My notes and observations here are specifically for people who are especially interested in the experience of using the Qumi Q2 with the iPad. I have both good things to say and things to watch out for.

First let me state that I have only tested out the Qumi with the iPad 2 and not the first generation iPad (though I am guessing the experience would be comparable). I wasn't originally sure if the Qumi would be a good fit for the iPad and I was a little hesitant to make the purchase. For iPad users like myself it appears worthwhile.

Projecting the iPad screen through the Qumi works well. The projection is absolutely crisp. For 300 Lumens the image is pleasantly bright for such a small projector. While you can easily see the projected image in a room with reading level ambient light, if you are going to watch a full length movie with the screen diagonal being something like 100 inches, it is definitely preferable to view the movie in a darkened room. In a darken room, the colors are absolutely vivid and vibrant. When I first watched a movie with the Qumi, I was a little dismayed that the colors were off (tan colored skin tones appeared unnaturally red). Only after watching the movie did I find that Qumi 2 allows for adjusting color and other settings such as keystone correction. The Qumi 2 has a number of preset options for color correction. This can be found under IMAGE --> DISPLAY MODE. I found that when I set the display mode to BRIGHT, the color tones in the projection almost perfectly matched the iPad screen. The second closest match for color was when the display mode was set to sRGB.

On the issue of the focusing mechanism for the Qumi I read a lot of reviews being critical about this. My impression is that in the Qumi Q2 the issue is overrated. I found that the focus mechanism on the side of the Qumi to be perfectly adequate. Many reviewers say that unit goes out of focus quickly (because of thermal expansion) and doesn't stabilize until the unit has been on a while. I did not notice this to be an issue at all. The unit I have is a Qumi "Q2" and I am suspecting it is a second generation product. In any case, I found that i did not have to play around with the focusing once I set it. Also, I found the projected image to be equally sharp on the center and the edges. Having said all these positive things about the focus, I do have a couple of issues. To focus the projected image you have to rotate a focus ring. This makes it hard to nail the sharpest possible image. A tiny nudge up or down on the ring and the image is still reasonably sharp. You don't quite know if the image is as crisp as it can be. My suggestion for the manufacturer (maybe it's included but I haven't found it yet) is that in the settings there should be some visual test pattern that makes it easy to discern when the focus is spot on.

The Qumi has several cables. I've only used the HDMI connector cable. There appears to be one for VGA and this "should" work with your iPad if you have the VGA adapter for the iPad. Because VGA is analog, I would not expect the image to be as sharp as it is through the HDMI connector. I have used the VGA adapter for the iPad with other LCD projectors and have been very happy with it, save one exception... if you want to watch movies downloaded to the iPad from the iTunes Store and project it, you are out of luck. A stupid DRM (Digital Rights Management) mechanism senses you are using a non-HDMI device and won't let the movie play. I say this is stupid, because you can download the same movie from the iTunes Store to your laptop, use a VGA connector and a plain old LCD projector to watch the movie. I was worried that the same DRM mechanism would interfere with watching movies using the Qumi in conjunction with the iPad. Fortunately it is not an issue. Let me be explicit... If you have the iPad 2, purchase the Apple Digital AV Adapter (Model No. A1388 which has a list price of $39), and connect it through the HDMI cable that comes with the Qumi Q2, you will have no trouble watching movies downloaded to the iPad from iTunes, and view it in High Definition with a full 1080p resolution. Now that you are happy about all this I have to let you know about a wrinke (which has nothing to do with the Qumi itself)... for some reason whenever I download a movie from the iTunes Store it seems to take forever for the movie to be downloaded (something like a couple of hours -by comparison, it takes maybe 10 or 20 minutes to download a typical movie over the same network from my laptop). I don't know why downloading to the iPad is so sluggish. My advice is if you want to want to watch movies using the Qumi as the projector and want to use the iPad instead of your laptop to hold the movie, you'd be well advised to do the downloading several hours in advance.

