Li-Ion Battery for HP iPaq rx3100, rx3115, rx3400, rx3410, rx3415, rx3700, rx...

Li-Ion Battery for HP iPaq rx3100, rx3115, rx3400, rx3410, rx3415, rx3700, rx...
  • 3000 mAh High Capacity, 3.7V, with Longer Runtime
  • Li-Ion Rechargeable Internal Battery
  • Made from High Quality Japan Cells
  • 100% compatible with original batteries and chargers
  • for HP iPaq rx3100, rx3115, rx3400, rx3410, rx3415, rx3700, rx3715

I bought this for my Ipaq 3115. The useable life for this is easily 3 times that of the OEM battery. It requires a larger cover for the back, and the wrong one came with the shipment, but Ospray-Talon's customer support was very quick to respond, I sent them jpegs of the problem and they quickly sent a replacement cover. I get hours of life now for surfing and playing MPG4s. Product and company highly recommended.

Even though this battery seems a bit bulky, you definitely get up to 5x more battery life out of it, that of course depends on what applications you are running in the foreground as well as the background along with a screensaver.

LG US740 UX740 APEX Ally VS740 BLACK SHELL CASE

LG US740 UX740 APEX Ally VS740 BLACK SHELL CASECheap plastic case. Not worth the money spent. Broke after the first drop. Would not recommend others to buy it.

This case was good at first, but afte about a week it started cracking at the edges and wouldn't stay on the phone.

Buy LG US740 UX740 APEX Ally VS740 BLACK SHELL CASE Now

When I had a LG ally, this was by far my favorite phone case. They are light, cheap, and durable. The only thing that ever breaks on them is the plastic parts the hold the case on the phone, so when you buy them I advise you to buy two or three so that you can have a replacement case when/if your current case breaks.

I am sure you are thinking that if it breaks then I should not be giving it 5 stars, but for the money and how infrequently they break, they are awesome phone cases.

this case is garbage. it broke within a week of use and I'm not exactly rough on my phones. in fact, this is the first phone case I have EVER bought and I am seriously disappointed. I will not be buying anything like this ever again. next time I'll put a few more dollars down and get something that's made of higher quality than this.

Handspring Visor Prism

Handspring Visor Prism
  • Sharp full-color screen displays over 65,000 colors
  • RAM of 8 MB stores thousands of addresses, appointments, to-do items, and more
  • Features address book, to-do list, memo pad, date book, advanced calculator, and world clock
  • Fully compatible with thousands of Palm OS applications
  • Visor Prism, Cobalt Blue HotSync cradle, 8 MB RAM, Internal rechargeable lithium ion battery

Since this is my 1st PalmOS PDA I don't have as much experience as some other reviewers. However I do know what I do & do Not like. My list of Pros & Cons for this fine PDA:

Pros specific to this device:

1. Ability to display 65,000 different colors.

2. You can create notes/ business cards w/ color.

3. You can read and work faster. One thing I've found that's quicker than reading, to ID something, is color. If I label an item in a To-Do list in red for instance, I know w/o reading that its a hot item to do ASAP. This helps one prioritize items. It just makes sense.

4. CPU speed. This units fast. Although the color display DOES make the unit slightly slower than a Visor Pro/Platinum.

5. Color games beat B/W games when in waiting rooms. ;-)

6. Display easier to read indoors than a Palm m505. (Isn't this where 90% of its use will occur anyway?)

Cons specific to this unit:

1. Battery life. Handspring advertises up to 2 wk. between charges. Yea right! Maybe if you only use it for

Duo Tablet Kit
  • - External mounting Model + Built-in Solution
  • - Covers Desktop PCs, Notebook, UMPC, Handheld, Smart Phones
  • - Hassel-free One step HW Installing
  • - Plug & Play under MS Windows
  • - Support All MS pen enabling Applications + Major Graphic Tools

Great product. Worked very well with two minor issues:

a) I tried it on a 17" Screen it didn't work..

b) Have to recalibrate (very quick process) once every ~24 hours

Other than that, it works very well

Buy Duo Tablet Kit Now

There are two main complaints about this product and one minor one.

Major problem 1: The batteries for the pen die extremely quickly. I needed to replace them twice in two months. That's once per month.

