Alpatronix Bluetooth Keyboard Folio Case for iPad mini, iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3, and iPad 4 (the New

Alpatronix Bluetooth Keyboard Folio Case for iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3, and iPad 4: Black wireless smart bluetooth keyboard caseAlpatronix has designed a nice folio for iPad that includes an easily removable, bluetooth keyboard. I've looked and tried several other far more expensive cases that included bluetooth keyboards such as the ZAGGfolio Keyboard Case for iPad 2/3/new iPad Carbon/Black and the Belkin Bluetooth Keyboard Folio for New Apple iPad 2 / 3rd Generation, HD, 1080P, WiFi, 4G LTE, AT & T, Verizon, and while the other cases are nice, they cost nearly three or four times as much. So if you're on a budget, this case should get your attention.

The keyboard is better than I was expecting at this price. One key point for me is that other keyboards I've used have a squishy feeling to them when you type. They flex too much and the key action just isn't right. This keyboard is much better than others I've tried. It is a slightly condensed size but I was able to quickly adapt.

The keyboard has many one-key shortcuts that let you navigate around your iPad with aplomb. It's now very easy to start playing music, change tracks, adjust volume, all from the keyboard. You can also adjust screen brightness easily and the "search" button lets you locate apps easily... all from the keyboard.

Pairing to the iPad was very easy and quick. Below the on/off switch is a row of LED's that indicate charging status and state of charge of the battery. Keyboard battery life is good and is easily charged with a micro-USB connection.

All is not perfect in Alpatronix land though. A couple things I notice when using the folio is that iPad will not stay upright in either of the two possible positions if the keyboard is removed from the case. The iPad just slips down since the slots that should prevent that from happening are too slippery and too shallow. So in order to prevent that you need to keep the keyboard attached to its magnets on the folio. The other issue was that my iPad did not always enter sleep mode when closing the folio. Apparently the magnet placement is off just a tad and when the iPad is oriented with the home button to the left, it doesn't always go to sleep. One other minor quibble is that the user guide uses a tiny tiny font that makes reading it a chore for my less than perfect eyesight.

Other than those concerns, this is one heck of a good value. The keyboard is great and really increases my productivity on the iPad. My iPad is also protected from damage when in the folio.

I considered many options when it came to purchasing a case and keyboard for my new iPad. I could not be more pleased with my choice as it is exactly what I was looking for. Especially the price! The keyboard is sturdy and easy to use and the quality of the leather case is what I wanted. I like that the keyboard is easily detachable and the angle of the iPad is adjustable. Thank you for a quality product at an affordable price.

Although I am keeping this product because it works for what I need it forit does not work for all iPads like it says. The box it came in says for iPad 2-the opening for the camera is in a different spot on the newer iPads.

Setting it up was simple and it works great as long as you don't need the camera it is well worth it!!!

Also I have been please with other Alpatronix products. Now those coworkers all wish they had this one especially for the price.

As great as the iPAQ pocket-pc is, it consumes a significant amount of battery when used with card phones or GPS accessories. While traveling in my car, the power ran out and I was unable to use the GPS. Now, with the new adapter, I can use it anywhere, anytime. This is a must have for all power users of the iPAQ.

When the battery runs down while in the car ... I listen to mp3s as my car radio doesn't work and the music is better with ear phones anyway ... you are just stuck with a dead iPAC until you can get it to the cradle ... unless you have this really useful charger stored in the glove compartment. Just plug one end into the cigarette lighter and the other end to the iPAC and you are back in business again, whether listening to music or just needing the iPAC fully charged for that important appointment. A great accessory!

I was looking for a case for my iPad 2 that would protect it better and also take advantage of the SmartCover technology. While this does both, I find the magnets are not strong enough to keep it closed and reliably trigger the on/off function. Otherwise a great case.

