I got my Visor Deluxe last month and I love it.

If you are considering buying a Visor Deluxe, I'm sure you are deciding between this Visor and PalmIIIxe, because they have similar feature, spec, and they both have the same price.

AT the same time I bought my Visor, my roommate bought a PalmIIIxe (and he also loves his Palm very much). So i'll give you the differences between these 2 PDAs, and let you decide which one you like better.

I'll start with How Visor is better.

-Visor has expansion module, which means alot, you can add many many feature afterward, you can make your Visor am MP3 player too! And you can also easily add more memory to your Visor, while for PalmIIIxe, you can only add 2MB flashcard.

-Visor is a bit lighter than PalmIIIxe (5.4oz Vs 6.0 Oz, not a lot of difference though)

-When you buy a leather case for your Visor, you dont have to stick a valcro to the back of your PDA like you have to for Palm. (Palm need a Valcro to hold it to the case, while for Visor, there's a plastic holder attach to the back of the leather case, so you can jsut put your Visor securely in there)

-Visor comes with a fast USB cradle while Palm comes with slow serial cradle, so if you buy palm and want a fast synconizing, you'll need to buy a USB cradle separatly for about thirty dollars.

-Visor comes with a good quiality stylus, it has solid feel of metal, and if you open it up, there's a little screw driver and a reset pin inside. Palm comes with a piece of plactic stylus, my roomate had to buy a new stylus for about fifteen dollars.

-And another important nice thing about Visor is, you have 4 cool colors to choose from (5 colors if you include boring graphite color) If you are getting Visor as a gift to a college students or someone young, they'll love the colors.

Ok, now to what's better about PalmIIIxe

-PalmOS on Palm is upgradable, while Visor user will stuck with PalmOS version 3.1 for the rest of the VIsor's life. However, this is not a problem as it may sounds. most version of PalmOS's are essentially the same thing.

-PalmIIIxe has better display than Visor. Palm has 4bits display, while Visor deluxe has only 2bits. This means that, for Palm, u'll be able to display 16 level of grey-scale, while for Visor, you can only display 4 levels of grey-scale.

So, that's about it for the little comparison chart I made. Other tings about these 2 PDAs are the same, they use same processor, and dimension is the same. (Visor is slightly thicker, and Palm is slightly wider)

As a recommendation if you r going to buy Visor Deluxe, get one of the cool color, don't get the graphite one, unless you are a businessman, and want a more sophiticate looking device. Otherwise, other 4 colors are way cooler, (mine's orange)

If you have more cash to burn, then I recommend you getting either PalmVx or Visor Platinum, they are a little bit more expensive. However, I've never used them so I will not write any comments about them.

P.S. DO NOT get a PDA with less then 8MB memory, must have AT LEAST 8MB

I was one of the initial customers of the Handspring Visor and I have NEVER regretted my decision. Since that time I have managed to sway almost all new PDA purchases towards Handspring (they owe me big time!).

I think that alone says something about this product.

A few of my thoughts from owning this device: 1. If you're a WinCE user, you'll be AMAZED w/ how much faster the palm OS is. I actually use it MUCH more often than I did my WinCE device.

2. It comes w/ software to sync w/ a desktop program (also included) called Palm Desktop. There are "conduits" that will help you sync w/ Outlook and many other PIMs Lotus Notes, not included.

3. You might want to consider purchasing Intellisync but first buy the device and see if you'll need it. Just keep that filed in the back of your mind that this $70 software might also be necessary. However, this is NOT a mark against Handspring because if you find you need it you would've needed it for any other PDA device Palm or WinCE.

4. If you're buying it for the modules take a look at what's available right now. There's LOTS in development, but I'm still waiting for something useful. I am happy just knowing that I won't outgrow this device anytime soon. Friends who bought the Palm V are already in trouble because that 2MB of ram ran out.

5. If you're new to Palm the memory goes a LONG way. 2MB can actually be plenty you just have to manage it more. I have the 8MB version and I'm just over 2MB that's w/ a few ebooks, tons of.... web pages, tons of contacts, and even MORE shareware loaded up. I keep just dumping stuff on it to see if I like it, then I'm too lazy to delete it. That's what happens when you have too much memory.