Regarding cables with the Qumi, they are a bit short. I wish they could be longer, but I did not find it to be an overriding problem. Interestingly enough, the Qumi comes with a pair of magnetic sheaths or isolators to attach to the ends of the cable. These limit electromagnetic interference. It's nice that they include it. But they only provide one pair (one for each end of the cable). On a more expensive cable these magnetic isolators would be built into the cable. I view this as a cost cutting measure. It's not a problem, it's just something to be aware of. As far as practical issues are concerned (on the topic of cables), the Apple Digital AV Adapter detaches to easily from the iPad (this is an Apple/iPad issue, not a Qumi issue). The slightest little jiggle, and the digital signal to the Qumi breaks and entirely disrupts the movie watching. So care must be taken to make sure that the iPad and it's adapter are not disturbed during movie watching.

After posting this review, another reviewer [Thanks Ticlar!] pointed out that the Qumi does have a tripod thread mount. Removing the tiny square sticker on the bottom of the unit reveals the tripod mount. :-)

When watching long running movies with the Qumi/iPad there can be issue that the iPad goes into a power save mode. The power save mode is when the iPad screen shuts off to conserve power after a certain amount of inactivity. Normally it is awakened if you do anything like tap the screen. When watching movies, the iPad can go into this power save mode (the timeout is based on your iPad settings which you can easily configure). This power save mode doesn't interfere with the movie projected by the Qumi. It continues to play even as the iPad enters the power save mode. When you want to pause the movie you would tap the Pause button on the iPad screen. When the iPad enters power save mode while watching the movie, it's screen goes blank and no amount of tapping the iPad screen wakes it up. My advice is that before watching your movie, change the iPad's power management settings (i believe this is in the General --> Auto-Lock timeout) so that timeout is set to Never. You can always change it back to your original settings after watching the movie.

One more comment about the Apple AV Digital Adapter... while you are using it to project your iPad screen on the Qumi, it's dual connector lets you simultaneously keep the iPad powered, so the batteries on the iPAd don't run down. My personal opinion is that powering it in this way adds one too many cables (but at least you are given options).

I should say a couple of more things about the Qumi. The top of the Qumi has touch controls for accessing the Qumi's menu options. Additionally, the Qumi comes with an (infrared) remote control. But in a darkened room it is very difficult to read and click the correct buttons on the remote control even though the buttons are slightly raised. The Qumi comes with a nice little travel pouch. The travel pouch only accommodates the Qumi unit itself. There is really no room for the full complement of cables, let alone the separate A/C adapter.

The Qumi Q2 does appear to be a solid quality product. I would not characterize it as very rugged. I think they cut corners to keep the price down (like the clip on magnetic sheaths, anemic built-in speakers, and poor documentation) but didn't drop the ball on important features.

Please understand that I have restricted this review to iPad users who are unsure if the Qumi Q2 plays nicely with the iPad. To address this it was necessary to take into account how the two are used together, and identify some of the gotchas along the way.

Bottom line: The Qumi Q2 does deliver near private theater quality viewing but be prepared for some initial fidgeting/configuring to make it work well. In this context I can safely say that I am satisfied with the purchase of the Qumi Q2 and would recommend it.

Let's just say I have own an Optoma HD65, due to the lamp and power outages around here, I've opted for an LG HX300(G). I was able to live with it fine and dandy but wanted something around 720p instead of 1080p. I don't need 1080p to live since most of the stuff I watch are from Netflix or YouTube. 720p is enough for HD quality and everything else that I do.

Then I researched for more LED projectors and ran into LG HW300 and Qumi Q2. To be honest I would've gone with the LG HW300 for the DLNA so I could stream videos/musics easier without bunch of cables around my room and in my closet.

As for the Qumi Q2, the 300 lumens is enough for me. I can live with it since the LG HX300 is about the same but I would have to say the Q2 is slightly brighter. My only major gripe is having to buy adapters for my HDMI cable and component (still need to find an adapter for it). No accessories/adapters for other video inputs (for example the Wii).

The menu is really really basic. Can't calibrate much at all. Cannot change R, G, B to suit the situation. The presettings were ok. Brightness was way too saturated but not too bad for me.

Now for the good stuff, pixels are much more less noticeable when compared to the LG HW300, thanks to the increase pixels. Videos played nicely no stutter, no rainbow effect that I could notice, and the fan was not too bad (bad during silent scenes).

