PalmOne PalmConnect Serial Kit
- Synchronizes your Mac and Palm handheld with the touch of a button
- Connects HotSync cradle or cable to Mac serial printer or modem port
- Kit includes updated Palm Desktop software
- Replaces MacPac 90200U
- Compatible with Palm III series, V, or VII handhelds
The ONLY gripe I can give it is that the price is a little high for a simple serial adapter and software you can download from Palm's web site. Adding insult to injury is the fact that PC users get everything they need out-of-the-box (at least with the Palm IIIxe) to HotSync, while we MacUsers have to wait for delivery of another product. I didn't look around for less expensive serial adapters, and obviously the convenience of having the software on CD-ROM beats a slow download any day. Still, it does feel a little unfair at times.I ordered a Palm m500 and knew I would be connecting to an older Mac without a USB port. After spending quite a bit of time on the Palm web site and not finding much info, a Google search lead me back to Amazon.com and this kit.. When I got the Palm I realized I needed a Serial cradle. I think I'll also need the connect kit to connect to the modem or printer port. It would be nice if this kind of info was more readily available.. Oh well, it the price to pay for being both a Mac user and not up on the latest technology. But I do have a USB cradle in case I ever upgrade my MAc

I had the same case for my iPad 2 and loved it. The older model had a nice stretch strap on the back which was great for holding the cover closed, and it also helped to hold the iPad more securely in the palm of my hand. I really wish the new model for the iPad 3 had the stretch strap also. This new model has a smart magnetic cover which is supposed to wake up and put the iPad to sleep. But I have a screen protector on mine so perhaps that's why this feature does not work.
That said, this is still the nicest case out there, IMO. It maintains the sleek profile of the iPad without adding much bulk, and the cover offers great protection. My last one held up pretty well so I'm happy to have this new one. And I love the cranberry and white combo!
-----------
UPDATE: 12/27/12
After using this case for a week, I had to remove two stars because the cover doesn't wake and sleep the iPad. I looked into this problem and it should not occur even though I have a screen protector. Thus, it can only be a defect.
Furthermore, this case is heavier than the last one for the iPad 2 due to the magnets in the cover. Combined with the extra weight of the iPad itself, the difference is significant.

I liked this case when I bought it. But the sleep/wake doesn't work perfectly. It often stays on when I close the cover, which is annoying. Also, less than three months in, two of the plastic corners broke off, and not because it fell. They just 'wore' off and then snapped right off. What the heck? Of course, the damn iPad falls and gets a bang right where the plastic broke off. What does one do 'in case' this happens? I liked the raised ridges to hold it with, but in the end, I'm probably just going to buy a real Apple sleeve cover. Very disappointed the Incase lasted less than six months. Oh, and now holding it is uncomfortable because there's two sharp things on either side. Boo.Want Magazine Jacket for iPad (3rd generation) Tablets Discount?
To say I LOVE InCase is an understatement. I have owned four of their bags and this iPad holder was BY FAR my favorite. I say, 'was' because I could not be more disappointed with the one I just purchased. I don't know if they redesigned or what... but it is not good. The old one had a bit of a magnetic closure... not unlike the ones from Apple... so the cover stayed snug with the device when closed. This new one just flaps on top... no magnetic closure. It feels cheap as well. The plastic, etc. I had this proven to me when a corner cracked off the edge. Now I am sure it is covered under warranty, but who wants to take the trouble to research how to go about sending it back, taking it to the postal carrier, paying for shipping, etc? It is easier for me to just buy a new case. I am really disappointed as this is not a new case for me. I was a returning customer who LOVED the same case by the same manufacturer... but this new one was very different. Same in appearance only. It is the first disappointment I have had with InCase, but a big one since I expected to be buying a new version of the same case I owned before. I was so wrong. Do not recommend this in any way.Great caseFlaws:not 100% protection on top and bottom.
Cover has no way to fix itself to back so it flops around
Stress on hinge when holding it will deform and stretch plastic hinge over time

