This case looks very good, feels good in your hand. Two small things stop me from giving it 5 stars. The first has faded with time, and that is the smell. I understand the case is leather, and freshly tanned leather has a certain odor. But SHEESH. . . When you take this case out of the plastic bag it comes in, the smell is very strong, and gets directly in your face. After a month of use, it is now faded to the point where I don't smell my Ipad before I see it. The first week or so I had it, more than 1 person walked into my office and asked "what is that smell", and it wasn't because I ate mexican for lunch (I'm pretty sure). My other small beef is that the case doesn't fit real tight around the I pad. Good for ease of putting on, taking off, not so good for access to screen and home button. The piece which covers the front of the pad to hold it in the case moves a little (or the Ipad moves in the case). Doesn't sound like a big deal, but because the case is leather, it's thick, and moving 1/8 of an inch can make the home button a little hard to press, as well as touching anything on the far left edge of the screen.

Overall, I like the case, and would buy it again. But they could air the bad boys out a while before they bag'em up, and I wish the bezel cover stayed a little tighter in place

The iPad cover is very functional. I stays together well and is very easy to use. I like to watch tv on my iPad in bed, and the stand works well for that. I am worried about the longevity of the magnet and the leather, however for now it is great.

I mainly got this for my 4 year old son so he can watch movies on his iPad. The kickstand is made out of cardboard and bends really quick very poorly made would not recommend this case if your looking to use the kick stand.

Protects your iPad, but it's not very functional. When you want to use it on a table, it only reclines at a certain angle. It almost sits at a 90 degree angle.

I like that this is compact & easy to keep with the computer. I really like that the cleaning solution goes inside so you don't lose it. It would be nice if they had refill bottles to refill the little thing with but I have yet to find something. If any one else knows where to find refills please leave me a comment & let me know! & ALWAYS make sure whatever you;re cleaning is off just so nothing happens. I will make this short and sweet. I have bought 3 of these things. The first one didn't work. I returned it after being on the phone with the Amped Wireless people, and my internet service provider (Surewest Broadband), and having a service technician come out and look at it. They all guessed that the unit was faulty/bad, so I returned it and ordered a replacement. The second one worked (go figure). I recently ordered a third one, because I wanted to add an access point to another room. The reason I wanted THESE particular wireless repeaters, is because they ALSO have Ethernet ports. That allows older devices (like 1st and 2nd generation blu-ray players) that are capable of going online only with a wired connection, to still work.

The 3rd one didn't work either, and, as an added bonus -it knocked my 2nd one (which had been working up to that point) offline, and I couldn't get it back online after that (must have been a fluke that I got it connected at all in the first place). The symptoms for the units not working are their inability to STAY connected to the network. They will connect, and then disconnect, over and over again. After the 3rd one KO'd the 2nd one, I called Amped and tried to get help. I left a message because it was after hours. Days later, I was tired of waiting for them to call me back, so I called my ISP. We tried *EVERYTHING* to get them working (three cheers for Surewest, by the way, their 24x7 tech support was AWESOME helping me work through this). After messing with what channel the router was on, and various other settings, we final stumbled across the fact that the security mode the router was set on, affected whether or not the Amped Wireless Repeater could connect or not. The repeater was able to connect, and stay connected, in WEP mode, and also WPA-mixed mode (but not the most current WPA2 mode).

Now that we have monkeyed with literally all of the settings, and rebooted everything and got them all to connect, I am happy. But -it was a *GIANT* hassle. I work with technology for a living, so I was fairly comfortable messing with these things. Additionally, my ISP locks me out of my router, and only they can mess with it remotely -which can be irritating, but also means a professional is changing the settings. I cannot even imagine how a non-technically inclined person would handle buying the repeater, and having their home network set on WPA2, and not being able to connect the repeater to the network. They certainly wouldn't know how to log into their router and change security level settings. I imagine, that, like me, they would send it back as broken. Amped, when I talked to them, never mentioned the security settings on the router. The only thing they wanted to try was port forwarding, which, when we did do so with the ISP, didn't solve the issue.

