This is a really good laptop for the price. When I first buy this i thought it would be too big, cause it's 17.3. But I was wrong It's Perfect! And it's not heavy.

It also heave a really good ventilation system, Keeps it really cool.

Beside that I can play almost every game in Market with good settings. I can play Dota 2 everything on maximum with 0 lag, it did not tested other games yet tough.

But, for 700 bucks it's a really good deal! RECOMEND.

im able to play borderlands 2 at 720p everything maxed out at 40-60 fps, i havent tested BF3 yet but i figured it shouldnt have any problems, in conclusion the 640m is a very capable gpu backed up by an incredible ivy i5 processor

the build quality seems quite solid, usb 3.0 ports are pretty much appreciated..

on another hand the screen doesnt have a good view angle so it could be a pain if you dont watch it right in front

bottom line, very good laptop for the price, if you dont need a huge gaming laptop but still want to play some decent games get this one!

While I did have 1-day shipping, the laptop came well packaged and in perfect condition. I first opened the box to see a VERY large and shiny new laptop and began to mess with it. Turned it on, typed in my preferences, and got going in about 5 minutes. There was not a whole lot of bloatware; it was gone fairly quickly. Over the next few hours, I learned about all of the wonderful features that I did not pay attention to when I bought it.

Pros:

*Large screen; 1600x900 resolution

*Bright colors

*Great Processor, Nice RAM, good Graphics card

*plays all of my games on highest graphics with no problems (LoL, GW2, D3, minecraft)

*Runs quiet

*Dolby Home Theater; the sound bar sounds almost like surround sound. The sound is simply amazing.

Cons:

*Kind of slow Hard drive; this is okay because there is support to put in an SSD (only costs around $100)

*Being a gaming Laptop, you are going to have a low battery life and there is really nothing you can do about this no matter which gaming laptop you get, even being low end as this one is. However, this is okay because you will have it plugged in all of the time anyway since the laptop can run in high performance when it is plugged in.

*Being a glossy type screen, the colors are brighter, but it is very glary outside. This is also not a big deal because you will need it plugged in most of the time anyway.

Final Thoughts:

I love to play games, but I needed a laptop over a desktop and I needed it to be cheap. $700 for a low end gaming laptop is an amazing price (This would be a good price for even a desktop). Other laptops with the same stats should go for $900-$1000, but Acer is a great company with an amazingly low price. With all of the extra features, this is, BY FAR, the best laptop you could possibly buy for only $700. I would suggest this to anyone looking for a gaming laptop on a budget.

So I come home today and my power jack is cracked and it got pushed in, completely trashed; I have to find a way to fix it myself. I call acer and ask them if it's covered in the warranty and they told me that it would cost $199 to fix a power jack that is pushed back. I'm not going to buy anything from this company again, I am genuinely disappointed in Acer for this. The laptop is made of cheap plastic and it's only a matter of time before everyone has the same complaints as me. Don't buy this laptop.

Just as the title implies. I bought this laptop about 2 weeks after black Friday for $600 along with a copy of Far Cry 3. The game runs excellent. I run it on "medium" settings flawlessly and it still looks really good. The game automatically put my settings on medium but I wanted to see how it played on higher settings. I tried playing on both high and ultra settings which surprisingly worked pretty well. The FPS was pretty playable even on ultra however the computer would run a little hot so I keep it on a very playable tweaked medium setting (tweaked as in I set a few of the settings to high). Still looks/plays great. If your into games a little older like Skyrim, you will be pleased to know this computer can handle Skyrim pretty well on high settings. I haven't played Skyrim to much on this laptop so I don't know if having a large battle raging around you may slow it down or not but I'm sure if it does you can tweak the options a bit to make it run great again.

So overall I am very pleased with how this computer runs games. Its got a great i5 3rd generation processor, decent webcam, a little heavy but that's to be expected of a 17 incher. The battery isn't all that great, but I'm sure most people will keep this guy plugged in, especially considering how large this computer is. The touchpad is just ok, a little wonky. But just as with the battery, I am sure most people will use a USB mouse so it is a non-issue. Windows 8 is meh. Its not bad but I prefer windows 7. Desktop mode does a decent job of simulating windows of olde but adding a mod to include a start button may be needed for those of us who were perfectly fine with windows 7 or even XP. (I still try to forget about Vista) However this is software, not hardware so it doesn't really change my rating, besides W8 is completely workable, just a little ugly, for me anyway. Also, if I were a little less impressed by the guts of this computer I would have knocked a star for the purely aesthetic problem of a super finger-print friendly paint job. Seriously. Finger prints LOVE this big guy. Otherwise for the price (and I did a LOT of browsing and comparing) this is an excellent computer for budget minded gamers.