There is another very nice feature on this case that makes that nicety a little less relevant. You can talk on the phone with the case closed! This may not seem to be a big deal but it keeps the oil from your face off the touch screen when you're using the phone. In addition, you can use the camera with the case closed. These thoughtful features alone make this a great case but it is also very nicely made and fits the phone very nicely. I could do without the Boxware logo imprinted on the cover but with all of the great features and a super price, that's just nit picking!Very nice case, it protects the phone very well without being bulky. It would be nice to have little rings to be able to hang it on your neck, but this is a detailI really like this case. It is well designed and allows for easy access to all functions and ports on the phone. It also does a nice job of protecting the phone from everyday bumps that happen. This product is what I had hoped it would be and works great. It fits like a glove and with the belt clip makes life more convenient. The phone is easily available and the cover is easy open and close. It even affords the storage of an extra micro card, if wanted. I have attached the stylus to through a hole in the cover so I always have it available to use. All around, I would recommend the purchase of this cover for anyone looking for a stylish leather cover that is function and has a great fit. This is a beautifully made case, sufficiently rigid to keep the Omnia (a SmartPhone) from buttdialing and taking pictures when it's in my purse or pocket.
I wish it came in other colors besides black; red would make it easier to see where my phone is.
The case could benefit from a loop to secure the Omnia's stylus. (Samsung has designed only a tether, so the stylus is always dangling.)
I'd sure buy the case again, though, and would recommend it to a friend.

put the battery in? NOTHING. My wife had ordered the product like 6 weeks before the grandkids came for visit so she'd have it in time. It sat here wrapped up as a present. When she contacted the seller she was informed she'd had it too long (6 weeks or sommat) and therefore would only get half credit on a refund.Won't be buying from that seller (or manufacturer again) Could be they're peddling factory "seconds" jccampbSomeone gave this to my son for his birthday and he was excited while opening it. Then we realized the bulb was not working, which made the entire microscope unusable. I wrote to the company and a customer rep promised to mail us a bulb. That was 4 months ago. We are stilll waiting. Clearly they do not make good on their products. This one should have been taken off the market.

Palm Tungsten W
However, I travel internationally all the time. I bought this unit to replace my dual-band Treo 270. It's not that the Treo was not cutting it; it's that I wanted a tri-band PDA. Imagine my surprise when I called in to get the unlock code and they told me, nope, you can't have it. I quickly asked for my RMA number.
Too bad. If Palm would recognize that the market for cell phones is a commodity-based one, with people using SIMs so that they _can_ switch phones easily (thus the idea of a SIM card in the first place), they'd get a lot more sales. I hope AT&T paid them a good bit of money for the exclusivity. If not, ...they are losing sales. Like mine :-(I've had the Palm Tungsten W since back in April 2003. I only have voice service. The unit has a very slow processor (33Mhz), which is fine for most applications, until I try viewing pictures with the included Photobase software. It takes about 20 seconds for a picture to load (which is incredibly slow when trying to view a slideshow). But the biggest complaint I have about the Tungsten W is Palm's choice to use the special 3-conductor Nokia 2.5mm headset jack, instead of the more common 2-conductor Universal 2.5mm headset jack. Anyone who owns this unit will testify that the included handsfree headset is a pain to deal with. Unfortunately, the product selection of Nokia's 2.5mm headsets is limited, and do not include over-the-head headsets, which is the type of headset I'm after. I've had to purchase a clumsy adapter (available at AT&T Wireless stores) in order to use Universal 2.5mm headsets, but everytime the adapter plug rotates in the Tungsten W's headset jack, the Mobile phone application comes on. This is a pain when I am trying to write a note or enter a phone number, and all of a sudden, the wind blows, rotating the adapter's plug just a few degrees, and now the Mobile phone application is on. In addition, if the adapter plug is rotated to certain angles, I cannot hear anyone speaking on the phone at all, so I have to rotate it back a tweak. Such a pain !! And it could all have been avoided if Palm had gone with the common Universal 2.5mm headset jack instead !!This is my fifth Palm device, starting with the original Pilot. My employer contracts with AT&T Wireless for our mobile service, so the prospect of reducing the silicone baggage was appealing (formerly carried Palm Vx, Blackberry, and Sony Ericsson T68i).
Unfortunately, the device has been a disappointment. The ergonomics are dreadful in comparison with the Blackberry, or a Nokia phone. The lack of notification when a text message (other than SMS) is a deficiency. The phone is unsafe to use in a motor vehicle, so I've had to activate a second, in-car phone & number. The original, largely Grafitti-based input functions common to previous Palms are much easier to use than the Tungsten's choice of the tiny mechanical keyboard or the tap-to-select on-screen version.
The device is very choosy about where it charges. I have three cradles, plus the travelling adapter with 110V and 12V (cigarette lighter) connections. One of the three cradles won't charge it, and it refuses to accept juice from an auto cigarette lighter, either. I have not found the battery life to be a problem, as described in one of the other reviews, though.
Web surfing is OK, some sites won't allow it access, but for what I use it for, it's acceptable. Being GSM, though, there are parts of the country where there is no coverage I know this from my prior phone.
Finally, after five weeks' ownership, the annoying wired earpiece necessary to use the phone feature hooked on an obstruction once too often, and evidently damaged the jack. Now, the whole shooting match has to go back to Palm for repair.
All in all, I'm afraid I've pushed the technolgical envelope too far this time.

