BoxWave mini Capacitive Alcatel Venture Stylus (Lunar Blue)

BoxWave mini Capacitive Alcatel Venture Stylus
  • Works on all capacitive touch screens
  • Conveniently designed to attach to your Alcatel Venture via the 3.5mm headset jack
  • Perfect for cold days when you don't want to remove your gloves
  • Available in: Jet Black, Metallic Silver, Crimson Red, or Lunar Blue color

Ironically, I dropped my phone on a concrete driveway hours after receiving my Armor Case from Boxwave. The case popped open and my phone was badly scratched. So much for armor...

I contacted Boxwave and they sent an unitelligible email:

Please specify how you would like to proceed with your Armor Case. The situation you described is not conducive to isolating elements outside of the user's control that resulted in damage to your device due to defections in the Armor Case.

Can anyone translate that last sentence?

I asked for my money back four (4) times and they never responded. BEWARE of this company.

Really liked this product when first tried (son had another at college near major city). At our rural home, I had problems with partial/complete signal loss which was solved by removing phone from case when loss was apparent. This problem made the case useless at home and not what I wanted when making the purchase. I hope to find a remedy to this situation.

PDair Leather Case for BlackBerry Torch 9810 - Book Type (White)

PDair Leather Case for BlackBerry Torch 9810 - Book TypeI was pleasantly surprised that the case arrived much sooner than I expected. I like that it is made of a quality leather, and that my phone fits snugly and tightly in the case. I've been testing it to see if it will fall out, but so far it hasn't. The best thing about this case is that you can answer your phone while still in the case. In the past I've missed calls because I had trouble getting it out of the case. Also, when closed it preserves battery life. Great case!

GMYLE (TM) Wireless Handheld 5 Button Rechargeable Trackball Mouse for PC Computer Laptop Notebook w

GMYLE Wireless Handheld 5 Button Rechargeable Trackball Mouse for PC Computer Laptop Notebook with Laser Pointer PresenterBought this to replace my presenter mouse that slipped out of my hand and shattered in to many pieces.

The mouse is good, though I have yet to figure out how or if I can reprogram some of the buttons.

Also, the range is about 20ft, so good for lecture hall and stage style presenting, but not so much if you like to present from the back of the room.

I use a trackball and this is good for traveling or when desk space is limited. I like the adjustability of resolution. I inserted the USB dongle, charged the unit and it worked right awat.

Fosmon Extended Battery 2100 mah for Palm Treo 680, Treo 680v, Treo 720, Treo 750v (with battery doo

Fosmon Extended Battery 2100 mah for Palm Treo 680, Treo 680v, Treo 720, Treo 750vThis battery is perfect for those long work days or trips. With the standard battery I would have to charge my Treo 680 every night with this battery now I charge it every other day. I recommend this product to those looking for a longer lasting battery for Palm Treos.

This is a package deal with a larger battery and a new plastic back to accommodate the larger battery. The battery is of good quality and will hold a charge much longer than the thin battery used in the 680. In fact it is the same battery used in the 650 so if you moved up to the 680 from the 650 just use the 650 battery. The new back is a slightly different matter. It is of much thinner plastic. Just slightly heaver than the plastic show through packaging used for many electronic equipment. It is not a smooth a fit and tends to fall off. It is hard to lock into place and even if you take extra time and attention in locking it on the phone it still tends of jar loose and fall off in the holster or your pocket. On long trips especially when I am using the radio or pod cast feature and the 680 battery dies I just take the back off and put the larger 650 battery in and I do not even bother with the flimsy easily jarred loose from back.

At first I was not so sure about the quality of the battery, but overall now I am quite convinced. It works perfectly and, indeed, it has a little more life than the original one, but it is not that different, hence only 4 stars. I would have liked that it lasted longer. I have a Hx 2495 and also a 2795 and it works well with both models. But there are some minor issues, at first the Ipaq does not refresh correctly the charge of the battery. It took me a few soft resets to get it right. Now it seems to work fine, although the charge from 98% to 100% could be tricky sometimes.