This laptop was a steal considering i bought it for only $650. Looked every to find this latop for a lower price but it could not be achieved. Newegg had it for $750 and acer had it for $ 720. It play modern games with no problems. At first i hated windows 8 but i know love it. It just takes time to get use to.

About a year ago, I purchased a Nikon Coolpix 950 digital camera. The "wimpy" 8 MB CompactFlash card that came with the unit would only hold one (1) uncompressed, high-resolution picture I needed more. I read on the Nikon technical support web page that SanDisk is the OEM for Nikon's CompactFlash cards, so I felt pretty safe selecting this card. The card formatted in the camera perfectly and has simply worked for the past nine months. I bought this about 10 hours before leaving for Disney World. I use it in a Nikon Coolpix 700 (2.1 mp) set at the basic mode (1600 x 1200, apx 240k per pic with full compression). I took 471 pictures and had room for over 100 more. Download of 108 meg with a USB card reader took about 5 minutes. A side effect I had not counted on was that write times increased as the card got full. With a 16MB card I never noticed this but toward the end of 128MB the delay was very noticeable. "Boot time" (pause after turning on the camera) was increased too. Again, something that was never an issue with a smaller card. A good reason to hang on to your older, smaller ram cards for things like sporting events frames per second are important. If picture quality is essential to your work, the size fo the card makes full TIFF images (8 meg per) a viable option. Memory may not be cheaper for a long time. I paid the same for this card that I paid for a 16MB card 2 years ago. Highly recomended.

I was on a trip to Europe this summer. Although I already had two 64 MB SanDisk CompactFlash cards, I bought the 128 MB when I upgraded to the Canon G1. Like the design, but couldn't get it applied straight--it covered my microphone and light sensors. In order to recover full functionality of my phone, I had to cut/remove most of the decal pieces on the front.

This is a well made product, the weight is very reasonable to be writing on the tablet with and has worked very well to be able to take notes in class. My only complaint is that sometimes you have to push down harder than I would think is nessicary for the touch screen, and then at other times the touch is very soft and it is fine. Of course this could be a combination of the tablet and something else.

Overall a good prouduct that does what it is supposed to do.

Edit 9/28: I am sad to say I have had to take this review down a star. I love this pen for what it is, but over the past few days it has worn down. This is not overly noticable by looking at the product, but when writing notes the pen sticks more to the screen and I must tilt the pen away from the tip to write as smoothly as I once could. Use a very light touch. I have not noticed any wear. It keeps smudges off screen. I wish there was a way to attach it to my Tablet. I keep it in the case and use it most of the time.

As my title says, with a touch screen, you should be able to get away with using your fingers. Why need a stylus?

A few points it's hard to see from the picture, but it's got kind of a rubbery, squishy end to the pointer. So, I have yet to get a regular stylus (like you might see with a Nintendo DS) to work on the device. But this pen has a nice heft to it, and it's really handy to use. One of the biggest complaints about the Thrive is that it's a fingerprint magnet, which is 100% true.

Having said that GET the screen protector. I hate screen protectors, but on this tablet they're going to perform two functions obviously prevent scratches, but they also cut down on fingerprints. So does using this pen. The screen is gorgeous, but you'll appreciate not having to wipe it down all the time.

Every touchscreen, be it on a gps, phone, or tablet, of mine suffers from the oils in my system and always has fingerprints. However, since I got this "pen" they suffer much less. This case has over 1/2 inch of extra room top and and bottom which Nexus 7 slide all over the place. There is no way to adjust or fix this. It seems like this might be a good case for a Nook 7" but it is not a good choice for the Nexus 7 which is what it is advertised for. I feel hoodwinked into buying Nook accessory overstock.

The magnetic on/off mostly works, though not always. Seems as though it will do the job of protecting the tablet to some degree. Fold-back stand works well.

Again, this would be a decent cover for another product, just not the Google/Asus Nexus 7.

I bought this for the low price. Too good to be true? It probably is.