I bought it yesterday and have returned it today! All features other than the integrated gsm phone/ wireless service are same as the earlier model Tungsten "T". So presumably one would pay the extra buck for the advantage of having a phone/pda combo. Right? Unfortunately the ONLY service provider with which it can work with is AT&T. As per the words of a Palm tech rep., "This is a SIM lock device"! Meaning that the only SIM card that would work is the one that is provided in the box by AT&T. It is not like a normal tri band GSM phone in which you can put in a SIM card from any wireless service provider and you can use it in the coverage areas of your service provider. So only two group of people can use this deivce. Fristly, those who do not want to use it as a phone and only want to use it as a PDA. To them I would say why dont you get a nicer PDA like something from Sony, or HP, or the Palm Tungsten T. And secondly those people who are willing to subscribe to the AT&T serivce plan. I dont live in US and have never been a coustomer with AT&T, however I know firstly that limiting a deivce to only one service provider is purely logic deprived, in general for all users and particularly for users who travel abroad and want to use SIM cards from local serivce providers. And the other fact is that the reviews on AT&T wireless service are far from satisfactory. So in short this Tungsten model has no advantage over the Tungsten T. As a PDA it may be good. But then why pay the extra $$$$ for having a phone/pda combination.

Good deal price-wise.
Would recommend to others. These are great if you have truoble using a smartphone ude to large fingers or longer fingernails. They also help redyce screen smudge from the oild in your fingers. Its also great that these come in a large value pack because I seem to loose these like I do writing pens. THe colors are fun and the price is a real value. These are the best styli i've ever found to be useful. So much so, I gave 3 of them away to my mom and her partner. They liked them, too.As a woman with fingernails, it is very difficult to type on my smart phone, and even my tablet. A stylus is a "must" for me, and if you go to Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, Staples, or other places like that, they will charge you $10-$20 for just ONE stylus. These are a bargain, and you can gift them to your friends.

Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000 for Business

After using it for a while I wish I had bought this earlier. Typing is smooth and having the convenience of wireless is great. As mentioned, I am a gamer so I was concerned about latency with the keyboard, but after running all types of games I haven't noticed one issue at all.
I recommend this to anybody wanting a great wireless keyboard.

