These things are great. I keep them in a desk drawer with an old credit card, glass cleaning cloth, can of dry air and an Xacto razor.

The little graph reference makes cutting something to size a cinch. If you get a bubble while applying you can back up and they're pretty forgiving. I've had one on my Sansa mp3 player than I run with for several weeks now and it keeps on sticking even after all that sweat.

If they do get a little scratched they're cheap to replace and easy to work with so not much lost there.

I've gone a little crazy and screen protected everything I touch from camera LCD panels to cell phones to a DS Lite (they work on the touch screen just fine).

This created many bubbles and made more scratches in my iPhone screen. I followed all the instructions, but was still very disappointed. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone.

These are a little tricky to apply. I can never get it on completely bubble free. The bubble looks bad when the screen is dark, but a small one is hardly noticeable when the screen is lit. The best part: when it comes time to change protectors. I pull the old, crudy one off and my ipod screen is in perfect shape. Looks like it's band new. I will always keep one of these on my ipod.

I was really hoping that this product would have been easier to install. Yes the instructions are simple but the squeegee tool (cardboard) can actually scratch the protective screen as you try to get all the bubbles out and smooth it down.

Anyway, the price is good and you get 5 screen protectors, but you do get what you pay for.

I upgraded my cell phone in 2010 to one that has a large touch-screen menu. My son recommended I use a screen protector to prevent scratches, and he suggested I use WriteRight Universal Screen Protectors. There are 5 pieces of film (4.25" x 3.25") in the package I purchased. According to the cover, the protectors are "Easy to customize, leave no residue, and reduce screen glare." Generally speaking, they are right. The instructions are clear and concise and the picture instructions are very helpful.

What they don't tell you is the protection film scratches very easily. But the most significant omission is just how difficult the film is to apply bubble and dust-free. The sticky side of the film attracts dust and particles like a magnet. They provide a small piece of cardboard to squeeze the bubbles out, but what a frustrating process! In addition, if particles do attached to the sticky side, you will have a fun time trying to remove the bubbles they create and may scratch the phone screen in the process. Moving the piece of cardboard across the film will also scratch the film, even if moistened. This is the first time I've applied film, so a friend suggested wetting the edge of the cardboard before trying to remove bubbles. That did work a little better, but there still was scratching and I doubt getting water on the phone is a good idea.

As you can see, my experience with the WriteRight Universal Screen Protectors was definitely a mixed bag. I'm sure I will become a more proficient protector applier after a few tries. A package of 5 protectors retailed in 2010 for $8 and change (I see the price has come down to $6 and change). For best results, the instructions recommend removing the protector after just a month and applying a new one. Not at that price and process!

A-Data Turbo 8GB SDHC Flash Memory Card

This review is for the A-Data 8GB SDHC Turbo Class 6 memory card. Nice card, great price. BUT it's too slow for HD video capture in my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 camera. Less than a minute into the video capture, the camera stops recording and shows a message that the capture has stopped due to the write speed limitation of the memory card. Had the exact same problem with my 4GB A-Data SDHC Turbo Class 6 card. HOWEVER my A-Data 2GB SD Turbo 150X card will do the HD video capture with NO problems. Too bad the A-Data SDHC Turbo Class 6 cards are slower than the smaller capacity A-Data SD Turbo cards.

I purchased an A-Data 8 gigabyte Turbo SDHC card for my Canon G9 camera. Upon receiving the card, I put it in the camera and it worked great, and super fast. THEN, I inserted it in my ZOOM H2 and it worked great in that also! Note: Both devices claim only 4gb-SDHC support. Olympus PT-032 Underwater Housing for Stylus 710

I used this for scuba diving for up to 60' (which is the deepest I can go) and it had no leaks ever. Also the video with the Olympus camera works with this housing and sound comes through very well underwater (mostly bubble sounds though!). I am not impressed with this stylus. It's a slight improvement over my finger-requires more than a slight touch. The other problem is likely the touchpad on the Hero-especially the p key which becomes an o 95% of the time.

SanDisk is the only brand of flashcard, in my experience, with using them for my embroidery machine. They always retain all of the designs I have downloaded on them & this brand of flashcard ALWAYS works in my embroidery machine. Not a bad price for two chargers. They work fine, although I wasn't sure the car charger was charging. Turns out it was working fine. Handy to have one in the car and one on my charging station. You can't always charge via the computer, so these come in handy.

I received this product "Essential Kit for the Apple iPod Touch" and discovered that the connectors supplied were not compatible with the iPod Touch.