This thing has a 30 pin Apple connector molded directly into the case in such a way that it cannot securely connect with any iPad other than the iPad 1. The cases on the iPad models 2 and 3 curve back and don't allow the connector to actually hook up. When I did manage to get it connected by using a Apple 30 pin extension cable (not included) the iPad 3 (running iOS6) I was working with put out a message saying "this device is not supported".

The vendor claims this is compatible with all iPads, but based on my experience I'm thinking that's a crock.

Basically, this thing is pretty much useless.

Just bought this camera connection kit and it works great on my new iPad. Not sure why others are unable to make it work. There is a switch on it to select either USB or SD card mode. From the pictures I've seen I don't think the old ones had that switch. Maybe that's the problem? I don't know but I'm happy.

Most negative reviews of screen protectors mention issues with bubbles, trapped dust, misalignment, etc. 99% of it is user error. Some people have even stupidly installed the protective film that is meant to protect the actual screen protector in the package. If the screen protector isn't installed correctly, it will look bad. This applies to all of them, and the majority of the screen protectors on the market are equally difficult (or easy) to install. When reading reviews of any screen protector, look for those that discuss the following:

Fit -how well is the screen protector customized for your device? Some of them are designed to have small border of "unprotected" space around the screen. Some include a cut-out circle to be applied on top of the home button. Others may not have a cutout for the front face-time camera. And some of them are just plain misaligned (but be wary of lone reviewers who say this. It's often a result of improper installation)

Clarity -Speaking in terms of just the clear screen protectors (i.e. no special features like anti-glare, privacy, mirror, smudge-proof, etc), it's important to take note of multiple reviews that talk about distortion of the display. This is most important on a retina screen. You're already going to be sacrificing at least SOME clarity when you put a screen protector on your iDevice's retina display, but there are some "clear" screen protectors out there that produce more distortion than necessary. Some of them have issues with the "orange peel" effect, where the screen, while clear, has the look of a textured surface (like an orange) that distorts the view. Other screen protectors have issues with reflecting an absorbing light, creating a rainbow effect when held at certain angles. Keep in mind, though, that it's usually only noticeable in certain harsh lighting environments, so take note of reviews that mention rainbow distortion in multiple lighting conditions.

Feel -How does your hand (and stylus if you use one) glide across the screen? No screen protector will feel just like your ipad's bare screen, but it shouldn't add too much extra resistance. I've seen screen protectors in the past that made those rubber capacitive styli squeak across the screen. HOWEVER, take note of the following: Most, if not all, screen protectors are packaged with thin plastic films that protect the front and back (adhesive side) of the screen protector itself. After installation, when you peel off the front film, a lot of them will leave behind a little bit of sticky residue. This residue will make the screen protector have a lot of friction, and it can even make the rainbow effect look more intense. But, this residue can be removed relatively easily with eyeglass cleaning solution and a small amount of force with a microfiber cloth. It might take a few "sessions" to fully clean it. I mention this fact because a lot of negative reviews are written in the heat of the moment, in anger. Oftentimes the reviewer took the screen protector off his device after only a couple of hours. As odd as it sounds, screen protectors seem to need some "settling time" before they can be truly evaluated.

Scratch Resistance -The point of a screen protector is to protect your device's bare screen from abrasions, but it's an exercise in futility to use a screen protector that scratches so easily under normal use that you have to replace it every month just to see your screen again. A plastic screen protector will scratch, but some more easily than others. Personally, I use a screen protector because I'm not always a delicate little angel with my electronics. I also like to be able to do a quick spray and wipe down without worrying about rubbing particles of dust, dirt, crumbs, etc. into the iPad's not-as-scratch-resistant oleophobic coating. I need a screen protector that can withstand that abuse over a reasonable amount of time. Most of them will.

Touch Response -most screen protectors are going to reduce the screen's sensitivity to a capacitive stylus. The screen responds to your touch, and a stylus relies on your body contacting the stylus's conductive material making contact with the screen. Add to that another layer between your touch and the digitizer on your ipad, it's inevitable. How much it affects your stylus depends a lot of the quality of the stylus (the amount and quality of conductive surface on the stylus itself), as well as the thickness of the screen protector. Under no circumstances, however, should you ever put up with a screen protector that causes a noticeable reduction in responsiveness to your touch. Most of them are fine in that regard.

