breath away. i hooked it up to my iphone and watched a full movie in my bedroom in full widescreen mode, you will be in for a good surprise :) you only need the AV cable for the iphone or ipad and a bluetooth or wired earphones and you have you 100% portable cinema box that fits in your pocket. I also tried it with apple TV connected through the HDMI link. It delivers a very nice picture. the built in speaker is good enough for my kids to watch cartoon while sitting just behind the projector.

Although I love this projector i have a few comments to make.

The battery life is not enough for one full movie and does not charge well if you operate the projector while it is plugged to power source.

It heats up a little too quickly, i know it is summer time but in 10 minutes it's casing is hot.

With that said, my final verdict is still excellent and highly recommended.

I also recommend the following accessories:

1) A small tripod is very important for ventilation and also positioning

2) The remote is very handy because the buttons on the projector are small and as they dim you cannot make out which button you are pressing. also good for slide shows and short videos off the memory card.

I use this projector for video and image files. In my opinion, it is best suited for impromptu displays for groups of 5 people or less. I always load all my materials on a 16GB class 6 Micro SD card which I leave plugged into the projector. I seldom use it connected to my linux gear, tho it works fine with all my 'nix machines including my Nokia N900. It's great for quickly displaying something on a white board in someone's cubicle. You don't need a lot of complicated equipment and a laptop because everything is thoughtfully self-contained.

Although software does come with the projector for converting PowerPoint presentations to a portable format that can be loaded to an SD card (as well as converting videos), I don't use that software because it's for windows and I'm not a windows user.

The PK301 is larger than my 3M Pro120 with greater resolution and a significantly brighter/sharper picture. I don't notice any of the rainbow effects that are sometimes a nuisance on my 120. It throws a 32 inch diagonal 16x9 aspect picture from 4ft away which is bright enough to be enjoyed in most office lighting conditions (overhead florescent). Usually, I'm just holding the projector at belly button height. The focus-ring is great and makes it easy to get a tack-sharp picture. You can operate all the controls with your thumbs because they are centered on the top of the machine with the exception of the on/off button which is on the side. It accepts a camera tripod (not included), and I bought a mini-one to set on a desk/table top for when I connect to my netbook or something.

Battery life is much, much less than the 3M (I get about 30-40 mins), but unlike many projectors, you can use the power cord while the projector is running for unlimited working time.

I use Mpeg 4 video formats with this projector when playing programs from the Micro SD card. I experimented with several tweaks and bit rates and discovered that the internal video player software cannot play variable bit-rate MP4 encodings. It does, however, play constant bit rate, quality, or quantization videos very well. I settled on MP4, Level 5, 720x408p (yes, 408 remember it's 16x9), 29.97fps, constant quality 13, with 128kbps AAC 48khz audio. You need a class 4 or above SD card because the video will stutter if played from a class 2.

While you're playing a video, the < and > buttons allow for RR and FF, and the up and down buttons control the volume. The remote (sold separately here at Amazon) has an additional volume control on it as well as a mute button. You can shut off the projector from the remote, but you cannot turn it on. And order yourself a CR2025 lithium battery for the remote (it doesn't come with a battery). I got mine at Target, but they can be hard to find.

And at the end of the day I set the projector on the hotel nightstand and flip the tripod head to vertical. Then I can lie in bed and watch a movie or music videos on a 50" video picture projected on the ceiling (which is almost always white in hotels). I can shut off the projector and there's no lingering cooling fan to keep me awake.

--UPDATE

The internal media player cannot play Video files > 2,048MB. If a movie exceeds that, the directory shows a negative size (meaning the code doesn't use long integers) and you'll get an error message about an unrecognized format. You must break the movie into smaller files or reduce your encoding quality to constrain the movie to 2GB.

This projector finally failed. It was a rather slow death. The image started to display a few dead pixels. They eventually spread until the picture was unusable. It did this over a period of three days, which was good because it gave me a chance to make other arrangements rather than just quiting in the middle of a presentation.