Major problem 2: It broke in three months. Yep. Just stopped working. In three months.

Minor problem: If you are drawing in the center (i.e. under the reception unit), the lines are all wavy.

In short, don't buy this. This truly is low quality product.

I bought this Pen with very high expectations, and ended up being shocked with the results i got. After few hours of trying and trying on different LAPtops, different brands, and different OS (XP and Windows 7) i managed to get the caliberation going to some extent. However, the click function on the PEN stopped, either using buttons or Pen tip clicks.

I am not sure what is happening to my PEN but i already started looking for something else more consistent as far as performance goes.

What is even more disappointing is i could not find an email on Penandfree.com website to contact them, i get redirected to another website that has some flash issues and does not allow me to complete the complaint!!! very disappointed and a complete waste of my money.

rooCASE Neoprene Sleeve (Magenta) Carrying Case for Western Digital My Passport Essential 500GB Port

rooCASE Neoprene Sleeve Carrying Case for Western Digital My Passport Essential 500GB Portable Hard Drive WDBACY5000ABL Pacific BlueThis case isn't the right size for me to believe it was made for My Passport hard drives, it's just a little bit too big (I'd say a little over an inch longer and a 1/2 inch wider than needed). With that being said, I still gave it four stars because it's cute, soft, and seems well made. The extra room doesn't bother me, and actually probably makes it easier to store the cord along with the hard drive.

This is a well made little case that my EHD fits in perfectly. It has an outside zippered pocket which makes it double as a cute little clutch.

  • PERFECT FIT: Custom Designed for the Acer Iconia A500. Gives You Easy Access to All Controls, Ports & Camera
  • STAND & DOCK: Transforms Into Stand With Three Viewing Angle Choices & Serves as a Dock For Your Tab
  • PROTECTION: Soft Non-Slip Bonded Leather Protects Your Tab Against Damage From Falls & Scratches Outside & The Microfiber Interior Protects Inside
  • CARRYING CASE: The Light Weight is Ideal For Travelling & Magnets on the Corner's Keep the Case Securely Closed

Great looking cover, and concept is good....but...the Iconia doesn't fit into the clips very well (that hold it in the case) and in the normal portrait position when you are opening the case, holding it like a book (e.g open from right to left) there is no clip at the bottom supporting the iconia (there is only one at the top and sides). This means the iconia very easily slides out the bottom (and would drop on the floor)....very poor design....disappointed...and not fit for purpose as it gives a false sense of security when it could very easy drop out of the case.

Cisco AIR-AP1041N-A-K9 Aironet 802.11g/n Fixed Autonomous Access Point

Cisco AIR-AP1041N-A-K9 Aironet 802.11g/n Fixed Autonomous Access Point
  • Cisco Systems, Inc Aironet Wireless Access Point,AIR-AP1041N-A-K9,882658343544,1041N,Cisco Wireless Access Points / Bridges,Wireless Access Points / Bridges,Networking,Cisco Systems, Inc

Just a warning: I'm a network engineer.

Now that that's out of the way, I'm happy to report that this access point is absolutely wonderful. It handles all of my network traffic with ease. If you've been unsatisfied with home wireless solutions, or even lower-level business wireless solutions, this is the access point for you. Configuration tends to be a bit complex, since this is running full Cisco IOS, but the web interface makes this a little easier (a very little bit easier...). System uptime has been wonderful, hardly any network latency added, able to handle multiple clients with demanding needs without slowing down or becoming unstable. This is now my go-to recommendation for clients and computer enthusiasts like myself.

Bottom Line:

Buy this if: You're a network engineer who just finished wiring their home with gigabit ethernet for the fun of it and would like a nice AP to go along with it.

Don't buy this if: You've found that your Linksys wireless router is a bit too complex for your tastes.