So, there you have it. When the device works, it is pretty awesome. But getting it to the point where it is working can be a chore. If yours works right out of the box with your network, then bump my review up to 4 stars. Otherwise, the 3 star rating stands.

While upgrading my home theater receiver I knew I had to finally bring a strong Internet connection into my media room, but pulling wire was going to be way too much hassle, so I went looking for a reliable wireless n bridge router. After researching a number of products from brands I was familiar with, I came across the Amped Wireless AV3000. I'd never heard of the company before, but the reviews were as strong (stronger) as any I'd read and the price was very reasonable, so I bought one. I'm so glad I did--it rocks! Set-up was easy, save for needing to access the unit by the IP address as the URL didn't work for me. This must be fairly common as it is clearly explained in the set up instructions. Once past that, setup was a breeze and I was up and running in no time. I now have my new receiver (Marantz SR7005--totally awesome!!!), my Oppo Blu-Ray and my Tivo HD all wired to the AV3000 and everything works great. In the past when streaming Netflicks through Tivo using the Tivo wireless g connection we had to suffer through numerous pauses during the first fifteen minutes or so as the movie downloaded, even at a less than ideal resolution. With the AV3000, even the highest res streaming flies without a hitch. Sweet. I highly recommend this bridge to anyone looking for a reasonable cost, effective solution to getting wired connections in locations that are hard to pull wire to. You won't regret it.

Not only does this function as an access point to my home wifi (my wireless adapter card kept constantly dropping connection), this will increase range to your home network by at least 70 feet. In my room (where the av connect is) i used to get3 bars, now i have full 5 bars of signal.

#1 reason why you should get this, Because I am using it mainly to connect my desktop, the ethernet connection made it i do not have to install any drivers or anything else, just plug in the ethernet cable and youre good to go! its as simple as that, upon first use, you set up the name, and whether or not to use the av connect as a wireless repeater.

You can use any basic cat5 or cat 6 cable because maximum speed for wireless N right now is 300mbps so a 1gbps cable is not needed.

Even though my router rarely has any problems, its nice to know that amped wireless will "self heal" the connection, meaning it will constantly try to reconnect if connection is ever dropped.

Keep note, it is much smaller than i expected it to be, probably half the size of a normal router, but it packs a punch!it can be mounted on a wall or has a stand so it can be vertical.

the 2 antannaes can be replaced with more powerful ones, but the until itself should already suffice, as the av connect amplifies its signals with a 100mw low noise amp i believe, ( i might be wrong on the exact wattage).

You can control how big of a wireless field the unit emits from max to none at all which is nice if you have a small house or if you dont want the feeling of 100% wifi signal pulsing through your body.

Ive had this for 2 weeks now and i love it, literally 0 issues whatsoever. sure its 100 bucks but id rather spend it knowing i dont have to worry about my internet connection again rather than having to frustrate over a crappy $50 that keeps dropping the connection in the middle of netflix.

Edit: I did receive a replacement unit and my problem was fixed. There are still several buggy things within the firmware and I wouldn't recommend this product.

This device does not do what it is marketed to do. With the latest firmware I am unable to stay connected to my access point for more than a day. (This was corrected by forcing my Wireless Router to a static channel, instead of the auto function).

This device also drops it's configuration on a regular basis. I then have to connect a laptop via Ethernet and re-configure the device again. This is very inconvenient since I don't normally have a PC connected to it, only AV equipment.

Their use of DNS forwarding in their interface is a horrible idea. Overall their web interface is pretty bad. I've worked on enterprise level networking gear for eleven years. Take my advice, small home and business users; stay far away from this product.

To my own discredit I misunderstood something about the product. This doesn't play into my review score but it should be helpful for others. The Amped Wireless makes the claim that the AV3000 can also act as a wireless repeater of sorts. For a proper repeater to work it would need two separate wireless cards. This device does not. It is using an embedded linux and just creates a software based AP which then routes you via the same wireless modem to your access point (which is providing internet access). The problem with this is that you now have two APs on the same channel in the same close proximity. If you know anything about wireless you know that you should have your APs on dissimilar channels. Because they wanted a good list of features without the added hardware cost you suffer. The latest firmware does offer the ability to disable this soft AP but it doesn't work.

