OK, here's the lowdown on the brand-new NX-70V :

Screen as good as the NR series. Great readability, both indoors and outdoors.

Palm OS 5 haven't noticed much different from OS4 yet.

Built in apps Sony has made all of the built-in apps HiRes (320X480) for this unit, which is a big improvement from the NR series. The NX series also comes with a registered version of Documents To Go (standard edition), so right off the Clie installation CD, it is possible to sync and edit Word and Excel files right on the unit. Very nice.

Camera MUCH better than the NR70V. Still won't replace your standalone camera, but is very nice to be able to take halfway decent (640X480) shots with a PDA. Doesn't perform well in low-light situations.

Data Entry I can't imagine using the tiny keyboard for almost anything good thing graffiti is so good. On both the NX and NR series, the graffiti area is virtual (part of the actual screen), and they've made it so that it shows the ink as you draw the characters. Very nice.

Voice Recorder a nice little extra for meetings, etc.

Compatibility with older Palm OS programs better than I expected. I had a few that didn't run, but I would say 90% of the ones I was using do, with the exception of hack-type programs. Also, many developers have released, or are hard at work on OS5 compatible versions.

Battery life this is the only downside I've experienced so far. It's about as good as the NR series, as far as I can tell. Just as a test, I didn't charge it for a few days. I got 4 days worth of normal use (probably 1 1/2 to 2 hrs a day on average) out of it before it needed a charge. I might have been able to eke another day out of it, but I didn't want to take any chances.

Other Sony seems to have fixed the Memory Stick slot problem with the NX. I was experiencing drop-outs with my NR70, but have yet to have one with the NX. Also, speed launching apps, saving pics, etc. to the memory stick seems to be faster than the NR.

Haven't tried WiFi yet (my laptop has built-in wifi, so I haven't decided yet if I need it for an extra $150 in my PDA, too). I've also heard rumors that the CF slot will work with CF memory cards, if and when the memory card manufacturers write appropriate drivers. Don't know if this is so, but it would be very cool.

Personally, I love the clamshell design. Most of the time I use it in tablet mode, but being able to close it up is very nice, and saves the need for a case (at least as far as protecting the screen when not in use goes). It also has a very big WOW factor when you take it out and flip the screen around.

All in all, I have to give this unit a 5. I've owned PDAs from just about every generation of Palm (Pilot 5000, PalmPilot Pro, Palm III, Palm V, Visor Prism, Clie N760, Clie NR70, and now the NX), and this is unquestionably the best of the lot.

Summary: As you can see this product comes basically fully loaded. Yet, in my opinion the best feature is the built in keyboard. On previous PDA's to enter in information you either had to write in grafitti(which is the most annoying thing in world) or purchase an external keyboard, which is really expensive. Entering information into my Sony CLIE PEG-NX70V is so easy now, that I feel as if I have a computer right in the palm of my hand. The HOT-SYNC function on this product is the fastest and most reliable syncing that I have ever worked with. Because of the state of the art high resolution TFT screen with built in back-light, you can even look at your Sony CLIE PEG-NX70V in complete darkness or in extremely bright sunlight. There is no discoloration while using it while being outdoors. I don't suggest leaving it in the hot sun for long periods of time, though, because it will ruin the screen. I have not personally used the internet feature on my device, however, I have heard that it is the best wireless connection for any PDA. This PDA is so small that I can comfortably keep it in my pocket without any restriction in movement. All in all, I say that this product is miles ahead of any other product of its type!

I received the NX-70V for Christmas and I think it's an amazing device. Needing my PDA for medical school, I could have probably survived with a "bare bones" Sony Clie, but in the end I'm glad my parents sprung for the newest.

First off, let me just say that the graphics are really incredible. I had seen other people with PDA's that had the lime green colored screens and knew I wanted a color screen. But I've seen other PDA's with color screens that aren't backlit and let me just say the difference between those and the backlit color screen on the Clie's is the difference between night and day.

The camera takes some surprisingly good pictures when the Clie is absolutely still. Even the slightest movement makes the picture a bit blurry, which makes for quite a challenge considering that pushing the "Capture" button requires a slight movement. But with the Clie sitting on a counter or using the timer to take pictures, I've gotten some good quality pics. And the movies are entertaining and help capture the "feel" of a past moment, but don't expect to relive it in too much detail :-).

