I homeschool my son and bought this laptop for him. He really enjoys this laptop. My son kept looking at laptops and he really wanted this one. Glad we made the choice to buy this one.

I was looking at a number of similar laptops, and found a number in the same price range, but with significantly lower specs. This laptop was a great deal, and it's done quite well so far.

Screen had really bad contrast ratio. I adjusted the gamma but even at the lowest setting it was really washed out. Brightness didn't help. Back levels were also really bright even at the lowest setting. Maybe I'm spoiled by my macbook but it was unusable, I sent it back. Also, the performance of the machine wasn't as good as my 4 year old desktop so I wouldn't call it a gaming rig in at all. I don't know if my unit was defective or they're all bad. I hooked it up to my TV via the hdmi port and the picture was also terrible so it wouldn't make a good media center device either. I'm so disappoint.
