I bought this for my ipad mini...the magnets are too weak to hold the cover properly on the ipad...additionally to cover never correctly aligned on the ipad...sent back to amazon...spend the extra $ and buy the apple cover instead.

It looks good protects the I-Pad Mini, but when I fold it back it has a tendency to shut of the power. It's not a big problem I just take it off but wished it worked the way the apple version worked.

Want Gearonic PU Leather Magnetic Smart Slim Cover for Apple iPad mini, Gray (AV-5236GPUIB) Discount?

Fits great with a protective back and a Zagg skin added .Ive had no trouble with the magnet turning the ipad mini off while its folded back..I purchased it in white.

Looking for a proper *black* Smart Cover for your iPad Mini? This is it. Very very very close to Apple's own Smart Cover, great fit, and a nice dark black.

One catch, which may be a dealbreaker for some: the autosleep magnets are a bit too strong, so that when you open the cover and flip it all the way around to the back, it'll put the iPad back to sleep!

I ordered one and when I got it, it did not work. So I contacted you about this and it was replaced. But when I got it, it also did not work. So then I tried to return them and get my money back. When I did this was the last I had heard from anyone until now. So now I am sitting here with two trackballs and neither of them work. So yes, I have handed over my hard earned cash and have gotten screwed over for doing it. What am I suppose to do with these things? And why can't I get my money back? I should not have to pay for something that doesn't work. If you look you will notice that I have not placed an order with you since this has happened. And will not unless you make this right.

SmartMedia 16MB Digital Flash Memory Card

SmartMedia 16MB Digital Flash Memory CardI bought this media card to test an old digital camera, an Olympus C-720, and it works perfectly. More of a toy device these days, but fun to test old electronics.

Product was made in Japan.

hard to write superlatives as this is merely a storage device. but it works as expected and for that, I'm well satisfied.

I bought this about five years ago. It has since worked flawlessly. It's range is as advertised with about 10m. Sometimes it's a little less, but it is subject to interference just like any other RF device. I have only used this for streaming to headphones. I've had three pair of headphones and it worked just fine with each of them. Also, being a plug and play product I've never had any issues with it working with any computer I've had. I would recommend this to anyone that needs an adapter for bluetooth headphones.

I just plugged this into my friends Windows 2003 Server machine and it worked like a champ. The OS recognized it and had drivers built-in. I had the same experience with my 2003 machine and Win 2008 R2 Server. No joy with XP however. I have been using this since it came out and it is rock solid. I own 4 other dongles and they're all sitting in a drawer because this one is so easy to use. Highly recommend this unit. Works well with the Motorola S805's.

Palm Z22 Handheld

Palm Z22 Handheld
  • Cool, affordable handheld with 32 MB of flash memory and bright color screen
  • Perfect replacement for your messy paper daily organizer
  • Weighing in at just over 3 ounces, this lightweight organizer is about the size of a deck of cards
  • Easily connect and synchronize with data stored on your computer; view digital photos
  • Palm Desktop Software for Windows and Mac

After 10 years Palm have finally returned to their roots and released

a PDA. Not a wannabe phone/walkman/portable dvd/game console/wireless

web browser/photo album/book. It's an actual, honest to God, Personal

Digital Assistant. Yes, it can do some of those other things too, but

I'm not having to pay for expensive features like bluetooth and hifi

quality audio.

The Z22 is being marketed as an entry level PDA. But that's wrong. I

am a long time PDA user who has owned, among other devices, a Palm

Pilot Professional, an m505, a Zire 71 and a Tungsten T3. But this is

my favourite device of all. For a start it's the best looking PDA ever

sold. Palm must have taken a leaf out of Apple's book. When I look at

my Z22 I think it could have dropped out of the clean futuristic sets

of movie like 2001. This is the future that Stanley Kubrick promised

us and never arrived. But at least my Palm looks like it's from that

future. It's also light due to not being weighed down by a metal case

and a ton of hardware I don't want.

It does all the usual PDA stuff well: Calendar, Memos, Contacts and so

on. 32MB is completely adequate for these tasks, even if you decide

to add photos to your contact list. For these tasks the hardware is

completely up to the task.

I also use my Z22 for reading eBooks. It's great for this. 160x160 is

enough for completely clear text. Unfortunately I do miss one feature

of my T3 the SD card slot. Without this I can't use my unabridged

Webster's dictionary that weighs in at 37MB. But the 10MB Webster's is

good enough for most tasks.

One place where I feel Palm have cut corners is the display. There are

sometimes unsightly vertical streaks in it, I'm guessing due to using

a poor digital-to-analogue converter. For most tasks this isn't an

issue. Photos can look a little ugly however and you often see aliasing

artifacts. One place where the poor display quality is visible is when

you read books in autoscroll mode. The display really isn't fast enough to

keep up with scrolling text. But hey, this device costs $100 new!

The device has only 2 application buttons instead of the usual

4. Surprisingly I haven't noticed the loss at all.

There are a couple of other annoyances that are common to almost

all current PDAs so I'll just list them quickly: difficult to replace

battery, display not visible in sunlight (unlike my Palm Pilot), use of

Graffiti2/Jot making reliable text entry next to impossible (Palm won

the lawsuit, bring back Graffiti 1!).

Palm have dropped the universal connector in favour of a new small USB

port. That means I can't use my old peripherals. I do hope I can use my

wireless keyboard however, when Palm release Z22 drivers.

By paring down the PDA to its essentials Palm have made a winner. But

there's one feature I would have liked to have kept the SD card

slot. Providing such a slot would at least have given a choice about

how much to spend on storage. But like I say, apart from the dictionary

I don't miss it that much. (Hmmm...I have to admit that I did enjoy

playing Infocom games on my T3 using Clifrotz too, but I'll survive...)

