**** Revision to initial review. I want to start by saying that PC Micro went out of their way to make this shipping fiasco right. I did finally receive the correct case. I did have to order directly from them, but they reimbursed me back all my shipping and upgraded the shipping to expedited (to make comparable to Amazon prime). I know they are working with Amazon to insure that the correct models are marked and that when the new model of the cover is ordered, the new model is received. Hopefully others won't have this problem like I did.

That being said, I will review the product directly.

I owned the original model of this iPad cover and was really excited to see that this new model enables you to adjust the iPad from Landscape to Portrait. It is an awesome feature and it works really well. That being said, I will be honest with you. While we love this case, it is not perfect. Some of the drawbacks were very frustrating, so my family has revised this iPad cover slightly to compensate for some of those imperfections.

1. If you read my original review of this older model of this iPad cover, you will find that I compared it to the Zoogue case for the iPad. I loved the Velcro feature of the Zoogue case! It enables an infinite number of viewing angles with complete sturdiness. This rooCase allows for multiple angles, but the stand can move and jostle and even slip out of the grooves sometimes. But, since this particular case has a much better fastener for closure and better options for color than the Zoogue, we preferred this design. What was our solution? I went to the store and bought industrial strength Velcro tape. I taped the soft side of the tape to the groove area of the cover and then taped the loop side of the Velcro tape around the tip of the stand. The result is that I can adjust my iPad to any angle I desire PLUS, it never moves from that position. I can even pick it up and carry it across the room and it stays at my desired angle. The Velcro tape does NOT interfere with the magnet that keep the stand down when not in use like I feared and, even though I was worried it would look funky, it really doesn't. As soon as everyone else in my family saw how awesome the Velcro idea was, they demanded I put the Velcro on their cover as well.

2.) The second negative regarding this case (and the vast majority of cases for the ipad) is that the corners remain exposed. Even being careful, I noticed dings on the corner of my ipad 2 as a result of its lack of protection. I started brainstorming options to protect my iPad better when I came upon a couple of iPad plastic covers that protect the back of the iPad and that people buy to use with the smart cover. Some of these plastic cases are very thick, but there are a couple (one sold here on Amazon) that are only 1.2 mm thick. I bought one, snapped it on the back of my iPad and then slipped the iPad back into the rooCase. To my surprise, it fit! Now my corners are protected by the plastic case. Again, I ordered more for everyone else in my family (and bought the corresponding colors to match our cases).

Okay, so in reality, we have revised the cover a lot, but with those revisions, I believe it is a thing of perfection! Now with the landscape and portrait options, it is the best of every world!

(Original review regarding shipping...)I have always loved the roocase iPad cases, and to be honest, I love this new design and all of its features. I have the old model of this case, but recently my mother bought me this newer adjustable design in magenta. I LOVE it, and after seeing it, my husband asked to get one too. Soooo, I ordered one on Amazon, being extra cautious to buy the new model that turns portrait and landscape. Unfortunately, they sent the old model. No problem, simple mistake, right? I issued a return and ordered the item again. Once again, I was careful to not just look at the picture, but read the description to be 100% that I was ordering the new model. 2 days later, I receive what in the mail? The old model!! So, I called Amazon, letting them know that something was going on during shipping and distribution that was causing the error. What was their solution? "You will have to order the case directly from the company to ensure you receive the correct model". What??? Nothing against PC Micro,, but I pay an annual fee to be a prime member so I can receive my items either in 2 days or overnight, why should it have to pay for slow ground shipping from other company(thereby losing the Amazon guarantee) when amazon should honor their FBA?. Don't order this case until amazon and the seller get their stuff together.

Difficult to place and easily pulled in dust particles during placement. I was expecting a thin layer such as I had used on my e-reader. This material was thicker and inflexible.

Ionic Bluetooth Keyboard Tablet Stand Leather Case for "The New iPad" 3rd Gen 2012 Model & Apple iPa

Ionic Bluetooth Keyboard Tablet Stand Leather Case For Apple iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad 2nd, iPad 3rd, iPad 4th Generation Tablet AT&T Verizon 4G LTEI gave only 4 stars because I am not in love with the keyboard. It's very good but not excellent. I purchased the white and orange case. (ps.. it's tangerine orange not red)

The good: I think the price is outstanding. I think the look is great, too. Doesn't look cheap. I connected to the iPad 3 with barely any effort. Shipped in a professional package with easy to follow pairing instructions. The case does wake and put the iPad 3 to sleep. The keyboard is designed for Mac users so the keys are familiar. The top function keys are awesome and an added bonus if you ask me. You get function keys -Play, rewind, fast forward, volume, monitor brightness, search, the up down right left arrows.. The case also has a Kick stand on back of the screen to prop up the iPad.

The bad: The keys are all flat and smooth. No contrast when typing .. It's not comfortable for me and I make a lot of errors and miss letters and the space bar because of it. HOWEVER it's still better than the virtual keyboard which I hate and who knows I may get use to it .. Its better than the one-finger peck typing on the ipad's virtual keyboard. Also no vertical display only horizontal. There's no track pad probably because the ipad is touch screen but I still tried to swipe an imaginary one out of habit.

