rooCASE Netbook Carrying Bag for Alienware 11.6-Inch M11x Laptop - Versasport Series Black

rooCASE Netbook Carrying Bag for Alienware 11.6-Inch M11x Laptop - Versasport Series BlackI really liked shape and design of this case but no way does it fit the m11x. Once you put the power supply, mouse, Ethernet cable, and a pen or two it's pretty much bulging and might not zip up. Also, forget about the cell phone pocket, your cell phone will break if you try to put it in the pouch.

I demoted it two stars specifically for trying to marry it's name to the M11x.

So the morale of the story, decent netbook under 10in bag, CRAPPY AS HELL M11x bag. I ended up getting a 13in Kenneth Cole bag at office despotism.

The holster is a bargain. I have been using it for time time now and find it is very convenience to use.

I have used off-brand holsters and accessories, and they usually fall apart long before I think they should. This is Verizon branded, even though it is made in China, and is clearly better quality than the off brand stuff. I have used this holster now for a couple of months and I am very pleased with it.

This is not the best holster one can think of. You can not flip open the phone while it is in the holster which is inconvenient. It is however built with perfect fit and is strong. This is the best one that I know of to be available on the market as of today. I have used the ones on the market where you can flip open the phone while it is in the holster but they invariably break in a month (some bad construction material), I have tried six of these ones and finally gave up on them.

POSRUS Antiglare Antifingerprint Screen Protector for Le Pan II Tablet

POSRUS Antiglare Antifingerprint Screen Protector for Le Pan II Tablet
  • Protects LCD display against scratches, abrasion and chemical resistant to protect the LCD screen.
  • Eliminates fingerprints on the screen.
  • Reduces glare from overhead lighting and provides a pleasing touch surface.
  • Installs easily in seconds.
  • Low-tack adhesive removes easily without leaving residue. Does not require solution, liquid, or "wet application."

i recommend getting latex gloves and putting them on before you apply the screen protector, it helps a lot. After applying the screen protector i was able to get all of the bubble out besides one that is about 1 mm away from the edge, and that is because a tiny piece of dust decided to test my OCD O.o But overall it is a great product and i recommend it to others.

If only I could get it on to my tablet screen without all the air bubbles! It has a matte finish which, but it did cut down on glare. I ended up just taking it off because I couldn't live with the bubbles, oh well!

Works as advertised. Take your time installing, I was unable to get all the air bubbles out but the ones that are left are near the edge and are hidden by the tablet case.

This screen protector is a must for the LePan II tablet. After purchasing the tablet I quickly realized how easily the high gloss screen got smudged and messed up. Excellent product. It fit perfectly just follow instructions (included) and enjoy a smudge free screen. The crispness of the unprotected screen suffers only minimal change but it's worth it.

I am very impressed with the quality and service for this item. I ordered this on a Sunday night and received it on Thursday. I was only expecting the screen replacement by itself but this seller also includes the tools needed to do a complete replacement. The torx screwdriver isn't the best of quality but it got the job done, the plastic case slider/remover was the A++ that I did not expect. With some help videos from youtube, this job took less than 15 min.

I'm very satisfied with this purchase, actually... take all expectiations and multiply them by 100 and you'll still be impressed. Now I'm kinda looking forward to breaking more cell phones lol.

Optoma EP-PK-100 PICO Pocket Projector (Black)

Optoma EP-PK-100 PICO Pocket Projector
  • Ultra-light at 4 ounces including battery
  • Projects image size up to 60 inches; Utilizes DLP Pico technologyResolution 480 x 320
  • LED light source lasts over 20,000 hours
  • Recharge battery via USB or included AC charger
  • With optional iPod/iPhone Upgrade Kit play directly from your Apple device (Part No. BC-BBIDMJA)

I was surprised by how well this device works, especially because it is so small. The size and weight of a cell phone, the PICO is a very compact and bright DLP projector. It is powered by a flat cell phone battery, or by an external AC adapter through the mini-USB port. The prongs on the adapter are interchangeable, an increasingly common feature, for those who travel abroad (US prong included, additional prongs sold separately). Video and audio input is through a single port on the side, using an composite cable with an audio-jack shaped plug on one end. Portability is where the PICO excels, but it comes with a sacrifice. It is perfect for people who need to take their show on the road, provided that you're only outputting from a portable media player, digital camera, or device with composite outs. It won't replace full-size projectors because of the 480 x 320 resolution and lack of VGA port. You'll still need a regular projector for laptop output and business presentations.