The battery life is amazing. I took my Clie with me on vacation for MLK weekend and brought the charger along, but I never even needed to use it. That may not seem too impressive, but when considering that I used it to take multiple pictures, a couple movies, and listened to mp3's for part of the flights to and from North Carolina, it was hard to believe I still had some battery power left to spare.

As others have said, don't even believe for a second you can use this product to its full potential without a Memory Stick. But spring for the cheaper one if you can. I bought the SanDisk one and it holds mp3's, movies, pictures, and everything else the Clie put on it. (And this was despite the fact that the guy at CompUSA told me I was wasting my time buying the SanDisk because he GUARANTEED me I would need a special MagicGate MemoryStick. Shows how much they know.)

In summation, if you need a PDA, want lots of bells and whistles, and have extra cash to spend, I say spring for the NX-70V.

Sony is really on top of the PalmOS game. I replaced my Palm M515 with a Sony NX70V this weekend, and was quite impressed. The hi-res+ screen is incredible! I was able to download a movie trailer for Spiderman in widescreen format and watch it. I'm still tinkering with all the bells and whistles, but I was able to take still photos and video clips just minutes after I unwrapped it. The camera's resolution isn't the best, but I bought a PDA, not a digital camera. Since I keep my PDA handy most of the time, it's nice to know I can snap a picture or get a quick video clip in a hurry.

The software I normally use doesn't begin to challenge the 200MHz processor, but some of the video apps may. I was very happy to see the difference the screen made with DocumentsToGo and Mapopolis. Much more useable, more readable. In SheetToGo, I can see more than 3 or 4 columns at a time!

The NX70 seems to access data from my 128MB memory stick faster than my old Palm M515 could read from an SD card. The Clie launcher takes a bit of getting used to, but it has its advantages, with quick buttons for your 8 favorite apps.

I looked briefly at the Tungsten T, which was almost as small as my M515. I'm glad I chose the Sony instead, as the virtual grafitti and virtual keyboard are much more practical to use, and that area can be used for the hi-res+ (320x480) video images. I don't have a use for the Tungsten's built in BlueTooth capability. The Sony's larger screen and built-in keyboard tipped the scales for me. I actually bought the NX60, w/o the built-in video camera, but I didn't even get out of the store before my wife convinced me (she didn't have to try very hard) that the built-in camera was worth the extra $$$ .

All in all, I am VERY VERY pleased with the Sony PEG-NX70V. I've spent the last few days trying to find new software to take advantage of its next generation of capabilities.

The Clie NX70 is a bigger (320x480), brighter palm-OS based PDA with a lot more -exactly what you'd expect from a Sony. Navigation among applications can be done with the traditional touch interface, pull downs, buttons directly to core functions or with the selector wheel.

Data input is done through graffiti or the built-in keyboard. I found the keyboard somewhat useful for quick jobs, especially while I've been learning the weirder letters in "graffiti," but any time I had to do upper case, punctuation or numbers, it's a pain because there are odd key combinations or locations.

The audio player works well, but you really need additional memory, otherwise you're limited to one mp3. Memory expansion is through Sony's memory stick format, which is unfortunately limited to 128Mb (compared compact flash, which can go higher). There is an additional compact flash slot, but it only supports Sony's network card.

The camera is a novelty and, in my opinion, not worth the additional 100 bucks over the NX60 model. Pictures max out at 640x400 and require perfect lighting. Any movement and you get blur.

The remote control is truly cool and supports Sony and select non-Sony TVs, stereos, DVD players and VCRs. It was really easy to set this up to control my hodge-podge entertainment center with a 12-year old RCA TV and a 8-year old Magnavox VCR.

The biggest weakness is in the PC software supplied. The installation program is a demo sheild front-end, and presents you with over two dozen things you can install on the CLIE or your PC. It's really confusing and requires administrative priveleges on your Windows box -this presents some difficulty in an environment where my IT department has things locked down.

Installation of the core Palm desktop on Windows XP directed me to Sony's site for an unspecific patch that I never could find. (Indeed, finding software updates was at least a half dozen clicks away.)

After the Palm desktop was installed, I was faced with a laundry list of additional options, with no guide as to what was important. For example, a really important one: Windows XP also needed the memory stick driver operating so it would recognize the stick as removable storage when the Clie was connected. On the other hand, there was also a lot of clutter like "8 ways to relieve stress."

