eForCity Black Leather Case Cover Compatible with Amazon Kindle 3 / Keyboard

eForCity Black Leather Case Cover Compatible with Amazon Kindle 3 / KeyboardI just purchased a Kindle 3 (keyboard) and wanted something to protect it when it was laying around or in my bag. I also found that in certain ways the kindle is a little awkward for me to hold since it is so thin as compared to the grab area around the screen (maybe my fingers are just too long or something). Plus I do sometimes drop things so I wanted to make sure even if I was using the kindle it would have a little protect if it slipped. This cover accomplises all that and for a cheap price.

Now this thing isn't going to win any fashion show but it looks ok and seems solidly built and protective. The stiching is ok, you can see the locations where things were started and stopped and such thats why no fashion show but the stitching seems to be strong with no loose ends. The material is pleather and you can tell but not in a bad way. In fact at a glance its not much different than the more expensive brands. It is definitely worth the super cheap price. I may have been willing to pay $9-$10 but I definitely wouldn't have paid $15.

The flap is held closed by a weak magnet in the flap and attracted to a bit of metal under the cover leather, neither can be seen. It holds fine even when flipping it around besides I don't really want a strong magnet near electronic stuff. The Kindle is held in by a full edging of leather with cutouts for the buttons and keyboard. Yes the top is open so you can slip the Kindle in but mine fits nice and snug and passed the shake out test. My Kindle didn't budge. So I think it is nice and safe. You may stretch the leather a little and loosen it up if you take the kindle in and out but I don't see the reason to do that. The space around the keyboard is sufficient to reach all of the keys. It is a little close near the joystick button area but not a problem. I do much prefer this way of holding in the Kindle than the other case that only use the four corner bands. Those would probably be better if you are going to take it out of the case often but since I plan on leaving it in its nice little home I want it secure.

Finally I like the slightly thicker feel of the Kindle in the case. It does add a little heft but not really noticeable unless you are looking for it. I feel that the Kindle is much easier and comfortable for me to hold now that the thickness has been increased. I will also say that I purchased from Eforcity. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but reading other reviews it seems like others had other experiences with their cases with different closures etc. The only reason I tried them was from another good review and I hoped it would be the same experience for me, which it was. Your mileage may vary but I figured I would mention it since there are several different sellers listed.

All in all I would say it isn't perfect (hence the missing star which I deliberated) but you won't find anything better for such a low price and in fact in many ways I feel this case would give the more expensive ones a run for their price. (maybe I should have given the 5th star???) Definitely would buy again and recommend to others.

Researched for a bunch of covers, very much satisfied with this one !!! Pretty much worth the price Nice product.

This was a better product than I expected for the really low price. It works just fine, fits onto my Kindle perfectly. The magnetic closure tab can be folded back out of the way when using.

Though it wasn't as costly as many others I looked at this Kindle case makes my little reader look important. The tablet slips in easily from the top and won't fall out. There are cutouts for the screen and keyboard, of course, as well as access at the bottom for the on/off switch, USB port, etc. A clever magnetic tab holds the case shut and will even hold it open if the front flap is folded back around. There is no light but the case is thin enough for one to clip on. Having bought it and used it I'd easily buy this case again.
