This case is no different.
The versatile design featuring an inner sleeve secured with a Velcro band makes it easy to prop up your nexus 7 in either portrait or landscape mode.
The quality of the leather and stitching is great, and the built-in magnet means the sleep feature works too!
This case is also held closed magnetically, so it is less likely to open unexpectedly in your bag.
EDIT 8-01-2012
The magnetic wake function stopped working on my case, and when rooCASE proved unreachable via their website I contacted PC Micro Store via Amazon.
Within MINUTES I received a reply from Nichole telling me that my replacement case has been checked for proper function and was being sent out very soon.
This is an example of outstanding simply customer service.
I highly recommend PC Micro Store because of this great experience!I just got the case and I am very happy with it. The Nexus 7 fits perfectly inside and there is easy access to all controls and ports and the camera is clear. The volume and power button are a little difficult, but that's because they are more on the back of the device. The auto sleep and wake up works good. You can un-velcro the holder from the flap and use it to prop it vertically and horizontally, great for reading or gaming with a controller. Overall, the quality of the product is great for $30. If I were find any fault, it is that you can't fold the flap behind the device completely flat.
If you are looking for a nice case for your Nexus that can stand it up, I would recommend this case.Received this case for my Nexus 7 a few days ago and here are my thoughts so far:
PROS
1. Very sturdy and fashionable. It is nothing like those flimsy smart covers. Provides much needed padding and great quality leather in a nice snug fit.
2. All cutouts for camera, usb, etc. are in the perfect location for access.
3. Sleep/awake magnet works exactly as billed. Always sleeps, always awakens.
4. Velcro and ridges work wonders to detach and view screen in proper orientation. Again, seems sturdy and durable.
CONS
1. Screen is slightly off-center with the borders of the case, but no part of the screen is blocked. Annoying to some, maybe not others.
2. Tough to push volume rocker and lock button. I mostly blame Google for this as they put the buttons almost under the device as opposed to fully on the side.
Overall, I got what i wanted which is something to protect my device and make it easily transportable. I love the dual-view nature of the case to watch movies or look at pictures. Would recommend to anyone.I am very disappointed with this case. Part of my disappointment is due to poor design, part of it is due to what may be poor or defective manufacturing.
The overall build quality seems fairly cheap and shoddy some of the edges aren't straight. It's especially noticeable along the top.
The case slightly overhangs the Nexus 7 screen at the top and sides, making common gestures more difficult every time you pull down the notification bar, you will be annoyed at the shoddy case you bought.
The stand function is rather unstable, especially in portrait orientation, and the tablet frequently ends up slightly but noticeably crooked.
The front cover hangs open and gets in the way when the case is open in portrait orientation, blocking your left hand, and can't be folded back flat it ends up creating a very thick "spine" on the left side of the tablet.
The magnets which are supposed to keep the case closed and and make the tablet wake/sleep require the cover to be positioned just right to work properly otherwise the front cover will quickly end up hanging open. Especially annoying when trying to close everything up after using the stand in portrait position. Even with the magnets properly lined up there is no kind of satisfying "click" or "thunk" that tells you the case is securely sealed the magnets just feel like they are weak or don't make good contact.
The loop for holding a stylus may be a nice thing to have for the people who actually use a stylus with their Nexus 7 (relatively few, I would think, though I could be wrong) but is foolishly positioned where it will get in the way of the the lock and volume buttons.
Will be returning this and looking for another option. The case overlaps the edges of the tablet too much. This causes the user to continuously pull the case edge up to swipe down functions/notifications.