I honestly don't know what people's expectations are when it comes to a keyboard for a tablet. Honestly, this case is a wonder. The look is very professional and it's padded on the outer cover so it can have protection just incase you have accidents. First of all, the ipad fits PERFECT in the case. It does not move at all, and all the buttons on the sides or top are completely exposed so its easily reachable. The keyboard attaches itself perfectly to the case using magnetic technology. Even if you take it off (which is just pull it up) and throw it at the case, it will fall and pull itself in perfect place. Now, you might be thinking if the keyboard easily comes off, the answer is no. I tested by shaking the cover and swinging it fast but the keyboard did not come off at all, so you can always type and move your arms around and for sure the keyboard will always stay put. The stand on the back of the case looks very stylish and its hard to comprehend that it's actually a stand considering that it sticks to the cover using magnetic technology just like the keyboard and it looks as if its a part of the case design. It has a little cloth which you can pull to bring out the stand so you can mount your ipad and turn it into a laptop. The stand is very duarable, and it even holds the ipad on soft surfaces such as bed/couches (tested) while you type. Now for the battery life of the keyboard, continuous use it can last for about 2-3 hours, and if not in use, it can last for about 4 months (That's what the company stated). The keyboard connection uses bluetooth, which is extremely easy to connect. To connect all you do is turn on your keyboard and go to your ipad bluetooth settings, turn it on, and click on the keyboard's name when it appears and it connects in less than a second, done. The size of the keyboard is about the same as the iPad so about 9 inches and honestly if your a regular computer user, usinig this keyboard will be a breeze, even if its a little small. The letters are placed just like a regular keyboard and you can pretty much control all your functions of the ipad through it, such as sound/brightness/photos etc.

Honestly, for the price this thing is a steal. Crazyondigital might not be a wide known company, but I am sure glad I stumbled across this item and decided to take a chance. Hope I helped!

Fun Fact: I wrote this entire review on the keyboard on my iPad. Another fun fact, when I ordered this item, USPS lost it in the mail and when I informed Crazyondigital after a week, they sent me another one within two days. This company has great customer service so don't hesitate buying this product.

My case arrived last week. I have been using it and so far so good. Yes, the keyboard is small but what do you expect from a tablet keyboard? The bluetooth synced instantly. I like that the keyboard is detachable. The on-board speaker is great for listing to music as it amplify the sound from iPad 3. This case and keyboard really lets you streamline your desktop or larger laptop computer into a compact size. With applications like Evernote, Ghostwriter and LogMeIn (remote desktop access) my iPad2 becomes a compact computer away from home. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

When I got my iPad3 I did a lot of research on cases and wouldn't even take my ipad out of the box until I had the case and screen protector ready to go (torture!).

A keyboard was important to me, and I came close to buying the $80 keyboard case at Best Buy. SO glad I didn't.

First this case is really cute. Like another reviewer said, it is not red but rather a tangerine orange which is actually a 'pro' in my opinion. The leather is high quality. The magnets work and put the iPad into sleep mode when you shut it.

The keyboard works great. Of course it's very small and a little hard to type on, but there really isn't any getting around that since it has to fit the width of the ipad. I LOVE that the keyboard can be removed. This is a huge bonus! I really don't need the keyboard that often after all. If I'm going grocery shopping and using my iPad for my grocery list, I leave the keyboard at home for example.

The keyboard did not come with instructions on how to connect and being pretty ignorant to how bluetooth devices work I had no idea what to do. I called the customer service number and got a human being right away. She was not the most friendly, customer service oriented person I've ever spoken to. But still she was better than talking to an automated system and she helped me figure it out sort of. She didn't walk me through step by step or anything, it as more like "well did you go to the bluetooth settings on your ipad?" and then I had to figure out where those were, but once I did it was easy to figure out from there.

I guess the only criticism I have for this product is I wish the stand was sturdier. It's kinda floppy. It works don't get me wrong, but only on a flat surface like a table. If you have it propped up in your lap or something it probably won't stay propped up. Not a huge issue really, I'd still highly recommend this case especially for the price.

I bought this case because it had the keyboard that i need for my work. The case doesn't matter much to me. However, I only noticed how nice it is when I repeatedly received compliments from my colleagues. The case give the iPad a very professional look yet classy. If you use the iPad with this case in Starbuck, you will get several head-turns. The keyboard is very responsive and easy to type on. I highly recommend this case if you want to impress someone.

HandHelditems(TM) Motorola Xoom Anti-Fingerprint, Anti-Glare, Matte Finishing Screen Protector (3 Pa

HandHelditems(TM) Motorola Xoom Anti-Fingerprint, Anti-Glare, Matte Finishing Screen ProtectorFor those that said this screen protector is junk, I don't think had they much experience putting on large screen protectors. The fact that this doesn't come with detailed instructions doesn't help, but here's a guide to how to get the screen protector to work perfectly.

Before you start you'll want to have some clear tape on hand, this will be to remove any dust particles the get stuck to the sticky side of the screen protector.

Make sure you apply this in an environment that is dust free (at least as dust free as you can get), I recommend a bathroom. Thoroughly wipe down the area you'll be working in with a wet cloth to remove any dust from the area.

