Corel WordPerfect Office X6 Standard

I have been a WP user since the DOS days, and have regularly upgraded the product as new versions come along. Until the last version (WPX5) and MS Office 2010, I would never consider looking at MS Office as an alternative. Unfortunately, WP has compatibility issues that it struggles with, and MS Office 2010 finally has put out a product that a professional can work with, so the line between the two products is getting blurry.

WP still excels at professional formatting and ease of operation. MS office gets tangled up in its own fancy formatting, and cannot easily move text from one document to another (or from one format to another) without failing on formatting. You cannot beat WordPerfect's "Reveal Codes" as a way to clean up formatting clutter!!

WP X6 is trying to adopt MS Office 2010 functionality and not succeeding While I like multiple windows (rather than working with multiple documents within one frame), WPX6 loses its "recently opened" file list if you don't open every file from within X6 completely missing the opportunities afforded by Windows 7 to search and access files from within WIN7.

MS PowerPoint is the leader in the slide show market. With the exception of the inability to automatically create random transitions (a weird shortfall, IMHO), the ability to create, organize, flow, embed video and sound, set slide transition timing and export to a video format have turned PowerPoint into a very nice all-purpose media tool. By comparison, X6 Presentations is clunky and awkward.

The respective spreadsheets from X6 versus MS2010 are true to their roots both maintain their native codes and formatting. Because I "grew up" with Quattro Pro, I have never liked nor gotten used to Excel I can move much faster in QP simply due to familiarity.

Unfortunately for WP, I seriously considered NOT upgrading from X5 to X6. The only reason I decided to spend the money is in hopes of seeing some compatibility issues and file-handling awkwardness fixed. Sadly, that didn't happen in X6, so I cannot think of a reason to upgrade from X5 to X6, and I may never purchase another upgrade.

MS Office service lies in its extremely robust and user-friendly knowledge base and the well-rounded user forums. I have never had trouble figuring out how to do something in MS Office a simple online search generates multiple options.

Corel suffers in the service department they have a typical knowledge base that is not very user-friendly, and a very annoying call-in support line (assuming you don't have to pay for it). If you require hand-holding, X6 is not the product for you.

As a professional, I have used Open Office (no longer supported by Oracle or Sun Microsystems, but let loose in the wild as an open source platform), MS Office and WordPerfect Office. I use Word Perfect for most word-processing, PowerPoint for all slideshows, and use Excel and Quattro Pro somewhat interchangeably, depending on what I'm doing and what I might be starting with. For a new user, I recommend MS Office as the most "newby-friendly" software. For a professional or experienced user, I recommend X6 as the software that yields the most professional results with the least amount of time fussing with formatting.

So many operations can be done in WP in one or two keystrokes that take many more than that in Word. The full justification in WP is much better than Word, with truer justification so that there are no noticeable spaces between words. Very flexible program, not only for word processing, but legal documents, greeting cards, posters, resumes, etc. are much easier to do, either with built in templates or self formatting. One of the most valuable operations in WP is the ability to reveal codes to see exactly what has been done to your document and to fix things if necessary. Another is the ability to write simple little macros, quick words and quick correct to save keystrokes. very quick and easy convert to PDF and other formats. I do miss the compose feature from earlier versions, but still have high regard for the program which I have been using, in all its manifestations, for over 30 years.

WordPerfect Office X6 Standard is a good product at a fairly reasonable price. Easy to use and compatibility with MS Office is good, but formatting changes in conversion is still a problem. Some of the additional apps included are unnecessary, since you can download them free from the internet. I had a real problem with the VideoStudio Essentials X4 video editor the program did not install properly and after three attempts, I had to remove it completely since it caused my computer to crash each time it was opened. The templates provided are very basic and not very useful, but overall the word processor, spreadsheet, and presentations programs all work great. I would recommend this product for a home / small office environment it is a good value with reliable performance.

Wordperfect is still the best of its type. It has those reveal codes, the "make it fit" function and other features that Word does not have. WP is still a full-feature product offering unique control over formatting and support for legal and complex multipart documents.

This stylus is sensitive and smooth to write with. I like it except for the fact that the plastic has already cracked after only a month of light use and I'm now using it unextended because I'm afraid it will break. I would not recommend it especially at $40.00. It's just not worth the price tag.