Well, it was a tough decision... I weighed all the options between the Palm Vx and the Visor. While it was tough to get over the slick look of the Palm V, the blue Visor is really cool looking anyway. The key is, however, that looks really don't matter here what matters is what it can do.

First of all, the springboard feature is the number one reason to buy the Visor. It's awesome. And yesterday, they just released a modem that is only the size of the cartridge (unlike the one for sale on Amazon) that doesn't even require batteries. It's amazing, and it's only a hint of what's to come. If you look at the Handspring home page and click on Springboard Module news, you'll be amazed at what you see coming in the near future.

Memory of 8MB is simply fantastic. It's not worth paying another $150 for 8MB on the Palm V. Plus, with the Springboard, you can double it. For way less than $150.

Make sure you get AvantGo. All the other reviewers are right it's great. Don't neglect this service! News, sports, info, travel, fun stuff, whatever...excellent!

USB support is a big thing. It has it, and the transfer is pretty fast. USB is the future of computer ports, and Handspring obviously knows that.

Make sure you get the Write Right things to put on the screen to prevent scratching. And the Graffiti handwriting recognition is very nice. I have no complaints.

The only negatives would be that you don't get the rechargable lithium batteries, you can't flash upgrade the OS, and it's a bit heavier than the Palm Vx. But it makes up for it. Unless you're one of those people who needs color and the extra PocketPC features, I think the Visor is the way to go. An excellent product with plenty of upgradability. Definitely a five star innovation.

I have owned and used a Palm IIIe for a couple of years. I recently ordered the basic Visor for my mom as the lower end Palm devices are simply not available either locally or on the WWW. After the Visor was delivered, we discovered that the cradle that comes standard with the handheld requires USB connection. My mom does not have USB capability so she asked to trade her Visor for my Palm. I must admit that I was skeptical at first and not sure about Handspring. I tend to be loyal to products that have worked well for me. After using the Visor I absolutely think it is a great handheld! I have actually returned it and purchased the deluxe model with 8 MB of storage. It works exactly like my Palm but with these notable exceptions: tons of storage, the ability to expand via the Springboard, great fun colors and a super price! Already there are an assortment of modules and accessories that are quite impressive! I strongly encourage all skeptics out there to seriously look at the Visor! It is a great value and a great product!

I'm a first time PDA user and I'm in love with it.

Let me tell you this, I've never been an organized person, and I'm not now, but whenever I need to do something I just put an appointment with alarm in my Visor and it reminds me of what and when I have to do anything. Really useful for a guy who has no memory.

No more pockets full of papers with phone numbers, dates and appointmente, just write it on your Visor and let it take care of it.

There are even loads of applications that remind you of important dates like birthadays and aniversaries that can make a difference with your friends, family or clients.

Another fantastic feature is the posibility of answering you emails on the go, everyday I spend a couple of hours on the train, it is fantastic to read and answer emails that I don't have the time or will to write back at home.

I also installed Avant Go and now I can read the latest news every morning on the train.

The 8 MB memory is also a good deal, very good price and you can stuff lots of things in there. I got plenty of books (wich you can download from lots of places for free!), notes, pictures, games, contacts. I have more things that I can use and I still got 4 MB free of space!

No more getting stuck in an airport or train station with nothing to read or play (I got chess, othello, rpg games, shoot 'em up games...)

Just think of a use you need from the Visor, just get in the internet and check the thousands of applications there are for it, I'm sure you'll find the one you need. All that without speaking of the great modules that are available like 8 MB more of memory or the back up module which can save your day if you happen (not likely) to loss you data.

Don't think about it, buy it and you will take it everywhere!

Unless you pull both sides of the cord all the way out, pressing the button for retraction does not retract it completely. I only tried once to use it with the computer and it seemed to work fine. I have bought othe items from Gomadic that ahve worked well.

I agree with other reviews that the clips holding the case on can be a little flimsy. But I'm really glad that one of the clips on the case broke instead of my brand new cell phone getting scuffed! And $5 isn't really bad at all for a phone case. I'm going to buy a bunch of them so I can switch whenever a clip breaks.

I really like the design of the case. The top of the case broke already but the phone is pink so it all still looks good. Happy with having a cover. And the price with shipping was better than anything locally that I could find for my phone.

