Ap 541N Wireless Access Point

Ap 541N Wireless Access Point
  • The cluster, managing your wireless network as a single system without worrying about interference between access points

Cisco had a lot of bugs with early firmware, since this is their first Linux based access point. However, if you run their latest firmware (1.9 as of this writing), the device is rock solid. I replaced some older 2.4GHz-only access points with the AP541N, and so far, it's been great. I'm running this in 5.0GHz mode (802.11a/n) due to local interference on the 2.4GHz band. Note that this access point, while claiming to be dual-band, has only one radio. This means that it can only operate one of the frequencies at any given time, so you can run it in 2.4GHz mode *or* 5.0GHz mode, not both concurrently. If you still have older 2.4GHz clients (802.11b/g), you will need to either run this AP in 2.4GHz mode, or run a second AP to support the second frequency.

For advanced users, this device has a couple neat features. First, it can run a number of SSIDs concurrently, each with different security models, and associate them with VLAN tags. On our network, that enables us to run a "Guest" network with limited access to resources, along side our "Internal" network. It can also replicate it's config to multiple AP541N access points within the same network, enabling you to manage them as a single mesh, without having to purchase the complex (and much more expensive) managed wireless infrastructures. FInally, it runs the Linux OS on a Cavium MIPS CPU, and has a full SSH daemon and busybox shell environment, so I'm sure there's some creative modifications that an advanced user could run on this access point.

Had a few minutes of trouble at first, but after upgrading the device to the newest firmware, this thing runs like a champ. I am considering replacing all of our old AiroNets with Cisco Ap 541N access points. It has been going solid for 4 months without a single blip.

Wi-Fi connectivity is very poor. Had this product for less than 20 days and it was enough to had it returned. Connection drops and low throughput are among the bad side of this device. Cisco could have done a much better job on this Security Appliance.

We wanted to move to 802.11n in the 5GHz frequency and ended up going with two of these in a busy medical practice. I love the fact that I only have to configure one unit and the other automatically updates its settings. We have had no performance issues and are getting ready to purchase three more once our new construction is completed.

I wish they made this with dual radio's so that I could run 2.4GHz for our guests and smart phones to use while the staff used the 5GHz with their laptops and tablets.

I purchased this unit to replace a Linksys unit which has limited range. The Cisco wireless access point was expensive but their promotional literature claimed a much wider range than other units. The Cisco unit works for a few hours then fails even when you are close by. To get it to function again I have to disconnect the power supply and reconnect. Even when it is running the data transfers appear to come in bursts with large pauses between. I recommend that people avoid this product. Indeed the device is so disgraceful that I am never again purchasing a Cisco product. Absolute garbage.

2.4GHz RF Wireless Keyboard with Smart Touchpad Mouse for MCE Media Center Edition

2.4GHz RF Wireless Keyboard with Smart Touchpad Mouse for MCE Media Center EditionThis was a purchase made two weeks ago now that I can't decide if I regret or not. The keyboard does work and works well a good range (10 feet room is not big enough to try farther) from the computer. The media keys work very well, the install was simple and efficient, and the touch pad calculator is bar none awesome.

However, not all the keys work consistently, I have a Logitech S 510 wireless desktop that I have had for two years and it never drops keys as far as I can tell. I do write quite a lot, thousands of pages a year not joking, so I am picky about my key board. I would never hold this item up to the same standard however dropping approximately one key in ten is not acceptable for typing more than a search into Google. There are days that the keyboard works better than others as well, which I just can't figure out.

I have no idea how fast it eats batteries, it still seems to work with the ones it came with two weeks later. Finding "home" on the key board is also rather difficult, for touch type'ers out there, as the razed points on the keys are rather weak all the keys feel the same. However in defense of this key board it is nice and compact feels sturdy and pushes keys together to make the whole contraption more ergonomic.

It also goes to sleep, wakes up with Esc key, which takes getting used to but might be saving batteries which I like.

Final verdict touch pad great, media buttons awesome, calculator key pad absolutely ingenious, and keyboard for "typing" sucks!

