I have an old Microsoft Natural Multimedia keyboard I'm very attached to. Sadly, my new computer does not have a PS2 port, so I bought this so I could still connect it.

Big problem: It's slow. I set my keyboard delay to the smallest value possible, but it still doesn't work with this adapter. Press if you press and hold a key, it pauses, stutters, the goes. I'm going to have to replace this item as it does not let me scroll or navigate smoothly and quickly with my keyboard.

As many have pointed out, this is the only model that works well with IOgear's line of KVMs that are PS2-only models. I ordered several to have my 4 port KVM (the green one with the 4 cables built in). One of them turned out to be defective. The symptom was the computer reporting it as an unknown device. Amazon replaced it promptly at their expense, and all is well.

This is yet another PS/2 to USB adapter that drops special characters, when that key is held down. "CTRL-P" to move up a line in emacs, starts spewing 'p' characters into my document..

This IOGear is, to date, the worst offender I've tried, dropping my CTRL char within a few seconds of holding down the key. Highly unacceptable for this emacs lover!

This thing is going back, and I'll be sticking with the Adesso ADP-PU21 that I borrowed from work, which works significantly better for me -it's had one hiccup in a week for me, versus IOGear which hiccups within 5 minutes.

The interesting thing to note is that your mileage may vary. While the Adesso has been pretty darned stable for me, it sent my coworker's setup into fits after an hour or so of use. (it actually locked up his keyboard, lights flashing and everything)

And, looking at the IOGear reviews, most seem to think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread -and it's been the worst adapter I've tried!

So. Moral of the story, I guess, is to buy from a vendor that has an excellent return policy (like Amazon! :)

I'm using a Lenovo W510, a Lynksys 4-port powered KVM, with a PS/2 logitech keyboard, and a PS/2 MS Optical mouse -plugging the adapter into a USB 3.0 port on the laptop..

Aiptek PocketCinema V20 Portable Pico Projector with SD Slot and Built-In Media Player-Black

Aiptek PocketCinema V20 Portable Pico Projector with SD Slot and Built-In Media Player-Black
  • Weighs Less Than 6 Ounces
  • 15 Lumens; uniquely aesthetic touch-sensitive keypad
  • Projects Up to 42" Clearly
  • 2GB Built-In Memory and Integrated Media Player
  • 32GB Expandable SD Card Slot

The Aiptek Pocket Cinema V10 (The Old Model) Projects an image with sound. You can turn up the brightness to fill a fairly large screen in the dark. (They never told us that it can't operate very long without overheating)!

The Pocket Cinema V20 got it right this time. The picture is noticeably brighter with better color. Using a standard camera tripod I can throw a very acceptable picture onto a six foot screen. There is an internal menu for adjusting brightness, contrast, color saturation, etc. The best part is that after showing a full-length movie the projector remains cool enough not to cause any problems.

The controls have been redesigned with a flat illuminated touch panel to control the electronics (it takes some getting used to, but the sensitivity is adjustable), a real switch to power the unit on and off, and a very good remote control. The battery can now be left in the unit without overcharging when using the AC adaptor.

Using the included adaptor cables you can connect any standard video source (RCA connectors), or use the internal memory (2GB) or add an SDHC memory card. However, unlike the V10+, the projector

Kodak P811BK 8x10 Personal Photo and Negative Scanner

Kodak P811BK 8x10 Personal Photo and Negative Scanner
  • Scan any printed photo from wallet size to 8x10 inches
  • Scans photographic negatives and delivers crisp, clear positive image ready for upload, printing or emailing
  • Scanner has a 5-in-1 card reader and ships with a 4 GB MicroSD Card and SD adapter to make sure you have plenty of space to hold your photos
  • Scans printed photos at high resolution 600 DPI (selectable to 300 DPI)
  • Ultra portable and battery powered with 4 AAA batteries (not included) allow you to take the P811 where you go

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this small photo scanner. I have literally 1000's of photos from years and years of family photos, trips, candid moments, heirlooms, etc. that have begun to fade, turn pink or become brittle with age. So I was anxious to find something that would allow me to quickly scan in my huge photo and negative collection giving me good color and pixel resolution and photo-to-screen reasonable definition without costing me a fortune. This small scanner has been worth every dollar.

PROS: The set up is fast and easy. For starters, the scanner came complete with a power cord or I could insert four AAA batteries and make it completely mobil. The usb connection cable tethered the scanner to my PC or laptop. I also have the option of downloading the scanned photos to the 4 GB MicroSD Card that comes with it that is easily inserted into the back of the scanner. My first scan, I chose to download the scans to my laptop. The software to complete that setup is on the MicroSD card. The software setup was quick and in just minutes I was scanning in my first photo. After 50-100 photo scans, I cleaned the rollers with the cleaning tool supplied with the scanner. Despite reviews that gave negative feedback concerning white lines on the photos, the tool did the trick and kept my photos crisp and clean. There is also a sleeve for photos that are too curled, thin, too small, or just need a little TLC to make it through the scanner. I love this little scanner and can't wait to start on my negatives. I highly recommend this scanner for those who are looking for a quick and easy way to archive their old photos. I'll update my review once I have begun to scan in my negatives. Also, the description online said it will scan up to 8"x10" but it will actually accept a 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper.

