Handspring Visor Deluxe (Blue)
- 8 MB RAM stores thousands of addresses, appointments, to-do items, memos, and more
- Fully compatible with thousands of Palm OS applications
- Supports optional expansion modules for MP3 player, pager, modem, GPS, video games, and more
- Important note: If you are running Windows 95/NT or using a non-USB Macintosh, you must order the Serial HotSync Cradle separately
- What's in the box: Visor Deluxe, HotSync cradle, stylus, snap cover, leather slip case, Palm Desktop software, two AAA batteries
If you are considering buying a Visor Deluxe, I'm sure you are deciding between this Visor and PalmIIIxe, because they have similar feature, spec, and they both have the same price.
AT the same time I bought my Visor, my roommate bought a PalmIIIxe (and he also loves his Palm very much). So i'll give you the differences between these 2 PDAs, and let you decide which one you like better.
I'll start with How Visor is better.
-Visor has expansion module, which means alot, you can add many many feature afterward, you can make your Visor am MP3 player too! And you can also easily add more memory to your Visor, while for PalmIIIxe, you can only add 2MB flashcard.
-Visor is a bit lighter than PalmIIIxe (5.4oz Vs 6.0 Oz, not a lot of difference though)
-When you buy a leather case for your Visor, you dont have to stick a valcro to the back of your PDA like you have to for Palm. (Palm need a Valcro to hold it to the case, while for Visor, there's a plastic holder attach to the back of the leather case, so you can jsut put your Visor securely in there)
-Visor comes with a fast USB cradle while Palm comes with slow serial cradle, so if you buy palm and want a fast synconizing, you'll need to buy a USB cradle separatly for about thirty dollars.
-Visor comes with a good quiality stylus, it has solid feel of metal, and if you open it up, there's a little screw driver and a reset pin inside. Palm comes with a piece of plactic stylus, my roomate had to buy a new stylus for about fifteen dollars.
-And another important nice thing about Visor is, you have 4 cool colors to choose from (5 colors if you include boring graphite color) If you are getting Visor as a gift to a college students or someone young, they'll love the colors.
Ok, now to what's better about PalmIIIxe
-PalmOS on Palm is upgradable, while Visor user will stuck with PalmOS version 3.1 for the rest of the VIsor's life. However, this is not a problem as it may sounds. most version of PalmOS's are essentially the same thing.
-PalmIIIxe has better display than Visor. Palm has 4bits display, while Visor deluxe has only 2bits. This means that, for Palm, u'll be able to display 16 level of grey-scale, while for Visor, you can only display 4 levels of grey-scale.
So, that's about it for the little comparison chart I made. Other tings about these 2 PDAs are the same, they use same processor, and dimension is the same. (Visor is slightly thicker, and Palm is slightly wider)
As a recommendation if you r going to buy Visor Deluxe, get one of the cool color, don't get the graphite one, unless you are a businessman, and want a more sophiticate looking device. Otherwise, other 4 colors are way cooler, (mine's orange)
If you have more cash to burn, then I recommend you getting either PalmVx or Visor Platinum, they are a little bit more expensive. However, I've never used them so I will not write any comments about them.
P.S. DO NOT get a PDA with less then 8MB memory, must have AT LEAST 8MB

I was one of the initial customers of the Handspring Visor and I have NEVER regretted my decision. Since that time I have managed to sway almost all new PDA purchases towards Handspring (they owe me big time!).I think that alone says something about this product.
A few of my thoughts from owning this device: 1. If you're a WinCE user, you'll be AMAZED w/ how much faster the palm OS is. I actually use it MUCH more often than I did my WinCE device.
2. It comes w/ software to sync w/ a desktop program (also included) called Palm Desktop. There are "conduits" that will help you sync w/ Outlook and many other PIMs Lotus Notes, not included.
3. You might want to consider purchasing Intellisync but first buy the device and see if you'll need it. Just keep that filed in the back of your mind that this $70 software might also be necessary. However, this is NOT a mark against Handspring because if you find you need it you would've needed it for any other PDA device Palm or WinCE.
4. If you're buying it for the modules take a look at what's available right now. There's LOTS in development, but I'm still waiting for something useful. I am happy just knowing that I won't outgrow this device anytime soon. Friends who bought the Palm V are already in trouble because that 2MB of ram ran out.
5. If you're new to Palm the memory goes a LONG way. 2MB can actually be plenty you just have to manage it more. I have the 8MB version and I'm just over 2MB that's w/ a few ebooks, tons of.... web pages, tons of contacts, and even MORE shareware loaded up. I keep just dumping stuff on it to see if I like it, then I'm too lazy to delete it. That's what happens when you have too much memory.
Go to .... (it's a visor discussion board) to get a feel for the issues people are having with it and to talk to some real users or feel free to just email me any general questions.