Buy Palm Z22 Handheld Now

I've been using the z22 for a few days and have found it to be a great product for anyone not concerned with wireless, a large handheld display screen or extended memory. I've used palms for several years and keep a lot of technical notes in the Palm memo app for use when I'm in remote locations doing system adminstration work. My previous palm was a III xe it was trailing edge technology but very durable and useful as long as I could find a synching machine that still had a serial connection.

The install for the z22 was easy and worked flawlessly. I tried the install via the usb port on Macintosh System X and Windows XP formats. The installation program pulled all my old palm info into the Z22; memos, contacts, calendar and task functions were all maintained in the upgrade. Some of the older applications were not compatible with the Palm 5 OS on the z22. Most of the problems apps were old games that I was not that concerned about.

For under $100 dollars, I'm very impressed with the following;

1) colors are bright and reading the screen is easy in light or dark settings.

2) I currently have 17.5 mbytes memory left on the z22 after the upgrade. In the PC world, this is very little memory, but for a Palm environment this is a lot of entries. If I was concerned about using mp3's, video, doc, or Excel files on a palm format, I would consider another device.

3) The battery lasts a long time. I once used a Palm M515 color palm and it needed recharged a lot more than the Z22 does. The advertised time of 8 hours between charges is probably accurate.

4) The size and weight of this device is very light it is not much bigger than my pager and fits very comfortably in a pocket.

The only problem I've had with the Z22 is that when I use it with a Taurus wireless keyboard, the response is somewhat slow and delayed. Also, the 160X160 screen size might be of concern to some people, but I find it to be very readable with bi-focally challenged eyes.

Is there anything really innovative about this device? Not really. But I think Palm did a great job of combining the right features into an entry level color organizer for a double diget price.

I guess you can call me a gadget freak. I've got a drawer full of electronic gadgets and gone through numerous inventions of our modern world. I've owned and used three generations of iPods (mini, 4G, nano, and video iPod), countless cell phones (from TDMA times to GSM), notebooks and computers, and most importantly (and the reason we're here today), PDA's.

This isn't my first time with a personal digital assistant. My first foray with PDA's was a PalmOne Treo 600, then Motorola MPx200; after the Treo died and MPx200 bored, I went to a Palm TX, then SMT5600; after those I transitioned into a HP iPaq RX1955, and finally I just had to do it and get back to the Z22.

If you take the time to read reviews and consider your purchase choices before you click the checkout button, you have probably thought about getting a Windows Mobile device, and trust me, I've been down that route (as you can see from the boring list above).

If you did think about Windows Mobile, then maybe this is the device for you (yes, I'm serious).

You can never have too many electronics devices, however, you only have two hands, two ears, two eyes and a brain. Sure, you can have one device that does it all, or multiple devices that do things well. It's your choice, but now if you take a moment and look around you your cell phone probably plays MP3's; your MP3 player probably has calendar functions on it; your laptop does everything you need including internet; oh wait your phone also does internet AND play mp3's AND videos; d'oh, your PSP plays better quality videos, etc...nowadays the rage is toward convergence devices, yet eventually you'll find yourself, out of all your gadgets and what-not, leaning toward just one thing...

Then why did you waste money on everything else? You buy a product because you have a need for its primary function, not the extra things you're using, right?

In the times of maddening convergence devices, I've returned to the Z22 for my day planner needs. Simplicity is the most elegant form of art.

Ok, enough on the bull. You want the dirt, and here it is:

The Z22 isn't outfitted with the prettiest screen (if you want a gorgeous screen try the Palm TX or Lifedrive guaranteed to be amazing, especially when you play videos via TCPMP), the most powerful processor (in fact, Z22 has just the opposite of that), or the most memory (modern Windows Mobile devices has 128+ MB of memory, but more on that later), but it's outfitted with design and thoughfulness.

First of all, Palm makes the Z22. Palm also happens to be the company whose predecessors brought handheld organizers to the mass market. In its most recent form, Garnet (V5.4), has evolved into an operating system that promotes simplicity, function, and usefulness. Surely, WM5 (Windows Mobile 5.0) has better multimedia capabilities, Office-"compatible" suites, and supports more connectivity options right out of the box, but the OS isn't mature enough compared to PalmOS in terms of user-friendliness and design.

WM5 strives to be the OS that does everything and ends all competition, and while its feature set offers the promise, the execution is poor. WM5 brings the Windows interface to a handheld, and that translates mouse clicks to stylus taps, scrollbars to (well, scrollbars), and menus to cascaded menus. Everything in WM5 is organized as options in a menu. To get something done, you find yourself having to rely on your stylus to click, click and click. Some, like me, find this completely annoying. What's the need for a PDA for quick notes if I have to click through 5 or 6 menu options to get there? WM's model renders keystrokes and buttons completely useless, and this in terms complicates things. Try this out in person and compare to the same thing you're trying to accomplish in PalmOS, and you will see what I mean.

PalmOS, on the other end, has gotten more of the things worked out. You still need a stylus, but a lot of the operations and navigations between menus and programs can be done with the directional buttons and softkeys, quicker and better, than WM in a lot of cases. It's also a more organizer-oriented system where it puts users and their data first. Take HotSync (Palm) vs. ActiveSync (WM) and you'll see the difference. One of them carefully backs up your PDA and syncs your personal files, displaying progress along the way, and gives your a detail log, color-coded and with OK in front of each line item, if something goes wrong; the other rushes through synchorization quickly and loads your files in bundles you'll never know what they're copying from/to your PDA then if there's an error you get a generic "Unresolved Item" error, then it's off to manually guess which items are not copied correctly; installing programs on a Palm means to click on the Palm file, and HotSync'ing it the next time, whereas on WM you'll have to figure out which file to click (programs can come in three different flavors, .CAB, .EXE and even .ZIP files), then upon ActiveSync you'll need to worry about if an unsigned program will corrupt the system or not, etc. Furthermore, PalmOS offers you a choice of syncing between Outlook and PalmOS, while if you use a WM device off to Microsoft Outlook you go. Where's the flexibility and choice?

