Black - High Capacity
- Compatibility: Konica Minolta magicolor 5550 (120V) Printer
- Typical Print Yield: 12000 Page
- Print Technology: Laser
It's worth noting that the cost of toner, if I refill all the toner cartridges this lovely printer can take, is more than I paid for the printer itself. I understand that this has become the economic model in the printer industry. For some, this means it is cheaper to buy a new printer than to purchase expensive toner or ink. Konica-Minolta is ahead of that curve, though. By making the Magicolor 5670EN more than seventy pounds, this company has ensured that I will never want to move the printer, much less leave it outside for a trash collector to lift, causing a herniated disk. How would I live with myself, injuring another human being who is merely trying to do his job simply so I can save a few dollars? No, I will replace the toner cartridges. They are much lighter.
Now, this particular toner is fabulous. It is the genuine article: made by Konica-Minolta for its printers to exacting specs. This black, high capacity cartridge contains, in fact, very black toner. I would have been fine with black that was as black as day-old coffee or as black as a moonless night, but no. This toner is as black as the watchful eyes of a cobra, I tell you. As black as Satan's heart. When you look into this toner, this toner also looks into you. Try this toner and you will never buy third-party toner again. Once you go this black, you never go back.
On top of that, this toner is high capacity. This is no snack toner. This is a meal. It will take you some time to use all of this very black toner. Just in case, I printed out my last will and testament with this toner -it printed wonderfully -and bequeathed the remaining toner to someone. That's how long this high capacity toner can last. That means printing a lot of things that, hopefully, are not embarrassing, wasteful trash like insurance claim forms or tax bills. When I finally finish with this toner, I hope to be wiser and more worldly. How many toners can offer you that hope?
So, in summation, buy this toner if you happen to have a Konica-Minolta Magicolor 5670EN. If you don't have that particular printer, the toner will not do you much good at all even as magnificent as it is. However, if you do own this particular brand of very heavy printer, this is the toner for you if you also happen to print black things and want them to be very black indeed and if you also want for that black toner to last a long time. If you meet all those requirements, this toner is just as right for you as it was for me. Toner love? Yes, it happens.Works good, lasts a long time, we print out quite a few pages daily. It is just a bit expensive for the Konica brand, but worth it.Very happy with the product. It is genuine product made in Japan assembled in China. Installed in my printer Konica Minolta Magicolor 5670 ( which incidentally is a great printer). The printer is working fine with the cartridge.Be careful when ordering toner on line. I originally ordered from another vendor and when I got the product it was not genuine Konica-Minolta. You need to call to verify it is the genuine product. Using compatibles can void your warrentee. In any case, this was the real deal, works great, no complaints. I will use this vendor again.

Aiptek PocketCinema V20 Portable Pico Projector with SD Slot and Built-In Media Player-Black
- Weighs Less Than 6 Ounces
- 15 Lumens; uniquely aesthetic touch-sensitive keypad
- Projects Up to 42" Clearly
- 2GB Built-In Memory and Integrated Media Player
- 32GB Expandable SD Card Slot
The Pocket Cinema V20 got it right this time. The picture is noticeably brighter with better color. Using a standard camera tripod I can throw a very acceptable picture onto a six foot screen. There is an internal menu for adjusting brightness, contrast, color saturation, etc. The best part is that after showing a full-length movie the projector remains cool enough not to cause any problems.
The controls have been redesigned with a flat illuminated touch panel to control the electronics (it takes some getting used to, but the sensitivity is adjustable), a real switch to power the unit on and off, and a very good remote control. The battery can now be left in the unit without overcharging when using the AC adaptor.
Using the included adaptor cables you can connect any standard video source (RCA connectors), or use the internal memory (2GB) or add an SDHC memory card. However, unlike the V10+, the projector

J5 Android Mirror - Use your Android on your PC!
Their support was very helpful. A must have!!!I like the notifications on screen and the auto rotation. Someone said it doesn't work on root but it works well on mine; I don't install custom roms. I use a rpd app also but think they are better for pc access. Depends on what you are trying to gain. I use it on my pc for travel when there is no wifi connection. No need to tether or pay for tether for that matter. Kids get full screen movies and games on the road. No need to carry additional electronics. I made it as a portable .exe, so I use it at work no installation required on company pc. And with the notifications no need to ever pick up my phone at work at my desk. Worth the buy even tho I paid more than what it is listed now. Hope this helps.