For the price this item was good. It has durability issues if you use the tablet any more than a few times a day. I use mine for most of my basic computing and note taking, making lists, and the like, and the cover just was not able to hold up to multiple handlings a day. I can still use it, but the leather is coming off the plastic backing (I'm sure it is re-glue-able) and it makes it difficult to hold sometimes. If you are going to use the tablet on a desk rather than holding it, this is probably the right product for you.

Leather case is usable. Finish is not that great, but still gets the job done. There is no slot to keep the HTC magic pen in the case which is a disadvantage.

I was excited to receive this case prior to going on vacation. I was looking for a case with a stand that I felt comfortable tossing in to my handluggage. In terms of protecting my HTC view, I feel like the case did a good job. Low profile, and closed sturdily with an elastic. But when I pulled it out on the plane to watch a movie I felt that it was way too steep and didn't provide a comfortable viewing angle.

I had to return the first scanner I received because it did not work. This company does not provide any telephone contact information; you have to go to their website and send an e-mail. However, once you contact them, they are very helpful and very responsive. The second scanner I received does a good job of reading business cards. I do find it is necessary to check the information for accuracy before saving. The only time there seems to be a problem is when the business card is graphic intensive.

It set up and worked relatively easily with Vista and XP. It does very well with simple cards. No editing required. If the card has lot's of logo graphics or odd fonts, it has some trouble. It will also occasionally mix up an 'i' with an 'l', but that is understandable. Recalibration reduces the problem. It also did not recognize hand written corrections on cards.

The big plus however, is that it has a very slick interface with Outlook Contacts. When it scans a card, it loads what it read into the New Contact window and awaits your edits. It also drops a .jpg of the card right into the notes section for easy comparison. That makes corrections easy and allows you to toss the cards.

I was not expecting a magic reader and it isn't, but it definitely helped me clean up Contacts and the hundreds of accumulated cards.

I had great hopes for this product, since some of our execs return from trips with a lot of business cards. Unfortunately, it doesn't work well enough for me to recommend it.

First, the plusses: It's fairly intuitive to set up and run. It's also pretty small and lightweight. It scans directly into an Outlook Contact record, so you don't have to scan it and then transfer it from somewhere else. It's also very good at interpreting which phone numbers belong in which fields (i.e., phone, fax, cell), and it's pretty good at scanning them accurately. You have the option of scanning a JPEG image of the card directly into the contact record, which I thought was one of this product's best features, and it will put a backup copy of the JPEG into whatever folder you specify.

Here's the stuff that doesn't work so well: The Optical Character Recognition software would probably work great for plain text, but this is a business card scanner. Everyone's card is unique, including the color, the company name/logo and the text, and this OCR software just can't cut it. Out of 50 cards I scanned, I had to correct about 75% of them. Some of these were simply changing an "l" to a "t" in the e-mail address, but sometimes it would just drop off or change whole pieces of text, for example, "Manufacturing" became "I Vianufacturing" and "Pete L. Chase" became "Pete L.". Also, if the business card had two addresses, such as a street address and a PO Box, it often missed one completely or put it in the wrong location. I did calibrate the scanner before and during use, per the instructions.

In addition, you should know that if you have Microsoft Business Contacts Manager, you cannot use the JPEG feature, which is not mentioned anywhere in the sales information. Because of how inaccurate the scanning is, you NEED this feature so you can refer to the JPEG in case the contact record is wrong. I had Business Contacts Manager installed, but I wasn't using it, so I uninstalled it before I started using the scanner. Unfortunately for some reason, Outlook considered the JPEG to be an "unsafe attachment", so it blocked me from viewing it in the contact record. I e-mailed Scan2Contacts, and after doing some troubleshooting with me, they could not fix the problem.

In the end, if I have to fix three-quarters of the entries (which means I have to proofread 100% of them), and I can't access the JPEG to see what's correct, why should I spend the money?

I do think there is one way this scanner could function: if you scan the business card but don't save the resulting Contacts entry, you will still have the JPEG in a folder on your computer. The scanner automatically files it alphabetically by first name, so you could create a "digital rolodex" of JPEG cards, although none of the information would be searchable. The only thing you'd have to watch is if it scans the name incorrectly, you'd have to fix the file name, or you'd have a hard time finding it. "Scanning and fixing" may be a little faster than entering information manually, and if you want a file of business card jpegs, maybe this product would be worth it to you.