When my HP IPAQ died, I thought it was over. It would not take a charge. I ordered a replaacement battery on Amazon, it came when they said it would, and I installed it. After charging it up, my PDA came on and worked perfectly. Now days few things works as advertised. This did and I'm happy with it. Cecil

The battery I purchased for my iPAQ was scheduled to be delivered 3 weeks after purchase. I was delighted to receive it 10 days after my order processed. Since I'm in Afghanistan and use my PDA extensively due to high travel demands, I needed to get the battery ASAP. I'm very pleased with the product. I have yet to run the battery down so I really don't know how long it will maintain a charge. However, it's more than long enough for my use.

Krusell Multidapt - Car Holder for Swivel Clip (58117)

Krusell Multidapt - Car Holder for Swivel ClipI recently bought my first GPS unit, the Tom Tom One, and quickly found out that mounting it on the windshield is illegal in the state of California. So, out goes the suction cup holder, which was flimsy and mounted it too far from my reach anyway.

I tried using velcro, which worked okay, but the GPS unit was wobbly and hard to use. I'd have to take it off, input the location then stick it back on.

The Krusell Carholdic Kit, in addition to the Krusell Phoneholdic Kit, was the perfect solution to mounting the Tom Tom on my dashboard. I can't stress enough how well it works.

The Krusell Carholdic Kit is the mount that goes on the dashboard. It's the female half, whereas the Krusell Phoneholdic Kit is the male half. You stick the Cardholdic mount on your dashboard, which looks like it should be there and has a sturdy feel. You just peel the backing off and stick it on.

The Phoneholdic Kit contains the mount that sticks to the back of the GPS unit. Peel and stick then use either the round Swivel knob or the MiniClip by snapping it in place (both come with the Phoneholdic Kit). I used the MiniClip because it provides the best hold.

You're done!

You've made your Tom Tom into a portable unit that can clip on your belt or onto the Carholdic mount on your dashboard. It looks and works great!

SanDisk is the only brand of flashcard, in my experience, with using them for my embroidery machine. They always retain all of the designs I have downloaded on them & this brand of flashcard ALWAYS works in my embroidery machine. I have had trouble with other brands including losing 100 designs on one card! Recently, I tried formatting a different brand for my embroidery machine & it would not take it. SanDisk is definitely a cut above the rest!

HGST Travelstar 2.5 Inch 500GB 7200 RPM SATA II 16 MB Cache Internal Hard Drive (0S02858)

HGST Travelstar 2.5 Inch 500GB 7200 RPM SATA II 16 MB Cache Internal Hard Drive
  • Internal 2.5 hard drive for your laptop
  • More unplugged computing time to keep you working at peak performance no matter where you are - in the office or on the road
  • Delivers the perfect balance of capacity, ruggedness and low power consumption
  • Patent-pending technologies add reliability in non-stop computing environments
  • Built in Hitachi's halogen-free production environment

I bought this Hitachi Travelstar 2.5 500GB 7200 rpm hard drive to replace my 13" Macbook Pro (160GB) 2009. With some help from Ron(previous reviewer) and my brother-in-law, I was able to install it and now it is running perfectly. I notice this drive run faster and more quiet than my previous 160GB drive. My last drive also run very hot after an hour of use, I guess because of Aperture 3 and other photo editing softwares, but with this Travelstar, it is much cooler. I am happy with my purchase and will do it again if I have to. My next and final step is to install 4GB RAM into my 13" Macbook Pro.

Hope this helps!

used this drive to replace the 160GB drive on a 2008 aluminum MacBook. The hardware portion of the upgrade was very easy and straightforward. I did have to reinstall OSX from scratch. Startup time of the laptop is significantly shorter than before, but it can be partially due to the fresh OSX install. It has been up and running for 2 weeks, so it is too early to comment on reliability. The thing that annoys me is that this drive is significantly noisier than the original Toshiba. There is a constant noise that resemble a fan noise (not the clicking noise that present when drive is reading/writing). I had the laptop running without the battery cover to expose the hard drive, using both the old and new drive, and confirmed that the noise is from the new drive and not the exhaust fan of the laptop. This noise is constantly present, even when there is no hard drive activity. However, I have to put it in perspective. The original Toshiba is SILENT when idle, so this new drive is obviously noisier than that. But it is not noticeable in a normal office environment. It is, however, very noticeable if it is at a quiet home and within typing distance.

