If you have a cell phone just get a cable to connect it to a modem and your off. It's cheeper...

This springboard module is pretty good, but you've got to check which paging service your specific module will work with. For instance, since I own a Skytel module I am only able to use Skytel service. That means you can't price shop for service at all. You are limited to whichever company your module is preprogrammed for. Hopefully this is some useful information if your considering buying one. It only costs about [money]/month for email service on your PDA which is a pretty good deal, considering I can use my email service pretty much where ever I like.

The Glenayre @ctiveLink is supposed to be a great wireless module, but has been unavailable as a standalone for weeks! I see no reason why the module should be unavailable while the Visor Deluxe bundle is always available.

It works great. I bought it for wanted asus p8-z77-v pro as this memory defined in their qvl list. But i was forced to use another motherboard asus p8-h77-v that do not contain this memory in it's qvl. Finally, this memory works great for me with this motherboard and it was quite easy to install and setup (just turn on your xmp in bios). (I bought it to install under my Noctua NH-D14)

Yes, the driver and registry update are available for 2003 even though the company that wrote them no longer exists. I have this card working on my Dell Axim X5. It works with my GPS receiver and my laptop. But as has been noted, Dial-Up Networking does not work.

Perhaps at one time someone had a work around for this card but if it's still out there someplace I sure can't find it anywhere any longer in 2008. If your ppc still running 2002 you're fine but Belkin never released a driver for this guy for 2003, supposed to be the same as Dell's truemobile 300 but I've had no luck making it work and on a toshiba e805 your second issue is a bluetooth stack because there doesn't seem to be one built in on the us version of this pda. There are two versions of this card, version 2 has squared corners and that one works with widcomm drivers and stack but this version doesn't. I'm returning it can't find a way to get it working bought a sirf III cf gps instead, a shame because I already have a good bluetooth gps but the american 805 has only wifi no bluetooth...agggh don't believe the other reviews because if the stuff is still out there to make it work I sure can't find it. Buy it on a credit card because this seller makes a secret of his return policy....possibly more to come.

In Aximsite there is a Guide to use this card with PPC 2003 ( named "Bluetooth CF card for $20") and works.. but not all functions.

I've bought a few of these types of keyboards and all the ones I've bought in the past have been flimsy and junk and never really worked 100% right. This half height board, purchased from Amazon, is a step up from the 5000 series Radeon graphics card that ships with Dell's Optima 390 computer. It includes a half height plate and installs easily, runs quietly and performs well. Placed this card in my HTPC build. This card, for the price point (under 70) was a good purchase. Graphics are nice, playback is smooth, and connectivity (HDMI) through my HT Receiver was a non-issue. The card runs cool (not over clocked) and is relatively quiet, compared to others I have tried. Will have to wait and see how long it lasts as the HTPC remains on for days on end. Other cards I have purchased have not faired well.

Added this ATI 6450 graphics card to adult grandson's Dell Inspiron 580 MT, after much research and getting OK from Dell support as to power supply suitability and space requirements. It is about the most powerful single slot video card with a minimum wattage requirement of 300W power supply. The Dell PS is a premium unit and could probably handle a 400W card, but the space limitations in the mid-tower case required a single slot card. One of the only drawbacks of going with a Sony Reader instead of a Kindle or a Nook is that the aftermarket has a dearth of products for them. Enter Duragadget's case / stand / thingamajig for the PRS-650. The leather is of a good quality. While it could probably be thinner if the padding was left out, it's not so thick as to make the case awkward to carry or heavy to hold. Since it's there to help protect the reader from bumps and bruises (a good thing for those of us who travel a lot for work), I can't complain. The magnets of "locking flap", for lack of a better term, do a good job of keeping things closed and when flipped in between the flap and the back of the case keeps the flap attached to the back of the reader, keeps the flap in place whist in the reading position. The multi-position kick stand works quite well. Great for reading in a restaurant. Again, a great thing for those of us who travel a lot for work. All in all, a quality product more than well worth the price.

