JAVOedge Cherry Blossom Flip Case for Amazon Kindle Fire 7" (Ocean Blue)

JAVOedge Cherry Blossom Flip Case for Amazon Kindle Fire 7'
  • Specifically made for Kindle Fire
  • Built-in kickstand allows the Fire to be viewed hands-free
  • Built-in frame provides a snug fit for the Kindle Fire and prevents it from accidentally slipping out of the Case
  • An extra secure flap safely keeps the Fire in the Flip Case and keeps if from accidentally slipping out
  • The design of the case allows for complete access to the device

I had a tough time picking out a Kindle cover and I really put some thought into how I would use my Kindle Fire before purchasing the cover. I do want to say I am very pleased with my decision with this cover. I knew that I would be sharing my Kindle Fire with my 8-year old daughter. I was afraid of purchasing a sleeve-cover as I was concerned about my daughter dropping the Fire upon taking it out of the sleeve. Who am I kidding! I also have "butter-fingers" once in awhile. I was also against traditional book covers as I didn't want a hanging flap when using the Fire for games. I knew that our Fire would be used most in transit or waiting room environments and I do want to say that the flip cover design is perfect for protecting our Kindle Fire when it is on the go and used by younger users. You do not have to worry about any "butter-fingers" with this cover.

I did expect this cover to have more padding based on the picture shown and therefore provide better protection. This cover is lightly-padded and the plus side to this is that it fits nicely in my purse. The inside leather material covers sufficiently every part of the Kindle case but around the screen it may cover a little too well as it is hard to drag the home screen up when it is not shown, but it is a minor inconvenience. I have to put my index finger under the leather sometimes to bring up the home bar application.

I am also pleased with the dark color of the cover-material around the screen as it is not distracting from the view of the screen. I would not recommend the light-colored inside covers with some of the other flip designs by this company for that reason.

Our Kindle has not been dropped yet so I can't comment on how well this lightly-padded cover may protect the Fire from this, but I am comforted in the fact that the case is protected by this cover from dings and scratches that will result from traveling. It's flip-design is perfect for reading on the go in tight spaces and for games. The stand is a neat idea which I will not utilize very much, but it works well. Who knows maybe I will try and stand the Fire up if I decide to read something at breakfast. Oh, the stand only works in the vertical position shown. It is not good for the horizontal position! So if you are going to stream video with the idea of using this stand then this cover is not suitable for this and you may want to choose another design. Also, I love that this cover provides a pocket. I put a cleaning cloth for the screen in the plastic part and the cheat-sheet of instructions in the folder part. Great idea and practical for any paperwork or lists of things that you may need to carry on the go as we do...

I hope this helps in those of you overwhelmed with the variety of covers out there. Please think about how your Kindle is going to be used and who will be using this when purchasing your cover.

Acase iPad 3 Case - The New iPad 3rd Generation Premium Micro Fiber Leather Case and Flip Stand with

Acase iPad 3 Case - The New iPad 3rd Generation Premium Micro Fiber Leather Case and Flip Stand with Stylus Holder - 100% Support Sleep & Awake
  • The New Design iPad 3 Leather Case: Automatically wakes and puts the new iPad to sleep
  • Available for access to all functionalities
  • Available for two standing positions, and a stylus to attach to the case
  • Build in magnetic closure, stylus is not included
  • All controls, buttons, and pots are kept open. Fits both iPAD 2 and iPAD 3.

The reviews were mixed, everything from the camera hole didn't match, to the iPad not fitting. They were all wrong. I bought this for my iPad 3 and it fits like a glove, it doesn't slide out and protects the iPad. I needed protection because my 4 yrs old loves the iPad and I was worried about protecting it. The only pet peeve I have is the way it closes, because of the magnetic close and auto turn off/turn on. The case sometimes doesn't seal well or close well, and the iPad is left on. This would be a 5 star if it had a snap to seal it shut. Otherwise, this product works great.

This cover is so much better than Apple's smartcover. Much better protection, nice padded material that offers ample cushioning if the iPad were to drop, and it fits great. Couldn't be happier!

I have used Acase leather covers for years on my iPad1. Please realize my rating is a personal one because I use my iPad -using the Acase -on my lap and email people. The iPad 1 case has 4 selections for upright use ( broadside, not portrait) and I set the iPad on the second set of notches and I have a secure solid base with plenty of surface to keep my iPad stable. The only reason I give the acase for the iPad3 a three star is there is only one upright and the base isn't deep enough for stable use on my lap. As I tried to type it was rocking back and forth. So I have retrofitted the Acase from my iPad 1 and am making do with it. I couldn't take a photo with my ipad 1 case and it isn't perfect, but it works for me. I wish Acase would have retained the same 4 point system used in their previous Acase covers as that would have perfectly fit the iPad and met my needs. If you use your iPad on a table and not your lap, this could be a 5 star for you. Again Acase is my favorite and it would sure be nice if they modified this case.

The color was a little brighter than i had expected but that's ok! it is still really good looking and love the brighter one anyway! the cover itself seems really good! arrived promptly and the magnet works really really really well for shutting off the ipad and waking it up. material seems really legit too! all in all, great product for the price!