This is a fast, quiet and reliable Travelstar 7K500 drive in new retail packaging. Label on my drive indicates P/N: 0A72335 and my system enumerates drive as "HTS725050A9A364." Seems Hitachi markets these drives with various item numbers including: HD20500IDK/7K, 0S00157, H2IK5001672SP and 0S02858. I have three different retail boxes purchased over the past year or so and while they do have different item numbers they all contained drives with P/N: 0A72335. The packaging shown above seems to be the latest as of Aug-2010.

UPDATE: Sometime during the summer of 2011 Hitachi began shipping 500GB advanced format 7K750 drives in the same packaging as drives noted above and labeled with the same part number: 0S02858. Good news is that a 750GB, 7200RPM model is now available. Bad news is that older OS's and some cloning software may not "align" sectors properly for good performance. Hitachi offers an Align Tool on their web site to address this issue. I have no experience with these new advanced format drives, but felt I should update my review in light of recent changes to the product line.

I purchased this drive to replace a 150GB Hitachi drive in my MacBookPro. As soon as my MBP was out of warranty I wanted to upgrade since the original drive was full and was slowing me down. The replacement was super easy following the directions on FixYa.

The drive has made a huge difference in my MBP. Startup is faster, programs load faster, plus I have ample storage now. The 7,200 RPM makes a huge difference over the original drive. The new drive is quiet and works like expected.

Firstly, readers should know that I haven't yet tested this hard drive (HD). I have bought it last week from Amazon, but haven't opened it yet as I am currently debating whether to use this HD or return it in favor of another one (I am strongly considering the Western Digital Scorpio Black). I had to include a rating for this comment to be posted; I wanted to post this comment despite not actually testing this HD (0S02858) as it supports the comments of another reviewer, Ron, and, I think, provides some important information for those looking for a notebook PC internal hard drive and considering Hitachi among their options. I initially bought this HD to replace the recentlydeceased HD in my Dell M1330 notebook PC based on a strong recommendation from an acquaintance on a notebook PC forum. The acquaintance actually recommended the Hitachi 7K500 500GB 7200RPM HD, but Amazon apparently did not carry that particular model. However, one of the previous reviewers, Ron, wrote in the comments section that this HD (0S02858) is actually the 7K500 and in fact Hitachi sells several HDs with different model numbers that are actually relabeled 7K500 HDs. After I purchased this HD, I found some information at another dealer that suggested this HD (0S02858) is a different model than the 7K500. I emailed Hitachi last week asking about this situation and received a very brief response that the 0S02858 is different from the 7K500.

As you may have noticed, Amazon sells 3 (at time of this writing; the number seems to vary over time) Hitachi 500GB 7200RPM notebook PC HDs with different model numbers, but otherwise seem identical. Again, Amazon does not seem to sell the 7K500. The Hitachi website lists only two HD models that are 500GB and 7200RPM, and none of the aforementioned three models. I emailed Hitachi again today after receiving their first reply and asked specifically if the three Hitachi HD models sold by Amazon (listed below, as well as in my 2nd email query to Hitachi) were indeed different from the 7K500 or if they were the same HD relabeled and repackaged. Within 2 hours, I received a 2nd, more detailed response from a Hitachi representative, "Art". I copied below his reply, and below it, listed the 4 Hitachi HD models (including the 7K500, bottom of the list) that I specifically listed in my email query:

"Hello Kenneth,

Thank You for contacting Hitachi GST Technical Support.

They are all essentially the same model and all carry our 3-year warranty, however

the part and model number mostly differ due to changes in retail packaging or possible firmware differences. You should expect the same performance and experience out of all of them. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

Best Regards,

In short, Hitachi has verified Ron's assertion that this Hitachi HD (0S02858) is the same as the 7K500 and that several other Hitachi models are also the 7K500 relabeled and repackaged.

For what I paid for it, I really like this case. I bought it for my Asus 1015-PX, actually, and while it does not fit completely snug, it's adequate for my computer. One thing to keep in mind is that it's just a sleeve, so it's not the most protective case in the world. But if you're just looking for some basic protection at a low price, not a bad case to go with!

Its a sleeve, works just fine. Zipper seems to stick a little bit but all in all, it does what its supposed to, protects the computer! Holds USB sticks and a mouse along with a power cord for the computer without being too overstuffed, but the zipper is hesitant to close with all that inside.