On the screen protector you have two tabs, 1 and 2. The first tab protects the underside of the protector (the side that goes on the Xoom's screen), the 2nd the side that faces up. You only want to start to peel back tab 1 an inch or so to start. You're going to apply the screen protector kinda like you would a band aid, peel off the 1st tab only a bit evenly across the narrow side of the screen protector. Line up the narrow edge of the screen protector with the narrow edge of your Xoom. This part is crucial, be sure to put the edge of the screen protector right up against the edge of the Xoom's screen and that it's perfectly aligned. As you pull the backing off use the micro-fiber cloth to press the screen protector down and to remove bubbles as you peel away the backing working your way across the screen. As you're working the screen protector from one side to another if you notice any dust particles between the screen and the screen protector lift the screen protector back up to the dust particle and using the clear tape I mentioned earlier stick it to the underside of the screen protector to remove the dust, this works great.

You may end up with a few bubbles, before you take of the top layer (tab 2) work the bubbles from the middle out wiping the screen protector with the micro-fiber cloth supplied with it. With a little work you'll have a perfectly aligned, bubble free Xoom. This may take a little practice but you should have it dialed after trying it once.

I've tried a few screen protector on my Xoom and this one is the best for sure. The bubble are relatively easy to get out and I like the anti-glare. Yes, the anti-glare will make the screen look a little grainy but that just comes with all anti-glare screen protectors. If you don't like that, then don't use an anti-glare.

For the price even if it takes you till the third try to get it perfect you still can't go wrong and the next time you order these you'll get it right the first time and have two more protectors to use down the road.

These are so much better than the Invisible Shield it isn't funny. Fit is absolutally perfect and installation literally took seconds. Shield is kind of a hard plastic making it much easier to apply and it was very easy to get air bubbles out as I was installing. Each shield in the package was individually wrapped and came with its own installation card which is made of thin cardboard as well as its own cleaning cloth which means three of everything. Matte finish though not fingerprint proof wipes clean with the swipe of a shirt sleeve and does a good job of reducing glare without reducing screen clarity to a great degree. Finger glides easily over the screen protector without the jumping and binding of the helicopter blade protection stuff other people use. If you need to protect a helicopter buy them, if not buy these shields. You will be much happier. As the reviewer before me said, the stylus listed was not in the package. I'm assuming there was a typo and they have not corrected but I wasn't expecting it at this price anyways. Only complaint I have was the shipping packaging. They came in a plastic postage envelope without any protection, not even a cardboard slip. There was no damage to mine but knowing the postal system, there could have been.

Buy HandHelditems(TM) Motorola Xoom Anti-Fingerprint, Anti-Glare, Matte Finishing Screen Protector (3 Pa Now

This screen protector was excellent in that it is non-glare or "matte" in type. It does a good job of light dispersion, and I found the brightness of the tablet not diminished all that much. I do "double takes" in stores where the same Xoom tablet is on tables for show, and they have high-gloss (standard glass) screens, reflecting all sort of ambient light from over head light fixtures. My tablet with this screen protector does not have the same "effect" and I really appreciate the non-glare screen. Application was easy, with little in the way of bubbles, however I used the "turn on the shower" trick that day to cut down on the random specks of air-born dust that get in the way, sometimes. Highly recommend this product.

I *really* like the matte finish on this screen protector...however it DOES NOT have a cutout for the front-facing camera. Because of the matte finish, images are fuzzy if the screen protector covers it up. I even tried aligning the protector as close to the bottom edge as possible with hopes it would line up below the lens, but no such luck. Had to resort to cutting a notch...which bends the screen protector ever-so-slightly and prevents an even overlay.

Two-stars since it's not 100% compatible with the Motorola Xoom. If it had the cutout, it's 5-star by far.

PNY 128 MB SmartMedia Flash Memory Card

PNY 128 MB SmartMedia Flash Memory Card
  • Specifically designed for use with digital still cameras and camcorders, handheld PDAs, portable MP3 players and other products that use SmartMedia for standard or extended data storage
  • Compatible with today's most popular operating systems, such as Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000, OS/2 and Mac OS
  • No moving parts means much lower power consumption, and skip-free playback
  • A non-volatile storage medium - your data is not lost when batteries die
  • Store, erase, and reuse - PNY SmartMedia Cards can be written and rewritten thousands of times

I agree with the previous review. I also bought this card and used it on my Fuji 4700, but after several months of use, a card error comes up. I re-format as FAT or FAT32 and it will work by taking 3 pictures only, but will eventually come up with another card error. I also bought a Sandisk version and it did the same thing. I own 3 useless 128MB cards and the one I use now is a 16mb card that came with the camera.

After a couple of weeks of use, the card failed work losing all the pictures from a trip to Arizona. Attempts to format and stick into card readers have failed. For the record, my camera is a Fuji FinePix 2800 Zoom.

I am likely to think twice about buying another PNY product (I have a third video card by PNY which is adaquete but could be better).

Read Best Reviews of PNY 128 MB SmartMedia Flash Memory Card Here

How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The PNY 128MB SmartMedia Flash Memory Card, like most 128MB cards, will store on average 142 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 106 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 64 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 51 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 40 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

Want PNY 128 MB SmartMedia Flash Memory Card Discount?