M-Edge Kindle FlexStand, White (Fits Kindle Keyboard)

M-Edge Kindle FlexStand, WhiteExactly what I hoped for. This stand makes it a pleasure to read while freeing up your hands.

It's super easy to "install" and use just pop the four rubberized, padded corners around each corner of the Kindle, then bend the two protruding back legs into whatever angle you need, and voila, the Kindle is standing on its own. The legs are sturdy, easy to bend, and they stay exactly as you position them. Each leg has a rubber ball at its tip which helps grip the surface you set the stand on. The stand can be used with the Kindle standing vertically or on its side. I've found it pretty stable, even on an uneven surface like a couch or my leg. Its range of adjustment has been more than adequate for my couch/laptop/table/bed reading needs. In the vertical orientation, it will adjust from nearly 90 degrees (Kindle almost completely vertical) back to around 45 degrees.

It seems designed to work with a naked Kindle, and I'm not sure it would be compatible with a cover. My Kindle has just a skin and the stand fits well. It's so unobtrusive I just carry the Kindle around with the stand still attached. You can charge the Kindle in the stand. The stand is lightweight, easy to pick up, and seems to hold the Kindle securely, though I wouldn't be swinging it around or anything. Great product!

I received this today, and have already used it. I'm so happy that I didn't try to buy a cover/stand combination, since I think it would have been a compromise solution. This is terrific. Since it's difficult to figure out from the photos: It's like a very flexible metal piping with rubber feet which can be twisted any way you want to for adjustments. It reminds me of a GUMBY! The flexibility makes it really easy to install and deinstall the corners so that your Kindle can be put back into a case.

I often read with meals, and this is a hands free solution (not to mention much easier on my neck! I can sit with my head up, instead of bent down to the Kindle).

(5/1/11) Just a quick update:

I continue to use the stand often, and have found it useful while reading in bed. It props the Kindle up, so you can be more comfortable, and not have to hold it in one place while you read.

Enjoy!

I bought one for my K2 in February 2010. I loved it. The arms allowed me to form a holder for my K2 to place securely on my treadmill and recumbent bike. Reading while exercising makes the time fly by. All you do is turn on the TTS, turn the sound off, change the layout to landscape and enjoy your book. The TTS will automatically turn the pages for you. This cuts down the chances of knocking your Kindle over. Of course you can't do this wiith books that have the TTS disabled but just plan ahead.

It came in the mail today and I can't wait to work out tomorrow! It also works great for just hands free reading. If you like to knit, crochet, or other crafts, now you can read while you do this too. I highly recommend this to all K3 owners.

Extremely versatile. Can't say enough good things about this product. A miracle for the Kindle user.

Sanddisk Memory Stick 4 GB for PlayStation Portable

Sanddisk Memory Stick 4 GB for PlayStation PortableAt 4GB, you can burn 11 movies (avg length of 90 min) on this sucker! I bought this when it first came out for $100. FYI how it's done: Take a non coded VHS movie (or home video), record it to DVD-R. Make sure it's a Sony or Memorex DVD-R. Warning: Some other brand DVD-R (e.g., Pengo, etc) are not compatible. Get the Sony PSP software for your computer, then download your home DVD onto it. You'll save a ton of money versus buying a bunch of factory made UMD's (with a restriction on title selection at that). Resolution is at the least as decent as a UMD as well, even at low AVC.

This is perfect for the PSP my son got for Christmas. Has tons of memory now and the savings were tremendous.

We cleaned my daughter's DSi with rubbing alcohol on a paper towel to clean and smooth the surface. It does take a little bit of time to make sure it goes on right. The holes to punch out for the buttons didn't seem like they would pop out easily so we used the tip of a knife to cut them out. But the skin fit perfectly on my daughter's pink DSi and it makes it look like a whole new DSi. It's very pretty, and we are very happy with the product!

So I pulled both sides out and it pressed the retract button to have the cords go back inside then it got stuck. I somehow mnaged to get them back in but when I used it later and had to pull them out then this time the cords didnt go back in. So now my retract button doesnt work and the cords are hanging out. But other than that the item works fine, Just have to be careful with the cords.

iHome iDM70BC iPad 1 Case with Built-In Rechargeable NXT Flat-Panel Stereo Speakers (Black)

iHome iDM70BC iPad 1 Case with Built-In Rechargeable NXT Flat-Panel Stereo Speakers
  • Protective silicone sleeve
  • 6-position stand
  • Built-in rechargeable flat NXT stereo speakers
  • Plays iPad sound through included audio cable that allows you to enjoy your music, movies, games and apps anywhere
  • Flat stereo speakers - specially designed flat NXT stereo speakers deliver clear, crisp sound with a thin profile that fits anywhere
  • 6 position stand for optimal access allows you to find the perfect angle for typing, interacting with games or apps;
  • Comes with storage pouch and Velcro fasteners
  • Connect the internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery to a computer or other power source with the included USB cable
  • Durable case protects your iPad - stylish faux leather case keeps your iPad safe and beautiful on the go;
  • Silicon inner sleeve with cutouts for headphone jack, dock connector, on/off and volume
  • Rechargeable lithium-ion battery with USB charging cable;

This case is for the iPad first generation. iPad2 is smaller and has a more rounded shape contour which will not be a good fit here.