  • Mobile BearTracker scanner with 25,000 Channels, advanced dynamic memory system, close call RF capture technology, and more
  • Connect compatible GPS receiver for location-based scanning, location alerts, crows-flight navigation, GPS control of sites/channel groups

This scanner is the top of the line for scanning enthusiasts. It is, hands-down, the best scanner ever made. That's a pretty big compliment, I know. But in more than 40 years of "monitoring", this is the most usable, flexible and featured radio I have ever had. It includes digital (P25) capability.

However if you are expecting instant results or plug-and-play operation, this is not for you. This radio has a learning curve and is truly a hobbyist radio. Having said that, if you are willing to invest the time in learning how the radio works, you will be rewarded with an excellent and enjoyable experience.

For folks new to the hobby, or those who just want to listen to things without programming and details get Uniden's Home Patrol. It's as simple as putting in your zip code and you'll be listening. For the BCD996XT (and its handheld relative, the BCD396XT), it will require programming, using the included cable to connect to a computer. You will have to get the software for it which ranges from Freescan (absolutely free) or Proscan and other paid-for programs. You will also need a source of information RadioReference.com is the best place to get it.

Once you do get the programming down, it's a joy to operate and listen to. One of the limitations modern scanners used to have was bank and channel everything had to fit in the "blocks" of channels. The DMA (Direct Memory Access) architechture blows those limitations away. Once you have the concept of "systems" and "groups" down, it makes scanning ridiculously flexible. The downside is that you can have so much programmed in your radio that you need a printed guide to remember what is where for the less used things (and the software allows you to print those guides).

I do not use the GPS capabilities, but it's a brilliant concept. Once programmed, the radio can turn systems on and off based on the location your GPS provides. For folks travelling a regular route or commute, for instance, this would switch things on an off according to where they are travelling, such as different highway patrol channels, county sheriff departments or city fire and police. The possibilities are endless (and this is all available in the handheld BCD396XT as well).

If you have deep pockets, do add the handheld BCD396XT to your collection also having two radios programmed exactly the same is a great sanity saver they are nearly identical in function, having only slight differences on the keypads.

Either way, this is the best scanner type radio available. There are Radio Shack models that come close, but the Uniden edges them out because of a less complex display. If you don't need the digital capabilities, you can go with the non-digital BCT15X for about 300 cheaper. But when digital comes to your locality, you will be buying a new scanner.

Buy Uniden BCD996XT Digital Mobile Scanner with 25,000 Channels and GPS Support Now

If you can figure out how to program this radio you will be very happy with it. The sound quality is superior. The problem is the total lack of documentation that makes any sense. As a retired LEO I have been around scanners forever and after a week of pulling my hair out I gave up. I would offer my services to Uniden to write instructions which make sense. It turns out it is not all that complicated if there were step by step instructions. Until someone writes them you WILL need to find someone to program this for you and hopefully show you how to add things later. TIP: When you program it leave it open, meaning it will hear all channels being broadcast at the tower site. If an agency is too talkative push the lock out to eliminate them until you power down the radio. This will allow you to discover all kinds of traffic you might otherwise not know about. When you do this the agency name will not appear but a unique agency number will. Go to RadioReference.com to determine who it is and soon you will recognize the number when you see it.

This scanner is Great!! I would advise you to get programing software for it and a Radio Reference account.. It took a little time to figure it out but READ THE USERS GUIDE!!! The reception is great even with the stock antenna. I would give this scanner a 5 out of 5......

Want Uniden BCD996XT Digital Mobile Scanner with 25,000 Channels and GPS Support Discount?

The online documentation/manual is an embarrassment for a high end product like this. Online documentation is a valid medium today, but the content and organization for this product are quite poor.

Having said that, this is a very powerful scanner, and I have no regrets about buying it.

The preloaded frequencies may be of little use to anyone. Bearcat loads a minimum of frequencies with the hope that you will be able to hear something out of the box, but don't count on it.