Smart media cards seem prone to the error message, but I found that if you rub it lightly on the metal strip, it works well again. It's the price you pay when your camera doesn't use compact flash or SD cards. I use a Fujifilm FinePix 6800z.

I'm really surprised at the number of bad reviews for this product. I have a 16MB Olympus card that came with the camera (a D-550 zoom), a 64MB that I got as a bonus of some sort, and the 128MB PNY. I never use either of the smaller cards. I have taken at least 2GB worth of pictures over the past 2 years and only once had to reformat the card. That was because I pulled it out of the reader before it had finished writing. I am very careful to transfer any non-repeatable shots to my laptop, then to my desktop, where I keep a series of folders that I restrict to 600 MB. I burn these to CD-ROM about once a month, then delete everything off the camera card.

My only complaint is the transfer time, but this is the only type of portable media I use, so I don't know how it compares to other formats.

Socket Communications AC4009-614 Li-Ion Mobile Power Pack

Socket Communications AC4009-614 Li-Ion Mobile Power Pack
  • HI-CAPACITY LI-ION BATTERY

I got this for several reasons. First, I am sick of buying extra batteries for my mobile phones and PDAs. For the price of two of those you can pick this unit up, so it quickly pays for itself if you buy new devices as often as I do. Second, I can now charge my devices anywhere I want to without having to sit in the floor at the airport or wander around at restaurants looking for an AC outlet. It comes with a ton of adapters and will readily charge most things that can be charged with a USB cable, so if your phone or PDA has a USB charging cable, that is all you need.

Buy Socket Communications AC4009-614 Li-Ion Mobile Power Pack Now

I purchased this unit about 5 years ago, for a cross-country bicycle tour, and this thing just won't quit!

I kept my Palm TX pda (with wi-fi), and flashlight, always charged throughout the extended journey.

Back at home, I also found that there are so many portable devices that are greatly enhanced by the 5VDC 7.2Amp-Hour socket® mobile power pack.

My latest project is hacking a 8" Frame Wizard® image/video/sound device, with the 5VDC 7.2Amp-Hour socket® mobile power pack pressed into service, again, for the task (will power audiovisual presentations on the device for four hours, by the way).

If this trusty, hardworking unit eventually dies I will most certainly break it open and replace the dead Lithium-Ion cells with newer, and even higher capacity, Lithium-Ion cells.

Read Best Reviews of Socket Communications AC4009-614 Li-Ion Mobile Power Pack Here

Basically there's nothing else to add to that the previous reviewer didn't say. It rapidly charges all your portable digital devices (including phones, pdas, mp3 players...basically anything with a usb cable).

The unfortunate problem is that the battery pack (held in the socket case you see pictured) is an actual 5volt Lithium Ion battery that fits into the palm of your hand and is somewhat heavy---no lightweight power source here. Unless you have a long trip ahead of you, it's not something you can lug around every day on your shoulders, particularly if you carry a heavy load everyday as it is. It weighs about 1.5 pounds and you feel every inch of it if you're carrying a small bag or even a messenger bag for a long period of time.

That said, even though it's the ONLY problem, it's also the LEAST of the problems because it Works so well. Additionally, it has a bonus that other lighter weight power packs do not: This pack has the MAXIMUM power wattage 7200mah found in any other battery pack on the market as of the date of this review. Check around and you'll see it's the truth. What that means is that the output gives you a longer charge in a shorter amount of time and actually has more staying power left over. This is a powerful external battery source and worth the money until Socket creates something similar in a lighter weight...and I'll buy that too whenever it comes out. I'll take a picture of the battery pack as it really looks inside and add it to the pictures above.

Want Socket Communications AC4009-614 Li-Ion Mobile Power Pack Discount?

I have two of these. I bought my first one from Dell back in 2005 as an extended battery pack for my Axim X50v PDA. Since then, my mobile life has expanded to a small but expensive collection of PDAs, superphones, ipods, and tablets. The Socket Mobile Power Pack drives them all! After hundreds of charges, this high-density battery has not shown any signs of performance degradation.

I misplaced my first one during a move last summer and absolutely could not live without it, so I purchased a new one from Amazon, which was 30 bux cheaper than Dell! Of course, my original MPP turned up several weeks after the second one arrived. If it was any other electronic device, I would have sent the new one back, but having two of these babies is actually a good thing...

  • The ultra-mini size with contoured hand grips makes it the ideal choice of remote interface for user environment without desk surface
  • For user environment without desk surface such as home theater setting in a living room.
  • The smartphone-style keyboard eliminates learning curve; thumb typing on the keyboard is as easy as typing on a mobile phone.
  • Designed with the latest wireless technology, this keyboard provides up to 33-foot of wireless transmission range.

So let me start by saying, THIS ITEM IS IMPOSSIBLE TO USE!

I bought this device for $70 dollars on my birthday. Got it home and plugged it in and it connected immediately. It is shaped nice, with decent keyboard lay out, and button feel. Mouse L and R click are located on top. The Scroll is joystick oriented. Great idea. Horrible follow through. The pointer constantly slammed into the top and bottom of the screen, allowing me only left and right movement. In order to move the pointer up and down I had to find a spot on the joystick that resisted turning and grind it into that spot until it clicked. At this point it would allow me to move up and down normally for a random amount of time till it repeated to flee to the top and bottom of the screen.