The exterior is made of sturdy leather or leatherette (I can't find a box description if it is made of real leather or not). The iPad, besides being protected by the leather flaps, will also be encased inside a silicone frame. To make sure it is securely closed when not in used, there is an elastic band (similar to Moleskine notebooks) that you can wrap around the cover.

There are several positions you can do with the case, for typing, watching and listening. This can be achieved by switching the two Velcro straps to support the flaps.

There is no extra battery for your iPad, the built-in USB rechargeable battery is for the speaker. The USB cable and the 8mm audio cable are housed in the middle of the iPad cover where there is a mesh pouch. Both are about 8 inches long.

The speaker is louder than the iPad's own speakers, but don't expect too much. It sound very decent, just don't have enough base.

If you have the older iPad, this is a decent external speaker and protective case.

This is a lovely leather Ipad case, but it's also a very nice set of portable speakers. When I'm at home, I sometimes hook it up to my little television that isn't loud enough. If it will take a headphone jack, it can be hooked up to these speakers, and it's nice when one product can be good for more than one purpose. I like the elegance of this solution as well as the elegance of the product design.

I had a previous cover that I loved. I didn't think another cover could compare, but this cover blows my previous one away. It makes it easy to stand your ipad up for movie watching or for use upright with a portable keyboard. It feels like it has more sturdy protection compared to my previous case, and yet it still doesn't add that much weight or bulk. My favorite part is the speakers. I can't believe that such a small cover can make my ipad sound like a real stereo. I think the sound is great, but I will admit that I prefer a softer, low bass sound. This case does everything I can imagine that I'd want a case to do. I highly recommend it.

Want iHome iDM70BC iPad 1 Case with Built-In Rechargeable NXT Flat-Panel Stereo Speakers (Black) Discount?

I feel so incredibly ripped off now. I bought the darn Apple smart cover for my Ipad and it's a useless thing compared to this.

First of all, this is a very well designed, well built, and solid case that protects your Ipad. I feel safe putting my iPad in there and carrying it around without running the risk of scratching it. The smart cover is a flimsy little thing that does nothing but cover up the screen, it's useless in my opinion as the rest of the iPad can be easily damaged. This case not only has a nice leather case surrounding and protecting the expensive iPad from all sides, it also has an internal silicone sleeve for the iPad. Tack on a screen protector and you've literally got two layers of protection for your iPad on all sides. I finally feel good about carrying it around and using it without fear of damage.

As for the the speakers: they're much better than the built in ones for the iPad. However the sounds isn't perfect but it's still very loud, clear, and strong. The rechargeable battery is such a godsend as opposed to other portable Ipad-compatible speakers that drain your iPad for sound output.

Great design in sound, protection, quality, durability, and comfort. I highly reccomend buying this instead of anything the Apple store offers similar to it.

Save 64% Off

I wasn't all that impressed with this case. I was intrigued by the idea of having a case with built-in speakers, but after using it for a month or so, I've gone back to my old case, the AYL Folio iPad case). This one does make a nice stand for watching movies, but so does my other case. My main issue with this one is how much bulk and weight it adds, it's quite noticeable versus the other case. More annoying, the charger cables are inside at the hinge and I could not get them folded away enough for the case to lay flat when shut, you have to use the elastic band to get it fully shut. It's really annoying. So really the only reason to use this is if you intend to use the sound features a LOT. The sound is just so-so. It definitely is better than the iPad, particularly to produce any amount of volume. But it quickly gets tinny, lacks bass, and is very directional (fades at angles quickly). If you want sound that projects any distance at all, you will want to look elsewhere. I compare it to any of a number of small plugin speakers you can get for an iPhone/iPad and the sounds is pretty much the same, without having to carry the bulk and weight of this case. I tend to need to use headphones as usually I am not someplace where I am able to turn the sound up; in situations where I did want sound, I needed much more than it would produce, so for me, this was a fail compared to other options.

BoxWave Dell Axim X30 ClearTouch Anti-Glare Screen Protector (Single Pack)

BoxWave Dell Axim X30 ClearTouch Anti-Glare Screen ProtectorI've only had the screen protector for a week, but I've used my Axim quite a bit in that time.

Pros

reusable. Wash and reuse. Item is a nice solid-seeming sheet.

non-glare screen works well.

touch screen works well with item on.

Cons

not as easy to roll out the bubbles as indicated. Better to apply from one edge slowly and use card to smooth it over the surface.

"Sticky" side gets grimy easily, so you have to be careful when applying the screen, or you'll have one corner unable to stick (as I now have)

Overall I find myself satisfied with this product.

(deserves 5 star for quality).

Quality is really good. Perhaps even better than bare PDA screen. I could write better with this screen protector than PDA screen without any screen protector. Perhaps, this is very durable and may last for a long time, but I do not know how long it will because I used it only for few days. CAUTION!!!: The $13 package only contains 1, (store usually sells by dozen). So, if you make mistake when you apply it to your PDA, you have to pay for another.