CONS: It only scans in one format, JPG. I would have liked PDF so I could scan in my recipes, magazine articles and receipts. When you use the JPG format the files are rather large. I can scan them in as a JPG and then print them to a PDF but that is just extra work. I would also have liked the ability to control the JPG size on the scanner itself.

Overall, I am very pleased with this scanner. I don't think you will be disappointed with the functionality.

PROs, CONs, and NEUTRALS

If you've got the daunting project of scanning thousands of old photos without wanting to spend 5-10 minutes fiddling on each one, then this little device is going to work really well for you. If you're looking for super high quality scans worthy of an photography gallery, choose a more professional flatbed scanner and prepare to spend the next two years hunched over in a dungeon with your klunky PC.

PROS:

Scans directly to a memory card without an external computer!

Up and running in less than 10 minutes, which includes breaking it out of the box, reading the quick start guide and two pages of the user guide, and guessing that the power button doubles as the resolution selector.

Easy to use. Examples:

1. Stick your SanDisk in the back first. Then plug in the device. Toggle between 600 dpi (amber) and 300 dpi (green) by pressing the power button. Hold the power button for two seconds to turn off, or hold again to turn on again.

2. To scan a photo, insert the photo directly into the slot. It will automatically feed itself!

Fast scans.

600 dpi (amber light): 8"x10" took 32 seconds. Anything inside the plastic sleeve will take 32 seconds to go through the scanner (since the speed is the same to process the same sized sheet, regardless of the size of the photo inside it.) Smaller photos fed into the scanner without the sleeve will still be between 25-31 seconds.

300 dpi (green light): 8"x10" took 10.8 seconds. Anything inside the plastic sleeve will take 9-10 seconds

Plastic sheath included. The plastic sleeve is about 8.75" long, and is used to protect older or frayed or bent photos.

Really small. About 10.5" long x 2.25" deep x 1.875" high. P.S. It operates similar to a NeatReceipts-style scanner, but without a PC and other software.

Portable. Runs on batteries (but I use the included power cord.)

Once you put the photo in, the scanner rolls the photo through by itself, so you're not holding it the whole time.

Good value. It's a scanner that can cost less than $100 in some places.

CONS:

Sometimes if you don't feed the photo straight, it will go through crooked, and you can't stop it midway, as the scanner doesn't open. You would end up yanking the photo out. It'll let you, but that's probably not a good idea since it's those internal rollers that roll the photo for you. Wouldn't want to damage them or the photo!

The plastic sheath won't cover anything larger than a 5x7 photo. So you'll just need to feed larger photos directly without the sleeve, or use a regular flatbed scanner.

Only one plastic sheath. Not sure how to get replacements, as I could see it getting lost or frayed or destroyed by children/pets. I suppose you could just get a normal office transparent, thin binder sleeve to substitute, but I haven't tried.

Occasionally, the feed won't start right away, or starts too quickly. But it recovers quickly just by pulling the photo out quickly before it goes in too far, and trying again. (See the caveat about the rollers above, though.)

You do need to feed the photo and take it out once it's gone through. It doesn't spit the photo out, but will sort of continue scanning until you pull the end out completely.

NEUTRAL:

This scanner assumes you just need decent but not super high quality scans of relatively flat photos no wider than 8". (Length can be a little more than 10".)

You *must* have a memory card in the memory card slot in order to scan, even if you are scanning to a machine. (Someone please confirm.)

I did encounter the white line that another reviewer mentioned, but in my case, it cleared up once I used the enclosed cleaning tool. There is a little paper guide on the scanner that you adjust to fit the size of the photo being fed. I notice that I have problems if my photo ends up really pushing against that plastic guide. Hard to explain--think of it like trying to squeeze a bed through the doorway. A part of it might compress, and I think that was partially responsible for my white line. Yes, I admit: user error.

OTHER FUNCTIONALITY:

It saves all the photos as *.jpg format to a folder on the memory card called PHOTO# (where # refers to a number, starting with 1.)

You can scan to a desktop/laptop with the included software if you wish

Hope that helps! Comments and questions for clarification are welcome. Happy digitizing of old photos!

[11/18/2011 Update]

I read the user guide and discovered two additional things to note:

This product is made by Pandigital for Kodak.

There is a calibration card included that can be run through the scanner to calibrate it and help with the white lines.

Last night, I scanned 40 photos & rescanned 7 of them in the space of about an hour. The seven redos had white lines before I had to rescan them, clean and calibrate.

I'll update again if I decide that the error rate is too great. 7 out of 40 photos is a lot to redo, especially when you start getting into hundreds of photos.

I have 3 generations of photos that I treasure and wanted to scan them and preserve them on a stick/disc. Using my printer/scanner was going to take mega hours of work. Using my new Kodak P811BK scanner I have really cut the time down and only have one more storage bin of albums to do. This is the fastest most efficient scanner I have ever used and I highly reccommend this to anyone with a daunting scanning job facing them.

Want Kodak P811BK 8x10 Personal Photo and Negative Scanner Discount?

So I did a lot of research and ended up buying this scanner because it does 8x10 pictures. It was a great choice. It does what it advertises, I have not tried to do the disconnected battery-powered scanning or transparency/negative scanning, though.

Ok, so here is the low-down on this scanner:

Can scan pictures at 300 dpi or a higher resolution 600 dpi. When you turn it on it defaults to 600 dpi. My pictures average about 1 MB in size, through the range is from about 700KB to about 2.2MB. These are normal 4x6 pics mostly. for negatives and transparencies the scanner is hardwired to do 1200 dpi, which is probably a good thing. I did not scan any negatives or transparencies.