Overall, I was disappointed by this product. I bought it to connect my home theater devices to the internet and to extend the range of my wifi network. It wasn't hard to set up although it was a little awkward to connect to a computer by lan. But the wireless connection to the router dropped numerous times over a period of five days (at least once per day), causing me to do a hard reset disconnect the power each time. I read other reviews which said that this kind of problem was caused by the security setting of WAP2 not managed well by the AV3000, so I reset my router to WAP only; didn't seem to make a difference.

I replaced with a Linksys WN2500RP which was a little cheaper and easier to set up; no dropped connections.

The pen itself is great! Writes and feels good. I like the look of it, looks like a Cross pen. The stylus can be ambiguous at times, but it also isn't a fine tip. Great for general use on iPad, ok on writing on iPad.

This is a great complement to your Palm Vx. I don't recommend getting this with a Palm V it consumes a full megabyte of memory on your Palm, and if you have any other big applications, you'll run out of room quickly. (On my old Palm V, AvantGo took up 400k by itself, and my contacts and calendar were another 150k or so each... meaning that I had very little room for any additional data like e-mail from my OmniSky device.)

With that in mind, you'll find that this makes your Palm Vx a true road warrior tool. The sheer convenience of checking your e-mail from the back of a cab, getting flight updates, searching phone books, or getting realtime driving directions makes the Palm Vx a tremendously useful PDA.

One reason I prefer the Palm V/OmniSky combination to the Palm VII is that OmniSky operates more like a true ISP, where the Palm VII requires you to use palm.net as the connectivity provider. With OmniSky you get more control over what you do with your connection. Also, it's nice to be able to remove the modem when you're not using it and return to the small, sleek Palm V.

The battery life is a concern. If you're traveling often, you'll want to bring the charger with you you won't get much more than a day of casual use out of it without requiring a recharge.

The recent upgrade to OmniSky 2.0 makes e-mail download a lot faster (I check my corporate account in addition to my personal account without any trouble), and their e-mail client gives you great control through the use of filters. If you're already comfortable with Grafitti (the Palm handwriting "shorthand" for text entry), you'll find composing quick e-mails to be simple. Otherwise, you'll want to invest in the collapsable keyboard.

I've found that each of the .pqa (the Palm "clipping" applications that were originally designed for the Palm VII) applets work perfectly on my Palm V with the OmniSky modem. Check out http://www.handango.com/ for a list of useful PQAs.

If you're already a Palm loyalist and you are away from a computer for long stretches, you'll find that the OmniSky modem is truly a great extension of your existing PDA. I recently got the Omnisky modem for my Palm V. It allows you to access all sorts of content wirelessly that Omnisky has collected from a whole slew of content partners. Some other non-Omnisky apps also support live wireless access to content or at least wireless synchronization (e. g., Avantgo) once you have a wireless modem.

This includes lots of standard stuff like news, weather, stock quotes, Yellow Pages, search engines & directories etcetc.

The offer for online shopping and esp. travel booking is still WEAK. Amazon eg doesnt support the Palm, and the only travel site supporting wireless (that i found) is Travelocity (and there you have to register thru a PC BEFORE using it thru the Palm -sucks if you're stuck at an airport and want to book an alternative flight as I once did).

So far, the content/apps providers just had enought fantasy to transfer to the Palm what exists on the web anyway. But where are the new apps that make REAL use of wireless? Where is the app, say, that tells me which public transport to use from point A to B when I want to arrive at a specific time? (Saw that in Germany on the web and it ROCKS).

All the content that you get through Omnisky or other apps on the Palm has been reformatted so that it will fit the tiny Palm display. Technically, it is also possible to access any web page -but if they haven't been reformatted or have a REAL simple layout to start with, don't even bother. It is a) slow and b) you'll have a hard time deciphering anything at all.