This necessitated a second order for the proper connectors at an additional $11.90 plus shipping. I guess, from a marketing standpoint, $29.95 sounds a lot better than $41.85, but calling the unusable kit "essential" is a con.

The product was exactly what I required. It was remanufactured and came stated as such but I didn't mind. It was better than a used cable with dust all over it.

What I did mind was that I needed the product right away for development purposes and it took more than two weeks to get it even though I paid for express shipping. The city it was coming from was less than 200 miles away so I figured it would be here within 3 days.

Next time I will order from my other source. My parts get here in 5 days or less without express shipping.

The cable works as designed, synchronizing my desktop with my Pocket PC. However, this does not recharge the Pocket PC's battery. I'll probably go ahead and purchase the cradle since that takes care of both the synchronization and the battery recharge.

A drive dock is a generic-looking electronic contraption that allows a bare, exposed, internal hard drive to be mounted for read/write on any computer, using any interface: USB, SATA, and FireWire 800 or 400. In my professional capacity as a computer tutor, trainer, and troubleshooter, I use UltraDock or one of its WiebeTech predecessors several times each week. My personal backups and archives also rely on WiebeTech drive docks, and on their RTX series drive bays, which MyMac reviewed previously.

WiebeTech's new UltraDock v4 has built-in connectors for 3.5 inch IDE/PATA drives, and for both 3.5 inch and laptop size 2.5 inch SATA drives. With all power, FireWire, USB, and SATA cables included, this drive dock ships fully equipped to attach an exposed external drive to a computer for testing, cloning, data transfer, or any other purpose.

MyMac has used and evaluated every drive dock from WiebeTech since the company's inception early this decade. Some of their drive docks are better than others, but the new UltraDock v4 is the best of the bunch, and well worth its $200 price tag. Intrepid techies and repair shops will bundle this dock's purchase with one or more v4 Combo Adapters. Most expensive and top value is an ultimate bundle for around $800 (see below).

WiebeTech considers its drive docks to be professional equipment, as compared to consumer quality docks from competitors such as NewerTech. I don't know if WiebeTech is the industry leader in this professional category, but they make outstanding gear that is priced fairly and is supported by rapid and reliable customer service. UltraDock v4 is all metal, and has the requisite LEDs that would make any science teacher grin from ear to ear. My personal and review units occasionally need to be repaired or replaced, as will yours. Response time and results are always satisfactory.

MyMac tested an UltraDock v4 with and without several of the newest v4 Combo Adapters, using each of the possible port connections. FireWire 800 remains our optimal favorite for use with most Macintosh computers. Two of our evaluation v4 Combo Adapters appeared to be defective. WiebeTech replaced them immediately, and made certain the newer adapters were fully functional. Product development is ongoing, meaning the company is always working on better ways to deliver efficient hardware solutions. You may find that a replacement item is slightly different than the original one, which in this case has always meant it has been improved during the interlude.

The v4 Combo Adapters I use most often in real life are for pre-SATA laptop internal IDE/PATA drives, camera storage cards, and internal iPod drives. The aforementioned adapter set includes equipment to connect speedily all the above to an UltraDock v4. The physical rig looks weird, but works like a charm.

An UltraDock with or without an adapter is not elegant, and will never win any Apple Design Awards. Technicians are comfortable using such equipment, and don't think twice about swapping internal drives and their exposed circuitry hour after hour, day after day. Techies make mistakes just like normal people do, but WiebeTech's v4 UltraDock and Combo Adapters usually won't themselves cause careless errors.

Many of you will have exposed internal computer or iPod/iPhone drives in your lives, even if you are not the slightest bit interested in mounting them on a computer using a drive dock. Don't simply smash your old faithful drive, or toss it into the dumpster, or give it a nice warm bath, or leave it sitting on a dusty shelf. Work with a technician who will erase or repartition it, and then will either use it him/herself for bench testing, or will encourage you to put it to good use for additional storage. WiebeTech can provide cover plates to protect the guts of internal drives and make them almost bulletproof-handy for a life out of the box. Our MyMac rating of WiebeTech's v4 UltraDock and Combo Adapters is 4.5 out of 5. This equipment is essential for serious technical work on internal drives of every possible flavor. Using UltraDock with or without an adapter, external drives mount on a Mac quickly, without any nasty or annoying error messages most of the time. If your tech bench qualifies for a superior array of handy drive mounting hardware, the modest price of this dock and its adapters is a bargain. Strong recommendation.

I had a Wiebetech "Combodock" before this one to connect my external (IDE) hard drives. That one has died in less than two years due to some internal burn-out. Hopefully this will last longer... it also offers more connectivity options not only giving me IDE connectivity but SATA as well. SATA drives are now cheaper.

