I have used this machine for about 6 months now, and it simply perfect for the work I do. I use the office suite to start documents while on the road (I sometimes spruce them up once back at the office with the full version of Word or Excel), and I find other programs handy as well.

I use Microsoft Streets & Maps to make small maps that this machine can use on the road, and I use the free bookreader from Mobibook to read ebooks.

My only recommendation is that you buy Vadem's new model instead (...). Sharp labeled this model, but it was built by Vadem as well. For less money, you can get twice the memory, twice the speed and better graphics.

I have had my Mobilon for a year now and I still love it. As a professional journalist and technical writer, this little PC has made me more productive and efficient. Rather than using a notepad and pen, I bring along my Mobilon and essentially take dictation from interviewees. With applications like Pocket Word, Excel and PowerPoint, it snycs beautifully and easily with my desktop for more technical applications and the 12 hour battery life is fabulous! It also syncs with Outlook so I have all my contacts and my schedule with me. The touch screen technology and built-in handwriting recognition software mean I don't have to find a surface for a mouse and I can take notes or draw figures with the stylus. The monitor resolution is very clear, though hard to read in bright sunshine, so don't take it poolside. Color and grahics are very good, though you are limited when it comes to your choice of fonts--not a critical item for me.

I have small hands, so I think the keyboard is big enough for me, though some people have commented that typing on it is awkward. I disagree.

Of course, you can download or buy lots of great software from Bubblet (TM) to finance and utilites, so the sky's the limit for how you decide to use this impressive little machine.

If you are looking for a laptop that doesn't weigh seven pounds but is powerful enough for Word documents, spreadsheets and more, the Sharp Mobilon is for you.

I use the Tripad (PV6000) in tablet mode for data entry and inventory control. CIC's Jot and the Jot Keyboard are both a big help with direct entry of numbers. It sure beats the laptop. The battery life is great. I did order the memory upgrade, 32 MB and added a CF card. I also added a Calluna 260 MB hard disk to the PC card slot to store backups and all of the eBooks from Peanut Press, Books2Read, and Mobibook.

Let me state first off that I love(d) this machine! It is light-weight, easy to use and interfaces superbly with your desktop or notebook.

That said, I feel that I need to warn you that in 1 year, I have had to return my machine 4 times for the same repair. It freezes, won't shut off, then after a hard reset, won't turn back on. Sharp has replaced the battery, the main chip and the inverter, now is going to charge me [alot] to fix the machine! I was considering buying a new one, until I talked to my Dad who also bought one at my recomendation and found out that his is doing the same thing. Obviously, I didn't get a rare lemon.

Take a chance if you must, but I am steering clear of this wonderful little computer until they fix some major problems!

The best thing about this is the design, but the arms connecting the screen and keyboard look odd when the unit is closed. The screen is fairly dim, and must be used in a dark/moderately lit room. The viewing angle of the screen is horrible; the only position you can see the whole screen without an inversion/blackout effect is at an angle where any overhead lighting glares all over the place. The CPU speed isn't particularly slow, but the graphics ([re]drawing the screen) goes on at an awful crawl i.e. it's no good for graphical things. Now I must sound entirely bitter and biased against this machine, but I'm not, I carry it in my bag all the time and use it when I can. I even use it as an electronic book, its best use so far.

I wanted a simple protective case that wouldn't alter the way the Kindle Fire is supposed to be handled yet kept the appearance looking good. This is a perfect example of doing something simple just right.

Great value on amazon on something simple. But something great.

I took off my leather cover and used this case which seems to reduce (slightly) the bulk.

I think my leather cover would protect the backing on the Kindle, but IMHO the rubber backing was created to be used, and it is a great non-slick surface.

Couple of notes, though:

* This is a smooth plastic case where if you are in a vehicle with a cloth surface (such as a seat or on your lap), any turns or sudden stops can send the device moving--but, flip it over and use the Fire's rubbery backing and you have no problems.

* The plastic is easily scratch, and after a few weeks I already have tons of hairline scratches. If it gets bad, though, this case is rather inexpensive that I can simply get another one.

* You will need your fingernails at times to remove the case from the corners--it can be a tight snap. After about 2-3 weeks of using this, is it getting better, but if it is still this tight, I may try to get a way to find a solution (maybe take a few seconds with a hair dryer or file a little bit of 1 the corners).

* Wished it had a kick stand, though. But, I can probably tape a card-paper kick stand, or make one out of simple plastic and glue it on.