The opening for the rear camera lens is cut large enough to not cause any problems. The front one is smaller and could be a problem. I don't use the front camera so can't say for sure.
The only negative comment is the fit of the case by the "on/off" switch and the volume switch. Because these controls are on the back slope of the tablet and the case comes up further than the height of the tablet, it is hard for big fingers to hit these switches. In doing this review, I have to say, I must have spent several weeks looking for the perfect case to hold my new Asus Prime TF700. Many were all the same, as in looks, and color(black), which is not too exciting, for a women to carry her pad around in. I spent the last couple of years with a black case for my Barnes and Noble Nook, and was ready for a change. I ordered an advance order, and it actually came a few days early. The quality is flawless, and there are cut out areas for all the ports, (charging, headphones, etc.)The only small suggestion I could add, is that when charging, you need to leave the case folded open, as the charging cord goes in at a awkward side of the tablet. Not too big of an issue. I especially love how the actual sleeve it is housed in, can be removed(velcro), and put in different viewing angles, according to how you like the screen, either vertical or horizontal. The rooCASE, all in all, has exceeded my expectations, and I am MORE than happy with the looks and functionality of the product. If you want a case to protect your investment, I would, without hesitation, refer you to this item.I bought this case based on the flexibility of the different positions your tablet can sit in, and for the price I am happy with it and would recommend it. The black leather looks and feels nice and does protect my tablet pretty well. My biggest issue with this case is when you have the tablet in the case with the cover open or closed, there is no access for the charging cable! Being this case has two parts, one that holds the tablet and the second is the Velcro attached foldable cover, with the foldable cover not attached or flipped open you can plug it in. The other option is to spin the tablet around, essentially placing the tablet in the foldable cover backwards, this allows access for that port however blocks the back camera. So if you don't plan on using the back facing camera this is actually a non issue, if you do though its something to consider. My other small issue is that sometime when you are using the case to prop up the tablet, the bottom of the tablet where it touches the foldable cover sometimes slips and the tablet falls flat. Again not a big deal and if you take your time and make sure the tablet is lined up with the ridge perfectly it shouldn't go anywhere. Aside from the two for mentioned issues the case works exactly as its advertised. Its also sleeker than many of the cases I found in the big box stores and seems to fit better as well. The cutouts for the camera lenses (Both front and back) also were positioned well just for this product. I like the product and have no buyers remorse again mostly because the other ones I found didn't have features I wanted or felt cheap. The case fit like a glove. The cut outs were in the right places and the multiangle case is perfect. . Lighter than the case my son has and the feel of the product is great. Love it!wish the charger port was available when inserted into the case both directions. Only available in one direction. not a big change required

SanDisk Retail Pack SDSDB-512-A10, UPC Code 619659018115
- 512 MB capacity
- User selectable mechanical write protect switch on the exterior card casing
- Works with all SD enabled devices
- Low battery consumption to maximize battery life in small portable devices
- Operating shock rating of 2,000Gs, equivalent to a 10-foot drop to the floor
SanDisk's 512MB SD card is by far the cheapest available. In most cases, the other cards are at least 50% more than this one.
I was curious about speed since SanDisk is known for being a bit on the slow side. This card was relatively newly released when I wanted it, so I was unable to find any good speed figures online. Therefore, I bought it anyway -and ran the speed tests myself.
Testing on a Toshiba/AudioVox Genio e550G with Kai's Speed Test application, I ran the Write Test 5 times with the following results:
Trial #1: 263KB/Sec
Trial #2: 263KB/Sec
Trial #3: 181KB/Sec
Trial #4: 171KB/Sec
Trial #5: 196KB/Sec
Not very consistent, for some reason. I was not running any other applications at the time, so I am not sure why the fluctuation.
For comparison, here are the results using a Lexar 256MB SD card:
Trial #1: 263KB/Sec
Trial #2: 271KB/Sec
Trial #3: 279KB/Sec
Trial #4: 256KB/Sec
Trial #5: 256KB/Sec
So, at their best, the two cards seem quite comparable. It is just that the Lexar card is clearly more stable as far as speed fluctuations go.
In any case, I'm happy with it -especially for the huge difference in price in most cases. Works for me. Plus, 5-year warranty -just in case.
John...
---UPDATE---
The fact that the card always performed well for the first two tests but then slowed and stayed slow until the device was reset was really bothering me, so I contacted SanDisk about it and gave them the same results that I shared here. SanDisk said that they thought the card was defective! I therefore had this card replaced (very quickly and easily by Amazon, I will add) and have just repeated my tests with the new card. Good news! The replacement card is usually faster and much more consistent than the original! It no longer slows down after the first two tests -the results are repeatable at any time.
For comparison, here are the new figures for the 512MB SanDisk card:
Trial #1: 329KB/Sec
Trial #2: 263KB/Sec
Trial #3: 341KB/Sec
Trial #4: 279KB/Sec
Trial #5: 318KB/Sec
As you can see, the card is now performing at or above the speed of the 256MB Lexar that I had previously tested. I am now quite satisfied with this card -it appears to be giving the same speeds or better than other cards well above this price range.