I purchased this keyboard for my new set up at my house and it was working great, despite the 'G' key. Every time I would press the 'G' key it would output a 'B' as well. I contacted the seller and they were not very helpful about the return due to their policy. To have returned it through them would have been more hassle than helpful. So in turn I contacted Microsoft to discuss the malfunction, by this time other keys had just stopped working all together, and they informed me that this is a package piece that only comes with a mouse. This seller(Galactics) or any other seller offering this keyboard alone is purchasing this product splitting them and selling them, due to the way they store the products until they ship them I believe this and being shipped outside of the original package loosely placed in another box caused the issues. I received a replacement from Microsoft, who generously sent me the original business 2000 package with mouse, which now it works amazingly!! The keyboard and mouse that come with this package are amazing quality, just insure if you receive them they are in original packaging and not tampered with.Read Best Reviews of Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000 for Business Here
A very nice full sized keyboard. Has a nice palm rest at the bottom and works great. I don't use all of the extra keys on top for I have no real use for them. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good full sized wireless keyboard.Want Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000 for Business Discount?
The only problem I find with this keyboard is that it does not have a mute button. Volume up/down work fine, but no seperate mute button.I agree with all that others have written about the keyboard (See Microsoft wireless desktop 2000 keyboard). However, be aware that the wireless tranceiver for the bare keyboard will tell your computer that it is also controlling a pointing device. Which means you have a phantom mouse. If your touchpad is set to shut off when another pointing device is detected, you'll be mouseless. And, you'll use two USB ports if you want a mouse and this keyboard. (I don't know what happens if you have a Model 2000 mouse, mine is a Model 3500.I got a powered USB Hub to get around the problem of not enough ports. (I use the keyboard with a wired USB Marble Mouse and larger monitor, when going portable I either use my Model 3500 wireless mouse, or the touchpad.)

Zoom Telephonics Docsis 3.0 Modem Cable (5341-02-00H)
- Zoom Telephonics Docsis 3.0 Modem Cable
After researching the supported modems listed on Cox's website that supported DOCSIS 3.0, there were basically only two that were readily available at that time. The "Zoom 5341", and the "Motorola SB6120". Since they were both about the same price, and with the number of negative reviews on the Motorola, I decided to go with the Zoom. For those that may not be familiar with the Zoom brand, they have been around a long time. I remember them back in the old days of dial up modems, back before the Internet existed. A quick google search reveals that they sold their first 300 baud modem back in 1983 (dang I'm getting old).
After getting my new modem setup with Cox, and while it was still directly connected to my PC (no router), I ran a speed test, which was blazzing fast compared to my old modem. Part of the reason for the fast speed is, Cox has a feature called "Speed Boost", which only works with DOCSIS 3.0 modems.
After connecting it back through my router, my speeds went way down. Hmmmm, what's up with that? Turns out my router only has a 10 Mbps WAN port. I bought a new gigabit router (with wireless) and everything has been working great for the last several months now. No problems at all with the Zoom modem (or the new router). Yeah, I love it when a product does what it is supposed to :)
Buy Zoom Telephonics Docsis 3.0 Modem Cable (5341-02-00H) Now
Moved from DSL to Comcast cable so I thought I'd buy my own modem. I gave the modem info (MAC address, etc.,) to Comcast over my lunch break. Came back after work and installed the modem and it was recognized and connected fairly easily within 10 minutes. The download speed now is 30Mbps and the upload is about 6Mbps. My coaxial cable connections at home are fairly new and I connected the modem to a 1GB router port.I think this is a great performance for the price that Amazon lists, which is fairly close to the price at Best Buy and others. I can't tell the difference between the successive hardware versions for this same modem (i.e., G vs. H) but it seems like it's now coming towards the end of its model production run. I only wish if it had a telephone jack, too.

Hey guys. I'm a Comcast business class customer and this works great for me. I have a stronger signal in my bedroom (opposite side of the house) than I did with my Comcast modem, I can even stream movies in my bedroom on my iPad now, something I wasn't able to do before.Regarding Comcast device protocol I was told by their tech department that even though they could "see" it was working, it wasn't one of their two approved devices for replacement of their modem (and subsequent $7.00/mo modem fee being waived). However, I called back the rep who opened my account several times and I spoke with several people in customer service and now they have removed the monthly modem fee from my account and gave me a credit back to the beginning of my service (several months back).
I definitely recommend this for Comcast customers. You might have a little resistance but be persistent.