Omnisky also supports receiving and sending email from any standard POP3 mail server. Cool!

The wireless coverage (ie, where you can connect) is still pretty spotty. You'll be fine in most metropolitan centers, but other than that, you'll have a hard time to connect.

The transfer rate is OK for email and reformatted web pages, however, dont expect a speed rush.

The price of the modem was pretty low (after a special discount they offered at year end '00), however, they want a monthly fee of $50 -and that's PRETTY hefty for what it does.

The bottom-line: Cool & great for early adopters who don't mind playing the tech mine-dog and being punished for it (money-wise). However, this is no consumer-product yet.

I have been using a Palm Device since the old Personal Palm unit. Althought I loved my Personal Palm I didn't utilize it as much as I would have liked. There are only so many address, to do, and calendar entries once person can have. If I was going to upgrade my Palm I wanted it to have more funtionality.

With this is mind I decided on the Palm Vx and the Omnisky Wirless. Once received I went ahead with the setup of my account/modem and found it to be very straight forward with no issues. I setup my outisde POP3 email account with no problems.

The performance of the wireless modem is very good, download times are pretty quick. The content of the service is good with plenty of news, weather, sports, and other usefull information. Web site viewing is best with Omnisky content partners. I have not had much luck going out to other web sites but I wasn't expecting a lot in that catergory.

Overall I think this is a great wireless unit and service plan....

This is a definite must-have for the mobile professional. The Minstrel V is slim and compliments the Palm Vx quite nicely. One of the features I like the best about the Minstrel is it allows you to specify up to six different POP3 email accounts to be downloaded to your PDA. In addition to downloading the messages it leaves a copy of them on the mail server so you are able to download them to your regular PC be it at home, work, or both. With this feature, I am able to check on my personal as well as my work email, downloaded to different folders to aid in organization. This feature combined with the mail alert system saves quite a bit of time compared with the time it takes to remove your laptop and connect with two or more servers, sometimes under very slow RAS connections.

The activation of the modem and installation of the software was straightforward and easy to complete even though it does take awhile. A minor issue that presented itself was the software did not add the additional mail account folders onto my Palm Vx; I went through and completed that manually. In addition, after the installation was completed I had to close the extra windows that were opened during installation.

The power management capabilities are also a plus for the Minstrel V. Not only does it have an auto-shutoff but also a sleep mode, similar to cellular phones. Unlike the Palm Vx, you are not able to set the interval for sleep or auto-shutoff; it is either disabled or enabled. However, the modem immediately powers up if a wireless connection is needed. Combine the power management functions with the short charge time, about 3 hours for about 12 hours of use; you will be able to continue to work while away from the office or hotel.

Should you decide to purchase the Minstrel V, you will not be disappointed. If you were to combine the looks with the functionality, you will wonder how you ever worked with your PDA without it.

I don't consider myself an audiophile or anything, but I do know that I plugged these speakers in and tried them out for the first time with Godsmack, and they performed exceptionally well. The bass was solid and the sound had no perceptible distortion, and I was rock'n out as much as I would in my car. From across the room, the girlfriend said, "Wow, those sound really good!". I'm sure there are other great units out there for hundreds of dollars, but for 27 bucks you can't go wrong for a booming sub-woofer and marvelous little mini speakers that belt out the sound. The little controller is pretty sweet too, as it adds to the coolness factor with it's little white LED, and I hate trying to turn speakers on and off from the speaker. The little controller sits right by my keyboard, ready to control power and volume. If you're dealing with the speakers your computer came with, and you find yourself feeling shortchanged on real sound, get these.

I bought this set about three days ago and using them with a acer netbook. I think the bass is punchy and strong but not too much. the treble is a little weak but I think its just not overpowering like other speakers I'm used to. The high end is not sparkling but pleasant and warm. They get very loud and stay strong to the upper volume levels. The price is a little high for what you get. Oh, the gloss black on the satellites suck a lot of dust out of the air and all over the speakers! I like them because they do not take up a lot of space and they look great!