I received this scanner as a birthday gift and I love it. Our collection of business cards cluttering up our wallets, drawers, etc. are now gone! This was incredibly easy to use once it was installed. Since I'm not very savvy about installing new software, I called tech support for help and they did an excellent job helping me get it done. I highly recommend this scanner.

This plastic holster works just fine, but it's not that easy to get the phone off the holster. The easiest way to get to the phone is to remove the clip from your belt, and the phone will flip open while still in the holster. I guess this is good, as your phone won't easily fall out of the holster

Another negative to this clip is that if you are concerned about scratching your phone this clip offers little protection to the phone. But, the faceplates are easily replaced, so it's not a big deal.

Overall, if you want an easy way to clip your phone to your belt or visor or whatever, this will do the trick.

I bought this product to go with my HP Officejet 6310 All in one Printer. It was very easy to set up and now works great. Wether I am sitting on my bed or in the kitchen, I can print anything. There were two negitive things about this product. First the blinking blue light is very annoying, I just covered it up with some duct tape, second you can only print wirelessly. If you want to scan something, you need to connect via USB cable, usually not included with a printer. So if you buy a printer and the bluetooth adapter, make sure you pick up a cable if your looking to do other things besides print.

I bought this so I could print wireless from my laptop, it didn't work. I called Hp tech support and after 45 min they couldn't get it to work either and explained I would only be able to print not use bidirectional scanning from the printer to scanner and suggested I return it. I bought it through amazon but it was shipped from Tech Depot an affiliated company of Office Depot and they said since I opened it that I could not return it. How was I supposed to know it wouldn't work without opening, I won't shop from office depot or Tech depot again.

I bought the product with the intention of printing from across my house. The room I'm printing from and the room with the printer aren't separated by any walls, so there shouldn't be a problem. Checked the manuals and it said there was a range of 30m. Took the measurement and found it to be only 50 feet, about half the distance that was advertised. I reconfigured their positions, and still nothing would work. The printer didn't have a problem as it's brand new and ideally should work, but nothing good has come. I resorted to the old fashion USB way. Another miss by HP.

The Blutooth adapter did not work with my printer an HP PSC 1510 All-in-One. I had written to HP prior to purchasing it and they wrote back that the adapter would work in any printer with a PictBridge USB port on the front, but that was not true for this printer!

The iPaq hx2415 is my second PDA. It is replacing my slower, but still fully functional Compaq iPaq 3635, one of the original iPaqs. I loved it and used it daily for everything from productivity to entertainment. My review is going to be more of a comparison between the two devices.

Expansion/Memory Cards:

The hx2415 is awesome! It's everything I had in the 3635 and so much more. Because my 3635 did not have any built-in expansion card slots, I had the compact flash expansion sleeve, which added bulk and took away from the slim, ergonomic style. In searching for a new PDA, one of my main requirements is that it would have to take compact flash cards natively, without an attachment. There are others on the market, however, I never had any problems out of my Compaq so I wanted to stick with the HP/Compaq brand. Not only does the hx2415 take the compact flash, it also takes the secure digital (SD) cards as well! Great job on providing multiple expansion slots HP.

Display:

I have been doing research and looking at the newer PDAs for about six months. The vast improvement in the displays just blew my 3635 out of the water. The colors are brighter, sharper and much more crisp on the hx2415 and the newer PDAs. Without a doubt, it was much easier on the eyes, even with the screen protector that I put on, right out of the box.

Battery:

I bought my 3635 new in the summer of 2001. I replaced the battery myself with a high-capacity battery. The original was down to about 20 minutes of good usage per full charge! :( After the new battery, I could go for a week and a half with more than my normal daily usage and the backlight on! Having said that, the standard battery of the hx2415 doesn't compare, which is why I'm getting the high-capacity battery for it as well. I love the fact that it is removable and I don't need any tools to replace it.