Now to the device itself. Z22 comes with an older-generation processor and 32MB of memory. 32MB may not seem too much but it's pretty standard affair on Palm devices, and with the way PalmOS works it's just about enough (WM on the other hand...a different ballpark). Z22 has plenty of speed for the applications you'll run on it, and since it comes with no audio/video capability, expansion, or wireless connectivity you'll end up using only PIM features, which are completely acceptable and well laid out on the Z22. The softkey and directional buttons have tactile response, and while the screen isn't too great it has enough room to display all the key and basic graphics you need. Despite its basic feature set, you can use it with Datavis Documents to Go and an infrared keyboard for quick keyboarding; graffiti also has a wide range of recognition.

Now if you see the Z22 not for its lack of features, but more for its intended purpose, then this is the perfect match for you a digitalized (and smart) personal day planner.

When I had the Palm TX, Treo, and the various WM devices, there was always a major afterthought that I wasn't putting everything to full use. When I could play music on the TX via Pocket Tunes, I no longer needed the iPods; when I wrote emails and surfed the web on my laptop, I wouldn't touch the PDA's for the same function...eventually this "forced" convergence diverged again, and it ended up that most of the time the PDA was sitting in my desk drawer collecting dust...and every time I opened the drawer to get a pen or white-out, I would see the PDA sitting there a paperweight, and I died a little inside. I just didn't have the time, energy, or mood to play with these devices all day...and what good is a PDA if it sits in a drawer doing anything BUT working for you?

The Z22, however, reversed all that. Because of its small size and weight, I actually manage to bring it everywhere besides the days or places that I didn't need to; its quick response to basic note-taking and looking up an event in the calendar made organization an ease. No longer had I worried about not using a device fully the Z22 was working at its fullest potential being what it excels best: a personal organizer.

Then all other little things it offered were simply bonuses, like being able to run Documents to Go, tethering an IR keyboard, and running LyME (a basic computational package similar to MATLAB for Palm devices I'm an engineering student and sometimes I need to do quick math that a calculator can't readily perform). When you think about an electronic device that way, then it has made all the difference for you.

I never thought that a device so simple and seemingly "ineffective" can turn around and become one of the greatest electronic gadget I've ever had. This isn't an exaggeration...I spent a better part of the afternoon writing this, and now if I wasn't serious about this wouldn't I have spent that time doing something else instead?

Want Palm Z22 Handheld Discount?

I bought this PDA for my wife as she wanted one instead of having to deal with a hefty paper calender. She wanted something that was basic without all the extras such as a camera, or internet access that add $'s and can become confusing. After a little research I found this was the best option for its price.

The Palm Z22 has a great color screen and is super easy to use. Even after playing with it myself for 5 minutes I was comfortable with the stylus tool and was able to write very easily. My wife stores everything she needs on it and is VERY happy with it. The device is very easy to set up and the software is easy to install on your PC. The sync-ing between the PDA and PC is fast and easy as its through a USB port. Entries can be input on either the PDA or by typing on your PC and then sync it with the PDA. I think one of the best features for such a basic model is that you can transfer photos and veiw them. The quality is fairly low but its nice to have them on hand. I downloaded various extra programs for the PDA from the internet and they installed quickly and easily.

The only complaint I have is the quality of the materials. The plastic casing feels a little cheap, but you are paying base price for a PDA with a color screen. Also the rubber case that comes in the box is annoying to get on and off. This didn't stop me from buying the PDA though as I had read planty of good reviews about the actual PDA itself. Unfortunately there is a very limited selection of cases that support this model. A friend gave my wife a nice leather PALM case to keep it protected but its too big for the Z22 so it falls out easily. The only option as of now is a clear hard case.

Overall my wife is very happy, which makes me happy. So I would recommend this to any beginner wanting a basic PDA to keep track of their calendar, contacts, photos etc. but not want anything more.

Save 12% Off

Please note that I have given the Z22 five stars taking into account the relative value of the price and features. Obviously this is a low-end device, so it is rated accordingly.

I bought one of these for my mother, who is still using a heavily erased and crossed-out address book and paper calendar. She has been reticent to move to electronic organizers, and I eventually decided to get this one for her partly because of the following features:

1) it has NVFS, which means that when my mother invariably forgets to charge it she will not lose all of her information.

2) it is small, light, easy to use and has a color screen.

3) it is a palm, which i've used for years and can easily show her some helpful usage tips.

One feature that I didn't know the Z22 had, and have found to be the real 'hook' as far as my mother is concerned is the ability to add images to contacts. Now my mother has pictures of each of her children and grandchildren, which are linked to their contact info. For her, that was the clincher. I think she will finally now give up her address book.

The Z22 has a great form factor, and it resembles the ipod in appearance and size but the Palm is lighter. The screen isn't hi res, so don't expect hi definition with your photos but it gets the job done. And the processor is certainly speedy enough.

One other nice touch is that a screen protector is included in the package which I put on first thing. The software is pretty basic, and it includes a silly game called Crazy Daisy which will not likely get any usage.

There is one thing that I found frustrating, but it has to do with the packaging. They must be using a heavier gauge plastic for these packages, because it took me ten minutes to carefully cut through and open it without damaging the contents. Be sure you have a heavy duty exacto knife handy or a very large pair of shears.

When it comes to memory cards, for me, they either stink or they don't. This one works great.

The speed is more than fine on a professional Fuji camera and I don't notice any slowdown when going through the archive of pictures/videos. It's a class 4 (which is fine for most pics/vids) and transfers at a solid 15MB which again should be plenty if you're doing the normal video taking or picture taking.

If you're going to record in high definition (especially 1080) then I'd recommend a higher class card and more GB but if you're just wanting a memory card for normal picture files or smaller video files, this works great.

