Cisco AIR-AP1041N-A-K9 Aironet 802.11g/n Fixed Autonomous Access Point
- Cisco Systems, Inc Aironet Wireless Access Point,AIR-AP1041N-A-K9,882658343544,1041N,Cisco Wireless Access Points / Bridges,Wireless Access Points / Bridges,Networking,Cisco Systems, Inc
Now that that's out of the way, I'm happy to report that this access point is absolutely wonderful. It handles all of my network traffic with ease. If you've been unsatisfied with home wireless solutions, or even lower-level business wireless solutions, this is the access point for you. Configuration tends to be a bit complex, since this is running full Cisco IOS, but the web interface makes this a little easier (a very little bit easier...). System uptime has been wonderful, hardly any network latency added, able to handle multiple clients with demanding needs without slowing down or becoming unstable. This is now my go-to recommendation for clients and computer enthusiasts like myself.
Bottom Line:
Buy this if: You're a network engineer who just finished wiring their home with gigabit ethernet for the fun of it and would like a nice AP to go along with it.
Don't buy this if: You've found that your Linksys wireless router is a bit too complex for your tastes.
Buy Cisco AIR-AP1041N-A-K9 Aironet 802.11g/n Fixed Autonomous Access Point Now
Why do you need an access point that you can modify with CLI? Because you can... This Cisco AP is a great AP for SMB with a savvy IT nerd like me. It's not designed to be an enterprise mainstay in the WLAN space, but it's got great tie-backs to security (802.1X, Radius, certificate based, etc), and it's fully stand alone. This unit has a CLI interface and a GUI that is reasonably well built. I'd say that the GUI was last minute because the response time is slow...but that's expected for a $350 AP. You will need a configuration guide from Cisco to make this AP do more than basics. I am a network expert but would not expect the average IT or computer user to find this an 'easy' to use product. This is a professional tool designed to provide 802.11 B/G/N services through it's single spectrum antenna set. It's not using a dual radio (that would be the AP1142, so don't be confused). My only complaint is that it's difficult to configure the security settings for this AP through the GUI. Stick to the CLI if possible and you'll be pleased with the capability of customization and relative ease of configuration.

I bought this AP to improve the performance and security of my personal wireless network located in an apartment in a high-rise building with the WIFI spectrum flooded with vanilla linksys and netgear APs. I eventually succeeded in getting it to do both quite well. Please note that the "autonomous" APs (such as this one, with part numbers that begin AIR-AP) do not require a separate controller and as such are probably best suited for home or small office use. The "lightweight" APs (with part numbers that begin with AIR-LAP) require a wireless LAN controller to operate. (If you accidentally bought one of these, it is claimed that you can replace the system software to convert it to an "autonomous" AP, but I have not done so.)
I am not a network engineer, and have never worked with "real" Cisco gear before. I am, however, a Computer Scientist, but it still took me several days to get this working as I had planned.
The biggest stumbling block I ran into was getting the AP to use the local RADIUS server, which uses ports 1812 and 1813 (the "new" standard RADIUS ports), but the ports had defaulted to 1645 and 1646 (the "old" standard RADIUS ports). I got to learn how to use the Cisco IOS CLI to debug this, so it wasn't a total loss :)
Also, the AIR-PWRINJ3= power injector does NOT work with this device (despite the fact that some Cisco documentation says it should, and, at least at the time I bought it, shows up in the "frequently bought together with" list). I think the AIR-PWRINJ4 will work, but I have not tried it.
The 802.11n spec requires AES with WPA to get link speeds greater than the 802.11g max of 55 Mbps (or open authentication). It also requires WMM to be enabled (Sevices -> QOS -> Advanced).
In encryption manager set cipher to AES CCMP.
In SSID manager accept Open Authentication with EAP and Network EAP, require Key Management to be Mandatory, and enable WPA. (I originally specified WPAv2, but our Apple laptops and an iPhone did not work with v2. If you just specify WPA, individual clients can negotiate v1 or v2.)
This configuration is often called called "Enterprise WPA" in the client configuration UIs.
You then need to create users with the Local Radius Server, and aim the Server Manager at the Local Radius Server (or your existing Radius server, if you have one).
Please note that the Local Radius server only supports EAP types LEAP and FAST. It does not support PEAP, which makes it difficult or impossible to use with some devices (you would have to "root" and hack your Kindle fire to get it work with LEAP, and you need a special configuration app to configure an Android phone to work with LEAP).
If you want to support PEAP, your options are to subscribe to a cloud RADIUS service (which I elected) or set up your own RADIUS server (which I eventually will do). Using PEAP I have authenticated an Ubuntu linux laptop, a Mac air (try specifying WPAv1 on the mac if it doesn't work), a Kindle Fire, an Android phone, and an iPhone as 802.11g devices with a link speed of 55 Mbps. I have authenticated a MAC Pro and a Windows 7 Thinkpad as 802.11n devices with a link speed of 144 Mbps. The cloud/hosted RADIUS providers have very helpful documentation on how to configure your various devices.
Also please note that this is a single band device. The maximum link speed you will be able to get with 802.11n is 144 Mbps. To get a 300 Mbps link speed you will need a dual band device such as the AIR-AP1042N-A-K9.