I've had these speakers a little over 6 months now and didn't want to jump to writing a review without having enough time to really see how they worked.

Out of the box, they were find and everything worked well for me. The sound was good, not great, but enough for what I needed. I like to watch videos, play games, listen to music, but I'm in no way an audiophile. The subwoofer has a very small footprint and can easily fit on a desk and the speakers themselves are very short and take up very little room. I have my sub on the ground, and my speakers under my monitor. My monitor is an Acer 23" LED on the same level as the speakers, so I was glad to see that the speakers fit underneath without obstructing any of the screen.

The volume control is a separate cable which is both good and bad. It adds more time and effort to the setup, but it puts control of the volume wherever you want it without actually having to move or reach for the speakers. The plastic of the volume control isn't the best, but you aren't paying very much for these speakers anyways, so it's still a pretty good value. I am pleased with the construction and looks with the speakers overall, but where it falls short is after extended use.

Recently, my speakers have been giving me a slight buzzing sound at 25% and above volumes. Regardless of what I have my computer volume set at, if the dial on the volume control is at the 25% mark or higher, there is a constant buzzing even with the computer off. Even more recently, every once in a while, that buzzing would be there even under the 25% mark. For what I paid, I don't expect all that much, but ti's sad to see this happen.

I usually don't play any audio very loudly, so I don't think it would be an issue of usage, but the paper part of the speakers are exposed, so you will need to be careful about how you treat them. I turn my speakers off when I don't need them to minimize the amount of buzzing I hear, but I would imagine for most people, this is too much of a hassle to deal with.

It does the job. I'm just tired of buying blue teeth and losing them...so I'm not buying them anymore unless they're waterproof and surgically implanted....I have yet to find one that is comfortable all the time. But as far as the adapter EXCELLENT !

I have spent the last four hours trying to get this keyboard to work with my hx4705 running PocketPC 2003SE. I've used the drivers that came on the disk, and also downloaded three different sets of drivers. Nothing works. VERY, very frustrated.

Mine works great. I have transferred thousands of photos to my PC without a hitch. It is so small it sits on top of my monitor and is known to my system as device G. All the folks that have reported problems with installation undoubtedly had those problems. I didn't. And I have a Zip drive, a CD/RW drive and 4 devices total hooked up to my USB ports, including a printer and DSL modem. Before this mess would work on my 2 year old Dell, I had to download new BIOS for the machine. Anytime you add stuff to a PC, there may be conflicts that need resolving. But I don't believe this SmartMedia card reader is the total cause of anybody's problems.

I installed the San Disk Smart Media Reader USB version (they call it the ImageMate) on my computer with Win98. Installation was a snap by following the instructions, and I was uploading pictures from my 32meg smartmedia card in less than 5 min.

The directory acts just like another removable-disk drive (assigned F: on my computer) and is labeled USB when viewed after clicking on My Computer icon.

It sure beats uploading from the camera.

I have 2 of these SanDisk USB readers (they will read only 1 type of memory card, so if you have devices with CompactFlash, MultiMediaCard memory, SmartMedia, etc., you'll need 1 reader per format). They can be difficult to set-up, as the software (in both cases) required an update from their website (nice site, user-friendly) and, more importantly, there are known conflicts with other device drivers you may have on your computer (such as CD-RW drives and Zip drives). While these conflicts are mentioned on the SanDisk website, the solutions they offered were not always helpful. Once solved, this device is great. I have since purchased the Viking reader and have encountered no conflicts at all.