The easiest and most efficient way to program the frequencies for your area is to download the free software FreeScan and buy a premium membership to ($15 for six months) that allows you to download groups of frequencies for every area and then upload that data to the scanner. The free programming software works great with the Radio Reference database, and you can upload to the scanner in a few seconds. Customizing how you want the scanner to operate is a challenge in itself, but with FreeScan you can save various configurations and always be able to "go back" without losing your data. With FreeScan, most of the buttons on the scanner are not needed as you can do everything much quicker and easier using the software.

While I have not experienced any significant intermod, others report that this scanner has a pretty hot front end with minimal selectivity and can produce intermod in urban areas and especially with an outside antenna. I'm using a discone antenna at about 30 feet with no problem, and I need this over the telescoping whip that comes with the unit to be able to receive some of the 800 MHz police systems in my area. Don't shy away from a decent outside antenna if that's what you need to hear the systems you want to monitor.

The ability to tie this scanner to a GPS was very appealing so I bought one for my car. During my travels I noticed the preloaded trunk system data was horribly inaccurate and unusable for most areas. Luckily I found a file with all the correct west coast frequency and GPS data on interceptradio.com . Once I loaded the new data it performed great. Aside from the slight inconvenience or reprogramming it the radio itself is a pleasure to use and I would recommend it.

Polaroid i-zone Webster Mini Photographic Scanner

Polaroid i-zone Webster Mini Photographic Scanner
  • Handheld portable scanner for i-zone pictures
  • Scans the postage stamp-sized i-zone pictures at a resolution of 320 x 240
  • Transfers images to a computer using the included serial cable
  • Comes with PhotoImpression 2000 software
  • Powered by four AAA batteries

Okay, I would have originally given this product a 3-star rating, but felt I had to give it the full 5 stars to offset some of the ... reviews from the customers.... Another thing, some other customer from Canada wrote that to use this product, you would need 12 things for this scanner to work -but doesn't even mention what these 12 things are.

I can mention the obvious ones:

1. An I-Zone Camera (in the color of your choice)

2. Some I-Zone pictures (plain or sticky, again your choice) that you want to scan

3. A working computer with Win9x/NT/2000/ME, CD/DVD drive and the usual range of ports

4. This Webster Scanner, which comes with serial cable, CD (with lots of good image-related software) and 4 AAA batteries

That's it. What else do you need???

Product Review:

The scanner is pretty easy to use. Just hold the scanner over the picture, press the button, and voila! The picture is scanned and an image of it is stored (up to 20 images) in the scanner to be exported to your computer or to be uploaded to the internet via included serial cable at a later time.

The images produced are small -about 250x350 pixels. The quality of the images aren't of the best commercial quality, but they're good enough for their intended use -to be able to make copies of your i-zone pictures to share with everybody else. You can also scan small areas of other things such as text, postage stamps (*shrug* Why not?), other photos, magazines, etc. Nothing to stop you from doing this after all.

The CD comes with software and drivers you need to import pictures from your Webster scanner, plus some fun quality extras to dress them up.

The scanner itself is lightweight, but a bit fragile. It comes with a handy carrying strap, but I wouldn't exactly swing it around carelessly. The opening to the battery compartment can easily pop out and the batteries don't quite fit in snugly. This scanner definitely needs either a protective carrying case and/or improved outer casing. (How about it Polaroid?)

Overall, the Webster scanner is just a fun addition to the I-Zone line of products. While you won't get the best image quality, you no longer have to fight over who gets to keep the picture!

I mean the price I payed for mine, $10, where is $75 coming from? Do not buy it for that price!!! Don't get me wrong, I love my little scanner, I do not own the I-zone camera, I had lots of pictures that you could barely make out what was in them, now I scan them and Voila, LOL you can see everthing, I have my own website and every picture on there is from the webster. I would more likely recommend this scanner as a gift for a child, but for someone who does not have a scanner the webster is great too. NOT FOR $75 THOUGH, BUY A REAL SCANNER FOR THAT PRICE.

