I just received this modem and gave it a try. People like me who require a dial-up modem -whether because broadband is too expensive, or just plain unavailable -have it rough when it comes to using the Internet. With built-in modems (and serial ports for old-fashioned external modems) becoming more and more rare in pre-configured desktop systems and laptops, the need for external USB modems (such as this item) will continue to exist, as long as broadband remains expensive and unavailable in some regions.

This is a good modem for those using Windows. With Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 3, the modem was detected without a hitch; however, the included driver CD was required to complete the modem installation. You can also download the drivers using a computer already connected to the Internet, and transfer the file to the computer for which you are setting up this modem.

With Windows 7 (Home Premium, 64-bit), installation is more plug-and-play. Just plug the modem in, wait for Device Manager to automatically set the modem up, and that's it -no installation CD required, no fuss.

Speed with XP and Win7 matches the best I've gotten with a dial-up modem (28.8kbps is my top speed with this phone line, and I get that speed with this modem as well).

As for Linux (Ubuntu 10.04, 32-bit), things didn't go so well. The driver was not detected at all (which was no surprise to me, as in the Windows setups the word "SoftModem" came up -not good for Linux machines), and the modem was useless.

The indicator lights on the modem baffle me. There are two lights -a "power" light, and an "online" light. While idle and unconnected to the Internet, the power light remains lit... constantly. When connected to the Web, the online light stays lit at all times. The power light serves as a data-transmission indicator... or so it seems. The thing is, the light blinks when there's data passing through, sometimes it is lit solid when there's data passing through. When there is no data passing through, the light my blink, or it may just stay lit. Sometimes it blinks slowly, sometimes quickly. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the indicator, so I tend to keep an eye on my modem activity via the taskbar and connection status applet.

One interesting thing to note about this modem is that it comes with a retracting phone cable. I'm used to getting plain-Jane phone cords with modems, so having one around the house available that's a snap-back is nice.

Another (more important) note: The install CD that comes with the modem is a mini CD, so it is too small to use in most standard optical drives -you will need one with a spindle that "grabs" discs. I would be afraid to use it in a "floating" tray-load drive. It absolutely will not work in your standard slot-load drives. If in doubt, get the drivers now, load them onto a cheap flash drive, and have that ready when it comes time to install.

Overall, I give this modem a mild recommendation. The price is OK -you could get a USB hardware modem that works with Linux for about this price. There really is nothing "special" about this item, but it works with Windows XP and Windows 7 with no headaches. Whether it is built to last remains to be seen. I'll update this review somewhere down the line and let you know if and when it finally gives up the ghost. The device touts a 5-year limited warranty, but we'll see (I don't have a lot of faith in warranties).

The modem worked perfectly. The operating system automatically recognized the modem once I put it in the USB drive. Haven't had issues with the modem...wish I could say that about my dial up provider.

I have an iMac 10.6.

The (mini) install CD would not fit in the drive. I had to download the drivers/software from their website.

The drivers/software crashed my computer: causing a startup freeze.

I had to erase the hard drive and reinstall the system.

It is not listed ANYWHERE that the software is NOT 10.6 compatible; not even in the owner's manual. In fact, some of the websites list it as 10.4 and up. I did not find out until I contacted the product tech support that it is only 10.4/10.5 compatible.

So warning to all: Not Mac 10.6 compatible!

I have a program "pc anywhere" that connects office comp to home comp through landline phone cable. Both computers were older. When my home pc failed I had trouble getting a laptop with an internal cable modem. Rather than have to get a whole new program, this external adapter has worked great. The only problem is if I disconnect the adapter, I have to reload the program software again to recognize the adapter..so I don't unplug it.

I found this screen protector to be extremely useful in preventing my screen from being scratched further. However, I found that it still tends to draw a lot of dust to it instead of away from it. I also noticed that it doesn't fully cover the entire screen on my HP IPAQ HX2490. I just made sure to cover the side that I know that I utilized most often in writing.