If you scan while connected to a computer you do not need a memory card inserted into the scanner. Comes with a 4GB memory card which is nice to have.

Comes with two software programs/installers: One is the driver program which allows you to scan to a folder on your computer. This program does not do much more than that. The second program is Kodak's image editing software, which I did not try out or install.

After installation the scanner "just works". I have an IBM/PC computer. This is a great thing to say because usually that's what you need out of your electronics. I have never had it fail on me.

If you have the scanner connected to a computer while scanning, then you can check your photos right away, which is invaluable. I would not scan pics into a feed-through scanner like this without checking each and every photo. It's just physically impossible to have a perfect scan every time in this type of scanner. This will get crooked due to user error. For this reason I do not use the battery-powered, hope for the best mode. I check each picture as I scan them to make sure the scan is acceptable.

There have been some comments about white lines in the pictures. I have experienced them too. I have found there are actually two problems and people are getting them mixed up: There is a white line problem, where the line is a single pixel wide and the pixel is completely white. This is fixed with a re-calibration with the included calibration card and a re-scan. It just happens every once in a while, I would not say it happens too much. The second problem I would bet is a bug in the scanner firmware. This is a line, several pixels wide that "eats" part of a photo. As a software engineer, I can say with some certainty that this is a firmware bug. It is probably a certain sequence of binary values in the digitized picture that causes this. You do not need to re-calibrate to get a good second scan, simply run the picture again. I never had it happen twice on the same picture. But no matter what the cause is, these two conditions happen very rarely. I am not knocking off any points for this, that's how rare it is.

The scanner comes with a plastic envelope/holder for pictures. Use it; even if your pictures can be run fine through the scanner without the envelope. The envelope does wonders for having scans that are aligned on the first try.

If you have pictures with dark edges (for example a picture taken at night where one or more edges of the picture are very dark), then the scanner will sometimes get confused as to where the picture actually ends. So if you have a picture that is 4x6, for example, the scanned picture may look to be 4x4. to solve this, I put something brighter behind the picture at the dark edge (a sticky note gave me goods results), and that will force the scanner to scan the whole picture and not throw out the dark part of the image. The downside of this is that now you have a picture that is too large, and you need to crop it with an image editor. To me this is much better than having a picture that is too small, but you make your own decision.

The resolution is great on this, as is the quality of the scan. I think the quality of the (old?) prints becomes a problem much sooner than the quality of the scanner. The 600 dpi resolution is great for making enlargements. Just don't expect to make a 2ft by 3ft poster out of these images. The real limitation will be the quality of the original pictures much more than the quality of the scan.

This scanner works awesome as a document scanner. It will take an 8.5" paper, so you can scan legal or letter size documents.

It really helps to have a good image editing software available to align photos, crop out edges, correct colors (old pictures you may scan will have faded colors, processing errors from the original picture development, and so on). Many pictures that I had looked far better after color and exposure corrections than the original pictures. I used Adobe Photoshop to correct my pics, I did not install the software that came with the scanner, so I cannot comment on the included software.

The one thing that I would watch out for is that the scanner comes with one calibration card (to calibrate simply feed it through the scanner, it could not any easier) and one plastic envelope for the pictures. I do not know how I would get a replacement for either, so keep the calibration card crystal clean. I put mine on a ziploc by itself to accomplish this. It would be good to be able to buy more of either accessories for backup.

Overall this was a great scanner to sit down with in front of your laptop and reminisce with the family about old times as you scan and double check your images. I just sat there for several evenings scanning my big pile of pictures and it's kind of sad they're all done. I need to visit my mother and do the same on her picture albums :-)

I'll give this scanner a perfect score as there is really nothing to bump down the score for. It does what it promises, with rare hiccups. I would not scan battery powered (btw, the manual insists that you yse rechargeable batteries if on battery power) without checking the pictures as you scan. That simply is putting too much faith on a feeder scanner. Too many things can go wrong to just assume all scans will be perfect on the first try.

Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

SMK-Link Wireless Ultra Mini Wireless Compact TV and Presentation Keyboard (VP6360)

SMK-Link Wireless Ultra Mini Wireless Compact TV and Presentation Keyboard
  • The ultra-mini size with contoured hand grips makes it the ideal choice of remote interface for user environment without desk surface
  • For user environment without desk surface such as home theater setting in a living room.
  • The smartphone-style keyboard eliminates learning curve; thumb typing on the keyboard is as easy as typing on a mobile phone.
  • Designed with the latest wireless technology, this keyboard provides up to 33-foot of wireless transmission range.

So let me start by saying, THIS ITEM IS IMPOSSIBLE TO USE!

I bought this device for $70 dollars on my birthday. Got it home and plugged it in and it connected immediately. It is shaped nice, with decent keyboard lay out, and button feel. Mouse L and R click are located on top. The Scroll is joystick oriented. Great idea. Horrible follow through. The pointer constantly slammed into the top and bottom of the screen, allowing me only left and right movement. In order to move the pointer up and down I had to find a spot on the joystick that resisted turning and grind it into that spot until it clicked. At this point it would allow me to move up and down normally for a random amount of time till it repeated to flee to the top and bottom of the screen.

In short.. not a good idea. Dont buy this.