But for personal use, the Optoma opens up the possibility of family movie nights! You can enjoy big screen fun at about 1/3 of the price of traditional DLP projectors, and you don't have to worry about storage. It also comes with a protective soft zippered pouch (but it's too snug to fit the unit in easily).

The PICO is very easy to use and there's only 1 control: a focus dial. It's a bit finicky, but it works. There's no setup screen or any other hassle. It turns on instantly and displays the video the moment you plug in the cables. I tested it out on my Western Digital WD TV Live Network-ready HD Media Player and ASUS O!Play playing back some movies through the composite outs. Video quality looked pretty good, given the size of the device. Not great, but very acceptable. I sat the PICO on my desk about 15 feet away from the wall. The resulting video was about 10 feet across by 8 feet tall, covering almost my entire wall, and easily viewable. This distance was no problem with loss of brightness or visibility. The closer the screen is, of course, the brighter the image is (but smaller). It was actually quite cool projecting this onto my wall and I felt a sense of giddiness at seeing how big the video was. It was like having my own little private theater. I didn't like the lack of volume controls on the unit though, but this is a minor inconvenience as you can adjust the audio through the source device. The unit only has one speaker but no audio passthru port, another weak point, but it's loud enough in a small room of people. If you're competing with outside noise, it will probably be inadequate.

This product would've scored higher had it not been for the battery. The projector itself is warranted for 1 year. The battery for only 3 months! When I first got the projector, I charged the battery up fully, then forgot about it for a few weeks. Expectedly, it lost its charge during that time, so I left it plugged in overnight. The next day, I unplugged it and discovered that unit would not turn on. The battery inexplicably died. The red LED on side normally lights up when charging. I had to run the unit plugged into the wall at all times because of the faulty battery. This may be an isolated incident, but Optoma's 3 month warranty on the battery isn't very reassuring. This is definitely fishy and something to consider.

To summarize: if you're looking to connect a laptop to this, look elsewhere because it has no VGA port, and the low resolution means you won't see much even if you use a VGA to Composite or SVideo Converter because laptops are typically 1024x768 or higher. For geeks and video enthusiasts, the possibility for home theater fun may be an attractive selling point.

Buy Optoma EP-PK-100 PICO Pocket Projector (Black) Now

The Pico PK100 is a very small battery powered portable projector that produces a surprisingly good image in a darkened room. This model only supports composite video input. I was given this projector as a gift so I would likely have chosen the Optoma PK102 Pico Pocket Projector for the additional PC VGA support if picking one out for myself (I bought Sabrent PC Laptop Mac Computer to TV Presentation Converter, VGA to Video, PC to TV Converter Box, VGA-Video Converter TV-PC85 to provide the composite video, works great). That being said, the PK100 is still a remarkable device that is both fun and useful.

The box contains the Projector, rechargeable battery, USB cable (for charging only), charger, tripod adapter, and composite video\audio cable (Yellow, Red\white). We tried several video sources, including a digital camera, portable DVD player, and an iPod Nano (with the video output cable). These all worked well and produced perfectly acceptable image quality.

The unit has two brightness levels, but I always use the brightest one as it makes the truest colors. The darker the room the better, but the image is very visible at 6' in normal home ambient lighting. At 6' the image projected is roughly 2'x3' at 12' the size is 4'x6' but too washed out in anything but near total darkness.

Having a projector that works so well and that can be slipped into a pocket is very cool.

Highly Recommended!

CFH

I bought this unit because i wanted to be able to project images from my iPod Touch and iPod Nano 3G and didn't want to have to worry about breaking expensive bulbs. I already had one of those $49 cables to go from the iPod to composite video (the yellow cable).

I am amazed at how small this unit is--smaller than a flip camera. It doesn't do well in a room that isn't dark, but since I plan to use this for DJ gigs this isn't a drawback for me.

The image is good quality, up to 6 feet in size. Keep in mind it has just the composite input--you won't be able to go from a laptop to this device without some sort of converter box. Also, if you have 3.x or above firmware on your iPhone or iPod Touch you will have to buy the proprietary Apple cable.

I showed this off to the IT guys at work and I just overheard them raving about it! And they are a tough audience!

CONS: you have to screw in a tiny adapter (provided) to put the unit on a tripod, and I know I will lose the thing eventually. I wish the mounting had been better thought out. Also it is powered via usb so you will need to either charge the battery beforehand or have a laptop to plug into, it does come with a USB to AC adaptor for charging.