Having said all that, I'll preface my review with one more thing: I have a lot of experience installing screen protectors. I've installed them for friends, family, clients, and myself. With most of these screen protectors, there's one simple fact: The product package does not include everything you need to do a proper, successful installation. Save yourself some headache and go to Youtube to find proper instructional videos.

But the issue with this screen protector is that it's prone to scratches on an almost comical level. No other screen protector I've encountered, including the cheap $2 ones that don't even come in a branded package, are this prone to scratches. It looked like a 1-year-old first-gen ipod nano after about 2 days of normal use. If you don't get the reference, let's just say it was pretty scuffed up.

The short and sweet of it is this: This writeright screen protector installs and looks just like the other static-clings on the market, but it is fragile to the point that it should be recalled.

And I realize my review of the actual product was shorter than my intro. I just felt the need to add some credibility to my comments.

I bought the Fellowes WriteRight screen protector kit for my iPad.

The kit comes with 2 screen protectors, a small cleaning cloth, and a cardboard squeegie, in a flat, letter sized cardboard envelope. Each screen protector has a thin protective sheet that easily pulls off (just before applying the thicker, stiffer, flat (not glossy) sheet to the iPad).

The cleaning cloth is just OK; if you don't have something better, it will work. The squeegie, although made of a small piece of cardboard was effective. Everything I needed was there, and it took only a few minutes from the time I opened the package until the protector was applied to my iPad. It clings to the iPad. No water is necessary. It can be lifted and repositioned very easily. It took me a few tries before I got it right.

I was very careful to make sure that the iPad and the area where I was working was as dust free as possible before taking the protective sheet off of the screen protector and applying it to the iPad. Still, a few, tiny dust particles managed to get in there somehow, of course. Nevertheless, they were so minute that it was hardly noticeable, and not at all noticeable after turning on the iPad.

Using the iPad after the screen protector was applied: The clarity seems to be the same as before, maybe a little better because of less glare; my fingers run across the screen with more ease; fingerprints are less noticeable; and glare and background reflections are lessened.

UPDATE: Since I have been using my iPad daily, I have noticed that the tiny air bubbles have been diminishing. When I gently rub them, they eventually disappear. Their were only about 3 of them, but they are all gone now, after just a few days. Maybe the protector has some level of porosity, which allows the air to escape over time. Anyway, I just wanted to write this update in case anyone was concerned about air bubbles. I don't know if large air bubbles would disappear. My bubbles were tiny because I was so careful when applying the protector.

This is my first sreen protector for my ipad. I can't avoid bubbles caused by dust. The second thing I feel a little disappointed is the squeegee card which is useless for me. It didn't remove the bubbles at all, yet, it created some scratches that I had never expected for.

I hope that the bubbles will disappear after few days like someone said.

I was unsure about whether or not to buy this product because of all the negative reviews. I went ahead and got it, however, and feel compelled to clarify that there is absolutely nothing at all wrong with this product besides the fact that people either can't put it on correctly or don't understand what a screen protector is in the first place.

If you want a screen protector and want to save money, buy this. The price is not only reasonable, but it comes with 2. A lot of the complaints on here have to do with dust and bubbles both of which occur when you use any screen protector ever made. The trick is to either a) be more careful when applying it or b) find someone who's good at it and ask them to do it for you. It is not at all a fault of the screen protector itself, which is after all a giant sticky sheet.

I also saw a lot of complaints about fingerprints and distortion of the screen. I have no idea how a clear plastic sheet could "distort" the display, but I, at least, notice no difference. It is clear, after all. Also, fingerprints occurred with and without the screen protector... I see no noticeable difference. Maybe it's just me, but I was already aware that a screen protector WASN'T a super thin force field which is immune to fingerprints and obliterates all dust.

In short, if you don't want to spend a ton of money on a screen protector, this is a great deal.

This case was perfect for me as there are other similar ones on Amazon (Blurex, Poetic, Moko, Exotek). Some with a strap and stylus, and others that are essentially the same (w/o strap and stylus). I didn't need a strap so this one fit the bill. The other case I have been using (Poetic Slimline) for four months was starting to show wear, so I figure I try this kind with the hook/grabbers on the edges. I myself have the HP iPaq 1910, which I'm very happy with. I recently bought a V35 for my cousin's birthday, and also got a chance to play with it extensively. So my comments are more of a comparison with the 1910.