Well, it was a tough decision... I weighed all the options between the Palm Vx and the Visor. While it was tough to get over the slick look of the Palm V, the blue Visor is really cool looking anyway. The key is, however, that looks really don't matter here what matters is what it can do.First of all, the springboard feature is the number one reason to buy the Visor. It's awesome. And yesterday, they just released a modem that is only the size of the cartridge (unlike the one for sale on Amazon) that doesn't even require batteries. It's amazing, and it's only a hint of what's to come. If you look at the Handspring home page and click on Springboard Module news, you'll be amazed at what you see coming in the near future.
Memory of 8MB is simply fantastic. It's not worth paying another $150 for 8MB on the Palm V. Plus, with the Springboard, you can double it. For way less than $150.
Make sure you get AvantGo. All the other reviewers are right it's great. Don't neglect this service! News, sports, info, travel, fun stuff, whatever...excellent!
USB support is a big thing. It has it, and the transfer is pretty fast. USB is the future of computer ports, and Handspring obviously knows that.
Make sure you get the Write Right things to put on the screen to prevent scratching. And the Graffiti handwriting recognition is very nice. I have no complaints.
The only negatives would be that you don't get the rechargable lithium batteries, you can't flash upgrade the OS, and it's a bit heavier than the Palm Vx. But it makes up for it. Unless you're one of those people who needs color and the extra PocketPC features, I think the Visor is the way to go. An excellent product with plenty of upgradability. Definitely a five star innovation.

I have owned and used a Palm IIIe for a couple of years. I recently ordered the basic Visor for my mom as the lower end Palm devices are simply not available either locally or on the WWW. After the Visor was delivered, we discovered that the cradle that comes standard with the handheld requires USB connection. My mom does not have USB capability so she asked to trade her Visor for my Palm. I must admit that I was skeptical at first and not sure about Handspring. I tend to be loyal to products that have worked well for me. After using the Visor I absolutely think it is a great handheld! I have actually returned it and purchased the deluxe model with 8 MB of storage. It works exactly like my Palm but with these notable exceptions: tons of storage, the ability to expand via the Springboard, great fun colors and a super price! Already there are an assortment of modules and accessories that are quite impressive! I strongly encourage all skeptics out there to seriously look at the Visor! It is a great value and a great product!I'm a first time PDA user and I'm in love with it.Let me tell you this, I've never been an organized person, and I'm not now, but whenever I need to do something I just put an appointment with alarm in my Visor and it reminds me of what and when I have to do anything. Really useful for a guy who has no memory.
No more pockets full of papers with phone numbers, dates and appointmente, just write it on your Visor and let it take care of it.
There are even loads of applications that remind you of important dates like birthadays and aniversaries that can make a difference with your friends, family or clients.
Another fantastic feature is the posibility of answering you emails on the go, everyday I spend a couple of hours on the train, it is fantastic to read and answer emails that I don't have the time or will to write back at home.
I also installed Avant Go and now I can read the latest news every morning on the train.
The 8 MB memory is also a good deal, very good price and you can stuff lots of things in there. I got plenty of books (wich you can download from lots of places for free!), notes, pictures, games, contacts. I have more things that I can use and I still got 4 MB free of space!
No more getting stuck in an airport or train station with nothing to read or play (I got chess, othello, rpg games, shoot 'em up games...)
Just think of a use you need from the Visor, just get in the internet and check the thousands of applications there are for it, I'm sure you'll find the one you need. All that without speaking of the great modules that are available like 8 MB more of memory or the back up module which can save your day if you happen (not likely) to loss you data.
Don't think about it, buy it and you will take it everywhere!

Accessorise Google Nexus 7 inch Tablet -Black Leather Folio Case Cover with Built-in Multi-Angle Sta
I ordered the black one (comes in four colors) and when it arrived I was thrilled. Feels great in my hands, the folio is solid yet flexible, the stand works great, automatically sleeps the Nexus when you close the cover, easy access to all the buttoms, camera, volume, usb port.
A terrific value for the price.
Took it on vacation with me a couple days after I got it and it was perfect! Loaded it with movies for the plane rides and the folio stand came in real handy on the seat tray. I have a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard for the Nexus, and the stand angles on this folio are ideal for viewing.
I highly recommend it.I bought the Accessorise Folio Case Cover for my son's Nexus 7 and he loves it. It is comparable in quality to $30 cases you would find in the stores. We watched a movie on a plane using the built-in stand and it performed flawlessly, despite a sometimes bumpy ride. The only drawback is the power button is a little difficult to access, but with the auto-on feature you don't need it much. We did not experience any of the odors that others have commented on. I looked around for a while before deciding on this case and am happy with my purchase.First of, let's be clear this is an affordable case, not a high end one. That aside though, it is definitely worth the $3 I paid, and probably is worth at least $7. Here is why:
Pros:
1:Feels like leather
2: Looks like it could withstand a drop or two (it is a thick case, which is the drawback of this plus)
3: Soft inside material to cover the screen
4: handstrapnot the best because gravity will make the left corner slide lower than the right corner
5: Viewing standWas real nice when I set it on my lap and used it as a viewing stand. Has 2 different angles which works great for me
6: sealed with quite sturdy velcro, I can shake the case with no fear of it falling outI do adjust the velcro here and there to give it a more snug grip. This can be a bit bothersome until I remember the velcro is solid and the price.
7:Stretchy thingyNot sure the proper name for this, but it allows me to close the case with it so the flap has no chance of opening. Regarding the front cover, there are magnets allowing you to hold the case frontcover-side down (but a little shake and watch the "front cover" open)
8: AUTO SLEEP/WAKE!!!! This is a really nice feature because the screen goes off when the cover is closed, and turns on when the cover opens. No issue with the magnet being too strong as well (Probably because it is a thick case)
This leads me to the major gripes or disadvantages of the case.
Cons:
It looks like a leather book. This case is thick, so you can kiss pocketting your Nexus 7 goodbye.
The logo implies my name is "Ayl" Look at the photo. You will see the "Ayl" in the lower right corner(How accessorise got that is beyond me) This in my opinion is the dumbest part of the case. Seriously, it probably costs more to put that there and does nothing to further the company name. I would like it better if the logo was a simple "A" or a redesigned "A" or even the entire name "Accessorise" was put in a smaller font at the bottom right. I would ultimately prefer the logo under the tablet so it's hidden with the tablet.
All in all though, if you don't mind people asking Who "Ayl" is, I say it is an excellent $3 case for me.I ordered the previous version and was very happy. Soon after they sent this replacement "upgraded" version. This version is slightly less bulky and the magnetic on off version works as expected. As others have mentioned, it does come with an odor, but now owning two, I can say that after a couple of days it does wear off and will no longer be an issue. The horizontal prop is greatly improved, however I can not seem to figure out how to vertically prop my device. Could be a user issue. This cover is a solid piece that I feel protects my Nexus well. A bargain find most definitely!works great, good price. professional looking. fits in my (bigger) pocket still. I looked at expensive cases and I'm glad I went with this one.

