The software (particulary installation) is not user friendly. I am a programmer and advanced software user, so if I find the synchronization software clumsy, it might be very hard for a beginner to figure out.
Royal's desktop program is only so-so, so I am using Outlook and synchronize it with the PDA using the CompanionLink. Items in the "Personal" category are a little bit of a glitch, so unless you need to segregate the two, I would recommend storing everything in the "Business" category to eliminate problems when synchronizing.
For the price, though, it's a good buy. $... vs. $... for a Palm Pilot and most features are just about the same.

This item was a breeze to set up and use. My computer skills are marginal and I purchased it as a gift for my husband so of course I had to make sure it worked LOL. I only needed to glance at the manual it was soooo easy. And very affordable. I realize it may not be top of the line but still has a lot of features and preforms them well and for the price is perfect for someone who doesn't need or want all the bells and whistles. Over all loved this item.Read Best Reviews of ROYAL Linea 8 8MB Pen Based PDA ( Personal Digital Assistant ) Here
I read the wonderful reviews of this item and bought it. BIG MISTAKE. I have to hit the "reset" button every time I want to use it because it won't come on with the normal "on" button. In resetting, I have to redo the date and time EVERY time. I JUST GOT THIS THING YESTERDAY!!! I'm sending it back! Also, this is WAY too remedial. I didn't expect a Palm Pilot, but at least something for the thinking adult!
