Topram 16GB SDHC Class 6 Memory Card

Topram 16GB SDHC Class 6 Memory CardI've purchased two (2) units of the Topram 16GB SDHC (Class 6) cards back in May 2008 where they were primarily used for storage for my HD Canon camcorder. This past summer, the first started to give me internal errors to the point that I've lost majority of the 16GB and now have some 200MB left on the card that is accessible. The 2nd card failed on me today. I've turned on my Nikon D80 DSLR and found that the memory card was "locked", so as I pulled it out I found that A) the lock tab was missing and that B) the front of the plastic housing was ripped off. Somehow the plastic didn't hold up to the bi-weekly insertion and removal from my Nikon to the memory card reader.

So, could I recommend these cards? Not really, if you want them to last for more than 2-years. Sadly, I have memory cards dating back to the 128MB era and they are just fine. I guess they don't build them as they used to.

Now I have to find 2 replacement 16GB, which fortunately won't cost me the $75 each that I paid a little over two years ago.

Works great when used in HD camcorder... specifically in a Canon G10, Canon M30, and JVC everio 430. Very happy with price, speed, size, etc.

This card is cheap for how many gigs or memory that it carrys. Im using the SD card in my GoPro 960 and haven't had any problems yet. Also fast reading on my MacBook pro too.