This folio is exactly what I wanted. I researched just about every folio and tablet case for my Nexus on Amazon. Not easy with all the choices and a challenge sometimes judging by photos. What really helped my decision was a customer's video review of this product.

Took it on vacation with me a couple days after I got it and it was perfect! Loaded it with movies for the plane rides and the folio stand came in real handy on the seat tray. I have a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard for the Nexus, and the stand angles on this folio are ideal for viewing.

I bought the Accessorise Folio Case Cover for my son's Nexus 7 and he loves it. It is comparable in quality to $30 cases you would find in the stores. We watched a movie on a plane using the built-in stand and it performed flawlessly, despite a sometimes bumpy ride. The only drawback is the power button is a little difficult to access, but with the auto-on feature you don't need it much. We did not experience any of the odors that others have commented on. I looked around for a while before deciding on this case and am happy with my purchase.

First of, let's be clear this is an affordable case, not a high end one. That aside though, it is definitely worth the $3 I paid, and probably is worth at least $7. Here is why:

Pros:

1:Feels like leather

2: Looks like it could withstand a drop or two (it is a thick case, which is the drawback of this plus)

3: Soft inside material to cover the screen

4: handstrapnot the best because gravity will make the left corner slide lower than the right corner

5: Viewing standWas real nice when I set it on my lap and used it as a viewing stand. Has 2 different angles which works great for me

6: sealed with quite sturdy velcro, I can shake the case with no fear of it falling outI do adjust the velcro here and there to give it a more snug grip. This can be a bit bothersome until I remember the velcro is solid and the price.

7:Stretchy thingyNot sure the proper name for this, but it allows me to close the case with it so the flap has no chance of opening. Regarding the front cover, there are magnets allowing you to hold the case frontcover-side down (but a little shake and watch the "front cover" open)

8: AUTO SLEEP/WAKE!!!! This is a really nice feature because the screen goes off when the cover is closed, and turns on when the cover opens. No issue with the magnet being too strong as well (Probably because it is a thick case)

This leads me to the major gripes or disadvantages of the case.

Cons:

It looks like a leather book. This case is thick, so you can kiss pocketting your Nexus 7 goodbye.

The logo implies my name is "Ayl" Look at the photo. You will see the "Ayl" in the lower right corner(How accessorise got that is beyond me) This in my opinion is the dumbest part of the case. Seriously, it probably costs more to put that there and does nothing to further the company name. I would like it better if the logo was a simple "A" or a redesigned "A" or even the entire name "Accessorise" was put in a smaller font at the bottom right. I would ultimately prefer the logo under the tablet so it's hidden with the tablet.

All in all though, if you don't mind people asking Who "Ayl" is, I say it is an excellent $3 case for me.

I ordered the previous version and was very happy. Soon after they sent this replacement "upgraded" version. This version is slightly less bulky and the magnetic on off version works as expected. As others have mentioned, it does come with an odor, but now owning two, I can say that after a couple of days it does wear off and will no longer be an issue. The horizontal prop is greatly improved, however I can not seem to figure out how to vertically prop my device. Could be a user issue. This cover is a solid piece that I feel protects my Nexus well. A bargain find most definitely!

This case adds very little thickness to the iPad2. The fit is perfect, the magnetic switch works well, and the cover provides a useful horizontal tilting stand when open. I have used it for two months and there is no sign of wear. I also love the stylus. It helps keep the screen clean and makes accurate cursor positioning easier than using a finger.

This cover works perfectly with my iPad 2. I like that it is an integrated front and back cover. The Apple Smart Cover only protects the front, and the magnetic attachment gets stuck to things. The rooCASE cover has a magnetic closure that works with the iPad 2 cover open/close detection. My only complaint was the cover feels a bit on the cheap side. Other than that, it does a great job of protecting my investment, and I'm no longer worried about getting scratches/etc. on the back.

I liked the fact that the roocase is leather, it provides very good protection for your IPad. The only thing that I'm not crazy about, is when the cover is closed, it doesn't close tight enough to make the screen shut off automatically, I would have to turn the iPad off after I closed the cover. If not the IPad would stay on until I turned it off. Oh and the description says that this is the ultra slim Roocase, but it's not! This one is just the regular roocase because, when I ordered the ultra slim, it was going to be on back order for two weeks so they offered me this regular one instead.