The V35 is about the same thickness as the 1910, but slight longer and wider. While specs say that it's also slightly heavier than the 1910, you can't really tell the difference, since both are very lightweight. Because the 1910 has more of a metallic feel while the V35 feels more plasticky (which is not to say the latter feels cheap!), there's an illusion that the V35 is actually lighter than the 1910. The bottomline is, the V35 feels very good in the hand, and its non-shiny, non-slippery surface makes it much easier to hold than the 1910.

Both the V35 and 1910 have 3.5" diagonal transflexive screens, and both are bright and beautiful. I think the 1910's screen sports richer colors, whereas the V35's is very slightly washed out, but still much better than the display on my old Audiovox Maestro (made by Toshiba). Like the 1910, the V35's touch screen is very responsive, and the backlighting is perfectly even.

While both models accommodate SD memory cards, the V35 has the added advantage of being SDIO compatible, although, admittedly, there aren't many (or any) SDIO devices here in the States right now. Part of V35's system memory is accessible as "flash storage," but the 1910 still has a bit more useable memory onboard.

My most positive impression of the V35 is it's well built and feels good in the hand, vs. 1910's slippery, easy-to-break feel. The battery life is also longer than the 1910; my estimate is 3.5 hours on average (playing MP3 files from a Lexar 256MB SD card with screen turned off) vs. 2-2.5 hours for the 1910. The V35 also comes with a docking cradle and a slip case, both of which are missing in the 1910 kit.

On the downside the V35's battery is not user-replaceable. (The 1910's is, and it has a back-up battery to conserve data in case of a completely dead main battery.) Given that the typical LiIon battery has a recycle life of about 500 times, if you charge the V35 once a day, the battery will die out in about 18 months. Of course, in reality the battery probably won't completely die by then, but its capacity/useable time will definitely be shortened considerably. (Just ask any Palm V user who bought the Palm more than 2 years ago.)

If I had to pick my Pocket PC again, I'd have a very hard time deciding between the iPaq 1910 and the V35. If you don't have to have the smallest and sleekist Pocket PC, I highly recommend the V35 for its longer battery life, included cradle and case, and SDIO-capable expansion.

In the end, though, you may just grab whatever is cheaper. :)

I could go on and on about what the Viewsonic V35 does, but I feel it is more important that I compare it to other pocket PC's in it's price range. I did a lot of research before I bought my Viewsonic V35, and I ended up basically up between the Dell Axim X5 300Mhz. The Dell turned out to be slightly cheaper, but it did not come with a cradle nor did it come with a leather case. You would eventually have to get at least the leather case, or your screen won't look too good after a while. After buying all the stuff for the Dell that would come with the Viewsonic, the Dell would be more expensive. Basically, I only considered models with a transflective screen since anything else looks foggy and milky. So that left me with the Dell Axim X5, the HP 1910, and one of those overpriced toshiba's. When I looked at the HP 1910, it had a slightly better looking screen than the viewsonic, but the viewsonic was a close second. I got to play with the Dell at one of their kiosks and their screen was okay, but not as good as the Viewsonic's. I read the reviews for the HP 1910 (really a compaq) and many customers complained about stability problems and the unit turning on by itself and draining it's own batteries. This unreliability is consistent with compaq products. So I immediately ruled out the 1910.

Since all of these pda's are running windows, there isn't too much difference except in stability and portabilty. The Dell Axim is by far the bulkiest pda I have ever seen which is another reason I ruled that out. Even with free shipping I received the V35 in only a mere 3 days. I was impressed with it's size and stability, as expected. I have not had problems with the V35 so far and I've had it for over a month. If I played MP3's continuously, it lasts just over 3 hours, which doesn't sound too good, but keep in mind this is better than most other PDA's. In all other activities, such as writing notes and scheduling things on my calendar, a whole day of this didn't come close to running low on battery, so I assume games and music eat up a lot of your battery, otherwise it is great. The directional pad is great for games (not so on the Dell), and there is a plethora of games available for free on the web. I use my pocket PC both at work and at school and the pocket pc always comes in handy. I have used Palm OS 5 for a few years and can tell you that it looks EXACTLY THE SAME as it always has. Palm hasn't bothered to be innovative at all and has rehashed the same nonfunctional operating system 6 times. To be honest, Palm OS hasn't changed much in the past 4 years and is not as flexible as a pocket PC. I couldn't find a reason to stick with Palm anymore. I had no problems synching the V35 to my PC, it was fast and took about a minute. Overall, the V35 is a reliable, cost effective, and has a beautiful screen. Viewsonic has had a good reputation for its other products, and so far lives up to it's name.