I sent this back. It would not work for my situation at all. I am a classroom teacher, and I attempted to use this for class. It was so dim, no one could make out the images. I could not get the room dark enough so that it would work, even with shades drawn.

sounds great but wasn't able to make it work even after purchasing modifying cable -sent back did get refund though = thanks amazon!!!

Ectaco C-Pen. 3.0 Multilingual Handheld OCR Scanner Pen

Ectaco C-Pen. 3.0 Multilingual Handheld OCR Scanner Pen
  • Selective data entry
  • Better data control
  • Increased scanning speeds
  • Scanning from irregular surfaces
  • Recognizes 238 languages

As a scholar who works with books and other printed sources a lot, I have long been on the lookout for an easy way to scan text into my laptop. I've tried using both flatbed scanners and digital cameras for this purpose, but I've found both to be awkward and time-consuming. That's why I was pleased to discover the C-Pen 20 it's not perfect, but it does the job quicker and more easily than any of the alternatives.

PROS:

It's easy to use; you just press the pointer to the page and a light comes on to let you know that the sensor is active. You then sweep the C-Pen from left to right at moderate speed as if it were a highlighter, and it converts the text on the page into electronic characters on your computer.

The text instantly appears wherever the cursor on your screen is located, so you can use this device with just about any Windows program (e.g., Word, Access, etc.).

The recognition rate is higher than I thought it would be; it's better than 99% on book-sized text. In practical terms, this means that you'll get one or two errors on average per paragraph, but these flaws are easily corrected (particularly if your spell checker highlights them for you automatically).

It's small and easily portable, so you can take it with you to libraries and archives with a laptop.

CONS:

The character recognition is sometimes thrown off by underlining and other marks on the page.

You must use it with a PC or laptop that has a USB port (it doesn't run on batteries like some scanning pens).

Even though it recognizes just about every major language written in Latin, Cyrillic, or Greek letters, it can't handle older typefaces (like German Fraktur). It also has trouble recognizing some symbols (such as footnotes).

You have to scan each line of text one at a time, so it's not necessarily the best solution if you need to copy many pages of text.

The bottom line is that the C-Pen 20 has been an excellent investment for me, and I recommend it to anyone who's looking for an easy way to transfer printed text into an electronic medium.

UPDATE (2011):

I wrote this review almost five years ago. I continue to think highly of this product despite the occasional error, I'm still amazed at how accurately it reads text most of the time. I only have two caveats to add:

1) The original grey and beige C-Pen 20 doesn't work with newer 64-bit versions of Windows, only 32-bit ones. This is tricky if you bought your PC or laptop in the past two years or so, you may be running a 64-bit version of Windows without realizing it (they both look the same to a non-technical user). You can check which version you have by going to Control Panel and selecting "System" it should say "32-bit" or "64-bit" under "System Type." If you have a 64-bit copy of Windows, you'll need to buy the newer C-Pen 3.0 or 3.5, or else see if you can find a black C-Pen 20 (which is also 64-bit compatible).

2) Digital cameras and OCR (optical character recognition) technology have improved dramatically over the past few years. If you need to scan multiple pages of text into electronic form, a digital camera and a good software program (Finereader or Omnipage) might be a better alternative. For saving snippets of text, however, the C-Pen continues to be the best solution.

Buy Ectaco C-Pen. 3.0 Multilingual Handheld OCR Scanner Pen Now

I am a bit of a scanning pen fanatic. I write papers and use them to collect research data. That is why I was excited to see that C-Pen (the best scanning pen manufacturer) had come out with a new model (the first in several years). My expectation was that this model would be far better than the C10 (the previous USB scanner) given the advance in technology since its release. I was pretty disappointed overall. This model is no quicker than the C10 and no more accurate. The software does not do as good a job as the C10 and it is not uncommon to have the pen miss an entire line of text. This is particularly important since I am often scanning very rapidly and don't take time to look up at the screen to see that the text is entered correctly.

Overall, not as good as the C10 (which I would give 4 stars), but better than the Iris Pen Executive (2 stars).

Please also note that this pen does not work with Mac computers (the only USB pen that does is the Iris Pen).

I feel completely compelled to write this review for the C-Pen 20. It far exceeds my expectation. I am a graduate student, working on a doctorate at Harvard University. It is a tool, or better yet, a weapon that has reduced my time tremendously. I wish I had it while going through my master's program.