Also has a lock/unlock tab on the card just in case you want to protect your files from accidentally being erased.

rooCASE Super Bubble Neoprene Sleeve Case Cover for Gateway 11.6-Inch LT3119u Netbook (Black / Orang

rooCASE Super Bubble Neoprene Sleeve Case Cover for Gateway 11.6-Inch LT3119u NetbookSellers like this aggravate me when they say that such-and-such a product is "for" a specific model, because it implies that the fit is custom to the model.

In reality, this is just a standard netbook bag that fits netbooks ostensibly up to the size of the LT3119u. Unfortunately, since the case is **NOT** specifically for the LT3119u, the large battery pack on the outside makes this case just a notch too small for the Gateway LT3119u (hahah!). But, it is neoprene, so you can sort of stretch it around to fit, but it is most definitely not a custom-designed fit for this netbook.

But whatever. The case ITSELF (modulating out for the seller's implication of a custom fit) is very nice quality and will protect my netbook just fine.

It never fried, or delelted photos. It works great and i would get another one if i had to! I love this card. it is cheap and it works!!

Want CF MEMORY CARD 2GB FOR CANON DIGITAL REBEL EOS XT & XTi Discount?

I bought this chip for a back up for my new Canon Rebel XTi that I bought. While taking pictures at the beach it stored over 150pictures as corrupted files and when I went to remove the pictures that didn't get messed up, the chip fried and I have lost all my pictures and it no longer works in my camera! Not worth the hassle or the heart ache. As i'm wanting to make money in the profession of photography I can not have equipment that destroys what I photos I take. I need something that is consistent and long lasting. This product is neither. VERY disappointed!

Also the chip pictured is NOT what you receive! I received a white chip!

I ordered 3 of these for our organization. Were on a budget so I ordered the cheapest ones. One of the cards is not working, though. It can be read and formatted by the camera but the computer can not read it. I have tried multiple computers (all PCs). I've used the built in card readers, external card readers, and attempted plugging the cameraall with no luck. It's only $7 so it's not terrible, but still... I'd like working cards for our students.

Also, the card you receive is not the card that is pictured. I received some orange generic thing.

Sporteer Armband for iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch - PINK-SIZE S/M
  • Super-durable neoprene and stitching guaranteed not to tear
  • Full screen protector allows full touch screen functionality
  • Integrated hidden pocket for cash, credit card, key, etc.
  • Reflective material for nighttime activity
  • Adjustable arm strap fits nearly every arm size

I am pretty petite and by no means have big guns and this armband was pretty tight on me, if I loosen it then the velcro isn't strong enough to hold tight. It is okay for short runs but I find my arm starting to tingle a little on long runs and the phone gets really wet.

Sony VAIO VGN-P530H/W Lifestyle PC (1.33 GHz Intel Processor, 2 GB RAM, 60 GB Hard Drive with G-Sens

Sony VAIO VGN-P530H/W Lifestyle PC White
  • Intel® Processor (1.33GHz)
  • Genuine Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Basic 32-bit
  • 8.0" extra-widescreen LCD with XBRITE-ECO¿ technology & LED backlight
  • 2GB of pre-installed RAM & 60GB Serial ATA hard drive
  • Integrated Mobile Broadband and A2DP Bluetooth® technology

I've always been a fan of ultraportable computers, and I've owned a few, which include a Motion LS800 tablet, Raon Everun, Vaio TX, Vaio TZ, and an Asus 1000H. So, my review is based upon my experience with those machines. The Vaio P, in my opinion, is the ideal combination of portability and functionality, if typing is an integral part of your computing needs. I bought 2 of them (one for me, one for the wife) as soon as they were announced on the Sony website, and have been using it for about 2 weeks.

PRO'S:

(1) SCREEN RESOLUTION: One issue that I have always had with any ultraportable (outside of the Vaio TX and TZ) has been low screen resolution (e.g. 1028 x 680), which has always lead to lots of scrolling and/or zooming-out. The resolution on the Vaio P is, in one word, incredible. EVERY webpage is viewable in its entirety on the screen, as is EVERY document I need to read or edit. The downside is that text ends up being VERY small on the screen, but still legible to me (I type documents in 10-pt Times New Roman font). However, there is a personalization option available that allows you to make text/icons 125% larger than normal, which makes things much easier to see. My wife wears glasses and has trouble reading the text at normal settings, so she uses that mode and it works well for her.

(2) PORTABILITY: Okay, let's not kid ourselves here. This thing will NOT fit in your shirt/pants pocket (unless you're wearing very baggy cargo pants), but it will fit in a purse or any small satchel. Weight is negligible, even with the extended-life battery attached. Portability is a big thing for me in my profession (medical student, MD in a few months), and this machine can easily fit in the pocket of my white coat when I'm on the move.

(3) THE KEYBOARD: I type extensively as part of my profession, and having a usable keyboard is a component that has always been missing from any computer that I could carry on my person. My Motion tablet and Everun were useful for reading on-the-go, but essentially useless for typing anything beyond a short phrase. My Vaio TX/TZ have great keyboards (I've typed thousands of pages on them), but the machines themselves are too large to carry on me at all times.

Let me also take this opportunity to point out that, in comparison to the Asus 1000H, the Vaio P is not just another crappy netbook. The keyboard on the 1000H, for many reasons, is a low-quality component that definitely shows with heavy use. Any typing mistakes made with the Vaio P are genuinely my own keystroke mistakes, which was not the case with the Asus (90% of the time, it was just the junky keyboard causing mistakes). The right-shift key on the Vaio P is truncated, but its placement to the left of the arrow keys makes it a much more natural motion to hit, and something that you can become accustomed to without causing you to alter your typing accuracy on a normal-sized keyboard, which was really just impossible with the 1000H (that had the right shift key placed to the right of the arrow keys).