I bought this keyboard to use with my HTPC. I was in need of a wireless USB keyboard and mouse that was affordable and reliable. Having been using notebooks almost exclusively for the last five years, I have really gained an appreciation for the touchpad. I was so glad to find a low priced wireless keyboard with a touchpad built in. What's even better is that it supports a number of different gestures. I really like using two fingers to scroll and being able to quickly increase the text size from the pad.

I have been using it for a while now and it has been, for the most part, reliable. I was noticing a lot of dropped keystrokes but I thought that I was too far away from the USB dongle or something was obstructing the path. It has gotten to be quite annoying, though. I have to type much slower in order to avoid having to go back and edit every couple of words.

A previous review mentioned that it was hard to find home on this board. I hadn't thought of it like that but I agree completely. It took quite a bit of use before I finally started being able to type comfortably with this keyboard. It's like riding a bicycle; once you finally get used to it, it isn't bad at all. It was upsetting, though. I've never had that much trouble adapting to a keyboard.

My latest issue with this keyboard has really caused a great deal of frustration. For some reason, I am now unable to drag and select the way I used to. I can still make selections but it'll stop as soon as I lift my finger off of the pad. This makes it nearly impossible to select large masses of text; I can only select whatever I can drag over in one sweep since I can't reposition my finger. This also makes it hard to move files from one folder to another. I can barely put up with it now. I've started using a USB mouse in place of the touch pad for those times that I have a lot of copying to do. The touchpad still works for regular tasks like browsing the web, folders, and using XBMC, though. I'm not sure if the issue is related to a setting or of the hardware is starting to go out. I've looked through the software control options, tried new batteries, and repositioned my USB dongle; nothing has helped fix the issue.

On a positive note, the keyboard and pad worked right after they're plugged in. To use the advanced Smart Pad settings, you'll need the drivers but that's fine. I had some trouble with the Windows 7 64 bit drivers. The drivers on the disc for Windows 7 did not work. After I installed them, the mouse stopped working completely. I tried the Vista x64 drivers and that crashed my system. Luckily, I found some real Windows 7 x64 drivers and that fixed the problem immediately.

If I had reviewed this product a week ago, I probably would have given it four or five stars. After struggling with the drag/select issue, I'd have a hard time giving it more than a 3/5.

I didn't really stress the positive aspects of this board so I'll offer a bit of a breakdown.

+ Affordable

+ Wireless USB with decent range (great for systems without Bluetooth or where wired keyboards aren't practical)

+ Touchpad -perfect for using where it'd be inconvenient to have to use a mouse.

+ Awesome keyboard for HTPC use

+ Easy to get it working; You may need to search for and download new Windows 7 drivers, though.

+ Touchpad doubles as a number pad

+ The media keys and shortcut keys work well; quite handy!

Adjusting to the keyboard may take a while

Slight Windows 7 drivers issue (for 64 bit, at least) -easily fixed by a driver update, though.

Unacceptable number of dropped keystrokes

I'm having a horrible time with dragging/selecting (see above).

This really is a nice keyboard for those that need an affordable board for a home theater PC. If you do a lot of typing, you could probably do much better. I haven't tried all of the features that it has to offer but everything that I've tried has worked well enough. Only a few of the Smart Pad gestures are useful to me but they work as advertised. The media keys also work.

I hate giving this board a poor score because it has a lot to offer. However, given the trouble that I've had, I would only recommend it to people that can't afford to spend more. Even then, I'd encourage that person to save a bit of money and find something with proven reliability. If you do buy one, you'll probably like it. Even with the trouble that I've had, the keyboard is still usable. I am starting to look for something to replace it, though.

I bought this 2 months back and it's so cool that the wireless keyboard comes with a smart touchpad. It's very easy to install. I connected my notebook to my LCD TV and it just works great for me sitting from the couch. The only issue I faced was after installing Win 7, the smart touchpad wasn't working with the scroll and other finger features. Other than that, I just like this for the money I paid.