Amazon processed the return effortlessly. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to try this same case again, and test my luck with the zipper, or if I'll try something different.
If I knew that my zipper problem was a fluke, I would give this case 5 stars and buy the same one again in an instant. If I knew it was a design flaw and prone to happen again, I would give it none. Since I'm unsure, I'll give it four for now, until I hear from other customers about their experiences with the zippers.

When I received this item I thought I had received the wrong item because it was too thick. After seeing it came with a new door I was happy I had ordered the larger capacity battery. It works great and the fast delivery was appreciated.I bought this extended battery for my aging Dell Axim X50v. The battery life is now many hours compared to one hour that I had before with the OEM Dell battery (granted it was 7 years old). It gave new life to my X50v which I'm enjoying more than ever. Don't hesitate making the purchase and the store ships quick. I had to remove the foam tape inside the battery cover because it cause a "Battery Latch Opened" message to appear, occasionally. Not problems afterwards, battery still fits tight and no more messages appearing. I peeled and saved the foam tape just in case. I was very pleased with product and the store's service.Want Hitech -Dell Axim X50/ X50V Equivalent Battery (Extended battery with door) Discount?
I bought the same size battery from ebay, but it had dead spots in the battery. This works great. No problems. For those who still maintain their Axim, this battery, for an acceptable price will give more time to use the Pocket PC without concerning about the power chords. The unconvenient is that the battery are big and has a extra volume on backside of the thin Axim X50. Only for those who wants to stay with their old gadgets in shape.Thursday, August 14, 2014

PalmOne Zire 72 Handheld
- Bright, 320x320 transflective TFT color display supports more than 65,000 colors
- 312 MHz Intel PXA270 processor, Palm OS v5.2.8, 32 MB RAM (24 MB actual storage)
- Integrated 1.2 MP digital camera that also shoots video
- Expansion slot that supports MMC, SD, and SDIO memory cards
- Palm Desktop Software for Windows and Mac and Software Essentials CD included
Well, I got my Zire 72 and I love it. I now have a complete photo album, a voice recorder, a camera plus the usually Palm goodies. Instead of hauling around a bunch of very heavy dictionaries, I am now loading them onto the Palm. No, the camera isn't as good as my stand-a-long Kodak, but it is fine and handy to have. The quality of the voice recordings is excellent-far better than my two stand-a-lone digital recorders. The included documents-to-go program works well and I actually do find myself working of documents in places I would never haul my lap-top.
If you have an older Palm-my last one was an m105, I think you would be really surprised at how much more useful the newer high-res Palms are. For the price that Amazon is selling the Zire 72, it is rather an incredible package. I'm really happy I stuck with Palm.
Buy PalmOne Zire 72 Handheld Now
After reading many reviews here at Amazon and at other opinion sites, I went ahead and gambled with the 72, considering most of the reviews were negative. My reasoning for going ahead with the purchase was simply because for the money, no other Palm device came close to offering everything that the 72 did. Plus, most of the negative reviews were for cosmetic issues. And I have had two Palms in the past (an original Palm Pilot Pro and a Palm IIIx) and had great service from both.
For my job, the 72 has been better than I expected it could be. I can open, edit, even create Excel spreadsheets in native .xls format. I have purchased an app called Note Studio that is incredible at organizing notes and text files. I can take pictures and listen to mp3's along with using the traditional Palm apps (the agenda view for the calendar is great).
I have since added a WiFi card and when in the presence of a wireless network or a T-Mobile hotspot, I can browse the web, check my corporate email, etc. Like I said, it has exceeded my expectations.
A couple of notes... I notice that one reviewer said his never held a charge, even after the 3+ hours initial charging.
The recomended initial charging is at least 12 hours, not 3. And the intructions are emphatic on this point, saying that any less than a 12 hour initial charge willeffect the future performance and life of the battery. Mine could use better battery life, but I use it extensivley daily (3 4 hours) and I charge mine nightly and have never "run out" of charge. I think the average user using the 72 for contacts, reminders, planning, etc., will have no problem going three or four days on a charge.
I have had the device for almost two months now and I have had it freeze twice. Both times required a reset. Once I was editing a spreadsheets using the Documents to Go application while playing an MP3 in the background, and once I was setting up my WiFi card.
The reason for four stars and not five? The blue finish. This is supposedly some sort of new DuPont coating. It appears to be either too soft or simply doesn't adhere as needed to the smooth plastic underneath. I don't have a serious issue with it as I have been very careful, but i can see with even average use with no case, you would have an ugly Palm rather quickly. I have a piece of the blue coating around where the stylus goes in where mine has peeled.
The reason I didn't count off more for this is because you can virtualy solve it... buy the hard case from Palm. 29 bucks and the 72 fits perfectly and snuggly in foam supports and protects the looks. It still fits in a shirt pocket and even has a sliding cover on the rear that protects the camera lens. All ports and card slots are exposed so that you really never have to take it out of the case (I don't).
Don't be scared of the Palm Zire 72. Two suggestions...
Follow the instructions following battery charging EXACTLY and,
BUY THE HARD CASE. You won't regret your purchase.
Just opinions from an owner.