I was very skeptical when I ordered this keyboard since no one has written a review on it yet. So I took a gamble and just based on looking at the picture and doing some googling (to see more pictures), I went ahead and ordered it.

Much to my surprise this keyboard is awesome! The layout is quite good, very similar to what you will find in most laptops. The feel of the keyboard is very nice. I use it for CAD to get my wrists and arms in a more natural position and bought a separate number pad. Its compact but not because the letter keys are any smaller then normal. The size savings is really just from taking out the number pad and smushing in the other keys. But all the keys are there and the letter keys are the exact same spacing as a normal keyboard which was just what I was looking for. Not overly loud. The usb cord is a bit short so I had to use an extension to reach my computer.

so much, much better than this one 89-Key Mini USB Windows® Keyboard

just spend the extra few dollars and get the Genius. not sure why the other reviewer complained about clakity keys. this keyboard is not as quiet as a full-on scissor-switch laptop keyboard. but it's definitely quieter and smaller than a regular size keyboard that has a full frame + number pad.

this is just what I needed to keep my sanity with my limited desk space. the glossy black finish seems to attrack smudges and fingerprints and pet hair, if that will bother you.

On many issues I'd rank this keyboard as fully satisfactory: It's extremely handsome; layout is great; and it's ergonomic at least in terms of consuming minimal space (and therefore not restricting us from using areas of our desk which larger keyboards will infringe upon). In virtually every other area, I'd rate this keyboard a 5.

But the most important thing about a keyboard is how it types; and the most important thing that enables it to function well in that regard is the mechanics of the keys. I've worked more hours a day than you want to know about... and I generally wore out a keyboard in under 6 months until I discovered BTC keyboards quite a few years ago. Until recently, I used to buy my BTCs from Amazon here, but now they've become scarce or not available. The BTCs I've been using are this size, and they just type fantastic, owing to very good key mechanisms. While the BTCs weren't available, I bought this Genius in the hopes it would feature similar mechanics... but no... it's one of the old plunger types which I wear out so quickly.

To explain my complaint... plungers introduce a looseness -the keys will wiggle around because there has to be some clearance for this (cheap) kind of mechanism. This looseness works against you. If you stroke straight down the center of a key, you get one kind of stroke response. Any side movement (and there almost always is some lateral movement in a keystroke) or missing the center, and your stroke cants the key, forcing it to stick as it tries to depress. This of course makes for terribly inconsistent response -especially in a thin board like this, which has to have shorter shafts (which is why I anticipated that it would probably feature the BTC style mechanisms instead).

Another thing you're going to have then is all the faster wear, because with the shorter plunger mechanisms, your keystrokes are binding all the worse -wearing this plastic gizmo out all the faster.

Great looking unit. Perfectly compatible with a Mac or Windows. But right out of the box... terrible for typing. Loosest new keys I've ever experienced. Worse than other (deeper) plunger types I've suffered. I won't be using this one for long. It's such an impediment to good typing that really, it needs to get tossed away brand new for interrupting my timing -which of course is what sticking keys do.

Upgrade the mechanism, and this would be a great board. Otherwise, imho, of *negative* worth to your work.

I purchased this USB keyboard to use with an Acer A500 Android tablet. It works, like most USB devices, by simply plugging it into the tablet and typing. It is making my tablet use much more productive for note taking and writing emails.

The physical size of the keyboard strikes a great balance between being compact, but also having key size and spacing be comfortable and comparable to regular keyboards.

The sound of the keys is normal for most keyboards. It definitely isn't a loud keyboard, but if you were using it in a meeting, it might be a distraction. It definitely isn't as quiet as a laptop keyboard.

I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a compact USB keyboard.

Bluetooth USB 2.0 Micro Adapter Dongle

This mini 2.0 USB Blue Tooth dongle has potential but the bundled software ruins it. I paid about 5-6 bucks (including shipping) for it the reseller had it to me in record time. At this price point, really, there was not much for me to lose and my expectations were not that high.