Buy Cisco AIR-AP1041N-A-K9 Aironet 802.11g/n Fixed Autonomous Access Point Now

Why do you need an access point that you can modify with CLI? Because you can... This Cisco AP is a great AP for SMB with a savvy IT nerd like me. It's not designed to be an enterprise mainstay in the WLAN space, but it's got great tie-backs to security (802.1X, Radius, certificate based, etc), and it's fully stand alone. This unit has a CLI interface and a GUI that is reasonably well built. I'd say that the GUI was last minute because the response time is slow...but that's expected for a $350 AP. You will need a configuration guide from Cisco to make this AP do more than basics. I am a network expert but would not expect the average IT or computer user to find this an 'easy' to use product. This is a professional tool designed to provide 802.11 B/G/N services through it's single spectrum antenna set. It's not using a dual radio (that would be the AP1142, so don't be confused).

My only complaint is that it's difficult to configure the security settings for this AP through the GUI. Stick to the CLI if possible and you'll be pleased with the capability of customization and relative ease of configuration.

I bought this AP to improve the performance and security of my personal wireless network located in an apartment in a high-rise building with the WIFI spectrum flooded with vanilla linksys and netgear APs. I eventually succeeded in getting it to do both quite well.

Please note that the "autonomous" APs (such as this one, with part numbers that begin AIR-AP) do not require a separate controller and as such are probably best suited for home or small office use. The "lightweight" APs (with part numbers that begin with AIR-LAP) require a wireless LAN controller to operate. (If you accidentally bought one of these, it is claimed that you can replace the system software to convert it to an "autonomous" AP, but I have not done so.)

I am not a network engineer, and have never worked with "real" Cisco gear before. I am, however, a Computer Scientist, but it still took me several days to get this working as I had planned.

The biggest stumbling block I ran into was getting the AP to use the local RADIUS server, which uses ports 1812 and 1813 (the "new" standard RADIUS ports), but the ports had defaulted to 1645 and 1646 (the "old" standard RADIUS ports). I got to learn how to use the Cisco IOS CLI to debug this, so it wasn't a total loss :)

Also, the AIR-PWRINJ3= power injector does NOT work with this device (despite the fact that some Cisco documentation says it should, and, at least at the time I bought it, shows up in the "frequently bought together with" list). I think the AIR-PWRINJ4 will work, but I have not tried it.

The 802.11n spec requires AES with WPA to get link speeds greater than the 802.11g max of 55 Mbps (or open authentication). It also requires WMM to be enabled (Sevices -> QOS -> Advanced).

In encryption manager set cipher to AES CCMP.

In SSID manager accept Open Authentication with EAP and Network EAP, require Key Management to be Mandatory, and enable WPA. (I originally specified WPAv2, but our Apple laptops and an iPhone did not work with v2. If you just specify WPA, individual clients can negotiate v1 or v2.)

This configuration is often called called "Enterprise WPA" in the client configuration UIs.

You then need to create users with the Local Radius Server, and aim the Server Manager at the Local Radius Server (or your existing Radius server, if you have one).

Please note that the Local Radius server only supports EAP types LEAP and FAST. It does not support PEAP, which makes it difficult or impossible to use with some devices (you would have to "root" and hack your Kindle fire to get it work with LEAP, and you need a special configuration app to configure an Android phone to work with LEAP).

If you want to support PEAP, your options are to subscribe to a cloud RADIUS service (which I elected) or set up your own RADIUS server (which I eventually will do). Using PEAP I have authenticated an Ubuntu linux laptop, a Mac air (try specifying WPAv1 on the mac if it doesn't work), a Kindle Fire, an Android phone, and an iPhone as 802.11g devices with a link speed of 55 Mbps. I have authenticated a MAC Pro and a Windows 7 Thinkpad as 802.11n devices with a link speed of 144 Mbps. The cloud/hosted RADIUS providers have very helpful documentation on how to configure your various devices.

Also please note that this is a single band device. The maximum link speed you will be able to get with 802.11n is 144 Mbps. To get a 300 Mbps link speed you will need a dual band device such as the AIR-AP1042N-A-K9.

Magazine Jacket for iPad (3rd generation) Tablets

Magazine Jacket for iPad Tablets
  • Complete iPad protection
  • Durable hardshell construction
  • Snap-on attachment
  • Opens to function as a stand with different angles
  • Protective flap with rubberized exterior

The Incase Magazine Jacket covers and protects the new iPad screen with minimal material and folds away behind the iPad so you can hold it with one hand, prop it up on a flat surface to type on it or prop it up to watch the display like a monitor. It would be nice if it would folded up stayed folded up behind the iPad on its own.