JAVOedge Editor Flip Case for Barnes & Noble Nook Color / Nook Tablet

JAVOedge Editor Flip Case for Barnes & Noble Nook Color / Nook Tablet
  • Magnetic closure offers hassle-free accessibility to Barnes & Nobles Nook Color
  • Interior lining is made of soft material to prevent scratches
  • Case kickstand to prop up for hands-free reading
  • Interior pockets for storing business cards, papers
  • Non-leather material is animal friendly!

Overall, this is a very nice case. I'm very pleased with my purchase of it. It does what it is meant to do, and does it well. There are just a few small design flaws that I can't help but notice, and I wish to share them with others so that they can make an informed purchase. In no way do I feel these flaws hurt the product.

Pros:

* High quality feel

* For the most part, the NookColor doesn't move when it's in the case (more on that later)

* Easy access to all buttons

* Extra holding space in the top flap is nice, though not very useful (again, more on that later)

Cons:

* The space for holding notes and business cards is not very useful I've found. While I can slip a piece or two of paper into it, anything more than that and it starts to get awkward to use, and things fall out when you have the cover flipped backwards to use the Nook. Along with that, the business card slot on mine seems a bit loose, and things have a tendency to slide around in there. This may be a flaw with only my case, or may be a flaw in the product line, I do not know. Regardless, it's an issue with mine, and something to keep in mind if you intend to buy this case with the intention to use those areas.

* The Nook is held nicely in the case when it's closed, but it slides a bit when you have it opened up. This seems to be due to the fact that the Nook is held in place simply by leather, which it naturally glides along easily. There have been numerous times, when holding my Nook in landscape mode, that it has slide out of the case a bit when I'm using it. This generally happens when I'm surfing the internet and have to move my hands around a lot to type. It's not generally an issue, as a slight nudge and it's back in place, but it's something to consider.

* This last thing is more of a personal issue than anything, but when using the stand I feel that the Nook is angled too far upward. I would prefer that the Nook stands slightly more vertically, as it's angled a bit too far back for me personally. Others may prefer it the way it is however.

Buy JAVOedge Editor Flip Case for Barnes & Noble Nook Color / Nook Tablet Now

Grippy feeling from the textured case easy to grasp.

Looks very sharp.

Nook color fits in the case very well, tight enough, but not too tight that you can't remove it. If you open the top flap and flip it upside down, it stays in the case. If you shake it a little, it slides right out. Perfect.

Stand works excellent. Snaps keep it shut when you want but is easy to snap open. Stays out of the way when closed very well nice and snug to back of case, so no accidental opening of the stand is likely.

All ports exposed and easily accessible.

Magnetic clasp on the front holds it shut well.

Top folds back easily for reading / tablet use / etc and doesn't look like it will get creases or anything.

Small cut out in rear panel for the NC speaker, under the stand, so you can hear the speaker when the stand is open.

Minor Cons:

When the stand is snapped shut, the sound is muffled to some extent. Not fatally, but noticeably. When the stand is open, I think it actually sounds better / louder (I think the sound is bouncing off the stand a little). A small cutout in the stand seems like it would have helped with this.

Could have done without the card holder/ flap on the top. That's just my preference though.

Quick update: I tried this case out on my e-ink Nook, and it fits pretty well tighter than the Nook color so the frame around the screen sticks out a tiny bit but definitely workable. In case anyone is wondering.

I must have looked at 50 different Nook Color cases, either in person at Barnes & Noble or Staples, or on line. I must have read most all of their reviews on Amazon. Fortunately, the expenditure of all that time proved to have been worth it. The flip case that arrived is protective, well-stitched, attractive, and stands up well. I could have paid a lot more than the $18 it cost with shipping and been no more satisfied.