DYMO LabelManager Plug 'n' Play Label Maker, Grey (1768960)

DYMO LabelManager Plug 'n' Play Label Maker, Grey
  • Connects via USB to your PC or Mac
  • No software to install - built-in software pops up on your computer screen, ready-to-use
  • Customize your label with any fonts or graphics on your computer
  • Lithium-ion battery recharges via USB connection - no power adapter or AA batteries needed
  • Package includes DYMO LabelManager PnP label maker,1/2 Inches starter D1label cassette, USB cord, li-ion battery pack, quick start guide and warranty card

This product works great. I particularly like how clean it cuts. The Dymo hand-held I have often does not cleanly cut through the tape. This product plugs into my Macbook and immediately shows up as a drive. The software is launched from the drive and allows printing of simple labels. I keep this in my vehicle and can easily print labels off my laptop on job sites.

PROS:

no separate power required; powers off USB

able to print labels in about 15 second from plugging in

use my existing stock of DYMO labels

the tape fits securely and device feels solid

label cutting is clean

the base can also be used to wrap/store the USB cord

CONS:

included software only supports the simplest designs

would prefer form factor that can better fit in case (more rugged)

width of tape limited

this thing is really awesome compared to the portable one sold at target/walmart stores. very easy to use and it's nice that you don't have to mess with the font sizes everytime you print a label. We are using this label maker at a doctor's office to print name labels for the patient charts. We set it at 2.5 inches and it doesn't matter how long the names are, the labeller automattically adjusts the font to fit the name on a strip that's 2.5 inches long. love it!!! would definitely recommend, esp if all the labels that you print are the same exact size each time!

Read Best Reviews of DYMO LabelManager Plug 'n' Play Label Maker, Grey (1768960) Here

When they say "Plug and Play," they mean it. This label printer appears as a mounted drive in Mac OS X and Windows, and you run the software right off the printer, no installation required. Tested with OS X 10.6 and Windows 7. It is bus-powered (no AC adapter) and small enough to slip in any briefcase or laptop bag, which means you can print labels anywhere and everywhere with trivial ease. I have and love a LabelWriter Twin Turbo, and that's nice for address labels and the like, but this is one you can tote out to the garage or your grandmother's house with your notebook computer, or take with you to make professional-looking project folders in the car outside the client's office. It is awesome.

A previous reviewer rated this one star because it can't print 1" address labels. This is true, but I feel that the poor rating is unwarranted; it prints exactly what it claims to, and it does a great job.

Want DYMO LabelManager Plug 'n' Play Label Maker, Grey (1768960) Discount?

Plugged this into the USB port on my MacBook Pro, went to Finder, clicked on LM PNP then selected the DYMO Label Light.app.

The app looks like a tiny word processing screen and all you have to do is place your curser into the label box and start typing what you would like to have printed on the label. Options available to format the label include bold, underline, italic, font size and type. (I wish the font options would show the style of the font rather than just the name time consuming to try out each font.)

I like that there are options to print the text onto the labels both vertically and horizontally.

Another interesting function is the ability to do a screen grab and to insert it onto the label although I'm unsure of how this could used most efficiently. Just tried inserting a small image and when I printed the label it wasn't clear at all.

The unit comes with a rechargeable lithium battery and charges when plugged into a powered USB port.

D1 Label cartridges are available in 1/4-inch; 3/8-inch; and 1/2-inch sizes and come in a variety of colors. They are however, not inexpensive.

To save on label waste, I like that the unit does not auto cut the label. (You have to press the cut button on the unit.) I owned a different unit, the Brother PC-Connectable Label Maker with Auto Cutter (PT-2430PC) which always wasted a small bit of label each time it would auto cut.

The unit itself has a small footprint and won't take up much desk space when not in use.

I do wish this unit worked with Bluetooth or WiFi...

I bought the dymo PNP label manager last week and have been using it ever since. The fact that you can use your keyboard to type in labels and adjust the label length means quicker labels and less wasted ones than old portable systems. I had a fancy older style one that I never used because it needed 6 batteries and was just such a fiddle to make a couple of labels. The portability of the Dymo PNP, as mentioned by others, would also be handy if you have a laptop. I am going to toss my old label maker now, it's not worth the running and time costs.

It worked first off with my Mac too.

The 1 star review someone posted is totally unjustified. If that person had looked into it online before buying he would have found out it wasn't suitable for his needs.

Koolertron 2.4GHz Mini Wireless Air Fly Mouse/Keyboard

Koolertron 2.4GHz Mini Wireless Air Fly Mouse/KeyboardI've been a longtime HTPC user and have used the Gyration Air Music Remote for several years. The remote was finally starting to break down, so I was searching for a new alternative and tried the Gyration Air Mouse Elite, Cideko Wireless Air Keyboard, and finally found my perfect replacement in the Koolertron Air Fly Mouse & Keyboard.

First Things First:

I really liked my Gyration Air Music Remote, however, virtually ALL the buttons were essentially useless, save 3 critical buttons: the mouse Left, Right and Cursor-Float buttons -all 3 were laid out perfectly and easy to use with just my thumb. The ease with which I could wave the remote and move the cursor onscreen, coupled with the simplicity of the left, right and cursor-float buttons, made this remote invaluable to my HTPC experience. But, all the other buttons on the remote were essentially useless, and the LCD screen was much too small to serve any real function. Also, the remote was sorely lacking a scroll wheel which made surfing the web tedious and cumbersome. But there weren't any better alternatives, so I was happy to keep using my Air Music Remote until the right-click button broke, and I needed to find a replacement.

