UPDATE:

After I posted the below review I entered a complaint with the vendor via Amazon. They responded very promptly and offered to send me a new (improved) unit immediately. I received the new charger, it is a newer model than the previous one. I plugged it in my jeep today, it worked fine. I tried with the car running as well as in accessory mode. I left it in all day, seems ok. So I will upgrade my rating from a 1 star to a 4 star. If it keeps working for at least a few months maybe I will give it 5 stars. It is a very nice looking unit and was reasonably priced. Given the way the vendor has handled this, I will recommend it as a good buy.

I bought this awhile back but hadn't used it till today. I went out of town and on the way back my TFT101 battery was low so I plugged it in using this bullet charger in the cigarette lighter. The blue light came on and the tablet showed it was charging. After maybe 15-20 minutes, the tablet again said the battery way low. I looked and it showed that it wasn't charging. I unplugged/replugged tried everything to make sure it was connected good. The blue light on the charger was still on, but the tablet was not getting charged.

When I got home, I tried it with the wall charger and it the tablet works fine. Too bad, this looked to be a very nice product at a good price. I am disappointed and will try to return to Amazon if it hasn't been too long since I bought it.

Buy NTK tf 101 12v 2.0 a mini bullet style car charger for asus eee transformer tablet new Now

I bought this item and when I used it my Asus Transformer would not start. I had to send it back to Asus for repair (which they did free of charge except for shipping). I can't explain how it happened only that it did happen. Maybe the polarity or something is reversed.

Never ceases to amaze me how people miss the small details and complain a product doesn't work. Sure sometime there's a dud but plugging a 5V device into a 12V adapter is simply a user error. That said, they probably should NOT have provided the USB output and just had a direct cable attached. However it does handle the existing ASUS cable so that means you can save a few dollars. I like that feature.

Mine works fine. I had read so many negative feedback and I was somewhat cautious even when I plugged it in. So much that I even used a voltmeter to make sure it was putting out the correct voltage on the correct pins. Mine was wired correct and works great.

The thing I like the most is the model I got had the flat front with the grab handle to remove from the lighter. I like that but I notice the new picture this week has a different design.

It sounds like the manufacturer has had some issues from others feedback which rightly will make people cautious but this one works fine so far.

For those unfamiliar, the standard AC ASUS charger looks like a USB 2 and does put out a 5V for standard USB cables plugged in, but with the ASUS cable, the AC charger changes the voltage up to 15V 2A which is ideally what the ASUS tablet needs. So this DC car charger outputs 12V 2A which is enough to charge the ASUS while it's operational but it takes a little longer.

Obvious point though, don't plug ordinary 5V USB style devices into this DC 12V Car adapter, you'll blow them for sure. I keep mine with a little pouch of ASUS accessories as the adapter itself is small which I also like.

I received my first adapter in October, and I could not get to charge my TF101 in any vehicle. I contacted the vendor who said he'd gladly refund the purchase. He also said that he was working with the manufacturer to fix the problem. I received a replacement in January, and the new adapter works just fine in my Toyota pickup. So, I'm happy.

I am in Australia so bought two of these units in case something happened to the first one (like I mean I lost one or something, I wasn't being pessimistic, not at that point). Anyway, opened the first one, plugged my Asus TF101 in and plugged the charger into a 12v socket, blue light came on but the tablet indicated no charge. I left it on for about half an hour just to see if it worked but no it didn't. So I opened the second one, exactly the same thing. I tried both chargers in three different 12v sockets over two different vehicles. I also tried several other usb devices for the same result. If you want to pay for essentially what is a pretty little blue light sticking out of your 12v socket (and absolutely nothing else) go right ahead and buy this. Otherwise, look elsewhere for a product that actually works and doesn't rip you off. I will contact the seller and see what happens from here.