First time anti-glare protector was too small for screen and came with its own lint. Upon notifying Gomadic, received immediate response and rapidly sent me a new one which was great in all ways. Only minor problem was, sometimes hard to get stylus to drag well in games that required that move.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Handheld Game by Tiger Electronics

On the 18th, I managed to get ahold of 2 Tiger electronic LCD handheld games for $20 (total). Those games are a fresh version of Sonic 2 and a Power Rangers licensee. Sonic 2 was a blast when I learned how to play (See my review of that game for a full explanation). Power Rangers, on the other hand................Is a mixed bag.

The gameplay, at first, seems like a side-scrolling beat 'em up game. However, it also involves deep strategy, as you'll never know what your enemies may possibly do to attack. Either they jump-kick, or they stay on the ground and punch. As simple as it miiiight sound, playing it is a different story, but the result can be pretty fun. HOWEVER, it is nonetheless a difficult game. At first glance, your health would deplete practically rapidly.

As the game is already kinda hard, there are other aspects that make the whole thing a flawed experience. You can call in another Ranger, which is cool, but while he comes in to help kill bad guys, you have less room to maneuver. Another thing is that morphing ACTUALLY DAMAGES YOU! A signature feature from the Power Rangers, and it hurts you. That's just like that crappy Wolverine game for NES, in which taking out the title character's claws injures him! It's pathetic!

So that's Tiger's Power Rangers game for ya. It's not bad, but it isn't good. It bugs me how Amazon (and maybe ebay, too) offers this game at big prices compared to the Sonic 2 LCD game. And that game is much better (Although I WILL say this has better sound, considering there's no "music")

I also purchased a 10 watt solar panel from Instapark. Hiking in the mountains and camping the battery provided recharging for a tablet and cell phone. While gone during the day the 10 watt panel helped to recharge the battery for the evening recharging while perched on the tent. Beware that the model I bought does not include a charger with the battery. In the product info this was not to be found. However you are provided a few adapter tips to retask your laptop supply to quickly recharge the unit.

In the field with no power available except solar I was able to run for 5 days before the solar panel couldn't keep up enough of a charge and I had to seek an outlet. Next time I may attempt to use an array of three 10 watt foldable panels to keep things running, keeping each at a different angle to optimize the sun's changing position while I am away from basecamp.

The output tips are all tiny and L shaped. If your device's power isn't easily accessible, these will not fit. It's a major design flaw and it forced me to return the product. I'd recommend just getting two Astro3's instead.

The USB port is output only. You can only charge the device through the DC in. You must also supply your own charger.

No other stamp does automatic date/time in such a small portable package. Unlike a regular rubber stamp, you never have to set the date again after first use, and it also can stamp the time.

There are 4 fields available date, time, message, and 4-digit or 6-digit serialized number. You can have any combination except if you use the 4-digit counter then you can have up to 2 of date/time/message, if you use the 6-digit counter then you can have up to 1 of date/time/message. For details, the manual is on Dymo's website.

The size appears to be regular 12 point font, similar to the really old cashier's receipt in purple ink, but cleaner, darker, and crisper. It takes about 2 seconds to print the date/time/etc. The only thing I had to get used to was the time format. For example, 3PM is printed out as "P03:00". There's a 24-hour time format, but I haven't used it. Other features that I haven't used are the alarm, and the locks. I have had no mechanical problems with the unit. One can refill the ink roller with a couple of drops in inkpad ink, so I imagine that you could use any color after the original purple color runs out.

I use the Dymo Datemark at work on papers that require a date stamp (e.g. packing slips, invoices received) , but also on drawings, schematics, printouts, repair tags and notes to record when a certain thing was done and how old some items really are. Makes recordkeeping a lot easier, especially for someone who never keeps in mind what the date is. Great product.

I like the convenience of this date printer.

I've wanted something that I could use to stamp groceries as I purchase them. Some items stay in the cabinet too long and I've wished I knew how old they really were, before I tried to use it, or toss it. A paper tape label maker would have been too expensive for that purpose. I think this will work out well.