Microsoft Surface 24W Power Supply

I like that this one is more like the chargers my Macbook Pros use, folding plug and no second cable to go from outlet to power supply. It *DOES* work great with the Pro, just is supposed to take longer to charge since it's obviously a less powerful PS. The cable from the plug to the power supply is the same length as the one for the Pro, so you only lose the length of the second power cable from the wall to the power supply of the pro version. But in reality, depending on where you are, you may find MORE freedom since the power supply won't be sitting on the floor. I have an outlet on the wall behind my couch, and if I use the pro, it goes from the height of the outlet down to the floor where the power supply has to sit, then back up to my level. With the smaller RT power supply the cable goes right from the outlet to my surface in a straight line, so I actually end up with the same amount of cable to work with along with the benefit of not "tugging" on the larger power supply and sometimes lifting it in the air from the tension...

Smaller, no big cable to go to the outlet that doesn't coil well, far more portable. So as long as you're not absolutely requiring that you fully charge up from "forced to sleep mode" 5% charge to 100% in 2 hours or less, this is a much better one to carry around with you. I tested charging times with the larger power supply that came with the Surface Pro and will post that info along with the results of the same test using the smaller more portable 24W for a good comparison once I've finished.

Edit I just did a total draw down of the battery to the point less than 5% where it forces itself asleep. I plugged in this smaller power supply and it took me the same amount of time to get a full charge as the full sized pro power supply did just under 2.5 hours. So even more of a bonus. Maybe it won't charge it as much if you're using it concurrently, but if you just have it sitting asleep and plug it in, this one charges as fast as the larger one that comes with the Surface Pro...

The product came in. We gave this to our kid for christmas. The manual says there is a CD . There was no CD. When we call the support it took few attempts to get support. They said to down load from the website. The installation never worked. I have done complex installations. May be it is their Win 7 version. But the product doesnot work. I bought this as well as the C-pen and will promptly be selling the Wizcom pen. The biggest downfall is it is just way too slow to be practical. Every line of text you scan you have to wait 10-15 seconds for the pen to "think" and record before proceeding to the next line of text. The concept of having a dictionary and read text is nice but if it doesn't have the "brain power" to do it in a timely manner why have it? The C-pen plugs straight into the computer (which isn't as handy but is MUCH faster).

I found it to be quite slow on the responses as it scrolls. Quite a few errors 60%+ error margin. Not good at all. However, if you take your time you'll eventually get it right. They need to build a model with a lighted screen, and with bluetooth capability. It's okay!

I've bought and tried several cases for the iPad 2. Now my search is done and I have a favorite. The Melkco Slimme Matte LC cases are superb. I prefer this to the other cases I bought (Vaja Libretto, Maroo Kumara II, STM Stehen, Rivet Folio, and Toblino 2).

What I like

1) Very slim. The case really maintains the slim profile of the iPad 2. It feels like you are reading a magazine as opposed to a book. It is substantially slimmer than the Maroo case and the Vaja Libretto.

2) Very light. My briefcase feels a lot lighter. This is the second lightest of the cases I tried.

3) High quality leather. The matte black LC leather looks and feels excellent. It has a nice grain, contrast stitching, and a soft feel. Not as good as the Vaja leather, but definitely much better than 95% of other leather cases. Also I tried the Melkco Vintage leather cases, and found the smooth glossy finish of the vintage leather to look and feel cheap compared with the matte leather cases so I recommend these. You can see if you compare my photos with the original poster.

4) Stable in stand position. Unlike the Apple smartcover, this one is pretty stable in the stand position. I have no worries about using it on a plane in turbulence. I was originally concerned about this, but they have got the angle right. It is very stable.

5) Good seller on Amazon. I returned the vintage blue leather case and got the matte black case, and the seller was very supportive and helpful. They also have a fair return policy as far as I can tell.

What could be better:

1) Interior lining is not as good as the Vaja or Maroo linings. The lining is a little short of what I would expect on a $100 case. The lining is soft and more plush than the cheap felt linings on most $40 cases, but it is not suede like. I also don't like the orange color.

2) More color choices on Amazon. I really wanted the matte dark blue leather but he doesn't stock it.

3) Occasional magnet issue. If the cover is folded back and wiggled around it can switch off the screen. This is not an issue if you fold it back and hold it firm, only if you move the cover around. Vaja has the same issue. I find it tolerable.

Introduction

This is my review on the Asus MyPal A626 Pocket PC PDA. It is a pure PDA, not a phone, though does have WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities.