(4) FUNCTIONALITY: It is a fully-functional PC, capable of running any program you might need to run, given that you're not trying to use this as a gaming PC. I have installed Windows 7 on my Vaio P, which has made it much more efficient at running multiple programs simultaneously, as well as improving stability. I would highly recommend this upgrade for anyone purchasing this machine.

CONS:

(1) VISTA: This machine should have come standard with XP. Vista boot time is horrendously slow, even from hibernation, and installing Windows 7 does not fix this problem. My other ultraportables running XP were able to return from hibernation in about 20-60 seconds. The Vaio P takes probably 2-3 minutes. Maybe I'm a little impatient, but I want my computer to be ON when I turn it on. The integrated instant-on technology is not terribly useful to me because I generally need to use programs other than Media player or Firefox when I fire my machine up.

(2) NOT USER-UPGRADEABLE: As I understand it, the RAM is soldered to the motherboard and thus not upgradeable. 3 GB of RAM would have made the VAIO P much faster, and would have alleviated problem (1) I described above, and with 3 GB of RAM, Windows 7 would not even be a necessity because it would then be able to run Vista acceptably.

(3) STANDARD BATTERY LIFE: Sony touts 4 hours of life with the standard battery, which is of course a lie. It's more like 2.5 to 3 hours with screen brightness turned down to 1 or 2 (at which it is still very much readable/viewable), with WiFi on. I also have the large capacity battery, which takes it to 6.5 to 7 hours at the same settings. The large capacity battery adds maybe 1 to 1.5 cm of height to the machine, which is something of an eyesore, but I will make the sacrifice because the added battery life is worth more to me than the 0.2 lbs (not noticeable) and increased size.

(4) LACK OF TOUCHPAD: This omission is well-documented in other reviews; the pointing stick does what it is intended to do and it does it well -however, it does NOT replace the touchpad or a mouse. Most people are already well-aware of this issue before purchasing the Vaio P. One thing I would liked to have seen instead is the optical mouse like on the Raon Everun, which is an intuitive and exceptional pointing device that is easier to use than the pointing stick.

*CONCLUSION: the Vaio P is an exceptional device of modern engineering that allows its owners to maintain productivity at a level comparable to that of a laptop while away from home, or when lugging a laptop case is impractical -thus, I must stress that it is intrinsically a COMPANION PC. One should not expect this to REPLACE a primary PC, nor should one anticipate using this as their laptop 100% of the time, 24/7, because it simply would be foolish and needlessly uncomfortable to do so. I would make the analogy of comparing WiFi to a T1 connection -given the choice and availability, no one would choose WiFi over a T1 connection, but the convenience and mobility of a WiFi connection are advantages that the T1 cannot match. In the same way, the Vaio P offers unmatched portability and convenience, but its purpose is of a different nature than the primary laptop/desktop -so, as long as you keep that difference in mind, the Vaio P should enhance your productivity and live up to its tag of being a "lifestyle" PC.

Buy Sony VAIO VGN-P530H/W Lifestyle PC (1.33 GHz Intel Processor, 2 GB RAM, 60 GB Hard Drive with G-Sens Now

I was one of the first people to buy one of these and have been using it since the beginning of February. (Bought the VGN-P530H) This is my main computing device that I use 12-16 hours a day and I love it, but it is not for everybody.

I travel a lot, nearly all of it internationally, and often in economy. This is a laptop that you can use on the smallest of tray tables, even with the seat in front of you fully reclined. I bought the leather pouch accessory and often carry the laptop around in it. It's great to just be able to walk by my desk, toss it in the pouch and go to a meeting and then pull it out if I need it. Since it is only about the size of a notepad, it's easy to carry around everywhere, to situations I wouldn't want the bother of a laptop bag.

The laptop appears sturdily built for the rigors of road warrior travel. Since February, I've flown more than 50K miles with it, including a 2 week vacation in Japan where we visited 11 cities. It's taken its fair share of bumps and doesn't show it. I originally bought this for my wife but began using it as my own when my company provided Dell E4200 broke in its 3rd week (the monitor backlighting electronics burned out). While the monitor lid is not thicker than other models, it seems to be more resilient because of the smaller surface area.

The Vaio P is visually attractive. When using it in the executive lounge in the airport or on a plane, people will often come up to ask what model it is. The screen quality is amazing, especially when you consider they packed 1600x768 pixels into that tiny screen. You'll need 20-20 vision or better to be able to comfortably read this screen, which will be a deal breaker for lot of people. If you're unsure, try one out in a store before buying. Setting the icons and text to a larger size can help. One of the things that I don't like about the laptop is that it does not have and lower resolutions that are in proportion. For example, the next lower resolutions are 1024x768 and 800x600 which appear distorted since they are out of proportion compared to the native resolution. There are times when I'm in a bumpy car or somewhere else with a lot of motion and use the 800x600, but it would be nice if they had something more proportional like 800x400 or 1024x500.

Love the keyboard and the pointer stick (I can't stand track pads). The right shift key is unusually sized and placed, it drove me nuts for about 2 weeks until I got used to it.

The power adaptor is small. There are no ports for Ethernet and VGA on the laptop, you need to plug in the included dongle for that. The dongle is fairly small and clips on to the power adaptor brick. The only thing I didn't like about the dongle is that it does not have little LEDs on the Ethernet port that show the status of the Ethernet connection. This is a useful features for travelers to know more quickly if the port you plugged into is live or not.

The laptop came with Verizon 3G, which has a nice prepaid option where you can buy service for $9.95 a day, without entering into a contract, which is nice compared to buying WiFi access in hotels, since you can use it anywhere you have coverage for the day. (I didn't find any coverage holes on my trips to southern California, Chicago, Northern Virginia, Baltimore and Miami) However, since most of my travel is outside the US, where the card does not seem to work, this is a mostly useless feature for me and it would have been nice to be able to trade it for something more useful like, GPS.