I finally ordered the SmartMedia ImageMate, even after reading some pretty horrific reviews (and some very good ones). The SanDisk web page says to check the CDW EasyCreate, and mine was OK (3.5c, "c" makes it OK). Received the reader, installed the software, plugged it in to an empty USB port, stuck in a half-full SmartCard from my Olympus 360L camera, clicked on the "G" drive, and there it was all of it! Downloaded 40 images in 15-20 seconds (not 20-30 minutes!), played around with uploads, deletes, any old files (not only images) WORKS LIKE MAGIC! (**FAST** magic...) I have Windows 98, Pentium III at 733 MHz, a Costco USB splitter, 3 or 4 other USB devices, shut down & restart each day,and the system still crashes once a day or so. Pretty standard setup, I think. I own a Canon Digital Elph camera that uses CF cards. I purchased this reader so that I wouldn't have to hook up my camera to the computer (and run down the batteries) each time I wanted to download photos.

The drivers installed easily, and I haven't had a single problem with it. I suspect that the other guy just has some weird software incompatibility issue that could happen with any device or software.

Let me start by explaining that I have owned an Ipaq3760 for a few years now and decided to "upgrade" to a newer model but also get something smaller to carry around. After my purchase I was told by a HP sales representative that this is really not really an upgrade and now I agree. If this was someone first purchase of an Ipaq or any PDA then they might not have the same complaints that I have.

The positives first, the size is great, this is a shirt pocket PDA and I am very pleased with the reduction in size from the 3760. The screen is bright and very easy to read. There is no wasted space on the front of the system at all. The function and navigation buttons work well. The stylus' size is perfect and fits very nicely into the unit. Finally, I love the removable battery.

Now the problems;

1. There is no docking cradle available for this model yet. You got to be kidding me. How can you release a product like this that targets small businesses and not have something like that ready! This means my Ipaq lies on my desk instead of being in a position that I can quickly glance at my appointment or see what time it is. I was told by HP that the cradle for the other similar model (H1910) will not work.

2. The USB cable used to synchronize my H1935 with my desktop does not charge the unit. This was not true for the older model Ipaqs. Why would you want to remove functionally like that? You have to plug the wall adapter into the USB cable. This is very messy on the desktop.

3. Why does each model have a different charging/communication port? This means all new cables for serial, cellular phone, car charger connections. Again not problem if you don't already have all these items.

4. Why, why, why couldn't HP have installed a normal audio jack?!? They use a smaller jack. Maybe this is for some future standard, but I not aware of one. You have to keep this 2 inch mini-cable with you to plug into headphones or speakers.

5. Last complaint, everyone that I know that has a PDA and wants to "beam" something to another PDA, points the top of their PDA to the top of the other. This new 1935 has the IR port on the side. Is this a new standard? Maybe I need to look other new PDAs to see how their IR ports are positioned. It just seems odd to me.

That's my experience with this new Ipaq. I really do like this new model and I'm going to keep it despite some of the aggravating quirks it has and lack of accessories. I will get use to quirks and wait for the docking cradle. I use my PDA for contacts and keeping track of my appointments, but also use it with my cell phone for e-mail and monitoring the company's network. I was looking for something that is easier to carry around and this works perfect for that.

I've had the chance to try out HP's attempt at a consumer-friendly Pocket PC, and they have a winner. Nearly as small and just as light as a Palm V, HP has packed a top-notch screen and almost all of the functionality you could possibly want into a handsome 4 oz. piece of electronics.

Some thoughts:

* The battery doesn't last as long as Palm's, and you'll probably want to charge it at least every other day, every day if you use it extensively. You can get an extra battery, since the HP's is removable -a real advantage in the long run, since you won't have to send the unit in for servicing a la the Palm and most other PDA models.

* You want MP3s, you got 'em. Add a 256MB SD card, and you're off and running. The unit does contain an annoying headphone adapter jack, but such are the tradeoffs of small size PDAs (Palm has a similar issue on the similarly priced Tungsten E.) It's not an iPod, but it'll do.

* You can also display small videos and pics, of course, but who really needs/wants to do this on a regular basis? I suppose if you are one of those annoying people who want to show everybody your latest baby photos, this will be just the ticket.

* There is no wireless functionality out of the box. You can add it later, but if you really are looking for Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, you probably want a PDA with those features built in. That'll cost you, of course.