Despite of my notes, I think this is a great case. Now, I wish I can find it for my Kindle Touch soon.

The keyboard is actually smaller than I was expecting but it works great.

I purchased it to use with a HP Touchpad running CyanogenMod and it fits the job perfectly.

To get the keyboard to pair natively with the android OS you must do the following:

1. Go to the bluetooth pairing screen in android.

2. Turn the keyboard on and set it to scan mode.

3. Select the keyboard and enter the password 0000 when requested.

4. Type 0000 on the keyboard as well. (This step was not listed anywhere.)

The trick is to enter the password on both the keyboard as well as the android device.

I do not recommend the software that comes with the keyboard, it crashes 100% of the time on the touchpad, and the latest version which has been named BlueInput costs $10. In addition the mouse does not work when you use it.

Every feature of the keyboard works as described. Very good price for what you receive. The keyboard charges very quickly over standard USB and holds the charge for a significant period of time. The keyboard itself is backlit very well. The laser pointer is of fairly high quality. It even comes with a bluetooth adapter in the side of the keyboard for systems that do not have bluetooth.

This is a well designed, fully functional, sturdy little device which I use to control a laptop hooked into my TV from across the room. I sit about 20 feet from the PC, and the bluetooth works fine from that distance. There is no interference from other bluetooth devices in the room, nor does it interfere with wireless controls or devices. The buttons are well placed, as is the scroll pad and mouse pad. I haven't figured out a good way to click and drag yet, but I'm sure there's a convenient way to do this as well. Very nice little item, at a good price.

I wanted to like this little keyboard, and honestly did for what it is. It connected to my laptop, and Galaxy Note 2 with little trouble. Unfortunately the laser didn't work out of the box. This I'm sure this is just a precursor to what is to come with this product with it eventually failing altogether. First off, I am not hating on China or anything, but I was sure that this was gonna be some cheapy case that would crack as I put it on my Evo Shift. After all the Shift has only been out for a couple weeks, should I buy this case? Yes, and you should too.

Besides all the great fast shipping and the usual hoopla, the case itself is well built. The case fit perfectly (it even came with a case remover!). Maybe it's my monitor but the product picture doesn't do it justice. The case in the picture looks completely black with this flaming flower on it, right? Its much better and more expensive looking in reality. The whole case is black, but it has a orangey-firey-reddish kind of afterglow (looks much better imo). The screen protector went on great, just one or two air bubbles (my fault). And yes it is one of those screen protectors with misspelled directions, but hey, the whole set is less than just the screen protector at Frys. Oh yea, the case feels awesome!!! The flower by the way looks 3d at different angles.

If i remember I'll update this review when my phone (hopefully) survives its first bad fall.

I would spend $7-$10 more for a better unit. Trouble is, it's hard to know which are better. This one should be adequate, but my immediate impression was NOT "wow, this is great," but rather, "this is okay and will do for the price." I don't know how long it will last as I just bought it.

PROS:

I have just plugged this in, and it seems to work fine.

1. The microphone part is adjustable which is good.

2. There is a mute and volume control on the cord and a led on light also

CONS:

The plastic head piece seems to narrow for my head (5'6" female); It is adjustable longer but not wider, so it seems a little tight, which should probably be good for an hour class but not longer

2. The earpads might be better if rounder: they too are tall but not wide, and not 100% wonderful on my ear.

I bought this headset because I wanted a usb headset to use while playing computer games. This headset performed very well in that aspect. The sound was full and the directionality was adequate, but definitely not surround. The mic sounds clear and is easy to adjust. I thought this headset and i would have a long, happy relationship together.

Enter it's one real downfall: build quality. It's an inexpensive headset and the flimsy plastic betrays that fact immediately. To be honest, I wasn't all THAT careful with it, but after 6 months or so the sound from the left earcup started to become scratchy. It was still usable, but annoyed me to no end so I have since replaced it.

All in all, great entry-level usb headset.

I bought a set of these headphones for my teenage daughter. The headset that came with some foreign language software had fallen apart and these were a replacement. After only 4 weeks she was putting them on her head and one of the ear pieces just snapped apart! The wires were still intact, but they are basically not usable anymore. They do what they say.

They're great if you just want to talk in stereo mode (the phone call is in both ears not mono, or one ear). Just expect some muffled sound.

Most people can ignore that but I don't.

Music was muffled, obviously.

If you click the button it plays or pauses music.

Double click = next track.

I thought that was cool. No previous track, volume, or time travel button but I made do with out.

All in all, they worked as they should. I'll take a star off for the quality of the sound.