The basic specs are as follows:

-Intel/Marvell XScale PXA270 312Mhz

-256MB Flash

-Windows Mobile Edition 6 with mobile office

-3.5" 320x240 16k color touch screen

-802.11g and bluetooth

-3.7V 1200mAh L-ion Battery

-3.5mm headphone jack, SDIO slot, speaker, microphone, Ir

Build and first impression

First off, the build quality appears and feels quite good. The front Is a brushed steel or chrome with shiny chrome on the edges. The backside of the PDA is a soft gray plastic. The buttons are solid and have a nice feel, but the 4 task buttons are positioned to high to really make good controls if you plan on using emulators or some games on it. Also, the PDA is designed to be held either portrait or landscape, but assume I am holding it portrait when I am referring to it.

The top of the PDA has the centered power button and and offset SD slot. The right side has the 3.5mm headphone jack, hold slider, and stylus. The left side has the USB port. The bottom side has the Ir and reset button. The microphone is above the screen on the front, and the speaker and indicator lights are below the buttons.

Everything is well placed and convenient. My only complaint here is the bright LED indicator lights being right under the buttons, as they are bright and blink instead of staying on steady. I would have preferred them be on top or something less intrusive to the eye.

Basic Usage

Well, coming originally from Pocket PC 2002, I was interested in seeing what was added/changed in Windows Mobile Edition 6. (WME6)

For one thing, it's more Vista like in it's loading bars and in it's resource management. On initial boot, it is already using half of the available RAM, leaving only about 34MB for your programs to run in. Conversely, my PPC2002 device had 64MB, and the left about 42-48MB for program storage and usage. Also, with this device, Windows and your programs are actually stored in the built in flash, Although it has 256MB (probably 248MB or so once converted), only 174MB is available to the user. However, it does come with a lot more, which justifies the OS becoming much larger.

My PCC2002 was a light version to save on memory, so word didn't even have spell check. Well that is there now, excel now does graphics, and there is a power point viewer. Additionally, there are built in drivers and settings for WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. They have also added Transcriber, a new way to write, which I'll give more detail on later.

Other notable new features for people comming from older PPCs are the CPU management, which is adjustable, portrait and landscape rotation, and quick tasks in the bottom right of the "Today" screen. The device is pretty responsive under default settings, but if you put the CPU to "Maximum", it is very responsive, though you sacrifice battery life. I keep it on "auto" most of the time, which is sufficient for most tasks.

The device is comfortable to hold, thought the telescoping stylus is overly light and short, primarily because it comes out of the short side of the device. However, the stylus and screen work well together and are pretty accurate and easy to use. The screen requires just the right amount of effort IMHO.

Audio

Many people like the idea of the iPhone because it is a phone, PDA, and Music player all in one. However, a PPC device can play audio as well, and some do quite a good job of it. The sound of the ASUS through it's headphone jack is just above average. If anything, it's a little flat at it's default settings, so I go to the audio settings, where you get a bass and treble slider, each from -2 to +2, starting at 0. I found +2 for treble and +1 for bass works well for my music and headphones, but I'm sure this varies between headphones used. It also has a 3D setting for sound, which is a slider with about 18 stops, with 0 as the default. I liked it on about 5. With these settings on my headphones, most of my music sounded quite good, with good detail and minimal distortion. However, on songs with heavy deep bass, it didn't distort or quiet, but it could be a little sloppy with some of those notes. Nothing major. Volume levels will go high enough for most, and unless you have the bass on +2 and max the volume with some heavy bass music, you won't get distortion. I used the included Windows Mobile 10 for music, as well as TCPMP for music and AV.

Overall, sound quality is on a similar level to an iPod, but there are some portable music devices out there with better sound. Definitely usable!

Video Playback

With TCPMP, this device is excellent at playing AV. I actually found a patch for TCPMP that allows the device to play flash videos, so I can get on youtube or a similar service and watch the videos full screen on my PDA. They are as smooth as a regular PC is with the high compression video. I have also done a quick test with Divx files on an SD card, but it was a lower bit rate one, which played fine. I have yet to try a higher bitrate Divx video yet, but I don't think it will have trouble. I update this once I give that a go.

The screen is a pleasure to watch video on. While it won't be that bright in direct sunlight, the backlight is even and color seems fairly accurate an pleasing. I give this device props over video iPods because of it's larger screen and ability to play more formats, though will have less space unless you stock up on SD cards.