**One little trouble, I had a defective one prior to this review. The red led was broken or something because Mario's red under clothing was pure black. So did other images and videos where red didn't show up. Amazon was willing to replace it without any hassle. Thank you Amazon. Vivitek took awhile to respond but I took up on Amazon's offer because they were much more speedier in their replies.

Overall though, I am pleased with the product.

UpdateAfter using it for like 2 weeks. I'm actually getting quite frustrated with the projector. It appears that after shutting off the projector and turning it back on later, you are required to refocus again. If you are using it as a dedicated theater and mounted on the ceiling, you literally have to climb up every time, turn the focus wheel and not turn it off ever again. That's very inconvenient and a major flaw for me. I wish Vivitek would address something on this issue other than telling us to just refocus when it reaches operational temperature.

Update 8/27/11I'm beginning to notice the projector is not focused in some areas strangely enough. Like along the bottom right portion of the screen is blurred out and middle left. Apparently it's a common problem. Please buy at your own discretion. Dropped it to 3 stars.

experienced super low barely noticeable audio from the stock qumi 1w speaker but you can connect your surround sound system and you are good to go

I've owned this projector for almost a week now, 6 days to be precise. Being a "portable" projector I must admit, I had fairly low expectations from the start. However, I must say that the projector has far exceeded my expectations. Currently I have it set up 11ft from a white block wall in my basement. It projects an image that is 110" diagonally. The picture is crisp running an Apple TV 2 @ 720p. The colors are vivid and bright. The white balance is great! Overall the picture is very nice. As for settings, it does lack in that department. Not a whole lot of settings, but enough to get the job done.

I've noticed some people have commented on some flaws of the unit, and I'd like to explain what I've noticed and how to correct some.

1. "Greenish tint to the black and white areas" Check to see if you have the LED MODE set to ECO instead of Normal. The setting is located in the main menu under Installation II.

2. "I have to refocus it every time I turn it on" This projector has a warm up time before the lens get to the operating temperature. Typically I've ran into a 10-15 minute warm up time. Once it gets to this point, the setting you last had it at will be perfect again.

3. "Some parts of the screen won't focus and are blurry" Check the lens for fingerprints. I had a similar thing happen, and once I cleaned the lens it was fixed.

4. "It goes to sleep but doesn't wake up" I've noticed this and try as I may, I still haven't found a way to wake it up once it goes to sleep. So if anyone has, please comment!

5. "It only has a physical power switch and no power on the remote" This is true and like another user had commented, it gives the ability to toggle with a switched outlet. In terms of the remote, I also wish it has a power button; however, it's a rather basic remote and doesn't surprise me with the projectors hard switch.

6. "I need to buy new HDMI cables" It has a mini HDMI input on the back of the unit. It does come with a 1m Mini HDMI to HDMI cable. You can purchase HDMI to Mini HDMI adapters here on Amazon for under $5.00.

6. "I can't find a component cable for the Qumi" Unfortunately I can't confirm this, but I have heard you can contact Vivitek and they can send you one. Overall, I would definitely recommend this projector! It's not a "permanent" home theater projector, but it is a great projector for media hobbyists.

The belt clip is large for the size of the case and slips off the belt very easily. The strap holding the bluetooth is not very secure.

I like this case very much. It's strong and durable and a nice blue color. I've gotten a few compliments on it when I travel. It fits the x100e model with extended-length battery perfectly, so it should work for the later model (x120e) which is exactly the same size.

I also have a thinner neoprene case from Lenovo (sold for the ThinkPad x100e series) which I bought for a very low price on Lenovo's outlet site, but this Roo case is much stronger and very nicely padded. I travel with the Roo case and I use the Lenovo case as a slipcover when I'm around the house (I like to use a slipcover case on all my computers---I have 4---because it keeps them cleaner and protects against possible accidents). The Roo case even has a zippered compartment that can hold small things like an Ethernet cable or memory keys (but is not quite big enough for the power adapter). The compartment is also too small to hold the external DVD drive (also from Lenovo) which I bought for the x100e. The drive will fit in the compartment, but I can't zip it closed.