* Is there such a thing as too small? The buttons on this Pocket PC take a bit getting used to compared to the large and in charge buttons on the older, bloated iPaqs of yesteryear.

* Why so chintzy on the warranty? 90 days?! Take it from me, PDAs break. Their screens can crack, units freeze up, buttons stick -basically, bad stuff happens. Seems like HP is trying to force folks to upgrade to the extended warranty. That is unacceptable support from one of the world's largest companies, and costs this otherwise excellent unit a star. (Palm offers 1 year, and I personally had near-instant turnaround on a Palm Vx repair)...

I recently decided to upgrade from a Jornada 680 HPC (very old version of WinCE) because mine is breaking down and HP no longer supports this old platform (although I love the form factor with keyboard). Anyway, I decided to go for the H1935 but after few days switched to the Toshiba e355. I thought it would be useful to note down a brief comparison to help others who are considering the two. I really liked the iPAQ but the Toshiba has a number of things that are better for me:

* Power cable is like a laptop's (bad for domestic but good for international travel as you only need to purchase the power end of the country visiting and it will work)

* No external battery

* Side scroll button is very handy

* Central toggle button much easier to use

* Home button has a feature not in iPAQ which accesses 4 tabs on screen for easy organization of apps. One tab lists running apps so you can easily close down running applications (in Pocket PCs the x only minimizes programs they are still running in the background taking up memory. Programs tab includes app backup that backs up to SD

* Uses regular headphone socket size

* Faster processor

* 1 year warranty

* Cheaper

After receiving a promotion that vastly increased the scope of my duties, I decided to purchase a handheld to help me keep everything straight. Good decision. As I researched the choices, it became obvious that people are passionate about their handhelds. Reviews of Palm's, Sony's, and others swayed me one way then the other. My advice is read the reviews then go to a store with working devices where you can check them out personally. The Palm's and Sony's bored me but the HP's (Compaq) got me excited.

My final choice was the HP 1935 and I couldn't be happier. It has a brilliant clear color display contained in a small size with all the features I need. There are more full featured devices out there, but only at a much higher price. This one has all that I need and saves me from paying considerably more for features I don't need (Bluetooth, etc.) Some reviewers have knocked this unit for not coming with a cradle or carrying case, but this keeps the initial cost down and allows one to select a "personalized" case rather than be stuck with the one provided. As such, for me this "ommission" is a advantage not a disadvantage.

This unit is designed to meet a price point and it does so beautifully. I thank HP for offering such a wonderfull device at an attractive price. I like it so much that I bought another one for my wife. I highly recommend this unit!

I purchased the 1935 after having used NEC Hpcs, and and older ipaq 3800 series. personally I have no use for the add-on sleeves for the larger ipaqs, and I did want smaller size. I use this device for contacts, callendar, map program (MS pocket streets & trips) bible software and more. Reviews saying there are few accesories and cases have not looked around enough, I found 9 different cases for this model (search under ipaq 1910 to increase results) before settling on a vaja leather case that I love. needs an SD card if you plan on storing large amounts of maps, music etc. If you have never used windows pocket pc OS before, you will find that it is anoying to close or switch between tasks, I recommend downloading a task manager called magic button (free) from www.trancreative.com to make task management work much like regular windows. I love the bright screen, the small size and for a 203mz processor I find it to be very fast, although I do not play games or videos.

Cons: I would have liked a case and cradle and all of the things that other reviewers said, but for the price I can't complain and I prefer to customize those things anyway.

I have had My Axim for a couple of months now and I have put it through its marks. I comes out on top in everything. Dell has thought of it all when it comes to this very handsome PocketPc. I was very impressed when I turned it on and went to the internet and it set its self up for my wifi network. I thought that was going to me a nightmare and it turned out to be a dream. It works like a dream on the internet too. I can use it anyplace and that makes it easy to keep up on my email.

It keeps my life in order with all the software that comes with it and there is so much to add if you need to. The free stuff is endless on the web.