Skinomi TechSkin - Screen Protector Ultra Clear Shield for Apple iPod Touch 2010 (4th Generation) +
- Compatible with Apple iPod Touch (4th Generation)
- Virtually indestructible film with unmatched "invisible" screen clarity
- Made from the same film material used to protect military aircraft
- Smooth, non-sticky surface with patented layer of UV protection to prevent "yellowing"
- Manufacturer Lifetime Replacements
Unlike the other reviews that this product has received, I actually got the right product the first time around. The outline and the hole for the camera and button are correct and practically exact.
Now unlike other films/screen protectors, you will only receive ONE film, so your margin of error is going to be smaller than getting a 2 or 3 pack. Application is not as easy as just setting it on the screen as close to target as possible, but is done using a liquid solution that is provided by skinomi, that you apply to your fingers and to the screen. This allows for less than perfect application with adjustment, but really you should try setting it down as perfectly as possible anyways.
The kicker is of course the fact that once you've positioned it perfectly, you actually have to wait anywhere between 12-24 hrs so that the liquid dries off. That's right, up to 24 hrs without so much as turning on that iPod of yours. Now for the impatient of us, this is some sick waiting period.
Now I picked mine up after 18 hrs, and it looked as if there was never as liquid at all. Surprised, I turned it on, and there wasn't that much of a perceptible difference in how the screen/images looked. The screen felt smooth, and didn't dirty as easily. The best part? I intentionally scratched the screen. nails and light key passes. It appears at least for the key passes, but heals pretty quickly.
Using it for the past 2 days, I don't see anything wrong with it, for those who are hard on their electronics, this is probably worth the price and application procedure, if not a bargain. As to those that want a fast screen protector that can be used right after application, with the harshest thing their screens ever suffer from is your greasy fingers, best to look for another one. This screen protector has no cut-outs and really IS over-sized for the screen, I have some hanging off the edge, was a pain to install since it didn't fit the ipod touch. I'm assuming I was sent a different product, this is hopefully where lifetime replacements come in handy!!
*After emailing skinomi's support they immediately sent a replacement free of charge, The company seems to be aware of the problem.
The quality is really high, I even scratched it with my fingernail and it actually disappeared later on! It is really clear after the wait-period and it is smooth to the touch!*I only gave this four stars in the "ease of application" section because I've yet to find a screen saver that's easy to apply. However...this is easier than most. The spray makes it easy to get the screen saver in the right position because you can slip it around till you get it right. I don't have any bubbles because of this, and no lint particles stuck underneath either.
As for durability, it's great. I got a new iPod Touch mid-December and after only three days the internal speaker blew. I had already applied the screen saver, but decided to pull it off to see if I could reuse it. It looked a little funky and misshapen, but I washed it clean with soap & water. Once I exchanged my broken iPod Touch for a new one I reapplied the screen saver and it worked just fine. I've had it for almost a month now and it's not lifting up the screen looks great. Highly recommend. This screen protector may have a few more steps for installation and require a bit of patience for the curing process, but it is well worth it. The application process was easy enough; just spray your fingers and the protector with the included solution, position on the device, squeegee the excess solution away, and wait a few hours before using. Any microbubbles or orange peel texture diminishes over a few days. The cutout for the home button was slightly too large in diameter, but alignment for it and the front facing camera is spot on. The size of the protector is perfect and shouldn't get in the way of cases for the iPod. I'm using a Sonix Snap case, and replaced the poor screen protector that came wih that case with the Skinomi protector, and I couldnt be any happier with the overall protection (and aesthetics) of my iPod touch.I received my protector earlier than I expected. I never had a protector before bit this came highly recommended. I'm glad I listened. If you follow the instructions it's a breeze. I would definitely recommend this

with a retail price of about $300. and a $100 rebate how could you go wrong?! i have had a pda for as long as i can remember and they just keep getting better. i went from having the original palm pilot to a handspring visor to a jornada 525 pocket pc and now this. in comparison to my old jornada, the v36 is faster, thinner, lighter and has more built-in memory. other features i like are the removeable battery pack (so you can carry a spare) and the stylus has a removeable twist off end piece to reveal a pointed end for those inevitable resets, so no more searching for a paper clip or pen to reset. the camera feature is nice but with today's camera technology in cell phones it could be better. some cell phone camera's have a small flash which would help the viewsonic alot and a better resolution would be nice too (1.0 megapixel would do). once in awhile i used my jornada as an mp3 player and it sucked the battery life out of the pda, maybe a good 2-3 hours before the battery need recharging. the viewsonic battery life does fair better at about 3-4 hours at full power. which bring me to another nice feature, the viewsonic has a "tunable" power setting (full, medium or low). unfortunately, i havent tested battery life at the time of this review at the low setting.another complaint i have is that i can not use all my compact flash accessories (modem, wireless and expansion memory) from my jornada on the viewsonic (uses mmc/sd type cards), but i can live with it.