Ps. I tried to write this review with it and gave up after 20 minutes of fighting with it.

I bought this from frys, and returned it. The joystick just wasn't working well with any member of my family. I have some senior citizens in my household, and they just couldn't work with the joystick.

I ended up buying the logitech dinovo mini from amazon, and I would tell you that it is worth every penny !

Pro: The ergonomics are pretty darn good. It fits in my hands, it feels sturdy, the joy stick and mouse buttons are easy to reach, and it seems to have the keys laid out well enough. On the one hand, charging via USB is nice (like other similar devices do), but I prefer how this one has removable AA batteries instead (having both capabilities would be the best).

Con: The keyboard DOES NOT WORK!! I am going to return it. If I try another, I will update my review if it works.

To confirm another reviewer's comment: the mouse joystick is VERY hard to use on small buttons. The slow speed described in the manual is too hard to stay in because it jumps into high speed at the slightest twitch. If it were easier to stay in slow speed, then the mouse would be fantastic.

It seems like the perfect remote for a HTPC; if only it worked.

Want SMK-Link Wireless Ultra Mini Wireless Compact TV and Presentation Keyboard (VP6360) Discount?

I chose this keyboard because it seemed to be the most ergonomic to hold compared to the other small wireless keyboards Frys had to offer. It is actually pretty ergonomic but the problem is the joystick does not allow fine control of the cursor at all! i have tried setting the mouse speed on my computer to slow and fast and everything in between and I always overshoot when trying to move the cursor no matter what the setting. Its actually quite laughable to see me try to click something on the screen; sometimes it takes a whole minute just to get the cursor where i want it. And its not just me, my husband had the same problem. I will definitely be returning this.

I use it to watch Netflix and YouTube videos on my TV. I've had this for several months and it works fine for me. Has a nice feel to it and is comfortable to use. Don't know why others are having problems. My PC is in the corner of my living room, the RF Sensor is about 8 feet from me and to my left and slightly behind me and I have NEVER had problems with the signal not working.

The joystick is very sensitive and sometimes it can be hard to get the mouse pointer to the correct spot. However, I found that if you go into your mouse settings on your PC and slow down the pointer speed of your mouse that the joystick will be easier to use. Also on some websites where the buttons are small, I adjusted the zoom on my browser so the buttons are larger and easier to hover over.

It sure is nice to sit in a comfortable chair and control your PC!

Transformer 700 with keyboard fit nicely. The keyboard (detached) slips into the inner sleeve, which is on the underside of the front cover of the rooCase. Probably meant to hold papers, etc., but the keyboard fits nicely. Meanwhile, the tablet fits against the other side of the case (the "bottom") and can be secured by two velcro straps. I have my T700 encased in a nice gumdrop case (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0098V1GJG/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00), and it fits in the rooCASE with about an inch to spare (width) and two inches to spare (top-to-bottom). I'd say there's probably at least an inch clearance above the top of the tablet and the closed top in which you could put papers or other items. Of course, if you have your Transformer mounted to the keyboard, the clamshell Transformer will fit with no problem in this case. Be aware, however, that the case barely accommodates 8 1/2 X 11 paper -you may have just a bit of corner bending.

Structurally, the case is very well made, with adequate padding on all sides. Comes with a handle which I like, in that it can collapse flat against the case, and a handy detachable shoulder sing is included.

Canon Wireless MFP/Print server Silex Pricom C-6700WG
  • Canon's Wireless Print Server Wireless LAN IEEE 80
  • Device-servers
  • USB2.0 Gigabit Ethernet Adap.

I recently installed the Silex C-6700WG wired/wireless print server in my home network. Because my Canon MP610 printer is physically close to my router, I installed the C-6700WG using a wired connection.

I ignored the product installation CD and instead downloaded the latest software and firmware update from the Silex America site (). The CX User Software there (as of the date of this review) is version 3.7.1 (11/13/2009). That's what I installed on my two desktops which run Win XP Pro (SP3). Silex America warns that this version does NOT support Windows 7.

On my laptop, which runs Windows 7 64-bit, I downloaded the software from the Silex Europe site (). There, the CX User Software is version 3.8.0 (22.12.2009) which does support Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit).

Printing, and in particular the Canon 'My Printer' software (ink level reporting, etc.) is working as expected. I didn't try to use the printer's scanning function.

I am using this product with my Canon D480. This is a great wireless print server, compatible with a lot of printers, specifically my Canon D480. Silex, makes this print server, which is a brand of Canon. So the good thing is when you call Canon for any question, Canon will answer your question and help you install it, if you need any help. Otherwise, imagine if you have a Canon printer and you had a wireless print server of another company, how the tech support can say no to you right away and relieve themselves of responsibility and blame and pass the buck to the printer manufacturer, and the other will pass the buck to the wireless print server.

Now for this print server, works perfectly fine in terms of responsiveness when you send a command. Works fine in case of range of as well. Where my wireless router is in the living room and the print server is in the last room, i.e 3 rooms away.

In terms of software installation it is so easy, it only takes 3 minutes to install it. This is a great product and I would recommend Canon printers and all-in-ones and Silex Wireless Print Servers.

The Silex installed easily and works flawlessly with my Canon multifunction laser printer. Do not take that as a 'given' for similar devices. I started by buying

'Linksys Wireless-G PrintServer with Multifunction Printer Support' which ended up supporting printing only after using workarounds found on the web and it did NOT support the multifuntion aspects of my Canon at all.