A few things I didn't like:

The main issue we had with the laptop was poor performance with Windows Vista. As installed, it is unacceptably slow for regular everyday use. We installed the beta of Windows 7 on the laptop and it is working fine. Installing Windows 7 on the laptop is a breeze, the only drivers I downloaded were for the video and the network. I have been running with this laptop as my main computer for the last few weeks (on Windows 7) and the performance is not an issue opening web pages, outlook, powerpoint, excel and word at the same time. Things will start to slow down with too many (e.g., 8 Firefox windows, outlook, 2 powerpoint presentations and 3 excel sheets) closing a few windows will bring back the zippiness. We didn't get the SSD and I wouldn't bother. I keep a fast 32GB SDHC card in the SD bay to increase the storage size since 64GB can be a little limiting.

The battery life is not great with WiFi on, I get less than 2 hours battery life. A little more than 2 hours with the WiFi off. The power adaptor outputs a non-standard voltage: 10.5V, so you will not be able to use it with nearly any universal power supply or universal laptop batteries (like the ADC). Together with the low battery life, this is a serious problem on trips.

A word to the wise, contrary to some misleading information on the Vaio website, this laptop does *not* come with GPS or any navigation software. I was very disappointed about this, as the website intro to this product implies they have it and the sales rep that sold me my laptop over the phone confirmed that the laptop definitely does come with GPS. To the best of my knowledge, none of the P-series laptops Sony is selling in North America come with GPS. We came very close to returning the laptop for this reason alone. Another thing to be wary about the sales rep tried to sell me an Ethernet/VGA dongle when the laptop already comes with one.

The WiFi card does not support 5GHz WiFi N this is disappointing in a brand new premium laptop since this has been available on many laptops since the middle of last year. Also, the laptop does not have an easily found serial number on the bottom. This may sound nitpicky, but it's a problem for those of us that visit buildings that require registering the laptops with a serial number before entering and upon leaving.

In summary, this may sound like a lot of things not to like for someone who loves the laptop, but I wanted to be complete as this laptop is not for everybody. I love the smaller size and that for such a small size it has such a nice keyboard, screen resolution and reasonable performance on Windows 7. More memory, a faster processer and a larger disk would be nice, but I can get by. The bigger problem is the battery life and I'll probably be getting an extended battery in the future to solve that. The Vaio P is also reasonably rugged my last 2 laptops were a Dell E4200 and a Sony TZ-200 both of which developed screen problems and needed repair on my first or second trip with them (and neither suffered any significant abuse). I'd give it 4 stars, but am docking Sony 1 star for being misleading about the GPS.

I have used few other laptops and desktops. But this was my first try with "netbook." This products has a great features, style, and size and that's one of the reason I bought this netbook. There are some pros and cons about this and I'll let you know to help you on purchasing this item.

pros:

1. The Size: size of this product is just amazing. There are few other netbooks came out but this is the smallest. Very handy and portable. I mean who's gonna beat the size of 9.65" x 4.72" x 0.78" and the weight of 1lb 4.8oz? The only thing is, it's not going to fit on your hip pocket, like it advertised. But It will fit on your hand just fine, or for girls, it will fit on your small purse.

2. The resolution: Most of the netbooks came out with the screen resolution of 1028 x 680, but Sony made this 1600 x 768, which provides more comfortable views for users. Although, the 8 inch screen is kindda too small for that resolution, you might feel tired after looking at the screen for long time.

3. The instant booting system: The instant booting system (based on Linux system) takes about 15 seconds to boot up, you can browse websites, watch movies or listen to musics. You can also boot up the computer to windows mode from there. This comes very handy.

Cons:

1. Sony just had to make it with the Vista. The performance goes dramatically down running Vista on this product. You can also downgrade it to XP, which makes VAIO P much faster to perform, but you will find lags watching movies because there's no GMA 500 chip set driver for XP. The best way to use VAIO P is to upgrade its operating system to Windows 7, overall performance was very nice. Although, it might be slower than XP, you can use GMA 500 driver and overall performance is good.

2. VAIO P is using 1.33GHz Z520 Intel Atom Processor. This chip set makes VAIO P not able to perform as fast as other laptops, but for netbooks, it is pretty fast.

3. The price of this is about $1,000 when most of netbook's price is around $500. I don't think VAIO P performs twice as much as other netbooks, but the design of it is more than twice as much as other products.

4. HD (Hard Disk) performance is much lower than SSD (Solid State Disk) performance. I think it'd be much better to choose SSD model if you want to buy this. Bad about it is the capacity. It only holds 60GB for HD, and 64GB for SSD.

Overall, This is a netbook that I personally thought of best. I think this is definitely not for the main computer, but great for sub-computer. It comes very handy and portable, so if you are looking for a sub-computer (or laptop), this is one of the best.

Want Sony VAIO VGN-P530H/W Lifestyle PC (1.33 GHz Intel Processor, 2 GB RAM, 60 GB Hard Drive with G-Sens Discount?

This is such a nicely made laptop. Awesome style, beautiful design..not a bad price considering Sony Vaio's past history. The text is going to be small and it's something you will have to deal with if you want the portability. You can increase the font size but I didn't like how it distorted some of the graphics. Keyboard is decent as well for the size. It does tend to run really hot so I doubt there is any cooling system in this tiny little package. The pointer mouse also takes some getting used to. My biggest gripe is how incredibly slow this thing is. I had the Vaio TX series before this one and it too was impossible to run on Vista. I agree this needs to be downgraded to XP. In my experience I have not had too many pc's that ran well on Vista anyway. As a matter of fact I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate on an Acer Aspire One and that seems to work better than Vista as well. I might try that first before I switch this to XP. I may end up returning this if it continues to be slow. My $300 Acer runs so much better out of the box than this one. Also, like the TX series I purchased before this, it comes with so much crap on it that it takes up 20gb+ of the 60gb hard drive.