I would say that it is about 90% accurate right out of the box without any training. I have had it about 3 weeks now, and with improved technique, I have increased its accuracy to about 95% 97%. I have found it helpful to always perform the stroke left right. It is easier for 2 reason, 1) that is the way humans read and 2) you don't have to readjust the position of your hand.

I would recommend it to anyone who has to do research, or persons who are in a profession where previous documentation is necessary.

Want Ectaco C-Pen. 3.0 Multilingual Handheld OCR Scanner Pen Discount?

I am a money manager in NYC. I probably read over 150 pages of research everyday. In order for me to track ideas and not forget things it is important for me to have some sort of method to organize this information overload. My first purchase was the IRIS Executive pen. It did a horrible job of converting written text into MS WORD, the error rate was over 50% and made the task of cleaning it up twice what it would of been if I just decided to type it. I returned it within 5 days. I went ahead and purchased the C-PEN (with a return policy). What a Difference! I can run through 100 pages of research and condense it into 2 pages with minimal errors. Not only does it create legible conversion (over 90%) but once you lift the pen it creates a space for you..(no need to hit a button on pen) This is probably the only one that should be invested in, they have the idea and technology down pat. C-PEN has made my life easier!

Save 18% Off

in a general sense, this c-pen seems OK, but:

there shouldn't be too much light (this is a problem especially at night time, i.e. under a bulb)

you shouldn't expect too much accuracy; i'm using it for Turkish texts and the overall accuracy is around 80%.

quality of the book also effects the result

tables and figures can't be scanned, of course

and finally, you've to be connected to your computer during operation.

Yet, i'm happy with this thing. It reduces the labour necessary to extract large amounts of text. Could be useful especially for PhD students.

This looks just like the mesh sleeve that Nokia initially bundled with their XM 5800. This particular product however seems as though it was made for something smaller. The phone can barely be slid in to the sleeve, it is extremely tight. If you get a call, the caller will probably hang up before you can get the phone out of the sleeve.

If you try to stretch the elastic bands on the side to make them lose, you're likely to ruin the sleeve as the elastic bands are attached to the two protective sides with an adhesive. When stretched, it felt like adhesive would give way.

Looks the look, but doesn't fit the device.

3M 497AJM 120V Portable Electronic Vacuum Cleaner

3M 497AJM 120V Portable Electronic Vacuum Cleaner
  • Toner/Dust Filter

I do a large portion of my IT work on the road, visiting clients at their offices and homes.

Pros:

These vacuum is part of my mobile tool kit, and works great for this purpose especially considering that all of the attachments, power cord, and hose fit into the upper portion of teh case leaving you with a nice small portable toolbox shaped item.

This vacuum has a surprising amount of suction.

The vacuum was built by 3M for their own people to use and specifically designed to vacuum things such as Toner (which is one of the finest and messy particles that you will run into, you don't want this stuff blowing out the other end of the vacuum!).

This vacuum was also designed from the ground up to be used with sensitive electronics. It contains features to prevent static build up that can take place while vacuuming.

Very good containment of vacuumed material in the disposable filter/collection bin.

CONs:

Be aware that this vacuum is fairly loud. This is not normally an issue, but you wouldnt want to turn it on next to someone taking a nap or talking on the phone. In my case, I have to make sure I really let everyone know around me that I will be using it. I have also used the Metro Datavac Pro 2 and will say that the ONLY thing I like better about that vacuum is that it is quieter than this one.

This is an expensive vacuum, and it does use expensive cartridges. I put this as a CON, however I do feel that the costs is worth the benifit of this great vacuum.

Neither of the CONs is worth a star deduction in my opinion.

If you are mobile with this vacuum, you may also want to carry an extension cord --I have had to use my extension cable about 50% of the time in the field, much better to be prepared for that need than not!

Buy 3M 497AJM 120V Portable Electronic Vacuum Cleaner Now

...and I mean that in a positive way. This item was purchased for use in servicing commercial electronic equipment. Works fine so far. Excellent quality hose, the best I've seen. Only question: What's with the photo of clog-like foot apparel? These 'accessories' were not included with my vac, which was, by the way, mercifully simply and economically packaged.

Read Best Reviews of 3M 497AJM 120V Portable Electronic Vacuum Cleaner Here

I was skeptical since the last couple different brand vacuums didn't have very good suction. This 3M vacuum has very good suction and is a great kit because all the attachments fit in the case.

Want 3M 497AJM 120V Portable Electronic Vacuum Cleaner Discount?

If you're looking at this, you already know that compressed air just moves dust around. You want something that removes it from your computers and other electronics.