I wasn't expecting much out of this, but I have to say that I was pretty impressed. Of course this is made for people who have an i-zone camera! You could even scan little parts of other full sized pictures that you might have. I had a fun time uploading the pictures to the web to share with family and friends. I'm glad I put this item on my wishlist!

Want Polaroid i-zone Webster Mini Photographic Scanner Discount?

(...) However, for what I paid and what it does, you can't beat it. You really *don't* need an i-zone camera to have fun with this. I actually find myself throwing it in my coat pocket as I head out for lunch downtown to document the trip, and come back with some great textures, fonts, eyeballs, artsy-fartsy blurred out photos, etc. The photos tend to come out a little on the dark side, but a little photoshop help cleans them right up. Just plain fun. The only real downer is no mac support, but i'll live with that for now. I want to take one apart and play with the focus range, maybe build a lens for it...

I REALLY DID LOVE MY WEBSTER WHILE IT WORKED. IT WAS A GREAT WAY FOR ME TO GET A COPY OF PHOTOS THAT I WOULD TAKE AND GIVE AWAY. IT WAS SO QUICK AND EASY. I HAVEN'T HAD IT VERY LONG BUT NOW I GUESS A LIGHT BURNT OUT. HALF OF THE PHOTOS I SCANNED WERE FINE BUT THE LAST HALF CAME OUT EXTREMELY DARK. MORE THAN USUAL. I DON'T KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO CHANGE THE LIGHTS BUT IT DOESN'T LOOK EASY.

THIS REALLY IS A NEAT DEVICE TO USE WITH YOUR IZONE CAMERA. THE PROGRAM IS EASY TO INSTALL ON YOUR COMPUTER AND THEN YOU PLUG THE SCANNER IN. IT IS LIGHTWEIGHT AND SMALL SO YOU CAN TAKE THE SCANNER ANYWHERE WITH YOU AND YOUR IZONE. YOU MUST USE BATTERIES AND BE SURE TO BRING SPARE SINCE IT [takes] THE LIFE OUT OF THEM. BUT DON'T CHANGE THE BATTERIES WHILE YOU HAVE PHOTOS SAVED ON IT OR THEY WILL BE LOST. IT HOLDS 20 PHOTOS SO YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THEM ONTO YOUR COMPUTER TO PUT MORE. I FOUND THE PROGRAM VERY EASY TO USE AND FUN. YOU CAN DOCREATIVE THINGS TO THE PHOTOS ONCE THEY ARE ON THE COMPUTER AND INTO THE PROGRAM.

rooCASE Neoprene Netbook Sleeve Case Cover for ASUS Eee PC T101MT-EU27-BK 10.1-Inch Convertible Tabl

rooCASE Neoprene Netbook Sleeve Case Cover for ASUS Eee PC T101MT-EU27-BK 10.1-Inch Convertible Tablet BlackI really like this sleeve and following might help you decide if this is the right one for you too :) ....

I am using it with ASUS T101MT a 10.1 inch netbook.

The fitting is neither too loose nor too tight.

The outer pocket is good for keeping power cord and adapter.

The zipper is designed in a way that its not going to rub against the netbook. Also, for added protection there is a tuck-on flap inside.

The overall construction (stitches, zipper and material quality) is good.

The 2x memory card slot pocket is inside the main pocket. I was slightly concerned about its placement and my initial thought was that its going to scratch the netbook but so far I have not had any trouble. It is stitched and can be removed by breaking the stitches if needed. (which I don't think is necessary.)

Overall a very good product!

I bought 2 weeks ago a ASUS Eee PC netbook and I bought this case for it.

It's perfectly fit into the case, and it's protect from almost everything (even from water too!)

And easy to clean it!

KaysCase Two Piece Detachable Multiple Angle View Leather Cover Case for Google Nexus 7 inch Tablet

KaysCase Two Piece Detachable Multiple Angle View Leather Cover Case for Google Nexus 7 inch Tablet Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • Dual-View Multi Angle Leather Cover for Google Nexus 7 Tablet.
  • High quality PU leather exterior and Interior.

