When I saw this product it struck me as a wonderful item. I could rapidly scan all of my old photos and not take days doing it. I read reviews where people reported white lines appearing on the scanned photos. Well, mine did have them. There was no rhyme or reason to it either. I could scan a photo and not have any lines in it, then scan it again and have 1 line, 4 lines. I never knew what it was going to do. I did follow the instructions and calibrated the device, cleaned it, etc. The lines still showed up. Seeing it for myself I find the lines to be unacceptable. I wanted to digitize my old photos to keep them from wear and signs of age. Not scan them and have artifacts in the finished product that weren't there when I started. The time saved using this device compared to using a flatbed scanner for photos is not enough to overlook this fault.

I took a gamble, after reading about the white lines in some of the other reviews, and purchased this scanner anyway. I was hoping that it was just a few defective units, and mine would not have that problem. Well, just like the others, my photos all scan in with fine white lines across them. I've tried cleaning and calibrating it multiple times, following the instructions and it hasn't helped.

To me, these lines are completely unacceptable. I'm going to try and return it to the manufacturer, hoping that they have come up with a fix for it since it was first produced. If they come through and get me a working unit, I will come back and write a new review. But for now, two stars is an extremely generous rating, based solely on how much I love the concept behind this product, as the final product you end up with is not good.

I just opened this baby up and started scanning and love the way it functions. It scans fast and easy and seems to autocrop when necessary. The major downside is there are fine lines through almost half of my pictures I scanned. Some are noticiable and all seem to be in the same area. Tried rescanning those pics and it sometimes improves and goes from 2 lines to 1 but it's always there. I am calling MFG to see if there is a fix besides the recalibration.

I have had 4 of these units in my possession now, and none of them performed without lines through the images. It is a shame, because it is flawless in every other way. The concept is so solid that, if it performed well, there would be one in every household at the price they are offering it at. I would pay three times as much for it if it worked.

I would say I get maybe 25% good scanned images, the rest have lines through them. They show up at different spots on the same image, or sometimes not at all, so it doesn't seem to be related to the print. It's such a great concept that I gave it two stars even though it doesn't seem to work. Such a shame, with a working product and a little bit of advertising they could sell millions of them.

The product is easy to set up and use, but it definitely leaves lines through the pictures. I read the reviews on here before buying, and it seemed like only one reviewer had trouble with lines, so I thought I'd take my chance.

I even made sure to clean each photo beforehand, to remove any dust or other debris. My first two (2) pictures came out good, but ONLY my first two pictures. The rest had horrible white lines on them! And the amount and thickness of lines seemed to increase as I went on.

The manufacturer KNOWS this is a problem, and even addresses this issue in the user manual. I followed the recommended solution: cleaning and calibrating the machine, but that made no difference. There were still lines!

I am upset that I wasted so much time scanning photos (it is much quicker than using a flatbed scanner though). I would not recommend this product to anyone who is trying to digitize their precious photos. If you don't care about the quality, then go for it. Otherwise, this machine would only be useful for scanning business cards or receipts.

I will be returning this. Save yourself the trouble--don't buy!