The dongle ships in a plastic pack with a mini CDROM. The mini CDROM has software (Bluesoleil 2.6.0.8) that enables Blue Tooth features that go beyond the basic Windows XP Blue Tooth capabilities, including A2DP (stereo music).

The dongle is tiny. I have an Acer Aspire One netbook and the dongle barely juts out from the side of the netbook a clear improvement over my Targus Blue Tooth USB dongle, which is 1 1/2 inches long. This improvement, however, was the only improvement to be found.

When using this USB dongle in a Windows XP environment, you really have two choices:

1) Plug it in and let XP detect and install a generic Blue Tooth driver for the device

2) Install the Bluesoleil software

If you go with the XP drivers, you are going to be able to use a decent and stable set of features, such as a reliable Blue Tooth mouse connection.

If you go with the Bluesoleil software, it opens up the functionality of the device and provides additional features that the XP drivers don't support, such as stereo music.

The problem is, the Bluesoleil software is not good. The user interface is ugly and non-intuitive. You'll just have to install it to see for yourself. Additionally, the software is, by design, crippled. Per the help menu, patches and upgrades will cost you. You can purchase a full version that, among other things, removes the data transfer speed-cap so that you can listen to MP3s without hiccups.

Setting aside the fairly annoying and yet not deal-breaking aspects of the software is the fact that the software doesn't play well with the audio drivers of my Acer Aspire One netbook. If I try to open an audio gateway to my Motorola BT stereo headphones, the Aspire RealTek soundchip drivers crash and crash again. And that is if I can even get the software to agree to create an audio gateway; it doesn't seem to be able to do so reliably.

I searched for information regarding the Bluesoleil software and the majority of the search results returned ways to work around the issues and many results even outlined how to reconfigure competitive software packages to work with the dongle in order to circumnavigate the Bluesoleil software altogether. I tried every trick that was described. I found some success in working with different software hacks but the time I spent was not well spent.

Back to my old Targus BT dongle, it was about 25 bucks. I installed the included software (WIDCOMM) and it just works. Five minutes of fiddling and it all works. It's silver and pokes way out and is pretty lame looking, but it gives me no grief.

In the end, I guess if your time is worth nothing than the cheapo BT dongle is for you. However, if you want the BT dongle to just work out of the box with no issues for every application that you expect it to work for, do some research and pay for what you expect to receive.

I have to caveat that this dongle and the included software may be just fine for you. For me however, it did not meet my requirements which are: BT mouse, BT stereo headphones and BT cellphone connections. All at once. Without any issues. The Targus dongle does this and I guess I'll just live with its unfortunate form factor.

First unit received had a manufacturing defect that prevented the dongle from being attached to the usb port.

The replacement could not pair with other devices using Microsoft's bluetooth driver on XP(sp3) clean install. It also did not work with Microsoft's bluetooth driver on Vista x64. Also tried ubuntu linux 9.04 and also did not work.

After troubleshooting in ubuntu, the system log revealed that the device shuts down and restarts each time the bluetooth radio is used. And that was the apparent cause of pairing failures.

update: the device doesn't appear to use the Broadcom 2045 Chipset as stated in the detailed description. I installed the WIDCOMM bluetooth driver from Broadcom and it doesn't recognize the device.

Based on the couple other reviews, I thought that I would take a gamble on it. I needed something to connect my cell phone bluetooth headset to my computer for a VoIP setup needed for work. With little information and having never used bluetooth, I gambled and I won.

The dongle has a small foot print. The software is excellent. I was able to connect all my cell phones and the wireless headsets to the computer with out any problem. Further, I was able to integrate my wireless headsets to my VoIP application (Avaya IP Agent, in case anyone is wondering). I was pleasantly surprised to see that the device packaging says that it is VoIP capable. The software is easy to use.

