CardScan 600c - Sheetfed scanner - USB

OK so the title is only half right I really can't type. That's why this little machine is a godsend.

I'm a computer builder and programmer by trade so I get lots of people who ask me what they should buy in the way of toys. Without question if you "collect" business cards this is a must have.

Installation is a no-brainer and the software is better than what would be expected. I would say that the export features in the software will take care of 99% of PIMS and DBF's that people frequently use.

Sure its a pain in the arse to verify every card you scan but once your collection is added you will only be doing a few a week and that's not so bad.

As with all current OCR that has to work with many fonts and styles you are going to get errors. The included OCR software really does a above average job of getting it right the first time. Better than my typing it in that's for sure.

Another nice feature is that you get a stored copy of your card you scanned. Why is that important? If your eyesight is going like mine, seeing the card at 300% resolution for correction is far easier than reading 6 point type from people who feel they need a life story on a business card.

I could go on and on but this is a top notch product. So why only 4 stars?

Until OCR can get it right 10 out of 10 times I can't say its perfect. This unit is pretty darn close though and well worth the money.

I have a bunch of business cards collected through out the years about 500+. Things where very hectek going through them, even the latest rolodex couldn't handle that much. But the cardscan solution is amazing.I reaserched it for a while and couldn't find a better product. When my wife got it for my birthday I was very exited and opened it out and set it up in few minutes. But I was really surprised when the cardscanning went like a brease over many different patterns and fonts. The ones that had realy difficult patterns hard to see by eye the card scan tried its best and I had to make minor corrections in some of the fields.

The only reason I'm giving it a 4 not a 5 is because it couldn't work with my Lotus Notes Mail Client. It can export to it but it cannot launch it and send a mail directly from cardscan.

I do recommend this to anyone who wants to stop spending more time looking for business card than the actual phone call to be made. I use to find the price high but now I can see it is well worth it.

Tired of the piles of business cards on the desk? This may be the solution to a clean desk. The scanner scans each business card and the software places the text into its corresponding fields in the address book. The scanned image goes in the address book entry.

The Cardscan Executive advertises that it will print in all the typical planner formats, Daytimer, Dayrunner, Franklin etc. It doesn't do what it says. The right edge of the page is cut off losing important information like half a phone number or half an email address. Technical Support was no help, they said "it's a defect with the program". None of the advertised formats on the pull down menu worked, or using the edit format feature. Users cannot change the width of the fields. Other than that it's a pretty cool product.

These are very thin knitted flat gloves. The thumbs are not set to one side, but gloves have no left or right. I had to sew the thumb to the palm as there was a large hole. Very poorly made. Not warm at all. Late spring or early fall is all they're good for.

One star is as low as ratings go but I'd give these a half.

These look and feel pretty cheap, but worst of all...they stink!! They have a weird chemical smell, and it stays with you for a while after removing the gloves. I bought a few pairs of these for Christmas gifts, but they're too stinky, so I kept them. I should have just sent them back. They do work on devices, but at what cost? I'm afraid of what chemical is seeping onto and into my skin!!

This is a very cool little slip case that fits my Zire 31 perfectly. Just slip it in and snap the strap closed (magnetic) and you're good to go. Good for people that want to protect their palm while in your pocket or purse because it's not bulky like most cases. The only thing missing is credit card slots, etc. but it works just fine for me. I have a small purse and have no problem carrying it and all of my normal stuff. A great product!!

Love my case. The Zire 31 fits snugly inside the case and the magnetic clip insures that it does not come out of the case. It also protects the palm from those of us who spill things, and it cleans up well!

I have gotten more than a few comments (and a few compliments) on the case. It makes for a nice ice breaker for meetings etc.

This is very cute and made with a good material. It is made of thick rubbery-ish plastic and looks very cute (I've had lots of compliments on the pattern). It was received in a timely manner and in great condition with very good instructions but...even with the instructions, the front sticker was difficult to align correctly because of how thin the sides of the sticker are. Also, it should be noted that a screen protector doesn't really work with this because most of them extend all the way to the very edge of the sides of the phone and this sticker is there. I ended up taking off the front sticker (leaving the back stickers in place), putting a soft clear plastic case on the phone and using a screen saver for the front which has worked out great.

Even though this is the smallest one in the food chain at 2.8 inches for the screen, it does not dissapoint. VERY good resistive screen and android is cool!

I bought this from Tiger Direct through Amazon. It came quickly and worked fine right out of the box. Comes with cable to charge/program from your computer and small earphones without a headband.

It comes with Android 2.1, but an upgrade to Android 2.2 is available. I had a little trouble downloading the upgrade, seems like the Archos servers are very busy in the evening. I tried again in the morning, early, and it worked first try.

Very nice little MP3 player, very light, fits easily in my pocket. Music sounds good. Easy to load music from the PC, just copy it over like it was a flash drive. Earphones are pretty lame, a $5 pair of Panasonic phones with a headband work fine though.

As a portable computer it is really a little too small. Quarter VGA screen. Touchscreen works but not as well as other devices. Screen is too small so you need something smaller than your finger to type with. A ballpoint pen cap seems to work well in the on-screen keyboard.

App Store is not the Google store but an Archos store. Wants you to sign up with PayPal for paid apps, but when I tried to do that the link was busted. Free apps are fun. I saw postings that said how to install the Google app store but have not tried it.

WiFi range is a tad short. Works throughout the upstairs of my house (access point is upstairs on one end of the house) but does not work well downstairs in the family room. Probably too much metal heating duct, etc, in the way but that never bothered laptop computers.

Overall, a nice little toy for listening to music and playing with Android.