I had the same case for my iPad 2 and loved it. The older model had a nice stretch strap on the back which was great for holding the cover closed, and it also helped to hold the iPad more securely in the palm of my hand. I really wish the new model for the iPad 3 had the stretch strap also.

This new model has a smart magnetic cover which is supposed to wake up and put the iPad to sleep. But I have a screen protector on mine so perhaps that's why this feature does not work.

That said, this is still the nicest case out there, IMO. It maintains the sleek profile of the iPad without adding much bulk, and the cover offers great protection. My last one held up pretty well so I'm happy to have this new one. And I love the cranberry and white combo!

-----------

UPDATE: 12/27/12

After using this case for a week, I had to remove two stars because the cover doesn't wake and sleep the iPad. I looked into this problem and it should not occur even though I have a screen protector. Thus, it can only be a defect.

Furthermore, this case is heavier than the last one for the iPad 2 due to the magnets in the cover. Combined with the extra weight of the iPad itself, the difference is significant.

Read Best Reviews of Magazine Jacket for iPad (3rd generation) Tablets Here

I liked this case when I bought it. But the sleep/wake doesn't work perfectly. It often stays on when I close the cover, which is annoying. Also, less than three months in, two of the plastic corners broke off, and not because it fell. They just 'wore' off and then snapped right off. What the heck? Of course, the damn iPad falls and gets a bang right where the plastic broke off. What does one do 'in case' this happens? I liked the raised ridges to hold it with, but in the end, I'm probably just going to buy a real Apple sleeve cover. Very disappointed the Incase lasted less than six months. Oh, and now holding it is uncomfortable because there's two sharp things on either side. Boo.

Want Magazine Jacket for iPad (3rd generation) Tablets Discount?

To say I LOVE InCase is an understatement. I have owned four of their bags and this iPad holder was BY FAR my favorite. I say, 'was' because I could not be more disappointed with the one I just purchased. I don't know if they redesigned or what... but it is not good. The old one had a bit of a magnetic closure... not unlike the ones from Apple... so the cover stayed snug with the device when closed. This new one just flaps on top... no magnetic closure. It feels cheap as well. The plastic, etc. I had this proven to me when a corner cracked off the edge. Now I am sure it is covered under warranty, but who wants to take the trouble to research how to go about sending it back, taking it to the postal carrier, paying for shipping, etc? It is easier for me to just buy a new case. I am really disappointed as this is not a new case for me. I was a returning customer who LOVED the same case by the same manufacturer... but this new one was very different. Same in appearance only. It is the first disappointment I have had with InCase, but a big one since I expected to be buying a new version of the same case I owned before. I was so wrong. Do not recommend this in any way.

I bought this case as it looked to be a great combination of a smart cover and some back protection, in a lightweight folio style case. It's great, and the new iPad fits in nicely, despite being a bit thicker than the previous model. However, Scosche are now no longer advertising this as a 'new iPad' case, as they say it's no longer 100% compatible with the sleep/wake function on the new iPad. It does seem to put it to sleep but then wakes as the cover moves when you pick it up. You can turn this function off in the settings but if you want this case for it's smart cover then look for something else.

SanDisk SDDR-86-07 6 in 1 USB 2.0 Hi-speed Reader

SanDisk SDDR-86-07 6 in 1 USB 2.0 Hi-speed Reader
  • Hi-Speed USB 2.0 certified for fastest data transfer, with backwards compatiblity with all USB 1.1 ports
  • All four memory slots are active, which allows you to copy data between the different memory cards at the same time
  • Separate reader and docking station for quick desktop/laptop connectivity
  • Easy to use; just drag and drop your files
  • Compatible with Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP and Macintosh OS 9.1x+ and OS X v10.1.2+

With all the digicams I have, I've collected a lot of memory formats and quite a few card readers along the way. None were perfect and none were all that versatile. For example, my Viking combination SmartMedia & CompactFlash required being unplugged and then plugged in again before each use. It was also, as a USB 1.1 device, a tad slow. Recently I got the SanDisk 6-in-1 vertical reader and I have been 100% satisfied. I took it out of the pkg., plugged it directly into the USB 2.0 port, and it self-installed (on WinXP). No power plug is required. Then I opened my junk drawer and found 4 "mystery" cards: a SM32, a CF8, a MS8 & a MMC16 (I think these were all original equipment cards that were quickly replaced by larger ones). Only the CompactFlash 8 was blank. The others all yielded some fun, forgotten about pics that came up on the screen with no prompting whatsoever. Read speed was awesome. This SanDisk unit is a winner at a great price.

