  • Interior pockets for storing business cards, notes, and papers; and a loop for pen/pencil storage
  • Non-leather material is animal friendly!

My dad bought me a Nook Tablet for my birthday. Additionally, he got me a 1 year membership with Barnes and Noble, but this membership excludes discounts towards Nook items (boo!). I was initially bummed, but after seeing their sparse selection of flimsy, overpriced Nook cases in store, I decided to turn to Amazon where I found this one. I liked the simplistic design on the cover because it doesn't scream, "Steal me! I'm bright and beautiful!" Rather, it looks sophisticated and clean just like the Nook Tablet does itself.

The package arrived 2 days before the "Estimated Delivery Date" which was a surprise. A pleasant one indeed! It was packaged in plastic along with other items I ordered. Anyway, the outside has a canvas-like material go pet your mom's canvas bag she uses for groceries. It feels kinda like that. I admit, the canvas-like material makes me a little nervous cause I feel like it'd be difficult to get a stain out so I try my best to keep it away from any coffee spills and such. The inside is simply made of brown leather and the case hugs the Nook Tablet great while leaving all the buttons and ports accessible. The case also doesn't impede any view of the screen leaving me to say it is well designed. There's a plastic pocket on the opposing interior side where I just place my Barnes and Noble membership card. There's also a bigger pocket behind that plastic pocket that you can put receipts or little papers. The case itself doesn't add much bulkiness or weight to your Nook Tablet, either. All in all, the case is sturdy and I feel confident that it will do it's job well by protecting my Nook Tablet and prolonging its beauty.

I have two favorite features on this case that the cases in the Barnes and Noble store did not have: 1) a slit in the back for the speaker to blare out of I don't know how the sound of the Nook would be without this slit. Probably kind of muffled? 2) There's two magnets that allow the case to lock shut when I put it in my bag. This gives me peace of mind that the case won't open when I put it in my bag and therefore nothing in my bag can scratch the screen on accident. The magnets aren't super strong so you aren't having to pry them apart with all your might, but it's strong enough where I don't have to worry about things in my bag being able to wiggle themselves between the case to do damage to my Nook Tablet. Unfortunately, there are no magnets when you flip the case on itself (i.e. when you open up the case to use the Nook Tablet), but you don't really need magnets, anyway. At least I don't think so I'm usually holding my Nook Tablet so my hand acts like the magnet that holds the flap back. It was these two features on this case (along with the clean exterior design) that sold me. I knew that whatever case I bought would be a one time investment (or so I hope!) and these two features are a must for me since I plan to take my Nook tablet with me whenever I anticipate boredom.

Considering you pay about the same price (or more!) for cases at BN.com or in the store, I would definitely recommend you to just consider going with JAVOedge instead. Maybe not this specific design, but JAVOedge has other identical items with a different exterior design and color scheme. I got free shipping and two very lovable features you won't find in any of the Barnes and Noble cases (and other cases you find here on Amazon!).

I am very happy with my new JAVOedge Nook cover! It fits perfectly and looks great. Functions very well. Much better than all the covers I looked at at Barnes and Noble.

I love the feel of this cover. Its lightly padded to give you a little security, while being light enough to comfortably hold in one hand. My nook fits snuggly in the pocket and doesn't feel like it will slip out like others have said. This is exactly what I was hoping for.

This Nook Color book case fits the tablet well and has a slot on the back so the speaker isn't muffled. It protected my Nook on three weeks of travel in various bags, and I like the understated design.

There are a few problems with quality. The stitches that hold the stylus-storage elastic cord started tearing at its stitches at first use. The Nook slips out of the case when it is held upside down (fixable with a Velcro tab on the back of the Nook and inside the case). And, as another reviewer said, the fabric picks up dirt easily; I haven't tried washing it yet, but a gentle hand wash ought to work, despite the leather.

I thought that in the picture, the wave pattern looked like black on khaki, but upon receiving this case, I realized that it's definitely a dark brown on khaki. I still like it, though!

It's definitely still a good case, at a much better price than you can find for comparable cases at BN.

If anything, it could be about an eighth of an inch taller. Right now, my Nook sits almost level with the top of the case, if not a little higher, and it'd be great if it came up a little more. In reality, though, I don't anticipate it being a problem at all, it's mostly just a preference.

I love the interior pocket, which I use for a small notepad (there's even a place for a pen in the center!), although you can't keep anything too thick in it without interfering with the magnetic closure. It's a case, not a folder, basically.

Overall, a good product for the price.
