I found the converge on a random tech website that rants about new trends, and I can definitely see the converge taking off as something everyone has at home. Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons I found while using it (about 3 weeks at the time of writing this)

pros:

sturdy as hell:

I've sat on this thing by accident and it still works without any problems. It supports my ipad without so much as a creak from the support.

beautiful:

kudos to the designer. The glossy finish and glowing led have a very apple-esque feel to it

charges:

pretty important for these kind of products to actually do what they promise, and the converge does not fall short here. There is pretty much no difference between charging the devices individually and charging them on the converge.

Interestingly enough, the converge provides a little patch of space in its "s" shaped design that can hide away cords very nicely

it's a lot bigger than the pictures show. I can easily fit an ipad, HTC Desire HD and 2 ipods on here at once without a problem

I bought it for the original $59.99, so I guess seeing them knocking $20 (33%) off the price is pretty great, but it does mean the original buyers lose out a little. Oh well, can't complain.

only has US adaptor (at least when I bought them):

I live outside the US and though i can use my own adaptor, it does make it a bit clunky and less portable than i would like

As an iOS developer I've wondered for a long time why no one has made a docking station for multiple devices. I usually have three iOS devices hooked up at once to my Mac. Finally discovered the Quirky docking station and it is almost perfect. The only additional thing I could add would be a USB hub so all of my devices can be hooked up to the Mac, vs. just external power. Now I still have three cables snaking across the desk, until I get around to mounting a hub on the back of the station.

Note that the way the little rubber slot is designed along the shelf where the cables come through, any unused space can be used to stick pens in. Also very handy.

I had been looking forever for a stand that could charge 2-4 USB devices at once. This one will charge an iPad, which not all of these will, but it will not charge two iPads simultaneously, and it gets complicated to add more than one smaller item (e.g., iPhone or Kindle) beyond an iPad. It just needs a bit more power to be useful. It takes 4 USB cables, so it should, theoretically, be able to charge four devices, but I don't think that is possible for all but the simplest/smallest devices. The problem is that the devices just don't charge, and it and the devices do not exactly make that clear. They start out thinking that they will charge, but they will not...

It is attractive, but because I have to play musical chairs with the devices, the cables always get loose out of the back, so its convenience vs. attractiveness does not mesh perfectly. Anyway, it is the closest thing I have found to what I desire, but it just needs more power...

I don't regret the purchase; I still use the device. I just cannot recommend it for people that need a lot of juice. This charges one iPad and one iPhone well, and that has saved me a bit of space; it is just not perfect...

I purchased this item to have a docking station for my iPad 3, HTC One smartphone, iPod Nano 5th and charge a digital camera all at the same time. I liked the clean design, cord management and 4 USB charging ports. After unboxing and using it, this is what I like and dislike about the product.

What I like about the Quirky Converge Docking Station:

1. The Quirky Converge has clean, asthetically pleasing lines that shoudl commpliment almost any decor. Easy to wipe off and about the same length as a ruler and only about 5" tall and deep it works for me.

2. You power it up and easy can charge 4 USB driven devices with 4 USB 2.0 ports on the back of the unit, hidden from view when looking at the dock straight on.

3. There's a rubberized area on the front of the unit which prevents slippage of most of your items when docked.

4. Cords are somewhat hidden from view.

5. Size is just right for multiple smaller devices to be docked and charged at the same time.

What I think could be improved upon with the Quirky Converge:

1. There is a vertical area in the middle of the front of the unit, which allows cords to slip through and can hold them in place. I wish there were 4 of these or at a minimum 2 of them.

2. Cord management exists, but it could be better with the addition of some sort of anchor for the cords. As it is, you try to neatly bundle them and need to find something to tie long cords up a bit or you end up with a mess of USB cords snaking around aimlessly.

3. I would add a rubberized backing to the front of the unit instead of just below. I decided not to use this for my iPad (in or outside of the cover), as while it could be docked, I felt it was too slippery; even with the rubberized bottom, to secure it properly when charging more than one device (crowding the dock).

What I didn't like about the Quirky Converge:

1. Price is too high. Ideally, under forty is what you should pay for this one with USB 2.0 versus 3.0 (newest and fastest) connection.

2. Tough to bring the cords through the rubberized pass through on the front. You have to leave about 2-3" of cord out to get your item docked, and then have to figure out how you will place your items on the dock so as not to put undue stress on the cords potentially breaking them.

The Quirky Converge Docking Station is verstatile in the sense that if it charges with a USB port, you can use the Quirky to charge it. However, unless you have very short USB charging cords and (4) small devices like iPods, cameras and smartphones, you won't be able to dock them in such a way that it looks all neat and tidy without significant effort.

You can get an iPad and smartphone docked at the same time, but you may want to take your iPad out of its case to do so and make sure it's securely on the dock.

It's OK, and I'm sure I'll use it, but it could be improved upon with a few tweaks by the manufacturer.

NOTE: RE iPad Charging USB charging is not recommended for iPad 3 or 4 (current version). Thus this charging dock is best for the original iPad and iPad 2. Yes, it will charge 3rd and 4th generation ones, but very, very slowly. AC charging is the recommended method for those versions.