Over all, I am very pleased with the device. For less than $10 and the small footprint, you can't go wrong using this device.

I recommend it to anyone looking for bluetooth USB adapter.

I know you're tempted by a bargain (I was!), but put the money towards a better adapter.

This might work for some, but on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine, the default drivers from Windows Update don't work (can't get through the pairing process). The version of BlueSoleil shipped with the product is obsolete and also doesn't work. BlueSoleil does have a nice working version on their website, but to get a full version without the shady data transfer limit, you'll need to shell out another $20 or so, at which point it's no longer worth it. Lastly either the dongle is NOT based on a Broadcom chipset, or Broadcom didn't write any 64-bit drivers, but their Bluetooth setup utility cannot detect the device either.

I feel like maybe if I keep digging around the web I'll eventually figure it out, but at this point I'm ready to throw in the towel. At least it's only a couple bucks down the drain.

The Horizontic Plus is my third Krusell case and probably my last. This is a shame. Krusell makes wonderful high quality leather cases but all of the cases which use the Multidapt mount have a weakness in the plastic Multidapt bracket which is riveted to the back of the case. The bracket has very thin plastic flanges which hold the removable plastic round swivel pin in place. When any kind of side torque is applied to the case (i.e. having a belt hung case catch a car seat while getting into a car) the plastic flanges on the back of the case snap off. This destroys the case because the bracket is not removable.

It is ironic that Krusell sells heavy duty steel belt holders and steel swivel pins because they attach to a Multidapt mounting bracket made of plastic less than 1/16" thick.

I loved this case and the other 2 before it. Unfortunately all 3 failed in the same way. If Krusell changed the bracket to metal, this would fix the problem and I would return as a customer.

There are a few cases rated for Nokia N-95. I checked three of them, one had no belt loop, second was too large but still hard to reach the phone fast. Third specifically advertised as for N95-3 phone was equipped with large magnetic flap, which having too strong magnetic field, was triggering screen to horizontal position, and interacting with phone in other weird ways. Paying about half of the grant for phone I refused to stop searching for the right home for my new amazing tool (toy?). Google somehow redirected me to Symbian users group and from one of the entry I learned about Krusell Horizontic 95181. The number is important. A few days later I had Krusell in my hands. The case has dual on belt carry system. One is a Multidapt with a large and strong belt clip. If person prefers to carry phone case on belt, close to the body (safer for the phone and its large screen in my opinion), it needs simply to skip installing clip and use two very elegant and well located belt loops, each finished with snap visible at the bottom of case. The loops can be used with belts up to two inches wide (I use 1-3/8"). Initially phone enters the case with some resistance. What I did, was before the first night I turned off the phone to avoid its complains that too many buttons are pressed at the same time and wrapped the phone with one piece of paper towel forcing the whole package gently into case. In the morning I had a looking very elegant and small, custom made case with phone perfectly fit, but never pressurized to accidentally activate any function. Small magnetic button (magnetic snap) works fine and never triggers phone magnetic switches. The open bottom allows for easy access. A quick push lifts phone up from case, while other fingers grab it from the top. If never tried before, this technique should be tried over the bed first few times, before being mastered.

The screen protector fits great on the nook Tablet and was easy to apply. I did get a few particles stuck and since the film is a bit thicker it made the resulting bubbles larger but I'll take a bit thicker screen protector and be more careful applying it instead of the alternative.

I really like the matte finish and look to the screen with this applied.

The biggest (only?) downside to this protector is that it makes the display look fuzzy and just out of focus. Another reviewer said that they stopped noticing after a while take the cover off and look at how crisp is looks without it. I don't think I'll get used to it, which is a shame because it's otherwise nice, has a good feel to it, and I love the matte finish I just wish it didn't have the slight cloudiness to it.