The Contenders:

Gyration Air Mouse Elite: At first I thought I would just buy a new Air Music Remote, but they've been discontinued; likely because the remote only had 3 useful buttons on it. So naturally, I decided to check out Gyration's latest iteration of their Air remotes. I tried the Gyration Air Mouse Elite for a solid month, but it just didn't work right. Gyration took 2 steps forward, 3 steps back on that one. I really wanted to like it, because I thought the onscreen keyboard and gesture commands to be a really nifty idea. Only problem was, nothing else on the remote worked properly, especially the all important cursor-float button. The cursor-float button was positioned underneath the remote, like a trigger. Not a bad idea, if only it would function properly. All too often, I'd have to click the trigger repeatedly, just to get it to register. Like the Air Music Remote, if you click and hold the cursor-float button, you can move the cursor around the screen, and then just let go to stop. If you want a free-flow cursor, just click the cursor-float button twice, and you can wave the cursor around the screen freely, without having to hold down the button. This is a crucial feature of any air mouse, and the Gyration Air Mouse Elite failed miserably in this regard. Single clicks were often registered as double, and I'd literally have to pull the trigger on the cursor-float button dozens of times to get it to disengage. With all due respect, it was like Katherine Hepburn trying to use that remote; the cursor would jitter wildly around the screen, and was a constant nuisance. The remote itself was designed as a table top mouse first, and a hand-held remote second. It's almost as if Gyration completely abandoned their revolutionary air mouse and it was more of an afterthought in this design. As a mouse, the Elite worked fine on a desk top, however, ergonomically it functioned horribly when hand-held. It was uncomfortable to hold, and unnatural to reach any of the buttons that needed to be used in conjunction. After using it for just over a month, Amazon agreed to issue me a refund, even though I was just outside of their return policy. Thank You, Amazon! What a relief it was to finally get rid of that piece of junk.

Cideko Wireless Air Keyboard: This was my next contender, but the remote has one critical flaw -the cursor-float button requires 2 hands to operate, making it needlessly tedious. I liked the idea of having a small keyboard right on the remote, but the cursor-float button is one that gets used a lot. So the poor design made me quickly reject this contender.

*Fanfare* ...Ta-Dah!

Enter The Koolertron Air Fly Mouse & Keyboard:

The first thing I noticed about the Koolertron Air Fly Mouse, is it had the exact same mouse left/right and cursor-float buttons as my old Gyration Air Music Remote. The next striking feature, was that it also doubled as a hand-held keyboard. And on top of that, it was half the price of that terrible Gyration Elite! I found a video for the Koolertron remote on YouTube, was instantly sold, and ordered off Amazon right away. When the remote arrived, I was very pleased that it functioned much like my old Air Music Remote, only this iteration had the benefit of a full keyboard as well. I instantly took to the remote, and it's been working perfectly for me right out of the box. Gyration could learn a thing or two about air remotes from Koolertron. This remote is comfortable in the hand, easy to use with just my thumbs, whether I'm just using the mouse buttons, or if I turn it sideways, and start typing with the keyboard. Gold Stars all the way around!

Who Needs A Scroll Wheel?

About the only thing I really liked on the Gyration Elite was the scroll wheel. It made surfing the web much more convenient when scrolling down long pages. However, like any scroll wheel, it was lacking in precision, and I often found it scrolling either too much or too little, and changing the settings in the Control Panel did little to help. On the flipside, Koolertron doesn't have a scroll wheel, which concerned me at first. But I soon learned that it has something waaaay better: Page Up and Page Down buttons, and also 4 arrow buttons. !! These buttons are far superior than any pesky scroll wheel. When I'm using my laptop, my mouse's scroll wheel gets a lot of use, however, when you're talking HTPC, Page Up/Down and Arrow buttons are far superior and faster to use. I can scroll down documents and web pages with speed and precision, like never before. Hold down any of those buttons, and it moves through pages at lightning speed. It's much easier than moving the cursor to the scroll bar, and then double-clicking the cursor-float button to drag the scroll bar up and down. This would be the advantage of Koolertron having a full keyboard on their remote.

Function & Media Keys:

The Gyration Elite had 4 buttons on the center of the mouse, 3 of which could be custom programmed; this would have been useful, if the rest of the mouse wasn't so tragic. By contrast, the Koolertron has a full keyboard with all 12 function keys across the top, and most of them double as media keys for email, music control, mute and volume control. Using the keyboard is a lot like typing a text message on your SmartPhone. The keys are soft to the touch, yet responsive and easy to use. I get NO skipped letters at all while typing, which even my full size wireless keyboard can't boast. It does take a bit of getting used to, because the keyboard is split in the center, where the mouse keys are. But I've taken to it quite quickly; and know that it will be indispensable.

Wireless Range:

The Koolertron has flawless wireless connectivity; I get no drop-outs or signal interruptions of any kind. And the USB transmitter is very tiny; you could easily plug it in to a laptop and just leave it there, even during transport, because it is so small. Perfect! On the flipside, the Gyration Elite, which costs twice as much, had constant signal interruptions, compounding the remote's already cumbersome operation; abysmal by comparison to Koolertron.