Buy SanDisk SDDR-86-07 6 in 1 USB 2.0 Hi-speed Reader Now

I recently bought the 6-in-1 to use with my Sony Memory Stick and SanDisk SD cards. The Memory Sticks worked fine but the SD wouldn't work at all. In fact, as soon as I plugged in an SD card, the Memory Stick would also stop working. I filled in a problem report on the SanDisk website, and by 7:30 am the next morning I had a response. I must admit that I was skeptical of the suggested fix, which was to disable NAV scanning of the boot sector of removable media. However, when I did as suggested, all cards worked fine. Apparently, when NAV scans the SD card, the reader and/or NAV doesn't know how to handle this and disables the card.

I see several comments in this section about similar problems; this may be the cause.

My observations are therefore that it is a good product, quite fast, SanDisk provides excellent support, and the only negative is that they have to develop an upgraded flash for the reader that doesn't have the NAV conflict. Also, since they already knew about this conflict, they should have posted the information in their knowledgebase on the website.

Read Best Reviews of SanDisk SDDR-86-07 6 in 1 USB 2.0 Hi-speed Reader Here

I had high hopes for this reader. The specs are great, and the look, feel, and quality are high. This is a nice package. Unfortunately, for the first time in the last 3 or 4 years that I've been using CF cards and all sorts of readers, THIS reader would only recognize 2 out of 6 of my CF cards. It did recognize my one Memory Stick I had.(I'm running XP, by the way.) Going to the Sandisk site and using their instructions for uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers (which involves editing your Registry!) didn't change a thing. I was extremely disappointed, and have returned the unit for a refund. I'm looking now for another brand's USB 2.0 reader to replace it.

Want SanDisk SDDR-86-07 6 in 1 USB 2.0 Hi-speed Reader Discount?

I got one of these from a supplier other than Amazon. It does not work. It sometimes freezes my Windows 98 SE computer (admittedly a USB 1.1 that this is supposed to be backward compatible for). It does not read the cards properly. I thank the person who suggested disabling NAV, but that didn't work either. ...

Recommend against

I own 6 flash cards of varying types and sizes (3 Compact Flash, 1 SD and 2 Sony memory sticks). 2 of them (1 CF card and 1 memory stick) won't work on this unit, and one (a CF card) causes the whole thing to freeze up and malfuntion.

This device is very buggy and although Sandisk knows about the problems, they will not offer refunds or any type of useful support. They have 2 responses: (1)"You can try to return it to the retailer you bought it from" or (2)"We are trying to determine the cause of the problems and develop a firmware fix, but we don't know when that will be available".

I have spent too many aggravating hours on the phone with a customer service manager. Finally I got fed up and called Amazon.com to let them know that Sandisk is trying to leave retailers holding the bag with their defective products, since they are encouraging customers to ask their retailers for refunds.

Amazon was great, and agreed to accept the product for refund even though I had to maul the packaging to get the unit out when I first received it. They even gave me pre-paid shipping, since the unit is defective.

I would have saved myself a lot of hassle by simply buying a different product in the first place.

This AP is great. It functions well, has very reliable power output, the only complaint is the price. Which often is the case when it comes to Cisco products though eh? Compared to the newer ones which are N capable at high speeds, this one would be more recommended for a lab environment. Although too expensive for a lab if you ask me.

This might be the BEST freaking AP on the market, but Cisco fails at providing any documentation. I mean come on, not everyone is a networking nerd. very down on Cisco for not thinking about this. Wasting my time trying to set this up and getting it working.