In short.. not a good idea. Dont buy this.

Ps. I tried to write this review with it and gave up after 20 minutes of fighting with it.

I bought this from frys, and returned it. The joystick just wasn't working well with any member of my family. I have some senior citizens in my household, and they just couldn't work with the joystick.

I ended up buying the logitech dinovo mini from amazon, and I would tell you that it is worth every penny !

Pro: The ergonomics are pretty darn good. It fits in my hands, it feels sturdy, the joy stick and mouse buttons are easy to reach, and it seems to have the keys laid out well enough. On the one hand, charging via USB is nice (like other similar devices do), but I prefer how this one has removable AA batteries instead (having both capabilities would be the best).

Con: The keyboard DOES NOT WORK!! I am going to return it. If I try another, I will update my review if it works.

To confirm another reviewer's comment: the mouse joystick is VERY hard to use on small buttons. The slow speed described in the manual is too hard to stay in because it jumps into high speed at the slightest twitch. If it were easier to stay in slow speed, then the mouse would be fantastic.

It seems like the perfect remote for a HTPC; if only it worked.

I chose this keyboard because it seemed to be the most ergonomic to hold compared to the other small wireless keyboards Frys had to offer. It is actually pretty ergonomic but the problem is the joystick does not allow fine control of the cursor at all! i have tried setting the mouse speed on my computer to slow and fast and everything in between and I always overshoot when trying to move the cursor no matter what the setting. Its actually quite laughable to see me try to click something on the screen; sometimes it takes a whole minute just to get the cursor where i want it. And its not just me, my husband had the same problem. I will definitely be returning this.

I use it to watch Netflix and YouTube videos on my TV. I've had this for several months and it works fine for me. Has a nice feel to it and is comfortable to use. Don't know why others are having problems. My PC is in the corner of my living room, the RF Sensor is about 8 feet from me and to my left and slightly behind me and I have NEVER had problems with the signal not working.

The joystick is very sensitive and sometimes it can be hard to get the mouse pointer to the correct spot. However, I found that if you go into your mouse settings on your PC and slow down the pointer speed of your mouse that the joystick will be easier to use. Also on some websites where the buttons are small, I adjusted the zoom on my browser so the buttons are larger and easier to hover over.

It sure is nice to sit in a comfortable chair and control your PC!

HP iPAQ 4355 Pocket PC

HP iPAQ 4355 Pocket PC
  • Slim, sleek, and affordable
  • Dazzling Transflective TFT color with LED backlight display
  • Pocket versions of familiar applications like Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Removable/rechargeable batterand integrated keyboard
  • Integrated Bluetooth

I have owned almost every iPaq made to date plus a few other brands and without a doubt, the 4355 is the best by far. Yes it is a bit bigger then most of the other iPaq's, but I do not have a problem with that as it fits so well into my hand and just "feels right" A 1560 mAh battery comes standard with the unit which is about 500 mAh more then most PDA's resulting in a good 3-4 days usage before recharging. I spent once over two hours on WiFi at a local Starbucks and the battery was still going stronge. The WiFi setup could not be simpler, just turn on the unit, select WiFi ON and it has a "snooper" built in and will find the Wifi, add all the correct addressing information and you just connect right away. Takes no more then 10 seconds to handle this. The BlueTooth works perfectly on my HP printer at up to about 30 ft and the other nice thing I found is that the Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard has a universal Bluetooth transmitter/receiver and and I could hook into this with ease for ActiveSync. Along with that, I purchased a 512 MB SD card, a beautiful leather case by the company Piel (www.ipaqcases.com) and with those options I am all set. I find I actually use the keyboard alot and its very neat as its got a "Timex Indaglo" color blue backlight for the keyboard which is very handy.

I use the unit for alot of large JPG pictures and they look stunning on the display and also maps created by MapPoint 2004 for Pocket Streets and its amazing ow fast this unit will open even a very large map (17 MB) The screen can be read outside in bright sunlite (well as bright as it gets here in Seattle) which I cannot say for many other PDA's. The programs just "snap open" (e no waiting and rare to see the hourglass symbol) This PDA does of course run the latest PPC software which is called Pocket PC 2003 Premium. Only bad thing, but this is the custom tese days with PDA's is no manual (partial one on the CD) So if you are new to Pocket PC's I would get something "Everything you have always wanted to go with your iPaq" by Frank McPherson. Also its neat as the battery charger unit with the built in USB 2.0 Interface (will run USB 1 also) has a second slot for an extra battery if you want. This kind of option it usually not available or if it is, sells for a rather high price. IF you do not think you will use the keyboard that is built in, there always is basically the same model without the keyboard and that is the iPaq 4155. But this unit does come with a smaller battery (1000 maH I beleive) and I really like the long life of the one that comes with the 4355. Usually I can also find a good number of things I don't like, but not in this model ! A clear winner in the PDA world !