For the past 10 years, I've been using whatever I had around to vacuum PC cases. Small car vacuums, the hose attachment on my Dyson ball, etc. To me, it was hard to justify spending hundreds of dollars on a regular vacuum for my house. So when I saw this product on Amazon, I skipped right past it. ~$200 for a vacuum that I'll only use on electronics?

But the cheaper alternatives on Amazon had pretty bad reviews. So they didn't seem like an improvement over what I was currently doing.

So I took the chance and bought the 3M. When it first arrived, I opened the case and thought "Oh no." I had the vacuum, but no hose, power plug, or attachments. For $200 I shouldn't have to buy these extra!

But it turns out, it's not really advertised in any of the pictures I see posted (so I'll post one of my own after this review), that the lid of the case, when it opens, contains a door that's held shut by a small strip of velcro. You remove the slip, the door opens, and everything's there. This alone is starting to make the $200 worth it for me -the convenience of the design. When closed, the vacuum is basically a closed toolbox with a handle on top. Everything you need is contained in there -nothing can be forgotten, fall out, etc. This makes it great for transporting it in your car, or carrying it around your building. There's actually a little extra room in the top lid so you can stash a philips screwdriver in there too, or any other small items you feel you might need when using this.

I plug it in and start cleaning, and I'm able to get every single bit of dust out of this computer. When using my other makeshift electronic vacuums, they had no problem getting the big chunks of dust that are highly visible and accessible. Vents, edges of the case, etc. were no problem. But they often left behind surface dust, so they still looked dirty. And some areas I couldn't get at all. The attachments you get on car vacuums and floor vacuums are meant to get in the corners of your house and car... but not in the corners of a small case.

But this 3M vacuum has a flexible enough hose and plenty of attachments to not only get the stuff you originally got in there to get, but also all of the surface dust. It makes things look brand new when you're done with them. You can get in-between PCI cards and RAM modules, get the dust within the individual fins of heatsinks, off the blades of fans, etc. If you can see it, you can get it. About the noise... it's about the same as the vacuums I've used before. It's not something I'd use at night when people are sleeping, and the pets still run when I turn it on... but it's about as loud as a vacuum is expected to be and nothing more.

I've only used it once, and that was my experience. Down the road I may update this review as I use it more often but it seems perfect. The only thing I'd change is to make the manual slightly thinner so it fits up in the lid instead of on the top of the white plastic box. It's not like I opened it before I started cleaning or anything, though. You can probably leave that out of the case if it bothers you too much.

Got this vacuum in May 2012. Still sucking with the best of them. And for $200+ for an electronics vacuum I would hope so...

Handspring Backup Springboard Module

Handspring Backup Springboard Module
  • Backup module for your Handspring Visor or Visor Deluxe
  • Ideal for when you don't have access to your desktop PC
  • Restore lost data with the click of a button
  • Easy to attach and remove
  • Compact design for storage and travel

I love my Visor. I keep "traditional" Palm information such as names and appointments, but I also keep books, reference materials, and databases. If I'm around my computer, I HotSync several times a day. Recently, though, I had to go on a business trip for a couple of months and would not have the ability to HotSync. I figured ... for some piece of mind was a good investment.

The backup process couldn't be easier. You pop the Springboard module into its bay, the Visor turns on and the Backup application appears. Tapping the backup button starts the backup operation, which lasts a couple of minutes. After that, you remove the module and store it in a safe place.

I have actually used both the backup and restore features. I was very impressed by the ability to restore every aspect of the Visor, from its ID, to its preferences. All the applications and data were copied exactly, which saved me considerable frustration after having to perform a hard-reset.

If you're constantly synching with your computer, you don't need the Backup module. If you are often away from your computer or if you use your Visor as a standalone PDA, the Backup module is not only crucial. This feature alone makes the Visor a worthwhile investment over a Palm.

Many people depend on the hotsync feature with their PC to save their data in case of a loss of battery or the old "Fatal Exception" error. Re-syncing with your PC only brings back your data ( phone numbers, appointments, etc) not all the programs you have loaded on the Visor. You probably didn't save the original file you downloaded, so know you have to go find them on the web again. This module saves everything so you don't have to worry. It's saved me lots of time.

The Handspring Backup Springboard Module is a quick and easy way to keep your Visor's data safe. The module accommmodates all the data on a Visor Deluxe, and its simple one-step backup and restore processes are virtually fool-proof.