When placed near your mouth it has very good sound. You just have to hold it, defeating the clip purpose.

The microphone must be held close to your mouth to actually pick up sounds. Doesn't work when clipping it anywhere on your clothing. Disappointing. I wanted to be able to ditch the awkward headphones but this didn't solve that.

I got 2 of these as 'travel' cases for my handguns. It comes with pre-cut foam that you can shape as the top layer, and another foam layer at the bottom. Even before I could use these for the purpose I got them for, the Northeast got hit by a major storm and I ended up using this as my 'emergency' go-case since it is waterproof. I ended up storing my iPhone, wallet, glow sticks, extra batteries, and LED flashlight in it. I actually never got to use it (luckily) but I had the confidence after reading all the reviews (on Amazon and other places).

For the handguns, it fits a glock with one mag in the gun and one mag outside it is fairly compact so don't expect to fit a lot more in it... maybe can put a couple of glow sticks but that's about it. But the nice thing is that it fits in backpacks and can be locked (for the states with weird gun-travel laws).

All in all, satisfied so far.

I have purchased many phone covers just like this one and it works just fine. My biggest complaint is that it is advertized as being RUBBER and it is not. It is rubber-feel HARD PLASTIC like all of the previous covers I have purchased for my Pre, which work fine but all eventually break as the tiny plastic tabs that hold it on the phone break off. I have zero complaints! I got standard shipping and got this like 2 days after I ordered it, well technically less since I ordered it around midnight I think! The feel of it is amazing! I believe I received a used product . . . Although now I don't remember. While the product was shipped in a timely manner and quite intact, it only worked for about 3 months. The battery had failed. Replacement batteries weren't that expensive. It was just tremendously inconvenient!

The last few reviews have touched on this but I want to make certain people understand, this is an outstanding gaming laptop. The processor and GPU are light years beyond what you'd get in this price range and it shows in high demand gaming environments. The hard drive is a bit slow on load times but once you're in, you're absolutely golden. I spent a good bit of time attempting to find a cheap laptop I could take to and from places and still be a functional gamer, and this exceeds expectations.

Keep in mind, though, that you're sacrificing elsewhere. The screen is bad, the keyboard isn't great, the trackpad is just abysmal. It isn't nearly as sleek as a new ultrabook from whoever else might be out there. But I personally didn't buy it for any of those reasons. However, if you can spell "aestetically pleasing", look elsewhere. It's a $750 laptop with one of the most powerful laptop processors out there, and a pretty nice mobile GPU to boot. You're losing some polish.

Now, I bought this laptop because it crushes similarly priced laptops with the might of a herd of bison. It does this all day, every day, and if you're looking for either a ridiculously powerful laptop for some sort of work or a gaming laptop under a grand, this is it. The niche for this laptop is small, but if you're in it, you'll be exceptionally happy.

A note: it's easier to set up the screen gamma, etc. to be slightly off axis as you're viewing it. The optimal viewing angle is so small it's actually easier to adjust it to being off axis than on, since if you adjust it for being on axis you're looking at not being able to even think about moving your head. Oh and don't even pretend to be able to game with the trackpad, you need a USB mouse.

With qual core i7 and Nvidia GT 640M, this laptop is among the best performing laptop among 15" laptops and still not too heavy.

It runs Skyrim smoothly in ultra mode. Launching and running regular applications are simply blazing fast. It can convert video between different formats super fast as most of the video converter software support Nvidia encoding acceleration.

The laptop is black glossy color. With only 1.3", it is thinner than most, if not all, other laptops in this class.

The keyboard feel nice to type. The extra numeric keypad is a little bit distraction.

The speakers are OK. No complaint on this.

The display needs gamma adjustment. I followed the instruction in Windows Color Calibration utility but adjusted inside Intel Graphics Property -> Gamma until the black/white dots looked good per Microsoft instructions.

After using this laptop for about a month I can say that it is truly worth the purchase, it is not without minor flaws however. To start off, it is a relatively stylish laptop. It's subtle for the most part which i think is appealing in comparison to obnoxiously styled gaming laptops. The build quality is around average (maybe a little less considering the price range) although the keyboard is very good. As far as specs go, for the price, it can not be beat. It is not without a few disadvantages however. Sadly, the only OS this ships with is Windows 8, which is unstable, not the least bit user friendly, and a huge pain to install Linux on. When I received it, it also had a WiFi connection issue that was a real pain solving considering Acer's abysmal customer support. If you decide to purchase this, installing Windows 7 is a MUST. Oh, and it also runs pretty cool as well.