  • Detachable Inner Sleeve for Handheld Operation; Sleeve Reattaches to Folio by snap fastener for Landscape or Portrait viewing.
  • Cases sold after 8/20/2012 comes with smart cover feature that automatically wakes the tablet and puts it to sleep.

This case is a wonderful, cheap case. The material feels nice and the covers/back feel sturdy. The tablet fits in a nicely customized leather frame with a flap that tucks under the tablet. The only downside is that the tablet can move rotationally as there is a lack of side support where the buttons are placed. However, this is not a huge issue.

The ability to detach the inner case from the outside flap is a big plus. Overall, the case feels and looks great, even if it does quite a bit of thickness.

Works well, looks good, doubt it will protect the Nexus if I drop it but it is nice to be able to have it propped for when i am in bed. Looks good too. Only issue is the difficulty in reaching the power button.

Read Best Reviews of KaysCase Two Piece Detachable Multiple Angle View Leather Cover Case for Google Nexus 7 inch Tablet Here

I hesitated to buy this case because they started pre-order way before Google plans to ship the tablets. I wonder if they will fit, but I gave it a shot. The case came in yesterday at the same time as my Nexus 7. Perfect timing! And it's a perfect match! Everything looks so well. Stitches are neat, all opening are accurate, and it just look as described on the website.

The multi-angle view is a great feature, but I love it more because it's detachable. I see myself taking the inside case off most of the time, and only put in back in the cover when I have to travel with it. Overall, for the price I paid, there is really nothing to complain about.

Want KaysCase Two Piece Detachable Multiple Angle View Leather Cover Case for Google Nexus 7 inch Tablet Discount?

This case looks terrible and doesn't work like it should. When I first put it on my tablet I noticed it's very difficult to reach the power button. Then I tried the stand options. The horizontal view is okay, but the portrait view didn't work at all. It just falls down. Also, working with the tablet in the case open as normal is really frustrating because the snap on the back of the case wobbles the whole time and spins around. Lastly, the construction is just poor all around. The stitching is tighter on one side than the other so the case sits crooked and gaps around the screen instead of being snug. Don't waste your money on this!

OK this case is awful. It's two pieces an outer "book shell" and inner tablet sleeve. It snaps in with a button (like a metal snap button that protrudes from the back so it doesn't lay flat. It has an extreme swivel when attatched to the outer shell and is uncomfortable to use. Trying to use it as a stand is also a joke it still needs to be propped up against something to hold its own. Save ur money look elsewhere for a nexus case.

I didn't have high expectations for the price but other reviews were at least decent. I'm here to say this case disappointed big time and I doubt I can return it because I added some Velcro to two pieces to help with the swivel factor.

Sigh...

APC USB cable ( AP9827 )

APC USB cable
  • RJ45

Exactly what I needed .

Installed PowerChute Personal Edition and it communicated perfectly with the UPS ( running Windows 7 32-bit ).

Only downside is the batteries that I thought were good did'nt provide enough backup power when I did a simulated power failure .

I still do'nt understand why APC does'nt offer the cable on the site .

Anyway their loss is AMAZONS' gain.

UPDATE MARCH 5TH , 2012 :simulated a power failure while running PowerChute Personal Edition and I only got 5 mins at full load .

This did'nt make ANY sense cause their are 4 batteries on this UPS ( 2 internal 2 external ) .

So I uninstalled PowerChute and just simulated a power failure using the windows system tray power icon as a guide to "time left " and I was able to use the system for a lot longer .

APC's software has failed me in the past so those of you using the software try my experiment and compare results , I suspect you will be surprised .

Buy APC USB cable ( AP9827 ) Now

If only APC cables weren't so hard to figure out which one I needed, I'd be happier, but that isn't this seller's fault. This product worked just like I thought it would, and our network cluster is now happily talking to each other to check on the status of the UPSes in the room.