The iPad can easily be inserted into the case and once that is done a 2" (50.8 mm) leather flap with Velcro attachments can be tucked back around the case at the side to hold it in. The inside of the case is lined with a complimentary-colored light gray suede. There is a recessed pocket for the Bluetooth phone handset and another one that holds the charging cable. This is a nice looking leather case with a beautiful textured exterior. The interior is soft suede to protect your iPad from scratches and drops. The lid is held shut with an elastic strap to keep the top flap closed and protect the iPad screen if you were to drop the case. The case also has some additional features that are useful to the user. It can be set up in a stand mode to allow you to read or the watch movies in the landscape mode. There are magnets in the case that will put the iPad into a sleep mode when you close the lid and awaken it when you open the lid. In addition the iPad is held securely in place by a fold-in leather flap that is secured with a Velcro strip.

Inside of the case you will find a thin line style Bluetooth phone handset that will let you talk like you would on a normal phone system. There is also a covered storage area that contains a USB cable for use when charging the Bluetooth handset. The storage area is also big enough to hold your ear plugs for listening to your music. The handset can be used to talk for 5 hours or be on standby for 200 hours. The charging time is about two hours and you can charge it with your computer or any USB AC powered wall charger. A charger does not come with the case. The nice thing about using a phone hand set is that people sitting around you cannot hear the other person speaking and for many people using a phone handset will just seem more natural.

There are a couple of issues that for me were problems. I linked the phone handset with two iPads and two iPhones and in all cases we had a buzzing noise in the background for the person receiving the call. When we did not use the hand set the buzzing was not present. The other issue is that I hold the iPad to read a lot and when I folded over the cover my hand was trying to hold the case right where the suede cover was covering the storage area. It just felt awkward and anything in the storage area would eventually fall out.

Overall the case is beautiful on the outside and the finish on the leather exterior is top quality. I rate the product as a four star item because of the buzzing in the call being heard by the person receiving the phone call. The buzzing is not so loud that you cannot use the phone handset but it is noticeable to anyone you call and they will comment on it.

We have several different iPad/Android tablet cases.

Most of them are similar in style and function with the notable exception of the PadPivot which is an extraordinary and unique tablet stand.

But, this portfolio by CTA is a very nice leather tri-fold with several compartments and an internet phone.

The construction is made of a smooth grey suede interior with a black leather exterior.

When closed, it feels sturdy like a hardcover book.

You also have a connector compartment with enough space for a second plug or pair of wired (or wireless earplugs).

The phone is a nice option. I use several different wireless, Bluetooth headsets, so I probably would use the enclosed phone very infrequently.

The case can fit all of the current versions of the iPad, 1-4. iPad 5 is being redesigned, so we'll have to wait on its applicability here.

But, if you have an Android tablet that is the same dimensions as an iPad, then you'd have the option of owning a very nice, elegant and sturdy tablet portfolio.

I was hesitant purchasing this cable and software CD. Many reviews of software / cable packages indicated users had problems installing the proper versions of the software to work with their cable. According to the reviews on those other cables, people were trying to overcome an issue with using Prolific software on non-Prolific cables. This was not an issue with this purchase.

This cable and software was installed on my Windows 7 machine; I followed the instructions and it worked FLAWLESSLY the first time.

After running the installation CD, the driver that's installed for this cable to work is provided by Prolific Technology, Inc. The driver version is 3.3.2.105, dated 10/27/2008, ser2pl64.sys.

I first installed the software from the CD, then plugged in the USB cable to the computer (in that order). Once the cable was connected to the computer, a pop-up balloon window told me the cable associated with COM 3. GOOD! I then started my radio software (CHIRP) and it auto-detected the cable at COM 3, and I was able to download the radio data to my computer on the first try. NICE! No computer reboot required, either.

EDIT: From Device Manager under Ports (COM & LPT), I right-clicked on Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port and wandered through the properties. On the Driver tab, I manually told Windows to update this driver (newer should be better, right?). With the latest online update installed (driver version 3.4.36.247 dated 7/26/2012), the cable failed to operate. The Device Status then read, "This device cannot start. Code 10." This is an expensive piece of plastic. I installed this as soon as I got the camera (Canon Rebel XSi). It does seem to do a decent job of protecting the screen but on the other hand it also seems to make the screen a little harder to read in bright sunlight.