Want Canon Wireless MFP/Print server Silex Pricom C-6700WG Discount?

I replaced a Linksys WPS54G printer server with the Silex C-6700WG. The Linksys print server did not support scanning and faxing on the Canon printer (and most other printers as well) and it did not support use under Windows 7. (I had kludged the Linksys server to work under Windows 7, but it's not officially supported.) The latest versions of the Silex software, which are now available on the US support site, do support Windows 7. I set the print server up wired to the wireless access point. Although I stumbled a bit in the setup, once set up the print server function is seamless, and the fax and scanner functions are nearly so. I had long been concerned about the temperature of the Linksys print server it was almost too hot to touch but the Silex print server runs cool, or at least dissipates the heat much better.

I upgraded my home PC, and decided to go wireless on everything. My printer, an excellent Canon MX330, isn't wireless and needed a wireless print server in order to be a wireless printer for the primary PC and the wife's netbook.

I paid extra for this because it is made by Canon, and I figured that it would be most compatible with my Canon printer. Years ago I had a problem with a Linksys wireless print server that wasn't compatible with my printer, so I decided to get the print server most likely to work. This Silex/Canon device works great with my Canon printer.

Couple things any buyer should note.

(1) It never occurred to me when I bought my PC that because it is without a CD/DVD player that I wouldn't be able to load drivers from a CD (Duh). No worries on this one as the latest software is available from Silex's website.

(2) I had to go into Printer Properties / Ports and manually select the correct port as the application's software didn't change the port from USB to the "Pricomm" port.

Sportline 860 Reflective Sports Armband

Sportline 860 Reflective Sports ArmbandI bought the Sportline Armband from Wal-Mart (not knowing Amazon had it at the time of my impulse buying). This is GREAT for my 8GB Zen. My Zen is the size of a credit card and about 0.6 inches thick. I have my Zen inside of its silicone cover and then I slipped it snuggly inside of this Armband. The earphone hole lines up with the opening in the fabric. The USB hole doesn't line up with a hole, but I still fit mine in through the earphone hole and guide it to the USB connection...you can see it real good through the clear window.

The armband doesn't lay out flat like my other armband...it has an elastic joining piece so that when you put it on your arm it is secured as you pull the velcro together (no trying to pin it down with your arm while you tighten in order to not drop everything). It's so nice that I just keep my Zen in the armband. It also props up when it is not being worn, so I can watch the screen without holding the player. It has 2 pockets too...one zippered and one "hidden" velcro pocket. I put my headset in one and probably could put cash, key, I.D., etc. in each pocket too. The pockets are real roomy and everything is real stretchy and soft.

If I have to mention something negative...I noticed, when I was exercising at the gym, that a little moisture (from body heat) built up on each end of the Armband under the plastic window. This is after about 2 hours of straight exercise, though. It didn't damage my player...I just reached through the opening and wiped the moisture away. Not a big deal, and it doesn't get all over...just a little on the ends.

I like this product so much that I may buy another one for fear that they may stop making these for some odd reason...you know how that is when they have a good thing and then discontinue. Anyway, I hope my review helped you make a decision.

I found it difficult to strap to my arm, but I like the two stretchy storage pockets, one zippered and one with a velcro closure.

Buy Sportline 860 Reflective Sports Armband Now

It was nearly impossible to attach this to my arm by myself. The velcro is on two separate straps that need to be overlapped. It should be designed to have one strap that runs through a loop and then velcros to itself.

I needed an armband for by Transcend player to use at the gym because the player came with just a silicone cover and a neck strap (talk about skimping on accessories!). This armband fits the bill. Things I like about it are:

easy to adjust armband with a stretchy strap that connects both sides to keep them in close proximity, making the Velcro easier to engage. It also adjusts large enough to fit my husbands 14" biceps.

two stretchy storage pockets, one zippered and one with a Velcro closure. Either one easily holds my JVC ear buds while still in the travel case.

central compartment easily holds my player while it is still in the silicone cover

it has an opening on the bottom of the main compartment to fit headphone jacks for most players.

The one drawback, the top of the main compartment does not have a closure. It is just a slot to slip the player into. If the band was shaken while upside down the player could slip out. This issue can be overcome by leaving headphones with an L connector plugged into the player at all times. Personally, I haven't found it to be much of an inconvenience.

Want Sportline 860 Reflective Sports Armband Discount?

I wonder if these come in sizes. The three i ordered were much too tight on my arm. I could only close the velcro if the pouch is empty. Obviously, there's no point in wearing this while it's empty! With an electronic device in the pouch, regardless of the size of the device, i could never close the velcro straps. I am under 6 feet tall, medium build. Maybe these will work fine for a petite little lady, but it's far too small for even an average male.

Baofeng UV-3R USB Programming Cable

Baofeng UV-3R USB Programming Cable
  • Used for Baofeng UV-3R Handheld Transceiver
  • Program radio manually
  • Compact wire

The cable itself is just fine. It appears to mimic a Prolific cable, but not 100% perfectly. At some point, Prolific updated its drivers to fail this cable. (Understandable. Who wants to provide software for one's competitors?)

If you have Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, 32-bit, with Service Pack 1, the following will work. (It will probably work for other Win7 configurations; this is the only one I've personally done.)