Short and Sweet:

Pros:

WIFI (b) probably the best feature of this PDA is its ability to connect to the internet wirelessly through WIFI. Some other PDA's offer the ability to connect solely through bluetooth, which is a VERY limiting option for connectivity. With WIFI you can connect to your home network, thousands of commercial hotspots or the many, many open access wireless spots around the nation. For example: many hotels now offer WIFI access and now you can easily surf the web or check your email through your PDA while you are travelling AND its much easier to travel with than a laptop if all you really use your laptop for is email. (I don't recommend using the PDA for extended web surfing since most webpages are not formated for PDA screens).

-BLUETOOTHbut wait! there is a second option for you and that is bluetooth. Bluetooth is great for syncing with your laptop, computer, phone, etc. wirelessly. No more USB cables to sync your schedule and address book or even transfer files (although large files such as mp3's(music) should use WIFI or USB to transfer since Bluetooth is a bit slower, but it is easier to configure). You can also use Bluetooth in conjunction with your bluetooth phone to get your email where WIFI isn't available. Bluetooth is also amazingly valuable when you want to exchange information such as calendars, contacts (such as your own business card) or files with other bluetooth enabled PDA's.

-KEYBOARDI've had a PDA with the writing option and let me say, no matter how good you get (and it does take some practice), inputing text by graffiti is slower than typing with your thumbs. But still, the keyboard does need some time to get used to. My hands are average sized and I do find the keyboard very adequate for my hands.

-Tech Specscleary this is a top of the line PDA as far as the specs (memory, CPU speed, screen size, resolution) are concerned. Do you really need a fast PDA? I don't know about this, since it isn't like you are going to be doing photoshop on it or anything... but it is nice to know that you have a blazing fast PDA. The screen is a gem, very large compared to palms and very clear.

Cons:

-OSthe operating system is of the Windows genre, which is nice because most of us are familiar with Windows... BUT the OS is not very user friendly to PocketPC novices. Be prepared for some headaches when using some of the functions if you have little experience with PocketPC's.

-Sizereally I expected the size to be bigger, but actually its quite small enough for me (and certainly not heavy). On the other hand it is a lot bigger than many other PDA's and might be a concern for you. I'd suggest taking a look at it in real life before buying it online just to be sure you can live with the larger size.

-PRICEThis baby is expensive. If you just want to use your PDA for elementary tasks or you don't forsee yourself using the PDA daily or you just don't need all of the features... then certainly you can get by with a much cheaper PDA. If the PDA you are going to buy is going to be equivalent to your left arm, then by all means the price of this PDA is worth it.

-CRADLEthis is the contraption where the PDA docks. I found the cradle connection where the PDA plugs into it to be a little iffy. The PDA really doesn't slide into place well and quite frankly it scares me that I will break something off when I insert the PDA a little crooked. On the plus side though, the cradle does have a nice second slot to charge an extra battery at the same time you charge the PDA,

-BATTERY LIFENice bright screen, fast processor, WIFI, BLUETOOTH= battery hog. In my experience if I use it just to get schedule appointments and check an occasional emai, the PDA will last me about 2-3 days. If I use it as an mp3 player and to surf the web, sync via bluetooth and compose long emails. The PDA will last a max of 2 days before I need to charge it again. Still, simple measures such as turning off WIFI and bluetooth when not in use will greatly extend battery usage. And really as long as you park the PDA into the cradle every night, battery life isn't an issue.

-NO CAMERAokay, this really isn't an issue with me, but I just want to put it out there for people that might not have noticed. Many PDA's (especially PDA's that cost over $200) offer low resoltion cameras as a fun gimmick and this might be the selling point for you. So take heed, you do not get a fun gimmicky camera with this PDA.

Summary: Great PDA, but unless you are rich, it is a little pricey. I would definitely consider this if you are a business person or you need to keep connected constantly, but I would strongly suggest you look at other cheaper PDA's if this is not the case. Also great if you refuse to learn graffiti or you need to input text longer than a sentence or two.

I was nervous about switching over to PocketPC from palm, and that I would lose my information, programs, capabilities... But boy was I wrong! The transition was as easy as pie!

This unit blows away the competition with features. I needed something with a built in keyboard (this one has a blue backlight so you can type in the dark!), I can't be bothered with online writing utilities (which this one also has, if needed for some reason). The keyboard is one of the most comfortable I have been able to type with my actual fingers (unlike the CLIE's finger-nail type keyboard).

Of course it has WiFi and Bluetooth, is fully multimedia compatible. What really blew me away was the amount of software that it comes with. While Palm boasts a large software library, you have to purchase each program seperately, and it gets expensive! Palm comes with the bare minimums installed to sync with outlook you have to purchase software, for example. This PDA acts exactly like your Windows Based PC. Want to sync with Outlook? Go online? Look at a Flash document? It's all there! It really is foolproof.

The store that I tested this out in had wireless internet running through it. This device was FAST, and had no problems connecting to every website that I tested it out on. Since purchasing it, I've found it picks up signals really well. I've been able to drive around and jump on wireless networks in my town, even at the beach! Last night I streamed a radio station from England while at the beach. If that's not cool, I don't know what is!

I have not been able to find a more comfortable thumbpad keyboard on a PDA device with more features, or a better value than this one! If you're in the market for a new PDA, I'd buy this if I were you!