Applying the screen protector is simple, but it is difficult to keep lint off of the adhesive side. I actually had to clean the protector, according to the manufacturers clean-up procedure, before I could apply it for the first time... and I thought that I was being careful. It is clean now and it attached just fine.

I don't know why the product has the wording anti-glare in the title, because I think glare might be worse with the protector on. The screen is definitely not as clear with the protector on, but maybe its better than looking through a scratched screen because you had no protection.

It covers all of the lcd screen, but not all of the black border around the screen. That is probably a good thing though because otherwise it would make it difficult to not have overhang if you were a little crooked with your application.

Overall very good. Different scanning qualities a plus. Worked well. Liked ability to scan to JPEG or PDF. Creates a PDF that can easily be edited (cropped, etc.) by Adobe Acrobat (unlike Pandigital wand scanner I had to return because it created a PDF with HUGE dimensions that Acrobat couldn't handle). Takes a little work to get non-wavy images, but you will eventually get the knack of scanning correctly. More compact than the Pandigital. Can recommend this for scanning on the go, but doesn't replace a desktop scanner for high quality/higher volume scans. Basically, it is very good at executing on its target mission.

Ok, I just got this and I love it. I love the portability, it uses two double A battery's it's very easy to operate, and it works great. You can carry this with you and you can be ready to scan anywhere. It has a small color screen that I thought would be useless because it's so small, but I was wrong. You can see if your photo came out, it's good to have. This is the first scanner I ever owned. I have a Printer but has no scanner. Im very satisfied with this purchase. I forgot to mention it does not come with the memory card. But they are inexpensive. So if you purchase the Magic wand scanner,also get the mini sd card.

Update: I've had this scanner for awhile now and now every time I scan a photo there is a line right in the middle or somewhere on the photo. So I purchased a flatbed scanner. The canon canoscan lide 210. It's not too big and it's powered by the USB. So far it works really great. I now give the hand held scanner two stars. Also it's a battery drainer.

This little scanner is indeed very handy under the right circumstances, but can be a bit awkward for scanning books with a small inner margin ("gutter") or that don't lie perfectly flat. It can make it tough to move the wand steadily (leading to a wavy image) or cut the image off. I'm beginning to get the hang of it, but my big scanner is still better for some of the sorts of things I like to scan (such as a page here or there from a library book I don't want to buy). I haven't started on the major project I bought the scanner for scanning old photos for my family genealogy but it should work well for that. It is fun to use, and has features I haven't learned yet. I also bought the firm-sided carrying case, which I think is a good investment, even if you don't plan to take the wand out of the house it holds the microSD chip adapter and the connecting wires etc. and protects the wand very nicely. I definitely think this was the right model for me, with the most flexibility if you're going to bother to buy the thing, get all the bells and whistles the first time (900 dpi, PDF ready, etc.).

this film produces great pictures. I am very happy that I have found this film in 12 exposures because all the stores only sell 24 or 27 exposures which would stay in my camera for a year or more. I still like using my old 35mm camera so this is a great find for me. I have purchased this type of film several times on amazon and never had a problem.

This case, in a nutshell, is absolute garbage. Avoid this case AT ALL COSTS.

First, the material is cheap and shoddy, and the stitching is sub par. The corners are mangled and the edges protrude an inch in every direction beyond the edge of the actual tablet, almost as if this case was pressed with cheap faux leather and never trimmed down to size.

The cover is just a little flap, with no clip, magnet, or any other means of securing it to the device. It might as well be made of notebook paper for all its worth.

Avoid this case like the plague. Buy an iPad 1 case instead, if its not silicone based the Touchpad will fit like a glove.

look closely... the actual case edges are two pieces side by side sewn together and then they cut out holes for the device. I'm going to have to buy another case because it's just not attractive enough. If i didn't buy this to show off it wouldn't be a problem. but other cases around the same price look ALOT better.