Mini Itx Tower Black with 150W Ps
The size is pretty good for a mini-ITX case it's not too big and not too small. The proportions are perfect for an HTPC it is wider and shallower than a typical PC case. It resembles the dimensions of an Xbox console being wider (or taller) than it is deep. Overall, I think it's a great size that will fit in almost any situation. It can also be situated horizontally or vertically using the adhesive rubber feet.
The quality of the sheetmetal is definitely a little higher than your normal budget case. It has an excellent "brushed" finish that resembles brushed aluminum from a distance. It feels like it's of good quality. The only slightly cheesy part is the cover. Closed, it looks fine (almost like a cable box or VCR or something) but it opens up to reveal the slim optical bay and power and HDD LEDs. The door on the left hides two USB ports and audio jacks (mic+headphones). The silver border between the two areas is the power button (pretty clever design element). All those plastic bits (the two covers and the power button) are a little cheap, but from a few feet away, look totally fine.
The top cover of the case comes off easily and it is actually very solid which might have something to do with the fact that it's so small. Then there is a top cover that can hold a 3.5" HDD (I think) or a 2.5" drive (or SSD) as well as a slim optical drive. There is a very quiet 150W PSU on the right side and a loud 40mm(I think) fan on the back left which uses a 3 pin fan connector). I used an ASRock A75M with an A6-3500 and the OEM CPU fan JUST BARELY fits under the optical drive bracket. I might add some ventilation holes because it covers half the fan and makes it a little louder than without. If you are not using a slim optical drive, it might even make sense to try mounting an SSD without the bracket in another area so there's more space to maneuver. The bracket itself slides into place without clunky hinges or stops. It is a very solid, simple, and elegant way to add drives to the system.
Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. I would purchase this again for sure if I were to build another HTPC or small system.
BTW, so far this runs XBMCUbuntu very well without a discrete graphics card. I've played 1080p MKVs, BD images, Airplay videos from iPad and others. It is wonderfully constructed and very sturdy. I can not comment on the power supply becuase I am using a micro supply and not hte one that is supplied. The case fan is loud so I did not use it. I did not need it anyway. This build was with a Zotac ION motherboard. The CPU fan hits the slim DVD slot so I cut away some of the metla to make room. Works great. I would by again in heartbeat.

- A MUST Have for all Apple iPad 2 / The new iPad 3 Owners!! Available in Black, Grey, Magenta, Pink and Red. Search: rooCASE iPad 2 / iPad 3 Executive Portfolio
The screen protector is matte and picks up fingerprints. You can easily wipe it off with a cloth, but you'd need something to remove the oils from your fingers. Partly for this reason, I often use a stylus with the iPad. Putting it on was a pain, as the "sticky" side attracted all kinds of dust in the room. However, you can lift it and try again, but I found that it got worse each time I tried to clean it and try again. I liked that the screen protector came with 2 removable layers--one on top of the non-sticky surface so that you can scrape out the bubbles without scratching or damaging the film, and one on the sticky surface.
As useful and great as the case and screen protector are, the stylus is another story. I found it rather useless. After using the stylus for a week, the rubber tip came off. I put it back on, and it came off again, again and again. The rubber tip is also too long, so it drags when you try to write on it. Frustrated with it, I bought the Targus Executive Stylus and Pen and the Bluecell 3-pack styli, all of which are much better when it comes to ease of writing and durability.Dyed leather it's not always pretty, but they certainly dyed this one as perfect as possible, the color is gorgeous and uniform. The sewing and the finished it's perfect, it doesn't have one loose thread and the zipper seems that's going to last. This is a very nice case. A very vibrant red. An eye catcher for sure. Has an executive look also. Multiple compliments, everyone wants to know where I've gotten it. I like that you that you can remover it from the zipper case to hold in hand alone. For sure would order again.