Design:

When the iPaq was first introduced, it's radical style was on the cutting edge. One of the main reasons I bought it is because it was unlike any other PDA at the time. It made all the Palm devices look like standard calculators. I loved the placement and functions of the buttons. They were all right where they needed to be. On the hx2415, it's even better because the buttons are designed so that it is not as easy to accidentally press one of the buttons, especially the voice recorder.

Networking:

Aside from infrared on the 3635, in order to do any type of networking with my iPaq, I needed to get add-on cards, which I didn't want to do. The hx2415 takes care of all of your networking needs from infrared, to Wi-Fi, to Bluetooth. It has it all.

Applications:

HP has included great applications that I found were very easy to use. I guess being a previous owner of an iPaq helped too. But it won't be a problem for those just buying their first PDA either.

Sound:

This is probably the only thing that I wish would have been better on the hx2415. The sound is not what I'm used to on my 3635. The speaker was a lot bigger and produced a much louder sound. I very rarely had the volume maxed on it. With the hx2415, the volume is all the way up all the time.

Overall I am smitten with my new iPaq. I paid over $500 for my 3635 brand new (with cradle, charger, case, and expansion sleeve). I found this hx2415 for $370.00. What a deal! I couldn't be happier.

One thing I would like to mention, which isn't a problem with the iPaq as much as it is a problem with the PocketPC interface. I recommend you get a third-party management utility, such as Wisbar. It makes using the iPaq so much easier and fun. One thing I dislike (and probably most PPC users do as well) is that when you open an application, such as Pocket Word, there is an 'X' button to close the application. However, the 'X' button is more like a 'Minimize' button because the program is still active. You have to navigate through the settings control panel and close it from the running programs in the Memory task panel. So much of a hassle. But not with Wisbar. You'll be glad you did!

I'm sure I'm leaving some other great features out, but these are what really drove me to buy the hx2415. Hope it helps you in your search!

After my Visor Edge died on me suddenly, I was considering buying another palm device, but I decided to try my first Pocket PC because of the ability to create and edit files created in Microsoft apps like Word and Excel. The other features interested me as well such as Windows Media Player, Bluetooth, expansion slots etc. Not to mention, it looks so good (even better in your hand).

I have been using my iPaq for over a week now, and I am loving it. Who needs to carry around an iPod when u have an iPaq. If u need hours of music, simply use a high capacity SD memory card and you are in hog heaven. Bluetooth works excellently. I have used it synchronize information with my PC and transfer files with my T610 cell phone. I have not had a chance to use WiFi as yet.

My friends and coworkers are all drooling over my iPaq. While I was researching which model to purchase, a coworker tried to convince me that a notebook was the way to go. I listed to her attentively and purchased the iPAQ hx2415. She quickly changed her mind when I started showing her the features the little iPaq had. Her exact words were, "It's like a notebook...just smaller and cuter!" The clarity of the screen, processing speed, and functionality blew her away, in fact, right now she is considering buying herself an iPaq because she is tired of carrying around her notebook.

The device itself feels very good in hand, this is aided by the rubberized side grips. It is slightly heavier than my old Visor Edge, but I don't mind. The things I am doing now on it, were only a dream with the Edge.

The only complaint I have is that the X button does not close apps, but minimizes them. Once you get used to that it is ok. To date, I have had no lockups. I have never had to reset the device. According to my research, lockups are usually caused by too many programs running in the background, which brings me back to my complaint, the X button. There is an iTask button that is used to close applications, but it would be better if the X button did what X buttons are supposed to do close applications.

Also, help could have been better when it comes to the actual applications, although they are similar to the versions we are accustomed to in Windows.

As I am on the topic of applications, this device came with a nice selection of programs, plus the companion CD has more software, even though many of them are trial versions.

In conclusion, I am pleased with the iPAQ hx2415. I did alot of research on it, and so far, it has exceeded my expectations. My life now has order again and more music. I have found my new friend.

I got to try the various handhelds of friends and family over the years, but I never really felt the need for one. But in the last few years they've become much more than glorified clip boards. I have both a Windows XP PC and an older Mac at home, and it occurred to me that I could get by with just one PC, since my wife and I usually just check e-mail and surf the Internet anyway. The thought of checking my e-mail while soaking in the hot tub in our back yard had immense appeal too!