I like to stamp invoices with the date I paid the bill so this will be perfect for that.

It's also convenient as a desk clock. I didn't understand why it had an alarm until I realized it was so folks could get rid of any clock they have on their desk and use this as a replacement.

I wish designers could design some better interfaces for electronic tools. It's a general complaint with most items like this though.

I would have preferred red ink and larger type. This is too small for me to read without good light, or my reading glasses. Just a touch larger and I'd be fine. I'd rather it be red so it would stand out more, and also a black or blue ink would show through the stamp if I stamped over it.

Since there is an ink roller I guess I could try to get the purple ink out of it and load it up with red. It would probably take quite a while to work the purple out of the roller but I might do it. Too bad they don't offer optional rollers in other colors.

It does what I want though.

It should really come with a tray to stand in. As it is, the letters are exposed on the bottom at all times. They are slightly recessed, but I'm sure I'd get some ink on the carpet if I were to drop it, and it probably will eventually pick up dust through the stamp opening.

I can't believe the Amazon price. I usually find Amazon to have the best prices. I was going to an Office Supply store anyway and thought I'd look at it before I ordered it. It was almost half the Amazon price at the store, and it wasn't on sale either.

I love this thing, it is a little expensive for what I bought it for but it works perfectly. I work in a medical office and I have to put a time in and a time out for every patient that I work up and this helps me to remember to do that. I also have to put down a time for a lot of the tests that I do so I use it for that as well. I wasn't sure how big the print would be, but it is just the right size, probably comparable to a size 10 font. It also will do just time or just date or both.

I've had my DYMO stamper for a few years now...I'm actually on my second unit as the first one died on me after a couple of years.

The stamper works fine sometimes. Other times, it will print jibberish instead of the date and time. I've found that if I "pre-stamp" a scrap piece of paper prior to stamping the actual document that needs the time stamp, this seems to clear the jibberish out. It will then work for a while but then go back to the jibberish.

I've tried resetting the unit and replacing all of the batteries a few times but nothing solves the problem. Now that I'm used to it's quirkiness, I can use it almost problem free.

Unfortunately, there's no other product around in this price range that does a better job so for now, this is the only choice.

I'm a doc & I got this a part of my battle with medical records department that wants everything signed, date & timed. It saves a tremendous amount of hand writing and is of course legible. I had a hard time programing it, but the 1 800 support team was very helpful and after 30 min we got its memory cleared & set properly. When I'm in the hospital it saves a lot of work. I wish it printed a little faster, you have to wait until the mechanism stops running before you can take it off the paper, a few seconds. When I asked the seller about it, they replied that "you need to use your original adapter to charger (sic) your table(t)". Which begs the question of exactly what you can do with it. This sounds like "I will sell you a car, but it will not be able to be driven, so you have to use another car if you want to go anywhere". My best suggestion is to cut both the charger and adapter end, and use the cable itself as shoe laces. (Suggestions from other buyers welcome.) As a question of principle, I decided to return it to the seller, though even if it ended up costing me the return shipping ($3.50 or so) plus gas to get to the post office (they request you return certified) plus a tremendous waste of time. I want to emphasize that the sellers were polite, and even offered to send me another unit to test (I didn't agree, since they said that it would not work anyway as a charger ;-), and I don't fault them. I would quite likely order from them again if the product has good reviews. They probably just have no clue about this particular product. Incidentally, as far as I can see, the unit says it consumes 0.3 amp, but the original charger says 0.4 amp perhaps that's the problem: not enough power (voltage is fine, 12v).

Our original charger came apart at the tablet connector. The metal piece separated from the plastic after being loose for quite awhile.

For the price this is a great replacement charger. Would definitely buy over the stock charger that is double the price. The connection to the tablet is tight and doesn't suffer from the same looseness that the original had.