iGadgitz Black 'ArmourDillo' Genuine Leather Case Cover for Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 TF101G 10
- Hand stitched designer leather case with unique style
- Customised design to fit the Asus EeePad with cut-outs for all ports cameras, sensors and buttons
- Camera lens protection strap
- 4 position viewing stand smartly designed to integrate into the case
- Magnet free cover design means all compass related navigation features will still work accurately!
Unfortunately, when I received this one, I was so disappointed as the item is NOT the so called "genuine leather." It smells awful like the cheap toys you get from XXX.
I decided to return it right away as feeling strongly being cheated!
Please Amazon, check the credibility of your items before you put it on your website!
p.s., Amazon's return process is not bad, though! So i purchased their cheaper PU leather case, not this one, but since there are no reviews here, i will do my best to help. This case looks almost exactly like the other, though the one i bouht has 5 viewing angles+ lays flat. Here is my review based off of the other version, as i am assuming this is the same thing with genuine leather and a slightly modified backing:
I was hesitant at first, i tend to base my amazon purchases off of reviews, and this had none. My first case was one of the slim cases that a bunch of companies are selling on here. Its a p.o.s. then i was debating between this, the roocase and the vipercase. I am wholly impressed with this case. Super high quality materials, transformer fits very snugly inside, and feels protected on all sides. Button clasp,no magnets, make it close very securely. 6 viewing angles. Love it.

i attached to an itouch with no trouble.. just charge it, turn on bluetooth in itouch general settings, hit seek button at top right on keyboard and back on the itouch choose it to pair in bluetooth settings.....keyboard is very small..better for thumb typing but easier than touch board!Using a Samsung Captivate (I) along with the recent Android 2.2 (Froyo) upgrade, I can now get the keyboard to pair and connect. No additional drivers or apps are needed.. Previously I could not get the Mini Bluetooth Keyboard to work under Android 2.1. The Cappy and the keyboard would pair, but not connect. I tried sideloading various bluetooth keyboard drivers without success. The Mini Bluetooth Keyboard is a HID device as shown by Android 2.2 Bluetooth diagnostics. There has been some discussion about Bluetooth HID not being supported by Android 2.1.It is a very small keyboard as advertised (60x115x10mm, slightly smaller than the Captivate). It is an oversized thumb keyboard with good key travel. The four-way scroll is nice. Using it essentially doubles the viewable screen on the Captivate when keyboarding-not a very strong selling point, but this is true of any external keyboard with any iPhone-like cellphone. However, since the Captivate has video output, one can convert a Samsung Galaxy S phone into a frugal, bareboned travel "nirvana computer" by carrying the mini-keyboard and the right cable to connect the headphone jack to a TV's RCA plugs: keyboard+cables=135 g (5 oz) at a cost of $US20.

The case gives excellent protection to my printer and notebook, it also has good storage space that I use for paper, wireless mouse, 10-key pad, CD's . . .My only complaint is with the handles, within a week one of them torn loose from the case, I don't feel comfortable using the shoulder strap, but it works just fine.
Overall the case is a good product, I do feel that HP thinks it's more valuable than I do after having it for a while. List price of $89.99 is more than I think it's worth. At that price, I wouldn't buy it again.
Read Best Reviews of HP Mobile Carrying case (Notebook / printer carrying case) - 15.5" Here
Since HP produced the mobile printer, we've needed an answer for transporting the printer along with our laptop. This is their answer and they're the only ones I know of addressing this issue. If you're going to get a mobile printer, you're going to need this bag to transport all your mobile gear together. The center compartment holds the printer and all the adapters for printer and computer and you might as well throw the phone charger in there, and the outer compartment on one side protects your mobile computer while on the other side you will find the pockets for digital media, pens, accessories and files.I do wish they'd put some wheels and a telescoping handle on this bag though. With an entire office packed in there, if you're going through an airport, this can begin to weigh on you. It does have the sleeve for sliding over the handle of another wheeled bag so you do have some method of putting all that gear on wheels. Most airlines only allow one carry on bag, so if this is going to be your carry on, there go your wheels.
I'll take it rather than leave it.

This bag has made life alot easier to carry everything in one bag. Since it is in one bag I don't have to look around for different cords and what not. Laptop and mobile printer in one! It's Great!!I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this case and the room provided in it. This is a must for anyone who travels with a laptop computer and a portable printer.Monday, January 20, 2014

PDair Leather case for Motorola DROID X MB810 - Horizontal Pouch Type (Black)
Unlike other cases, pulling out and putting back DroidX into this is easy. And the magnetic lock on the flap keeps it closed.
And this is a horizontal case which is quite good.
Buy PDair Leather case for Motorola DROID X MB810 - Horizontal Pouch Type (Black) Now
I got this leather case protector for the Droid X2/X, taken the very limited choices Verizon offers. It is slim and the X2/X fits in nicely. It does not position the phone too far out from the belt and is not bulky. Putting it into the case the right direction, you can keep head phones connected and also charger can be connected while in the case. The leather is of good quality. The clip is strong and slipping off the belt is not an issue at all. The clip cannot be removed and also there is no 360 degree adjustment. The phone topside is not covered completely, so holding off water/rain/spills can happen.
All over, very reasonable choice, shipment takes a little bit, but it is worth the waiting time.