This product (Archos 28 internet tablet) would be great except for one little problem: It constantly (every 1 to 10 minutes)drops its wifi link. That takes all the fun out of streaming audio. It drops on my home network about 10 feet from the router. Not only that but, my laptop usually sees 5 to 6 wifi connections from my home. The Archos in the same location sees only one. I did get the Archos to connect at a couple of public hot spots but it soon locked up on one and dropped the link on the other.

It does make a nice pocket photo viewer or mp3 player (if you USB those in from your PC) and the screen is surprisingly responsive.

It will also run Android apps but that brings up another problem or series of problems with the 28 being how to load applications. It doesn't have access to the Google market (unless you use an unofficial hack). The Archos came with a 3rd party marketplace that is not bad but you may want to use other sources as well. You are not limited to using a market and many app programmers make their software available for download on their own sites. Many of those offer to install either by send to mobile or by scan the bar code method. Since the 28 does not have G3 you can't use the send to mobile. It also does not have a camera so, you can't scan the bar code.

Overall, this product has a lot of potential but just isn't quite there yet. I wanted it for something convenient to stream audio around my home and to do some light web surfing when I travel. The unreliable wifi will prevent me from using it for either.

I also think Archos is over promoting this product. From looking at their product info you would expect it to do everything a computer does. You would spend a long time sorting through and installing apps before you even got close and I just can't see any reasonable person trying to do serious work on a device this small.

If the price (around $100) isn't much to you and you want a sexy looking mp3 player, you might appreciate this product. If you want an ipad or notebook, buy one of those instead.

I despise Apple products and am a huge Android fan. My oldest daughter got one of these for Christmas. About a week into it, it just wouldn't turn on. Called Archos and told them it wouldn't turn on and he apologized, sent me a paid packing slip and an RMA and I sent it back in. Two weeks later a new one arrived and it is working just fine.

Kudos for their customer service.

It is a nice mp3 player with games and email and Facebook and she is very happy with it.

If she wants me to it is child's play to root it and add the Google apps store.

I've had this a week and like it a great deal as a media player, but you should be aware that it does not allow connection to the Android App Marketplace and many Android software apps will not work on it (I suppose due to it not having speakers, GPS, and other phone functions). Still, you can download many apps from the Archos marketplace most free and it works great as a media player. I like using it for Internet-based talk radio. I connect to listen to Jim Rome, ESPN, NPR, and other sources using one of the apps and it never drops my feed as I walk around the house and office. I'm a little disappointed that it won't allow access to the Android App Marketplace, so I can't give it 5 stars, but it is a solid 4-star item.

I must have looked at over 6-7 different iPad bluetooth keyboards before settling on this one. The keyboard is small, but not so small it it unusable. Key responsiveness is good, but I am not an expert typist....still, never had any issues with it. As with every other keyboard/case, the viewing angle is a little steep when using this on your lap, but none of the other keyboard cases were any better. Keep in mind that this one can sit on a table or on your lap when in use, whereas, other keyboard cases that have a little stand do not sit well on your lap. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

This case is very good and like the keyboard. The space bar should be a little larger as I have to correct many words bcause i incorrectly hit the small bar resulting in run on words. The touch is good and the screen protection is also very good.We bought a couple more prior to this one and returned them because of possible screen damage and poor quality. The case is a little heavy for travel but worth it to us because of the quality, functionality and safety for our iPad. It costs more but certainbly does a good job and pleases us.

These headphones work great. I have had no problems with them what so ever. Sound card works well, my sound card is better though (Creative Fata1ty). The mute button on these mics mutes ALL the mics. The green indicator light turns red on the Polycom and the other mic, indicating that the Polycom is muted. Anyone can mute and unmute pushing the mute on either mic or the center triangle unit.

Our conference room is approximately 12x12. When we got the base unit and tried it out, people on the other end of the line commented that they could not hear people 5 feet away from the base unit. Hence, we went ahead and bought the extensions to put at the ends of the table. No more comments.

Recommendation is to use the guidelines but order it if after you determine you need it through actual use.

I was hesitant on purchasing this item because I needed an extension mic for a large conference table. I could not find the length spec for this extension (how can you not put the length spec on an extension product...). I finally called Polycom and the support person told me it would be 9 feet. WRONG!! That would have worked perfectly but the actual length of the cable, measured from the end of the RJ-11 connector to the mic itself, was only 7 feet (83" to be more precise). Now I have to go and make an extension cable for this extension cable. Polycom does not have anything longer according to their knowledgeable support staff. ;

Perhaps this item will be good when I get it, but I couldn't say, as after taking my money for a product advertised on Amazon as "IN STOCK" they then announced it would be just under A MONTH before it was delivered. I have a long email from this supplier about shipping from Hong Kong, how their stupid customers fail to read the fine print and everything is really OK, all the various lengthy stages and process in shipping products from Hong Kong to wherever, Chinese web tracking addresses to watch it bounce around China, an admonitory lecture about Chinese New Year, etc, etc, et al, ad nauseam. I didn't want a cultural experience, just a flip case for my Blackberry. Advertising a product as "IN STOCK" under these circumstances is clearly deceptive. You decide is a delay of just under A MONTH "In Stock" to you? A more truthful statement would be "Special Order Long Delays", or just "Individually Shipped from China". Look out for PDair products they must be delighted to have landed the Amazon platform, but Amazon will soon drop them for playing fast and loose with their "In Stock" status.

My wife has tried what appeared to be every style and type of case on the market for her Blackberry Tourch and just could not find that perfect one size fits all type of case. A case that looks as stylish as it is useful until this case. Nice look, great protection and very pratical for daily usage. I am finally done looking for cases and she is loving the case.