Battey Life

This is actually a strong point of this PDA. Even with it's modest 1200mAh battery, it's usage life is about 4-24 hours. If you set your playist up, and just let it play at moderate volume with the device on hold so the screen is off, you should easily get over 20 hours. Playing a high bit rate video with the backlight turned up should yield about 4-6 hours. Internet usage with the WiFi on isn't a whole lot better than palying video, but all things considering, I think this is excellent battery life. My HP iPaq 1910 only got 3-6 hours for all tasks, even in it's prime, and had difficulty playing anything but video tailored to it, and that was overclocked.

Software Issues

My only real complaint about this PDA is that Windows Mobile Edition 6, and reported 5 as well, have problems running older PPC software properly. The emulators made for ARM processors and PPC2000-2003 run significantly slower on this device thant hey did on my older, slower PPC2002 iPaq 1910. I am having a hard time finding newer emulators that were made for the newer OS, so I am kind of stuck for now. So if you have specific older software you want to run on it, try the software on a WME5 or 6 device first to see if it has any issues.

I was very happy to find the ASUS to come with an extra stylus and a simple soft case for the device. It also came with a USB cable, a wall charger, 3 CDs. and the booklets. The package was very good, and made me feel that ASUS really cares what their customer think.

[b]Conclusion and Who it's for[/b]

The ASUS MyPal A626 is an excellent PDA overall. It has no significant weaknesses, it comes well equipped for the price, and if you know what you are getting, you should be very happy with it.

So who is the Asus A626 for? It is for someone who wants a PDA that can do more than schedule, but you don't need it as a GPS or Cell Phone. The built in flash is ALOT of space for a PPC, as most programs are only 500KB to a few MB, so you can fill it up with programs, and still have the SD slot available. Personally, I don't want my PDA and phone to be the same device, because I don't want to have to not use my PDA so my phone doesn't die, or vice versa. I like having the two devices separately, though you can communicate the two with bluetooth. I would like to see the ability to bluetooth your contacts to your phone, too.

This device has a huge list of things it can do. Scheduling, Music, Video, Voice Recording, Notes, Typing, Games, Internet, and much more with appropriate software or addons. No, it's not also a cell phone, but it doesn't claim to be, so if you're not expecting it, it is a great device, all for about $300.

I lost my Palm TX and because I was having so many problems with it, I decided to search for a new, more reliable PDA. It was difficult to find because everything else with the same capability came with phone service. The new Asus was not given much attention by reviewers because it wasn't a phone. (Not everyone wants to rely on an all-in-one product). Fortunately I decided to take a chance on the Asus and it is the best PDA I have owned. I have had my ASUS for two months now. Battery life is great and I have never had to reset it--both constant problems with the TX). The screen is clear and easy to read. It comes with a very nice slip holder--not the cheap kind you get with other PDA's. It has a very nice solid feel to it and is easy to hold. The bundled software is Windows Mobile and I was able to adapt to the change from a Palm OS system. I have found that there is a wide choice of outside vendor programs to download on Handango.com. Enough to meet my needs. (Reviewers of PDA's often promote the Palm because it has more software available) If you want a great PDA without a phone get the ASUS. You won't regret it.

I spent a great deal of time checking out all PDAs that came with wireless connections. I checked out HP, Dell and Palm and was leaning toward the Palm TX till I came across the ASUS MyPal A626. What caught my eye was the Wireless 802.11b/g connection. The other devices only came with Wireless 802.11b which is approximately five times slower that 802.11g.

This device says it comes with 64MB RAM, 128MB ROM and Microsoft Windows 5.0, but it actually comes as an upgrade (it says so on the box) and has 128MB, 256MB ROM and Windows Mobile 6.0. It also comes with a mini USB cable for syncing, an AC adapter for recharging, and an extra stylus (very nice, it is resizable) and three CDs that include extra software and Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5.

The installed software includes Office Mobile with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Media Player, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Windows Live, Messenger and many others. The programs all run well and fast.

I tried the Wireless 802.11g connection at my local library. I simply clicked on the small icon on the Today screen and selected Enable WiFi. The device quickly connected to the library's WiFi network and I launched IE and was online. The browser loads pages the same as on a desktop/laptop. The speed was suprisingly good. Faster than dialup--comparable to a slow DSL connection (as opposed to the faster 768k DSL). I would recommend downloading the Opera Mobile browser from Opera's website as it includes multiple tabbed browsing which IE does not.

