I bought this lead pointer, because my previous one is a Berol Turquoise 14 which is still going strong after almost 20 years, but may decide to call it quits one day. Prior to the Dahle 301, I had bought a Staedtler rotary pointer (made in China, just like the Dahle), which I gave up on and threw away because it continually broke leads when sharpening. The Dahle 301 is efficient (sharpens well with no breakage) and agreeable to use. Although the axis onto which the black cap fits is made of plastic and not of metal like in the Berol, the turning motion is nevertheless smooth and even. A fitting replacement for an old workhorse.

All i can say is bummer on this product, didn't work worth a hoot, made in china................ figures it was made crappy!
