Used this to connect to a regular mag mount antenna, and am getting great range. Haven't measured SWR or anything but seems to be hitting the repeaters I'm after. It does what it is supposed to, no problems.
The mount into the radio is a little weird in that it has a 'nut' whose purpose I can't figure out, but it's no harm.

the coax is hard and it requires more effort to twist the cable to the right angle to keep the connection from popping loose.