The Zire 72 seems like such a great product. It has built-in bluetooth, USB, a camera, voice recorder, SD card slot, mp3 player, all the standard timeand contact-management utilities, and an extensive third-party development environment. For the most part it lives up to expectations.HOWEVER, after using my Zire for a couple weeks I have to comment on a few problems I've run into...
First has got to be the -reallybad paint job which stared flaking off the very first day! Plan on spending a few extra bucks to get a "skin" when they come out (and they will, since -everyonewho buys a Zire 72 will need one). The paint is a sort of rubbery texture that I'm sure they put on to provide a better grip (which it does). Unfortunately it does not stick very well at all to the underlying surface. It is very easy to scrape it with just a fingernail to expose the underlying surface. It doesn't stop there either, because once dinged, the damage slowly spreads as the nearby paint continues to peel away, especially up near the top right where you're always rubbing against it to pull the stylus out.
Second is the awful camera performance. Actually, the camera itself seems to work ok, but the auto-exposure firmware really doesn't work well at all. If you take the time to manually adjust the settings (sunlight/incandescent/flourescent, low-light) and can wait a few moments for the camera software to catch up then you can get some decent pictures, indoors or out. If you don't, the results will be generally low-quality (over/underexposed, grainy, bad color, etc.).
Third is the marginal battery life. I can get through a whole day on a fully-charged battery, but only just. I'm concerned that as time goes by and the battery degrades that I'm going to have problems running out of power before the day is done. That would not be so bad if I chould just throw in another set of AAA cells, but that's not an option with the built-in battery on the Zire. If I forget to plug it in overnight I don't even get through my morning. Not good. Plan on carrying around the power adaptor with you for emergencies (or buying one for the office and one for home).
Next is the lack of a built-in file manager. I was able to get the "media" app on the palm to display some mpeg video clips I had made before purchasing the Zire. Encouraged by my success, I tried an avi and a Quicktime file. These transferred to the SD card I know because the available filespace went down but they did not show up in the "media" app. Ok, failed experiment, no big deal. However, they also are not visible in the main "delete" menu, or anywhere else I've checked. So it seems that if no app on the Zire recognizes a file, there appears to be no way to reclaim the space from within the palm short of reformatting the card and resyncing to recover your data! Bad user interface.
Also, speaking of cards, you -mustget a SD card if you plan on playing audio or video. The only exception is the built-in voice recorder, which will record to and play from the built-in RAM. The Realplayer audio player and the video capture feature of the camera on the other hand require a card to store data on.. you will not be able to use either feature without one.
I give the Zire 72 a 3-star rating as is, deducting 1 star each for the awful paint job and the user interface issues with file management and camera auto-exposure (non)functionality. With a hopefully forthcoming firmware update from PalmOne to address the softare issues, and a little work on my part stripping off the rest of the paint I think I might be inclined to bump that up to 4 stars.
If they had left off the paint entirely and fixed the software issues I would definitely be giving it a solid 4 stars, maybe even 4.5 (0.5 off for battery life).
Want PalmOne Zire 72 Handheld Discount?
I'm thrilled that they've released this model (especially at this price!) While palm hasn't managed to get it "perfect" just yet, this model is a definite improvement over the Zire 71! If you're new to the Zire series, be sure to read the specs there's a ton of great features for this price! For starters, there's a higher resolution on the built-in hidden camera. It's now up to 1.2 Megapixels, with automatic white control (which basically means that in most situations you don't need a flash!). It's not as high of a resolution as Sony's models, but still a definitely improvement. Of course bringing the photos to the desktop is very easy when you use the included Palm desktop software! Now with the addition of video it's even better!
Second is the redesign some reviewers of the Zire 71 called the unit "slippery", but I haven't had that problem with this model!
Third, is the BlueTooth. I've found it to be less easy to use than WiFi, which is popular with PocketPC and higher-end Palm models, but still very effective for accessing the internet. However, with WiFi you can't connect to the internet AND have a local network with other BlueTooth users so if there was only one technology to choose from BlueTooth is the one. I swear if this unit had WiFi I would have bought one for everyone I know! Also why it gets 4 out of 5 stars.
With this model they have included a conduit to sync with Outlook, which previously had to be purchased. That's a big draw, especially for multimedia-loving office workers!
They've also redesigned the model some, including removing the joystick. Some reviewers of the Zire 71 disliked the joystick because they felt it turned the unit on excessivily, but I loved (and will miss) the Joystick for playing the Sonic the Hedgehog game that was released for the Zire 71. I find that the directional button that palm has changed to can be clumsy for game-playing.
Two years ago I would have given this unit 5 stars, but Palm seems to always be slightly behind the times. Of course BlueTooth is a nice edition, and the redesigned packaging is also a note that Palm is paying attention. However, if they had added Wifi instead of BlueTooth I'm sure they would be selling a lot more of these. The camera resolution is less than the Sony Clie's, but still an overall improvement. The price is what makes it such a catch you get the basic functions of most high-end Palm Pilots, for half the cost. If you're into multimedia and contact management this is definitely the unit for you! It seriously makes contact management FUN!Defending the Zire 72 Palm handheld.
I have a Zire 72, and I am convinced that it is an excellent PDA. However this particular Palm gets relatively bad reviews and bad ratings. This document will record each negative thing that I could find about this PDA and my response to these comments. Is the Zire 72 the best PDA for everyone from every walk of life? No, and it doesn't intend to be. But as for what it DOES intend to be, this Palm is one of the best, in my opinion.
Negative Comments:
1.) The Palm continually crashes.
Response: This does not necessarily have anything to do with the Zire 72. The Palm OS is not the most stable of all operating systems. Having said that, I can say with all certainty that my Zire 72 does not continually crash. This is the second Zire 72 that I have owned. The first one I owned I sold to my brother. Yes, it does continually crash. However, it is noteworthy that this Palm is over 3 years old, has been dropped several times, the speaker has been broken, it has been stepped on by the dog, and the battery has been severely abused.
2.) The paint peels off too easy.
Response: Yes, the first Zire 72's that came out had a blue rubber finish that did come off quiet easily. However, my Zire 72, as well as any Zire 72 made within the last year or so, will not have this problem, the Palm now has a different kind of paint, and it still looks the same. Also, Palm has come out with a special edition of the Zire 72 that has no paint and is silver like other PDA's such as the Tungsten E, E2 etc.
3.) Palm has bad service.
Response: This is a common objection to the Zire 72 and many other Palm handhelds. However, even if this allegation were true about Palm, it would have nothing to do with the Zire 72 itself (as well as any other Palm handheld). The Zire 72 could be the greatest PDA ever, and if someone drops it and it breaks, and Palm gives them a hard time about it, that is between Palm and them. I am not here to defend Palm as a company, only this particular handheld. I only mentioned this objection because it is so widely held among people who review the Zire 72. People will have a bad experience and give this Palm a 1-star rating which causes its average to go down. The Zire 72 doesn't have bad service, Palmone does.
4.) It's not very compatible with Windows XP
Response: This is simply not true as far as I know. I have Windows Xp and it works great with this PDA and the Hotsync software. Xp is very compatible with USB devices. This particular user may have just not known how to configure his system properly.
5.) Poor battery life