After receiving the product I anxiously plugged it in and tried it out.. Windows 7 installed the driver software.. It was working great, then I put in the installation disc that came with it "not recommended" The device stopped working.. I tried re-installing several times and also completely uninstalling all software and drivers.. Still could not get it to work again.. I had to do a system restore before the point where I used the disc that came with it.. It started working again right after the system restore.. SO DON'T USE THE DISC... Win 7 will find it and install within seconds... Other than that, when the board initially boots, the numeric lock key will be engaged, you'll need to turn it off to type.. I'm using the board about 15ft. away from my pc.. there has been no connection problems from this distance.. I'm very happy with the purchase..

PDair BX1 Brown Leather Case for Motorola XOOM

PDair BX1 Brown Leather Case for Motorola XOOMReally give this 4.5 rating. This is the second product that I have gotten from PD Air. The craftsmanship is excellent and the fit is way above average though for the price you would expect that. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 on this product is the design approach they used for my particular product (Xoom). I bought a case for a Acer a100 and it was 5 star both design and quality. Btw, order ed this the same day that I ordered my Xoom from long island. The case came from Hong Kong before the unit arrived!

Does smell of Neoprene but then again it is neoprene and new.

Has pockets for other stuff, not sure about cramming a power cord & mouse in it too.

But, I did just buy it for laptop protection while traveling.

Pandigital PANSCN08 Handheld Wand Scanner

Pandigital PANSCN08 Handheld Wand Scanner
  • Scan any photo, book or document up to 8 1/2 x 14 inches directly to the included MicroSD memory card or PC via USB connection
  • Easily create editable electronic files from scanned documents
  • No PC required, save directly to the MicroSD memory card
  • Perfect for use with photos, family recipes, kid's art, etc.
  • Images are scanned up to 600dpi and can be saved as JPEG or PDF files

This scanner is so nice and convenient to just have in my bag when I go to the library and want to scan articles in magazines or pages in books that cannot be checked out; in other words reference-only material. It does a pretty good job at scanning to jpeg or pdf but here are somewhat negative things to consider along with recommendations for dealing with them:

1. You cannot see the immediate results of your scan so you always wonder if you got all the stuff on the page you were trying to get. Yes it does have some little guide marks to help you but sometimes a page will crease a little creating a shadow effect on the scan. This is especially possible on very thin magazine paper. My recommendation is you always take at least two scans of pages. The other idea I haven't tried yet is to find a piece of clear plexiglass at a building material store to carry along and place over the pages which helps to make them flat and the scanner will roll more nicely also.

2. The battery is a non-standard rechargeable battery called a CNP-50. If you leave it in the scanner it will slowly drain even when the scanner is off. I remove it after it use and put it in the nice bag they include. You might want to find a spare battery here at Amazon or someplace else to charge and carry along also. By the way; someone else makes a competitor scanner like this that uses easy to find standard batteries; either AA or AAA size.

Collecting data and articles from the library with this thing has been great! The library charges a lot per copy when you have to copy books that can't leave the library and I've complained about this forever. My mom got me this scanner and its perfect. Saves me a lot of time and I can print the pages at home for way cheaper. And, I have pdf files saved so that I can reprint if necessary. Its been pretty nice. I have scanned with it, and yes it wasn't the most amazing quality, it worked and I have no complaints.

Great price on Amazon for this handy little scanner. Is easy to calibrate, just remember to push the tiny little sd card in until it clicks, otherwise it will not copy photo. Great with photos and for scanning pages. Can easily be taken with you if you wanted to scan photos when visiting friends/relatives or copying articles at the library, etc.

Want Pandigital PANSCN08 Handheld Wand Scanner Discount?

I got the handheld Pandigital scanner for Christmas last year and it looked great and worked well for the first few tries. It was quite effective until suddenly the scanner put up an error E05 message and would not scan again. I tried all kinds of things to get it to work, but nothing got it to scan. So I contacted their customer service line. I have not gotten any response from them. The service is too unreliable. And the product is broken. QVC sold thousands of them through their homeshopping network and you can go there to see the hundreds of negative reviews. These ones here may not be altogether trustworthy since Amazon doesn't have a clear history of selling these yet.

Buyer beware definitely with this company.

Not suited for scanning photographs at all. When rolling over the photo, it will bend the photograph's edges with its wheel. The scanned image is of very bad quality you lose all of the finer pixel detail. Apart from a poor quality image, the scanner leaves roll marks on the image.