I've tried nearly all of the styluses out there for capacitive devices, looking for one that would enable me to quickly and accurately take notes on my iPad. I've been using my XStylus Touch for about 2 weeks now and it has become my single favorite iPad accessory. I leave the dock connector clip in all the time unless I need to charge my iPad at which point, I can simply stick the stylus to the Smart Cover. The XStylus really has everything I was looking for in a stylus, it's comfortable, elegant and most importantly; IT ACTUALLY WORKS! I cannot recommend this stylus highly enough. Just want to say that I was looking for a privacy screen/protector that would prevent others from seeing my screen (at least somewhat). What I got with this ZAGG screen protector was nothing more than a slightly darker screen. Once applied, it simply made my screen darker, makes my white ipad appear as black and really does not do as promised. Oh well...

The software required to make this work with Android is easy to side-load onto the phone, but when you attempt the required activation, it replies: "Activation failed. Please retry before using this software. Application will now close." It does this every time you attempt to start the program. A quick google search of this message reveals that it may be because the Chinese manufacturer has not paid the necessary licensing fees to use the code contained in the software. So that leaves the Android user of this keyboard pretty much s.o.l.

Further reading on the matter revealed a work-around that may work for some. Uninstall the software and attempt to pair with the standard bluetooth. When prompted for code on the phone, enter "0000" and press "OK" then enter "0000" and press Enter on the phone, which will then allow it to pair& connect for this one session. So far, I have had to do this every time I want to connect the keyboard to my phone.

My recommendation is to avoid this keyboard if you are purchasing it to pair with an Android phone.

UPDATE: After 3 times of having to enter the "0000" stuff each time I connected to my phone, it began connecting OK without it. I'm updating my recommendation to 3 stars. If the customize able software worked to allow programming the function keys, I would give this 5-stars!

This was exactly as it said it was. I did not read it closely, I had not wanted a sticker decal. The size of it was a bit off but again, I didn't use it. It looks really cool though. I gave it five stars because I can't fault the product or service for my mistake, haha. If you want a full decal for your tablet then this is a great option. If your not good at installing them, get some help, just in case, haha. I dont know how easy it is since I did not use it.

I was excited to see a car charger for the nextbook, since I listen to books on tape while driving. The little prong did not fit into the next book. Looking at this picture there was something missing in the package. It appears that there was supposed to be a little adaptor also. where was it??? PDair Leather Case for HTC Wildfire - Book Type (Black)

The PDair leather case fits the HTC Wildfire perfectly and has all the right openings in all the right places. I got it to help protect the phone during my frequent travels. It's a bit chunky but the phone actually feel better with the added bulk. My only complaint is the thick leather blocks you from dragging down the top menu but it's a minor annoyance. Picked this up on a whim. VERY suprised at how well it actually works! Was able to achieve a 50in viewing area at about 8 feet away...and was very happy with the picture quality. One note, it only projects from apps that support video out. If it would mirror whatever is on the screen would be a bonus...but I put that on iPhone's software...not the projector.

This has awesome video quality but runs the iphone HOT. Not sure if it is doing damage to the iphone, but so far so good. Amazing video quality!!!

I have tried a number of styli, most of which needed replaced between the two to three month mark due to the tip loosing it's slick silicone feel and becoming, for lack of a better word... tacky. In a couple cases, the tip actually ripped.

I would like to point that I use the stylus mostly for drawing, less frequently for taking notes. I've use my finger in all other cases, I just cannot get used to writing or drawing with my finger. I would never think of using a stylus to play a game, or in an application where reaction time was of importance.

I have been using this stylus for two and a half months now and have yet to replace the original tip. The tip still has the slick feel and still skates smoothly across the screen. The barrel is not heavy and a nice length for my medium size hand. The tip is more firm than the tip of the Bamboo stylus, so those with a heavier hand will not `bottom out' as easy. The tip is just a bit smaller diameter than the barrel, so you'd have to be writing at a very shallow angle in order to scrape the metal shaft against your glass screen. I have made scratches with other stylus where the shaft is much thicker than the tip.

I have but two suggestions/concerns, one of which I have found a solution. The first concern is where will I be able to buy more replacement tips? One extra tip is included with the stylus, but eventually I will need another. The second concern was the lack of a clip. I found a clip from an old drafting pencil (lead holder) works just fine.

Bottom line... For the price difference between this and other more expensive styli, this gem is definitely worth a try. I personally use this stylus more than my other more expensive ones. I hope this helps.

Just as good as any other we have tried, feels good in the hand

ALL of these styluses that I have seen the tip rips in about 2-4 months, with this one you can simply replace it instead of buying a new stylus every few months.

Maybe some day someone will made a stylus that is perfect, doesn't seem like it would that hard to do but until then just buy the cheapest ones you can because none of them are all that great and none will last more than a few months at best.

