Accessorise Executive Zip-around with Built-in Stand Leather Case Portfolio for Apple iPad 4 / iPad

After several days researching cases for the ipad 4, I decided to give this one a try. It had all the features I was looking for and even though at least one reviewer claimed it was not made of leather, the majority of reviewers as well as the photos convinced me to make the purchase.

I've had it over a week now and couldn't be happier. The case has just enough room for a small 8 1/2" x 7" note pad, (your printer can make these up for you . . . 2 on a sheet of legal size paper, about 35 sheets per pad fits nicely) along with a stylus/pen combo and a few credit/business cards. All that contained in a stylish, well engineered LEATHER case that really protects your rather substantial investment in an ipad.

The auto on/off function works perfectly, the stand allows you to work at your desktop and take notes comfortably and springs back flush with the outside of the case when closed up. The velcro backing on the frame holds well and detaches so you can reposition the ipad to portfolo or work independently of the case if so desired. Detached, the opening for the back camera allows it's use without having to remove the ipad from the leather frame that still provides some protection. The double zippered closure operates smoothly from either side and, as is the rest of the case, well sewn and constructed of good quality material and keeps everything protected in the case without becoming too thick and bulky. Easy access to controls and data port are engineered into the design.

I initially liked the look and feel of a different case with a suedelike finish but this 2 tone case looks great and will ultimately last much longer and retain it's good looks with minimal care . . . suede gets funked up easily and is difficult to clean. This leathers finish just wipes off and my guess is that a little wear will give it that destressed appearance that many people like. The only thing that I found slightly odd was the smell, which I'm sure is the adhesive used to securely bond the leather and velcro components together. After a week this seems to be going away and was never annoying to me, but I like the smell of gasoline and matches too!

Overall this case is a great value and compares to others twice it's price and beyond.

I would have given this a 5 if they had not said it was leather. It deserves a 1 rating for advertising leather when it is not. So averaging the 5 with the 1 I decided to rate it a 3. It's lovely if you don't mind that it's not leather. The case itself is very well made and looks rich. In fact, it looks like leather. The zipper feature is very handy in case you want to slip loose papers inside although it has pockets and card holders inside as well. Although I did not put the Ipad inside I think it would hold securely within so no worries there. I did not find the smell offensive as one other review I read. I have received non-leather products in the past that smell toxic, but this is not the case with this product. Overall, I sent it back because it was NOT genuine leather as advertised.

I like that I can zip it up & there are two zippers. I like that it's velcro. I can take off & put inside, prop it up etc. The folders inside & business card holders is what I was looking for. Easy to use & very convenient for me. The price is excellent for everything I wanted.

Forget the one star review that says the case stinks. I don't recall the listing of this item stated it was leather. I don't care what the material is, all I know is that it's a quality made case that gives good protection for your iPad and it doubles as a holder for your desk or lap. If that "smell" person is allergic to the materials in the case it's not the fault of the manufacturer. I noticed no such odor. She shouldn't downgrade a product just because she has some health issues.