This is a pretty cool PDA. I got it for my third year of medical school and I haven't been disappointed. It's lightning fast, and the OS seems pretty stable. The only thing I'd do differently is not place as much importance on having a physical keyboard. I initially thought that the keyboard would be a great plus, but I rarely use it. For the times I do use it (typing passwords on web forms when I don't trust my scribbling), I could easily use the pop-up screen keyboard.

Another issue, which has been raised here before, is its wireless capabilities. The thing only supports the older WEP authentication, and not the newer WPA (which is more secure). I had set up my home network with WPA, but I had to downgrade it to WEP to use the iPAQ. This is annoying, not to mention puzzling. I mean, it's 2004 and they still haven't implemented 802.11g?

I guess this is partly the fault of the OS, which superficially resembles Windows XP. A problem I've had with the OS is that when you hit the `x' in the upper right of the window (x=close, one would think), it only minimizes the program (it seems to stay on in memory and you have to shut it down in memory). This is retarded. A minus sign would be a more accurate representation.

A word about HP support. Their online knowledgebase is almost useless (I was searching to see if the iPAQ had 802.11g support), and no matter what you do, don't use their online chat support. The chat tech support guy I had was completely clueless, took 5 minutes to answer each message I sent, and didn't even bother acknowledging his ignorance. He just sent me a word document and told me to read it. The only thing he was good for was giving me the HP supprt phone number (which was wrong, but they automatically transferred me). Get their phone number (it's supposedly hidden deep somewhere) and call them. The phone tech support guy I talked to (after a long wait) was professional, helpful, polite, and knowledgeable.

Finally, if anyone else is using this for medical school, note that your friends will probably have Palms. They'll be beaming their cool programs to each other (for free), while you stand idly by with your incompatible iPAQ. On the other hand, our school has moved their records electronic, and they've chosen iPAQs. Take a look at what your colleagues and schools are using before you spend the big bucks.

We had the product and really loved it for 30 days...then for no reason, (we didn't drop it or bang it) the screen got a crack in it...Since we were still under warranty called HP...sorry the screen isn't covered. They wanted 175 dollars to fix it...it then took them over a month to send the box that we were to ship it in...then because it took so long...Oooops the price for the repair went up to $199. We will never buy another HP product again...

Gomadic Brand Horizontal Black Leather Carrying Case for the HP iPaq 211 with Integrated Belt Loop a

Gomadic Brand Horizontal Black Leather Carrying Case for the HP iPaq 211 with Integrated Belt Loop and Optional Belt Clip
  • Constructed of premium black leather, this slim fitting and classically designed carrying case will fit any clothing style or fabric.
  • Detachable belt clip can be used as a carrying option. Case also has an integrated belt loop to provide a second alternative.
  • Case dimensions are sized to accommodate 134.4 x 75.6 x 18.2 mm . A perfect fit for the HP iPaq 211.
  • Functional horizontal orientation provides for easy access and storage of the HP iPaq 211.
  • Cutouts on both the sides and bottom of the case provide access to critical device controls and ease of removal.

I purchased the case hoping it would protect my iPaq 211. The one review I read says it it a bit big or oversized. It is big, but it works. I am wearing it right now, and it does not get in the way, and it does do it's job; protecting the iPaq and contaning it. The only difference in the design would be to put an extended flap on it so the lid is secured on the bottom. I'm concerned that the magnetic clip which secures the closing flap might damage the screen if it is accidently bumped.

Buy Gomadic Brand Horizontal Black Leather Carrying Case for the HP iPaq 211 with Integrated Belt Loop a Now

Just received mine today. The case is roomy. The iPaq 211 fits in easily. There is about 1/3in of space leftover inside the case. The magnetic snap works but was hit or miss as to whether it fully locked or not.

The beltclip is the weak link of this product. It doesn't sit snug against the case. Only the top of the beltclip is attached to the case. The bottom portion of the clip hangs free. There is enough of a gap between the bottom of the clip and the case that your belt could ride up into that gap instead of the actual beltclip! This will be a problem for people who put on and take off the case on a regular basis (or even over time).

The clip itself is suspect since it is just a piece of plastic that has been molded into a clip. It doesn't feel sturdy or durable.

In closing, the case itself is nice. It looks good. It does the job. The beltclip ruins the overall experience. Would not recommend to other iPaq 211 owners.

I purchased the case about three weeks ago for my iPaq 111 Classic. It's a little too roomy for the 111, probably close to 3/4" too big. I was frequently knocking it off my belt and for about a week I toyed with the idea of returning it. I was still undecided, when the decision was made for me when the belt clip broke. I guess I just bought myself a $50 piece of leather junk.

The case is a little larger than it needs to be for my IPAQ 211 but serves the purpose well. Thank you.