No Frills Packaging:

Clearly Koolertron came direct from China, which is fine with me. The packaging is more like Amazon's Frustration Free; just a plain box with the remote inside. It does come with batteries, which is a huge bonus, that a lot of companies have decided to scrimp on. The instructions are just a one page photocopy, but then there's really nothing complicated about using this remote. The USB transmitter is smartly housed inside the battery compartment, where it can easily be removed and plugged into your computer, or stored for travel. The Gyration Elite was rechargeable, and held a charge for about a week. However, it was a little quirky sometimes when placing it on the charging stand, and didn't always kick in and start charging without being coaxed.

No-Brainer Set-up:

For Koolertron, just plug in the USB transmitter and the drivers install automatically, and you're good to go. For Gyration Elite, you also needed to install their software, so that you could program the gesture functions; it was a nice gimmick that rarely worked properly.

Good Construction:

I've read other reviews that have complained about the "cheap plastic feel" used on the Koolertron remote. Personally that has not been my experience. The remote has a high gloss black finish, that looks like glossy airbrushed paint. Thankfully, there's no industrial smells associated with that. Maybe Koolertron took the other reviews to heart, and refinished the plastic housing for this remote. To me, it feels great in the hand, well balanced and comfortable to hold and use. The keys are cushiony rubber that feel good to the touch, and the remote does not feel cheap to me at all. By contrast, the Gyration Elite felt cumbersome in the hand, because it was designed as a desktop remote first, and it seems how it functioned while held in the hand was something Gyration didn't even bother to consider.

Shipping:

For some reason, there's been some talk about the Koolertron remote taking 4-6 weeks to ship. Mine shipped direct from Amazon, with the same delivery time as any of their products.

Bottom Line:

Sure, the Gyration Elite had a more polished presentation, but what good is that, if it doesn't work right? Form definitely didn't follow function. By contrast, Koolertron may not have all the slick packaging frills, but guess what? It works flawlessly. I love my Koolertron remote so much, I almost want to buy a second one, so I'm never without it. But I fully expect it to last me many years. And I'm quite happy that I found such a great alternative to my old Gyration Air Music Remote. Take notice, Gyration, Koolertron has kicked your butt with their Air Fly Mouse/Keyboard!

This is truly an exceptional product.

I had been looking at how to stick it to the cable company for some time by hooking my computer to my TV but encountered the inconvenience of having to get up all the time or have a wireless mouse & keyboard sitting on the coffee table. I searched high and low and low and behold I found this product. I was skeptical at 1st because there were no reviews anywhere for this product but it was just what I was looking for so I gave it a chance.

I was not disappointed. This thing works just as described and because it uses motion sense tech instead of reading positioning like a WII remote it's not as sensitive and jerky. It looks great and with windows 7 it was completely plug and play. Looks just like a remote. It does take some getting used to but I was off and running in no time. Highly recommend this product.

Buy Koolertron 2.4GHz Mini Wireless Air Fly Mouse/Keyboard Now

I bought this because it had some rave reviews and there is certainly a lot of potential with this device. You press on a button and the mouse pointer becomes active. As you move the remote like a pointer the mouse pointer moves with it. Once you let up on the button the mouse pointer freezes. So far so go. What hurts this device is the feel and sensitivity of the plastic and the buttons. The keyboard routinely misses key presses. Since I can't touch type on such a small device, I have to constantly look at the screen to see if the button press took and back at the keyboard to find the next key. Awkkkk Ward! Don't even bring up the concept of clicking and dragging on something to highlight or drag and drop...practically impossible.

I use this mini-keyboard remote for my HTPC and at the barest level it works...but the cost is too high for the feel and frankly I don't think it would hold up to much use. We'll see.

Pros: super easy to set up. Novel pointing mechanism for wireless mouse. Full QWERTY keyboard.

Cons: super cheap feel in your hand, poor quality buttons that often don't register, too expensive for functionality.

I picked this up for my HTPC. I've been using a wireless keyboard and mouse combo for awhile and they've become too cumbersome to have around. I ran across quite a few keyboard/mouse combo wireless devices here on Amazon but this one caught my eye. The mouse functionality is very responsive and works great. You simply point it ahead and either hold down the "mouse button" or double-click it to keep the mouse active and then you swing it around like a Wii remote. It has both left and right mouse buttons right where your thumb rests. Precision seems quite fine without fiddling with anything on Windows 7. The keyboard seems just fine and also responsive. Overall seems like a great deal.

Bottom line, if you are looking at similar devices, try this one first. No problems with annoying trackpads or mouse-balls. Just point and click.

Edit: I took a look at the specs on the Amazon page for this product and want to add my info. It does come with AAA batteries. It also comes with a very tiny USB receiver. Install was a simple matter of putting in the batteries, plugging in the USB receiver and it fired right up. Also ignore the shipping times as long as you order it as fulfilled by Amazon (the free shipping or prime option) it comes straight from Amazon.

Garmin Suction Cup Mount including speaker w/12V cable (iQue 3600 not included)

Garmin Suction Cup Mount including speaker w/12V cable
  • Use with Ique 3600
  • Attached to the window
  • Includes 12V Cable
  • Swivels and Tilts
  • Charges while operating

This mount works very well.

