Royal EZVUE1 Personal Digital Assistant

Royal EZVUE1 Personal Digital Assistant
  • Schedule Planner
  • ToDo list & memo book
  • Stopwatch/countdown Timer
  • Calculator
  • Multi-language prompts

I just bought this and have been playing with it.

Good Features:

-There is a backlight feature.

-There is an actual keyboard under the touch screen. Well, I guess it isn't a keyboard, but a mini pad with all the letters of the alphabet, numbers, basic calc functions, @, period, space, del, edit, program, sym, ok, cap, power, link, menu buttons, scroll buttons, you get the picture. I like this feature because I can have multiple fingers working while making notes instead of using a styli to put them in one at a time.

-No waiting for it to "save" numbers and notes. It's very fast and efficient.

-Quick schedule pull-up. I can find the day I want with 2 taps. Same with the planner. And to-do list and phone book are also menu buttons on the keypad so its easy.

-The functions and how to go about doing things are to me pretty logical, like I don't have to keep referring to the manual because by instinct I navigate around or try a button and it does what I think it should do. It makes sense.

-But easy to understand manual

-Separate notes, to-do, scheduler, web book, and anniversary functions.

-Easily accessible world time option (you can switch between HOME time and world with just one click). Very cool, there are a TON of cities and capitals all over the world to choose from. (Right now mine is set for Athens, Greece!)

-Pretty light. Very thin. I'm in summer purse mode so my bag is tiny and this doesn't stretch it out at all.

-Comes with two extra styli

Things to be aware of:

-The keypad buttons would be a problem for someone with large or even average size hands/fingers. Probably guys. For me this wasn't a problem because I have small fingers.

-The screen seems to be very reflective. You can easily alter brightness, but that still leaves reflection and in an average lit room I think its harder than it should be to see the screen because there is this big face reflected and it's distracting.

-Memo notes are limited to 200 characters

-I have found myself switching between the styli and the keypad for one thing I want to do. The keypad works best for me for a lot of things and then in the middle it seems like the styli is the only option. Maybe its me, but I don't know if I like this.

-The cover covers the screen only. Its nice because it is attached to the pda and just flips over, but bad because in my opinion it should have covered the entire thing and snapped closed. Actually, I wish the half cover did snap, it doesn't seem very secure to me.

Still, overall I like this PDA. It's a small, affordable gadget, perfect for someone like me who doesn't want to put out big $$$, and doesn't mind something less powerful but still wants a decent PDA. Not to be a girl but I think its cute too. I'm a college student who is pretty much always on the go, so small efficient gadgets have become my thing.

Read my review of the the MP3 128 mb IRiver player too!

this PDA was no good,it was new in package yet was broken, got batteries in it,turned in on and only HALF the screen works,so now I'm stuck with a broken piece of garbage,I'm only 14 and I worked hard and saved up to buy this and can't return it and get my money back or anything, wouldnt ever order this one again,it's a waste of money, the shipping was fast, but the sender did a very poor job packing it,it came in a box far to big with only 1 sheet of news paper to stop it from tumbling around in the box, which it obviously didnt do very well,it could very well be why it came broken.