Response: Not really. Granted the Zire 72 doesn't have the best battery life out of all the PDAs, I have not had any problems with it in this respect. I will say that the Zire 72 has an extremely bright screen. If you turn down the brightness on this screen it will greatly increase the battery life. (NOTE: Even after turning the brightness on the screen to its lowest setting, the Zire 72 still has a brighter output than virtually any Sony Clie and many other PDA's).
6.) It is too delicate and there is no case to protect this unit.
Response: This is simply not true, yet it is still used to give this Palm bad ratings. Palm has made a wonderful hard case for this unit that they will include for free if you buy the Zire 72 through them. There is also a hard plastic clear case, and Rhinoskin has also recently come out with a case for this unit.
7.) The price is too high.
Response: Not by a long shot. Considering that this Palm has a camera, and Mp3 player, a voice recorder, Bluetooth, a 312Mhz processor, and a thin lightweight design it is not expensive at all compared to other PDA's with far less features. Actually, since this Palm is not all too popular, you can find it for even less. You can get a brand new Zire 72 for less than $200.
8.) It constantly losses all its data
Response: I have never had a problem with this. The only Zire 72 I've ever heard of loosing its data is my brothers that has been dropped, stepped on, is not totally functional and has had serious battery abuse. Allot times people using these kinds of arguments may not be telling the whole story...
9.) The camera is horrible
Response: This problem occurs when people buy a PDA with the preconceived idea that the camera feature is a replacement for a 5.1Mp digital camera. If they had owned PDA's with a camera function before, they would not be as disappointed. Yes, I do agree that the Clie has a better light filter or whatever you want to call it, however the Zire 72's camera can produce the 3rd highest resolution out of all PDA's I know of. However, regardless of what PDA you're buying, don't get one with a camera as a means of replacing a real camera. The Zire 72 has a 1.2 Mega-Pixel camera. The best camera on any PDA I know of is a Sony Clie with a 2.0 mega-pixel camera. Still, this will not replace the 7 and 8 mega-pixel cameras that are made solely for producing high quality photos.
10.) No Wifi
Response: This is true, of course this can be added on later via SD wireless card. While the Zire 72 does have built in Wifi, not many PDA's really did back when it came out, especially not any with all the other features the Zire 72 has. It does have Bluetooth however, which can also be used for Internet use.
11.) Lacks camera lens cover.
Response: All I can say is, I have owned Zire 72's for 3 years and I have never once gotten one scratch on the lens. The lens in recessed back into the device so it is not going to get scratched simply by laying it down. Besides, if you get the hard case for this Palm it solves the problem. This is something you are going to want to do if you get a Zire 72 anyways, or any PDA for that matter.
12.) Battery not user replaceable
Response: Palm has never made a PDA that has this feature, I have a hard time believing that they ever had any intention to. You cant blame the Zire 72 for something that all other handhelds made by Palm have in common with, but rather, you can blame Palm as a whole.
13.) SD card is recessed too far and is hard to get in and out.
Response: Again this is something that is common to many Palm handhelds. As opposed to the Sony Clie models whose memory stick protrude about 2mm out from the unit, Palm has decided to make the card slot on their units hold the card in deeper. This is something that you will get used to and something you must face regardless of what Palm you buy. If you decide to buy a Sony instead based on this issue, your faced with another problem. The cards on the Sony stick out too much. While they are easier to take in and out, you are always running the risk and banging it on something causing the card to be ejected, lost, or damaged.
14.) No attachable flip cover.
Response: Again this is something that all Palms have in common. People with these complaints are obviously those who have previously owned Sony PDA's. I personally find flip covers annoying, and took mine off back when I owned a Sony Clie. At any rate, as I've said before, you are going to want to buy the hard metal case that is compatible with the Zire 72, it will offer much more protection than any flip cover!
15.) One guy said, "The output signal from the headphone jack is *far* too loud. I have to set system sounds to "low" to get a volume that is bearable to my ears. I'd prefer a softer volume, though."
Response: This is why Palm has engineered this unit with the ability to lower the volume. This particular users preference is that the volume would be softer, which is fine, but why would you give the Zire 72 a negative mark for it because you had to go into the system to turn the volume down? The next person might prefer the volume to be louder, in which case he could turn UP the volume. I personally can hardly hear the system sound coming from the external speaker. I suppose it would be loud if you used headphones to listen to the beeps and ticks as you browse through system applications, but this would seem like a strange to do. However, no matter what your volume preference is, the Zire 72 is compatible either way...
16.) The headphone jack output produces a clearly audible background "hiss".
Response: This "hiss" is not audible while listening to Mp3's. I listen to my Zire 72's MP3 player every night and have been for 2 years. It's great. Yes you can hear a noise when there is no music and the headphones are plugged in, just like in many devices that use headphones. This sound ensure you that the headphones are in the device and are properly connected. Also might I add in defense of the MP3 player, Realone player is great! With the five-way directional pad you with switch through songs very quickly!
I think its funny to note that Cnet's review on the Zire 72 yielded a typically low rating among other handhelds they have reviewed before. Here are some things that where said:
THE GOOD THINGS:
Integrated 1.2-megapixel camera with video-record function,
Bluetooth,
Fast processor,
Multimedia support,
Robust software bundle,
Expansion slot,
THE BAD THINGS:
No Wi-Fi
Lacks camera lens cover
Battery not user-replaceable.
It appears that there are twice as many good things then bad things about the Zire 72 according to this review. And two of the bad things, especially the replaceable-battery issue I've already shown not to be serious things at all.
If you read through the review that Cnet has, you will find that the overwhelming testimony of the this PDA is positive, hardly anything bad is said about it, yet it only obtains a mere 6.8 rating. Lets look at another PDA that Cnet reviewed.
The Sony Clie TJ37. Here's what was said by Cnet:
THE GOOD THINGS:
Built-in Wi-Fi, (The Zire 72 does not have this, but it does have Bluetooth whereas the TJ37 does not.)
Integrated 310,000-pixel camera, (The Zire 72's camera is 1,200,000 pixel)
Fast processor, (The Zire 72's is faster)
MP3 and video playback, (The Zire 72 has this as well)
Slim form factor (As does the Zire 72)
The bad:
Comes with outdated Date Book and Address Book apps, (The Zire 72 does not)
No Bluetooth, (The Zire 72 does)
Dim screen, (The Zire 72 has one of the brightest screen I've ever seen)
Poor battery life, (The Zire 72 has fine battery life)
Lacks user-replaceable battery (Hardly any PDAs don't! That's what I've been saying!)
As opposed the 3 negative things Cnet wrote about the Zire 72 (two of which aren't very substantial) there are five negative things said about the TJ37, 4 of which are substantial in my opinion. You may think, "well maybe even though the TJ37 has more negative things, all of its positive things make up for it." I've already shown that the only thing the TJ37 has over the Zire 72 is Wifi, and that gets cancelled out with the Bluetooth anyway. What rating did Cnet give the TJ37? A 7.3. No it isn't a great deal higher than the Zire 72's rating but there is no reason why this PDA should have gotten a higher rating. I do not agree with the rating that Cnet gave to the Zire 72, and even if I did I would still expect to see that other PDA's rated to be rated by the same standard. Meaning the TJ37 would have something like a 6.4.
The Zire 72 is a very underrated Palm. The paint peeling issue just scared allot of people in my opinion and kind of ruined the market for this particular unit. Well spread the word! The paint-peeling problem has been dealt with! This unit is so fast, and you can practically work it with one hand. The five-way navigation pad is something that Palm has and Sony doesn't that really hurts for them. I think the Zire 72 accomplishes everything that it intends to, and if it weren't for all the false claims that have been made about it, there would be allot more people walking around with one.
Did I miss anything? Let me know!