Only two minor drawbacks to this whole package. First, the case it comes with is ok, but hardly strong enough to protect the screen very well. So be careful with it. I would suggest buying a solid metal case to carry your MyPal around in. Second, ActiveSync 4.5 would not install on my computer from the CD. Big problem since you need it to transfer files. The CD kept saying I needed to install Flash 8.0 or later--but it was installed and both my browsers (IE and Mozilla Firefox) were running Flash fine. What to do? Just go to Microsoft's website, type Mobile in the search box and then download ActiveSync 4.5 from their site. It will install easily without using Flash.

This is a great device. The best on the market and the only one with Wireless 802.11 g. I highly recommend it.

Cons:

does not reconnect the SD card after resuming from standby. You cannot really use it like an MP3 player keeping your music on the card. Every time you power it on/resume you have to remove and reinsert the card to reconnect it.

very annoying and distracting bright LED blinking under the ASUS logo (under the mask) when connected to wi-fi (which is all the time, for me).

As most electronics these days, a product rushed to market without proper usability testing.

Follow up:

Installed the firmware update from the Asus site, SD card issue solved.

I also had an issue with some full screen applications not displaying properly. Installed the (older) LCD display update patch and this issue was solved also.

They could have included this older display patch in the newer firmware patch.

Also, they could have notified me of these updates, as I had registered the product. What is the point of registering then?

Since starting to use bluetooth, I notice the similarly annoying blue blinking LED.

There is also an issue with reconnecting my bluetooth device after resuming from sleep.

I feel I should up my rating to 3.5 stars.

I use a canon T1i for timelapse and video, and really push rapid shooting. I have used it on a mountain in snow and moonlight at 14 degrees, and only once encountered a small buffer window on a long video take at 1080p. It works great, I have never had problems with Sandisk cards, they help me make a living at shooting. I also use Ultra II cards, and only notice the smallest of time difference writing to the card in camera. Loading to the computer data from the card does take longer then the ultra, but unless you need to dump data fast this one is fine and cost less. I would go for storage size over file transfer to computer speeds anytime.

This is only a class two card. As such it performs exactly as expected.

I'm not using this for anything incredibly speed sensitive. I ripped my daughters DVDs to MPEG4 files, scaled them down to PSP size standards, took them down to 96 KBps audio, put over 50 of them on this card along with some shorts and included music videos. Now my daughters cheaper than a portable DVD player without the risk of scratching or inconvenience carrying disk netbook with only a 4GB SSD is good to go. When we make a long road trip she's got plenty of movies, which is exactly what this was bought for.

If you're expecting to record live HD video don't even consider this card. It works reliably at the speeds it's expected to work out, the published class 2 speeds.

I bought this to use with the excellent LapseIt timelapse video application (no affiliation). Not sure where they're getting the "Dobi Design" or "for HTC Thunderbolt" part; this is a FotoPro brand, pretty-much-universal smartphone tripod. The attachment mechanism is a padded clamp and would work well for holding any phone the size of the Thunderbolt or smaller. The Thunderbolt is probably the upper limit for width though. The tripod is solidly built, out of metal on the legs and hinges and strong plastic on the clamp. The only annoyance is that the center of gravity of the phone is held out over the two legs in the front, making it less stable than it could be.

I don't know if it is just my lack of talent, but I found this really hard to put on. In fact, I gave up trying to get it on...it never looked right. I won't be buying another skin for my phone...I will stick with cases from now on. And I think this is not worth the price!

The extender does the job but it's poorly designed. It's too small to properly accommodate rechargeable batteries; you have to squeeze them in and press the lid so they don't burst out. The lid locking mechanism seems to be very delicate and all that pushing could easily break it. The connector requires some pushing/tugging to attach/remove it from the PDA.

I demoed this keyboard at a local store (sorry Amazon, there are still some things we can't do here) and came away unimpressed.

The keyboard has a nifty design. It unfolds into shape in a different way than the Targus and also provides a much sturdier backrest for your PDA than does the Targus. There is also no need for an adapter (which can be easily lost) for the 3800 and 3900 series, unlike the Targus.