I had to purchase two of these because of my impatience with the first set. At first, I followed the directions up until it came to the actual application... where I completely screwed both up, ended up with no bubbles but gobs of dust under the protector. I ordered another one, cleaned the screen carefully and sat down at my kitchen table, then carefully and slowly followed the directions and applied the screen. No bubbles, no dust, and it protects the screen wonderfully on my nook tablet. It's especially great considering my five year old son loves to watch netflix on the tablet whenever I let him. I also checked the anti-glare capability by taking it outside and it did a great job of cutting down on the glare. A great buy at a great price!

The screen fits my Nook Color perfectly. You must follow the directions when applying and thank goodness the product came with two screen because the first one was my practice one. Take your time putting it on to avoid airbubbles and make sure no dust gets under it when applying as it will create a airbubble that you can not get out. Bought the green case for wife's white 4s. The green is close to the beautiful apple green. Here are the Pros and Cons:

Pros:

1. Although it is a slim case, the build is very sturdy and not flimsy at all;

2. The surface is smooth but not slippery;

3. Left side opening is wide enough for both 4s and 4 (including GSM and CDMA versions);

4. Snap on the iPhone closely and leaves no gap.

5. Great service: contacted the seller because the first one I got has a minor defect, received the second one a few days later which is of a new version with free screen protectors and perfect.

Cons:

None I can think of.

This case is just a piece of plastic that does not protect too much, only the back of the phone.

The front is lower than the screen protector, which you can feel the edges when touching the phone. In another words, does not overlap the edges of the clear sticker that protects the screen.

I don't recommend it. Get the speck or if you want the better protection without caring about bulkiness, get the otter case.

The company stands behind its product and after I bought this one they contacted me to make sure I was happy and offer to exchange the product or refund.

This case will not stay on my iPhone. Before this, I used an Incase Snap Case, which fit perfectly and never let go of the iPhone. This case feels more like a malleable sleeve rather than a hard plastic case. It looks good, but there's no satisfying snap when you fit it to the phone, and if you lay it face down and press in the middle of the case, the phone starts falling out and easily hits the table (if you're looking for a case that protects the front and back).

I upped my review one star as Justcase's support has been pretty great. They sent me an updated version that fits the iPhone 4s better, but still doesn't protect the screen in any way. Granted the new version includes a couple screen protectors, but I much prefer the lip that extends slightly above the screen placing a screen protector across the entire screen (personal preference)

The Green version looks great on the white iPhone 4S and fits perfectly. I would have liked for the case to create a small lip around the front of the phone so that the screen wouldn't touch when placed or dropped face down. I guess the screen protectors will help some.

Call me paranoid but I always get a hard case to go with my PDA. So I was very happy to see that somebody came up with a hard case to go with my HP iPAQ 111 Classic. This one is a beauty. I went with the black aluminium case instead of the silver colored one. A nice feature is the clear plastic window in the case's front lidall you have to do is pull out the case, turn it on,read your next appointment on the 111's display, power off, and put it back in your shirt pocket. Quick, easy, efficient. Of course, you might want to consider getting a screen protector for it as well as for your 111the case's window will be prone to scratches since it faces the world. The only annoying part of this case's design for me is the placement of the hinge. The hinge is on the right side of the unit. Which means that the case opens like a book you open from the back cover instead of the more logical and intuitive way you normally open a book. With the case cover open, the lid obstructs access to the power switch, reset button, and the voice recorder button. If the case opened in a more conventional manner, it would only obstruct the SD card slot. I don't know about you, but I use the power switch and the recorder button more often than I fiddle with SD cards. Being right handed, I can't even use the open cover as a tray to hold a note or business card as I enter it in my 111 because my hand obstructs the view while I'm writing. So in my opinion, the case design is optimized for lefties and has a minor operational annoyance for righties. Being a rightie, therefore, I'm deducting one star because all in all, it's still a good accessory for the 111.