This is a basic SD card which is not expensive since it is not 1 gig or made by Sony and other companies with a lot of hype. Still holds more than 500 photos at the best resolution in a 5.1 Megapixel camera.I have the Canon SD450 and the highest resolution I take pictures is 1600x1200 which turn out as outstanding prints on photo paper.
I take close to 200 photos every month. but since I download then to my computer (or IPod if I am on the road) I do not run out of memory space ever.
I weighed out my options with 1gig cards but ultimately it only means that I can take more pictures at a stretch. Look at it this way if you buy 2 512 Mb cards you have the simple flexibility of keeping your photos separate, have a backup memory card rather than buying one 1 gig card which if it fails you are stuck with no memory at all.
You can get this product for under $30 if you search well enough and find good deals. I have three of these at an avg cost of $32 each.

How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries. The SanDisk SDSDB-512-A10 512MB Secure Digital Card, like most 512MB cards, will store on average 568 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 426 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 256 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 204 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 160 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.
I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this 512MB card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

It's easy to recommend this 512MB SanDisk SD card because I've owned one for close to a year now, using it with my Treo 650 smartphone. I keep it in the phone at all times and have never experienced a problem with it. Ever.I use it to store MP3s, short videos, eBooks, photos, even MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, along with a few Palm applications. It's easy to transfer files using an inexpensive Bonzai USB flash drive that I also would recommend.
Of course, this card is versatile enough to use for portable flash storage when paired with a USB reader as well as to transfer files between desktops and laptops, or between digitial cameras and computers.
I value SanDisk products for their quality and relatively low price. With larger capacity cards entering the market the 512MB (and even 1GB) models are getting less and less expensive.
SanDisk offers rebates every few months so even if you don't need a card right now, put this on your wishlist and check Amazon frequently to take advantage of even greater savings. This is an awesome card, you cant really say much it holds a nice ammount of pictures, and has a lock feature that keeps your data from being deleted. I would say use the lock feature when going on trips, i lost all my data when i accidently had my camera in my pocket and some how pressed a button by accident and delted everything. Also ive used this card to transfer data from computer to computer very good use as well. Really worth the money.

I bought my wife a Sony Clie PEG-S320 for Christmas. She soon came to be dependent on it, but did not 'sync' with the computer often enough. One day, she cracked the LCD, rendering most of the functions (including the menu) useless. We were looking at many hours of lost data.Using the USB cradle, we were still able to sync, and then load all her data back into her new Clie. Without the cradle, we had no way to trigger the sync process. I would highly recommend this device to anyone with a 300 series Clie. The detachable charger is a nice feature as well.

Sure the cradle is fine for synching/recharging but after about 16 months of use, the charging lead did not make a clean connect with the cradle interface (or directly with the clie). I had to take apart the charging interface and force the pins out a little more then try and tape it all back together. I have to do this every month now since the pins gradually retract. It's the only fault I've had in using the Sony Clie but I'll prob have to get a full cradle replacement becuase of it.