1. Go to the Yahoo Group for UV-3). (Sorry, Amazon reviews don't let me enter a URL.)

2. Join that group. Wait to be approved by the moderator.

3. Go to the Files section for that group.

4. Navigate to the "409shop USB Driver" folder.

5. From inside that folder, download usb_drivers_win7.zip

6. Extract the contents of the zip file (PL2303_Prolific_GPS_AllInOne_1013.exe).

7. Run that .exe and install the software.

8. Go to Device Manager, and navigate to "Other devices" > "USB-Serial Controller". If it exists, right-click on it and delete it.

9. Ensure that you cable is plugged in.

10. In Device Manager, click the Action menu and select "Scan for hardware changes".

11. Under "Ports (COM & LPT)" you should now see "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COMx)"

12. Connect your radio to the cable and turn on the radio.

13. Download Chirp 0.2.2 from its web site. Install it. Run it.

14. From Chirp's "Radio" menu, choose "Download from Radio". If it works, you've demonstrated that the cable and drivers work.

I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because SainSonic really ought to put this on a printed insert in the envelope with the cable. (Note to SainSonic: Feel free to copy my instructions and include them in your shipment.)

Buy Baofeng UV-3R USB Programming Cable Now

After some initial frustration and fear that either the cable or the radio (both purchased together from this seller) might be dysfunctional, I had success with it on both Windows XP running under Fusion with Mac OS Lion and also with Windows 7 on my wife's laptop. You need to understand that this is not a straight forward procedure as many may presume...

I recommend joining the Yahoo group for the Baofeng UV-R3 for the wealth of information and the fact that you can download the requisite software and drivers for this cable there. My procedure that proved successful is outlined in the Yahoo group posting #6492.

There is a bad review of the cable here at Amazon that I nearly chimed in on but persistence paid off. There is also a comment that this cable has a counterfeit Prolific chip to which I can not deny as I have not been able to get this cable to work with the genuine Prolific drivers using Chirp 0.2.2 running on Mac OS 10.7 (Lion) as yet. And Yes, there is software for the Baofeng UV-3R that runs on a Mac...

What I can attest to is that the cable works under Windows with drivers from the Yahoo group mentioned above.

I just got the cable this week but no drivers were included and the ones off the internet don't seem to work. I'll try and reach the sainstore for more info, but unless they resolve the driver issue I would not recommend buying this cable.

This works great. Only con would be the drivers may take some people a little while to get right.

This is just a USB to Serial adapter incase anyone is wondering. Opened it with putty (didn't bother figuring out the baud rate) and data started scrolling across the screen like you'd expect.

The download software works fine as well.

Impressed for the price of the radio that this whole setup works as well as it does.

I ordered this but it doesn't work. It uses a Chinese clone chipset and not the real Proficient chipset, so it will not work with current drivers. I don't want to go backwards in drivers because I use RS-232 for many different systems, and need current operating drivers. Don't buy this unless you plan to track down old drivers and revert back to them.

(3Pack) Palm Treo 650 700 700w 700p 700wx Metal Stylus+Ball Point Pen

(3Pack) Palm Treo 650 700 700w 700p 700wx Metal Stylus+Ball Point Pen
  • 3 Pack Stylus+Ball Point writing pens for Treo 650 700 PDA
  • Brand new high quality stylus replacement pen
  • Fits into your handheld's built-in stylus holder
  • Custom designed for Treo 650 700 PDA
  • Also functions as an ink pen

The "ink pen" stylus I lost was like the one pictured where removing to top piece reveals the pen. What I got was a PALM branded "ink pen" stylus where the "pointer tip" unscrews to reveal the pen. This is a much better design in my opinion! Would have given 5 stars if the seller's picture was correct. The black top is a tad darker than the 700wx housing, but not by much. Maybe it is "designed" to be a tad darker to match the black stub antenna? I'm totally OK with that. It fits in the device better than the other style that I lost (which about need a "tool" to withdraw it). I posted a picture of what I received. 5 Stars for shipping as I got it 2 days sooner than estimated!

These work great as a stylus...and it doesn't hurt that there is a pen inside.

The pen is easy enough to open and the stylus stays in well.

The only problem is that the pen may run out of ink quickly from extended use...and you have to get the ink flowing after extended periods of non-use.

A brief history. I bought the original stylus with pen from a bricks & mortar a few years ago. I gave one away to a friend. And then, last week, lost the second one in the abyss, known as my car, while killing time at the drive through. Please note, I was NOT using my treo while actively driving.

I ordered the three styli on Monday Pacific time. It arrived Thursday. Pretty good. However, when I went to find the pen part, I only found the part you use for a hard reset. When I called the vendor and told them my dilemma, the girl on the other end assured me they always inspect their products, and that the stylus did have a ball point pen. It was just on the other end, and difficult to get off at first.

After pulling and twisting it apart with a wrench and pair of pliers, I found she was right.

The product is basically(literally) a Chinese nock off, and the pen cap didn't go back on completely. I don't blame the vendor, however. I do blame Palm for not supplying proper accessories for their products. In short, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for my lost stylus.

Concerti 99MO046031 for iPad 2 - Falcon- Grey

Concerti 99MO046031 for iPad 2 - Falcon- Grey
  • Doubles as versatile iPad 2 stand with various tilt angles.
  • Hybrid silicone inner case with Terahedron microfiber lining provides superior 360 degree shock and scratch protection.
  • Integrated hand pocket alleviates wrist stress when using the iPad handheld.
  • Includes detachable lanyard for added security and portability.
  • Microfiber outer layer provides a soft suede-like feel while in your hand.