Update: Deducting two stars. I dropped the caseit fell from my pocket about 3 1/2 ft. to the ground. The case popped open and my iPaq popped out of the case when it hit the sidewalk. Luckily, my iPaq still works and the only cosmetic damage is a scratch on the screen protector (easily replaced) and a couple of scratches on the body. But a case that pops open and allows the device to fall out after a short fall is NOT a good case, in my opinion. It should have stayed closed. So now I'm rating it as a two-star device although Amazon won't let me change the rating. A pity, because otherwise, it had the potential of being a great case.

This is a nice little case -sleek and form-fitted. However, as someone else posted, the device can and will fall out if dropped.

On the issue of the hinge -I too thought this was a shortcoming until I flipped it upside down to see how that might work with the hinge on the other side. IF you are right handed, holding the unit in your left hand, if the door opens the other way, your thumb will close the door, or not be able to "hold" the unit, leaving it resting on your hand, and prone to slipping. With the case hinged the way it is (backward to a book) your thumb can easily hold the unit secure, while the door is open and resting against your fingers.

Summary: Nice case, if not ultimately fall-proof.

These covers have saved my PDA from an early demise so many times. I use my PDA constantly and I've really abused these covers since I have trouble with my grip. I've had mine since middle of August. I'll starte with the issues. In that time I've experienced the glitches mentioned elsewhere, but not enough to give up on it. I had 2 hard resets with data loss (static electricity I now realize), many soft resets with no data loss (mostly when syncing), a few times the speaker noise problem (soft reset fixed), and short battery life when power isn't nearby. That's most of the bad, and most of this is fixed with v2 of the software now available on Garmins downloads site.

Since the sw upgrade to v2, no hard or soft resets, no lost communications on syncs anymore. I've loaded many new applets and none of them have given me any problems. Be SURE not to use any that aren't specific for OS5!

What's great?

the screen is better than anything i've seen, more bright, more resolution, and is worth the tradeoff in battery life

the speed, fast processor to speed autorouting makes it fast for everything else, too

the integration with contacts and calendar for waypoints is very useful, really leverages the PDA/GPS into much more than the sum of its parts, more than what other (separate) packages can

so far it's robust, i've dropped it and still works fine

maps are very good. i took it to europe for 3 weeks of driving, including in italy (even rome), and it was painless with this device. it has every road in the country, like where i live. the system in my brother's car that cost $2K has no roads off the freesay where i live useless. it is truly FREEING to drive along and see all the possible roads you can take around you, updating in real time, if you're like me and like to explore. truly great.

I could go on for a month, I love it that much. So I'll switch to how to overcome it's shortcomings:

get the car kit, period

get a 256 MB SD card, i paid under a hundred, with that, i can put most of california, for most of a US region or to have room for MP3's, get a 512 card.

if you're not using it, cradle it. if you're in the car, put it on the car kit cradle whether using GPS or not. with these habits, i never have problems with battery life. and it charges very quickly, too. the v2 sw puts the default brightness at 50%, which is enough 90% of the time. i use about 30% when inside, and it's still brighter than many other and completely usable. don't enable waas, no satallites anyway and 20 feet is close enough for me, and helps battery. turn off IR receiver. set auto off to 30sec. it's instant on anyway. with these changes, battery life isn't an issue for me.

i got the small sync cable with the travel kit, but the aftermarket sync cables will also charge from the USB so might be better, check it out, targus and belkin, among others.

get a protective case. i got one for a toshiba pocketpc that's leather with belt clip. fits perfectly, and now i don't worry about dropping it

the antenna works best when the FLAT top face is toward the sky, NOT when it's end is pointed at the sky. used this way, it locks under a minute even when moving for me, and never loses when moving after lock unless i'm in a sea of 3+ story buildings.

i got the external antenna, and now i can take it off the car plate to use it and it still keeps the satellites, this is a nice to have but is not very expensive

people have said the maps are worth $100. in reality the autorouting map sets are $300. i know, i bought it for Europe, but i DO NOT REGRET IT.