APC wanted, what, like $35 for this cable that I could not find mine...so bought this one and I plugged it in and it didn't work. Man was I ticked off but then I looked and some idiot (me) had plugged a Cat5 RJ45 cable into the comms jack on the UPS and a pin was bent. I straightened that with needlenose pliers and now my RAID Netgear Shared storage and desktop PC (using open source software communicating to the server, not the UPS) both shut down when power fails.

Dell Axim X5 300 MHz Pocket PC

Dell Axim X5 300 MHz Pocket PC
  • 300 MHz InteláXScale Processor, 32 MB RAM, and 32 MB ROM
  • Brilliant 3.5" high-resolution transflective 65,000 color display
  • Integrated CompactFlash Type II and Secure Digital/MultiMediaCard slots to add storage or wireless communication cards
  • Built-in microphone, speaker, and stereo headphone connector
  • What's in the box: Axim X5, Stylus, Sync cradle, AC Adapter, 1440 mAh Lithium-Ion Removable Rechargeable battery

I worried and read every review available before getting the AXIM, so I'll share those things I most wanted to know before the purchase.

I purchased the AXIM X-5 300 on 11-26 with a ship date of 12-18. I received it on 12-9, a very pleasant surprise. The case is sturdy silver plastic with rubberized sides. I've had the AXIM in my hand for as long as 4 hours and, because of the size, shape and rubberized gripping surfaces, I have experienced no cramping or muscle tension. Very good human factors design in this instance. Most importantly, the unit feels secure in my hand with no sensation that it's slipping or that I'm about to drop it. With the screen setting as bright as it will go (and it is very, very bright and clear), I have used the AXIM for 16 total hours on it's original charge and have 40% of the battery remaining. This is not gaming, but does include about 1 hour of Media Player to watch video (excellent!). With the backup battery I have no fear of taking it until it shuts down. The stylus is OK, all metal except for the point, and better than those little round plastic styli. The Navigator button does not have an "enter" feature, but it does scroll appropriately. To see the real potential of the button it should be used in Excel. The speaker is limited, but there is a headphone jack (I have not used this yet). Otherwise, everything is sturdy and functional.

The synch software installed with no difficulty (HP laptop, P-III, w/XP) and I am very pleased with the Pocket PC interface and applications. It appears to be a very full-featured software package. At the entry-level price I have money left over to purchase some software I might really want (but it is such a good package, I have no clue what else I should buy. Look at your MS Office and Explorer and think "I can do all of this on a handheld").

This is my first venture into Pocket PC, and I made the appropriate choice with the AXIM X-5. I have the potential of my laptop and desktop in an extremely portable package. Don't worry about the size and weight of the AXIM; to me it is a non-issue. I cannot fairly compare the AXIM to other Pocket PC's, but it is almost exactly the same size as my Palm III-XE. As for weight, it's light enough. All of the other Pocket PCs I've seen and hefted are too big and too heavy. All of them. Everyone wants a matchbook size computer that throws out an 11X14 holographic screen that we can navigate through telepathically, and that weighs only 4 grams. Even at that size and weight people would carp that it's too big and heavy to be an earring. The AXIM is as light as a feather compared to any laptop. On a budget, it is outstanding. If budget were no limit, I say get a Winnebago to carry your servers, satellite uplinks, wet bar, and Jacuzzi.

...Unless you really loathe inserting a CF card (it just slips in the top), connectivity is a non-issue. Memory: CF, or Secure Digital cards that slip in the side (so you can have boat loads of memory). In the box: The AXIM; CD-ROM software; USB cable; charger; sturdy carry case; ubiquitous manual, quick start guide, warranty, etc.

First, if you don't have a PDA or not familiar with them, learn about them. You will be amazed how easy they are to use and with only a few options, the convenience they provide will save you a tremendous amount of time. They are becoming as natural and common us as the cell phone. If you know nothing about computers, this system is so easy you will feel smart!