USB Optical Laser Barcode Scanner

USB Optical Laser Barcode Scanner
  • Better Shock-Proofing and Durability: New patented Optical Laser Technology integrates a fixed optical lens; instead of traditional vibrating & rotating mirrors, which are very fragile. this new technology improves shock absorption and enhances durability
  • Superior Scanning Performance: The NuScan 3200 supports scan fields as wide as 6 inches and 16 inches deep, scanning at a rate of 80 scans per second
  • Less Harmful to your Eyes: By using a fixed expanding laser light, the NuScan 3200 is less harmful to your eyes than traditional barcode scanners
  • Low Power Consumption: Running on an Operating Current of only 80mA at 5v DC, the NuScan 3200 uses approximately 35% less energy than traditional Laser barcode scanners
  • Less Electromagnetic Interference: The Patented Optical Laser Technology reduces electromagnetic interference, reducing the chance of signals getting skipped and misread

As the title of my post says this is my first bar-code scanner purchase. I've wanted one for awhile but couldn't justify the purchase as I would only be using it for cataloging and keeping track of my movie, music and book collections. I use 2 different programs for my movie collection and 1 program for my music and book collections.

As a movie fan-atic I buy a lot of movies (mostly blu-ray and some dvds that I don't think will be released any time soon if ever on blu-ray). It seems all the applications for collectors use the UPC code to add titles to your collections. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be and often I get the numbers out of order or just wrong and it becomes a long process just to list the titles by UPC manually.

So, I did a lot of researching of bar-code scanners. There are a lot of them at prices that are very inexpensive to expensive and a whole lot in between.

I usually rely on what others have experienced with a particular product especially when I don't know all that much about it myself and more often than not it pays off.

This bar-code scanner installed without a problem on my Dell laptop. Windows 7 found the driver so I didn't need a setup disc. And even better the scanner worked perfectly right out of the box. And it is a huge help when entering a lot of titles in a short period of time. For my movie collection I use both DVD Profiler and Movie Collectorz programs. I prefer the Collectorz.com application but I like the ability to have my collection available on a web page so I also use DVD Profiler.

As I've said, this scanner makes adding movies, music, etc a breeze and I can add them fast so I'm not spending hours as I did before.

This bar-code scanner works perfectly every time. Totally accurate and it reads every bar-code even a few that had some sticky stuff over the code on certain upc codes and some that had a small hole in the upc code.

I've very happy with this purchase and I think anyone looking for a good scanner that is a mid-range priced one should consider this one.

Hewlett Packard Jornada 568 Pocket PC

Hewlett Packard Jornada 568 Pocket PC
  • Color Pocket PC with 64 MB of RAM with Microsoft's Pocket PC 2002 operating
  • Built-in CompactFlash slot lets you add memory, accessories
  • Vibrant 16-bit color display provides clear view indoors and out
  • Store and edit data, browse the Internet, check e-mail with powerful Pocket PC applications
  • What's in the box: Jornada 568, Stylus, rechargeable lithium-polymer battery, CR-2032 backup battery, AC adapter, USB cradle, Jornada Quick Start Guide, Documentation pack, Pocket PC Companion CD

The original HP Jornada Pocket PC's were easily outclassed by Compaq and Casio's models, but HP's engineers have redeemed themselvesand surpassed the competitionwith the new Pocket PC 2002 versions: the Jornada 565 and 568. (The only difference between the two is RAM, with the 568 having 64Mb to the 565's 32Mb.)

These new models have the superior display and speed of the competitors products, but easily top the Compaq with built-in CF card expansion and replaceable, rechargable batteries that have longer life spans than the iPAQ. The included flip-up cover is also a plus and makes the Jornada the lightest weight and slimmest Pocket PC available with both screen protection and CF expansion built-in.

HP also thoughtfully provided a way for users to store up to 8Mb of data or programs in the secure FlashROM, assuring the security of vital material.

Besides the Microsoft Pocket PC software suite, HP's bundled software includes Code Wallet Pro and the versitile OmniSolve calculator as well as HP's own image viewer. This viewer is the best I've tried on any Pocket PC. My favorite bundled program though has to be Mobile Conversay. This easy-to-use program allows you to talk to your Jornada and receive spoken responses. Mobile Conversay will read your calendar to you, tell you the date and time, check your battery life, start and stop programs and more.

The Jornada 565/568 are easily the top of the new crop of Pocket PC's.

Although the new iPaqs are sure to generate a lot of hype, HP is hoping they can gather a much larger share of the Pocket PC market with the new Jornada 560 family.