Scanning documents the image turns out fuzzy, like a photograph taken of a document and not like a scanned copy of the document.

Also, I found it difficult to roll the scanner steady over the document without either accidentally folding the document or moving it. Even when it is held steady, it's not guaranteed that the image will come out exactly in the same proportions as the original. For example, with some photographs, one part of the photo was slightly larger, such as one eye on a photo.

Another major flaw is that it is hard to tell when the image is done. Once you press the scan key, when you are done it should increase the number of images on its display, but it sometimes does not, so I had to rescan the image and turned out that it appeared twice.

I would give it the smallest possible rating on amazon

Acer Aspire V5-171-6471 11.6-Inch Laptop (Silky Silver)

Acer Aspire V5-171-6471 11.6-Inch Laptop
  • Intel Core i5-3337U 1.8GHz with Turboboost Technology up to 2.7GHz
  • 6 GB DDR3 RAM
  • 500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
  • 11.6-Inch Screen, Intel HD Graphics 4000
  • Windows 8, 5-hour battery life

I really adore this mobile computer. I am a mobile person and the size is perfect for every day commuting and long-distance travel; it has a small footprint and can fit on any surface be it an airplane seat tray or a lap. The computer does not have a disc drive (which I think is a plus), freeing it to be made very thin; it is not Macbook Air thin, but still very thin. One of my favorite features is the touchpad. It recognizes Apple like gestures and is free from the casing, so that it can physically move up and down when pressed. This gives it a very responsive feel akin to the Apple touchpad. The keyboard has keys separated by the case molding. It is not a full size keyboard, but I find the Chiclet-like keys helps prevent pressing more than one key at a time when typing; it also looks very cool.

I like a fast computer and this Acer has a lot horsepower for its price range since it has an Intel Core i5, instead of a Core i3. This means it comes with Intel's Turbo Boost technology. I believe the Turbo Boost makes a big difference in a laptop where power consumption is directly related to battery life. Most of the time a lot of horsepower isn't needed, e.g. web surfing, so battery power is saved. But when you need to open or run a demanding program like MATLAB (you'll see I love MATLAB) then Turbo Boost really shines and everything will run faster.

I took this computer to another level by upgrading to a solid-state hard drive and highly recommend this. The SSD makes boot up incredibly fast. (Note about installing Windows via USB: Format a USB (>4GB) with FAT32. Then extract a Windows Installation ISO to the USB using 7-zip. Super simple :)(Note 2: or use Clonezilla to clone the Windows that ships with the drive onto the new one.). With this setup the computer is very snappy. The computer boots in about 5 seconds. MATLAB opens on my laptop faster than my desktops!

I did not want to spend more than $800 on a new laptop. This laptop perfectly fits my computing needs and wants without breaking the budget. I think it is as cool as a computer can be without being a Macbook, which this computer clearly used as an inspiration. I don't believe in spending top-of-the-line money for laptops, because the dollar goes further in a desktop and laptops don't have as much longevity due to wear and tear (I'm pretty rough on laptops. They get banged around in my backpack when I bike around or travel). However, being unwilling to spend enough can result in an impotent laptop: more than a Chromebook (which are awesome in their own way, but specialized), yet not quite powerful enough for doing more than surf the web, write docs, and make slides; having a computer powerful enough to run MATLAB (or a similarly demanding program like Photoshop) was important to me. The Aspire V5-171 has met my needs and surpassed my expectations. It represents a fantastic value: it combines computing power and great aesthetics into a very convenient and mobile form factor.

The only caveat I can think of is this is not a "gamer's" laptop. However, it has the best integrated graphics chip Intel offers and will play a lot of modern games on the lowest visual settings at decent frame rates.

Finally, there are a few miscellaneous features that further prove how this laptop is the complete package. In addition to an HDMI port, there is also a VGA port. I think it is great to have both, because there is now the flexibility of giving a presentation on an HD screen or an older projector without needing to tote around extra adapters. There is also a USB 3.0 port to help future proof this machine. Another nice unheralded feature is the power cord, which does not have a "Ghostbusters brick". Instead it has the adapter plug directly into the wall; this seems to have reduced the size of the power cord and represents to me less of a trip hazard. My only wish is that the power cord would connect to the laptop using a magnet ala Apple (the ultimate in trip prevention), but I don't mind so much because this laptop comes in at such a nice price.