sometimes it fails to find things that are in the database, but this is rare. r2 sw may have helped but haven't tested yet. there are a few map bugaboos, like a small break in the road that i routes you around, but these are rare.

don't load any apps that don't say OS5 compatible

use screen protectors the ones for Sony Clie NX70's fit perfectly (don't get sony brand, too expensive)

upgrade the OS to v2 immediately

have patience if you've not used a PDA or Palm before, you will get through it. the downloadable PDF manual is very good. there are dedicated sites like palmgear with lots of useful info on getting along with your PDA, as well as software reviews and downloads.

they have posted track log and waypoint conduits now, as well a map loader update. Garmin is seriously supporting this device, don't give up on it.

Bottom line is Garmin has realized the market for these is bigger than the combined market for all of their other products. So I do believe they will support the product, and will come out with even better ones in the future. But bottom line is it works great for me, it was a bargain considering what it does, and I wouldn't wait for an upgrade and have to live without it. It's a great GPS, and with the v2 upgrade, a great PDA. it's definitely the most useful device in my life today, moreso than my computer. i'm the kind of person that never gets lost, but i never leave the house w/o my ique now. it's fun, it's useful, and it makes life easier.

I installed the software per the user's guide and used it on the first day I got it (12/23/03). My wife was driving and I was reading about it in the car. I had the GPS on and was amazed at how the map moved (Track up mode) as we moved. It was accurate re: driving speed, location, odometer, etc. Then I tried the Que Route mode and tried reaching a destination. The thing kept saying "Off Route, recalculating" over, and over, and over again. I was pissed! Then I read some reviews and learned that I had to go to the Garmin website (http://www.garmin.com/support/download.jsp) to download "release 2" and "release 2 patch 1." After following the detailed instructions and re-trying the Que route, the navigation was perfect. No problems whatsoever. The unit is occasionally inaccurate as to street addresses, and is better with known intersections (gets you there within 10 feet accuracy). Some street addresses were right on the money, but others were a few houses off. Overall, however, it's a tremendous tool and a very fun toy.

Definitely get the 256 MB expansion card at a minimum and you absolutely need the Auto-Nav travel kit.

The new iQue 3600 from Garmin is truly amazing. For a very attractive price, you get a powerful Palm OS 5-based PDA that sports a screaming 200 MHz Motorola DragonBall MXL ARM 9 processor, 32MB of memory (some of which is reserved for system operations), and a nice 320x480 high-color screen, the highest resolution I've seen on a palmtop. The iQue 3600 weighs in at a little over 5 ounces with the built-in LiIon battery, and it's only slightly bigger than a Zire 71, and feels good in either hand.

So you can use it as a fast Palm PDA, but the true beauty of the iQue is its built-in GPS function. When you are out in the open -GPS won't work indoors or in a dense forest since the satellite signal can't get to you -the iQue picks up both GPS and WAAS signals (WAAS is a system that supplements GPS, the way I understand it) and, in less than a minute, tell you your early coordinates. Coupled with a mapping program (a very basic one is included), the iQue will tell you where on earth you are, accurate to about 10 feet! For a first-time GPS user like me, the result simply blows me away. Obviously if you don't travel a lot, or live in a big city like New York, GPS is of very little use. But for the road warrior as well as fancy gadget lover (I'm the latter), this is a must-have.

Both the GPS and the bright, large color screen suck battery juice like a puppy in Houston, so battery is weak on the iQue, about the only gripe one would have about this wonderfully implemented product. With GPS on continuously and screen set to mid-level brightness and running a mapping program off the secure digital card, you'll run out in about an hour! That's not a typo or exaggeration. If you can do without sophisticated map software and turn off backlight, you can probably manage for about 3-4 hours. If you don't use GPS -but you got this really for the GPS, didn't you? -using the Palm part for an hour a day will last you about 3 days with backlight on. Which is not totally bad compared to Pocket PCs, hehehe...