I bought the iPaq H1910 before I had this unit. The 1910 had a great screen but I just didn't like the feel of it for daily use and the buttons weren't very easy to push for navigating or gaming. Finally I just felt it wasn't the right one for me so I returned it for the Viewsonic V35. Boy did I make the right move! This unit is so much nicer to hold and use and the screen holds it's own against any other Pocket PC. The applications work great, battery lasts a long time and this thing is quick. It has no problems playing movie trailers, mp3's or anything else I throw at it. Plus it comes with a cradle (something the iPac h1910 did not)! Overall it's definetly the best Pocket PC for the money. Thumbs up to Viewsonic for an excellent product.

Summery If you are looking to enter the Pocket PC world, the ViewSonic V35 is the best low cost entry point.

It came down to the iPAQ 1910 and the ViewSonic V35 and I went with the ViewSonic. It had all the features I required and you can't bet the price. You will give up some RAM and a shorten battery life to the competition. But to me these where minor tradeoffs for great performance (larger processor), great screen, small size, light weight and it comes with a cradle (the iPAQ 1910 does not).

I had the device for over a week and my only complaint how the device fits into the cradle. It's a little shaky and not as good a fit as my old Palm VIIx. You just have to be extra carefully when docking.

There is not doubt in my mind that Pocket PC is the way to go. It is much more friendly than Palm and it has the interface and functionality that you are already familiar with your PC.

I switched from a Palm V. What a difference! No eyestrain anymore. The screen is bright, the colors help with reading calendars, contact information and e-mail. With an add-in 256 MB SD card there is plenty of storage for music and documents. It fits nicely into a shirt pocket, even with the semi-hard case, and is light enough not to notice. It has been running very stably and so far seems surprisingly sturdy. I suspect that the HP iPAQ Pocket PC h1910 is similar but the specs show a lot shorter battery life. The Toshiba e310/e335 is also similar but a bit larger and the screen did not look as bright. The Dell Axim X5 is heavier and larger but can accomodate a CF type II card in addition to an SD card. Regardless of your choice, I suggest getting one of several utilities that are available to keep track of memory and battery charge on the Today page.

I have had this cover about a month and it is a good cover. It is lightweight holds the nook color firmly, I don't feel that the nook would slip out at all. The magnet that hold the cover shut is a nice plus. The color is nice and the quality isn't bad. I don't think that it would take any abuse, but I could be wrong. Most of the ports are accessible minus the sd slot. Compared to my girlfriend's Barnes & Noble Dessin Cover in Pink, the Javoedge has about half the weight. If I was a betting man, I would say the Barnes & Noble case would hold up a lot better. I do like the cover and do not regret my purchase as I can flip the cover back and use it as an easel (horizontally) or hold it in one hand which is nice. Given its price and its weight, it is a great alternative to the bulky Barnes & Noble cases. I think something like the otterbox or trident cases will be my next purchase.

This case fits my Acer Iconia perfectly and provides a decent amount of protection for it. I previously had my tablet in a leather "easel" case, but I gave the tablet to my wife and she wanted something lighter. This suits her just fine. This is the case I've been waiting for--it's pretty similar to the very nice leather Kindle cases. I also have tried the Navitech flip case (fits beautifully but the easel feature doesn't work and the cover flaps awkwardly) and the Luxury graphite case (very solid feel, nice plush inside, but needs to be a few millimeters bigger in all directions). This one works the best:

--it's big enough to protect the Tab all around its edges and corners

--the easel feature works well in both landscape (bend the case at the back) and portrait (remove a velcro sleeve and reposition it) modes

--it's real leather and soft padding inside

--it fits around all the cameras, connections, etc.

--the magnetic catch holding the cover in place is very subtle but seems strong enough to work well.

I am not sure if the back of the case, where it has to fold to use the landscape easel, will hold up to folding and refolding multiple times a day, which is what it will probably get from me. But it seems pretty sturdy, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.