The latest models have tons of features, though they are still stripped-down versions of full PCs. On the plus side this makes them much simpler to operate. On the down side you have to be careful not to lose content in the files you synchronize through your handheld due to the different versions of software on your handheld and your PC. And there's obviously not nearly as much software written for handhelds as for PCs.

At first I really wanted a Blackberry, as it combines a handheld with a cell phone, but I had just bought a new cell phone with contract and didn't want to waste that money. Plus, the Blackberry really needs a wireless broadband Internet service to be useful... and that's usually $50-60 a month. And since I already have DSL at home, and T1 or whatever at work, I couldn't see spending more money for yet another fast connection service. I did have to shell out $59 for a wireless Linksys DSL router so my iPaq could use my DSL connection, but it works much better than the wired one I used to have (the old Linksys constantly needed to be rebooted).

The HP iPaq hx2415 is what I ended up buying, partly because it appeared to have all of the features I wanted, and because of HP's good reputation. And price is now below $300!

Mine came with just Windows Mobile 2003, but even with the $35 the Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade CD cost me, I was well ahead on price as these are on sale often now. I decided not to install Mobile 5.0 yet, as I wanted to test the older software first for various reasons. While I like Mobile 2003, there are some shortcomings, the major ones being:

1. Mobile 2003 doesn't seem to support nested folders (at least I haven't figured out how to view them). This is also true if you synchronize your Explorer favorites. The nested folders of favorites aren't viewable, and don't get transferred to your other PC; you need to place them only one level deep, no folders inside of other folders.

2. Mobile 2003 doesn't retain all of your files and settings in the event of your battery completely dying or being removed.

3. The 2003 version of Pocket Excel doesn't support charts. Fortunately I knew this before I bought it, or I might have lost the charts in some Excel spreadsheets I synchronize with my PCs at home and work. As a work-around I have the "convert files" setting unchecked. But that means I can't edit Excel charts on my iPaq until I upgrade to Mobile 5.0.

These things are all improved in Mobile 5.0 (at least 2 and 3 are), so I highly recommend getting Mobile 5.0.

I usually read the manuals (yeah; I must be the only guy who does!), but this iPaq was so easy to work with right out of the box, that I was surfing the web literally within 10 minutes! Both my PCs are now synchronized with my iPaq and the e-mail server at work, and setup for this was incredibly easy (Note: I made sure to *not" convert files when synchronizing, so as not to lose charts in Excel due to the older version of Pocket Excel on the iPaq).

OK, the iPaq itself:

I love that it boots in about 2 seconds, instead of the 2 minutes my PCs take to boot! I can instantly access my synchronized e-mail by hitting one button (holding it down brings up my Wi-Fi settings); another button brings up my calendar (holding this button changes between landscape and portrait modes on the big display); another brings up my contacts. A button on the side brings up my notes; I love that! I usually just type in a quick note, but if I hold that button down, it brings up notes, then starts voice recording; great for when I don't have two hands free!

The stylus and handwriting recognition work well, but I usually use the screen keyboard, though it's slower than typing. I may invest in the $45 thumb keyboard some day.

The iPaq body is OK looking, and comfortable enough, but nothing spectacular. But it *is* small, light, and rugged; I dropped mine once with no problems. (I have a hard time believing the other reviewer set theirs down one evening and that the display cracked overnight while it was just sitting there; I'd talk to their janitors or kids!). I have plenty of memory for what I'm doing, but it's upgradeable if I need more. Flash cards are so cheap now anyway.

So, for this first-timer, this handheld has sold me on the concept. I definitely recommend it!

This is my 4th PDA, and I have had it for about a year now. My first 2 was Palm devices first a Palm IIIx and then a Vx. I loved the Vx for its small size, but after it died, I decided to go with a PocketPC for some of the features it offered. I got an iPAQ 3955 which I like alot, but the size was hard to get used to after the Vx. I still used it pretty heavily, and after 2 years I found I needed a device with built in WiFi, as the PPC2003 upgrade wouldn't let me use my WiFI card anymore. So last February I upgraded to the 2415. I liked the smaller size of the unit over the 3955, and it functioned well at first. However, in the past few months, I found there are times I try to turn the unit on, and nothing happens. Apparently, the battery will run down while it is off, and after charging, it is back to factory settings, having lost all applications and records. Even though there is a backup battery in it, it doesn't seem to have done anything to maintain my data. This has happened a few times in the past several weeks to the point where it has been too much of a hassle to keep reinstalling the applications (and digging out reg. codes to reregister the programs). I have found that I barely use it anymore, but not for a lack of wanting to use a PDA. I'd rate this at 2.5 stars since it functioned well for a while, and only recently became virtually useless. I am now looking at going back to a Palm device if I can find one that suits my needs.