I would give this laptop a Four except that its battery life is quite poor. After adjusting the power settings for minimum power, I have trouble getting more than three hours from it. Acer should have give it a larger battery. Acer doesn't have a larger battery available for after market either.

Want Acer Aspire V5-171-6471 11.6-Inch Laptop (Silky Silver) Discount?

Lack of backlit keyboard precipitated its return. Any laptop over $100 should have a properly backlit keyboard.

Nice machine, nice price, capable. But not capable enough. For something so small, the touchsreen of the S7 is a big plus. So is the lighted keyboard of the S7. We kept the s7 and returned the V5.

One thing better about the V5 is its better array of ports: VGA, RJ45, full-size HDMI, 2 USB 2.0 and 1 3.0.

Please listen, Acer: form must not preempt function, and pricepoint is irrelevant when it destroys usability.

I ordered this phone from Amazon to replace an old flip phone that broke. Great sleek design and nice interface. Only downsides so far are that it only saves 50 text messages in your inbox at a time without an sd card, and that Verizon has tried to charge me for using Backup Assistant. The phone, however, is a solid basic phone, no frills.

The first phone I received had a problem in that I could hear whoever I was calling, but they couldn't hear me. So I contacted the vendor and he sent another unit right out which works well enough. I say well enough because, through no fault of the vendor, Verizon changed its Get It Now feature in March 2011 and as a result, I can neither purchase new ringtones nor get the Backup Assistant for my phone.

This cover has all of the features of the official Apple cover. Contrary to other reviewers, I found the magnets to be strong and stable. The cover does not fall off when the iPad is held upside down.

The only real "problem" that the product has is that it doesn't always lay perfectly flat and the edging is slightly less than perfectly flat, but these are hardly noticeable issues and considering the price, completely acceptable.

The cover protects the entire surface of the screen and wakes and sleeps the iPad as you would expect it to. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Love this case cover!! Works great and will even fit in a slip case!! Product came in quickly and was a great price!!

I can store my tablet and the charger in the case, and there are inside pockets for storing additional things like an extra battery for my tablet, as well as the outside pocket. There is both a regular type handle and a shoulder strap, which I usually use. Very happy with this case for my tablet.

After using this card for one day, it crashed and was completely inaccessible to any card reader or camera. I lost about 100 important photos. Usually when this happens, you can recover the data using some of the various SD recovery programs online, but because this card was completely "dead" I couldn't even access the card at all. I researched online for a bit and many other people have had problems with this brand of card. I would only recommend this if you don't mind losing important photos or data.

Chapin Premier Poly Sprayer

Chapin 26021 Pro Series Poly 2 Gallon SprayerMy husband cuts grass for a living on the side of his main job. He has used every sprayer on the market from the big box stores. None of them lasted. He loves these sprayers and has them in two sizes. Hasn't had to replace one yet and has owned them for at least 3 years!

I expect I'll be using this sprayer for many years. It's commercial grade in every respect. Heavy duty and very well made. Spray options are somewhat coarse compared to other sprayers I have. Oh, I have never seen a sprayer of this grade or quality in the garden or hardware stores.

I have only used this sprayer twice, but so far I am very impressed. Everything about it looks and feels quality-made. I was quite honestly expecting less, but from the heavy duty hose and comfortable rubber coated handle (doesn't feel like a toddler toy) to the smooth and solid pump action, this thing feels as if was made to last! I didn't really need an all metal unit so this model works perfectly for me, and the price was really good considering the quality. Spray wand has a removable angled end which has already proved itself useful. The pump unit tightens securely without needing a pipe wrench and removes with minimal effort. The relief valve is also handy.

I used to spend as much (or more) on sprayers from home improvement stores, and they typically lasted about one season. The last one was so cheesy that I couldn't wait until it stopped working just to throw it out (the pump leaked air no matter how much I tightened it and then it was nearly impossible to remove, handle leaked and so on...). Now I actually don't mind using a sprayer once again. I probably bought one a year for the last 8 years and if my expectations are correct, this sprayer is going to be around for a while. It's a very good value.