I recently installed 2 of these in a large house with a Cisco 2504 WLAN Controller. The initial set up couldn't have been easier after negotiating through the Controller Set up which was not intuitive for me as this was my fist Cisco WLAN Install (I've done others). Remember that these are Controller Based Light-Weight Access Points, these will NOT function stand alone. That said these work as advertized. You connect these to your network and they automatically find the controller and boot up. The range on these is outstanding and the failover works perfectly. The only knocks that I could possibly come up with is they are somewhat large and the LED on them is very bright which in a home is a bit of an issue if installed in certain locations.

GTMax Black Bluetooth Wireless Mini Keyboard with Stylus Pen (Silver Black Red) For Acer ICONIA W510

GTMax Black Bluetooth Wireless Mini Keyboard with Stylus Pen For Acer ICONIA W510/ W700/ A110; Asus VivoTab RT, Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T; Arnova 7 G2; Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ 9, Nook HD 7; Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro / RT; Samsung ATIV TABI am using this keyboard on the Samsung Galaxy S(tm) ll, Epic(tm) 4G Touch while it is attached to the Samsung Dock Cradle on my desk.

Writing and replying to email is just easy and fun. Working great.

I bought this for my Samsung Galaxy S2 so I can type more accurately with tactile feedback, but using this wireless keypad only makes typing twice as inaccurate and frustrating.

Typing at a normal speed will cause certain keys to not register. It seems as though you need to allow the device to pause for a half-second before entering your next character.

Secondly, the device completely screws up the auto-capitalization system. For instance, the wireless keyboard types in all caps after pressing Enter, and you have to press Shift to put the caps back to normal, while the cursor on-screen indicates that the caps are locked.

Then on another instance, holding down shift and pressing a certain key outputted a random symbol. I got fed up with the device shortly after syncing it with my Galaxy S2. This is a terrible product that cannot be used nor taken seriously by anyone. It's definitely not for folks who need to quickly and accurately respond to emails on the fly.

The only redeeming thing about this product are the three styli, which are more useful than the keypad itself. In essence, you're paying $18.97 for 3 styli and an extra mini USB cable, because the keypad itself is an inaccurate, dysfunctional mess.

SteelSeries Siberia V2 Full-Size USB Gaming Headset with Virtual Surround 7.1 Sound (Black)

SteelSeries Siberia V2 Full-Size USB Gaming Headset with Virtual Surround 7.1 Sound
  • Closed ear headphones
  • Pull-out microphone
  • Crystal clear high, low and mid-tones
  • 50mm driver units
  • Lightweight suspension construction
  • Virtual Surround 7.1 USB Soundcard

This is my third USB Microphone/Headset combination. First two were various Logitech lower end units which either broke or became uncomfortable over longer gaming sessions (2+ hours on). These headphones are MUCH more comfortable and a lot less quirky to set up and use than other USB headsets. And the sound is very high quality. I use these for gaming, but the quality for music via iTunes is noticeably better as well.

Downsidesprice. SteelSeries stuff is more expensive and these are no exception. If you are not gaming, don't wear your headset more than an hour at a time or are not that picky on sound quality you may want to go with a cheaper Logitech. But if you have the money, you will not be disappointed with the performance of the Siberia v.2's.

I got this headset as a replacement for a pair of studio-phones (the Audiotechnica ATH-M40fs) that could be worn for long periods of time and have better sound recreation for gaming.

They fit the bill perfectly. The 7.1 surround really gets you into the game. You get a sense of where everything is around you (currently using them while playing Skyrim), and they have enough bass to get that rumble when dragons soar overhead.

The earphones are extremely comfortable for long-term wear, so long as you keep the pads off of your temples. They do not have any drivers sticking up from under the pads like the AT's do. I'm also a full-time glasses wearer, and need to have 'phones that don't put too much pressure on them or make them off-kilter these do not. They're so light and put nearly no pressure on your head.

They're very nice to use as casual music-phones. The little bit of bass is just the right amount for me (as someone who gets headaches from bass), and it brings out a different sound from my music than the studio-phones do.

The only con is that I don't like how thin the cable is on the headphones. I'm positive I'll roll over it one of these days, and then it'll be dead.

I actually bought these headphones from "the egg" computer website as recertified. They arrived in horrible condition, reeking of cigarette smoke and had gum or something on the microphone. I contacted Steelseries and was able to RMA the gross phones. They ended up sending me a BRAND NEW pair of the same headphones.