Knowing the Dell's Axim X5 400 MHz is available, I didn't think that the 300 MHz was worth buying knowing that a more advanced version was already available. However, conversations with engineers more knowledgeable than I reminded me that I am buying a PDA not a server and that 300MHz is all the processor I would need. Also, the DELL AXIM X5 was one of three models that was always recommended. After doing my own research I had to agree. I purchased the Dell X5 300 MHz and buyers remorse set in. I thought I wasn't going to get as much use out it that I originally thought. I was wrong. Now, before I go anywhere, I pick up my PDA before my cell phone and keys.

Using the Dell provided software, installing activesync was very easy and the set up was effortless with my Microsoft Outlook. Dell and Microsoft made this install so easy I thought I did it wrong! I have the PDA synced to my Sony laptop and my Dell desktops. Remember, to disable your firewall protection before using the activesync. After the system has sync and you have exchanged files, enable you firewall. McAfee will disconnect your sync.

After just one week using my PDA, I bought a second PDA (same DELL 300 MHz) for my wife knowing we can share the accessories I bought. I packaged an extra battery, stylus, and screen protectors as well as additional memory, the wireless phone and camera. My only disappointment is the protective cases that I bought. I have both the leather and the hard case, neither have a belt option. I had to make a belt clip from a few cell phone parts. Hopefully Dell will offer a case that can be worn and has room for a money clip. I strongly recommend you take the time to learn about the PDA world. PDAs will replace your cell phone and provide a tremendous amount of assistance to you.

I've had my Axim for a few months now and I still love it. No troubles at all except when I enable WEP on my wireless card; I have to restart after inserting the card to recognize the network. I suspect this is related ot my no-name wireless card and not Dell's fault.

Only disadvantages are the size (it is much larger than other handhelds). I knew this going into it and I find the size comfortable to hold, though it doesn't fit into all of my pockets. The other disadvantage is the Dell support. I haven't had to deal with them since I know a bit about computers, however I ordered my PDA from Dell and was going away in 2 weeks. Their estemated delivery time was one week so I thought I was good. Turns out their site doesn't update daily and the unit was on back order. I had to argue with supervisors for 4 days before I finally got someone who got the situation resolved. All the others would say they will make sure it will ship today, then they 'forget' about it.

As long as you order from Amazon that shouoldn't be an issue. The fact is that only 25% of the service reps at Dell speak english without a THICK accent, and only 25% of those people really care about their job enough to go out of their way to help customers.

What it comes down to is I love the PDA, but hate Dell and can't recomend this product to anyone who can't troubleshoot software issues with the device.

P.S. Dell shipping and handling is a KILLER! If you are planning on buying accesories make sure Amazon or another retailer has what you need or you will end up paying $7 shipping on screen protectors that weigh nearly nothing.

I purchased my 300 MHz Axim X5 from Dell in mid December and it arrived about 2 weeks later. This is my very first pocket PC, although I did have a Palm V about 2 years ago. This thing just amazes me. The screen is nice and bright... the style is very comfortable to hold (rubber sides).

My choices for pocket PCs were the Toshiba e740, the HP IPAQ 1910, and the Dell Axim X5 mainly because they were all under $... after rebates. The 300 MHz Axim is by far the cheapest and the best value since it has dual expansion slots (SD and CF). I am currently using a Netgear CF Wireless adaper card to surf the internet anywhere in my home.

Bottom line... the Axim is the best PDA for the best price. I love mine!

I highly recomend these handheld, i had a iPAQ before which I bought, these device is one third of the price and has everithing built in with out the hassle of carring a lot of ad-ons. But among all the reasons i can find to recomend this device is the promt support and extended warranty of 3 years from Dell wich I have experienced for many years now.

I bought it from dell on-line store.

I'm going to preface my review with the caveat that I bought this laptop to replace my 10+ years old(!) laptop. So basically, I'd be impressed with anything made in this decade.

