I then discovered that you can fix this with a Windows Bluetooth setting, "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power." This is checked by default. I unchecked it; no more skipped characters. Bliss.
I like that the keyboard is lightweight but fairly rigid, which is good for typing when you are not at your desk.
The main annoyance now is that I can't turn it off without removing the batteries! There is a small button that is meant to double as on/off and pairing (hold down for pairing mode). However, while this seems to turn the keyboard on OK, it doesn't turn it off for me. So if I pop the keyboard in my case with the slate on Sleep, keys get pressed accidentally and bad things happen.
In actual use though, this is a great keyboard. I've had keys get slightly stuck down, but they have popped back to normal easily enough.
TimPlease do not buy this keyboard. There must be some intermittent manufacturing defect with these keyboards. I am a physician who is trying to use this for electronic medical records. About half of my key exhibit the same behavior mentioned by two other reviewers on Amazon. The key will tilt to the right and you must stop and push down on the higher side to get it to pop back into its slot in the keyboard. It is annoying and precludes rapid acuurate data entry. I called Samsung twice and they REFUSED to honor the warranty simply stating that there is no warranty for that type of problem. My keyboard was delivered March 6, it is now May 15. I actually only started using the keyboard about two weeks ago so it really was that way from the beginning. Now I'm stuck with a barely functioning keyboard. Please Please do not buy this keyboard. You will be playing a lottery. Obviously some people are getting perfectly functioning keyboards and I will admit that if it werent for the sticking issue I would be happy with it. If you get a bad one they WILL NOT REPLACE IT. Personally, I will never buy another samsung product ever since I have no idea if this is the same way the back up there other warranties.

I brought 4 of these with 4 Samsung Slates. It would seem that half have some sort of defect. If you press evenly on some of the keys, they will half pop off. Pressing firmly on the affected side will allow it to go back to normal, but I find my self doing this all the time while typing. I have just started to use a normal USB keyboard in the office. Don't buy these, they are very over priced and cheap.Read Best Reviews of Samsung Series 7 Bluetooth Compact Wireless Keyboard Here
Keyboard is stylish and light weight. However, after about 1 month of use, I had a key break. Samsung said it is not under warranty but would replace it.Want Samsung Series 7 Bluetooth Compact Wireless Keyboard Discount?
Expensive and connectivity to slate is clumsy and cumbersome. I would not recommend this to anyone and there are much better alternatives from logitech and other manufacturers.