I purchased my HP2415 about a year ago. It worked fine for about 6 months. Then one day I took it out of my briefcase and tried to turn it on, nothing. I tried a soft-reset, nothing. So I plugged it into the cradle and found the main battery had been drained and the back-up never kicked in. Apparently it had turned itself on in my briefcase.

So had to do a full reset and software install.

Then it happend again a week later, same symptoms. So I called the HP people and they had me send it back to them. In about a week they sent it back to me and claimed it was fixed the next day it did it again.

So I sent it back again they "fixed" it agian. 1 week after getting it back it did it again. I called HP and asked to have it replaced, they said no. The best they could offer was to "fix" it again.

I am going back to Palm.

The ThumbPad is very lightweight, but seems quite durable. The Visor slides into a nice solid dock with the ThumbPad, unlike other mini-keyboards I've seen where the connection is very tenuous, and you have to be really careful to support the unit to avoid putting any weight on the connection. With the ThumbPad the can just hold the keyboard, which easily supports the weight of the Visor for comfortable typing.

The keyboard layout has a pretty big flaw. There's only one shift key, at the lefthand side. Would including a shift key on the right side as well have increased the size of the unit by that much? Punctuation is accessed using the "function" key, and, you guessed it, there's only one, on the lefthand side, right next to the quotation mark and apostrophe, making it very awkward to type these symbols. If there were shift and function keys on each side, you wouldn't have to shift your grip on the ThumbPad and it would be much more comfortable.

My biggest frustration with the ThumbPad is a non-fatal but annoying bug. If the ThumbPad is idle too long (on the order of ten seconds), the PDA stops accepting input from the keypad. I have to turn off the PDA, and turn it back on by pressing a key on the ThumbPad, and then I can continue typing normally. My email to tech support has not yet been returned (though it's only been a few days). I had a similar small bug with a different Targus keyboard in the past, which was never resolved, so I think I'll be avoiding their products in the future (when possible--the Visor user doesn't have a LOT of options for peripherals!)

The Targus ThumbPad is an external thumbboard that attaches to your Palm via the Universal Connector at the bottom. Rather than covering the buttons and Graffiti area, it extends a couple of inches beneath the handheld, which amazingly rests firmly in place. The ThumbPad is made of plastic and is very light.

It's not nearly as functional as the full-size folding keyboards -useful extra keys like "New" and "OK" aren't there, but that's to be expected with a keyboard this size. More perplexing, however, is the absence of parenthesis keys. You do have to reach for the stylus and the Palm's own buttons from time to time, and you must resist the temptation to use the ThumbPad's directional keys in the Apps menu -they don't page up and down.

The fact that the ThumbPad flares outward from the Palm's base gives the keyboard more room and allows the keys to be bigger than the keys that PDAs with built-in thumbboards have. Key action is very nice, as nice as the Tungsten W or C (but with more room) and far nicer than Sony Clie thumbboards. I find typing surprisingly quick. I would have preferred to see sticky Shift, Fn and Control keys, like some built-in thumbboards, since holding down two keys at once is awkward on a keyboard of this type.

Overall I'm quite pleased with this little thumbboard, and look forward to using it to send SMS when my Palm Bluetooth card arrives.

FYI if i could have chosen 3 1/2 stars, I would have. I feel a little bad that I gave a 3 because the quality of the actual product isn't bad, but for my needs, it doesn't fully fullfill to give a 4 or 5 read below.

While this case seems like it will do mostly what it advertises, I think it could use an extra picture. This isn't a knock on CCMACCESSORIES or anything, but a knock on Body Glove because even on their own website, the same picture that is posted here is the same picture they have on the website.