rooCASE Super Bubble Neoprene Sleeve Case Cover for Gateway 11.6-Inch LT3119u Netbook (Black / Orang
In reality, this is just a standard netbook bag that fits netbooks ostensibly up to the size of the LT3119u. Unfortunately, since the case is **NOT** specifically for the LT3119u, the large battery pack on the outside makes this case just a notch too small for the Gateway LT3119u (hahah!). But, it is neoprene, so you can sort of stretch it around to fit, but it is most definitely not a custom-designed fit for this netbook.
But whatever. The case ITSELF (modulating out for the seller's implication of a custom fit) is very nice quality and will protect my netbook just fine.

PalmOne Zire 72 Hard Case P10968U
However, the thing is practically impossible to hold in your left and hand and use. The cover swings to the left, leaving nowhere to put your hand to hold it. Fine if you just use it at your desk (or if you're a leftie), but then why do you need the hard case?
The other problem is there's no way to attach a belt clip. Again, great if you're only using it at your desk... Why couldn't they just have a screw point on the back, so you could attach a clip or not if you need it?
My husband bought this for work, where his pda receives rough treatment in an industrial environment. It does provide the necessary protection, but little other practicality. He had to buy a separate case (a bulky Targus universal case/pouch with belt loop, which the hard case fits into) to carry it around with him. He still hasn't worked out the problem of how he's supposed to hold it.
Basically, it lives in the case at work, but comes out as soon as he leaves--not exactly ideal. The good thing about this hard case is that it'll protect the handheld. Those who are left-handed will have no problems, but us right-handed will find it very unconfortable. Since it does not fully open,(the picture above that displays as open as it can be) the case will be in your way to hold it. An other thing that I didn't like was that in order to retrive the expansion cards held in the hard case, you have to take off first the handled in order to be able to get the cards.
I wouldn't recommend this hard case if you are right handed