This module provides a second form of backup for users who synchronize their Visor handhelds to a PC or a Mac. For users who don't sync to a PC or Mac, this module is a must-have to keep your data safe.

Yes there are programs that allow one to do a complete backup or restore of all data and programs on a palm device during a cradle or modem hotsync, but only the Handspring Visor with the Backup Module allows one to do it when one has no access to a computer or phone line. Nothing is more simple either, just pop in the module and tap the "Backup Now" icon that appears in the middle of the screen. The price is excellent too when one considers the ease of use and piece of mind that this module provides. I highly recommend this module for any Visor owner.

The Backup Mod is a slice of heaven. I always worried about travelling with my PDA cause I couldn't "hot sync" with my PC and was worried about loosing collected data. This module removes those fears completely. I recently went to Switzerland and my Visor hung up on me and I had to do a Hard Reset. But check it...popped in the Backup Mod and WHAM....back to normal in a few minutes...something a Palm can't offer. This device truly redefines PDA mobility and provides a greater sense of redundancy. Just make sure you keep your eye the Backup Mod. If someone grabbed it they could restore all your data to their own device...my advice is to get "LockMe" to secure your PDA so when its restored a password is required.

A must have module for people who really do use & store data in their Visor and don't just use it as a conversation piece.

Sony Clie PEG-TJ25 Handheld

Sony Clie PEG-TJ25 Handheld
  • High resolution color display produces over 65,000 colors for amazing clarity
  • Super-slim aluminum body discreetly slides into your pocket or purse
  • Center Jog Dial Navigator wheel and arrows enable four-way directional movements for easy access to your applications and information
  • Store and transfer digital files with optional Memory Stick PRO media
  • Stay organized and entertained--at home or on the road

I'll begin by saying that I timed this one right! I got it for 160 before the rebate, so the price (140) was perfect.

I upgraded from an 8mb Visor Deluxe and this is AWESOME! The hi-res color screen is very sharp. My wife has a Zire 71 and we both agree mine is sharper. Palm OS5 is pretty cool too, though you wind up only getting 11 mb useable out of the 16. I fairly quickly bought a memory stick.

This thing is FAST! It's noticeably faster than my wife's Palm and faster than any other PDA I've seen (then again, I don't look if it's over 250). The lack of multimedia capabilities was a bit of a bummer, but I didn't think paying 70-100 was worth it when I have computers just about everywhere I go.

I've read the complaints about the lack of a cradle, but I personally like the little sync adapter. It only needs one of the USB cables with a "digital camera jack" to work. Since I have 5 of them, I took one to work. Now, I just grab my Clie and the 1-inch square adapter and I can sync at work and home. I actually even put the charging cord in the bedroom, so I can keep it on the nightstand charging for those late-night "honey do's" :D

Overall, I'm VERY pleased. Battery life is a bit of an issue, but the LiIon battery has no "memory effect" so I just charge it each night. I can get a solid 5 hours at a lower screen brightness (still easy to see) even using the memoery stick and running CPU-intensive apps.

I'd definitely recommend this if you can find it for less than $170. Totally worth it in my opinion. The cover is a weak spot and the stylus takes some getting used to, but these are the only drawbacks (IMHO) and are quickly eclipsed by speed, "look" (The Clie Launcher is awfully cool) and overall value. Put some pix of your kids, family, vacation, etc on it and show your friends and you'll be hooked! Buy with confidence.

PS Sony extends the warranty to one year for free when you register.

A few follow-ups:

1. Apparently Sony is closing this out to make room for the TJ-27. The Tj-25 can now be found as low as 120 (if you time it right).

2. The cover issue was easily fixed with a dab of superglue on each "hook". Quite solid now (fold cover back to get it out of the way (it's made to do this)).

3. Battery life has been measured more accurately at 4:30 on "medium-low" backlight setting.

4. The sync adapter is still quite handy. A tad bit larger than a postage stamp and quite portable if you already have the aforementioned cable where you're going.

5. I've had it for 30 days now, and aside from wishing I'd caught it at 120, I'm still quite happy.

6. To clarify "lack of multimedia" I mean "even your old Nokia phone had more tones". On the other hand, I always have the sound off anyway (as does my wife who has a multimedia-capable Zire 71) so I didn't need one in the first place.

I had to retire a palm zire 21 after 2 months because it would reset itself almost every other day. I sent it to the palm guys and it came back in worse condition that before. After reading the reviews on Amazon...I decided to call it quits while I was ahead and search for another PDA. (I had a palm Vx prior to that for 2 years).