This isn't my first Steelseries headset (previous models being the 3H for PC and the Siberia Neckband), but it may be my last! At least until they release something that beats it, that is. Or it breaks, whichever comes first. Anyway, moving on.

I actually bought this headset for use with my Astro Mixamp, which unfortunately didn't come in until much later than this headset. Not knowing Astro had changed the hookups for their A40s and thus not knowing that the A40 + Mixamp would NOT come with the cable I needed to use the Siberia V2, I've yet to fully realize this purpose. The Y Adapter is on the way, and I'll update this review after getting to use it for a bit.

I have so far sampled the sound through the Mixamp, and it is excellent. The best of the thousands of dollars of headsets I've used over the last few years.

Now, I can say, the USB sound card that comes with this headset is excellent. It may not be as good as the Mixamp, but I'm not sure anything compares in that case. It had very clear surround sound, and was a breeze to setup and configure.

The headset itself is the most comfortable I've ever had the pleasure of placing on my head. More comfortable than the Siberia Neckband, which I fell asleep while wearing the first night of owning it. This headset auto adjusts to your head. No need to wrestle with tightening, loosening or with it sliding out of position. It holds on tight, and stays comfortable while doing so.

Having recently gotten a pair of Astro A40s as well, I had a very clear line with which to compare. The A40s only arrived last week, so I've been using them to judge which headset I'll ultimately use with the Mixamp. After comparing sound quality in games, music, and movies (Avengers Assemble!) over the last week, I can say for sure that when my Y adapter arrives I WILL be using the Siberia V2 over the Astro A40. At least when it comes to sound sound quality.

I've always been a fan of the pull out microphone on the Steelseries headsets, and this one picks up my voice better than any of the others. As of right now, the only microphone I would choose over this one is the A40s boom mic, and only barely.

The bottom line is this: if you're looking for a PC headset on a budget (or not), I highly recommend this one. If you're planning to use the included USB sound card, it works wonderfully. If you have, or are planning to get, an Astro Mixamp it works amazingly with that as well (microphone comparisons through the Mixamp coming later).

I know i only talked about it in comparison to the A40, but here is the complete list of headsets it was being compared to:

Turtle Beach X1

Turtle Beach X11

Turtle Beach X12

Tritton AX720

Razer Carcharias

Razer Moray+ Earbuds

Sony PSP Go Earbuds w/ Inline Mic

Astro A40

Steelseries Siberia Neckband

Steelseries 3H

I work full-time in a call center wearing a headset, and I needed a headset I could wear at home for gaming that is lightweight and comfortable for 4+ hrs so I could still have some long gaming sessions after a day at work. If you're in a similar situation, look no further. This headset is feather-light, THE most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. Some of the highlights of this product:

* lightweight and ergonomically designed. It may look a little cheap and plastic-y, but don't let that fool you most of the framework has metal inside that gives it a solid, yet light feel.

* the tension band works in concert with the earpads to provide even pressure across the head. It almost doesn't feel like you're wearing it.

* the pull-out mic is a flexible metal tube that seems pretty durable.

* the 50 mm drivers have GREAT bass reproduction. There's only one other pair of headphones I've ever listened to before that could reproduce bass as well as these. They may not be audiophile quality, but they're definitely above average.

* analog 3.5mm jacks allow you to hook these into nearly anything. I bought a 3.5mm RJ9 adapter cable so I could possibly use them at work as well on the phone. Haven't tested out this setup yet.

* the USB soundcard produces "ok" sound (not anything better or worse than my laptop's). The 7.1 surround feature of the USB software is a bit gimmicky, but is noticeably different from regular 2-channel audio mode. According to the manufacturer, they include the soundcard not b/c it's supposed to produce better audio than a laptop card, so much as because it has its own internal processor that offloads some computational work from the computer, hopefully improving gaming performance.

* a nice side-feature is that a 3.5mm extension cable is included. The length of the cable that is permanently attached to the headset is just long enough for an mp3 player to be connected to it in your pocket. If you need a longer cord when sitting at your computer, you've already got the extension cables to prevent any discomfort with short-cord problems.