I have been looking for a stylus for use with my iPhone 4 for some time and had not found one I liked. I ordered this one in part because I like the thought of having a replacement tip. When it arrived, I decided to put it through its paces. It did, as expected, a fine job when using the virtual keyboard and when navigating the apps and online. What really amazed me, however, was that it performed very well when I used it to play Angry Birds and other games. This stylus has a nice firm feel to its tip and fits perfectly in the hand. I look forward to using it for some time. Now, if I could just figure out how to order additional tips when the time comes!

The metal body is slim and high quality and reminds me of Exacto knife. Initially I was pleased with this for basic typing. It has a broad tip so it is easy to select characters. Also bought this due to option to replace tips.

Problems came up once I began using it for games where I have to flick keyboard. The tip is hollow and soft so it gives as soon as you put pressure on keyboard. Several times the tip gave so much that the metal of the body scraped screen. If not for screen protector it would have scratched screen.

Also, the tip is so thin that I've almost worn it out after only a couple days. Returning to amazon.

I don't recommend this because i think u could damage your screen.

I purchased this screen protector as an alternative to the significantly more expensive Power Support HD Anti-Glare film, which I understand is produced in Japan and may be subject to delays due to the situation there.

For the money, its a pretty good deal: two films for $15. Installation is pretty easy, and I was able to squeegee out any bubbles successfully with a credit card. Note that my envelope did NOT include the advertised squeegee in the package.

Functionally the film leaves something to be desired. My screen is definitely protected at least the portions that are covered. It is short by 1-3 mm at all of the edges I realize this seems small, but it ends up being a surprising amount of uncovered real estate. Given how early I purchased my iPad 2 it is likely that the film I received was an early production run and later runs will fit better I'll leave that to another reviewer.

Glare from the sun or lighting is definitely reduced, but at the expense of screen clarity. The textured film, which reduces glare,also creates a tremendous amount of noise on the screen itself, such that it is sometimes painful to read documents for long periods of time. It is functional don't get me wrong but you definitely notice it, even after several days.

The film also collects fingerprints much more aggressively than the naked screen does, in fact. Because of the texture it is also somewhat difficult to clean I have had to use my heavier microfiber cloths and a bit of moisture to remove oil left from even recently washed hands.

Overall I have to say that if you get what you pay for then the myGear film is a deal it does protect, and it does reduce glare, but the tradeoffs on screen clarity and finger smudges are expensive ones.

Right after I applied this protector on my iPad, I noticed that the screen looked so blur.

It totally ruined one of the great features of iPad, so I removed it immediately.

I guess if you use your iPad mostly outside under direct sunlight, this might work.

But if you use it indoor, it is just waste of money.

I absolutely love this case. It is an excellent price and cute cases are hard to come by, they are usually plain. The only reason for the 4 star is because in portrait mode it doesn't hold up in one position, but that is with most 360 cases and is not a deal breaker for me. The sleep/wake function works well. Ipad fits snugly and secure in the case ( I have a ipad 4). You won't regret this purchase.

awesome case thats very slim and not bulky like some others i seen,,it rotates on a swivel point and sits in grooves which i like alot and dosent slip on you,,it also came with a stylus pen which i didnt expect to come with it and thanks.,i will be buying another one sometime soon as im probably getting another toshiba thrive for my girlfriend.

I bought this case since I had a Toshiba Thrive and needed something to carry it around in as well as to view it. The rotating feature was a big selling point to me as well as the free stylus pen. When I received it I was disappointed to see that the stylus pen was about the size of my pinky. The 360 degree rotation is accomplished by physically taking it off of the velcro attachment and then reattaching it in the upright position. Not spelled out in the description of the item. I was under the impression that it just rotated on a pivot point. The material it is made out of is a vinyl and slippery so you will need to hang on to it with a tight grip. Coincidentally, I received an email offer two weeks later from another merchant who was offering a similar product but with locking tabs, charger, free battery, docking station and screen cover for $19.95!!! Oh well, the merchant was nice enough to give me a $5 credit. Word to the wise, Amazon is not the cheapest nor the place best to shop, especially when the product does not meet your expectations and you have to pay return shipping. In the future I will only do business with merchants who offer free returns since I am buying a product, sight unseen.

This little case fits our TF201 perfectly & the Velcro strap is a great addition. The AC adapter makes for a tight fit otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. Since the TF201 battery lasts 10-12 hours with the docking port attached guess the AC adapter is OK to leave @ home unless you're going on a long trip.

At first we bought the Eee Pad TF201 just because didn't want to get left behind on the tablet craze but now find that it really is quite convenient. Even more so than the laptop. A soon as you open the lid all three email accounts are updated & as I already said the battery lasts a long time. The size of the tablet & case are superb for quick grab & go & since the case is a not a soft side we don't feel like it has to be treated with kid gloves.