I bought this to replace the TV in my bedroom that was moved to my living room (a 42") when my living room Toshiba 52" LCD (14 months old-don't buy a Toshiba flat panel TV) died. I originally bought the PK-201. My complaint with that and the reason I returned it was that the focus had issues. It always seemed like one side was focused and the other corner wasn't. Well, the PK-301 exceeded my expectations. The picture is huge. It claims it will go to 120", but I am about 100" with my throw. Not sure what the max throw is. I didn't see that spec. I am using it in my bedroom (yes I said bedroom) and it is projecting on my wall. I have Dish Network plugged in with the Mini-HDMI input (cable was not included). Picture quality is amazing, especially considering I am using my bedroom white wall as the screen! The focus works much better and is easier to dial in than the 201, as it has a nice ring on the lens. I didn't have to adjust the color as it looks great. I only have 2 complaints and they are actually tied together.

Complaint #1-The power button on the side of the projector is too small. It's very tough to turn on and off, especially without moving the unit out of it's place from the mini tripod it's sitting on.

Complaint #2-No remote. It should have came with a remote. They do sell one separately but it's not a great remote, yet it's useful. There's no on button on the remote, only an off. Weird, I know.

Now I know most people aren't using this for a TV in their house, but every projector should have a remote, regardless.

Brightness is pretty good on it, although you really need a dark room to fully enjoy the quality of the picture.

Looked up the life expectancy of the projector/bulb, and amazingly it's 20,000 hours of use. If I use this 3 hours a day, that's about 18 years. Pretty impressive. My $1200 Toshiba lasted 14 months.

If it came with the remote, I would have given it 5 stars.

I ordered this for my teenaged son who tends to be a little more careless than I'd like with his tablet. The case does seem like it would do well protecting the tablet. The sides are sturdy and there is even a small flap to cover the camera on the back.

I have to agree that it sort of does when it is closed.

The leather seems a little on the cheap side. It looks fine, not plastic-y, but not luxury either kind of midgrade.

I been very pleased with my case. It protects the phone and keeps it secure and handy. I was a bit put off at first. I hadn't realized from the product picture that the case cover flipped up, not down. But after using it a while, the case made sense. The only modification that I've had done is an extra hole for the charger plug, done by the local leather shop. This is so I don't have to open the case to charge the phone. Delivery was much faster than I was told to expect. I'm very happy with it.

This plastic holster works just fine, but it's not that easy to get the phone off the holster. The easiest way to get to the phone is to remove the clip from your belt, and the phone will flip open while still in the holster. I guess this is good, as your phone won't easily fall out of the holster

Another negative to this clip is that if you are concerned about scratching your phone this clip offers little protection to the phone. But, the faceplates are easily replaced, so it's not a big deal.

Overall, if you want an easy way to clip your phone to your belt or visor or whatever, this will do the trick.

When I asked the seller about it, they replied that "you need to use your original adapter to charger (sic) your table(t)". Which begs the question of exactly what you can do with it. This sounds like "I will sell you a car, but it will not be able to be driven, so you have to use another car if you want to go anywhere". My best suggestion is to cut both the charger and adapter end, and use the cable itself as shoe laces. (Suggestions from other buyers welcome.) As a question of principle, I decided to return it to the seller, though even if it ended up costing me the return shipping ($3.50 or so) plus gas to get to the post office (they request you return certified) plus a tremendous waste of time. I want to emphasize that the sellers were polite, and even offered to send me another unit to test (I didn't agree, since they said that it would not work anyway as a charger ;-), and I don't fault them. I would quite likely order from them again if the product has good reviews. They probably just have no clue about this particular product. Incidentally, as far as I can see, the unit says it consumes 0.3 amp, but the original charger says 0.4 amp perhaps that's the problem: not enough power (voltage is fine, 12v).

Our original charger came apart at the tablet connector. The metal piece separated from the plastic after being loose for quite awhile.