My model is US version

Good:

Small size and lightweight.

Lots of RAM.

Usable keyboard for the size.

Small power brick.

Great looking display.

Windows XP performance is great.

The external vga / network connector clips to the power brick when not being used.

Bad:

Installing XP is possible but needs a good amount of operation system and driver installation knowledge, and needs a bootable USB CD/DVD drive.

Only 2 USB ports.

VGA and wired network are on an external connector, which is ok when you take into account the size.

Screen resolution of 1600x600 is too small, try 800x600 or 1024x600.

Pointer stick instead of trackpad, not a problem in my opinion.

Ugly:

Vista, performance is pathetic. Install XP.

XP install of GPS and WAN support is in the early days.

iGadgitz Black 'Guardian' Genuine Napa Leather Case Cover for Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 TF101G

iGadgitz Black 'Guardian' Genuine Napa Leather Case Cover for Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 TF101G 10.1' 3.0 Android Tablet
  • Hand stitched designer leather case with unique style
  • Customised design to fit the Asus Transformer with cut-outs for ports, cameras, sensors and buttons
  • Camera lens protection strap
  • 3 position viewing stand smartly designed to integrate into the case
  • Magnet free cover design means all compass related navigation features will still work accurately!

I just got this case and was disappointed in the quality. It has two small spots/holes in case that are defects in manufacturing that will no doubt continue to get larger. I was quite frankly stunned to see this as having spent $40.00, I expected this to be a premium case. Not the case (no pun intended). I initially purchased the Blurex case for my Transformer and while that case is a good case, I wanted something a bit nicer with premium quality leather. Sadly, this case isn't it. I'm not sure if it's Napa leather as it has more of a strong chemical smell then it does real leather. Note that I spend good money to buy the best in leather products (Google "Saddleback Leather" and take a look at what real quality leather products look like). Unfortunately, Saddleback doesn't make a case for the Transformer as I would easily spend twice what I paid for this case to get something that is top notch quality.

OmniSky Minstrel V Wireless Modem for Palm Vx

OmniSky Minstrel V Wireless Modem for Palm Vx
  • Add wireless connectivity to your Palm handheld
  • Send and receive e-mail, access the Internet, and send faxes
  • Content from almost 1,000 sites optimized for the Palm handheld
  • Requires monthly service plan--unlimited usage plans as low as $29.99 a month (with prepaid annual plan)
  • Compatible with Palm V series handhelds

This is a great complement to your Palm Vx. I don't recommend getting this with a Palm V it consumes a full megabyte of memory on your Palm, and if you have any other big applications, you'll run out of room quickly. (On my old Palm V, AvantGo took up 400k by itself, and my contacts and calendar were another 150k or so each... meaning that I had very little room for any additional data like e-mail from my OmniSky device.)

With that in mind, you'll find that this makes your Palm Vx a true road warrior tool. The sheer convenience of checking your e-mail from the back of a cab, getting flight updates, searching phone books, or getting realtime driving directions makes the Palm Vx a tremendously useful PDA.

One reason I prefer the Palm V/OmniSky combination to the Palm VII is that OmniSky operates more like a true ISP, where the Palm VII requires you to use palm.net as the connectivity provider. With OmniSky you get more control over what you do with your connection. Also, it's nice to be able to remove the modem when you're not using it and return to the small, sleek Palm V.

The battery life is a concern. If you're traveling often, you'll want to bring the charger with you you won't get much more than a day of casual use out of it without requiring a recharge.

The recent upgrade to OmniSky 2.0 makes e-mail download a lot faster (I check my corporate account in addition to my personal account without any trouble), and their e-mail client gives you great control through the use of filters. If you're already comfortable with Grafitti (the Palm handwriting "shorthand" for text entry), you'll find composing quick e-mails to be simple. Otherwise, you'll want to invest in the collapsable keyboard.

I've found that each of the .pqa (the Palm "clipping" applications that were originally designed for the Palm VII) applets work perfectly on my Palm V with the OmniSky modem. Check out http://www.handango.com/ for a list of useful PQAs.

If you're already a Palm loyalist and you are away from a computer for long stretches, you'll find that the OmniSky modem is truly a great extension of your existing PDA. I left the fifth star off because of the battery performance and the memory consumption... but for those two issues, this would be a no-brainer for 5 stars.

Buy OmniSky Minstrel V Wireless Modem for Palm Vx Now

I recently got the Omnisky modem for my Palm V. It allows you to access all sorts of content wirelessly that Omnisky has collected from a whole slew of content partners. Some other non-Omnisky apps also support live wireless access to content or at least wireless synchronization (e. g., Avantgo) once you have a wireless modem.

This includes lots of standard stuff like news, weather, stock quotes, Yellow Pages, search engines & directories etcetc.

The offer for online shopping and esp. travel booking is still WEAK. Amazon eg doesnt support the Palm, and the only travel site supporting wireless (that i found) is Travelocity (and there you have to register thru a PC BEFORE using it thru the Palm -sucks if you're stuck at an airport and want to book an alternative flight as I once did).

So far, the content/apps providers just had enought fantasy to transfer to the Palm what exists on the web anyway. But where are the new apps that make REAL use of wireless? Where is the app, say, that tells me which public transport to use from point A to B when I want to arrive at a specific time? (Saw that in Germany on the web and it ROCKS).

All the content that you get through Omnisky or other apps on the Palm has been reformatted so that it will fit the tiny Palm display. Technically, it is also possible to access any web page -but if they haven't been reformatted or have a REAL simple layout to start with, don't even bother. It is a) slow and b) you'll have a hard time deciphering anything at all.

Omnisky also supports receiving and sending email from any standard POP3 mail server. Cool!

The wireless coverage (ie, where you can connect) is still pretty spotty. You'll be fine in most metropolitan centers, but other than that, you'll have a hard time to connect.