*The driver to fix the WiFi connectivity can be found on the Acer V3 drivers page (google acer v3 drivers) and is called the Wireless LAN Driver (new) by vendor Atheros.

For the amount of money I spent on this computer, there are definitely things that I wish I knew prior to purchase.

1) Windows 8 SUCKS on this machine, it is highly unstable with Windows 8, if you are going to get this computer I suggest downgrading to Windows 7 and purchasing that license.

2) Screen resolution could be better.

3) You will need to update your drivers because this computer has an internet glitch where you lose internet relatively often and despite its impressive parts, the internet can still run relatively slow.

4) My biggest gripe with this computer is the trackpad. I planned on doing a lot of writing of papers on this computer, and the cursor continues to jump around and highlight and delete text in the middle of me writing. It is immensely frustrating and your worse writing nightmare to find chunks of writing missing. I changed settings to reduce trackpad sensitivity to its lowest setting and enacted the palm feature and this is still happening constantly, I am having to disable the trackpad when I type which is incredibly annoying since I view pages while taking notes. I have small hands so I can only imagine what others must be experiencing, you can barely brush the trackpad and it will alter everything. On this flaw alone, I would not have purchased this computer and wouldn't recommend it to others. If you plan on doing important writing and work for school and business, avoid this computer. If someone knows a more permanent solution to this problem or has the same thing happen and gets it fixed, please advise.

5) The plug can unplug easily, and does when I am laying in bed and accidentally knock it.

6) There is no indicator light for the caps lock key.

If I had to do it over again, I would NOT buy this machine. Lots of great reviews on it but there are also some serious drawbacks and you should read through them and consider prior to making a decision.

Did a lot of research before I decided to go with the V3 571g 9686 but I'm glad I did. This laptop looks sleek and performs very well. I noticed some of the comments saying things about windows 8 being junk and having a ton of "bloatware" or commercially installed applications that are unnecassary. They were easy to unistall either using the normal add/remove or downloading CCleaner or another program to unistall applications. Windows is a bit different but you still having access to your normal desktop, new features include swiping from the left or right of your mousepad. Swipe left to switch between open windows, slide right open the start menu. I would suggest upgrading your ram to max out at 8gb. Fortunetly the ram is set up with 2 slots and one 4gb stick and one 2gb stick and not forcing you to spend a ton on a whole kit. They were nice enough to include kingston ram but just the 2gb stick so it doesn't matter. The overall build I feel is very sturdy. Keyboard feels nice and precise, not built out of one big keyboard but the keys are seperated by a nice looking silver housing. Mousepad is nice but feels rather senstive, I've adjusted settings but dragging and dropping is a pain. Its also off center and more towards the left, which is not a compaint but just interferes with typing. Numerical pad is a nice feature and doesn't feel like its addition is crowding the keyboard. A youtube review had mentioned that running the windows index test to see how your machine performs overall is low. Which is wrong, heres why. The laptop doesn't come with just one graphcis card but two. The Intel HD 4000 is interegrated into the motherboard, and the Nvidia Geforce GT 640M. If you adjust your nvidia settings your can change it to automatically switch between graphics cards when the load is necassary. However you can also set it to only use the Nvidia card. I ran the test with the intel and came out at a 5.4 becuase of the graphics card. Ran it again with the Nvidia and my graphics came out to 7.7! However the HDD is at 5400 rpm so its overall score became 5.5. You could updgrade the HDD but since everyone is complaining about the battery power a 5400 rpm HDD is going to use less power than a 7200 rpm HDD. Yes the battery life is short because of all the nicer hardware which is the tradeoff. Overal i'm very satisfied with this laptop.

Ordered three of these. One smoked on a long trip going up US395.

I contacted Griffin to get it replaced under the one year warranty. After several emails and send Griffin photos of the fried PowerJolt, Griffin said they were very possibly counterfeit units. The pen looking section doesn't actually do anything on the HP touchpad. Only the back of the item (eraser looking side) will type on the device. Not what I bought it for. There are much cheaper stylus options that include a cap to connect to the headphone jack, which only have the eraser looking part.

The quality is terrible also. Don't waste your money on this.

Even though I was aware the the fact that sharp tip pointers aren't compatible with captive touch screen, I made a fool of myself by not reading 'e-reader/touchpad compatible' section.

If you really want a sponge/eraser like part stylus, you can get hundreds of other ones for less than $3.

For $10, it's useless.