Size:

The Jornada 560 is about the same size as the 540 and 520, slightly less wide but the same height. The BIG change is in the weight my old Jornada 548 weighed 9.1 ounces, and the 565/567 weighs 3 ounces less at 6.1 ounces. It doesn't sound like much, but this device doesn't try to pull my Dockers down like the old one did! The difference in size is obviously due to the new 3.5" display, which seems to make the screen a bit sharper than its larger competitor, the iPaq.

I love the screen cover on the Jornada 560 series you don't need to have a separate carrying case for the device! With my iPaq, I needed a carrying case to protect the screen. With the Jornada, I can close the cover and jam it into my pocket without worrying about scratching the display. HP devices always feel like they're well built, and the Jornada 560 is no exception.

The Jornada feels very good in the hand. I like the rubberized sides of the device, as I feel like I always have a good grip on it. When I was taking my iPaq with me to work every day on the light rail, I was always feeling like I was going to have it slip out of my hand onto the floor. It was also wider and wasn't as easy to hold. With the CF sleeve on it (hey, I always have to have my eBooks and music!) the iPaq was also much thicker and heavier.

Functionality:

The 560 series uses a new display that's smaller than that used in the previous generation of Pocket PCs, measuring up at 3.5 inches diagonally instead of 3.8 inches. This reflective TFT display is also much clearer and well defined due to a .216 dot pitch the older displays had a .24 dot pitch. With Microsoft ClearType and the Jornada display, everything's easy to read. Outside, this display is even sharper than the iPaq's.

I've gone for many days using the device with backlight a lot, and still have had battery power to spare. The 560 has a replaceable lithium polymer battery pack, so you can have several charged packs on hand. There's a backup battery stored in a tiny slot on the side of the device, so if your battery DOES happen to croak, you won't lose all your data.

HP will soon be shipping an extended life battery pack that will be a bit thicker, but doubles the estimated battery life to 28 hours! In January of 2002, HP should ship a battery pack with a built-in MMC memory slot. This means that you could pop an MMC card into the battery pack to store data and still have a wide-open CF slot.

There's one nice feature in the 560 called "HP Safe Store". It's an 8 MB ROM area that allows users to install applications, store documents and make emergency backups of their data. If the battery dies and the Jornada RAM is erased, this data remains intact! I've installed critical apps into this area, saving my system memory and CF card space for more important data.

Expandability:

IPaq users love to point out that HP Jornada Pocket PCs don't support Compact Flash Type II cards only Type I. This limits the Jornada, since you can't use the IBM Microdrive for mass storage, or use some of the 802.11b wireless cards that have hit the market. However, Socket Communications' 802.11b card DOES work in the Type I slot of the Jornada 560 series.

If you're considering an iPaq so you can have extra expandability, don't HP will provide more expansion options soon! In December 2001, you can buy a PC Card Adapter, an extended battery pack with SD/MMC slot and a mini-thumb pocket keyboard. These expansion options will clip into the battery compartment or will use a sleeve (like the iPaq).

Value:

HP provides a lot for the price. The Jornada 568 is very compact, there is a wonderfully clear color display, you have the HP Safe Store ROM, and removable lithium polymer battery packs so I feel that the Jornada 560 series is well worth the cost. I've had people gasp at the price of most Pocket PCs, but when I show them that this device is really a contender to replace a laptop PC they seem to think that it is a bargain.

Conclusion:

My overall feelings about the HP Jornada 560 Series Pocket PC can be summed up as follows:

· It's extremely easy to carry in all situations and very well built

· It has very few flaws, other than the speaker pop that will most likely be fixed with a ROM patch

· The added applications are very useful and even a bit fun!

· The 206 MHz StrongARM CPU, the new Pocket PC 2002 OS, and the sharp reflective TFT display make for a fast and very usable Pocket PC

Ever since my first HP calculator back in the late 1970s, I've had a love affair with HP devices. They are always a little bit pricey, but are very well built. The Jornada 560 series is no exception to this long history, and I think that it'll be able to make some serious inroads to the current domination of the Pocket PC market by the Compaq iPaq. I do wish that HP would lower the price about $100 that would seal the fate of the iPaq. If you don't have any Type II Compact Flash cards and want a fast, expandable, and very pocketable PDA, the Jornada 560 is the way to go.