The iQue 3600 clips into the cradle and is held very securely (it won't release until you press the release button on the side of the cradle.) Look at the back of your iQue and you'll see two small rectangular holes--the cradle has tabs that fit into these holes which securely lock the PDA into place. Simply place the PDA onto the cradle and rotate backwards until you feel it "click" into place. I've never had my iQue fall out.

Power is supplied to the iQue via integrated power connector on the base of the cradle (the power and speaker connect automatically when you place the PDA into the cradle.) The cradle is connected to the vehicle's power via a cigarette lighter plug. This plug, in addition to power, utilizes an integrated speaker (with volume control) which routes all sounds (and voice prompts) through it. This is very nice, although the external speaker sounds just as "tinny" as the PDA's built-in speaker.

The suction cup mount works very well. Others here have complained that their suction cup won't stick to the windshield, or that it falls off easily. I too had the same problem until I moistened the surface of the cup with a wet finger. Once moistened, the suction cup stays put! Actually, now I have a difficult time getting the suction cup to release from the windshield!

I only have two complaints about this mount:

1. It seems a bit flimsy. It's made entirely out of plastic and I can see the plastic tab for the suction cup breaking if not used carefully.

2. If you're using an external antenna, it must be connected manually to the top of the PDA. Garmin should have included some type of integrated antenna connector in the base of the PDA (and mount) so that an external antenna would connect automatically by placing the unit in the cradle.

I've traveled frequently and carry my iQue 3600. I have gone through two of these units. I replaced the first one when the plastic portion of the tip of the power port connector broke off. It looked like a case of material fatigue. However I recommend caution on inserting/removing the connector in your vehicle's power port to ensure it doesn't break its tip. Easy does it with inserting/removing the power connection. On the second unit, the cam lock (on the lever that tightens the cup up on the windshield) has worn out through use and now won't tighten up enough to create sufficient suction to hold the mount against the windshield. I tried to find a way to adjust it using a shim but have not found a good solution. An adjustment capability to compensate for normal wear on the cam would help a lot. An alternate design which uses a screw mechanism to tighten the cup up against the windshield would be a big plus because cam wear wouldn't be a factor. Other observations are that on rental cars they often swipe the inside of the windshield with a cleaner that leaves a soap film residue which prevents a good suction cup seal. I usually have to wipe a spot clear to create a place where it will stick. Also in high summer heat if you've gotten the mount to stick to the windshield by moistening the inside of the cup (not much wetness is required) the heat may cause the moisture to evaporate out which then causes the mount to fall off the windshield. Finally, some windshields, for example, on the Chevy Trailblazer SUV, have a very slight curve to them that can be hard to see. So on those vehicles it can be hard to find a place to the left of the driver's vision where the mount will stick. In conclusion, I have used this windshield mount frequently and in general have had good experiences with it. It holds the iQue 3600 very securely in the holder itself. That is not an issue. However it could be improved if there was some way to get user feedback to Garmin.

I've used this mount for over a year now, and once I figured it out, I haven't a problem getting it to stick to my windshield. (Often it sticks too well.) When attaching the suction cup to the windshield, position the locking lever so that it is perpendicular to the windshield. Place the suction cup against the windshield, apply pressure with the lever still perpendicular, and while applying pressure, lock the lever. (It helps to make sure the windshield and suction cup are clean.) Using this method to apply the mount, I've have it stay on for weeks at a time and not come off until I needed to remove it. Once in a while the mount will come off in the heat, but cleaning both surfaces fixes that.

Also worth noting is the intermittent interference from my cell phone (I keep it about a foot away from the speaker and blame the cell phone for that). Otherwise this mount has worked perfectly and has been worth every penny.

I use this for my iQue 3600. Space in my vehicle is at a premium because it is a sporty model and this fits into a small space and locks securly with its suction cup locking feature. Great little item well worth the price.

I bought the iQue and this suction mount for my husband's birthday. I had a hard time deciding between the suction mount or the friction mount and am so happy I made the right choice.

I was a little concerned that the suction mount might obstruct the view out the front window but that has not been a problem at all. The mount has several joints and is very adjustable for any angle of windshield and can be placed in any position on the windshield.

I also never really trust suction cups to remain attatched and yet this one remains securely attatched on any window we have tried, including both of our own cars and in a rental. The suction cup is not just a straight lick it and smack on the window type. It has a lever thing that you fold down after pressing the suction cup to the window. The lever pulls the suction cup forming a tight seal.

The speaker is attached to jack part of charger that you plug into your cigarette lighter/outlet. Since ours is right above one of our cupholders, this slightly obscures the cup holder making it a little akward to use. It does fold some but not enough to completely clear the cupholder. Still this is a very small price to pay.

The speaker works great. It is hard to hear the iQue even at full volume over the traffic but when plugged into the charger/speaker it is plenty loud enough and we actually turn the speaker down.

Buying a car charger for the iQue makes it truely useful and choosing the suction mount turned out to be the perfect choice.

VuPoint Magic Wand Hand Scanner - Purple (PDS-ST415PU-VP)

VuPoint Magic Wand Hand Scanner - Purple
  • Features: Scanner for color & monochromatic images, documents, magazines
  • Sensor: A4 Color Contact image Sensor
  • Resolution: Standard Resolution: 300x300dpi (default); High Resolution: 600x600dpi
  • External Memory: Support Micro SD card up to 16GB (Micro SD card not included)
  • File Format: JPEG

I ordered one of these Magic Wand Scanners from a different company and the one I got did not work so I ordered this one instead. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that this one uses batteries instead of having a charger, but I am still very, very pleased with this product.