The stylus works fine but the case itself is an aqua color, not blue like in the picture. The screen protector is absolutely horrible though. You put one side on and then pull off the protective covering on the side you touch which only makes more air bubbles. I had it on perfect and then pulled off the top protective layer and it created about 20 tiny air bubbles.

I have been using my H600 with a Mac Pro. Though it comes with a dedicated USB transmitter, the headset and the transmitter did not recognize each other out of the box. I had to download software from Logitech to re-pair the two, and it was a bizarre process in which the software asked me to press the "track forward" button on the headset at one point. This headset does not have a "track forward" button. Do these people even test their own software?

Once connected in a setup that exactly meets the manufacturer's directions (transmitter plugged into USB port on the front of the computer, with unobstructed line of sight across the four feet or so to the headset), it worked but burst into static whenever I moved my head. I resolved this by moving the transmitter to one of the USB ports in the back of my monitor. This was contrary to the manufacturer's instructions, but performance was much better.

The headset works with all my software. I have been using it with Skype and Google Voice, and I've watched online video and listened to music. They all work, but the audio quality is lousy and this is really noticeable with music in particular. The quality is nowhere near that of any of my wired headphones (USB or otherwise).

Further, they leak sound -if I use them when my wife is in the room, she complains.

So they are convenient, and I will continue to use them for VOIP and applications where audio fidelity isn't particularly important. They're not going to replace my traditional cans for music though.

I LOVED this headset for the six months they worked: great sound, easy to charge. The downside is letting the battery go dead. I left mine on overnight without them being plugged in and now they won't charge at all. Nothing, nada, zip. Online support says customer service just wants to send a new USB cable out but that doesn't fix anything. A friend with the same headset he had the same problem. If you buy these, make sure to keep them charged and never EVER let them go dead.

UPDATE: Since I figured my headset was trash I let my husband take them apart. He opened the battery compartment and used a D-cell battery to "jump start" my headset battery. This gave it JUST enough charge to have it recognized as a low battery in need of charging instead of a dead battery. He plugged it in immediately and they charged! Music and gaming are beautiful again.

What he did: He took a D-cell battery and two pieces of wire. He held one end of each wire to each end of D-cell and ran opposite ends to headset battery: negative to negative, positive to positive. He held wires in place for about 30 seconds and gave dead battery enough juice to be recognized as needing a charge. Hope this works for anyone with the same problem!

Just fantastic, I used to be glued at my desk for work, no more. Now I can wonder all over the house with these! Very comfortable and as I am required to have a headset on for work, comfort matters.

The battery life is stupidly long, ranging from 10-16 or so hours, I'm sure the battery life wont stay excellent, but the fact that I had forgotten to charge it for 3 days, and on the third day I was able to just plug it in and still use them really impressed me.

Doesn't take long to charge, takes quite awhile to get a low battery alarm. I've owned them for about 2 months now and I just 2 weeks ago finally heard the low battery alarm for the first time. The sound is good, I get good reports about the microphone, but it can be a bit oversensitive.

Overall I'm very happy, great price for a great product that makes my life much easier and better.

The problem with this product is with its packaging and nothing else.

I charged the product and plugged in the USB and nothing happened. I messed with all the configurations and still to my disappointment the thing did not work. So I did some research. First of all the item came with almost no instructions. Logitech could of done that better. There is a software download "pairing"

Just search for H600 and pairing software and it is in the logitech forums. I would put the direct link but amazon will not allow it.

ALSO this Device is BLUETOOTH ENABLED! It works for the Iphone for sure, and maybe even ipad and android. (Don't know for sure that is all I have) Following the packaging consistently it does not state that it its. Go to your iphone, settings, general settings, and search in the Bluetooth. Then take the headphones and hold the mute and the volume + buttons simultaneously.

I was so angry at first with this device, but now for $60 I can use this single one to connect to my phone and computer.

I received a Kindle Fire for Christmas and I knew I would want a case to protect it (from myself and two small children). I did not want to spend too much money on a case right away, rather I was looking for something cheaper and would do some research for a better item later (possibly an otterbox).