I ordered this sprayer due to it's 3 gallon size and previous experience with Chapin sprayers. All the parts are good quality. The long wand and tubing are helpful in reaching areas without having to actually walk all the way over to them. However, the sealing surface on the top of the tank is not flat. I had issues with getting a good seal and had to clean up the sealing surface with a knife. It still requires a very tight cap to make it seal. Getting the cap off is a chore because there is nothing to hang on to so you can get some leverage to get it off. I don't really like to bear hug a tank that may have herbicide residue on it. I would give this 5 stars, if they had paid more attention to the sealing surface and put some grab points on the tank.

I have had several sprayers that quit working after one or two times. I also had to pump them often. This sprayer is very easy to use. and it is a good size. I used the flat spray nozzle on my patio to get rid of moss. It did a better job than I expected!

SINGER SteamWorks Pro Garment Steamer

SINGER SteamWorks Pro Garment SteamerSinger's SteamWorks Pro steamer is just amazing, so lets get down to it.

Assembly was fairly straight forward and took about five minutes to unpack everything and get it all put together. So the instructions get an A+.

To start off I filled the tank with filtered water (they recommend distilled water obviously) and slid in onto the base, flipped the machine on, waited about a minute and steam was shooting out so it was time to start steaming!

Using it for the first time, let alone a garment steamer for the first time, was an experience. I started with some drapes that had recently been washed but not ironed. A few passes with the steamer took every last wrinkle out of them! It actually surprised me because infomercials have really ruined my expectations on steamers as they seem to over glorify them.

Next up was a button up work shirt. Using the folding hanger and the garment clip bar to hold the shirt, a minute of going over the shirt made it look like it had been freshly pressed! Just amazing with so little effort.

The SteamWorks Pro steamer works flawlessly on everything I've tried it and it uses VERY little water.

Now there are a few things that I would consider minor flaws.

* First of all there is a LOT of plastic and it's not the heavy duty feeling ABS plastic. The pole clasps that are on the telescopic pole (these are what you use to lock the pole at different heights) are made of plastic and I am honestly waiting for one of them to break and prevent me from collapsing or extending the pole.

* I find the steamer hose a little bit too short and too stiff. When you are using it, the hose does become more pliable when heated up. Not a huge issue.

* The drain plug doesn't completely drain the unit and requires you to tilt it. They really should have designed it better so you didn't have to do this.

* Even when fully collapsed the unit is 32" tall. If you are like me, I have no room to store stuff like this and am resorting to having it just sitting in my room.

* No storage for the accessories. Now I have to find a place to put these bits and pieces.

* No handle, so I am unsure where I can grab to move/pick up the unit. It also doesn't roll on carpet or carpet with rugs very well.

These are all really nitpicky flaws, none of which detract from how well the unit works/functions.

For how well it works and the price, you really can't beat this garment steamer!

Pros:

Works and works very well.

Uses very little water and doesn't saturate the garment.

The accessories and nice, especially the handheld steaming board and space age oven mitt (seriously, it comes with a protective glossy silver oven mitt!).

Easy to operate.

Easy to put together.

Somewhat compact and collapsable.

Produces steam within a minute of turning it on.

Cons:

Fairly bulky, need to find a place to store it when not in use.

Drain plug doesn't completely drain the unit.

Tons of plastic! Only time will tell how well it will hold up to being used.

Has no storage for it's accessories.

If you are looking to replace your iron with this steamer, or any steamer, stop looking. A steamer will never get a dress shirt looking the way an iron will. But, this steamer works great on items that you cannot iron. For example, I have a jacket that is dry clean only and it was very wrinkled. This steamer worked great getting out the wrinkles. I also have a dress that is hand wash, hang to dry and it cannot be ironed. It looked like a wrinkled mess after washing. In no time at all the steamer removed the wrinkles and made the dress look great. It does heat up instantly! There is no wait time at all. It has a place to hang the garment while steaming, which is a big help.

This steamer works great on those few items around my house, but it will not be replacing my iron any time soon!