This is a great set of sony product. I love the wall adapter I can use at the office seperate from my hotsync craddle. This model is for the Peg-s series, specifically S360,s320 and s300. This will not work with the SJ series and will not work for the SL series clie either. So check your model number carefully.I just bought a Clie PEG-SL 10, and this cradle is advertised as the right one for PEG-S series. WATCH OUT! does not fit into the PEG-SL10...though it is advertised as compatible for all PEG-S series. I am retuning it.Saturday, April 26, 2014
Velocity Micro T301 Cruz 7-Inch Android 2.0 Tablet (Black)
- Velocity Micro Cruz Tablet 7-inch Touchscreen Android 2.0 Tablet General Features: Black color
- 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display 800 x 600 resolution
- Google Android 2.0 (Froyo) pre-installed Dual core processor 256 MB RAM 2 GB internal storage
- SD/SDHC memory card slot Mini-USB 2.0 interface Integrated IEEE 802.11n Wireless LAN
- Built-in speakers
Yesterday I came across information about upgrading from Android 2.0 to 2.2 and decided to give it a try. What a difference! First, the home screen just looks better. The pad is much more responsive than before -I'll have to get accustomed to tapping once and waiting before tapping the screen again. So far web browsing is easier, Kindle seems to be more stable (although I haven't used it long enough to really judge), and even battery life, which was good before, seems to have improved as well.
If you're looking to get your feet wet with a tablet but don't want to spend a lot of $$ the T301 might be a good start IF you upgrade to Android 2.2 (which you can do after you register the T301 at the velocitymicro.com site). Of course I haven't recently checked other tablet features/prices so you should probably do that!
Buy Velocity Micro T301 Cruz 7-Inch Android 2.0 Tablet (Black) Now
Received it with the new Froyo 2.2 OS installed right out of the box, its 2.2.1-rc7 to be exact. The capacitive screen behaves better than I thought, and I am not sure why people have such a huge issue with it, it works great and really is very responsive. The multi-touch does work, and yes, it does have some delay if you scroll around, say on a webpage or even to look around through your installed apps, its definitely not the same speed as you'd expect from an iPad, but its not bad at all either, I mean come on, this is a $150 product ! The more I use it, the more I like it, its definitely not as horrible as others have commented on some other reviews.Tried to install Angry Birds, nope, didn't install at all, none of the different Angry Birds did. Guns and Glory though runs pretty slowly, again, the processor on the T301 is only a bit more than 500mhz, so I am not surprised. Some other games work fine, such as Robot Defense, which runs a very playable speed. Adobe Flash Player didn't install at all, so no direct Flash support as stated in the Cruz manual. However, Youtube app does work fine, as well as some other apps that play online videos, which use the youtube app as a playback engine. Haven't tried anything 3D'ish, my assumption is that either it wouldn't install or wouldn't run.
As an eReader, it works flawlessly ! Amazon Kindle came pre-installed, and works great, iReader runs great, I have yet to put more, but I know that the Kobo reader app will run just fine and is available for download at the Cruz Market. Speaking of market, there's no way to put Android Market on this thing, but there are other app stores that can do the trick for you, such as AppBrain, SlideMe, and some others. It took me a while to find an internet radio app to install and run on the T301, Resco Radio 1.3, and must be 1.3, all other versions failed to install. Its awesome to have music going while I am reading !!
z4root didn't install, so forget about simple rooting. None of the searches I found on Google tells a solid rooting routine for the T301, but so far, I don't see why one needs to root it. App2SD does work and works wonderfully.
A couple of CON's I need to give the T301. There is no way to locate the T301's MAC address, since my router is set to use MAC address filtering for connecting to the web, I had to have its MAC address. You would expect to find it in the Settings>About... But no, its not there, this is not the first Android tablet I've owned, I know where it is normally, but on the T301, its just not shown ! I had no choice but to disable my router's MAC address filter but to have it wide open. Got the T301 connected, and loaded up the router's settings, and voila ! There's the T301's Mac address listed on the router's admin page !
Another CON is that the box says there's 2gb of storage space, but I only found 650megs !? I am not sure how and where I can get to the other 1.4gb of storage... If someone's reading this and knows what to do to claim space back, please help ! But then again, I have an external 4gb SD card inserted, its still good after all.
Like many other reviewers mentioned, the T301 is indeed quite heavy, at least heavier than my other tablets.
I have not tried loading movies on it, so I have no comment about it. Otherwise, if you have patience to look up apps that you need and that they DO install and work fine on the T301, then its really a great tablet for the price, but just don't expect it a gaming machine !
UPDATE 08-08-2011:
So it turns out that there IS a way to put Android Market on the Cruz T301. I did it by following what the below link suggested, and thank goodness, it DOES work !!!! The only thing I had to do prior to perform this little procedure was that I had to update my T301 with the firmware released some time in May on the Velocity Micro website, I had to make sure the Android OS is 2.2.1, but NOT 2.2.1rc7 or anything rc's. It took only about 3 to 5 minutes to update the firmware, and I got myself a fully working T301 with OS 2.2.1.
Putting the Anrdroid Market on it was also pretty easy, just follow what the folks said on the page. I have been downloading apps from the genuine Market like a kid in a free candy store ! Also Aldiko Premium 1.2.9 DOES work on the T301, install it for more of your reading needs !
Here is the link:

Bought as a color, touchscreen Kindle. It's that and more!! Hooked up to WiFi fast and flawless. Great capacitive screen. Got live wallpaper. YouTube works great. Email works great. Needed get incoming/outgoing info from Centurylink, though. Must understand what you're buying. I have an iPad. This isn't one. Nor is it a full-fledged Android tablet. You're not getting that for $150!!! It IS, however, cheaper than a Nook Color with a Kindle selection. Some Android Apps work. Some don't. Try and see. Downloaded a video to 8GB SD card. Can't get it to play though. This is Android 2.2 out of the box. Didn't come with SD card. Not too important. They're cheap. No flash player. Skyfire Browser gives that though. I like this device. I like the 7inch screen. My kids steal my iPad and I needed a back up color, touchscreen reader/web browser with benefits for cheap. This is it!!!Want Velocity Micro T301 Cruz 7-Inch Android 2.0 Tablet (Black) Discount?
You can't actually use it, the apps all crash, you can't install anything because the Amazon and Android market place are not pre-installed and the browser keeps crashing so you can't get to the Amazon or Android Market places. I've reset factory defaults and tried over and over like a blind pig running into the broad side of a barn over and over again. I give up. I'm returning it.It actually came with Android 2.2.1 pre-installed.I did not do any research before ordering this product, my assumption was that since it ran Android it would be able to connect to the Google android market and download anything that would run on my two year old Droid cell phone. I was mistaken. Even though it is June 2012 this piece of Junk will not do 1/4 of what my 2010 Droid phone will.
I purchased this so that my 5 year old daughter would have a tablet to play with instead of using my smart phone. What I am now stuck with is a $100 paper weight that I cannot return for a refund even though I only had it out of the box for an hour. Thanks TigerDirect.com you just lost a customer for life.
If you want to download any type of game or app from the Google android market DO NOT BUY THIS cheap tablet.

Okay if you're anything like me, than 64 megs is going to be plenty of space. There's more than enough room for high quality digital picture as well as Mp3's or whatever else you can think of. The only down side to having a larger card is that it takes a while to download or upload information. For that problem there is the viking card reader, at around $60 it's not a bad investment if you're planning on using that card a lot.Read Best Reviews of SanDisk 64 MB CompactFlash Card Here
I use this CF card with my digital camera and find it quite reliable. Using standard compression on my camera, I could easily take approximately 64 shots (@ 3 megapixels). This saves me the time of always having to delete or offload the pictures into my computer with a smaller CF card.I couldn't find any differences between the different CF cards that are available from other manufacturers; except for the capacity of the memory. All the CF cards available are the same except for the cost.
Best thing to do is shop around for the best deal/service. Living in Canada, I could only compare with Kodak, Sandisk and Lexar CF cards.
Sandisk was by far the cheapest compared to the other brands.
So far I have taken over 400 shots with no problems. I am quite satisfied and pleased with this CF card's performance.SanDisk Compact Flash media cards work excellently in all our devices, from the camera to our Psion handheld. What most people don't realize is that the speed at which their device stores information to the card determines how long the recovery time is between pictures or file saving, etc. We've noticed that some people think the compact flash card itself is the problem, when in fact the speed of storage or writing to the cards is ALSO dependent on the performance of the particular camera, handheld, etc. (on board operational RAM/memory, processing chip clock speed). We recommend that before a person buy a desired device that they check/compare magazine reviews, recommendation lists and manufacturer specs to find out how fast a device write/stores. This will save you much frustration later. When my studio went Digital last year we bought a Kodak DCS 330, after learning with a Kodak DC210Plus, and since we use the camera tethered to a computer by a Firewire, we still need good memory capacity in the camera. With two SanDisk 64MB cards in the camera we have enough memory to hold the images of a Portrait session before transferring them into Photoshop for processing. At 8.65 Megabytes per image, two 64s don't provide very much space so we take a laptop with us in the field for transfer. But a professional absolutely must have rock-solid reliability and we get it with the SanDisk 64s no hint of noise or problems after over 1,000 images in each disk. They were recommended to me by another Professional Photographer.

Motorola IMFree Handheld Instant Messenger Kit
- Up to seven handhelds can be used at the same time on a single base
- Supports up to 12 popular emoticons, up to six chat sessions simultaneously per handheld
- Built-in parental controls can limit who can send messages to the handheld and block certain chat invitations
- Works great on cable modems and DSL, and even works with dial up
- Included: IMfree unit with removable bezel, base with USB cable, NiMH rechargeable battery, plug in charger, CD ROM, user manual, one year limited warranty
The units we received indicate 'out of range' when taken upstairs in our house, which is about 50 feet from the base unit.
I used Motorola's web support site and asked if it was possible that my units were defective. They sent me the URL to an FAQ, which told me that the working range for these things is 150 feet. Very frustrating. It seems they did not even read my question. To add insult to injury, their automated customer satisfaction followup email was emblazoned with the motto 'intelligence everywhere'. I beg to differ.
In summary, I do not recommend the IMfree.

Other than its somewhat-cute looks, the IMFree handheld is a terrible product, because it doesn't work. This is a big disappointment to me as I'm usually a big fan of Motorola's products.First of all, the charging takes forever, and the units seem to have trouble holding the charge. BTW, you get one base and one handheld unit in each package. Kinda weird since I haven't found a way to buy the handheld unit separately. So you over-pay each time and get this large package with things you don't need.
Second, wireless range is truly terrible. If you live in a loft you'll probably be ok, but for those of us who live in walled houses, the reception completely drops after just a few feet when you move to the otherside of a wall.
Third, the keyboard sucks, and the screen sucks even more. Keys are very hard to hit, and the screen is not viewable in most lighting conditions.
Fourth, the IM program sucks. There's a slight but noticeable delay in IM, and it doesn't always tell you when your buddies log off.
In short, this is an alpha product, and you shouldn't have to pay for your frustrations.