Please note that this is a (1-piece) design that more or less cradles your phone. So with this design, none of the front is covered on your phone (which is mostly fine because the screen is so large and most of us have screen protectors of course).

But what is lacking is protection on top and bottom. The case cradles mostly on the sides, but lacks full protection all the way around the front lip if that makes sense? Like the top and bottom front edges are exposed and could potentially scratch. But it does look pretty good overall.

I think I'm going back to using the clear plastic case that is a 2-piece design that snaps together, so it protects more of the phone.

I'll try to submit a picture of the front if I can to help others. Because this very-well might be what you're looking for and will protect your phone in many ways while looking good I just know myself and how i take care of things, so I know I would get the exposed parts scratched!

I agree with the original reviewer of this product. While the build quality is good, there is zero protection for both top and bottom edges of the phone on the front of the case. Look at the photo closely. There isn't any plastic connecting the 2 sides going across the top or bottom. Also there's no belt clip, fyi.

If you're looking for a minimalist case that offers some protection, then this case might be for you. This case adds very little bulk to the phone.

I have my cannon S100 for six months now. The camera is so small that I take it anywhere I go and take pictures of everything. And I mean EVERYTHING.

When you go here and there taking pictures there are two things that can stop you happy travel: Battery life and storage space.

This card cross over any storage limits you could have.

Let me tell you a few words about

1. Sandisk is known for its great compatibility so it isn't ikely that you will have compatibility problems

2. Used with my cannon S100 Digital Elph it can hold:

1550 pics in low resolution Hard to beat for Web publishing or e-mailing

420 pics in medium resolution. This resolution is really good for prints up to 5 x 7

170 pics in high resolution. Pretty good for one single card. Outstanding prints up to 8 x 10

3. No problems with speed. Sandisk cards are as fast as any other.

In my experience 170 pictures at resolution for prints of 8x10 is enough for a complete weekend of pictures, but if you feel you are running out of space you just change to medium resolution for prints up to 5x7.

With this card you can forget the frustrating experience of running out of space in the sunset of Sunday the weekend you decided to expend in the beach.

You won't find this card at this very good price anywhere else, so go for it

I recently bought the SanDisk 256 MB CompactFlash Card for use with my digital camera and I really impressed with this CF card. I just bought the Canon Powershot G2 Digital Camera and it came with a 32 MB CompactFlash card that barely held 10 pictures at the highest resolution. I needed more capacity, but I wanted to buy a card that was compatible with my camera as well as my MP3 player. It was interesting to note that the 32 MB CF card that was included by Canon was made by SanDisk. That convinced me and I ended up buying the 256 MB CF card and it has worked just amazingly well in my camera.

I love this CompactFlash card as it is so small, and versatile. If you plan on buying the 256 MB CF card, I would also recommend buying the Sandisk Imagemate USB CompactFlash Card Reader (SDDR-31). How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The SanDisk 256MB CompactFlash Card, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. I am a loyal Canon user and have had no compatibility problems.

I have owned or purchased 4 Canon digital cameras in the past several years, including the A50, S20, and both the Canon G1 and G2 (which I gave as a gift). A have used SanDisk CompactFlash cards from a capacity of 64MB to 256MB without difficulty. I don't believe there is a conflict with other Canon models.

CANON EVEN USES SANDISK CARDS LABELLED "CANON" IN THEIR BUNDLES.

The Canon Digital IXUS 300 is listed as compatible.

The Canon G1 is listed upto 128MB, but know that 256MB works.

Ordered the SanDisk 256 MB card for my NIKON Coolpix 5000. Card worked fine for 6 mos and then stopped working right after Christmas. I called for a warranty replacement (it's guarenteed for 5 yrs or so they say per written warranty)and then the runaround began. They close for the Christmas Holidays for 10 days. NO ONE is available to issue an RMA for a replacement? Finally after numerous calls I got an RMA# and sent the faulty card back per their instructions. Now I can't find out anything about the replacement card as they just don't seem to be able to get back to me with the status of the replacement card. Over a month and no replacement card. Stuck using the camera included card of 32 MB capacity. I would not reccommend this company to anyone. Customer support is terrible. Their promises to contact me about warranty issues is very poor. Caveat emptor. I will now go to Viking. SanDisk just doesn't seem to care.