WOW! What a jewel the Sony Clie is! It has much more memory than my other two models and for a work at home mom that's using her PDA to keep track of life, recipes, and wants all names and addresses at her fingertips, IN COLOR, this was a WONDERFUL purchase!

For the price (mine was $139), I cannot complain. It is much faster than my other palm pilots, the battery life is great, I don't really care that much about included applications, although the outlook "handler" does a great job (or seems to), and I think Sony really thought out the organization of the main screen on this PDA. A+

Unlike the other reviewer I find this model a vast improvement over the Palm 505. I like the size and the display!

The lack of a docking cradle was a surprise but you get an adapter for hot syncing and power. A cradle seems to run 20-30 so it does not bother me that much. The stylus does take some getting use to. I didn't find grafetti 2 much of a change.

Don't use mail so I can't judge on that. All other programs worked just fine!

As to the claim of a case should have been included. I have only had Palms and they didn't come with a "decent" case.

The cover is way better then that cheasy one that palm used to give out.

I like it though I probably would have picked up the TJ35 if I had thought this out.

I am not disappointed with this purchase!

Oh do keep the box because you need a serial number to get the refund!!!!!! I tossed mine! :(

Want Sony Clie PEG-TJ25 Handheld Discount?

This is one of the worst products of any kind that I have ever bought in my entire life. My first one lost power after a month, even though it was charged and never came back on. They tried a new battery, but the gizmo was dead. So, I got the replacement. Heck, there can be a bad apple in every barrel.

The new one had a great deal of difficulty keeping the backlight on. For no apparent reason, it would just not be on when the unit was turned on. Usually holding the power on switch up would start it up. That was until the final day, when it wouldn't come on, dumped all my data and died. This was when it was only three months old. The only thing that restrained me from driving my car over it so that it would be really dead, was the thought that I needed to return it.

In addition, if you should be so foolish as to buy this thing, if it happens inadvertently turn on in your purse or if it rings an alarm for a meeting and you don't hear it, it will stay on until the battery dies.

You've been warned..................

I recently upgraded from an SJ33 to the TJ25, and there are many improvements, and a few drawbacks. The first noticable improvement is the slim design. The case is made out of aluminum on the front, and sturdy plastic on the sides and the back. It would have been better if they would have made it all aluminum, or at least the back aluminum as well.

It has a decent amount of memory on it. 16 MB with 11 MB user accessable. Don't even ask me why they don't just make all 16 user accessable. They were able to make it all accessable in the TH55. Hell, the SJ33 had 15 MB user accessable.

The provided Clie Launcher has replaced Z Launcher, which is what I used to use as my launcher. The Clie Launcher is well desigined. If it had a card icon when a memory stick is inserted, that would be nice.

The lack of software is another issue. It doesn't come with any from of Documents To Go or anything else that is really good. It comes with a trial version of Intellisync Lite.

It boasts a nice color screen, that when viewed in sunlight, is terrible, as with all of the screens I have seen. My GBA has a better screen in sunlight than this does.

It DOES have a really fast processor. 200 MHZ. It is FAST. Of course, with a 200 MHZ processor, it also runs Palm OS 5.2.1.

The battery life is good. I haven't tested it without charging it, because I charge it every night. But after a days' use, it is down to about 30%. Keep in mind that I am constantly accessing LARGE applications off of the memory stick. I'd say if I didn't use the memory stick like I do, it would go about 3-4 days on a single charge.

This is a wonderful PDA and I would really suggest it to those who are new in the PDA market or want to have basic functions without all those extra features.

Pros:

1. Full color screen.

2. Slim design, less than half-an-inch thick.

3. Fast processor.

4. Aluminum front.

Cons:

1. Lack of software.

2. Hard plastic everwhere but the front.

3. Terrible screen in sunlight.

Hope I helped you in your decision in the PDA market

White Original Breffo Universal Spiderpodium Stand, SPWHT001 For iPhone iPod Android BlackberryVery useful product for me at a great price. My iPhone will not stay in the holder they give you with the otter box and I hate it in my pocket. I can bend this little gadget and use it like a holder on my slacks or skirt. I can fix it so that it works holding the iphone upright at my desk. Very useful for all types of things besides iPhones etc...

