Exactly what I wanted and more! I didn't have an input in my dash for me to plug my phone into so I had to get a transmitter. Works like a charm! I was worried because I already have the phone stand on my dash so I can use my Droid X for navigation and I thought I might have to use my backseat lighter socket (or get a splitter)if I wanted to use both navigation AND transmit radio from my phone. But this totally works perfectly because this transmitter comes with a charger built in. I simply fit the phone onto the navigation stand and connect the charger and the transmitter to the phone and I can play music and get directions through my car speakers. Happiness!

I don't ever review anything but felt it was such a shame that this product doesn't have 100's of 5 star reviews. This product fit my needs exactly. Moto Droid X, no stereo plugins for devices in my car, and Chicago's packed FM dial. Charge and transmit at the same time with one of only 2 FM transmitters I have owned (5 total with various phones & iPods) that is actually powerful enough to work in the city where there are ZERO open frequencies.

For anyone in Chicago who may be considering this device, my daily commute is up and down Lake Shore Drive surrounded by the radio towers on top of the buildings downtown and it works. Can be a little static-y at times, but the signal improves rapidly as you get away from the Loop.

excellent choice for droid x. works as well as a wired mp3 player for the car. great for older cars. no static or hissing noises like previous models i have used. make sure multimedia volume is at full volume.

I knew there was potential for this item to not be as good as a hard wired device. I don't consider myself an audiophile and would have been pleased with basic performance. I like the build quality of the item and its looks. Works as advertised, but the static is constant even though the unit is just about four feet from the antena. This was on a station with no local interference.