Great product. Just installed it into a small form factor Dell Optiplex 780. It worked perfectly right out of the box, and it is now powering four older Dell monitors. It's a great value because it includes four mini DisplayPort to DVI adapters which allows you to easily connect with DVI to any older monitors (non-DisplayPort) that you want to include in your multi-monitor setup. The ATI drivers are easy and offer many, many configuration options. Great deal. Love it!

rooCASE Slim-Fit Case for Apple iPad Mini and iPad 4

rooCASE Slim-Fit Folio Case Cover with Multi Adjustable Viewing Angles for for Apple iPad 2 / iPad 3 / The new iPadI ordered this case along with the RooCase Dual Station Folio because they were offered for a very nice promotional price. I think I like this case better because it is slimmer and has a curved piece at the edge of the case that snaps it closed quite securely. I haven't had a chance to use it much, since I just received it today, but the strap to slip your hand through while folded back is one of the nicest features I have seen in an iPad case, and definitely better than folding a Smart Cover into a triangle to grab a secure hold like I do with my full size iPad. The case holds the mini securely and then releases two corners to stand in the multiple viewing angles. When I ordered my RooCase it was advertised as having the sleep/wake functionality, and while the case I received does not support this feature, I was sent an email from PC Micro Store even before my case arrived to inform me that the issue was known and a replacement would be sent to me without any further action needed on my part. That was wonderful customer service, it is not often that I experience such proactive communication from a vendor.

Great case. It is soft material over a hard shell. My iPad Mini locks in snuggly. It doesn't obstruct any of the ports. I feel like it gives great protection without adding a lot of heft. It has the ability to stand on its own in the horizontal position for movie watching. I love the strap for holding with one hand too. Craftsmanship is good. I recommend.

Buy rooCASE Slim-Fit Case for Apple iPad Mini and iPad 4 Now

I hope all those that bought the new iPad mini are enjoying it just as much as I am. This is my first tablet ever and I must say that it has been perfect for my needs, I am very pleased that Apple came out with this form factor. I am not here to talk about the iPad mini, rather I am going to give my thoughts on the case that I bought for it. Accessories are almost always a must when it comes to new devices, but you do not know always what to pick.

I found the rooCase Slim-Fit Folio Case Cover through Amazon.com and have been using it now for the past couple days. I must say for the price that I paid, I am very thrilled at the product I have received.

You can find the case available for purchase by following the link. rooCASE Slim-Fit (Black) Folio Case Cover for Apple iPad Mini

Now, I will say this case advertises a Sleep/Wake function, however I received an email stating the manufacturer knew it was defective and would be shipping out a new version very soon to me at no extra cost. At this point I cannot comment on that feature, but I will let you know when the new case arrives.

I love the slim factor of the case, it really adds very minimal bulk while adequately protecting the iPad. In my eyes it adds the right amount of bulk needed. One thing I will note as well is that the sleep/wake button is a *touch* hard to press, the one flap covers it every so slightly, but it is not a huge issue.

I was concerned about how well the iPad would retain in the case. I must say I was pleased to see that it was very secure in the case. I suspended it in the air over my bed, shook it around and it remained firmly in place.

The case allows you to view your iPad mini at 3 different viewing angles. I find the 2nd and 3rd angles to be the best myself.

Honestly, for as little as this case costs ($6.98 with shipping) I was not expecting a whole lot. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well made the case was and how well it does securing my iPad mini in place. It has a soft lining on the inside to protect the screen and back and all ports/buttons are easily accessible (with the minor, minor exception to the sleep/wake button).

For under $10, you are getting a solid on the go case, that even has a hand strap so you can hold on to the case. I am extremely pleased and hope you find this review helpful as you possibly pick out a case for your new Mini!

Unlike other reviewers, I have not received an e-mail offering a complimentary replacement as my early version does not have the sleep/wake function.

I also wish there was an elastic band to hold the lid folded back. Otherwise, this is a decent case overall.

Edit: As other early purchasers, I was offered a revised version of this case when it is released. However, since the seller has found out that the sleep/wake function is not available on the current version being sold, it is not being advertised with the sleep/wake function. So be aware of what you are buying and wait about 2 weeks from this review to purchase if sleep/wake is important to you. Otherwise, it is still a great case at an excellent price.

Case doesn't "lock" to front flap when using hand strap which makes it uncomfortable to use one handed when laying in bed. The flap with the iPad keeps falling due to gravity. Will try to post pic to demonstrate. Very annoying!!

I love my new kindle cover. I was surprised that the front with the flowers was smooth (I was expecting something like burlap), meaning that it snag on anything. The inside of the cover is like a black velvet finish, so your screen will definitely be protected, even if you don't have a clear shield over it. The kindle pops right into the back snugly. Definitely worth the price.

The first battery that was sent did not work at all. I contacted vendor and they sent me a new battery. The new battery allowed the Palm Tungsten 5 to turn on; however it would not hold the charge; so I still have a product that does not work. When I called the company they said if the product came on it was not the batterys fault. They did not offer any other solution.

I installed this replacement battery about one month ago and find myself pretty disappointed. Although the installation instructions were good the battery charge holds less then 1 week WHEN THE DEVICE IS NOT EVEN USED AT ALL. With the original battery the charge would hold several weeks.

If this is the "Highest Quality Aftermarket Battery Available" it's a pretty poor result.

Now, about 6 months later, this battery is shot. Does not even hold the charge for more than 24 hours anymore. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS SELLER!!!!!! THEY ARE FULL OF SH**!!!

I really like the fact that this kit comes with everything that you need to replace the Palm battery. The instructions were easy to follow and I didn't have any problems removing the old battery.

I actually got this to fix a friend's Palm. My friend is happy now, the Palm works like it should.

A well designed kit.