In short, the iQue does exceptionally well what it was designed to do. Granted GPS as a whole can be improved, but Garmin has done an admirable job with a well designed, well made product and the price should tempt every GPS user out there.

I don't know how I lived without this unit, well, after I figured it out anyway. I was amazed how the Ique 3600 worked in my car, boat and on my desk, it's even a Palm Pilot too. Now I plan my vacations, not by computer/web maps, but on my Ique 3600. OK, it did take me about 1 hour of fast reading to figure it out well enough to get me to work and back the same day. Now I can navigate at nite and in unfamiliar territory. When I go off-route on purpose or accidentally, it will w/i one block reroute me generally w/o sending me back to the old route and often picks a better route.

The manual is a little sketchy and vague, like no description of the location of the on/off button! But otherwise written so a computer geek would understand. I am still struggling with it.

Garmin has a help line and e-mail which helps too. For example I did not know how to keep my location on the screen without constantly dragging the map with the stylus. Now I just hit the black triangle (lower center) and the map now always shows my location in the center of the screen. Garmin has new software updates for the maps and the Ique system on their web site.

The voice command is the main selling point for me since my wife can't read maps too well, now I have another female voice in my car saying: "In .2 of a mile turn right." Shortly thereafter the female voice says: "In 200 feet turn right." At the same time at the top of the screen, it says: "Turn right on 5th Street." Wow, how do it know?

This device also gives you the time of arrival at your destination, altitude, and many other geeky items we need to know and wish we had know all these years. So far I am just practicing, but next week it's off to unfamiliar Seattle and a fun adventure with my new toy. Oh, it also is programed with restuarants, hotels, etc, not only their locations but their phone numbers as well! Get the extra memory chip, you'll need it and the auto navigator kit for your car/boat. I give it a 5+.

The previous reviews cover most of the bases, but I had to chime in. I bought mine from Amazon and just finished a drive across the country with it. The unit is not perfect, but I just love the look-and-feel and the dashboard mount, and the GPS functions are hugely more useful than I ever imagined...even if I know where I'm going. We needed a couple of resets here and there, found a few instances of old or missing map data, found some undocumented clumsiness in the interface, had to buy an SD card to store the maps, mysteriously lost voice navigation for awhile, and a few other minor annoyances. But it is immediately apparent that GPS handheld computers are the future, and this product is a killer if Garmin keeps working on the software and maps. This is my first use of a GPS, and I have my own wish list:

Add a plug-in interface so third parties can integrate patches and useful info (e.g., restaurant ratings, road construction points, route descriptions) with the maps.

Find points of interest along my route, not just near my current location or destination.

Show distances to selected locations by the shortest route, not as the crow flies (very dangerous for estimating when you need to get gas).

I could go on. But for a first-generation product, the ique is awesome. Garmin is serious, and it will only get better from here, especially if they take the critical steps to create a competitive market for map patches and extensions. The maps are the weak link, since the US does not yet have the full infrastructure needed to maintain accurate maps in a timely fashion (e.g., as roads are built and businesses come and go).

I am an Amazon Prime customer and ordered this presentation capacitive stylus on 3/25/12 with a delivery date of 3/27/12. Well, I received it today, 3/26/12. Gotta love Amazon Prime. The stylus works flawlessly on my Motorola Zoom and HTC EVO. I'm anxiously waiting the delivery of the New Ipad which is why I bought this in the first place. Because of my job I'm always putting moisturizer on my hands which makes my tablet or phone screens greasy when I use my finger(s). The stylus is the answer I've been looking for. If there is a downside it would be when using the stylus I have to make sure the push buttons for the laser pointer and light are not near my thumb because it's easy to push either of them and be blinded by them. I'm sure in time I'll get use to that though.

At first I wasn't sure if I really needed this when I parched this item. When I received it and started to use it now I don't know what I would do with out it. The light flash light on it is great and also the laser pointer really helps a lot. It is up there with must have.