We got both of our children, son 14 & daughter 10, one of these for christmas last year. My husband & both thought that for the small price we paid it might last a month & then fall apart, but to our surprise, almost a year later they are still working perfectly! They are worth every penny we paid for them & more. The kids can walk around the house & instant message with their friends. It is much easier than a laptop because of the small size which is about the size of a PDA. We downloaded the software & the base just plugs into one of our desktop computers; a very easy set up. They have the freedom to move around anywhere in our home & sometimes even manage to do chores while using the IMFree. I would say that if you have kids or teens that IM a lot, it would be a great gift, especially if you are trying to put off purchasing another computer. The IMFree would be a MUCH cheaper option.Want Motorola IMFree Handheld Instant Messenger Kit Discount?
Dear Lord, first of all for the record this thing sucks. It takes over 16 hours to charge the battery. It took twice as long for me because the charger for mine was irregular and did not fit correctly so it would occasionaly stop charging all together. (Way to go Motorola)Second, after using it a grand total of 2 times it stopped working all together. It simply did not turn on. Even during those two times it was a poor substitute for a computer. The lighting is poor and frankly the black and gray graphics are crappy. I didn't expect this to be perfect but I did expect it to be functional. I was going to return it for a new one but after this experience I am going to get a refund instead. Also as teenager this device is marketed towards me. However if this is what Motorola thinks I and my peers want they are sorely mistaken. First of all, this handheld needs a backlight and color screen. Also it is extremely annoying that u have to have the computer on the whole time. I have DSL so the computer just sits there the whole time. I would not mind paying extra for these features. As for people who say the MX240a has terrible range, it must be interference with your area. I have an IMfree base station connected on top of an entertainment center (about a foot and a half away from the ceiling) in my basement, at about a foot away from the absolute front of my house. My room is at the back of my house, on the opposite side, upstairs. I can easily lay in bed and watch TV while talking on the MX240a. There is a tiny lag. TINY. I know this because I've left my AIM running on the PC downstairs and speakers on just to see when the sound cued downstairs, and compared it to when I got the message. Miniscule. For those who say the keyboard sucks and screen sucks and all of this; try thinking of it compared to a phone. They keyboard on this thing is obviously designed so you're NOT typing traditional keyboarding style, but instead... thumb talk. Text messaging. This thing is a dream as compared to AIM's use of IM Forwarding to text messages on a cell phone. I'm an avid thumb typer with this, and I've had no problems.
The only thing missing is the use of a Timex Indiglo style backlight. That's absolutely it. Maybe a higher resolution LCD screen, but I see no purpose in having a full color backlit LCD screen, as this thing is to supplement for convenience, not replace your PC.
Although the common person to buy this is to get their teen off the computer, I bought it so I didn't have to sit in my basement studio, away from home theater, couches, bed, etc. to simply chat online without using a cell phone. May I stress, although aimed at, this product is NOT strictly for teenagers or preteens that you want off of the "family PC" ...it's for anyone who's tired of being stuck in the room with the PC just to talk online.
I paid approx. $45 for this thing at Circuit City, and it came with the base station. For a while (I haven't seen them since I bought this), they also sold the MX240a alone for about $15 less than the "starter kit"
I am very pleased, and could only ask for a simple backlight.

Fire Red VG Pindar Edition Durable Messenger Shoulder Bag Case for Acer Aspire One AO722 AO725 AO756
Hopefully by the time you are seeing this review, either the price has come down or there is a free shipping option, but even if you have to pay $40, like I did, you'll probably find that it is worth it. I'm not at all disappointed in it.