It plays and stores my MP3s like the best MP3 player. I can watch the latest movies on it while waiting to see the doctor or play great games to keep my mind busy while waiting for that doctor who seems to be takeing forever, but I don't mind I have my Axim X30.

I can never find a piece of paper while out to take down an address or a note about something I don't want to forget and my Axim does that too. It takes notes and saves them with ease. Don't feel like writing? Well just press a button and speak your notes or anything else. You won't need one of those little tape recorders ever again. Throw away your Day Runner. You won't need it ever again. This stores all that and more.

I just can't list everything it can do because I would be writing forever but with software there isn't much it can't do. On the lighter side you can even use it for a flashlight or a mirror to check your lipstick!!

I have had many Palms and PocketPcs and I have liked them all but none can come close to this one. It's by far one of the very BEST there is out there. Its super fast too. You can add tons of memory with SD memory cards and they are so small.

I really could fill up allot more pages just listing the things this little package can do but I think you get the picture. They say that "Big things come in little packages". I think they wrote that just for the Dell Axim X30

I loved my Axim X-30 high. Didn't know how I'd ever lived without one. Read books, watched movies, checked my e-mail on the go ... wonderful! However, after owning it for a year and six months (thus out of warranty), I turned it on one morning to be greeting by a solid, white screen. Hard and soft reset had no effect. Switching batteries didn't help.

Then I discovered that Dell charges you $39 just to TALK to someone who can initiate the repair process on an out-of-warranty item. There's no place to take it or send it in. You have to go through the phone number that charges you up front before you can even talk to someone about repairs. That just doesn't seem right to me, and I'm disappointed at how soon my Axim (which was very well cared for and never dropped or roughly handled) stopped working. Complaints to customer service just get me canned responses.

This would be a wonderful device if you never needed technical support, or if they offered it in English. I have yet, in numerous calls to Dell, to speak to someone who can understand ordinary English sentences or speak without a heavy middle eastern accent. As I write, I'm on hold for the seventh time in the same call. I have been passed back and forth all morning. Everyone is "sorry" for the inconvenience. All I want to know is the secret technique to replace the backup battery without taking the unit out of service and mailing it to Dell. This question has sent them into an endless loop of confusion. I started with technical support who sent me to parts who sent me to customer service who sent me to parts who sent me to technical support. Now I'm on hold.

Buy one of these time-saving devices and you, too, can be sorry for the inconvenience. UPDATE: tech support just came on with the news: if your backup battery needs replacement, unless your device is still under warranty, just throw the unit away! It is no longer supported! Sorry for the inconvenience!

The Dell Axim X30 624 Mhz was released in 2004. It still has a lot going for it; it's sleek, compact, and attractive, it's got Bluetooth and WiFi, and a 624 Mhz processor (the fastest processor available then). But I can't imagine why anyone would want to buy this outdated model, especially since the price listed here for a brand new unit is higher than what it retailed for in 2004. It uses Windows Mobile 2003 (WM v4), which isn't supported by MS anymore. The current version of Windows Mobile is 6.1.

Additionally, Dell has discontinued the Axim X30 since 2007. You will have trouble getting support from Dell if you run into any problems.

But complaints about it being outdated aside, the Dell Axim X30 has a few significant problems with it:

1) A problem commonly reported is the backup battery going bad or burning out. There is no way to replace it unless you want to venture into cracking the case open and soldering the right kind of battery on.

2) A lot of users, like myself, have the problem with the built-in storage spontaneously disappearing. The PPC doesn't "see" the drive anymore; it's like it doesn't even exist.

3) Activesync frequently fails to sync some task and calendar items.

4) Pathetic battery life. I can squeeze about 2.5 hours from the battery it comes with and that's with Bluetooth ans WiFi turned off and the screem dimmed down.

5) On my X30, the power/data connector completely broke loose.

I would advise you to pass this up.

Connects to computer easily, but Vista sync software does not function properly with the unit. It does give you the option to drag-drop files to the iPaq but the sync doesn't work. When in charging station the screen is always on with the Dock Ware on the iPaq.