I bought my HP Jornada 568 on February 1, and waited more than two months in order to write a review not guided by the emotion of having such an wonderful invention the firsts days, but by the funcionality of the device. And I must tell that it is extremely useful.

The display is excellent, as with everything on this pocket PC. It works very fast even when almost every application is open; the design is so slim and light that is a pleasure to carry your Jornada everywhere; I think that is one of the most elegant designs in the market also.

The sound, with headphones, is excellent for music, even when it is obvious that listening through the tiny built-in speaker is not the best way to get the best sound quality.

The navigation through the internet is very good, but you must be aware that the effect in some pages is like if you were passing a magnifying glass over a book's page, because most of the internet pages do not exactly "fit to screen" (this also happens with large Excel files or complex Word documents), but even with that detail that is not inherent to the Jornada but to all Pocket PC's, is very useful and clear, because you can increase the size of the text in the page in order to a comfortable reading.

If you also plan to receive e-mail in your Pocket PC, the new operative system allows to receive HTML direct from the Internet, because it converts it to text format automatically, and that was a mayor flaw of the preceding OS.

The Word and Excel documents can be edited or created with easiness, given the multiple input choices the OS has to offer.

I highly recommend a Compact Flash Card of at least 128MB. This is not only for file storage, but to install the programs of your Jornada within the Storage Card and leting almost all the RAM for the applications preinstalled so you can get your device to run extra fast. The only flaw with this is that if you are using a CompactModem or CompactLAN in order to connect to the Internet, the programs that are installed in the CF card will not be available at the moment of navigation because the expansion slot will be already in use.

If you never had owned a Pocket PC, another recomendation is the Pocket PC Handbook, by Dan Hanttula. It is more than worth the price.

Overall, if you are planning to buy a Pocket PC and are not sure about which one to chose, do not hesitate anymore and pick the HP Jornada 568. You will be more than pleased and surely will write a review from your Pocket PC.

Accesories I own and recomend: Targus Stowaway Keyboard, Targus PDA/Keyboard Combo Case (Leather) (only if you use the keyboard very often), Viking CF card 128MB, Pretec's CompactModem and CompactLan (the Support Service from Pretec is superb) and the Pocket PC Handbook, by Hanttula.

This device will end the iPaq's top spot for Pocket PC's. This is smaller, and feels great in your hand..Nice rubberized grips around the edges. Protective cover makes it a breeze to pop into your shirt pocket or trousers. Removable/swappable battery allows for extended life away from your cradle. I can go on and on. Having owned the ipaq and Palm devices, I can say this is surely the best device on the market HP did it right.

Being the techno-nerd that I am I purchased a Jornada 568 as soon as they became available in the fall of 2001. I owned a HP Jornada 548 and had no true business justification for the upgrade but my credit card wouldn't stay in my wallet. This being said I am glad that I made the plunge.

There are many positive sides to this unit and the new Pocket PC operating system over its predecessor. First, the screen is far clearer and brighter then previous HP displays. The screen is crisp and easy to read in sunlight. The screen is very comparable to the Ipaq screen. The removable battery pack is a big time bonus. I can purchase a spare or buy an extended pack which has a built in smart media slot. WOW! The top load compact flash slot is once again another advantage over the Ipaq. With the type I compact flash support built in there is no need for ungainly sleeves. Even better, and the reason I went with the HP, is that the Jornada 540 series accessories for the most part work with the 560 series. The keyboard, camera, modem and many other devices work great on the 560 and in many cases the drivers are built into the new unit. As far as the new operating system goes it is fun and some features are a plus but it is not a major upgrade. The build in transcriber is nice and spell check and word count is nice in MS Word but not revolutionary.

On the negative side I would list two things. First HP did not make screen protectors available for this unit which means we have to purchase from a third party vendor. As much as people complained about the 540 series hard plastic protectors I liked them and wish they were available for the 560 series. The screen is smaller so the sheets don't work without trimming. Secondly, the price may not be unreasonable for what you get but it is pushing the envelope. The unit provides most laptop functions with the purchase of keyboard and networking accessories. On the other hand after you purchase everything you could have purchased a very nice laptop for the same price. The price of the unit is enough to make worry a bit about carrying it around.