In any event, I bought this after much online comparison between this and a Toshiba laptop. The Toshiba laptop had slightly better specs (one more additional USB 3.0 port and higher RAM) but the Acer laptop just looks better. And sure enough, once I brought it out of the box, I was impressed by how sleek and sexy it looks in person. Yes, it's a sexy laptop!

So, pros (asides from sexy appearance):

I'm most impressed so far with how fast it handled iTunes. Even on my husband's newer (but still old) desktop computer, iTunes take forever to load. This probably loaded iTunes in a few seconds.

USB 3.0 is fast. An album pretty much transfers instantly from my portable harddrive. If I selected 20 or so albums at a time, it probably takes less than a minute. It used to take at least two days to transfer some 5,000 songs to my iPod on my old laptop. On this computer, it took about two hours.

Sound and video both play well on this laptop. I don't need my laptop to be an entertainment center so my expectations aren't high in either regards. But from what I've used of the audio and video components, the laptop more than meets my expectations in terms of having a good sound when playing back audio and video looking crisp.

It's extremely quiet, even when the fans come on. Along with the quiet, it hasn't had issues with overheating. I've ran it for 2-3 hour periods and it's never felt slightly warmer than room temperature. It's advertised to have up to 4.5 hours of battery life and so far, that's been correct. Running a game lowers the battery life but it's to be expected and not a major issue. It's light (again, compared to my ancient laptop). I had to run up and down the stairs a couple of time with it and I barely know it's there.

Recently, I've tried accessing my work computer from home with this laptop in an attempt to debug whatever was wrong with my work computer. The laptop handled really well with running that task while installing a game and surfing the internet at the same time. I didn't notice any lags or slowdowns at all.

The only game I ran on it so far is Sims 3 and I haven't had a chance to play too much of it yet. So far, the graphics handled well and the game played smoothly for the most part. There were two times while in the game that I was kicked out to the desktop. The first time, I just pulled up the program again and the game continued right where it left off with no issues. The second time was the battery low warning. I don't know what the reason for the first glitch (maybe also battery?) was but it was no huge deal since it didn't affect the game much at all.

The cons:

I was initially put off by the Windows 8 interface. To be honest, I still hate it. But after some tinkering, I was able to make the Start screen somewhat less offensive to me by uninstalling and unpinning a lot of the useless apps. Still, I think the Windows 8 interface is a big downgrade. But I can't really blame the Acer laptop for running whatever is the newest Microsoft product and so I'm not letting stupid Windows 8 affect the product rating. Maybe one day I'll downgrade it to Windows 7.

The Charm Bar. Ugh! Another useless Windows 8 invention. I used Windows registry to suppress it but it still comes up occasionally when I hover in the lower right corner too long

I think the touchpad is a bit too sensitive sometimes. I had to turn off the one touch drag feature because it was too difficult to navigate with it inadvertently dragging a lot of the windows and icons about. Even after it has been turned off, I still get inadvertent clicks. I've already changed the sensitivity of the touchpad in the settings but I'm still getting inadvertent clicks. But I guess I'll just have to continue fiddling with the settings until I get something I'm satisfied with.

In conclusion, the only real con against the laptop would be the too-sensitive touchpad, which I'm sure is fixable with some tinkering of its settings. The Windows 8 one of the most terrible OS ever hoisted upon consumers can't really count against the laptop's rating. It's a really great computer for work, internet, entertainment (for the non-discerning audience) and light gaming. I'm really glad I got this over the other laptops I was looking through.

Want Acer Aspire V3-571-6698 15.6-Inch Laptop (Midnight Black) Discount?

I love it love it love it, not to fond of windows 8 yet but learning. This is my second Acer computer and I have found they are one of the best out there. Great sound, great graphics, beautiful styling, clear screen FAST FAST FAST Great gaming computer as well as everyday use. An A++++++ recommendation

a lot of adjusting to be familiar with windows 8 but after you get the hang of it...everything is fast and smooth and great. for a low price laptop i find it very helpful