I was a little skeptical at first because I had no experience with a wand scanner. However, this product is perfect for what I need.I don't scan many things and I've only used it a few times so far, but the quality is great. The images were very clear. I really liked that this scanner is very easy to use and that it can scan as a pdf file, not just a jpg or jpeg.

I tried to scan from a book and that was a little bit more difficult and takes a bit more skill because the book was arched. Its just something that takes practice. Scanning loose leaf paper or smaller objects was very easy. I also liked that it had a USB cord to attach to my computer. This also comes with a small fabric case that you can keep the scanner in if you want to keep it in a backpack or just store it and avoid scratches.

Overall, for the price (I paid about $40 for it) I was very happy with my purchase

rooCASE Dual-View Multi Angle (Black) Leather Folio Case Cover for Acer Iconia Tab A510 A700 10.1-In

rooCASE Dual-View Multi Angle Leather Folio Case Cover for Acer Iconia Tab A510 A700 10.1-Inch Android Tablet Wi-FiAll things considered, this is a very nice case. Construction and materials are excellent. The 2 piece design (inner sleeve holding the tablet, outer folder doubling as stand and cover) is great.

The inner sleeve offers some protection for the tablet, particularly from wear caused by regular handling since it covers the places your fingers touch it the most. The typical hold when using the tablet 'freehand' is a one handed grip with one thumb on the front bezel and fingers on the back cover (while the other hand operates the touch screen), which requires a fairly tight grip that could wear down the non-screen areas over time. The sleeve design protects the tablet from such wear. It also provides some protection when placing the tablet on a less than clean surface (kitchen counter while looking at a recipe, outdoor table with a little dust/grit, workbench) whether face up or down. This makes it easier to integrate the tablet into daily activities that maximize it's utility as a tool rather than coddling it by limiting its use to protected environments. And the tablet slips in and out of the sleeve without trouble so it is easy to use it where the protection and weight of the sleeve isn't needed (reading in bed, for example).

The outer cover (which the inner sleeve is fastened to with velcro) gives the tablet the general feel and heft of a thin leather bound book, which feels good in the hand and protects the screen (not covered by the inner sleeve for obvious reasons). Using the cover as a stand works like most other covers, so I won't say more about that.

The ability to reorient the inner sleeve with respect to the cover/stand to position the tablet in portrait or landscape mode is great most covers that double as stands only work in landscape.

The only flaw I found was that the small circular holes in the inner sleeve which expose the front facing camera, light sensor and two microphones are all off center by a wide margin. No amount of wiggling or shoving can get the tablet to line up so that all four are in the center of the circular cutouts and not partially blocked. Not a big deal since the back facing camera, power button, volume button, USB port, HDMI port and headphone jack are not blocked at all. Unless the tablet is used extensively for video chatting or similar, the misalignment doesn't impact its use. The holes can be enlarged with a sharp knife or razor blade if necessary. Nevertheless, enlarging the holes yourself should not be necessary the holes should be properly positioned. I have to give the cover a 4-star rating as a result. If all the holes aligned as they should, this product would warrant 5 stars, in my opinion.

Update:

The tablet is easier to hold in some situations without the outer cover flapping around, and it fits better in the adjustable stand I use when at my desk or other work area. In a typical day, I might pry the sleeve from the outer cover 5-10 times a day. After a few months of this, I've noticed that the velcro doesn't seem to grip quite as tightly now. No surprise that's a lot of wear and tear, but something to be aware of.

I purchased this case for my Acer a700, the first case i got had the cut-outs misaliened. I contact the vendor and they sent me a new case and a prepaid mailer to send the defective one back. the new xase fit perfectly the case works great I would recommend this case to friends.

We own two of these for our Acer tablets, I bought the second one after receiving the firs tone and noticing what a great job it does. You can remove the tablet along with a felt protective inner shell tablet shell from the outer. You can then re-attach it to the outer shell and use it to support the tablet horizontal rather than vertical or visa versa shell, or just set aside the outer shell until you reattach for transport. In other words, the case can be used three different ways depending on your need. The leather outer shell is heavy duty and very attractive. Plus the cut outs for the cameras and control buttons are big enough to allow complete access to the various functions. If you are looking for a top of the line case for half what other cases cost, then this one should do the trick.

Wasn't sure what my tablet was to be honest... I knew it was an ACER 510, but not sure about the A or W. It doeas make a difference! The case was useless for me at least. The description states it works for the A510, but the photo seems identical to the W510. The holes for the cameras are just far enough off to make them useless when in the case, on the screen side the face is so wide you cannot swipe from any edge of the screen and the touch button on the bottom of the screen is inaccessible as are the speakers, headphone jack, power button, micro-SD card slot and HDMI mini ports. Now knowing that my tablet is a W510 and nopt a A510, I understand the difference and caution against this product for those who own a W510. I have never worked with an A510 so I cannot say whether or not this product is a good fit for it! The overall constructions and craftsmenship seemed top notch, I only wish it had fit my tablet.
