Working in fast paced Communications Center means I need the ability to control what my callers hear and don't hear. We do have the ability to check a box on our phone system screen that mutes the microphone, but not only is it not 100% effective it is also difficult to check that nearly microscopic box. Should you need to turn around and try to speak to someone on the floor, this is almost always when the caller asks if you are there. We work with more than one mouse and going back and forth is ridiculously cumbersome.

Works great, does exactly what it said it would. only I thought it would help my calls (I work at a call center) but Im doing so much more with the mouse and keyboard that it actually takes more time to reach for the mute button when I have to talk to my co-workers. I have a mute button on my phone so Im sticking with that one for now. Overall still good mute switch.

The switch works as expected. It does not mute out completely but more than enough to be satisfactory. I had an instance when I forgot I was on mute and answered a call, my caller could still hear me but just barely. So it is good for silencing a sneeze, cough or unexpected background noise but do not use if you will be talking to someone other than the person on the other end of the call. Also when I received it the package insert stated it was for H series headsets which is not listed on the product description. I have a Plantronics DA40 headset but found it works fine with my headset.