The ViewSonic was a gift. This is my first pocket PC and though there are many more expensive models out there I can't imagine what they would do better. The camera works. It's a little clumsy, but the pictures are fine. I've a digital camera, so the camera is no big deal. Being a writer what mattered to me was the ability to download things I was working on to rework and edit when I was not at my regular computer. This it does beautifully. I can listen to audiobooks. I just bought one that's difficult to read, but easy to listen to. I can do my writing anywhere. I'm not the most orgazized person in the world (which is why this was a gift from my wife) and now I have all my tasks and dates I need to keep track of neatly stored. I also have easy access to any research or notes. It does everything I would want a pocket PC to do. Doing all you want it to do is the best you can get from any product. Oh, and the price is great too.Want ViewSonic V36 Pocket PC Discount?
Based on the rebates and price drops for this product, it was high on my consideration list. That is, until I picked one up.The device is VERY plastic-feeling and flimsy. It does not feel solid at all, unlike the Palm Tungsten models or HP models. Many of the store models were banged up and very scratched. My current Palm has been banging around in my purse for two years and has no big scratches. Also of note, the salesperson told me that a high percentage of them were coming back defective. It also only comes with PocketPC 2002, most of the new applications won't work on this device.
The screen is slightly smaller than most PDAs on the market now. It was hard to read in some brighter areas of the store, so I can imagine it would be horrible outside.
It has great features for this price range, including the built in camera. But the resolution leaves MUCH to be desired. The sound is so-so on it without the headphones on, you can't put it up high or it sounds muffled. I was not able to test it with headphones on, so I can't tell you much about volume, etc.
If this is your first PDA, it's a good starting point. I wouldn't expect it to last more than a year or two of moderate use, it just doesn't seem built solidly enough. Keep in mind, that you do get what you pay for with this model. If you're looking to get a pocketpc for just contact management, go with a lower-end model and save some money. If multimedia is your thing skip this and get an ipaq or Clie.
There are many sales and rebates going on now at different sites. Palm Zire 71 for the multimedia capabilities it offers, has some great rebates. Also, windows is offering many on its PocketPC devices. After all, you want a PDA that you can use effectively, not one you worry about breaking or banging up, right?
**edit to add that several months later my two friends that bought this model were both so disapointed at performance that they went and bought different brands/different models!**
If my review was helpful to you please vote for it. If you have any questions you can shoot me an IM at "WinterGetsMe" Thanks!Don't you love reviews? One guy says he's had problems with his V36. I don't doubt. However, I experienced the same symptoms he described after I loaded software that did not support Pocket PC 2003. Another one says it's too light. Too light? For a Pocket PC? Personally, I think that's impossible. The point is, for the money the V36 is tough to beat. The camera is nice if you need to take a snapshot of a whiteboard or something. Not great. But what you get is a fully functioning, good quality PDA that easily holds it's own for a lot less than the HP's and Tungsten. That's what I was looking for. That is exactly what I got. I'm happy.

The texture on it is close to a basketball, but not as rough/rubbery. It looks very nice though and is great for any sports enthusiast. We love this case. I have a 7 year old boy who's a basketball junkie. He loves the case and shows everyone his basketball case where ever he takes the Ipad!!!!This says it is for the new iPad 3, but it fits perfectly for the iPad2 as well. This cover is great! I got this for my 13 year old son who loves basketball. He was very shocked that they even make a case like this so he feels that he is very original because of its uniqueness. The case not only feels like a real basketball but it also has the most sought after "Auto Sleep and Wake" design built it, which means as soon as you close the cover it goes into "sleep mode" automatically. Basketball enthusiast look no further, if you are looking for a cool way to "trick out" your iPad 2 and 3 this is it!!