I've tried a few different cheaper headsets and finally decided to spend the big bucks on these not because they're necessarily the best audio quality (though for me, these are eargasm quality), but because they're very ergonomic. You can wear these things for hours and not feel it at all afterward.

This review is for the Siberia V2 USB Gaming headset.

So you (the reader) can have a sense of reference for my review, let me start off by saying that I am a PC gamer and planned on using this headset primarily for that purpose alone.

As a gamer I am interested in the following:

1) Sound quality

2) Comfort

3) Directional sound

4) Design/construction of headset

5) Drivers/software

The games I wanted to use it for were: Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3, Portal 2, and others (as I purchased/played them). That being said, I can not and will not cover any movies or music usage aspects of this headset in my review, since I am not an expert at those two at all.

I have recently tried out the Corsair Vengeance 1500 USB Headset as well (my review can be found on there too), and decided to go with the Steelseries V2 Siberia.

1) SOUND QUALITY = A

Really, really good. The virtual 7.1 surround sound (achievable with the included USB sound card) actually works! The 50mm drivers sound wonderful and are able to accurately reproduce everything from base-rich explosions to light footsteps.

I personally did not hear any background "hissing" sounds. And my mic quality was superb as well (verified with friends over Skype, in-game voice).

2) COMFORT = A

I really think THIS is where Steelseries has an edge over other similarly-priced headsets. Their design (although appearing flimsy) allows for an insanely comfortable fit. I do not have a very large head, nor do I have over-sized ears, but most of the other headsets were uncomfortable for me (the Corsair Vengeance felt like it was constantly squeezing my head). This is not so with these! I can wear them for hours and not feel ANY discomfort. While the leather ear pads are very comfortable, they affect the "breathability" aspect and it becomes somewhat warm around the ears after a long session of gaming. However, that is something that you'd have to deal with no matter which headset you get, if it has (p)leather cushions.

3) DIRECTIONAL SOUND = A

Great! As mentioned earlier, the 7.1 surround sound works very well with the included USB soundcard. There's even a nifty little test you can do from within the software, to test out the speaker placement. It allows you to literally see the sound direction it's playing for you on the monitor. It felt very accurate to me!

Secondly, I had no issues with sound direction whatsoever in the games I played.

4) DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION = A-

While I love the headset, its construction does appear to be a little flimsy. The top headband is a very thin cushioned strip that is connected via two paper-clip type strands to springs within the ear pieces.

The mic can be taken out or retracted into the ear-piece. This not only looks cool but is very very functional. This is by far my favorite feature on this headset! My only thing is, when the mic is pushed-in all the way, it still sticks out slightly (by less than a quarter of an inch, mind you). This leads me to believe that the winding mechanism inside the ear-piece isn't terribly precise. Which is fine because you can't really tell that mic is not fully retracted by merely a few millimeters, but it is an indicator of craftsmanship. At the end of the day, in my case at least, the headset is just going to be sitting on my desk if I'm not using it, so the "strong-enough construction" factor is really not that important.

Overall though, the design of the headset is very cool and it does look and feel phenomenal. The in-line controls are nothing fancy but completely functional and intuitive.

5) DRIVER/SOFTWARE = B+

The software isn't terribly intuitive but it does its job. It's got some cool features like the ability to turn 7.1 on/off with a click of a button and a surround sound test that lets you see on the screen the directional speakers that the headset is trying to imitate.

The driver shows the headset as a "USB PnP Sound Device", which is fine really for all intents and purposes, but it shows the amount of programing polish and time that went into the software side of things for this headset; they didn't bother to create fully-formed drivers that actually spelled-out the name of the device itself ("Steelseries Siberia V2 USB Headset").

Lastly, the accompanying software, again, lacks the polished look and feel that you'd expect from a popular audio device manufacturer. It looks more like something that a small start-up created for their new product. However, since it does its job, and does it well, the bells and whistles beyond that are really unnecessary anyway.

>>CONCLUSION: Awesome headset with no major issues in any arena. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a virtual 7.1 USB headset for PC gaming, for under $100. It's comfort and functionality really make it a contender with the higher-priced headsets too!

P.S. Contrary to most of the other low reviews on this product due to "Wrong product received", I received the exact headset outlined on this page and I actually got it within 1-day instead of 2 (thank you Amazon Prime)!