For the price this is a great replacement charger. Would definitely buy over the stock charger that is double the price. The connection to the tablet is tight and doesn't suffer from the same looseness that the original had.

This is a well-engineered product, but not well designed. Let me run through some of the pros & cons:

On the positive side:

+The rubbery case feels great. I love leather, but the rubber feel to this case is very reassuring when I'm carrying around my iPad mini.

+The keys (when I hit them properly) have a pretty good response, though they occasionally need a stronger press than I'm used to (and I end up missing letters from time to time).

+It's svelte. It doesn't add much bulk at all to the mini and is very easy to carry.

+The command and option keys are nice add-ons for working with text selections.

And for the negatives:

-Belkin made some very odd choices for key layouts. The apostrophe requires pressing a function key and it's very awkward. I find myself constantly backspacing and retyping my words that have them.

-The space bar is shifted just enough to the left of center that I keep missing it when trying to hit it with my right thumb.

-I'm used to the top-right key being a "delete" key, but on this keyboard it's the equal sign.

-The entire keyset is set in a well of sorts (surrounded by a little rise around the perimeter of the keyboard). What this means is that it's impossible to use your pinkies to orient your hands to the smaller keyboard.

All in all, it's a well-made product, but I think it was rushed to market and the design/usability suffered. If anyone at Belkin actually used this for more than a day, I think they would have rethought some of their design choices. I bought this case to be able to type notes at conferences, but I can't imagine trying to take notes with this thing and dealing with all of the errors from the key layout on this thing.

Mine will be going back and I'll be waiting to see what Logitech's answer for the iPad mini is. (I had their ultraslim for my iPad 2 and I loved it!)

On the whole, I'm loving this keyboard it makes my iPad mini into a properly productive mini computer.

A few observations (after only a week of use, to be fair):

Good:

* Keys are good nice amount of travel, good springy feedback, it's certainly comfortable to type on

* I like the smooth cover I'm not a fan of leather or faux-leather cases, so this is a plus

* Great balance between holding the iPad securely, while still being fairly easy to get it in and out. If you still want to be able to use the iPad as a standalone tablet regularly, this is a big plus.

* Magnetic flap holds the case shut when not in use, it doesn't flap open like the Zagg mini keyboards can

* Battery life is great haven't needed to recharge it yet

* I love having a Command (⌘) key all the shortcuts like ⌘-C and ⌘-V to copy/paste work. And it's in the same place as on my Macbook so I just use it without thinking

* It pairs fairly quickly

Could be better:

* I'd like a dedicated row of function buttons (the number keys double up as function buttons if you hold an alt button) there is a lot of space along the top, so there would've been room for them. The Zagg mini keyboards have a separate row of function buttons, and I prefer it that way

* Typing the ' character is a pain the apostrophe key needs a fiddly Fn key combination press, which is annoying for something that you have to type very often

* The prop stand flap works great on a desk or flat surface. When I've tried using it in bed or on my lap, it's less effective. It makes the keyboard less flexible about when/where you can use it than something like the Logitech Ultra thin keyboard for iPad.

Easy closure and so far seems to be waterproof, but can only be used with small items. This does not fit the DSi XL as Proporta claims. If I try to forcefully jam the XL into the pouch it will get part way in and then gets stuck. With electronics devices that are slimmer/narrower I can see this as a useful case for trips to the beach and pool.

It seems that Proporta are marketing this case on Amazon as a purpose built case for many different electronics devices do a search in Amazon on "Proporta Beachbuoy" to see a large range of Beachbuoy cases that are claimed to fit various specific electronics devices. As far as I can tell, though, these are all in fact the same case and so, if your electronics device is more than about 21cm around its cross-section, I would look elsewhere for a case.

This is a good case that allows use of any 7" tablet. The construction is simple and effective. I had the version with the keyboard but it was just too thick for my needs. The rotating panel is removable if you want to protect the back of your tablet but not have the complete case.