I own several tablets and have gone through numerous cases for all of them. Most recently, I bought a 32GB Touchpad and wanted a simple, yet durable case that wasn't priced insanely. Some peers spoke highly of the rooCASE, so I placed my order and I was instantly impressed when I took it out of the box.

PROS: The exterior is textured so it can't slip out of your hands easily and it doesn't attract dust my chief complaint with the standard Apple iPad cover. The inside cover is a soft felt that is gentle on the Touchpad display. Sliding the TP into the cover is very easy, and an easily folded flap secures the TP in the cover. All ports are easily accessible. For the price, you simply aren't going to get a better case than this one for your Touchpad. Highly recommended!

CONS: The only thing I wish this had was a felt sleeve inside the cover for business cards or a few scraps of paper.

Although this rooCASE says it is for the Toshiba netbook, the one that specifies the Asus netbook has exactly the same dimensions, so looks to be the same case.

OtterBox Defender-Series Hybrid Case and Holster for HTC EVO 3D (Black)

I have had my EVO from the day it was first released to the mass public. I have tried multiple cases for the phone since then. Some had a holster while others did not. To me this was a major factor in the cases I would actually buy and use. I do not like keeping my cell phone in my pocket or laptop bag.

When I first read about the Otterbox case line I was disappointed to see that they were not yet available. Being an avid SCUBA diver I was familiar with the Otterbox name and knew first hand of the quality products they put out (no I don't work for the company). I put myself on the waiting list and watched as they released the lineup finally ending with the Defender case I had wanted from the beginning. I ordered it the day it came out and received it days later.

Pro:

It's tough. Plain and simple, this thing will take a beating. If your hard on your phones or have kids that play with your phone, this is a big plus. The case is made up of a two piece hard shell unit that acts as sandwich over the phone. This has an integrated front non-glare looking cover to protect the screen. It also has a similar clear cover over the back camera and flash. So far I have not noticed this affecting photos in any manner. Nothing covers the speaker to distort the sound. Beyond that is the rubber cover that cradles the hard shell plastic. If you drop this thing I don't see how your phone will be damaged unless it somehow falls directly on the screen. If that happens I don't know of any case that will help you. The rubber wrapper has flaps that cover the major ports, sound, HDMI and charge ports. It has its own integrated stand as the stock EVO stand is not accessible. It has integrated buttons for wake and volume control. A simple hole allows access to the phones microphone. A cutout provides access to the earpiece and front view camera. The cradle itself is something I am getting used to. It will hold your phone in a landscape format so it is easy to pop in and out. My old case had the catch at the top of the phone. The catch is not spring loaded but rather tension holds the phone in place by clipping to the integrated detent on the hard shell portion of the case.

Con:

It's big. The EVO is already a beast in size and this will add to it. If you're not a fan of the phone size already then you may want to shy away from this particular case as it will only frustrate you. Another thing that I will have to get used to is the time it takes to put in and out of the case. I have one of the sprint car mounts made specifically for the EVO and it will only hold the phone itself, no case allowed. This may improve for me with time perhaps, but now it adds a few minutes to the start and end of my drive to prep the phone for the mount. Only time will tell if removing it regularly will have any effect on the case. Personally I doubt it will. The rubber wrapper takes some work to get just right but once it's in place its fine. Mind you putting the phone in the case takes just minutes but people who may have some experience with the two piece shell cases or the simple silicone covers from other manufactures my not like this. Last thing is it's pricey. At $50.00 plus this is a bit much.

Personally I am happy with the case, it will protect my EVO just fine for as long as I own it.

This is a great case if you want to ruggedize your phone. It has huge protection for the screen, with a great (in my experience, another reviewer's differed) clear cover that's actually built into the protective Otter frame. After assembling the two piece skeleton around the phone, you pull a thick rubber coating on top of that. I think that set up will be great at absorbing shock. On top of the clear screen protector, there's a full 1 centimeter lift that makes it really hard for anything to come into contact with the screen. It also has some protection for the speaker grill, although it's obviously left uncovered, by the same depth difference.

The cameras are protected really well, again, with a huge depth difference and a plastic cover that fits on top of them. It looks like it'll interfere with photo taking, but I've taken about 100 photos with the case on and couldn't notice, so I think it's ok.