HP iPAQ 1935 Pocket PC
- Dazzling transflective TFT color display with an LED backlight
- Flexible expansion options
- Mobile versions of familiar applications like Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Entertainment on the go with games, music, and video
- What's in the box: iPaQ 1935, Stylus, Removable/Rechargeable 900 mAh Lithium-lon battery, AC adapter, USB cable, User Manual
The positives first, the size is great, this is a shirt pocket PDA and I am very pleased with the reduction in size from the 3760. The screen is bright and very easy to read. There is no wasted space on the front of the system at all. The function and navigation buttons work well. The stylus' size is perfect and fits very nicely into the unit. Finally, I love the removable battery.
Now the problems;
1. There is no docking cradle available for this model yet. You got to be kidding me. How can you release a product like this that targets small businesses and not have something like that ready! This means my Ipaq lies on my desk instead of being in a position that I can quickly glance at my appointment or see what time it is. I was told by HP that the cradle for the other similar model (H1910) will not work.
2. The USB cable used to synchronize my H1935 with my desktop does not charge the unit. This was not true for the older model Ipaqs. Why would you want to remove functionally like that? You have to plug the wall adapter into the USB cable. This is very messy on the desktop.
3. Why does each model have a different charging/communication port? This means all new cables for serial, cellular phone, car charger connections. Again not problem if you don't already have all these items.
4. Why, why, why couldn't HP have installed a normal audio jack?!? They use a smaller jack. Maybe this is for some future standard, but I not aware of one. You have to keep this 2 inch mini-cable with you to plug into headphones or speakers.
5. Last complaint, everyone that I know that has a PDA and wants to "beam" something to another PDA, points the top of their PDA to the top of the other. This new 1935 has the IR port on the side. Is this a new standard? Maybe I need to look other new PDAs to see how their IR ports are positioned. It just seems odd to me.
That's my experience with this new Ipaq. I really do like this new model and I'm going to keep it despite some of the aggravating quirks it has and lack of accessories. I will get use to quirks and wait for the docking cradle. I use my PDA for contacts and keeping track of my appointments, but also use it with my cell phone for e-mail and monitoring the company's network. I was looking for something that is easier to carry around and this works perfect for that.

I've had the chance to try out HP's attempt at a consumer-friendly Pocket PC, and they have a winner. Nearly as small and just as light as a Palm V, HP has packed a top-notch screen and almost all of the functionality you could possibly want into a handsome 4 oz. piece of electronics. Some thoughts:
* The battery doesn't last as long as Palm's, and you'll probably want to charge it at least every other day, every day if you use it extensively. You can get an extra battery, since the HP's is removable -a real advantage in the long run, since you won't have to send the unit in for servicing a la the Palm and most other PDA models.
* You want MP3s, you got 'em. Add a 256MB SD card, and you're off and running. The unit does contain an annoying headphone adapter jack, but such are the tradeoffs of small size PDAs (Palm has a similar issue on the similarly priced Tungsten E.) It's not an iPod, but it'll do.
* You can also display small videos and pics, of course, but who really needs/wants to do this on a regular basis? I suppose if you are one of those annoying people who want to show everybody your latest baby photos, this will be just the ticket.
* There is no wireless functionality out of the box. You can add it later, but if you really are looking for Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, you probably want a PDA with those features built in. That'll cost you, of course.
* Is there such a thing as too small? The buttons on this Pocket PC take a bit getting used to compared to the large and in charge buttons on the older, bloated iPaqs of yesteryear.
* Why so chintzy on the warranty? 90 days?! Take it from me, PDAs break. Their screens can crack, units freeze up, buttons stick -basically, bad stuff happens. Seems like HP is trying to force folks to upgrade to the extended warranty. That is unacceptable support from one of the world's largest companies, and costs this otherwise excellent unit a star. (Palm offers 1 year, and I personally had near-instant turnaround on a Palm Vx repair)...

I recently decided to upgrade from a Jornada 680 HPC (very old version of WinCE) because mine is breaking down and HP no longer supports this old platform (although I love the form factor with keyboard). Anyway, I decided to go for the H1935 but after few days switched to the Toshiba e355. I thought it would be useful to note down a brief comparison to help others who are considering the two. I really liked the iPAQ but the Toshiba has a number of things that are better for me:HP iPAQ H1935
* Quite a bit smaller and lighter than Toshiba (too small for me)and hence buttons not good for big fingers!
* Has a removable battery so you can keep a spare
* More software on CD (e.g. Adobe)
* Small power cable makes it easy to carry around and usb cradle comes with another "head" so you can charge it at the same time using only one cable.
* No cradle (I like to have my PDA upright on the desk)
* Stylus awkward to extract
* Headphone socket is smaller than usual requiring an adapter(included)
* Only 3 mth warranty
TOSHIBA e355
* Larger and heavier fits in my hand better
* Comes with cradle which fits it really snuggly so it won't fall out even if held upside down. On the other hand it's heavy for traveling you may want a separate cable.
* Power cable is like a laptop's (bad for domestic but good for international travel as you only need to purchase the power end of the country visiting and it will work)
* No external battery
* Side scroll button is very handy
* Central toggle button much easier to use
* Home button has a feature not in iPAQ which accesses 4 tabs on screen for easy organization of apps. One tab lists running apps so you can easily close down running applications (in Pocket PCs the x only minimizes programs they are still running in the background taking up memory. Programs tab includes app backup that backs up to SD
* Uses regular headphone socket size
* Faster processor
* 1 year warranty
* Cheaper