I was very eager to get this case for my new Zire 72. It's certainly a beautiful case, but not very functional. The front cover doesn't flip all the way under, so that if you're holding it with your left hand, it's difficult to reach the control buttons with your left thumb, as you should be able to. You cannot access the voice recorder button or the slots for the expansion cards unless you remove your zire from the case. Also, the top and bottom are completely open, which provides ready access to the slots, etc, however it does nothing to protect my zire from debris, etc, from the bottom of my purse. Also, the cradle impedes my access to the stylus slightly.I do like the sliding window in the back that opens so that I can take pictures and video, though.

The hard case is an excellent product. Since this case was built specifically for the Zire 72, it will fit snugly. While I'm sure the hard case is easier for lefties to use, I have not had any trouble cradling it in my left hand and using the stylus in my right. (Hint: When the hinges open up, there are gaps in the outer case. Place a finger or thumb in that gap and the hard case is easier to cradle. If your hands are too big to do that, then you probably won't have any trouble cradling the hard case anyway.) The hard case has many excellent characteristics with few shortcomings:Pros:
(1) Case is quite sturdy and will protect your Zire 72 casual drops or just the normal hazards of a commute on a subway or airplane.
(2) A sliding port on the back to allow one to use the camera without removing the PDA from the case.
(3) An open top to provide access to the card slot, on/off button, earphone plugs, and stylus.
(4) An open bottom for the power cord and mini-USB cable.
(5) The case is small enough to slip into a shirt pocket or the breast pocket of a suit.
Cons:
(1) The voice memo button is covered up by the case. You may want to consider reprogramming one of the other buttons to take that role.
(2) No storage for the Palm's WiFi card.
(3) You must remove the PDA from the hard case to put it into any other holder such as a car cradle or belt carrier. On the positive side, the Zire 72 slides in and out of the hard case with little effort.
(4) While the hard case has storage for two additional cards (normal sized, not WiFi), you must remove the PDA from the hard case to get at them.
Overall, I really like the hard case. It is classy enough that you can use it in a roomful of CEO's or college professors, but also tough enough to protect your PDA from the hazards of a daily commute