However, this is where the good points end. For some unknown reason, Compaq decided to shrink the keys on this unit so that they are significantly smaller (length and width) than the Targus keyboard. If you are a touch-typer, forget it. Hunt and peck typists will still do okay, but there will be some typos in your future too. Why Compaq did this is beyond me. The overall size of the unit is not so large that they couldn't have made it a bit larger and stuck full size keys in there.

Since this unit and the Targus are pretty close in price, I advise you to take a pass on this if you can get the Targus. If small keys don't bother you too much and you own a 3800 or 3900 iPaq, this is a worthwhile investment.

I have just purchased this keyboard, and it has opened a whole lot of other possibilities for my IPaq. If you are planning on writing more than a simple sentence on your PDA, this is a must.

The keyboard is a little smaller than regular size, and it does take a little bit to get use to. Also, because of its portability, some keys are in odd places, such as the Shift being only on your left side of the keyboard. But those are the only setbacks I have found, which I don't really mind, since you make up a whole lot of ground with its portability. It is extremely easy to install, and there are no adapters of any kind. Granted, this is the only keyboard I have purchased so far, but I wasn't too enamored with the looks on the Stowaway from Targus. Whether the keyboard is closed, or open, its physical features are equally appealing. The keyboard comes with shortcuts for each of your mayor programs, but you can also configure your own.

Overall, it's a worthwhile investment, although the price is a little higher than its competition. I'm truly pleased with its features, portability and its appearance.

I've been very satisfied with this keyboard, although I almost didn't get it after reading the reviews. Thankfully, I got it anyway! I'm a touch-typist with large hands, and I've been able to use it without having to look down very often. My fingers are able to get around to the keys well, but as another reviewer mentioned, some keys are in different places, like a notebook computer.

The unit folds down very compactly, which makes it easy to slip into a pocket or just tote along with the iPAQ.

My co-workers who also have iPAQs are very jealous of my keyboard, especially when I type in business cards or take notes in meetings. Highly recommended!

The leather wears quickly and gets to the point where the support stick won't hold your Kindle up.

I returned this item and got a slimmer, more durable one that isn't made of leather.

This iGadgitz Guardian case really is the perfect complement to my Acer Iconia Tab A100. The fit is superb and every hole, crevice, notch and groove has a distinct purpose that makes my Acer a better tablet.

The screen cut out fits neatly around the front of the unit. It has an opening for the front-facing camera and an indentation for the home button. The leather does not cover a single millimeter of the screen so I am free to tap any place on the screen without being hindered by this leather case.

The backside of the case has an exact cutouts for the back camera and the flash nest to it. The back also has a stand for horizontal viewing. Simply place it in the groove with the other flap folded down on a flat surface and you have a sturdy horizontal viewing scenario.

The top of the case has cutouts for the power button and the speaker jack, while the bottom of the case has cutouts for 2 speakers, the micro HDMI port, the USB port and the power adapter.

This is nice leather, it is soft and smooth and cushiony and smells like real leather. The leather is also cushioned, so I really know I'm holding on to the case and that it will be protected, to a certain degree, if I drop my tablet.

All these features really make this the perfect case for the Acer Iconia Tab A100.

I think this is a solid stylus. When I got it the size was a good size, the length was long enough for my big hands, and it looked really good. The only problem that I have was that the top that goes over the pen was not designed to cover the stylus. In other words, once you take the top off you have to keep up with it so that you don't lose it. Other than that, I would recommend the stylus to others. And by the way, the pen does write really well.

The item was not what I thought it would be. The ballpoint was not easy to access. The cap had to be unscrewed all the way before you could use the pen. This is why it is not 5 stars.

On the other hand the stylus was very easy to use with very little pressure on the screen of my Galaxy S2 and S3. The stylus is what brought it up to 4 stars

The stylus pen combo are great. The USPS took 21 days to deliver it. Not the companies fault I know.

I would have forgotten about it except I received an email to rate the product.I replied I never received them and they responded the next day. 4 days later they showed up.

They work fine , they are almost retail price though.

I will buy them again.

I absoulutely love these pens/stylus! The write great and I can text like crazy now! I wish I had bought 10 more, I like to keep them in my car, on my night stand, in my pockets, on my desk. Quality product.

The stylus works fine. I do not like that I have to remove the cap and have no place to put it (doesn't fit over the stylus end) while I write. I will probably lose it sooner rather than later. Pen is a little slippery and thin for me for writing purposes, fine as a stylus. I thought it was a twist-to-write pen for some reason. A pretty good value though, and useable.