I deal with a lot of video and other digital media files through my work and need to store terabytes of data AND have them backed up. Internal hard drives still offer the most cost effective storage and quick access to these files. Problem with external drives is THEIR storage, it quickly piles up into an ugly mess in your office. Internal bare drives can be labeled, stacked and neatly stored on the shelf. Nowadays 1TB drives can be bought for around $100.

My only complaint is the cost at nearly $200. That's almost 2TB worth of drives. So if you don't need that much and swapping that many drives it almost doesn't make sense.

Note: an adapter and all cables are bundled into the product box: FW800, FW400, USB and SATA. This info was missing from the Amazon product page and I needlessly bought a SATA cable to connect to the dock. Don't need to buy anything more, one will have all connectivity to whatever drive in the box.

It connected to my IPhone 3gs(v4) the first time and it gives you a unique 4 digit pin on the phone's screen each time you pair so you don't have to remember the code. This keyboard is the perfect size (just longer than a dollar bill); any smaller and it would be too small and any larger it wouldn't be as portable. The keys are only slightly smaller than a regular keyboard which means you can place both hands on the keys with the j and f home keys (big hands could be a problem). It take a little practice because there is no shift key on the right side so touch typers must remember to shift with the left. Most of the special keys (;-::"?) are Fn keys not in their normal locations but all of the alpha and numeric are standard. The Keys lack the slant found on the standard keyboard which take a little getting up to speed so don't expect 80 wpm out of the box it's a learning curve. Your techo friends will be green with envy.

Sweet little device I must say. Works exactly as you expect it to, but I was baffled the first few days of getting it because of Windows 7 Professional. After the first install and driver installation, Windows kept asking for a manufacturer provided "pairing" code. This is crazy because the device does not come with a code. Turns out the Windows prompt is simply misleading, all you have to do is make up a code, say, 0000, hit enter on your computer and then type the same code and hit enter on your bluetooth keyboard. Voila!

I should also add that the bluetooth dongle that comes with this device works with other bluetooth devices as well. I have already successfully hooked my 2 Nokia phones, 5800 & N900, and a Motorola wireless STEREO headset (yes A2DP) to the dongle and they all worked like a charm. Like some other reviewers have pointed out, typing and scrolling on this thing takes some getting used to. Recommended!

EDIT JAN 21, 2013, The device is still going strong. I used it with my Android Nexus 4 device while it was hooked to my HDTV. I can't believe how long this thing has served me.

Easy to setup after 4 digit type into iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 2G and iPad.

Play, pause and volume keys works fine for iOS device.

Good for windows XP note PC with USB Dongle, too.

Only and the biggest problem for me is command key missing.

I can not change English and other language input without it.

If you know how to do, please help me.

Anyway, over all impression is good.

Update: 2010/9/25

I found that Fn + T & Fn + Y can be used for language switch.

Now, problem is solved. I would recommend this to all.

Works well with android. The button arrangement could be a little better. Puts a mouse pointer on my Android screen.

I bought this keyboard to use with my PS3 (slim). Typing a message using the PS3 controller is a pain. This little keyboard makes it easy. Plus it's small enough that it doesn't get in the way if you leave it on the end table when not in use.

Pairing the keyboard with the PS3 was simple. Just select the "scan for bluetooth devices" menu option and hit the recessed button on the bottom of the keyboard. Then type in the number and hit enter.

It also has an on/off switch on the bottom so the batteries won't drain when it's not in use.

I use this for a Media center pc, was tired of full size keyboard taking space in the living room. This works very well as a replacement if you do primarily internet searches.

The thumb pad is of less value, when i do this over i will use a keyboard similar to this without the pad, and a seperate mouse. works well, just not in my application.

button press reaction is poor, range is poor, battery life is bad. If your buy this your a sucker. Word.

I bought this as a media center remote. Although I liked the feature of adding a keyboard to the other side, it's useless. The remote portion, once programmed, either won't send a command to a device or sends it 50 times after pressing a button once. The keyboard/mouse portion is usable, but the range is nowhere near what it says. After about 5 feet, you have to look up and make sure it's catching what you're typing (some of the letters you press won't register). Meanwhile, I can mash up 20 keys on a video game controller and not 1 press is missed. This type of issue is unacceptable in a device like this. Disconnected and thrown out. Not worth it.

I've tried a lot of these remotes, I love how this one has an ir learning function so that you can set it to different tasks, It is a good keyboard and mouse. I just wish it had more buttons, and had f8+ keys but its as good as it gets for 40bux prime.