Buy SINGER SteamWorks Pro Garment Steamer Now

A solid product that produces a good deal of steam in a short time. Saves trips to the cleaners and works well, although I have not tried steaming any large articles like it claims to handle. May be a bit out of place in an apartment with limited storage area if the user intends to keep it available for frequent use. Easy to put together and holds a nice amount of water. And the tank is removable, making it simple to fill for use.

The directions are easy to follow and accessories make it possible to use often and in a variety of ways. The pole is adjustable and it comes with a convenient hanger that allows for multi angle use. The system automatically shuts off when the tank is empty as a nice safety feature.

A great accessory that can be used by anyone who may have trouble using an iron and board to keep clothes fresh and neat.

Added later after initial review: Now that we have used this for awhile, two minor problems should be corrected. The wheels on the base need a lock of some kind to hold the unit stable when in use. Also, a longer power cord would help. Depending on where your wall outlet is located, the length of the cord may limit where the unit is used. Still 4 out of 5 stars.

My wife and I spent quite some time shopping for a new steamer before we chose the Singer SteamWorks Pro. We've had two other models previous to purchasing the Singer, and we were hopeful that the features and price-point would be a good balance, but that hope became a pipe dream shortly after we started to use it. Within a week, the steamer would go into thermal shut-down after about 3 minutes of use. Then it would cycle on and off while in use. No, the hose wasn't kinked, or blocked. It just flat out would shut down after generating copious amounts of steam. What made it worse is that the power switch was intermittent, and would not shut off reliably, making it not only a pain in the rear to use, but a definite safety hazard. Within a week we knew that this unit needed to go. Fortunately, the seller gave us no grief and refunded our full purchase price including the shipping. We used that money towards a Rowenta, which works great and has the build quality that we expected.

Bottom linethis Singer is a lousy product is shouldn't even be a consideration unless you're looking for a hassle and a safety hazard.

I typically do not write a review on a product unless I am compelled to do so by my totaly and complete satisfaction. The Singer steamer is amazing for the price the qaulity is better than I expected. The steam it produces is very impressive! I do not use the hangers that it came with, however I do use the pad and the handy cuff and collar accessory. I just use my own hangers it just seams less cumbersome. I have used other steamers commercial and home models. The singer has the home steamer price however it delivers on a commercial steamer level. If you are thinking about purchasing this steamer think no more. You will be definatley satisfied with it's performance, price and looks.

I previously purchased a stylus that was supposed to be "universal", but it wouldn't work on my Lenovo tablet. I was hesitant to try another one, but decided to try this one. It is great. Using the keyboard on the little tablets is often hit and miss with just your fingers, but this little stylus does the trick.

My plastic carrier broke and my blackberry always received the brunt of the damage if

it didn't clip in all the way. There is no noticeable size difference from just having the blackberry snap into the plastic. This carrier provides maximum protection with a great clip to holster your product. It is constructed well, I wish I learned about this item sooner.

  • Rechargeable Lithium Polymer Battery

I wanted to like this but can't. Didn't buy it here but this is what I discovered: This small version of the Vupoint handheld scanner (also referred to as magic wand jr.) uses a 4.2 V rechargeable polymer battery that's impossible to replace. Mine came with a dead battery that won't charge. Called Vupoint who instructed me to mail it back to them and they'd replace the battery for me. I searched high and low for someone online who sold these and guess what? Nobody sells them. I chose to return the scanner and purchase the larger model which takes plain old AA batteries.

The product was smaller than I expected but works well. The install for the software went flawlessly. I would have thought that it would have some on board memory but I am sure excluding it keeps the price down. Over all I am satisfied with this purchase.

Not bad at all.

Coloration is far from perfect but quality of B&W receipts and invoices is a great.

Resolution, contrast is good. Had no problems with scanning tempo.

Really compact and light. For the money I think it is a good buy,

(as long as it keeps working of course)

P.S. Connects as a mass-storage to mac. No software needed.

I think it's worth buying considering its price. What's more important is that it works very well. Sometimes there appears a black thin line on the scanned image, but when you clean the class of the scanner, it is gone. I am still using it.