For now I think this is the case to get if you want real protection and a versatile easel function for your Tab 7.0 Plus. And the price is great--much less than the leather Kindle cases, which are very similar (the Kindle cases have a nicer leather smell, I have to admit).

If you own the older Galaxy Tab 7.0" tablets, this is NOT for you because ports and jacks will NOT be in the correct locations. BUT if you own the newer Galaxy Tab 7in tabs, this case will work just fine.

The construction of this case is very well done. It feels sturdy. I can rest assured that the back of the tab won't get damaged by scratches. Only down side is I don't feel like there's enough "hard" parts, that if I were to accidentally drop it that there wouldn't be any damage. Besides protection from hardware damage, all of the ports, the IR function, microSD card access, buttons, cameras, and the Light Sensor are all available. I own the newer Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" One thing I don't like also is the speaker openings are only two little holes for each speaker, which drowns out the sound a little, but not a lot. The stand function works fine on flat surfaces. Trying to view it on the bed is a little difficult because the back of the cover that bends doesn't bend completely 90 degrees; more like 80 degrees because the leather and sew job is a little tight.

A cool feature is the case is a two in one. Once you have the Tab inside the case insert, you can actually remove it from the cover's Velcro and use it like that with just the leather case around the tab or you can re-attatch it to the cover portrait ways (see product picture). It's a very simple, but intuitive feature. The case insert is leather on the front, but the back is fabric so it can attach to the velcro. A downside to that is if you remove the tab from the cover, the underside can get dirty really easily. But I keep mine in the cover anyway.

Now I mentioned the case can be used for both the Tab 2 and Tab Plus 7.0" but ultimately it was made for the Plus model. The cut-outs are specifically aimed to accommodate the Tab 2 7.0"s rear camera's LED lights, and the front Speaker at the top of the Tab (opposite the Samsung Logo). Also the Tab Plus is a little thinner by only a couple mm, so the Tab 2 is a little more of a tighter fit. But none of those are deal breakers because the case fits perfectly fine when it comes to functionality and form.

So overall, again, this case is perfect for people looking to protect their new Galaxy Tab 7in from minor scratches on the back of their tab and want to be able to use the camera and access all of their ports and cards. It's just perfect!

This case is well made except where it concerns corner protection, which is a tablet's weakest spot. The cover is measured out to cover the face and back of your tablet near exactly, but all four corners are left with zero protection. Six weeks in, my son dropped the tablet (Galaxy 7.0 plus) and shattered the screen on that entire corner. This was not a hard drop by any means.

Be aware, if you are looking for real tablet protection, you may want to look elsewhere. If your looking for a nice leather looking business cover, this case will suffice nicely. The manufacturer really needs to look at enclosing the corners with some sort of padded protection, its a shame to spend $25 on a screen protector and another $25 on this nice leather case, and then one drop from approx 2-3 feet negates everything.

My background is straight HTML/CSS development as well as FrontPage 2003 development. I was tasked with the objective of converting a problematic 5000 line FP website to something easy to use and compatible with my website provider. (Since FP has lost support from MS the provider also is withdrawing support.) Unfortunately, MS offers no conversion path. (Incredibly short sighted!!!!!!) I was on my own to get rid of any code that used "FP extensions" as well as various syntax problems from FP. (For example, uppercase FP HTML tokens are non-standard.)

Once all of the non-standard FP code was deleted or modified, I was able to import the website into one of the standard Expression Web CSS templates. From there everything worked very smoothly. Code validation is built-in with many ways of reporting status or errors. Pages can be previewed in 3 ways: a) Directly in the EW4 designer; b) Hitting a function to call Internet Explorer; or c) using their SP or SuperPreview mode. This last options allows side by side comparison of your page with two browsers (IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox, etc.) as well as on any resolution screen.

A really nice feature is that you can move or delete most of the windows and then later click "Panels, Reset Workspace Layout" to get things back to normal. Another feature is its HTML format command.

Publishing can be done through FTP and the website provider no longer needs FP Extensions installed. EW4 produces code that can be run anywhere. It integrates with PHP (available free from 3rd party), and you can test PHP code by launching Internet Explorer.

Minor criticisms: you have to save your edited source before launching IE. By comparison, the old Macromedia HTML development editor would transparently make a temporary copy and then launch IE. So if you want to "fool around" safely, you must manually make a copy to "play" with and leave the original alone. Another item is that there is no HTML tag editor. Intellisense is nice but it would also be nice to be able to see all of the options of say the tag, or have the editor determine the size of an image.