I bypassed many universal cases to wait for this one. I chose it mainly because my Zire 72 fits snugly, it offers excellent protection, and the inclusion of the camera door. I do agree that the left-swinging cover takes some getting used to, but I don't think it's as much of a problem as the other reviewers. I got used to it fairly easily.I have two problems with this case. One is the lack of access to the voice memo button. The other problem is the expansion card holders behind the handheld; you have to remove the handheld from the case to get to the holders. Other than these minor problems, this is an excellent hard case. If you don't use the voice memo function often or use a lot of expansion cards, I would recommend it to anyone with a Zire 72.

Microsoft LifeChat LX-6000 for Business
- Clear stereo sound - The wideband digital audio reproduces sound accurately.
- Noise-canceling microphone - Meetings and conference calls will be more productive as voices clearly cut through even noisy surroundings.
- Inline volume and microphone controls - Adjust volume or mute on the fly with handy inline controls. The call indicator light lets people know you're "busy."
- Plug and Play Simplicity - No software. Just plug it in and you're in business.
- All-Day Comfort - Ergonomically influenced earpieces and a 270-degree adjustable microphone provide all-day comfort.
I spoke with Jason at the Microsoft Replacement desk and had no issues requesting a replacement though it's on backorder and may be a bit of a wait. That call was fairly short and pleasant. Bumping the review up from 2 stars to 3 as the combination of good audio and good customer service make it more palatable.

We purchased a very cheap Plantronics headset to record demos and trainings using a screen capture software. The headset was really cheap, but when recording it had a fuzzy sound. I wanted to purchase a more expensive headset to get a more premium recording sound. I looked for noise cancellation. Most reviews on the headsets I found still had background noise, even though it stated noise cancellation as a recording feature. This product did not have a review so I thought I would provide one for future buyers. I literally just unboxed this headset and hooked it up. I was blown away by the quality of the speakers. It fit very comfortably and most importantly it recorded a crisp and clean track. No background fuzz or anything. I cannot give my opinion on how long it will last, but the durability seems there. It came with a tie string pouch for it to be placed in. Overall very good product!!!Read Best Reviews of Microsoft LifeChat LX-6000 for Business Here
I'm no Microsoft fanboi by any stretch of the imagination, but like their Natural keyboards, they again show that while they're not a hardware company, they understand good hardware.I'm sometimes on loooong conference calls. These guys are super comfortable even during a long call. Sound is excellent, though I'm not using them for music or anything. The Lync controls are excellent, and the main reason I got these...I'd been looking for a wireless Lync capable headset, but all the ones I could find looked like bluetooth earpieces and I was looking for more of a headset like this.

The quality of the material are really good.Pros:
This fit well to use in one ear, you just have adjust it to the small size.
The microphone turn to both sides, so you can use it in the right or in the left.
The voice quality and the sound is great.
There is a light in the Microsoft, so another people can see when it is active.
It is comfortable and don't hurt your ear if you use it for a long time (~2hour in my test).
This blocked the environment sound better than I expected. Usually the small phones like this one, do not do it very well. This is great.
It seems like you can hear you voice when talking in the phone. This way you don't speak loud when you are using it.
Cons:
Actually I didn't find any cons for this product.I picked up the LX-6000's through Amazon as they're not yet available at the company store on campus. They work great on Win7 and Win8 and are a lot more comfortable than the lx-3000/4000 the replace. The microphone is also much better than the microphone on the lx-3000/4000 series and they headset is Lync certified!

In the REAL world it is understood that when you buy a "pen", it comes containing a cartridge as part and parcel of the "pen" (ie: body+original cartridge=pen). Accordingly, I saw nobody out there selling empty pen-shells or who felt it necessary to mention that their pens actually also include ink; it is just understood that a pen comes ready to write. Also in the REAL world, "Refill" means... additional ... replacement to an original. Commonly, to say a pen comes "WITH" something it would suggest something added to ....extra. ... along-with.
That is the REAL word, but apparently THIS vendor lives in a world where its ok to omit the ORIGINAL ink cartridge, preload their "Refill" and charge you a dollar or two more than the competition for this service ... while playing word-tricks to fool customers who think they're actually getting 2 total cartridges.
If the vendor simply meant to describe the one cartridge in the package... would it not have been more honest to say :
"Monteverde One-Touch Originals Stylus Ballpoint Pen; cartridge writes 1.4mm Super Broad." ?
Hard to say if this vendor is dishonest or simply stupid but...buy your single-cartridge pen from someone else and save a couple bucks on that phantom "Refill".