I found this on sale for $8.xx and I figured for that price, why not?

I can say I am pleasently surprised with this case. It seems solid and not cheap. It looks good as well. I have recieved positive comments from several individuals that I work with. In fact one person went a purchased one for his fire as well.

Importantly it holds the Kindle Fire very well. It is snug and does not slide around or even want to slip out. The cover has some built in magnets which allows the case to stay shut once you close it.

My only gripe with the cover it does allow you to prop the kindle up and allow it to stand up for easy viewing. However, I wish it would allow it to stand up at more differing angles.

It also came with a free stylus that connects to the headphone jack that I really like!

I am sure if I went and spent $40 on a case it would be spectacular with features and quality that this one might not come close to. But for the price I got it for, I love it. I am not even planning on looking for a new case later.

The only down fall I found was with the fire, the arrow for the menu buttons can be a little close to the frame of the case. It is sturdy though and it works well for setting on its side. I do wish it would wrap around the back a little flatter.

I am really impressed with this cover so far. We'll see how well it lasts. I'm thrilled that it arrived on time, if not earlier than expected. I ordered a different brand cover on January 1st and am still waiting for it. Think I'll cancel that order and just use this one. It's great. Holds the Kindle in place securely. It's not going anywhere! has 2 magnets on top and bottom to hold the cover closed and they work great. Plus it's not too bulky. Can't beat the price either! Very happy shopper!

I almost always find these cases lacking in so many ways, so I was quite pleasently surprised on the quality and design of this case. From all the right cutouts, with well finished edges, to the little stand flap that acts to hold the device up in the case.

This case is amazing, so glad I chose this model. My iPad 2 fits nice and snug inside it. I can reach all the buttons no problem. The audio still sounds good, which I was a little worried about initially. The adjustment tabs work great and there are so many viewing angles to work with. The sleep/wake function works flawlessly. It added some obvious weight to holding the iPad but its a non issue, actually gives me assurance that its very protected.

I'm trying to think of a negative but I can't...

I just purchased the Red case for my new iPad 4. It fits the iPad well, including all the holes for the camera, speakers, etc. The case is relatively light as well. There are multiple viewing angles as well. I would recommend this case for anyone that has the iPad 4.

I have really searched for the right new iPad case. My rating would be higher but everything always use a little improvement, so nothing is prefect. I'll give all my pro's first:

1. Price with this company is the best. I paid around 29.00 including S&H.

2. Nice sturdy case, looks and feels like the leather it's says it is and is very well put together & will protect the iPad nicely. (my husband didn't know I ordered one & bought me one from a store that costed 36.00, it was so cheap compared to this one, & he couldn't believe the differents, so I return the one he purchased me. He was ok with that, too)

3. This item is 2 separate pieces, one holds the iPad & other holds the piece that holds the iPad. Confusing? Well, the part that holds the iPad itself, is removable from the holder and can be Rotated & attached to the Velcro in the holder at any angle you want.

4. It has a ridge that you can use to prop the iPad up on an angle.

5. Love that it is magnetic when closed & shuts down when closed to save the battery.

6. Love the stylus holder.

Now a few improvements needed:

1. The ridges that you can prop it up on, needs to be a material like rubber, so the item does slip off the ridges so easily cuz of the fabric makes it slick or make the edges that prop up on the ridges, make them rubbery, too prevent slipping. I hot glued mine to make it a little more non-slippery.

2. The camera cut out on the outsider piece, needs to be cut out larger the the inside holder. (inside holder has no obstruction when taking photos) only the outer piece obstructs the view. Camera works great when detached from the outer holder, no obstruction.

3. Needs a tiny pocket on the inside to hold a cloth for cleaning the iPad screen.

4. Needs a sewn in elastic band to wrap around the case to help keep closed.

Other then those needed improvements, it's the best one out there that I have found.

You won't be disappointed with this iPad cover/case.