Overall a great unit that I am pleased with and do not regret purchasing...

Tripp Lite B006-VUA4-K-R 4-Port KVM Switch with Audio, OSD and Peripheral Sharing

Tripp Lite B006-VUA4-K-R 4-Port KVM Switch with Audio, OSD and Peripheral Sharing
  • Control up to 4 computers from a single monitor, keyboard and mouse
  • Package includes (x2) 4 ft. and (x2) 6 ft. USB + Audio KVM cable kits (for longer length cables, choose Tripp Lite's P756-010 or P757-010)
  • Built-in 2-Port USB 2.0 hub allows USB peripherals to be shared amongst computers connected via USB KVM cable kits
  • Constructed of heavy-duty steel housing
  • Compatible with all major operating systems
  • 1 Year Limited Warranty
  • Control up to 4 USB or PS/2 computers from a single monitor, keyboard and mouse
  • Includes a built-in 2-Port USB 2.0 hub for sharing of devices amongst computers connected with a USB KVM cable kit
  • Package includes 4 USB + Audio KVM cable kits

Features, lots. All kinds of configuration options. Seems to do everything reliably. Has rack mount ears you can attach and that makes it easy to screw it underneath a shelf so it isn't just flapping around. Comes with 4 cables but the longest is 6 feet and that's not as long as it sounds. I had to rearrange a couple CPUs to make it fit.

The bad thing. Video resolution and contrast is NOTICEABLY worse with the KVM installed and a lot worse than the Trendnet 2-port I'm replacing. Have not decided whether I want to return it yet. Too expensive to have that kind of problem with only 4 feet of cable.

Mini Wireless Keyboard with Mouse Touchpad

Mini Wireless Keyboard with Mouse Touchpad
  • 3-in-1 multimedia wireless keyboard (Keyboard, TouchPad, Laser pointer)
  • Built-in rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery, charges via any standard USB port.
  • 2.4GHz USB wireless receiver, works up to 30 feet away.
  • LED backlit keys.

My first unit arrived and after trying to connect to 3 different PC's it would not work on any of them. The RF transceiver installed properly when plugged into the systems, but the keyboard would never establish a connection with it. I tried the troubleshooting to allow it to change to a different channel and reconnect, but the light would just continue to blink and never connect. I returned the unit and Amazon was very fast in crediting my account. I ordered a second unit the same day, but have still not received it. The order was placed on 7/14 via Prime 2 day shipping and it is now 7/18 and it is still showing "In Transit". It looks like I will probably get it tomorrow, but that is a far cry from 2 day shipping. There are a few other listings on Amazon for this exact same item and my recommendation would be to avoid this seller. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the prompt return and refund. I will update once I have my second unit and know if it is functional.

BTW... I am an IT professional with over 15 years experience working on computers.

Buy Mini Wireless Keyboard with Mouse Touchpad Now

Plug-and-play works fine. My desktop PC, laptop, and my Android Minix G4 had no trouble using this keyboard combo. The keyboard, itself, is fine.

The reception to the USB dongle receiver has extremely limited range. The keyboard also sends repeat key-presses to the computer while you're typing so you have to press each button very quickly.

The small form-factor is very nice. I keep it available since the touch pad is fairly decent. It -usuallyrealizes you are using it.

some key of the keyboard and wrong and the mouse pad is not good doing the mouse events fire when not need to do nothing

Want Mini Wireless Keyboard with Mouse Touchpad Discount?

I needed a wireless keyboard and mouse for a machine and did not have a lot of room to work with. This device is not much bigger than a remote and fit all of my requirements.

This key board is trash. I bought it for a Home Media PC. Sitting less than 8 feet away from the receiver it barely picks up half the key presses. To use it, you literally have to press the key hard, look to the screen to see if the letter has actually been received, and then do it again. And even with this level of care, almost one third of the key presses do nothing. The track pad is sloppy, and requires a great deal of force to even get a response. The only thing that seems to work is the laser. So, if you plan on buying this for a presentation, you can at least use the laser to blind your audience to distract them from your inability to accomplish anything else.

Lighted keyboard? Not really, a dim only on half the key board that shines out through the edges around the keys. Not lighted in a useful way.

Basically a piece of trash, waste of money.