I often carry a bunch of stuff from one room to another, and tuck my iPad under my arm. I REALLY don't want to drop it, of course, and the non-slip nature of the suede really does the trick--much better even than Apple's original iPad 1 case.

I think it has a very classy look, and shows a lot of care in the design. It clearly wasn't hacked together in a weekend.

I am using an iPad 3, and the holes line up correctly.

The stretchy silicone often slips out of perfect alignment, but not in a way that threatens the iPad's security, and it is trivially realigned.

Although the design does allow freehand use of the backside camera--by folding the cover in a special way--it's a little awkward, and it won't prop itself up on a table when the cover is folded this way (unlike Apple's iPad 1 case).

Although not a flaw annoying enough to weaken my 5-star rating, I must say that even after months of regular use, I still haven't gotten used to the cover flipping open on the "wrong" side (like a Japanese book). Japanese buyers will love this orientation, and you might get used to it quicker than I.

Did I mention that it's a sensual pleasure to touch this case? Oh yeah it is.

This portfolio case was exactly what I was looking for! It has a sleek look that would work for a business professional or a college student. When I decided to get an iPad I asked other friends what they liked or didn't like about the case they used and the majority of people said they wished their case protected the entire edge of their iPad. This does just that. With this portfolio, you just insert your iPad into a rubber sleeve that covers up all the edges, but leaves holes at the bottom for the power/USB port, at the top for the headphone jack and the lock switch on the side. The rubber sleeve is attached to the rest of the case so you don't have to worry about it falling out. For extra security, there's a small elastic strap on the outside for you to slip your hand into when you carry it. I also find the strap a convenient place to clip on my stylus. This portfolio case was originally designed for iPad 2, but my iPad 3 fits it perfectly. Overall, I'm very happy with my Moshi Concerti case!

I have owned this case for two years. It has protected my ipad well. The exterior surface is microfiber, which is great because my kids have gotten all manner of grime on it. It wipes clean with water and a rag.

It is an "upside down" case the home button is on the left when viewing in the landscape mode (this case does not rotate to portrait). In the landscape config, The on/off button is lower right, the volume control is on the bottom edge, on the right. Headset jack upper right and dock/charge port is on the left. I used it this way from day 1 and is perfectly fine for me.

The ipad fits into a silicone bezel that completely surrounds it with notches for the home, face cam and power. The case can unfold to use the rear cam. The silicone does cover the speaker and that could be an issue for some people but I find the sound more than adequate as evidenced by my having to tell my kids to turn it down often.

The case substrate material seems to be cardboard and IMHO gets a bit more flexy over time. The silicone bezel has a tendency to rip or tear as it must be stretched slightly to take the ipad in and out. That said, even if it does rip the ipad stays put because the bezel surrounds the ipad. You'd have to rip off an entire side before I'd get worried about it slipping out. I have used mine with two rips (thanks to my boys) for two years with no worries at all.

The bump stops that keep the ipad up in the landscape viewing position work most of the time although it does slip past them more now it seems especially the outboard one that puts it in the flatter (more face-up) viewing angle.

All-in-all I have been very happy with this case and I am about to purchase a new one.

I've never submitted a review before to amazon, but this case annoyed me so much I thought I'd write to pass on this warning. first, if you are using the mp3 player, you can't close the case because the area above the headphones jack is not cut out. second, you have to slide the case out to reach the on/off switch because the fabric hides that switch. the case is soldly made and doesn't appear cheap; it's just not especially convenient, but you wouldn't know it unless you tried it. I did, and now I'm looking for a better one.

I ordered the 3219WW Leaather Case for my LifeDrive based on the picture that I saw of it. That was my mistake. I previously used a Tungsten E2 and the leather case that came with it actually included space not only for flash cards but for business cards and money as well. I assumed that the leather case for the LifeDrive would have the same capabilities. Basically, you can only fit a couple of extra memory cards in the slots available. The case is attractive and it does protect my LifeDrive, I just miss having the features of my old case.

I like the magnetic closure. It is easy to flip open and the case adds little bulk to the Lifedrive. However the little pockets for holding extra SD memory chips are dangerous. The chips slip out and I lost one last week. So just don't use them. Worthwhile? I suppose so. But isn't it odd that in order to protect the new car look of our PDA's we enclose them in covers which are probably not as durable as the PDA itself, and eventually start to look ratty and worn?

PalmOne VII Handheld

PalmOne VII Handheld
  • Supports Palm.Net wireless communication service, including wireless Internet messaging
  • Web-clipping feature permits shopping and retrieves news, sports, flight information, weather
  • Stores thousands of addresses, appointments, to-do items, memos, and iMessages
  • HotSync technology synchronizes data with desktop computer
  • Palm VII, Palm Desktop organizer software, applications for Palm VII organizer, DB-25 adapter, protective carrying case