The case is also quasi-waterproof. Every port is closed rubberized hinges, except the speakers (front and back). That said, if you put the phone, screen in, into the belt holster, only the single speaker in the back is exposed to the elements. And it's quite small. I wouldn't want to test this in heavy rain, but I think the phone would survive even if exposed by belt holster.

The rubberized case looks very tough and has great grip. The included holster works well and is also tough, plus can be easily converted into a stand. The rubberized cover over the camera shutter doesn't seem to interfere at all, I can still easily feel the two stages. The 3D slider is a slight hassle to get to, because you have to unplug a rubberized hinge, but you don't need to get to it too often and it's not a big deal. The same is true for the micro-usb port, but since you use that all the time, it's a bit more annoying, and I'm worried the rubber hinge will break over doing this a few thousand times. So far it's doing fine though.

I have only a couple complaints about the case. The first one is the doozy. It doubles the thickness of your phone and makes it borderline uncarryable in your pocket. Now, it comes with a holster, so if you want to carry it like that, it makes no difference, and I have to wear a suit most days so it doesn't bother me much. But when I'm not at work I'm usually in jeans, and you can easily see the square print of the phone in my pocket. It's a pain to put it in and take it out of the pocket too because the thickness, combined with the rubbery texture, adds huge friction and ends up pulling out a lot of cotton fibers that make it look really dirty.

The second problem isn't a big deal in my opinion. The case cost about $50 USD which seems like a lot. But currently it is the best out there, and it's an expensive, heavy phone that's going to break if you drop it. So I don't mind the rather extravagant fee for the peace of mind too much. The real question is whether or not I'll keep it when the official HTC "Iconic" case comes out, because it looks nicer and thinner. If I remember, I'll add to this review when I buy it and compare them.

I used to hate phone "cases" and always just got Zagg Invisible Shields for my devices. I don't like big gadgets in my pockets, and I despise belt holsters. I bought this because I needed protection ASAP and Best Buy didn't carry the full (front+back) Invisible Shield for this phone. I was very concerned for the exposed cameras on the back. I thought I would take it back after trying it out.

I'm sold. It does at least double the thickness of the phone, but I can still fit it into my jeans pocket (though the rubber does make it difficult to slide in and out). The quality of the protection and the usefulness of the belt clip are well worth it. I don't actually use the belt clip on my belt though. The clip locks in the open position allowing you to use it for a stand, which is great for my nightstand when I use it for an alarm clock. The clip is also solid enough to be used as a GPS mount, all you need to do is velcro something on your dash to clip it to (I woodshopped a solid dash dock out of scraps)

Besides the added size, here are a couple other minor CONs:

If you have big fingers pressing the extreme edges of the screen can be tricky because of the elevated edge of the case. You get used to it though.

The 2D/3D switch is also little tricky to reach, so if you use this switch a lot that could get annoying. I rarely use 3D though, so not a big deal.

Dust can slip under the screen protector through the opening for front speaker. I feel they could have make this opening tighter without covering the speaker. Again, not a big deal though because it only takes a couple minutes to remove the case and clean it out (packing tape works great for removing dust)

this case is AWESOME!

Pros:

the case is very well built and feels secure in your hand(it is otterbox after all). the plastic is real tough and the outer casing gives it a very rugged look.

it covers the camera so u don't have to worry about getting that scratched(htc is notorious for having cameras that pop out)

the clip is real sturdy as well so u don't have to worry about it swerving all over the place

Cons:

the casing makes it a bit difficult for me to hit the keys closest to the edges and the screen protector it comes with is a bit odd. the screen doesn't adhere to the screen its apart of the case(i installed another screen protector before i bought the case as well)

i do recommend this for everyone who has this phone!

I bought 2 Otterboxes from Amazon in Sept 2011. 2 weeks later one had broken, and both plastic coverings were not fitting right at all! They were bubblying from the back and falling apart. I called the original Otterbox store and they replaced both pieces for Free! They did say some Otterboxes do become hot and when they do the plastic around it becomes easy to pull off. They said something about a 1 year warranty, which I became totally happy! Whoo-hooo!!!!! Amazon thanks for bringing me the best price!!!!