It's an excellent product and I would recommend it.

I use this product mostly to modify complex CSS layouts. I've found it to be a nice, intuitive tool.

This is a great alternative to Dreamweaver. Expression Web is $250 cheaper than Dreamweaver and at least as good for what I do. I'm glad Microsoft has provided me an alternative to Adobe's overpriced cash cow.

I'm not a full-time web designer who uses this 40 hours a week, so I can't speak to how it compares to Dreamweaver in that arena.

I haven't noticed a problem with slow start time (how many times do you restart it during a day, anyway?) I have also not noticed any instability. I'm running it in Windows 7.

We used FrontPage since last century and it was basically fine for straight forward web pages. Keeping things simple for the average person fluent in the basic type programs, Office, Photoshop etc. we created an in-house front for our business, without much headache.

Since our service providers were generating problems with serving FP, they recommended to change to ExpressionWeb, also from Microsoft.

We downloaded a trial copy from Microsoft and tried it out and with a relatively short learning curve, straightened out some simple issues and used it for the two month trial period. And it worked ok although a little buggy we could live with it. A bit cumbersome and more complicated than I would like it to be. But usable.

Then we purchased the program itself [Expression studio 4 Web professional] and figured all was dandy. But were surprised to come up against a lot of incomprehensible new problems, bizarre issues that completely messes up half of our pages -that number in the hundreds.

Table widths, column widths, fonts, all got seriously messed up in the transition from the trial program to the purchased version. Now if we were doing nothing but screw around with ExpressionWeb all day, I'd probably buy a how-to book and figure it out within a few weeks. But I have other work to do and this monster is trying to swallow me whole. It has been several days fighting it and I am clueless as to how to repair the problems it creates for me.

Ome example is our table widths getting out of whack. What normally is previously figured as an 800px width table becomes much much wider. Dragging the borders manually, typing in the numbers in the dialogue boxes, checking them in the html... its no good and the program has something in it that just messes up its own parameters. Another is that the purchased version is so slow with typing that there has to be something seriously wrong. Another problem, both in the demo and purchased versions is that Ctrl-Z may step backwards from the moment you opened the program! Not just one step backward but the entire changes you made for that session. So be careful to save all the time because you may by old habit press ctrl-Z and lose your entire session.

I think this program has been made way to complicated and I am sure if, as I say, you become a novice it works great, but in the current version is just to cumbersome and lacks simplicity and simple easy to use logic in the interface. If I type the table width to be "800" and the columns spaced equally, it should just do that. And not do something else.

I have this opinion that a today's web page program should be as simple as an easy to use word processing document, but this program is just giving me a hard time and no sir, I don't like it.

1. I don't like that the demo was better than the version we spent money on.

2. I feel that Microsoft should have an "import from Frontpage" option where the program cleans out the Frontpage incompatibility issues.

When Microsoft replaced FrontPage with Expression Web, it represented a major step forward in web development. EW 1 maintained the familiar Frontpage interface, but was a complete departure from its predecessor. Rather than loading excess code into sites to make IE 6 behave like its leaner competitors, EW was standards compliant and a model of lean code generation. EW2 added support for PHP and improved support for CSS, which was already outstandimg.

Then came EW3, and things began to fall apart. EW3 no longer supported plug-ins, like Eric Meyers' CSS Sculptor, and it sported a hard-to-read black and white interface that, unlike its predecessors, could not be customized. It was clearly not ready for prime time, and Microsoft promised EW3 owners a free upgrade to EW4.

EW4 is now out, and it represents another step backwards. The program will not load under certain antivirus programs, and one can spend hours trying to tinker with it to get it to boot, to no avail. Support is absent. Microsoft promises fixes are on the way, and maybe so. But until they arrive, I'd avoid this unstable (and, in my case, unusable) product. As with many of its software products, Microsoft appears to be upgrading for the sake of getting more dollars from its users, and functionality is sacrificed in the process.

EW2 remains on my Windows 7 machine and works quite well, thank you. It's a great product.

I own this product, but find myself going back to EW2 most of the time because EW2 loads much faster. I maintain a website that is updated several times a day, and waiting for EW4 to load just takes too much time.