OK, here is my scoop on this device.. I have seen some people saying that 2MB was not enough memory. BULL****. I have 88 applications on it and still have 900k free, which is a little under half left!.. I am an avid stock trader and use it to make my trades at work. Mytrack and Fidelity both allow you to trade via the palm if you have an account. I have one with Mytrack and recommend them. I also use it for weather, travel directions, email, news, movie times, white pages lookup, shopping comparison, checking flight schedules, UPS and FEDEX package tracking.. This device is SWEET! I had never had any interest in a palm device until I heard about the VII with wireless connection. I have had mine for a week now and can't put it down.. Very handy.. The internet connectivity through palm.net is a bit pricey but I am sure it will come down with time.. Unlimited access is 44.00 month.. They do have other plans available by the amount of data transmitted. Lifting the antenna gets you connected to the net in about 3 seconds.. The web clipping is fine, stock quotes, directions, phone number lookups, email, etc.. Granted this is not an Internet browser but a great second best, the email rocks, when you sign up with palm.net you get a free email account that you can check and send email from the palm.. Very cool.. I guess I only have one minor complaint, there is a bit of a glare sometimes when held at a certain angle.. Like I said a minor issue.. I bought it for the internet access but the built in address book and planner are nice too.. It is a little pricey at 450.00 but I do recommend it to anyone that has an interest in it but needs that confirmation from someone that has it already.. One last note, there are hundreds of applications for it that can be found on the Internet.. Some are shareware and some are freeware, Alot of the good one's are free.. Out of the 88 I have, there is only one that I have to pay for, a stock portfolio manager.. ENJOY!

Buy PalmOne VII Handheld Now

I've spent 6 months with the Palm VII my wife bought me for my birthday and I'm satisfied with it.

In spite of being a disk pig who has used up over 4 Gigs of space on his laptop with data and programs, I've had no problem living within the 2 Meg memory of the VII. My favorite add-on programs are DateBook3 and STRIP, which I use to store passwords. I still have room for Tealdoc, a couple chapters of a book, and hundreds of contacts and reminders.

I have installed dozens of web applets, but I'm not a heavy user of the Internet and rarely exceed the lowest rate of $9.95. The web clipping applets are very stingy with data, making them economical to use even with the relatively expensive per byte rate. I've found Internet access especially useful for checking traffic conditions, getting weather reports, and checking on arrival times for planes when meeting someone. I also use the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, and sometimes use the GoNetwork translator as a 5-language foreign dictionary. Want to know what's playing in your neighborhood, but you don't have the newspaper? Look it up on your Palm on Moviefone.

The VII really comes into its own when travelling. Having access to driving directions or phone numbers is a big convenience, and when returning to DFW, it helps to be able to tell the taxi driver what gate your flight is leaving from so you can be dropped off at the correct terminal building. Even if you do your reticketing through the airline or an agent, it is useful to pull down a schedule first. Ever been in a hotel room without "USA Today" and not known what was on TV? Look it on your VII with Rick-T-Land.

I rarely use iMail, and normally limit it to outgoing messages. I've configured it so my return address is my normal work address, and only give my palm.net address out when I explicitly want someone to address mail to my PDA. (I have such a heavy volume of mail that it would be hopeless to ever use a Palm to read it). It's cool to send a message home when you are waiting to board a plane. Although I used Amazon's applet to buy a book once, I don't trade stock with my Palm. It might be useful to buy entertainment tickets, but I never have.

I assume that someday I will need more than the 2Megs available in this device, but by then, there will probably be some newer color version (at a premium price). For now, having access to the Internet makes up for the reduced memory. You don't need to download that foreign language dictionary--just query one on the web. If you finish the book you brought, download another one.

The VII really comes into its own when you are outside of the office, or don't have immediate access to a web browser. It also has major prestige value. The next time you get into an argument over what movie Minnie Driver was in before "Good Will Hunting," you can be the one to whip out the wireless PDA and impress your friends by finding the answer on the Internet Movie Database.

To be honest, I think most people won't have the quality of their life greatly affected one way or the other just by having a Starbucks locator hanging from their belt, but it is fun. Not everyone will be able to live with the memory constraints of the VII, and it can't synch with your laptop using the IR port (carry the synch cable in your laptop case). I still have plenty of RAM left, though, and I have lots of calendar entries, notes, and contacts that I synchronize with Outlook. I'm very pleased with the Pocket Mirror synchronization applet, also. I was able to drill down into the configuration and set it so that the categories I had already defined on my Palm were uploaded to Outlook on my laptop. Very convenient.

Favorite accessory: Black leather case on a quick-release belt clip.

This is a quality product and it's easy to apply. Love the skin, but I really dislike this phone.

I couldn't use one of the top back panel stickers because it did not want to go on smooth but i got the front one on and the bottom back one on. My phone looks very cute now but the decal has chipped a bit, but i've had it for about a month and for the money i say it is pretty good.

Fosmon® Premium Quality Transparent Snap On Crystal Clear Hard Protective Cover Case for HTC Ozone

FosmonĀ® Premium Quality Transparent Snap On Crystal Clear Hard Protective Cover Case for HTC Ozone VX6175 / VX-6175 with Belt Clip
  • Perfectly fits the shape of the HTC Ozone VX6175
  • Made of innovative material of high durability.
  • Crystal clear case with cutouts give access to all functions

If you are buying this because of the belt clip, move on. The clip unscrews itself from the case and eventually just cracks off. On the other hand, if your buying this for a case, like I did, it works great. Simpally do not attach the belt clip mount to the back and its a perfectly good case. FYI, if the belt clip attachment is not used, a small(1//4 x 1/4 inch) square hole will be on the back. Does not interfere or hinder anything. Its just there.