elago EL-STYLUS-RET Stylus Retractable for iPhone 4/3GS/3G, iPad, iPod Touch, AT&T and Verizon iPhon

elago EL-STYLUS-RET Stylus Retractable for iPhone 4/3GS/3G, iPad, iPod Touch, AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4, Galaxy S and Galaxy TabI have an iPhone 4. I wanted something compact for a hand-held device. This stylus is amazing! It took me forever to find it but I'm SO glad I kept digging. It's great for typing and games (and everything). It's smooth, sleek, stylish, comfortable & functional. Extended it fits perfectly in my hand, though it can be used unextended as well. Both the lanyard connector cap & extension cylinder snap firmly into place. This is a REALLY solid unit. I am amazed it's under $10. I feel like I should have paid at least 2x as much. The tip is rubber "bubble" so it actually behaves like the skin on the tip of your finger! Brilliant. I have only had it 1 week & I'm already getting super fast @ typing with it. I can't say enough to recommend this product to iPhone users. PLUS there is a slogan printed on the side: "Design is Improvement" I am into art, design & web so I love the concept. The only thing that I don't like is that the slogan is starting to wear off already :( Thank you Elago! Great job.

This is my first stylus so I have nothing to compare it to. From reading comments on other styluses the two main things that make a good stylus is how much pressure is required to get the screen to register and how easily it glides across the screen. This does both those to my complete satisfaction. The stylus unextended is 2 5/8" long; extended it's 3 3/4". I use it unextended holding it up against my index finger most of the time. I use it with my iPad.

This stylus is very nicely madeprobably of 400 series Stainless steel which is highly polished. The extendable feature is smooth

and convenient. Unfortunately, my sample has a VERY VERY tight capso tight that you have to pry it loose

using two very strong finger nails or a knife blade. When it comes off it doesn't fit on the other end like a pen cap

would! This is unfortunate because it would give the cap a place to park and also would extend the 3 3/4 inch (extended)

length by about 1/2 inch to make it a bit more comfortable to use. The cap has a short cord to a semisoft plastic plug that

fits (poorly) in the headphone jack. This means you cant use the headphone jack unless you put the cap in your pocket.

These design flaws are surprising given that the Manufacturer's slogan printed on the stylus is "Design is Improvement".

I think I will re-machine mine to correct these design flaws and then I might have a really nice stylus.

Follow UpI fixed it by turning a bit off the working end to make the cap release easier and turned a bit more off

the sliding end to let the cap park there. I also found a pocket clip that fit the barrelit's now 4 1/4" long

with the cap parked in place while using the stylus tipand it has a convenient pocket clip.

Now it's perfect.

PS What do you do if you don't have a Lathe? Perhaps wait until elago "improves the design".

PPSthe metal parts are plated brassnot Stainless as I first thought

I like this stylus a lot but in less than a month the rubber on the tip has started to crack. I do not see anything about support or a warranty on the Elego site.

Want elago EL-STYLUS-RET Stylus Retractable for iPhone 4/3GS/3G, iPad, iPod Touch, AT&T and Verizon iPhon Discount?

I text an entire staff of ten people and 5i managers plus. After a while I said to myself I need a stylus. I bought a few different kinds to try them out. this one worked the best. I also picked this one because the tip is covered. It is the only one I saw covered. I read many reviews on many different styluses and it looks like all styluses have a limited life. I've had mine a month and nothing wrong yet. I will definitely get this one again. It's responsive, convenient, and I think it will last longer because the tip is protected. I love this stylus!

Belt Mounted Leather Case Custom Designed for the Sony Clie SJ22 - Black Color with Removable Clip by Gomadic
  • Case dimensions are sized to accommodate 104.2 x 72.4 x 17.8 mm . A perfect fit for the Sony Clie SJ22.
  • Constructed of premium black leather, this slim fitting and classically designed carrying case will fit any clothing style or fabric.
  • Detachable belt clip can be used as a carrying option. Case also has an integrated belt loop to provide a second alternative.
  • Secure magnetic closure simplifies case operation and provides quick and easy access. No snaps or buttons to align or secure.
  • Leather case is custom built of high quality materials and covered by a lifetime warranty.

Very very well made, but NOT for the clie. The Clie may fit it but the Clie has buttons that stick out ABOVE the surface. In this case the fit is so tight the buttons are pressed constantly and the Clie stays on until it runs out of power. It was a waste of money for carrying my Clie. It is now doing (very expensive) duty as a second layer of protection for my Ipod Classic which resides in a clear plastic case.

It was very clear that the manufacturer NEVER really tested the Sony Clie SJ 22 in this leather case. Some of the Sony PDA's are quite fine in this case like the t615 with recessed buttons and it would be good for them, just NOT the SJ22.