After receiving a promotion that vastly increased the scope of my duties, I decided to purchase a handheld to help me keep everything straight. Good decision. As I researched the choices, it became obvious that people are passionate about their handhelds. Reviews of Palm's, Sony's, and others swayed me one way then the other. My advice is read the reviews then go to a store with working devices where you can check them out personally. The Palm's and Sony's bored me but the HP's (Compaq) got me excited. My final choice was the HP 1935 and I couldn't be happier. It has a brilliant clear color display contained in a small size with all the features I need. There are more full featured devices out there, but only at a much higher price. This one has all that I need and saves me from paying considerably more for features I don't need (Bluetooth, etc.) Some reviewers have knocked this unit for not coming with a cradle or carrying case, but this keeps the initial cost down and allows one to select a "personalized" case rather than be stuck with the one provided. As such, for me this "ommission" is a advantage not a disadvantage.
This unit is designed to meet a price point and it does so beautifully. I thank HP for offering such a wonderfull device at an attractive price. I like it so much that I bought another one for my wife. I highly recommend this unit!I purchased the 1935 after having used NEC Hpcs, and and older ipaq 3800 series. personally I have no use for the add-on sleeves for the larger ipaqs, and I did want smaller size. I use this device for contacts, callendar, map program (MS pocket streets & trips) bible software and more. Reviews saying there are few accesories and cases have not looked around enough, I found 9 different cases for this model (search under ipaq 1910 to increase results) before settling on a vaja leather case that I love. needs an SD card if you plan on storing large amounts of maps, music etc. If you have never used windows pocket pc OS before, you will find that it is anoying to close or switch between tasks, I recommend downloading a task manager called magic button (free) from www.trancreative.com to make task management work much like regular windows. I love the bright screen, the small size and for a 203mz processor I find it to be very fast, although I do not play games or videos.
Cons: I would have liked a case and cradle and all of the things that other reviewers said, but for the price I can't complain and I prefer to customize those things anyway.

NokiaUSA has this listed on their store now, but for now there aren't maps for the NaviCore software that this uses. If you go to their website directly you'll not be able to purchase it for the US.I'm surprised the earlier reviewer found US street data *at all*.
Buyers should note that this isn't useful for the US market in general at this time.

I'm not sure why the previous reviewer had map missing map data. You have to select the proper map (see 1st comment under application).I used this device last week for a trip from Washington, D.C. to Denver, via Dallas and have the following:
Map Data:
The map data contains a lot of town/zip-code inaccuracies. Use the zip code to look up addresses, especially rural ones.
Some street numbers are missing, even if the street appears on the map.
Some street numbers are not accurate to the location (off by hundreds of yards).
Application (the first 3 were the worst):
It won't automatically change maps. I had to specify a destination at the Mississippi river, cross it, change maps & specify the real destination. History is tied to the loaded map.
If you aren't on a road (such as in a parking lot), it can't give you route data (instead of assuming the nearest road).
I had one rural address that it said existed, and couldn't plot a route. I noticed that it couldn't do the last little bit. I backed out about 2 miles and was able to get directions to there and once I got there, it could plot the last 2 miles. Go figure.
The "Sara" voice is annoyingly happy with an upper midwest accent (I think Chicago). No other American Woman voice. May try a British voice instead. Looks like you could replace them with your own (they are OGG files). Not sure I want my wife or daughter giving me instructions though!
Sometimes it would talk you through a highway split, sometimes it wouldn't.
Only about half a dozen of the last destinations are in the history. My Mio device has remembered all of them.
A couple of times the application exited on it's own with no comment from the device.
Private driveways are present (especially rural areas) and it gives you turning instructions to stay on the road which are not necessary.
Sometimes it gives you a 2 mile warning before a turn, sometimes it doesn't.
In 2-D mode, it won't keep North at the top, even if you try to select it.
In night-mode, only the map is darkened, not all the other display items, so it is still bright.
Power save mode should be disabled if the device is plugged in.
GPS Receiver:
Doesn't provide battery data to the application.
Good Points:
The directions are better than from my Mio C710 which likes to say: "Keep left. Keep left. Turn Right" and now that I'm in the far left lane....
I like the seperate GPS receiver (so I can move the N800 around the car).
The GPS receiver was sensitive enough that it didn't have to be on the dash.
Battery life was good. I swapped the car changer between devices every 3-4 hours.
Want Nokia NAVKITN800 Navigation Kit for N800 Internet Tablet Discount?
Works as expected but the n800 has very slow response times, I highly recommend that you use the n810 since it has an integrated GPS unit in it.
