Update: I saw the new review mentioning about volume control. I was having a hard time too then I contacted the support, here is what I found out: when the screen is on, press the left or right button to in/decrease the volume. and to answer one of the comments, it has an aspect ratio option. It plays 16:9.

**UPDATE** Thanks to the comment from corbra, I now know how to control the volume on my unit (left and right buttons on the remote while the screen is on), so I've changed my review to 5 stars. So the unit has good picture, and acceptable sound once you know how to adjust it. But the placement of the volume control is incredibly non-obvious. Even knowing exactly how to control it now, I went back through the manual and found nothing that mentioned it. Still, I'm rating the product's capabilities, not the user interface. I figure you can learn to use a weird user interface on an otherwise good product, and be happier than if you had a perfectly intuitive user interface on a lousy product. One other thing though don't lose the remote. There is exactly 1 button (on/off) and one adjustment wheel (keystone correction) on the unit itself. Everything else is on the remote. And the remote takes a specialty battery size 3V CR2025. Fortunately, it's included with the unit, but once it dies, you probably don't have one lying around to replace it. Just FYI.
I've left the original review below:

This might not matter to most of you setting up home theater systems with separate surround sound speakers, but for me, I just wanted a single unit to project movies and sound, which is what I thought I was getting. And while I love the picture quality, and the brightness is really impressive for an LED lamp, my one complaint is that even though it has built-in speakers, they're very quiet and have no volume control. So, you can mute or unmute it through the remote, but that's all. It's weird. Who ever heard of speakers with no volume control?
So, this line from the product features, "... Audio (built-in speakers give a home theater experience anywhere)" is a massive overstatement.
Still, the picture really is bright, sharp, and vividly colored. So, if you've got your own speakers, this is probably a great unit for you, especially for the price.

I recently got this for my girlfriend because she always wanted to have a projector that could at least look somewhat close to the movie experience as she likes to watch on warm nights in her backyard. I was really happy when I came upon this little guy. I know it's not going to blow anyone's socks off, but that's not the goal. I just want it to work. Honestly, because there were so few comments on this one, I already had a plan B in case this one didn't prove to be what it say. But the picture is really clear even with limited darkness, the interface is wonderful and easy to understand (granted I've never owned a projector before, so I don't have much to go off of), and it has a built in media player that WORKS!!! I mean we didn't have all the cords initially, so to test it out, we just connected a flash drive that had a movie on it and BOOM, it did a preview. Hit play and it played with sound. The only drawback I can see so far is that it doesn't really get that loud, but that's not a reason to get this one here. I would definitely suggest it to anyone interested in getting a nice projector for the beginner.Want FAVI Entertainment RioHD-LED-3 Home Theater LED Projector (Black) Discount?
Wanted to use this as my mini home entertainment projector. The fan is loud loud loud. Also, there is no volume control on the remote, yet there's a mute button... Who does that? So I attached a auxiliary speaker that I have to turn up quite a bit to drown out the fan sound. But when I chose not to need to blast the auxiliary speaker, I use the projector for sound. But then the sound coming out of it started going off and on! Its getting returned.I ordered this to run in my classes for IT (as there is no IT on site at this particular place). This little unit is not worth the bother of opening and even trying. There is no tech support, not even an address on the packaging-to even send in a warranty card! The remote must be pointed very directly at one exact little tiny spot to receive. The USB (my flies) opened to a certain point, and then would not open subfiles. There are no instructions for text files-totally missing from the instruction "manuel" which is very sparse in any case. The clarity is not good at any distance. Don't know why people liked it, but my advice is to spend more. Guess you get what you pay for. I am very glad Amazon is such an easy place to return good to, that I am thankful for!!! And now, it is back to the drawing board to start all over-which is really annoying as it wasted my time.