The transfer rate is OK for email and reformatted web pages, however, dont expect a speed rush.

The price of the modem was pretty low (after a special discount they offered at year end '00), however, they want a monthly fee of $50 -and that's PRETTY hefty for what it does.

The bottom-line: Cool & great for early adopters who don't mind playing the tech mine-dog and being punished for it (money-wise). However, this is no consumer-product yet.

I have been using a Palm Device since the old Personal Palm unit. Althought I loved my Personal Palm I didn't utilize it as much as I would have liked. There are only so many address, to do, and calendar entries once person can have. If I was going to upgrade my Palm I wanted it to have more funtionality.

With this is mind I decided on the Palm Vx and the Omnisky Wirless. Once received I went ahead with the setup of my account/modem and found it to be very straight forward with no issues. I setup my outisde POP3 email account with no problems.

The performance of the wireless modem is very good, download times are pretty quick. The content of the service is good with plenty of news, weather, sports, and other usefull information. Web site viewing is best with Omnisky content partners. I have not had much luck going out to other web sites but I wasn't expecting a lot in that catergory.

Overall I think this is a great wireless unit and service plan....

Want OmniSky Minstrel V Wireless Modem for Palm Vx Discount?

This product is a great leap forward into the next realm of wireless connectivity. If you are considering on buying the Palm VII, don't. The Omnisky unit give you a lot more content to make you web browsing more enriched. It's speeds are definitely more reliable than than a standard at home 56K modem speed. If you're and avid user of eBay, are constantly guarding your stocks, or just don't have time to check you e-mail at your office then this product is perfect. The only drawback is that you will only get a strong connection areas surrounding major cities since the company is still in its initial stages. You will not be let down if you purchase this.

Save 98% Off

This is a definite must-have for the mobile professional. The Minstrel V is slim and compliments the Palm Vx quite nicely. One of the features I like the best about the Minstrel is it allows you to specify up to six different POP3 email accounts to be downloaded to your PDA. In addition to downloading the messages it leaves a copy of them on the mail server so you are able to download them to your regular PC be it at home, work, or both. With this feature, I am able to check on my personal as well as my work email, downloaded to different folders to aid in organization. This feature combined with the mail alert system saves quite a bit of time compared with the time it takes to remove your laptop and connect with two or more servers, sometimes under very slow RAS connections.

The activation of the modem and installation of the software was straightforward and easy to complete even though it does take awhile. A minor issue that presented itself was the software did not add the additional mail account folders onto my Palm Vx; I went through and completed that manually. In addition, after the installation was completed I had to close the extra windows that were opened during installation.

The power management capabilities are also a plus for the Minstrel V. Not only does it have an auto-shutoff but also a sleep mode, similar to cellular phones. Unlike the Palm Vx, you are not able to set the interval for sleep or auto-shutoff; it is either disabled or enabled. However, the modem immediately powers up if a wireless connection is needed. Combine the power management functions with the short charge time, about 3 hours for about 12 hours of use; you will be able to continue to work while away from the office or hotel.

Should you decide to purchase the Minstrel V, you will not be disappointed. If you were to combine the looks with the functionality, you will wonder how you ever worked with your PDA without it.

When you unplug your phone after several hours of use beyond what you would normally have gotten without the extender, the charge level will be close to or at the same level as when you plugged it in. It will not be at a higher charge leve.

Buy Portable Emergency AA Battery Charge Extender for the Motorola DROID - uses Gomadic TipExchange Tech Now

Wonderful seller. Never had a more positive buying experience in my life! I bought an Emergency Battery Extender for the Amazon Kindle 1. The very next day, my Kindle broke (got stepped on). I immediately went to Amazon's website and bought the latest Kindle 3.

So here I was, with a $20.00 (+s&h!) Gomadic Charger in the mail for a Kindle 1 that no longer existed, and an incompatible (charging adapter wise) Kindle 3 on its way!

I immediately emailed Gomadic Customer Support, explaining the problem and asking how it can be remedied, because otherwise I'd reluctantly have to return the product (they have unconditional 30-day return policy).

To my agreeable surprise, they answered my email within a couple of hours of my sending it to them, and informed me they were sorry to hear of my broken Kindle, and that they had already mailed me the appropriate adapter so I could charge my new Kindle 3, all free of charge.

If that ain't the Rolls-Royce of customer support, I don't know what is.

IRISCAN BOOK 2 (COMPUTER ACCESSORIES)

IRISCAN BOOK 2There isn't anyway to contact a support group. I tried, received a number and no one ever responded to my questions. Am not able to remove scanned items from memory card. Somewhat complicated to use. I'm going to return it.

I love having a portable scanner. I never have to wait in line at the library copier anymore. And it's perfect for organizing and sharing all the papers that the school sends home with the kids. I wish they would make that available online.

This is awesome.

Very good product to help you scan in those old photo's.

I've decided to put all my photo's on disk/usb in order to preserve them.

This scanner is quick, very easy to use, and perfect for the job I need it for.

Cross Shape Screws for Iphone 4
  • Screws for iphone 4,4S
  • 2pcs included

I needed these screws for my iPhone 4 after losing one of these minuscule objects while replacing a cracked rear screen. I still have one original screw, and cannot see any difference at all between it and this replacement. Therefore, it is exactly what I was looking for.

I bought these screws because I lost the two that came with my iPhone 4 during disassembly. These screws worked, but one sheared while tightening. Also, the threads are not cut precisely, and the did not turn as freely as the OEM screws would.

Also, the metal that they are made from is of poor quality and is very brittle, so don't tighten them too much. They do get the job done, but try to find a higher quality screw if you can afford the extra dollar.

works great looks just like origional they came quick and fit where they are supposed to fit can't think of five other words

The screws get stripped really easy and it doesn't fit that good like only one goes in.i don't recommend you buy this unless your housing is really loose
